Prompt: With the Stone Hooves war and the resulting unification of the Onean clans 50 years ago, much knowledge was gained- but some was lost, too. Many hard, lean years followed Garok’s rule, and as a result only the most useful and necessary skills were plied. Eventually the herd settled into its new way of life, and life became easier, but the pivot from aesthetic and specialized trades to more spartan, necessary jobs seemed permanent. Life on the mountain is not easy, after all. But some of the former artisans, the shipbuilders, the book binders, the weavers- they remembered the trades their clans were known for, the beautiful guild halls of old. Artists who transcended mere function, and turned their work into art.
And now, with more food and goods pouring in from the farmlands and Aodh than ever, it seems the War Lord has finally listened, and turned her eyes to the past. She has set a group of merchants (accompanied by a scout of course) to seek out the ruins of a former guild hall, reported to be in the mountains to the north east and, if the source is to be believed, possibly containing records of many of these former glories. Any information at all is useful, the War Lord has told you. Bring me whatever you find.
Location: Traveling from Skeldr Town to the reported location of an old Guild Hall from pre-unification Time of Day: Daytime
You do not have to wait for your leader to post <3

Killiah | Mare Travelling Merchant
The Large mare had slipped from bed as early as she always did, kissing her sleeping girlfriend before heading out the door. She took care to equip herself with her spiked shoes, bracers and polar bear skin as she headed out towards her forge for the morning; she had some time to kill before she had to really go out, a mission for the War Lord. With all the knowledge and skills of a merchant she and a group of others were chosen to search for a mission of olde, she didn't get all of the details as she had been quite drunk that night but they were going to look for some sort of guild hall rumored to be in the northeastern mountains... or was it the eastern mountain?... she really couldn't remember
Once shed finally reached her forge she started to work on some personal projects. She worked till the darkness faded and the cold slowly ebbed away, she was to meet these others somewhere in town and after cleaning up a bit she took her equipment and started towards the edge of town... thats where she supposed they'd be meeting, maybe they would meet somewhere in town?, shed missed most of it unfortunately in her intoxicated state when she was informed...so she had to hope for the best

Yakira | Stallion Scout
Today was the day, the day where Yakira had go out on a mission, a mission for the War Lord. He opened his eyes and rose up from his temporary bed, he went through the information, War Lord had given the group, a few days ago. "We're travelling from Skeldr Town to the reported location of an old Guild Hall from pre-unification" Yakira muttered to himself, he went through the route a thousand times more. No mistakes were allowed. "Any information is useful", "Bring me whatever you find". What was so important in such an old ruin, Yakira thought to himself, his mind was twisting and turning. He nibbled on some grass, before he left and he was on his merry way, to Skeldr Town. Finally, Skeldr town. Yakira walked slowly through the gate. Though Yakira was fascinated by the lively town, he did not let it distract him, he had a mission, and he was going to complete it, and get the group home safely. He saw someone in the distance whom he recognized, a group member, he did not remember her name , his legs began shaking of exitment and nervousness. Yakira greeted the equine with a shaky voice, and waited impatiently for the rest of the group to show up.

Laurent War-forged Merchant Words: 301
Most of Laurent’s ventures were approached with a blatant apathy and callous disregard gain outside of profit. Business is business and at the end of the day it’s the weight in his pocket that matters more than anything. This may be an instance of exception; for once his interest lies in more than just the weight of gold that will come from the venture. Laurent does not profess to be one of interest in history, but the archaic ways of Onea can easily frustrate the merchant. Rigidity almost makes them regressive. Tradition does not feed the children and keep their borders secure. There is something refreshing of stepping into the embrace of Eithne its acceptance of aesthetic over practicality.
Some may profess honor at being selected by the War Lord herself, or duty at the task laid before them for the good of the herd, and yet, Laurent finds he is as disinterested as ever. Still, a degree of favor with the war lord might not hurt business. Connections and socializing have a time and a place and who is he to reject such an opportunity. The merchant had found an inn to rest through the night upon his arrival to town. He slips out quietly and saunters towards the edge of town. Laurent perhaps had been a bit too liberal with his time, ensuring not a hair was out of place before going to greet the group. Presentation is as important as execution and there is no reason to greet his “comrades” with a lackluster appearance.
Already there are two individuals gathered and he studies them each. There is no verbal greeting that passes from his lips, rather Laurent offers a subtle and polite dip of his head to each of them as he comes to a standstill to wait.

