It all happened too fast... The king’s short speech ceased, pitfighters paraded around the arena, and then BAM! an explosion blasted part of the Crucible’s walls. The explosion rocked the entire coliseum and sounds of joy soon turned into fear-filled screaming and panic. Before she could react, the floor where Maude had been standing by the king crumbled underneath her hooves. It sent her tumbling down into a pile of rubble, narrowly missing a few others who had gone flying with the explosion as well. She did not scream though, instead she barked out an order. " GET EVERYONE TO SAFETY!" It was absolute chaos. There were pitfighters and vindicators running rampant. Maude nearly thought that she was going to have a heart attack at the sight that met her eyes. The vindicators were nasty pests. No matter how much bug spray you put on them, they just wouldn’t die. They had been successful enough to even get into Valore and storm the Crucible, and Maude knew right away that there were some chevaliers she would certainly need to question once the vindicators were captured - or better yet - killed. If the chevaliers were successful in stopping the attack, then none of those nasty pests would see it out of Valore alive. But nevermind that for now. She needed to focus on the situation at hoof. Maude quickly gauged what was around her. A bunch of commoners and a scrawny squire. Immediately, she cast up a force field to protect those that were close enough to her for it. She would need to get them all out in a safe and timely manner - and she would need back up, a simple squire would be of no use to her against the horde of vindicators and freed pitfighters. If they were going to get this back under control, then they would all need to act fast. “ Come with me!” the commander shouted to the group around her, her voice nearly drowned out by the might battle roars of the vindicators and pitfighters around them. - - - - -

Perhaps you’d thought yourself lucky when you’d nabbed front row seats at the Crucible. It certainly felt lucky to be that close to the glorious pit fighters as they spilled into the arena. But then everything had gone wrong: one moment you’d been anticipating the first fight, and in the next, an explosion was crumbling the stone beneath your hooves. You fell into the arena - hard, accompanied by several others that had been seated around you. And now? Now you’ve found yourself in the midst of chaos, plunged into a small war zone as horses battle around you. Luckily, the Chevalier Commander has spotted your group. She fights her way to your group as you pick yourself up from the rubble, and promises to lead you to safety.

At first it was dark. Quiet. Then it all came rushing back. Alarik's ears rang. The blast had knocked him off his feet and into the arena below. Somehow he managed to hit his head on the way down. He opened his eyes, scowling as the light shone into them. Soon the stallion realized what had happened. His vision blurry as the dust started to clear but he could see the dark shapes of the chaos around him. He sat up quickly and saw the small gash on his head, right threw his eyebrow. “Well that’s gonna scar” he said harshly under his breath. A strong female voice barked out and a force field soon formed around the few horses that had fell with Alarik. Glancing up at her, he saw that she was of high stature, probably Chevalier. Alarik looked around the ground. Something glinted in the sand of the crucible. He kicked up the sand and found a pit fighters sword. He sighed a little “Well it’s better than nothing” Picking it up in his mouth and joined along side the boisterous mare that had call for their safety and protection. He glanced at her and nodded. Quickly looking around the Pit he saw the destruction she had fallen into. Alarik hated the crucible with every bit of his body. But he put on a brave face for the few fellow merchants who had made him tag along. He knew no one could know his secret about it. But yet again he didn't want the Pit to be gone like this. For what he knew there could be horses stuck under the rubble. Or worse. DEAD. He stood waiting his orders. _ _ _ || WC:290 ||

Thesis felt like the luckiest squire in the world. He and his family had managed to snag front row seats at the crucible to watch slaves fight in the pit. Plus he felt even luckier noticing Maude, one of the strongest Chevaliers, Dimitri told him once to keep his distance from her, was next to his family. As the pit fighters were paraded into the arena like prized cattle Theo was looking for Brutus and Ghost. Two of his favorite fighters that he often would ask his father to place crystal shards on. But his smile didn't last for long. He didn't register what happened till he had felled down from his high seat into the pit. He heard screaming and explosions as he tumbled down.
Once he landed, and managed to free himself from the fallen debris he looked around. Seeing his family was safely away he signaled for them to go before pushing his way through the crowd to Maude seeing she was giving orders. Hearing her call out telling them to follow Theseus helped get others get to their hooves before following Maude, awaiting his orders.

