Try to interact with everyone. <3- Have fun! Even if your pony isn't. 8'DPrompt: With over eighty percent of Serora packed into the Oasis, the huge tract of land seems suddenly...cozier. While it’s certainly a more lush setting than many of you have ever lived in, the less arid environment brings first time challenges like the concept of humidity and enclosure. Outside is the threat of war, Aodhians ravaging the land you all know and love. Inside is supposed to be safe, perhaps permanently. How are you adjusting to some of these new faces you might never see otherwise? Alcaeus; Serora | The Folk
It was silly to think, by Cascade’s grace, that he of all horses, would have been able to find some peace in the world. To escape Talori’s grasp and it’s prejudice for the first time in his 32 years of life; to assume for once in his life, he could settle down and find personal happiness. He expected to find at least that much in the world, yet the world kept turning and planned different for him. It never let him rest, even when he needed it most. He felt old - he wasn’t old, by means, but he felt it in his bones. He was tired of being stripped of feathers and being stared at like his wings shouldn’t be there. As if they’d sprouted over night. So he’d left the flight, in the hopes that he could forget it all, move on into some place better, forget everything he had fought for and endured, so that some may have a better life in the future; he had fought for their future, and in the end, he decided he deserved to fight for his own - with the peace Serora had offered.
By Cascade, by Alya, by the rest of the gods, he was tired of fighting. But that didn’t mean he was done. Certainly not now.
He’d stumbled into Serora, half lost, half confused, and took their gracious sheltering when they offered. He’d been there a short time, he wanted to avoid politics and just settle into their views - to just care about friends and family. Naively, he’d been starting to forget about political turmoil and it’s even existence. He wasn’t even aware that Aodh and Serora were at ends, until suddenly there wasn’t any way not to know. He simply hadn’t listened until he had to.
But it suddenly felt a lot more different when the whole of the Seroran population was all crammed into the Oasis, hoping for salvation and for miracles. Hoping not to be torn down and ripped apart by another herd.
He’d thought he’d been done fighting when he’d turned his back on Talori and the Flock; but it wasn’t until now, in Serora where he truly understood why some fought. He knew in his soul that he’d do anything to protect the few his heart was a bit weak for. Looking over at those he’d came with - Aisling and her daughter Prim, he knew he was far from as torn down and done as he thought he’d been, at least for their sake.

When word had spread of War on the Horizon Helios hadn't entirely beleive it. In all his days in Alya's sands he hadn't once thought their nation would go to war... but that day had come and now some of their friends and family were off facing the Aodhians who threatened the peice of their land. The pearl stallion had followed most of his herd into the safety of the Oasis, they were all crammed in together like hens to the slaughter but that did nothing to brighten his spirit. He kept a gentle smile on his face the entire time, throughout his journey there and even more so when they wore brought together as a group, however cramped it was it still felt good to be so close to each and every member of his heard Helios quietly shuffled his way through the crowd, he'd filled his saddle bags with goodies before he'd come down and had even filled a woven cane basket with some things as well. The basket was tucked against his chest with his teke, it's contents easily held in place as he moved forward. Apologies were given when he bumped into an agitated horse and small bits of food and hoof made things were given out to anyone who needed a bit of Kindness. The pegasus had even brought a good sized collection of his own feathers to offer as gifts to his herd mates, "Hello" he finally greeted someone, offering his gentle smile, "Might I offer something to you in Mother Alya's wake?" He asked genuinely, "I have plenty of all, trinkets, refreshments and even a snack or two... All is free I assure you, my feathers are here also so you may have someone with at all times if you need it"

M O E ❅Serora | Folk❅
Its innocence when it charms us, ignorance when it doesn't Moe was a right mess. The news had been hidden from the foal for as long as able, but even then, they found out. The aliens invaded their home, coming to drag them off to where they wouldn't be found, where they would be a pet.
The buttermilk buckskin stared at the oasis entrance, their ears flattened to their neck. Their fledgling wings lay pinned to their sides, entire body quivering. Miss Embryss wasn't here. Nor was Bibi Bar, or Aunt Jo, or Uncle Pagan, or Uncle Sriracha, Uncle Abe, or Uncle Yesh. At least they couldn't see them if they were. They could see Uncle Donny, as well as the twins, and Cousin Noa, but Moe was too much of a mess to go up and talk to them.
With a low sobbing breath, the pegasus foal dropped their head, tail curling beneath them as tears dripped down their cheeks. They just wanted Miss Embryss. Their hindquarters crashed to the ground as their legs gave out. The aliens had ruined everything.
They couldn't even appreciate the scenery, as their muzzle touched the ground and they sobbed, the feather ruff around their neck ruffled.