Mi'AnoirYou and I will not be shaken By the winter sound
It had been quite a while since the little mare heard from her cousin Hira, and it came as a bit of a surprise when the Warlord had called on her personally to embark on a journey to one of Garok's old guild halls. Though a bit uncertain about how everything would go down, Mi'Anoir quickly took up the challenge. If ever there was a time to prove her worth, it was now.
Pulling her hood down over her head, she sighed heavily, hoping those accompanying her on this venture would be at least a bit open minded about traveling with a blind equine. While she found ways to mitigate and adapt, others in the herd weren't always the most accommodating. In all honesty, she was mildly surprised that she'd managed to avoid being sent off to Eithne all these years. Even so, the Warlord had chosen her, and Mia was honored to join her fellow merchants in this en devour, whether they were hostile towards her inclusion or not.
Calling to Traveler to stay close, she neared the meeting place Hira had given her in the heart of Skeldr Town. The pup responded with a excited bark as he bounded over to the mare, realizing it was time for him to work. Licking her face happily, he easily guided her through the crowds of equines. As they approached the place of meeting, Mia flicked her ears around uneasily, searching for a familiar voice or something to let her know the others were there. Unfortunately for her, if there was anyway waiting on her, they weren't speaking up. Snorting softly, Mia spoke. "Beautiful day for a journey, isn't it?" She asked, her voice loud enough that anyone nearby wouldn't miss what she'd said. She waited for a response, hoping she wasn't standing alone awkwardly shouting at passersby, though with how excited Traveler seemed at the moment, she doubted that was the case.

Soriano | War Forged Merchant
Soriano pushed his filled bag for traveling around Hireath to the side. His winter travels would have to wait. The dark chestnut let out a huff of air, not too pleased with the situation. There was no way he could refuse the opportunity, though, especially with having been asked by Hira. He groaned softly as he pulled his bear skin on and a simple travel pack of herbs and other helpful tools. He finally exited the cave, glancing back at his sleeping family for a second more before embarking to Skeldr town. A quick shiver passed him as he left the warmth of his family's home for the freezing air of the mountains. A faint smile crossed his face as he did so, though. Winter was soon to be coming, and that made the trip a bit more interesting.
By the time Soriano made it to Skeldr, he was grumbling about everyone he wouldn't be meeting over his travels. He enjoyed viewing how the others herds worked, and he had met some interesting horses as well. He perked his ears a bit at Mia's greeting to the three others, recognizing the blind mare from the other day. "It most certainly is," Soriano responded in his gruff, but pleasant voice, to the mare. He looked at the other three. This was going to be an interesting time.

Kiger
The black mare woke with a sudden snort, mane flying in disarray. It took her a moment to get her bearings. Then the memory of a messenger from the other night flooded back into her mind. Hira chose her for a mission! It had almost sounded a bit unreal at the time, and it still did, but Kiger supposed that the War Lord would probably know of most, if not all, citizens passing through her capital.
Speaking of missions...wasn't it supposed to be...today?
She leaped out of bed like a panicked deer and had to restrain herself from jumping straight to the bottom of the stairs. Not only would that result in a huge costly mess, she didn't want to risk twisting an ankle or something dumb before she even got out of her house.
Kiger scanned the dimly-lit back room of her shop quickly. Should she bring something with her? A weapon maybe, or provisions? She didn't know how far they'd be going. Hira's messenger had said it would be some presumed-to-be ruins of an old guild hall from way back when Oneans were still living in clans. She dithered with uncertainty. It wasn't like she owned much gear in general, but she decided to bring a waterskin and a burlap sack. Everything else they could scavenge off the mountains, right?
Well, no use wasting any more time hesitating. She navigated through the narrow aisles cautiously until she reached the storefront and checked the lock. Safe and sound, like usual. With that, she cast one last glance around the dim space before exiting and locking the door securely from the other side.
With the sun already high in the sky, she headed down the main road towards where she assumed a traveling party would be likely to wait. Her hunch paid off, as she spotted a decently-sized cluster of horses standing in the distance. She picked up her pace a little, feeling her face burn in embarrassment. This was the first time she'd been late to anything, and it probably didn't make that great of an impression. As she drew level with the rest of the group, she slowed and began to study the others' markings, in case she lost them or they met again.
There was a lanky orange and white stallion with bold, black stripes who seemed a little nervous but had a determined aura about him; a hooded mare with a pup, and dark chestnut stallion who seemed to know her; a haughty-looking stallion, and... She squinted at the familiar pelt-covered back.
"Hey, Killiah!" she blurted out. "Is that you under that bearskin? I thought I recognized you!"

Killiah | Mare Travelling Merchant
It hadn't been too long of a wait before others started to join her, something she was glad for; rather then standing here on the side of the road by herself looking awkward now she had some company. The first to join her was a rather lanky looking horse, she couldn't tell as they got closer what exactly they were and even when rhey stood at her side she still didn't know. Was that a stallion or a stallion esk mare?, either way she decided they were very easy on the eyes and she had to bite her lip to stop anything rude from slipping out and causing a mess before they had even left yet!
A short while after him a snobish looking stallion joined them, only dipping his head to both in turn as a greeting, Killiah gave him a snort in response. She didnt plan on being looked down on the entire trip, if he wasnt going to speak to her then she wasnt going to speak to him!- The large mare was cut off from her thoughts as two other joined them, first came a firey red mare with a hood and so so much hair, greeting everyone quite cheerfully, 'Beautiful day for a journey, isn't it?', in response a dark chestnut perked up, his reply just as kind as the mare's, 'It most certainly is'. Killiah was already poease with most of the party and couldn't help but grin from ear to ear, "More then a fine day it seems! Just take a look around at our little party and you'll see!" She bobbed her head as she spoke not noticing a dark mare come up behind her
The large mare hadn't even noticed their newest party member til her name was called, forcing to spin around to face where it had come from. Her white face lit up at the site of the little mare and she couldn't stop herself from bounding over to nuzzle her, "Kiger my little friend!" She beamed, her smile widening even more, "How funny of you to recognize me from my fur covered behind ha ha!" She wiggled her hips as she guided the mare to the rest of the group, she was glad to have someone she knew around but who knows maybe the others would become good friends of hers too, the firey red mare seemed to be interesting