Valentine was giddy with excitement as he and Liri were sitting in the front row in the Crucible, near a couple of unfamiliar horses and a well-known Chevalier named Maude. They were quietly chatting to one another when the Pit fighters were parading around the arena. When all of a sudden The Crucible was bombarded with explosions. Valentine attempted to shield Liri from the blasts when the front row we were in collapsed into the arena below. Dust and rubble flew everywhere some pieces hitting valentine and the horses next to him. With blurry eyes and ringing ears Valentine slowly looked around the chaotic arena, he quickly located Liri and helped her stand up along with making sure those who were in the same row were alright. Looking over Liri for any injuries, Valentine noticed blood smeared on her but didn’t see anything apart from that. Valentine quickly located the large mare called Maude and nudged Liri towards her and the other two horses that were next to the Chevalier. “Is every one okay?” Valentine asked the others worried that they may be injured.

Explosions rocked the Crucible, the sound of screams and the roar of fire reached my ears. A falling sensation, pain searing down my shoulder. Then, I hit the ground. I opened my eyes, dust dancing around me. Oh Ignacio! What happened? I glanced at my shoulder, seeing red smeared across my dark coat. No green gears though. Thank god! That tattoo toke forever to ink.
Suddenly, I got yanked up and pushed somewhere by someone. I glanced around, locating the one that was pushing me. It was Valentine. Good, he's alright, I thought, letting my eyes wander. We were standing on the edge of the arena, the remains of the front row scattered around us, rubble still flying through the air from the blast. A loud voice called out, deep, but feminine. To the left of us, a large mare stood, silver mane cut short. Maude. Her name is Maude... I thought, feeling dizzy. I must have hit my head in the fall because my vision was in a constant state of blurriness, almost borderline cross eyed. I closed my eyes again, hoping Valentine would lead the way.

Everything was happening too quickly as the Crucible erupted with activity. Asalah wasn't certain of what was going on as she glanced nervously at her sister, a quiet nicker of concern escaping her mouth as the sound of cracking rocks caught her ears. Quiet suddenly, the short and stout draft horse found herself falling amongst the rubble alongside other commoners that had managed to snag such nice spots. Oh for the love of the Gods, why did I let Airita and Evalynn drag me out into this mess? The young mare found herself wondering as she hit the ground with jarring impact. Stars exploded in her vision for a moment as the metallic taste of blood washed over her mouth for a moment. She was certain she had bit her tongue when she fell, the impact causing her entire body to ache. She was certain she was covered in dust and was probably bleeding from various places, but that didn't matter. Slowly, she rose her head, concern for her sisters immediately taking precedence over every other occurrence around her. "Airita!" She called out, turning her head to see if she could find her sister. Luckily, it seemed Airita had landed only a short distance to her right. Relief and fear washed over Asalah simultaneously as she realized that she and her sister had both managed to find themselves in the middle of battle. At least Evalynn was up above with the higher echelon of Aodh society. They would be able to get out of this mess without a problem, though she was certain the eldest of the three horses would worry herself sick if neither of them returned from this celebration. Determined to ensure that the others were okay, Asalah made her way over to her sister, stopping only as a horse called over the screaming horses and fighting. "Come with me!" Asalah's ears flicked back, hooves stomping the ground as she glanced about once more. "Airita, are you okay?" She asked, turning back to her sister for a moment. "We need to get going over towards the other horses... Maybe we can get out of this mess!" She turned expectantly towards the other horse, waiting for her sister to respond. [[WC: 372, Post: 1]]