EVEN IF I'M SORE, I'LL LOOK FOR YOU post 1 | 280 words Sedo was supposed to be safe from Aodh's wrath. She was supposed to find peace, yet, here she was fleeing from war. Supplies packed tightly into her saddlebags, she reluctantly left Osulas. Brooklyn hadn't had a permanent resident since she was a young slave and those days were long gone. But Osulas had been her home, even if she didn't truly belong to the Seroran herd. So when she had to pack her stuff and leave everything behind yet again, it left her with a heavy heart. The tent was filled with others and while there was certainly no singing or dancing, there was a sense of community that even she felt. If they didn't have the city or their homes, they had each other. Adjusting her bags, Brooklyn slowly walked through the crowd until she was situated with some others she even vaguely recognized. Her eyes fell onto a golden pegasus with large, white wings. He seemed to be offering out supplies and while she didn't have any appetite, the idea of talking to someone and not being alone was one she could get on board with. "It's kind of you to offer your supplies," she began as she carefully came over, giving him a gentle smile. She was not usually a friendly mare, but war caused her to have sympathy for these Seroran people. Even if they lost the war, she could still flee and be relatively okay. She wouldn't know what the Aodhians would do to these people though and the thought of it made her cringe. She had never been treated like a stranger in Serora and for that, she was eternally grateful to the herd.

Alcaeus; Serora | The Folk
He watched with a bit of disgruntled attitude as the horses around him tried to be optimistic in the down time, with war over the horizon. He had to take a few extra breaths - a lot of him really understood, it was easy to want to forget the fear and replace it with hope for the better. Foals didn’t deserve to be in fear from a threat they didn’t know about and shouldn’t have to know about. But part of him - from someone who’d actually been in war, knew the reality of the threat around them. They couldn’t hope and pray it all away forever. There wasn’t any hope that could last forever through war.
He took a deep breath, as he saw a horse handing out trinket, another joining in for conversation.
If he was bound to end up in war, there would be only so many good memories left before then; to ruin them would be a crime.
He found himself forcing a smile at first, as he approached them, just in time to hear an unknown horse - Brooklyn, thank the stranger handing out the things to horses around them. His exhale was a bit shaky, a bit torn. “It’s kind of you,” he spoke to the horse with the gifts. He didn’t make an effort to reach for the supplies - others needed it more than him. “We need our spirits lifted in these times.” He ruffled his wings and looked at the two, “what motivates you to do so?” It was a question to both, a small offered distraction to talk about whatever they wanted.

Helios gave the unicorn mare who approached him a gentle smile, he didn't know her face but he did know they they were herd members and that made them as close as Kin. "I dont beleive it is considered kindness if it's offering care for one's family. Ones home" he replied softly as she complimented hiss kindness. He was helping out with the resources he had at hoof, just thinking about it make his smile brighten, the reason for it instantly coming to mind. Lynx. He had promised her from the bottom of his heart that he'd care for her lovely goats whilst she was gone, she fretted of course by he assured her they were safe, it was because of that and because of her that he had something to give. Goats milk and home made snacks were an excellent mood changer. He flicked an ear as another voice joined him and the pretty paint, his words making him chuckle lightly, "My motives are strictly pure I assure you" he responded, lifting a feather, a couple of treats and a small jars of goats milk up with his peachy coloured teke, " is it not the ways of Alya to share all what we have?, please take what I offer and may it lift your spirits in kind", he dipped his head the Both of them, holding out a small set of items for them to take. It may have seemed like just a feather of his, a snack and a jar of milk but to him it was alot more then that, it allowed him to help in the one place he could, "May mother's wings guide you both" his head bobbed again and he absent mindedly shuffled his wings, "Call me Helios" he finally stated, quietly introducing himself like he should have ages ago

Lemon All I need to know is how to gain control Of the shapeless soul x | x Lemon always smiled. He smiled when it was sunny and bright and Alya offered everything to her children with fresh wind and lifted spirits. He smiled when it rained; when cascade nourished their land and reinvigorated everything that thrived there. He smiled at burials, placing offerings to the gods as they said goodbye to the souls of the departed, wishing them an easy ride to the starscape.
Even when the evacuation had started, Lemon smiled. He knew what was coming, saw how some had looked at him if he was a madman. But what could he do? Stop a war, change the Aodhian’s minds?
No, for he was a simple unicorn with a talent for pottery.
So he smiled.
Even now as he walked through the crowded areas of (beautiful) Oasis, Lemon smiled. He offered small pots from his back, filled with water and food, to anyone who looked like they needed. It wasn’t much, but he would spread his talent and help his family any way he could.
So when he saw the foal on the ground near one of the entrances, shoulders tense and head low, Lemon felt his heart drop and his smile falter for a fraction of a second. But he shook his head and made his way over.
Setting down his duel saddlebags, Lemon smiled as he sat himself down in front of the foal. “You’re Moe, aren’t you. I have seen you hanging around with Embryss right?” he said with a bright smile, beginning to unfold his packets of dye.
“So, I was wondering if you’d help me paint some stuff? I’ve got all these pretty pots that need some colour added to em.” slowly, he began to add water to each cloth packet, shaking them up before opening them again to reveal goopy paint. “If not, that’s cool. But I wouldn’t mind some company while i paint” he laughed, looking at Moe expectantly.