Laurent War Forged Merchant Words: 255 Post: 2 One of the first two snorts in response to his greeting and Laurent merely stares at the mare. Silence warrants offense apparently and he must fight the urge to roll his eyes. Already it is proving to be a trying trip with the group that the war lord selected alongside him. Even if he walks out of this with no more friends than before he can’t quite get himself to care. Kaia above may this journey not prove to be as painful as it is appearing to be.
Other begin to gather and Laurent takes in each of them with the same sort of quiet apathy. One individual speaks loudly and a brow raises at her but he decides to offer a verbal response. “Yes a good day indeed,” he says just a tad bit loudly so the other mare might hear him as he goes back to studying the group who shares the assignment. Cordiality seems to happen all around him but he still can’t find himself to warm up. Friends greet one another, others chirp greetings to their comrades and he remains lingering in relative silence. Internally he assesses, weighing what might win him the most benefit. Friendship is not a particular necessity and he can’t see much benefit to drawing close beyond a sort of professional relationship, nonetheless, he might as well display some level of openness. Like it or not, these are the individuals that Hira has deemed his partners on their journey and he will take in stride and adapt.

Yakira | WF Scout | stallion Word count:235 post: #2
More began joining the group, finally. Yakira felt uncomfortable next to this tall and intimidating mare, discreetly glancing at him whilst biting her lip. Yakira pretended not to notice. A beautiful buckskin who cared a lot about his appearance, not a single strand of hair was out of place. He seemed quite reserved thought Yakira, only a polite nod to him and the mare next to him. A puppy and presumably its owner, a stocky pony with a voluminous mane, approached the group of now three. "Beautiful day for a journey isn't it?" the pony asked. Before Yakira could answer, a heavily scared stallion came from side and responded "It most certainly is" The scared stallion inspected the small gathering with a blank expression. "Hey, Killah!" Yakira promptly turned his head to see a sleek coal-black mare. "Is that you under that bearskin? I thought I recognized you!" The intimidating mare, or Killah, 's face lit up upon seeing the black mare. "Kiger my little friend!" Her eyes lit up like Christmas lights and her smile reached her ears. "How funny of you to recognize me from my fur covered behind ha ha!" Killah shook her fur covered bum at the black mare, kiger. Yakira couldn't help smiling at the two. The intimidating mare didn't seem all that intimidating anymore! He introduced himself to Killah and Kiger began to small talk with the two friends.

Cosmos | Stone Circle
It was a pleasant morning, the stallion found. Waking up with the sunrise, Cosmos took a deep breath inhaling the fresh mountain air. Today the Stone Circle member was headed out on a mission. As instructed by Hira, Cosmos would gather all of the information they found in the historical guild hall. As always, Cosmos had rough information on all of those attending the important mission, the bunch was certainly an interesting one, a large mix of merchants plus a scout to accompany them to the rumored location. As he got himself out of his house he wondered what the journey would possibly have in-store for the group. Hopefully they would indeed be successful.
Heading towards the edge of town, Cosmos instantly noticed the gathering bunch of equines. A few had puzzled looks on their faces, clearly eager to learn about what they might find as he was. Making it to the group Cosmos gave a nod of his head. "Good morning all. I hope we've all had a pleasant nights sleep. Almost everyone is here I see, I don't wish to lose any daylight. I pray Marea arrives soon." He said with a hint of a stern tone.

Soriano | War Forged Merchant
Soriano watched as a blue roan joined their rag tag group of merchants. The pale buckskin, Laurent if he remembered correctly, was already getting under his skin. He hadn't spoken to the other stallion, nor heard him talk, there was just something that vexed the dark stallion. He looked to the blind pony. ”Mia, how has Enigma been? I haven't seen him, despite keeping an eye out for him,” Soriano asked, turning his attention to her. He had encountered her when an avalanche came and trapped them inside of Marco’s shop. It had been an interesting time, but he felt he had made new friends.
He glanced to the striped scout. He'd never seen him around, but he felt he knew the name. Soriano looked to the others. There were quite a few mares, something he was a bit relieved about. He doubted he'd be able to travel with too many stallions, even the few others in their group. This was going to be one interesting trip to find the ruins. He prayed to Kaia and Alya that the trip would be safe, Strom free, and that they would lose anybody, no matter how annoying they were.