It was meant to be just having a good time watching the pit fighters. Airita had always enjoyed the fights, and more than once had wanted to work with it. She had gotten herself and Asalah great places in the Crucible, and everything was fine. So it was a bit of a surprise to hear explosions, the ground cracking and suddenly tumble down right into the arena.
A sharp pain went up Airita's knee, and she let out a yelp. There was this weird, buzzing in her ears and everything was blurred, though the pain was the main focus at this point. She grunted as tears flooded her eyes, but refused to cry. She was all for staying where she was, waiting - or rather, hoping - for the pain on her leg to subside. She hoped there wasn't anyone injur-
Asalah!
Where was she? Ignoring her own issues, Airita got back to her hooves, her right front leg unable to sustain a lot of weight, but at least it didn't seem broken or twisted. She shook herself, looking around. "Asalah!" She called, suddenly terrified for her smaller sister. Relief flooded trough her when she noticed they had fallen rather close to each other. "I'm fine, I-" "Come with me!" "I guess." She looked around the arena, quickly spotting the horse who called. Her eyes flickered up for a while, trying to spot Evalynn, with no luck. She was sure she'd be fine, though. Right now the priority was to reach the others.
"Yeah, come on!" She nodded to Asalah, already limping towards the caller. With her sister right by her side, Airita quickly found herself in the middle of the horses who had fallen in the arena. "Anyone hurt?"

With all of them gathered and ready, it was time to go. “Follow me if you wish to keep your lives!” the commander shouted.
There were horses fighting all around them. There was no doubt in her mind that getting these commoners out to safety would be difficult. They had very little time to spare, and Maude had little concern if anyone was alright, so long as they could move. “Stay close,” she warned, casting a glance back to the group. “This force field will only last for so long. We mustn't remain idle!” With her group in tow, Maude forged on.
From the corner of her eye, Maude spotted a vindicator charging right for her. Her force field was immediately dropped as she put her concern on stopping the attacker. Their bodies collided, Maude’s heavy frame sent the vindicator to the ground, and she quickly moved to ensure that this one would not be getting up again. One of her dinner plate hooves came down hard on the vindicator’s neck. There was an audible snap. That should do it, she thought to herself.
“To the slave quarters! Quickly!” The commander charged towards the nearest exit she could see, barreling a path through the fighting bodies. She could only hope the group would follow.

Valentine glanced around at the chaos concerned for everyone from the audience. He followed Maude to the exit while making sure Liri stayed with him and was safe. Valentine grunted when a body hit his, he glanced up at who had just him and snarled at the vindicator. He kicked the vindicator in the chest with a little fire coming out of his hooves and the horse fell over in pain, he continued on without a second glance at the fallen horse. He pushed Liri next to him and shielded her when he needed to.
Valentine glanced in the direction of the slave quarters and nearly groaned in annoyance at the sight of all the fighting that they would have to run through. He continued to run with Liri by his side, another vindicator approached and hit him on the neck causing him to bleed. He turned to the horse and bit down hard on the horse’s neck causing them to fall to the ground. He didn’t have enough time to check to see if the rest of the group was following due he was trying to run though the fighting with Liri at his side.

Rik began to think about his friends, What had become of them. He glanced back again to the areas where he remembered his friends were last. Though there was no sign of Shiya or Einar or any of his Merchant buddies he had come with. He began trotting close behind the group as they moved for the exit, watching his feet for fallen debris. Alarik stopped in his tracks when Maude dropped her force-field and began charging for the vindicator. He took a step back as he noticed other vindicators heading for the group. His somewhat regular breathing came on heavier. The group suddenly split up with some going forwards and other staying in their place. Alarik felt a bump behind him, quickly turning round he was face to face with one of the vindicators. The Piebald Stallion that now stood in front of Alarik gave a devilish smile and proceeded to walk forward. In response Al walked backwards until he couldn’t back up any more. If he didn’t act fast he would be dead for sure. The chestnut stallion closed his eyes tight and swung the sword with a mighty force. There was a few seconds before he opened his eyes again. The piebald unicorn standing in front of him had a shocked look on his face. Then Alarik realized looking at the blade, now covered in blood. Alarik heard him gasping for air and watched as he coughed up blood, then fall to the floor. The blade had passed through his throat, slicing major arteries. Al’s breathing heightened even more. Never had he hurt another horse let alone kill them. He stood in shock dropping the lightweight sword into the now pooling blood below his hooves. He just stood there.Unable to move, glaring at the limp stallion in front of him. It wasn’t long before another would come for him. But it was like he was glue into place, a statue waiting for the unicorn to stand back up. Here quickly spat out a few words. "I hope the gods aren't watching this"-------- Wordcount: 350