EVEN IF I'M SORE, I'LL LOOK FOR YOU post 2 | 230 words And while the horse surrounded her were devastated, she was still met by gentle smiles and kind offerings. Brooklyn looked up to see another horse approaching, another pegasus, who also commented on the kindness of the other. She nodded slowly and met his smile with a nervous one of her own. It was weird to be surrounded by others she didn't know when she wasn't truly a part of the herd, yet a part of it still felt right. The pegasus spoke of Alya and while Brooklyn used to have no idea who she was, the Serorans spoke of her often. Even if she had little knowledge of the god, she wished that Alya bring peace and victory to her people. "I'm Brooklyn. You can call me Brooke, though," she replied. "The milk looks lovely but alas, I am too nervous to have much of an appetite," the small mare admitted. It felt weird to be the one who was 'down' since her whole job was to cheer others up. She still had her cards and well, a few tricks up her metaphorical sleeve, yet she wasn't sure if it was the right time to start doing magic tricks. Maybe when everything got quiet in the evening and they all needed something to take their minds off of this war. Even then it would still feel slightly out of place.

M O E ❅Serora | Folk❅ Its innocence when it charms us, ignorance when it doesn't Moe’s head shot up at the voice. A unicorn, seated in front of them, asking if they were Moe. A small nod from the foal, a sniffle leaving them.
“M-Miss Embryss is my m-mom. M-My other mom got taken by the..” Moe stared around the unicorn at the entrance, tensing as they prepared to say the word.
“Aliens” The unicorn continued on, explaining how he needed some pots painted and wondered if Moe would help. The foal looked at the paint, then, with rudimentary teke, picked up a brush and gave a wobbly smile.
“I-I can help” They used a wing to wipe their eyes, focusing on the paintbrush they were lifting for a moment, before looking back at the adult, shuffling their wings against their back.
“Y-You know my name but...I don’t know yours.” They mused, only really half listening. Still concentrating on holding the paintbrush. Their telekinesis wasn't as advanced yet, but the foal was working on it.

JIBRIEL Oasis. Such a serene name, full of hope. A fitting name, but right now Oasis was all but serene, full of people. This patch of land, big as it was, not contained the hopes, dreams and anxieties of almost the entirety of the Seroran people. As a member of the Council, Jibriel knew many of them, by sight at least. He had seen them at parties, or at Osulas. They were all his people, even the newcomers who had stayed with them even as the remainder of the Flight escaped under the cover of darkness. Jibriel walked among them, trying to seem serene and calm. He was certainly not calm – the type of anxiety that he had always felt before a fight was there, a tingling sensation up and down his spine. Clad in his light armor and tusked helmet, he hoped to bring some sense of safety to the population. Everyone in Serora might have had basic combat training, but most of them were not warriors, not truly. He was, or at least had been, and now he carried that mantle, even if it did not fit as comfortably as it once had.
The time of hiding Tamaras was over as well. He had not wished it so, but what could one do, under the circumstances? And so, the hybrid walked at his side, with Jibriel’s wing partially tucked over the smaller equine – mostly to comfort Tamaras, rather than to hide him from the curious gazes of the Serorans.
He stopped near to where Helios was sharing out feathers, treats and pretty trinkets to those who wanted them, and smiled softly. The hearts of his people were worth protecting, this charming familial innocence that had originally drawn him to them. “Alya smile upon you all”, he said to the equines gathered around the one who had introduced himself as Helios. The light unicorn with pink wings he knew to be one of those who came from the Freedom’s Flight, but their name escaped him – and the unicorn he had not seen before, but they seemed well mannered enough.
“I couldn’t help but notice your attempt to lift our spirits”, he said to Helios, smiling. It was a polite smile, slightly strained from the stress, but honest. He looked at the other two, and introduced himself, as well as his companion: “I am Councilor Jibriel, and this is my friend, Tamaras.”

This was a nightmare. Tamaras didn’t exactly enjoy being cooped up inside with Jibriel, but he enjoyed the crammed Oasis far less. First of all, it was odd feeling comfortable with the more humid environment, and simultaneously unable to breathe. Or maybe they just couldn’t breathe because there were so many equines around. Tamaras had never imagined feeling quite this claustrophobic in Sedo.
It ticked at the back of their mind that war should have been their place. It tore at them to consider a battle between Serora and Aodh - it felt a lot like placing Tam and Aras on the opposing sides once more. And yet… Yet, not quite. It wasn’t Tam’s Aodh. He knew that much, they both did. Crammed here in the midst of all these Serorans, it was a lonely feeling not to belong.
Tamaras was happy for the calming effect of Jibriel’s huge wing. They did their best to match their gait to their big friend’s step, even if said steps lead them closer to an interaction. Interactions usually weren’t fun, they knew. So, they braced themselves. Even Tam was more comfortable with pegasi out of the bunch, thanks to Jibriel. It wasn’t quite that spooky to approach the golden one handing out things, or even the one with pink wings. The unicorn… Well, unicorns were pretty okay - kind of like kirins, if you squinted enough. They kept reasoning with themselves to keep their pulse from skyrocketing. They had agreed to wear a collar that blocked off their blessings, since it wouldn’t have been safe for Jibriel to have to go searching for them if they panicked and teleported out into the desert. They pressed a little closer to the large pegasus, hoping the huge wing would just swallow them out of sight. It did not.
“Hi”, Tamaras managed, their mouth feeling exceptionally dry.