Kiger
She smiled back at Killiah, and returned the nuzzle. "Of course! I'd recognize that bearskin anywhere!" she said mischievously, remembering the first time they'd met. It had been a few months ago, on a wild goose chase for a reincarnated kirin while accompanied by a giant of a murderer. It'd been awhile since she'd seen the others, she reflected. Kiger allowed the larger mare to usher her into the group while giving everyone another quick glance. She tried to remember if the messenger had mentioned anyone's names, but much to her embarrassment, she couldn't recall--even though she was sure they'd said something about her other group members. Looks like she'll just have to figure it out as they went. The striped stallion seemed to relax a bit upon her arrival, and he scooted over to introduce himself as Yakira. Kiger tried not to make it so obvious as she admired his stripes--his markings just popped. It wasn't every day that she saw a horse marked like he was. The pattern was really quite unusual. From his stature, she assumed he was a scout--most scouts she saw were more lightly built and nimble, as compared to her own middle sized build. He might have some real tips to teach her on this trip, instead of her typical poor attempts at wandering around the nearby woods looking for interesting things. As they made some small talk, a heavyset blue roan unicorn arrived. She responded shyly to his greeting of "good morning"--even after all these years here, she still felt awkward being among so many equines at once; however, she pricked her ears at his mention of Marea. "Marea? She should be coming soon," she assured the larger horse. The other mare had also been a part of the kirin discovery, and she remembered her pretty brown face well, even though they hadn't really talked since. She cautiously eyed the newcomer's strangely-shaped horn as she returned to her original conversation--it was rather unlike most unicorns' horns she'd seen before, but she had to admit it was a very pretty color. The stallion had a slight air of importance compared to the other strangers, so she didn't dare look long. Should I know his name? she wondered. He doesn't carry himself like the chestnut or the buckskin. Then again, she didn't know too many horses, since she was almost constantly holed up in her house and shop. Kiger stifled a sigh and shifted impatiently on her hooves. She watched the chestnut speaking to the hooded pony with the dog-- Mia, he'd called her. She'd need to remember that later. She temporarily eased away from Yakira and Killiah to face the stony-faced buckskin merchant. " So," she began, hoping she didn't sound as nervous as she felt, " what's your name?" Post 2 WC 465

Marea Mare / Traveling Merchant / War-Forged
The chestnut mare cursed under her breath as she tossed the last of her supplies into her saddle bags. Her dagger was strapped securely in place already, and her bags soon joined the blade on her flank. With all her preparations complete, she swung open the wooden door of her small cabin and strode down the well-worn steps, breaking out into a brusque trot once she merged onto the main path. She spared no parting glance behind her; her house would be just fine without her and she felt more at home on the road anyway.
A radiant sun shone brightly above Skeldr, and Marea knew she was late. She heard the chatter of the group before she saw them, a dull buzz that morphed into varied speech as she rounded the corner of a building. Various merchants, some she recognized and others she did not, milled around the town square, along with a couple others she hadn't met before. They must be the Scout and Circle member who were accompanying them. Everyone seemed prepared, and now that Marea had finally arrived at the meeting place, the buzz of excitement she felt last night began to return to her. The prospect of rediscovering hidden knowledge, secrets that had been lost to the ages while the war-Forged had fought amongst themselves - it was more than tantalizing. Any merchant worth their salt had an eye for precious goods, and knew that sometimes the most valuable things weren't quite as simple as gold and jewels. Information and knowledge won wars.
"Good morning everyone," she announced, approaching the group, "I hope you can excuse my tardiness," she apologized with a dip of her head. First impressions were important, and she could kick herself for losing track of time on such an important day, but she had had a busy evening last night trying to tie up lose ends before they embarked.

Mi'AnoirYou and I will not be shaken By the winter sound
"It most certainly is."
A familiar voice responded to the little mare's question a rather giddy smile began to play across her lips. "Soriano is that you? It's been too long. " She chuckled softly, flicking her ears about as more conversation started up around her.
”Mia, how has Enigma been? I haven't seen him, despite keeping an eye out for him,”
"He's been off on his own as usual, though with winter on the way, I imagine he'll be along shortly too." She smiled. Enigma was just as his name suggested, and though she loved the stallion, he had the soul of a wanderer and could not be tied to one place for long. Still, she relished the winter season as he always returned home to her then.
"So how have you been? Business been good?" She asked, tilting her head inquisitively at the stallion. As she waited for a response, she heard another, less familiar voice as heavy hoofsteps approached the group.
"Good morning all. I hope we've all had a pleasant nights sleep. Almost everyone is here I see, I don't wish to lose any daylight. I pray Marea arrives soon." Mia swiveled an ear towards the stranger, sure she'd heard the voice before but unable to place it.
"Aye indeed!" The little merchant responded. "I slept like a baby, and I'm more than ready for the day's journey." She smiled, facing where the stranger presumably stood. Mia opened her mouth to speak again when a small bark from Traveler cut her off, alerting her to another equine approaching the small party.
"Good morning everyone, I hope you can excuse my tardiness," The new voice spoke rather politely.
"It's no trouble, we haven't been waiting long at all." Mia stated reassuringly. "And now that you're here, I believe that's all of us." She said with a smile. "If there are no objections, I propose we get going while the day is still young."