Theo watched as Maunde slammed her massive body into a vindicator. He was in a slight awe, he had never seen her fight before and was rather astonished by it. He shook his head till the ringing in his ears dyed down. He then looked to the group and shouted "let's move it!"
The Appaloosa dropped to the back of the small herd and saw from the corner of his eye a Pegasus, to close to the group. While the horse hovered above the group by a few feet theseus pushed his fear to the back of his mind and jumped up. He managed to grab the Pegasus by the throat, he knew he hit the vein when he felt a rush of warm salty liquid wash into his mouth. 'Ignacio let this work' he prayed then summoning up a small spark of lightning, blowing a small hole in the pegasus' throat. As the Pegasus realized what was happened he wobbled in the air trying to breath but with the hole in his esophagus he wouldn't be able to breath again. Theo bit down harder. As he felt their bodies dropping down. He let go right before their bodies collided with the ground. Theo managed to land on his side and pull himself up. He shook himself and looked back the the Pegasus once, blood flooded out of the horse's body the eyes of the enemy looked straight that Theseus, probably cursing him in his last breath.
Theo fumbled on his hooves but finally got to them and took off galloping back to the group.

I was pushed along by Valentine, my shoulder throbbing in pain. We were rushing after the large silver maned mare when the shield we were in suddenly went down. The enemy bombarded us, attacking multiple people in the absence of the shield. Valentine vanished for a second, the smell of burnt hair and blood all around me. Then he was back, leading me again. I could see now without having the urge to pass out but I was still wobbly on my legs and my head still hurt. We were heading towards some sort of door in the side of the arena, the silver maned mare pushing to it through the throng of violence and death.
I glanced around as I was herded towards the door, hoping to see a glance of Einar. There were fighters everywhere, the attackers, chevilars, even the pit slaves were fighting, though some were fighting among themselves. My slave seemed to be holding her own though. No sparky short Fjord to be found though. I sighed in relief as I was jostled away, glad to know that he wasn't down here in the hell that used to be the arena.
I just hope he is okay...

Quietly, Asalah leaned against her sister in comfort, eyes curiously looking up at the older commander as she shouted over the crowd. Concern flooded the younger horse's face for a moment, her ears falling down against her head as she stamped a nervous foot. Turning her eyes upwards, she wondered how Evalynn was doing, and prayed that their other sister was safe. Then, a voice rose above them once more as the commander shouted her instructions. Follow you where? Asalah wondered, her eyes widening a little as she turned back to Airita. She shook her head, it would be unwise to stay quiet and be nothing but the submissive commoner in this occasion. Rising her head, she looked at the others, trying to remember how Evalynn would do, but her voice failed her. Instead, she kept close to the commander to ensure that everything would be okay... but that was before a vindicator collided into Maude -- or at least, that was the name that Asalah believed she was known as... she wasn't exactly all too acquainted with any of the other horses here... her sister aside. Holding back a shriek, the dappled grey mare turned to the others, trying to ensure no other horse was under attack. Then all was still as an audible snap reached her ears. In that instant, Asalah's blood ran cold as she thought about how easily that could have been her own life or Airita's on the ground. Swallowing stiffly she nodded as another command left the older horse's mouth. The slaves quarters had to be close, though Asalah had never personally been there on her own. Casting a nervous glance at her sister, fear bubbled up in her belly. If only she had known what god to pray to, it'd be much easier to believe they'd be okay if there was a deity showing them the way. Quietly, she pressed against her sister once more, hoping that they both would be able to take away some fear of their situation as long as they both were together. "Airita, don't lose sight of me." The horse said softly, taking note that there was more to the group than just the commander, herself and her sister. She wanted to ask if anybody was in need of help... but it seemed as if the group as a whole was doing well... considering their conditions. Post 2 || 397 Words