There were so many different horses. Aliyah, now a few months older had found the strength in her legs, although the two feathery appendages now growing more feathers than feather down still had a long way to go. Unbeknownst to her, a war was raging and the threat of Serora being slaughtered was very real. Donny and Yeshua had hurried her and her sister Yemina into this place, the Oasis. It was bright and colourful and very beautiful, but it very quickly was overfilled with other Seroran’s from far and wide.
Aliyah had tried to stay as close to Adonis as she could, but as the hustle and bustle grew, and Adonis had to tend to the Serorans for a greater good, she found herself drifting further and further away from the safety of Donny. Yemina was close by, but soon Aliyah found herself separated from her sister. Aliyah hung her head low and wandered through the crowd. So many unfamiliar faces, she began to shudder with unease, tears and gentle sobbing beginning to show. She wanted to be home. She wanted to be alone. She wanted to be with quiet. The business and unfamiliarity began to make her cry louder as she found her way to a corner, as far from everyone as she could. Beyond her tears she could see Moe and a nice looking unicorn chatting. Another stranger.
“M….Mo….Moeee?” she softly cried, trying to wander over, but her shaky legs not allowing her.

Alcaeus; Serora | The Folk
“Don’t worry, I could never assume otherwise,” Alcaeus replied, his smile a bit softer. Giving out trinkets for some malicious purpose felt dumb to assume. Yet he had a strange tone at the end of his reply, almost a bit hollow. His words were sincere, of course, but the situation they were all in couldn’t escape from his voice, it seemed. He quietly cleared his throat, trying to rid of any bad emotions lingering there. They weren’t in a time to dwell on the bad.
“I believe you’re right,” Alcaeus replied with a smile, when it came to the fact about Alya. Although Cascade was his patron god, and he didn’t know the full extent to the Serora way, but if the people had learnt from her, she was bound to be kind, be it a bit harsh, but accepting with a big heart. Sharing and family seemed like something that would fit right under her wing; along with kindness. “Hello,” he dipped his head to both of them after the other one spoke up, all introducing themselves, “Alcaeus myself.” He finished talking as he took one of the feathers handed to him, placing it near his wing, nestled into his hair. It looked a bit out of place against his pink wings - but not too much.
Alcaeus wasn’t surprised when another few approached them. More of Serora’s kindness. He looked first at the one speaking - only to be surprised when they mentioned a rank - councillor. Alcaeus smiled a bit more softly at that. “Hello,” he dipped to them too, returning the greeting. He blinked a few times when he saw the other horse almost looking like they wanted to disappear - they were winged, but also clearly a Kirin. He had to blink a few times, for he’d heard rumours of Kirins, of course, but seeing one up close was another deal. A Kirin Hybrid, though? That was much more than a first.
He looked between the two new-comes a few times before his gaze rested on the councillor. Friend, he’d said - he doubted someone of that rank would affiliate with someone if they weren’t a good influence. Not to mention, as someone previously from the Flock, he had no reason to judge another based on rumours and appearances. So he smiled a bit more, “It’s nice to meet the likes of both of you,” Alcaeus finally said.

Lemon All I need to know is how to gain control Of the shapeless soul x | x Green eyes lighting up as Moe began to shakily hold a paintbrush, Lemon nodded his at them, ears flicking in confusion when they whispered the word alien. Alien usually meant something strange happening, or maybe they meant that their mother had been taken by strange people? Lemon wasn’t going to dig into it anyway, and merely nodded his head
“That musta been scary,” he said simply, picking up his own brush and dipping it into the Ochre dye “but my name is Lemon, like the fruit!” grinning, the zorse held up the dripping paintbrush for emphasis.
Looking behind the little foal, Lemon’s heart dropped as a much younger pegasus wobbly made her way towards them, his ears perking forward in alarm. Getting to his feet, Lemon lowered her head as he made his way over to her
“Hey hey, it's alright,” his voice was soft, reassuring “you know moe? Why don't you come sit with us, it's really nice over here in the shade” He didn’t want to spoke the little filly, but she was in obvious distress and it didn’t seem like she had a parent or guardian around.