Killiah | Mare Travelling Merchant
Killiah seemed a little put off when her little friend Kiger wandered off to speak with someone else, sure the black mare had given her a great response to her greetings but without the company she became a little bitter. She listened to all the conversations around her, all new voices and faces amongst it all... She'd thought the last mission she went on was full of oddities, these ones seemed strangely normal. She did her best to keep keye of the conversation till the oast member of their troop arrived apologizing for being late; she recognized the chestnut but decided not to dwell on it and instead pushed herself to the front of the group, "Now we are supposedly all here, I'd say I agree with Mia. And have no further objections" she stated, taking the small mares name from the stallion who'd spoken before
"Time is money, we should leave now before it gets too late. I really don't see why we need to stay any longer do you?". Being her snobbish self she flicked her ears as her face contorted to a frown, he bicoloured eyes searched out each and every member before sweeping away as she turned to head out of town, "If Mr Stone circle would care to lead?" She motioned for the older stallion to take up the front, then glanced back at Kiger, "Come on little friend I'd love a chat alone the way", she smirked now and looked down to Mia, "You to Mia, can't have someone new and sexy wander away from me eh?", she gave a chuckle now as her bitterness melted away

Laurent War Forged Merchant Words: 266 Post: 3 Clearly there is a familiarity that Laurent lacks. Many of the faces around him know one another by name and he couldn’t place one of them. Perhaps it is his own undoing due to his preference for solitary work. His frigid demeanor probably does little to benefit him within his own herd, as he preferred to rub elbows with customers in Eithne over his own people. So as the others mingled, socialized and conversed he remains stuck in his own mind, analyzing the group. Hopefully they can at the very least work well as a team even if most seem to rub some part of his nerves, some more than others but he still holds his tongue.
Laurent spots the final arrival and dips his head to her, disguising his annoyance at the tardiness behind a cool guise. One would think that she’d have the decency to arrive on time when it is the war lord herself who called them to this. The lack of professionalism grates his nerves to a new level. Kaia give me patience because I am unsure if I’ll survive this trip, Laurent thinks to himself.
At last, someone calls them to push onward. ”Yes, let us get on the road. No reason to waste anymore time or daylight,” he speaks at last. When the mare, who he’s since picked up is known as Killiah, casts her eyes over the group he greets her look with a subtle glare. Laurent flicks his tail, dark hair splaying over his flanks as he waits impatiently for the rest of the group to begin moving.

"Yes, thankfully," Soriano said, responding to Mia's question. "I've met some interesting equines in my travels. As always." He kept his answer short, and lucky he did as their final member joined them. He eyed Mia up with his orange eyes. The dark stallion gave no response to her as she spoke. He was itching to get a move on. Soriano had also watched the exchange between Kiger and Yakira, along with Killah's reaction to her friend shifting her attention. This certainty was going to make for an interesting trip.
"Time is money, but if you live by that, you'll miss the small things in life," Soriano said, looking to Killah. "I do believe it is time to head out, as Mia suggests. We don't want to stand around waiting for winter." He blew a huff of air through his nostrils. This was going to be a long trip. Kaia and Ayla alike, help him and this motelycrew of merchants. The scarred stallion eyed Laurent up once more, taking note of his subtle glare to the mare. Soriano rolled his eyes a bit. This was going to be a long and interesting trip.

Kiger
It seemed as if the words had scarcely left her mouth when their final straggler arrived, which distracted her from whatever might've been said next. She offered Marea a reassuring smile, although she herself was secretly relieved she hadn't been as late as she originally thought. "It's alright," she said. "The ruins aren't going to go anywhere...or well, hopefully, it doesn't."
She flicked her ears in Killiah's direction when she heard her name being called again. "Okay! I'm coming, I'm coming," she called back, picking her way between the other horses to stand near the taller mare and rolling her eyes at her flirty comments. Killiah never stops, huh, she thought in amusement. She tilted her head as the other mare asked if the blue roan would like to lead them. He's a Stone Circle member? That certainly explains a lot, she thought in mild surprise. She resolved to keep that in mind in the future. I should spend less time holed up at home, I guess.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the brightly colored pony. "I believe that's all of us," Mia said to the group. "If there are no objections, I propose we get going while the day is still young."
"Yes, we probably should," Kiger said softly to herself--her little muttering was drowned out by the others' much louder agreements.
"Time is money," Killiah was saying, only to be somewhat lectured by the liver chestnut stallion. She supposed he was right, though. I guess, she thought.
"Well, no use standing around," she said a bit louder. And squabbling, she added privately to herself. She didn't miss the buckskin's bad-tempered glare back at Killiah's sweeping gaze, and sighed inwardly. It was already looking to be a long journey.
The black mare went ahead and broke into a brisk trot, heading down the street and out the town gates, hoping the others would follow instead of arguing or what-have-you. She couldn't really tell if they were actually following or if it was just her own hoofbeats, because she was too busy being lost in thought again.
Do you see me now, mama? she asked. I'm going on a mission! The War Lord sent for me herself! I hope you're proud of me, wherever you are.
She paused where the first little path broke off windingly into the pine trees so she could wait for the others. "So," she said, "where to?"