Whether they choose to follow or not, Maude was not sure if she entirely cared. It was their lives, after all, and if they wanted to be stupid and die, then so be it. Vindicators took notice to those escaping, of course, which meant that their window of escape was short. “GO! GET TO THE SLAVE QUARTERS!” she screamed at the top of her lungs. “May Igancio guide them to safety...,” the commander prayed under her breath before she charged into the slave quarters. She knocked aside two vindicators who had dared to block her path.
The slave quarters were just as full of chaos as the arena was. It seemed quite a few other Aodhians had gotten the idea about the slave quarters. Unfortunately, the slave quarters were even more jammed pack than the arena had been. And in many ways, it seemed more dangerous than the arena due to the tight conditions. “STAY CLOSE!” She barked to those that had followed. Panicked citizens shoved and tried to wiggle past, desperate to escape. She allowed them to move past, shouting at the to get out as quickly as they could. Maude then tried to raise another force field, but her casting was interrupted as a cold spell hit her right in the neck. It caused her to stumble a little, ice chilling her to the bone. “Magic spells,” she cursed. “Watch out for the spells! They do not know if you are friend or foe!” Her warning was drowned out by the sounds of fighting.
The commander forged on, shoving past the frenzied bodies as she tried to clear a path for those who followed her.

Though you managed to escape the arena, the slave quarters aren’t anymore safe. They might even be worse: the quarters are tight, and there are elemental spells whizzing through the air. The chaos is rampant, and the fighting forces can’t discern if you are friend or foe. Maude will shield you as best she can, but you may need to do some fighting yourself if you want to get out in one piece!

Everything was chaos. Airita pressed herself closer to Asalah, but kept following the mare... Maude. Yeah. ... Maybe.
Her eyes had been wider than ever, and she felt as terrified, or more, as during her trip with her sisters from Talori to Aodh. The mare heard Asalah's warning, but in what felt like seconds after, a vindictator charged towards them. Instinct and fear for her sister's life - the audible snap of the neck of some poor soul Maude had reaped didn't help calm her down at all - took over, and Airita stepped in front of her, slamming her full weight on the attacker. Thankfully, it was a smaller, leaner horse, who lost their balance and fell. Without thinking, Airita stood on her back legs, sense being knocked into her seconds before her hooves collided with the vindictator. It had been enough time to keep her from crushing their skull, but a yelp of pain came from the horse whose leg she had just broken.
It felt unreal, the thought that she had nearly killed someone. Sure, she'd been trough a lot at a very young age, but that happened with such frequency during their trip that Airita had gotten used to it. This... It had been quick, explosive, and chaotic. It terrified her.
The Mare Who She Thought Was Maude's voice echoed on her head, eventually bringing Airita fully back to her senses. She turned away from the bleeding horse to Asalah, pushing her towards the slave quarters without a word. Her hooves were trembling with fear, though. Things inside were even worse than before, and Airita immediately felt claustrophobic. Maybe-Maude suddenly shouted somethig she didn't quite catch... Spells? What about spel-
Airita yelped and buckled isntinctively as her hip suddenly exploded in pain. It was quite familiar - Evalynn had burned her several times when she was young - but Airita really disliked fire and that only fueled her terror. The mare kept trying to make the pain go away, moving farther and farther away from where she stood, unsure if her attacker was already gone or was chasing her - were they a vindictator? Or just a scared citizen? - but didn't stop to look. When she calmed down enough, Airita noticed something very important.. Where was her sister? She couldn't see her in the mass of horses.
"ASALAH!" She called, now threatening to cry. Airita knew she had to be strong but her brain was almost short-circuiting. She had fallen inside an arena, had no idea if Evalynn was okay or even /alive/, and now Asalah was gone too. It was just too much.