Helios gave the nervous Brooklyn a gentle smile, she may have been worried but something gentle on the tummy like milk always managed to settle his nerves, "It's a pleasure to meet you Brooke. Please do still take it, I fine afew small gulps of milk can settle even the most upset of stomachs. Yours included I must say", he pushed it towards her gently so she took it with her own teke, giving a slow dip of his head to her. Bis attention was quickly caught however as another stallion joined their small gathering, a youngling tucked close to his side, "Alya Smile on you as well" he replied, offering some of his things to them as well First however he addressed Alcaeus, his smile widening when the pink winged stallion took and tucked one of his feather under his wings. It was a nice gesture and he appreciated greatly, offering a kind smile to him in thanks, especially after he took his truth about generous gifts. He flicked an ear and returned to the counselor, a light chuckling filling his throat at the stallions words, "Ahhh counselor, I am just offering what I have to members of my herd, members of mine family. Would you not have done the same in my position?, I'm caring for my good friend Lynx's goats and they are happy to offer milk for the herd and for me to make cookies", his peachy coloured teke took two of each, a cookie, a jar of milk and a pale feather. He offered one set to Jibriel and one to his hybrid companion, "Please take one Counselor, you and the little one"

EVEN IF I'M SORE, I'LL LOOK FOR YOU post 3 | 248 words Brooklyn's soft eyes fell onto the goods that Helios offered since he insisted she take something. It was sweet and when others seemed to join, she appreciated his gentle demeanour. She felt a little out of place with a counsellor nearby and a little bit of guilt filled her as she remembered some of the stories she heard about the war. Someone had told her it was because the sultan refused to hand over vagabonds as slaves. She had been a slave, and she was currently a vagabond, so it hit close to home for her. The pink-winged pegasus had placed a soft white feather in his mane and she gave smiled a smile, deciding to do the same. It rested behind her ear and went well with her golden coat. Helios was soon handing over a small jug of goats milk and she decided it didn't hurt to have some. "Thank you," she said quietly. She took a small sip and licked her lips after, it was pretty good. Her gaze travelled to a small foal and another horse. She recognized the foal. They had met before and Brooklyn was convinced that it was her sibling, but they didn't remember her. The memories stung, but what was she to do? "Would you mind if I brought some cookies and milk over to a friend of mine?" she asked him. Maybe a snack would help Moe feel better, the poor thing looked awfully stressed. Brooklyn couldn't blame them.

M O R D E K A I serora

Eyrin was gone. Not gone, gone, but not here. Not in the oasis, somewhere that should be a bit safe. Not with him and Pan, not close enough. He felt uneasy, concerned; for Pan and for Eyrin. Luckily Pan seemed to have tired out from going to the Oasis, being near so many others for so long. He kept close to her though, having lain a small blanket before she took a nap. The sand probably wasn't pleasant to sleep on, even if there was a tiny cover over it. Besides, he thought it might bring her some comfort too. As Pan fell asleep, the stallion looked around at the other gathered horses. He noticed a small group talking, a white-winged pegasus handing out.. feathers and food?
Looking around, he nudged a nearby horse, asking them to keep an eye on Pan. In case she woke up, he'd be close by - and serorans were known to be kind, so she wouldn't have a need to panic (he'd be there in a heartbeat if she did though!). He walked over to the small group, curious to see what was going on. In the midst of a war, waiting for a disaster to happen, what was the pegasus doing to keep others on top of it all, calm and perhaps happy?
"Hey!" He said lowly, as he came up to them, stopping beside a unicorn with a pink horn. "What's going on over here?" He then asked, nodding at the filled bag the pegasus carried, smiling with a mildly exhausted face. Worrying did take its toll on him, he realized now.

TAMARAS Tamaras felt slightly better when no one seemed to immediately judge them. They had expected much worse - even Aras, who knew he was actually home now. Sometimes he wished he could have just hacked his new kirin half apart and gone about his life as best as he could. But no, Tam was here to stay too.
Tamaras offered a somewhat shy and small, get recognizably friendly smile towards both Alcaeus and Helios. They were going to accept their own set with a thanks, and then- Their thoughts came to a jarring stop, and they stared at Helios for a couple heartbeats in dismay. A sharp intake of breath was all the warning Jibriel got before Tamaras shook off his giant wing from their shoulder and puffed up their hybrid wings, both feathers and bat parts combined. They stood tall - with their antlers their otherwise equal height surpassed Helios - and their slitted eyes stared at him defiantly. Without the cover of Jibriel’s huge wing, it was rather obvious the hybrid was, in fact, a full grown stallion rather than a young equine in hiding.
“Who are you calling little?!” they asked, for once in unison, huffing. Had the blessing blocking collar not been on, there would definitely have been flames. “I will have you know I lived eons before you were even born!” they exclaimed, their nerves kicking on overdrive and the anger overtaking how mortified they were to be surrounded and crammed into this space with all these strangers. In fact the outburst was due to the fear rather than true anger, the scale settling on fight when flight was not an option. Despite the puffing of the wings there was little actual action, but Tamaras did do their best to look big and menacing, their long hybrid tail swishing.