Mi'AnoirYou and I will not be shaken By the winter sound
The pony listened intently as the voices around her seemed to all ring out in agreement with the sentiment. Traveler bounced happily nearby, excited to get moving once more, as Mia tugged her cloak a bit tighter around herself. "Well then, lets be off. I have a map here for once we get off the road, if one of you would be so kind to read it. I'm not too great with maps myself." She chuckled at her private joke as she began walking in the direction of the road that would lead out of Skeldr Town, or at least she was pretty sure she was headed in the right direction.
A gentle nudge from Traveler along with the sound of her companions hoofsteps nearby let her know she was on the right track as she continued walking, allowing the pup lead her easily around the horses milling about the town. A voice from slightly ahead of her called back, addressing the little pony. "Come on little friend I'd love a chat alone the way. You too Mia, can't have someone new and sexy wander away from me eh?" The painted mare laughed at the comment, the mare's flirtation reminding her of her dear Enigma.
The small group took the winding road out of the city, traveling for almost an hour before they reached a fork in the road. "So, where to?" A mostly unfamiliar voice asked. Mia flicked her ears around as she listened, trying to place a name with the voice, but failing quite miserably.
"Well, from the verbal directions I was given by the War Lord, I'd say left is our best bet. Should only have another few hours on the road before we need to find the old trails." Mia snorted softly as she spoke, reminding Traveler to stay close. She swiveled her ears around listening for some sort of response as she started trotting down the left pathway.

Cosmos;War-Forged | Stone Circle if you wish to move mountains tomorrow, you must start lifting stones today The last mare finally arrived, she even apologised for her tardiness. "It's no trouble, we'll just make up for time on the road." He told her with a warm smile. His main hope for the day was that everyone would work together with the least amount of friction possible. He frowned to himself as he looked about the group of merchants. It was unlikely to be an easy feat. He picked his mood back up again as the talk of getting moving began. He was very intent on that idea indeed. "If Mr Stone Circle would care to lead?" The young merchant directed at him. He scoffed at the title but gladly obliged.
The darker merchant took off ahead of the group and Cosmos wondered if he should mention that wouldn't be a smart idea down the road. He flicked his ears, no, these merchants were used to the harsh climate, they'd work it out. Mia mentioned a map and Cosmos gladly offered his services, "It'd be my pleasure." He told the young mare. "Yakira, are you familiar with these trails at all? Or would you prefer to bring up the rear?" He asked the accompanying Scout. It would be good to have a stallion with even a little knowledge on the area with them.
They reached a fork in the road to which Mia suggested they head left. Cosmos still recognized the area they were in, but it wouldn't be long before he was in unfamiliar territory. He was both intrigued and concerned for what the trail held.

Yakira| WF scout | stallion
"Good morning all. I hope we've all had a pleasant nights sleep. Almost everyone is here I see, I don't wish to lose any daylight. I pray Marea arrives soon."
A stallion with a most interesting horn said sounding quite cheery. The black mare Kiger wandered off mid conversation, over to the newcomer. Yakira was suspicious of this act, however he presumed it was with good intention. He continued the conversation with killah who also seemed surprised by Kiger's actions, Yakira grew more tense since he still felt uncomfortable when alone with Killah. He grew more and more quiet until it was only Killah who talked. He took the time to inspect everybody.
He knew most of the group were merchants except, himself, another and stallion, who is a part of the stone circle. Yakira looked at the newcomer, he seemed to give off a different feel than the others, he seemed more.. confident? Yakira was quite sure that the little pony was the leader of the group. The leader and another stallion were talking together they definitely knew each other.
Yakira looked behind him. A chestnut mare was approaching. "Good morning everyone," "I hope you can excuse my tardiness," Yakira found the mare's coat very appealing, when standing in the sun, the coat color turned from brown to a glowing copper color. The presumed leader turned to the chestnut. "It's no trouble, we haven't been waiting long at all." The leader stated reassuringly. "And now that you're here, I believe that's all of us." She continued with a smile. "If there are no objections, I propose we get going while the day is still young." Yakira agreed by nodding his head enthusiastically. "Time is money, we should leave now before it gets too late. I really don't see why we need to stay any longer do you?". Killah stated in a snobbish tone "If Mr Stone circle would care to lead?" She continued, Yakira rolled his eyes at this comment. She looked at Kiger. "Come on little friend I'd love a chat alone the way", Now Killah looked at the leader. "You too Mia, can't have someone new and sexy wander away from me eh?" Yakira was throwing up in his mouth, this is both disgusting and disrespectful! Yakira thought to himself. Hopefully I won't be a victim of this behavior. Yakira looked over at the leader, Mia. Luckily she seemed not to mind Killah's inappropriate comment. ”Yes, let us get on the road. No reason to waste anymore time or daylight,” "I do believe it is time to head out, as Mia suggests. We don't want to stand around waiting for winter." "Well, no use standing around," The others agreed.
Finally the adventure could begin.
"So where to?" Kiger asked when reaching a path separating into two. "Well, from the verbal directions I was given by the War Lord, I'd say left is our best bet. Should only have another few hours on the road before we need to find the old trails." Mia answered, before trotting onto the left path. Yakira was about to protest when the stone circle member spoke "Yakira, are you familiar with these trails at all? Or would you prefer to bring up the rear?" to which Yakira answered "I indeed am, or at least half of it" Yakira answered. "I love the area here, beautiful landsc-.." Yakira stopped himself from rambling about the nature. He cleared his throat. "I'd suggest going right, it is the safest route of the two, not as many bridges which are half broken, however it is also the longest. It doesn't matter which we take since they lead the same trail." Yakira looked around "I'd much prefer to go in front, for everyone's safety.." He looked at the members of the group, patiently waiting for a response.