By the time Valentine and I made it through the door, I could think without feeling like I was going to pass out. Which was fabulous timing as a spear of ice shoot through the air over our heads, slamming into the ceiling above us, cracking the centuries old plaster and stone. Dust and ice shards fell around us, making it hard to see. "We can't stay out here in the open!" I screamed to Valentine, my voice almost lost in the sounds of the battle around us. The dust cleared, revealing the rest of the troupe of Aodhians. The silver mare was battling with the crowd, trying to push through the through of fighting bodies with little success. I looked around for a safe place, spotting an empty slave stall. I shoved Valentine towards it, dodging another ice spike that shot through under my belly.
We bumped into a very confused looking appaloosa as we entered the stall, screaming some person's name over and over. She was terrified, her green eyes shining with coming tears and almost on the verge of hyperventilating. "Come with us!" I yelled at her, motioning to the stall.
Huh. This is actually kind of like a street fight. Except with projectiles and a hundred times bigger. I thought, ducking under another ice shard. Okay. Now who is shooting that darn ice? If I ever find them, I'm going to stick some of their own ice up their a**.

Theseus pushed foreword though the mess of horses, making sure to keep Maude insight. Just as he was about to check to see if the rest of the group was doing fine he was thrown sideways by what he thought was either a boulder or a body. In complete shock theo was unable to register any kind of reaction that could help him and was only able to this 'mother fu-'. He sailed through the air then slid on his side into a wall. Gasping trying to regain his breath Theseus tried to pull himself up but then yelped as he felt a horrible pain travel up his left leg. He refused to look down at the possible mess on his leg, that would be admitting there's a problem.
The chaos was beyond extreme and in this compacted space nothing good was bound to happen. His ears roared as he heard whistles, screams, snapping of bones, and the ripping of flesh. He forced his beaten body up and limped over to the group as fast as he could with out tripping or getting pulled into a fight. His sides heaved with every breath and his light green eyes darted dangerously around the room. He barred his teeth and snapped at a horse coming close to him that he could only assume was an enemy. Then lamely hurried over to Valentine, the only horse he could make out at the moment that he knew was on his side.
'The only way we can get out of this mess is if Ignacio himself comes down and ends it.' He thought.

Valentine barely heard Maude over the chaos around him. He rushed into the door to the slave quarters along with Liri. He ducked when an ice spear embedded itself in the ceiling above them causing rubble to rain down on them. “ We can’t stay out here in the open!” Liri shouted to him. Valentine looked around for any safe places when Liri shoved him into a slave stall. He looked around the chaos and spotted Theseus hurrying over to him with an injured leg, he rushed over to help the stallion to get to the safety of the stall. He had to kick a few flames to some horses attempting to fight him on his way. “Are you okay?” valentine asked the stallion when he got to him, even though he probably knows the answer. He rushed back to the stall with Theseus in tow, occasionally biting and kicking at some horses approaching.
Valentine looked over to Liri “ What are we going to do? How are we gonna get out of this mess?” He questioned worriedly watching the chaos around them.

"We're going to fight." I said, glancing at Valentine. He looked a little sick when I said it, but I didn't hear his reply because I was then suddenly bombarded by a large mare, towering over myself. She reared up, screaming some mumbo jumbo about freeing the slaves or something or other. But I didn't have to worry about what she said, as I was occupied with trying to avoid her massive red stained hooves. Don't even think about it, don't even mention the word, I thought, ducking under them, actually managing to run underneath her large frame. I appeared on the other side of her, watching as her bulk faltered as she slammed into the ground. I glanced around her, spotting the small band of horses we had stashed in the stall.
Suddenly, the mare was crashing into me, sending me skidding into another pair of fighters, one of their hooves glancing off of my ribs. Pained bloomed throughout my side, but I ignored it as I saw the large mare thundering after me. I got up, dashing back towards Valentine and the others, barely missing the mare's snap at my neck as she skidded into the afore mentioned pair. All three crashed to the ground, the sound of hooves hitting stone and flesh filling the air behind me.
"Well, that was interesting." I said to Valentine, now standing next to him like before. "You want to have a go?"