JIBRIEL He smiled courteously at the former Freedom Flight member. He did rather feel for them, despite them all being in the same circumstances now – to escape oppression and hatred for your wings into a land that accepted you, but was on the brink of war. Perhaps the skills attained by these hardy freedom fighters would provide useful to the Serorans as well. He didn’t want to think about it, but that was always a possibility. Aodh was such a massive power that a direct victory seemed foolish to even hope for. A standstill was far more realistic.
“Likewise, Alceus”, he replied with a smile, and turned his attention to Helios and smiled. Yes, it was indeed a kind deed to support ones extended family. It was their strength, and their weakness, how close they all were. Each loss in battle would be felt deeply by the whole herd when the opportunity to mourn would eventually come.
He didn’t have a chance to accept a cookie before Helios, the poor sweet fool, called Tamaras a little one. Jibriel heard the sharp intake of breath, and closed his eyes with a short curse even as he grabbed his teke onto Tamaras’ long tail, keeping them from charging too far ahead. “Tamaras please, behave yourselves”, he scolded both halves of the hybrid, hearing both their voices cracking through one another as they both were offended. “Helios didn’t mean any ill by it. No one is questioning your value”, Jibriel said, pulling back on the tail with a gentle, even tug that was enough to drag the hybrid back closer to him: “Although you are giving them plenty of reason to question your maturity.”
Still holding on to the tail he addressed the surrounding Serorans calmly: “Please forgive Tamaras. They would be happier out there fighting than cooped up here, but the time wasn’t right.” Jibriel too would probably have felt more at ease on the battlefield, but what could one do, really? He was needed here.

It was all too much. It was hot, dusty, noisy and busy. Aliyah continued to Sob and mutter words that may have sounded like family members between the tears – she had now lost full sight of Adonis who she heard raise his voice. There was another horse beside Moe, who had suddenly caught sight of Aliyah and wandered over. She shuddered nervously at first, getting ready to run into another corner, but his voice was warm and calm, which helped temper the situation. “You know Moe? Why don’t you come sit with us, it’s really nice over here in the shade.” Aliyah’s bright blue eyes peered behind the pink-haired horse and over to Moe who was handling a paintbrush, looking a little confused.
Aliyah nodded her head softly, agreeing to come sit and her tears seemed to recede. She spoke softly “I…my Dad….Dads. Aaaadownis…Donny……I can’t see him. And Weshuuaaa?” She looked around again. “Have you seem them? They…okay?”. She looked concerned, but soon enough managed to calm herself down and begin to wander over to where Moe was, still flinching at the sudden movements or steps of the other Seroran's.

The pearly stallion took one look at Brooke's offer and his smile widened, his eyes settling over the young ones not too far off from them, "Please. The little ones need it just as much as we do, Take as much as you need for them, my offerings are for all", He quietly collected three extra sets of his offerings, milk was the most important as well as the cookies, he even tucked in some extra feathers hoping the childeren would like them. It was quite nice of the mare to think of the childeren, Lynx would have honestly done the same and the mere thought of her made him smile fondly, "if you need more Brooke, you know where to find me"It was as if the herd was gravitating towards him and for a long second glee and happiness filled his heart, he was so greatful to the horses of his herd for their gentle nature's, he was sure no where else had their heart and spirit. He found himself chuckling again as a horse questioned what he had and he silently offered some of what he had up to them, tilting the small cane basket at his chest towards them, "Just some of Alya's bounty my friend, please take some", he used his teke to offer the stallion Mordekai some of his things, dipping his head lightly before he returned his attention to the counselor... but boy was he in for a shock The supposedly small Kirin hybrid at the counselors side seemed to grow in size as he stepped from beneath the large wing. Helios hadn't even realized the horse was that big let alone an adult, his ears instantly dropped and a lump formed on his throat as the now prominent threat on his life loomed over him. He swallowed hard and for a moment his teke shook, the jars of milk rattling dangerously from the shock, "...Alya save me..." he whispered breathlessly, pressing his back legs together in hopes of avoiding a modifying accident like the last fright he had That huge beast looked terrifying and for a moment his eyes grew wide, his tail dropping as his back half sunk a little. There was no room to scoot back and no room to turn and flee, he was stuck. Face to face with something terrifying... Jibriel's words barely registered and he found himself laughing nervously and quite awkwardly, "Heh heh... its... nooooooooo trouble... ", who was he kidding?, he was shaking in his horse shoes before them and there was nothing he could do. He had made an error identifying the hybrid as a child and it seemed he was going to pay for his mistake, "I-I did not mean to- I did not see your...Height from... down here..."

Alcaeus; Serora | The Folk
Alcaeus let the other’s around him catch up in the conversation before saying anything again. Keeping a neutral expression, with a smile, it did faulted once or twice, unrelated to the words being passed from mouth to mouth. He made sure to dip his head at his name and the councilor speaking. His gaze didn’t rest on anyone until his eyes flashed in surprise to the hybrid suddenly taking an outburst.
He took a step back in his surprise, his wings untucking from his body to ruffle up a bit. He stared wide eye. It was Jibriel trying to calm down the hybrid that knocked the surprise out of his mind. In seconds, Alcaeus turned his disposition back to collected, with a raised eyebrow or two. He listened to what Jibriel had to say, but his gaze was suddenly stuck to the hybrid, his already interested gaze intensified.
He caught how the other horse used plural to talk to Tamaras, but he didn’t think twice to question a meaning. His smile was just a little bit bigger. Helios seemed to disagree, personally looking a lot more afraid.
“I know the feeling,” Alcaeus didn’t debate saying. “I feel so useless sitting here, waiting.” His gaze didn’t turn from the two, eyes still a bit more focused. “But I guess it makes us better backup if anyone actually makes it down here, doesn’t it?” There was a bit of keen humour in his eyes.