Soriano listened carefully to the conversation between Mia, the roan, and the striped stallion. He had decided to ignore Killah's note to Mia as the painted pony laughed it off. To be honest, it reminded him a bit of Engima. He watched as Kiger began to go down the road, before turning his attention back to the group. "I can also help with the map reading, Mia," Sori offered to the pony. He turned to look at Cosmos as he spoke to Yakira. The dark stallion listened to the younger scout as he talked of the two paths. A slight shiver went down his spine as Yakira mentioned that some of the bridges were broken.
"If the right is safer, we should take that path. It'd be best for everyone, since we can't be getting injured and unable to sell our wares," he reasoned. He looked to the others, hoping that some of them would agree. Soriano was sure that some would be unhappy about taking the longer path, but if it was safer, he'd take the longer route. He looked to Cosmos after Yakira mentioned he'd prefer to take the front "I can take the rear. I'm not all that familiar with the paths, but if something decides to come after us, it'll just be a few more scars to my hide," he offered. He'd also feel better being able to see everyone in front of him as well, but he wasn't going to say that.

Killiah | Mare Travelling Merchant
Killiah listened to the others chat as they finally set off on the road, afew offered to help with a map but she didn't really pay attanetion to who all she heard was a fluster of voices that didn't really sound all too happy for their trip. As Kiger picoed up her pace so did Killiah, her long legs easily keeping up with her companions shorter strides, "Anyway how you been since that Kirin incident little friend?, it's been a while", killiah decided to start up a conversation of her own as they ventured into the forest on their 'quest'. It was true the War Lord had chosen her to go because of her keen eye for expensive things but if she had of been told it wouod take almost all morning just to leave town then she would have said no or stayed in bed longer... what was Hira thinking?. She flicked an ear at the thought and returned to attention to Kiger hoping she hadn't missed the mare speak otherwise she'd be in deep trouble

Kiger
She scraped a dark hoof at the dusty road as the others debated on which fork to take. Of all the places they were headed off to, this would be one of the roads she never had the guts to explore on her own. It was just...in the direction of many conflicting memories, that was all. And the farther she got from town, chances were, she'd be all the more likely to fall into some sort of trap. So she was actually more than happy to just let the others (who knew more, after all) duke it out amongst themselves, though she did think Yakira's route sounded safer...not that she knew much about either path, though. She gave a thoughtful nod in his direction regardless. His mention of bridges just made her think about her mom, which made her glad when Killiah caught up to her and started talking. "Anyway how you been since that Kirin incident little friend? It's been a while," the other said. " Awhile indeed," Kiger replied, twisting her neck around to look at the taller mare. " I've been fairly well, though, as well as anyone Forged could be in these trying times, eh?" At that, she couldn't help but be reminded of some worrying rumors she'd overheard recently. " I hear the...Bloody Flanks, as they're called, are on the rise, and that there's been quite some disturbance in one of the outer villas, but I don't really know enough information to dwell on it," she confessed. " Best I can do is keep my guard up and do what I'm told..." She shrugged in Mia's direction. " Like this mission."The black mare nervously flicked her ears around and raised her muzzle into the soft autumn breeze to take a few cautious sniffs--one could never be too guarded while out of town, after all.