The chestnut stallion stood in silence. Not sure what to do and in shock he glared at the limp body, scared to move. In that second he snapped out of his trance like state at the yelling of the brutish mare that had tried to lead the commoner group to safety. Without a second thought he moved away from the incident, but looking back to find the cold dead eyes of the unicorn staring right into his. Maybe it was his mind playing tricks on him but he couldn't get the image out of his mind. Alarik trotted towards the slave quarters, trying his best to avoid incident. But yet it was his mistake. He believed he was the last of his group to enter the large but overcrowded room and attempted to make his way threw the sea of horses. His body towered over most and his large chestnut frame was visible and more vulnerable than others. The blood from his forehead had covered his right cheek and now begun to dry. He tried his best to follow the others but so many other horses in front of him made it harder and harder to move his lanky legs. In that moment Rik heard Maude cry out again, though the warning was muffled by the space between them. He tried to get closer but found difficulty in doing so. --------------- ||WC: 230||

Theseus finally made it to Valentine and Lilly. Hearing the other stallion ask if he was ok Theo shouted back over the noise "I'm fine." He lied. The air around him cackled from the electricity he was sending off from pure adrenaline that ran through his body. He could barley notice the fact he bleeding the only thing his mind was telling him was to move on to survive. His pale green eyes scanned per the horses looking for the rest of the group and Maude's large body. But the chaos was to much. He kept forward just barley getting out of the way of a horse that fell over. It's throat held a gaping hole where blood poured from soaking it's pure white coat. "We have to get out." He said more to himself as he looked over the chaos.
He turned to look at the older horses, 'I'm a damn Chevalir. I should know what to do.' He swore at himself, but he was also still a kid. "I think we need to get through to the back." He shouted over the other sounds.

The commander just barely managed to duck another ice spell. Magic spells whizzed around and buzzed overhead. She noticed that a few from the group had moved into a slave stall. To get out of the chaos, she assumed. It seemed the majority had followed her into the slave quarters. Though there was one particular chestnut who she could not see. If he valued his life - if they all valued their lives - then he would follow, Maude thought.
The slave quarters were filled with sounds of screams, magic spells. Maude she swore that she might go deaf by the end of this - if there was going to be an end. Admittedly, Maude had underestimated just how bad the slave quarters would be. She had one goal in mind - to get the commoners out- but her plan was not shaping up to how she had hoped it would be. Her group was being disbanded, the foolish commoners were falling behind. But they were commoners, they were not fit for fighting. To be honest, she was surprised that most of them had made it this far.
She felt the floor shake beneath her hooves. Another bomb.
“Keep moving!” she called out, with hope that they could hear her. “There is no time to waste! The Crucible is crumbling! We must get out!”

Valentine paled when she told him that they had to fight more, he wanted no part of this fighting but he did what he had to. “ Not really Liri, but if I need to I will.” He told her tiredly.
Valentine watched Theseus as he finally arrived at the stall and nodded his head when he said he was alright, valentine knew the stallion was lying but said nothing in return. Valentine scanned the stall and saw they were missing someone, he raked his brain thinking of who was missing.” Where’s Alarik?” He called to the others. He swore under his breath and scanned the crowd for the stallion as Maude called out to them to keep moving. His eyes kept scanning the crowd when his eyes finally landed on the large form of Alarik. He nudged Liri “ I will be back Liri, you keep moving and don’t wait up for me. Keep following Maude” He shouted over the chaos to her. He looked at her one last time then turned and started to try to fight his way to Alarik to help the lanky stallion escape the crowd.

Alarik tried his best to squeeze through the stuffy confinements. It seemed more he tried to get past horses the less he seemed to actually moved. Suddenly under his feet the ground began to rumble again. Either it was a part of the building collapsing or another bomb had gone off. The room filled with gasps and cries from the assortment of horses. Alarik wasn’t about to find out what it was, Only that he hoped that his friends were safe. There was an opening gap ahead of him, he took the opportunity and strafed forward. He began to see the group of horses he had attempted to escape with before. Alarik attempted to call out but his voice was dampened by all the other noise and bustle of everyone around. The chestnut stallion gritted his teeth and huffed at the small space. He had, had enough. He barged past a few horses in hopes he could catch up to the group. But next thing he felt was a shock to his neck, his muscles cramped and spasmed knocking him to his knees in a bowing position. He groaned in pain shutting his eyes hoping he could withstand the pain. Then it stopped. Opening his eyes again, finding he has someone standing directly in front of him. It was Valentine. He stood up painfully, and smiled a little and nodded to him. ---------- ||WC: 233||