TAMARAS Tamaras’ head spun and they showed their sharp canines to Jibriel, but clearly respected the pegasus too much to actually do more than that. Their ears flattened at the scolding, and there was a certain distrust in their eyes. Jibriel pointing out that they weren’t behaving maturely was annoying, too, like a cherry on top. It only served to make them feel more cornered, and they squinted as they got tugged closer. Logically thinking they knew that Jibriel was right and just trying to keep them safe, but right now they felt a little too bristly to truly appreciate that.
But what did sober them up was Helios’ reaction. If Tamaras had lashed out out of fear, clearly Helios was much more afraid. They had the decency to feel a little sorry, but mostly they were more content in their capability to protect themselves. Their lizard brain was happy to be the bigger and badder equine around, at least in someone’s eyes. Tamaras took another step back voluntarily, and flattened their wings against their sides.
It helped that no one attacked back, and their gaze softened to a little less defensive when Alcaeus spoke. Granted, now they felt a little stupid for such a rash reaction, but they couldn’t go back to hiding under Jibriel’s wing anymore. “I guess you’re right”, Aras answered with a little respectful nod, the tonal shift of the two souls crackling over one another versus just one talking clear to perhaps Jibriel, but not necessarily to those who had no idea what the hybrid’s deal was. “I’m sorry”, he added to Helios a bit awkwardly. He couldn’t say that he hadn’t meant to scare him, because he absolutely had, but he didn’t truly wish harm on the generous pegasus. Tam was perhaps just a little less sorry, but Aras’ tone was genuine.

JIBRIEL He felt truly sorry for Helios’ scare, and a little guilty too. He should have kept Tamaras under wraps better than this, especially after all the time they had already spent together, but despite his best efforts he really couldn’t keep a handle on the hybrid at all times. They were nice enough when calm, but when agitated, well, it was a lot to deal with for sure. “We mean you no harm, Helios”, Jibriel assured the kind pegasus once Tamaras calmed down: “I’ll find a way to make it up to you. There is really no excuse for this kind of behavior.” The councilor gave Tamaras a sharp side glance, letting go of their tail. He knew of course that the souls that made Tamaras had been a Fury and a warrior kirin of some kind. They were not used to inaction, and found it hard to be at ease in such a crammed scape full of different species.
To move the incident behind them he turned his attention to Alceus, who spoke about being a last line of defense if something went wrong. He hoped it would not come to that – the Oasis was both too large, and too packed with people to be defensible without civilian casualties. Alya’s blessings held them safe here, but if that was somehow breached… He did not wish to think of it.
“I used to be a warrior of sorts as well”, Jibriel noted to Alceus: “I both yearn for it and dread returning to it.” Jibriel knew that if it came to it, Tamaras would be very useful. Aodhians would likely have at least some reservations about attacking a kirin hybrid, and the hybrid’s two blessings would make them a formidable foe… Provided they didn’t just accidentally teleport off to somewhere.

M O R D E K A I serora
......
Mordekai gratefully accepted the pegasus' offers, carefully placing the milk and cookies in his bags, so he could give it to Pan later on. He put the feather in his tail, his mane cut much too short to hold it unless he figured out a braid or other at some point. He smiled at the pegasus, who he figured was Helios later on. Before he could say his thanks though, a ... kirin and pegasus hybrid.. burst out in anger at something Helios had said earlier. Mordekai looked to the hybrid in distrust, flinching slightly as he seemed to tower up over the others for a moment. Another horse, a pegasus named Jibriel, spoke up for the hybrid, as if he was their caretaker. Mordekai looked at them with a puzzled expression on his face, before looking to Alceus (yet another pegasus!) who expressed his concern about not being able to be out in the battlefield.
Turning to Alceus fully, he followed up on Jibriels words. "I understand what you mean. My partner is out there somewhere, taking care of anyone who might fall to injuries. I'm grateful he's not fighting though. On the other hand, I'm scared of what might happen and I hate to be stuck here, not being able to help or protect him. All I can do now is protect Pan and the rest of the serorans here" He sighed, looking around at the cramped tent. You could feel the uneasiness in the air.