Marea Mare / Traveling Merchant / War-Forged
Marea dipped her head as a few of the others excused her delayed arrival, and held her tongue as a few others let their frustration show through in the form of snide comments. It was always a dangerous mix to have so many merchants together in one place; too many sharp minds and tongues would end up going at each other to keep things entirely civil. But it was far too early in their journey for Marea to let her pride get the best of her.
She fell into step with the group and noticed an extravagantly marked stallion looking her way. She didn't recall ever seeing him before, surely she would've remembered a coat like that if she had. Marea offered him a small smile, but didn't have to chance to do much more as the unicorn who had greeted her a moment ago began to speak. Marea's ear's perked as he acknowledged himself as the member of Hira's Stone Circle, simultaneously taking on the mantle of leader as he did so. He further identified the striped stallion as the group's Scout, and Marea felt a bit more content knowing these two were charting the course. The Scout may look young, but that didn't necessarily mean he was clueless. After all, Hira must have chosen him to accompany such an out-of-the-way expedition for a reason.
She weighed the options as the Scout explained the terrain each of the two paths had to offer, and she found herself agreeing with another stallion who spoke up first. "I think the safer, longer route would be best as well. No need to break a leg this early on in the trip."
No doubt in Marea's mind that broken bridges were going to be the least of their worries, what with the return of the Flanks and all the strange rumors floating around town of pirate ships and disappearances, so they might as well save their strength and wit for the more colorful challenges that would surely present themselves along the way.

Mi'AnoirYou and I will not be shaken By the winter sound
Mia's ears flicked back against her skull as she heard the others disagree with heading left. Of couse they would.... She thought to herself. War Lord says one thing and half the herd thinks they know better. She huffed softly, wheeling around on her heels to catch back up with the rest of the group who seemed dead set on heading right. Oh well, she'd concede the point this time... At the end of the day she didn't mind safer. But when they showed up later than the War Lord was expecting, well, she was washing her hooves of it all.
"Whichever way we're going, we really should get moving..." Mia muttered under her breath as she let Traveler lead her through the group to the right pathway, "We're burning daylight as it is." She snorted as she continued along, not bothering to check if anyone was following. Even if that stranger wanted the lead, it wouldn't be difficult for him to outpace her and her tiny legs at this point. It wasn't like she was blessed with hyper speed. The pony chuckled at the thought as she continued along, swiveling her ears about in anticipation of her companions responses.

Cosmos;War-Forged | Stone Circle if you wish to move mountains tomorrow, you must start lifting stones today Cosmos nodded at Yakira as he offered to take the lead. He slowly dropped his way back, happy to take up the rear to keep an eye on things. There was a mild scuffle about which direction they should take and Cosmos happily let the merchants work it out. He was simply eager to get going and complete the mission his War Lord had tasked them with. "Burning daylight we are indeed. We'll just have to pick up speed further along the road." He chuckled as he watched Mia's small form trot away, clearly miffed about her directions being undermined. In his mind, so long as he got there, Comos was happy. Trotting to keep up with their group Cosmos kept the rear, keeping his eyes peeled for any suspicious activity, both into the forests and amongst the various merchants. It was amazing nothing had boiled over between them already.
As they moved forward along the track Cosmos began pondering his own thoughts. He was eager to expand his knowledge further than what the current clans knew. He desired that knowledge and desired even more so to be the one to report back to Hira. With all of the crazy going abouts, finally getting a new leg to step on would be helpful for his herd. Who knew what the next few months would bring, were their threats close, with the Bloody Flanks, or further away, lying in the sands of Serora? Cosmos was deep in thought as they moved along, but certainly not unaware.

Killiah | Mare Travelling Merchant
Killiah flicked an ear in the direction of the other merchants as she listened to Kiger, her little friends seemed worried about the Bloody flanks and afew other things which was understandable but at the present time there was nothing to worry about. They were on a mission for the War Lord and Kiger needed ti know that, "I understand how you feel little friend but just remember that you'll be fine so long as you stick close to me! Ill make sure your safe and are able to get back home to Skeldr. How's that sound?" She nudged Kigers neck, putting on a little pressure to reassure the black mare before she skipped forward following after Mia; there was alot on everyone's mind but she was content to make everyone comfortable and Kiger feel safe
"Well stay to the front and be fine Kiger!" She called. The large mare hoped they would find something good or valuable for them to take and sell, maybe tepestries or endless piles of gold... she found herself drooling at the thought, all that money wpuod set her for life

Soriano hung back a bit, letting everyone else go in front. He ended up walking beside the roaned stallion. "Everyone's worried about the Bloody Flanks, but that's because they finally have enough horses to do something about the position that Hira put them in years back," he said, his ears and eyes scanning the path. He made sure to speak loudly enough that the mares leading the way could hear him. The scarred stallion thought back to his most recent trip round Hireath. He had avoided Talori, as they had been overrun by Vagabonds recently, but he went everywhere else.
Soriano looked over to Cosmos, eyeing up the drafty stallion. "I think home is where we need to be the most worried. The other herds have their own problems that they're trying to solve, best we not get too involved in them," he said, picking up on the other's thirst for knowledge at this point. He huffed a bit. "No use in worrying about a herd that's a long trip away, nothing good comes out of it except some money and maybe a new scar," Soriano said. He looked to Cosmos now. "You haven't really seen much of what these lands has to offer us, you've been fairly safe up in the mountains. Slavers don't care if you tell them you're a merchant, you look sturdy, they want you for the pit." The dark stallion picked his pace up a bit to avoid further conversation with any of the others. He felt like he'd already spoke too much for the next week.