The sound of her sister crying out caused Asalah to turn back, quickly fighting through the crowd of horses to pull her sister with her. Fear for her sister and herself flowed through her veins, and she bit back a cry for help as other horses battled around her. Cascade, give me guidance to help me save my sister. The younger mare thought desperately, unable to find her way through the masses. Then, she saw Airita fight back another attacker. She bit back a scream and rushed forward, helping her sister until they both followed Maude through the crowds. They both followed the others into the slaves quarters, Asalah occasionally fighting off attackers and helping her sister through the mess. She was not going to lose her or the rest of the group if she could help it, though fear was surging through her as she realized that there was no turning back now. Quickly, with Maude and the others far ahead, she felt lost and concerned, not knowing what to do or say. There was so much going on! Spells, attackers, the constant yelling of other horses, it was almost too much for her little heart to handle. Then she heard another cry above her. A shudder shivered through her as the words sunk in. The crucible was crumbling!? It was unheard of! She glanced behind her, only to realize that the two horses had pretty much been the last to get into the quarters. Quickly, the young mare turned back. "We need to get out of here." She said out loud, though she wasn't sure anybody could hear her. Who in the area was her friend? Her foe? It was hard to tell at this point. Frantic, she tried to find Maude, only to notice that the other horses (whose names she had already forgotten) were further ahead. Afraid she would get left behind, she raced forward, hooves pounding against the ground as she tried to return to the group. She couldn't let her sister or herself get left behind. ((OOC: Asante gave me permission to allow Airta to kinda be NPC'd alongside Asalah getting out of this mess. This will be the only post I'll mention her being here, but I just wanted to clear that up since she's not rping anymore.))

"Okay," I said, watching him jump into the fray. I looked to the others checking to make sure they were okay. As I was turning back, the floor vibrated, accompanied by another boom. Oh gods, not another one! I thought, bracing myself in the mouth of the stall. "Everyone get down!" I said, hoping nothing fell on us. Faintly, I heard the silver bay scream through the chaos, something about getting to the back.
Dust rained down from the ceiling, covering me in a thin layer. I coughed, pinning my ears back. We need to leave. Now. I looked around for Valentine, but, not seeing him, turned back to the small group behind me in the stall. "We need to go. Everyone needs to get to the back and out of the Crucible. It can't take much more of these explosions. Anyone that needs help, ask." I said, looking to each horse in turn. One of them had a broken leg, which I was most likely going to help. I checked my shoulder strength, though the pain was tolerable. More dust fell on us, and I had a bad feeling that if we didn't move now, we may never leave this place alive.
"Come on! We need to leave! Get up and get to the back! The safest place now is outside and away from the crucible!"

The walls were crumbling. A pathway Maude had initially hoped to take had suddenly been blocked off. The frenzy to get out was even worse than before. Desperate bodies shoved, kicked, tackled, and bit, all in a hurry to get out before they were potentially crushed. Maude half expected her group to do the same, but to her surprise, they weren’t. Good. She couldn’t afford to deal with anyone losing their heads.
“Theseus, guard the commoners from the back!” She cast a quick glance over her shoulder, ensuring the young chevalier would do as asked.
Her memory of the slave quarter layout was not a strong as she would have liked it to be, but if memory served her correctly, then an exit was not too far off.
The smell of death was stinking up the air - among many others things. It made her stomach churn. Bodies laid all around them. Some were alive, just barely clinging to life. But, they could not stop for them. If those poor souls were lucky, the search parties would find them later.
“This way!” The commander shouted.
Maude took a turn down another hallway. A vindicator hurriedly released chains from a slave. Maude thundered towards them, ripping the vindicator away and burning into them with a furious heat that came from her eyes. She pushed the vindicator into the wall and brought a hoof to their neck. “Ignacio will punish you in the afterlife,” she hissed, and in one swift movement, snapped their neck. She then looked to slave, who coward with fear. “You will follow me and my group.”
“An exit is not far,” she nearly shouted, addressing her following.