Coronach// Mullah
Coronach was arriving relatively late to the oasis. While the rest of the herd seemed to be gathered there, they had been in the valley of melodies. Despite the looming war they had duties to attend to and Coronach was loath to let down his herd for anything. After seeing to a young stallion who had been questioning whether life was truly worth living they had given some light, spiritual guidance to a small family and then begun gathering supplies to fly to the oasis. Currently they soared, preparing for landing. They were deeply thankful for the flitting silver figure that accompanied them. The spirit's whispered words instructed them on a safe landing in the unseen landscape. It would be a difficult manoeuvre, the ground was crowded and Coronach was weighed down with packs of food, skins of water and a few of his favourite books. The extra weight made for a heavier landing than intended. Coronach landed with a thud, wobbly but upright.
They hoped no disturbance had been caused caused by their landing, and with the twitching of their hidden ears they figured that no one had yet noticed their arrival. They were also aware of a large group of equine spread around the area, they could hear a small cluster of them talking a little way off. Perfect, surely these equine would let them know if they had indeed landed in the oasis. On occasion they came across tricky spirits who enjoyed misleading them, while the spirit who had been leading them today seemed sincere they did worry just a little that this might be an Aodhian camp.
They paused only for a moment to nudge their packs back into place after the wonky landing and check that all their books were still tied down tightly, running their teke over the brail titles fondly. They then proceeded to trot slowly over to the group, listening keenly as they did so for any hint of weapons or hostility. Apon reach the edge of the small gathering they asked the voices, "Please do excuse my interruption, I was just wondering if this is the oasis? I would hate to have mistakenly landed elsewhere". From the the now clearly audible crowd they assumed they had landed in the correct place, but it was better to be safe than sorry in such times.

Alcaeus; Serora | The Folk
Alcaeus let his eyes drift back and forth between the two horses. He didn’t hide his general interest in the both of them. They had spirit and more to them, which he couldn’t help but enjoying, at least in the small prospects of conversation. Furthermore, both were unique and intriguing. He couldn’t help but let his interest wander. Everyone in Serora wasn’t really bad, but some were more average than others. And some stood out more. He didn’t have a biased against any, but some were more interesting to talk to, needless to say.
Dipping his head, he gave a soft laugh, nodding. “In that case, I do hope your return to battle, if you ever take up arms again, is nothing but in your choice.” He held his own reservations about going back to war, just fighting in general. He had hoped when he had stepped in the sand, that his fights would be over. Yet he wasn’t that lucky. But he always chose to fight when it came to all his past battles. He didn’t want to have to fight for his life because he had to. “I do hope the gods have sympathy for our state, but hopefully we don’t need it.” It was a distant tone, as if he wasn’t quite sure what he was really thinking with that statement.

TAMARAS Tamaras squinted back at Jibriel’s sharp glance, and swished their tail around in protest as soon as Jibriel let go. That didn’t feel very fair, since Jibriel knew exactly how hard this was, and that they were really trying. Maybe they could have tried a little bit more, sometimes, but trying to calm down not one but two anxious minds wasn’t a breeze.
They shut up, however, listening to Jibriel. The hybrid shifted uncomfortably when their gaze turned to the common horse, and a shiver ran down their spine. They stared rather openly, but this one had done nothing but flinch earlier, so there was little reason to react. It was still so odd, trying to wrap their head around how everyone could almost seem like a big family. It felt familiar, in a sense - especially to Aras. Yet they were all so different.
It was almost a relief to shift their gaze from Mordekai to Alcaeus, the pegasi surrounding them feeling a bit like an anchor to the kind of reality they could understand. Jibriel might have been mad at them, but to their surprise everyone else was moving forward rather politely. In quiet, Tamaras appreciated that. It wasn’t until Alcaeus mentioned the gods that they could no longer keep their peace, even ignoring the new pegasus that added to the chatting bunch. Their antlered head tilted slightly, and there was a curiosity so intense the stare was almost unnerving. There was no aggression, just alert confusion.
“Why wouldn’t they? Why wouldn’t the gods help?” Aras asked, side-stepping simultaneously slightly away from Jibriel before he could stop them from opening their mouth. Jibriel had tried to explain the state of things, but Tamaras couldn’t truly understand. They needed to hear it from someone else.

JIBRIEL It was touching hearing the concerns of everyone around him. This war was as cruel and uncaring as any other, and each loss, each family member who did not return, would be felt. He wondered what would happen if they never left the Oasis again. Could it sustain their herd, truly sustain it, for an extended period? For people used to travel and nomadic lifestyles, even the Oasis seemed cramped.
Then, Alcaeus brought up the gods. Jibriel was a little too slow this time, his wing extending and then pulling back as Tamaras spoke once more. The questioning confusion in the hybrid’s voice was almost painful to hear. He had explained it, of course. Several times. But for someone who had flown side by side with Alya and known both her fury in battle and her love towards her winged children… The absence of the gods must have been like a black void. Jibriel’s eyes were sad when he looked at Alceus, but he also nodded at the pegasus, clearly asking him to continue speaking.
Perhaps Tamaras simply needed to hear it from someone else, hear the confirmation. Alya had granted them a terrible weapon to aid in their defense, but Jibriel had his doubts that the goddess herself would take to the fields. It was not impossible of course, and he did not doubt her strength, but… The gods and mortals rarely mixed. Not in this time.
