Kiger
The snow was finally starting to numb her hooves as she followed the others at a moderate canter. At some point she still managed to zone out, until she heard an involuntary cry and snapped to attention just in time to see Greer skid out of sight down a slope. "Greer!" she called as the opening between the trees came into view. The other mare didn't respond, but as she hesitated following, she spotted Nimerah and Emerin crowding around the fallen mare, and decided that she was in good hands. A faint hint of blood tinged the air, and she suspected Greer's wound reopened--she didn't really understand much else about healing to think any further.
Then a few things happened almost all at once.
First, she heard Killiah saying something about her pelt--Kiger realized she'd forgotten she even had it. Ah, there goes her priorities again, she briefly thought in amusement, tugging the polar bear skin closer to her body. Second, she heard Greer shouting at the short pegasus, who suddenly reappeared in her line of sight to dive-bomb the thing they were chasing, which she finally got a better glimpse of. It was red, it had antlers, and something glinted dully off the upper half of its neck amid the pony's flailing wing feathers. She barely registered the fact that the smell of "probably-been-dead-for-a-few-hundred-years" scent was coming from...it before a huge mass of gag-worthy gray flesh barreled past her and made contact with the creature's body, ramming it against the nearest tree.
True to the nature of surprise, she gave a startled yelp and twisted aside when the old stallion had thundered past, but regained her footing relatively quickly. All too soon she saw the glint in his eye and realized again that the ex-clans-beast was perfectly intending to kill it.
"Stop him!" she yelled ahead as he circled the fallen animal threateningly.
She saw Killiah barrel past and try to knock him off balance first, right as he leaned his full weight onto his hind legs. It felt like she'd only blinked before she saw that Greer'd suddenly planted herself firmly in his way, daring him to continue. Kiger herself wasn't nearly as daring as they were, but she was finally close enough to appraise their quarry for what he was.
Gods be good--were mother's stories really true after all? she thought as she pulled up to a stop slightly off to the side. She pawed her hoof into the snow and snorted, though she momentarily felt childish for the action. With a tree flanking her and the others on the opposite side, they'd notice early on and have time to scatter if the ex-raider tries to attack the kirin again.
"You can't just kill him," she said through clenched teeth, surprised at her own courage. "He's clearly not just a strange deer! If the stories are truly what they claim, he would--he'd be more valuable alive anyway!" Oh, she hated that suggestion the second she dropped it. But perhaps it was necessary.

~Emerin~
>>>>|Stationary Merchant| >
Emerin looked down in shame when Judiah told her that they might kill the poor creature if they kept up like this and her stomach twisted when the grampa, Faust intervened into the situation. The young mare's ears twisted. No matter how much her father told her not to piss this guy off she simply had to disobey him. The darn fool wanted to kill the stranger. To her the stranger was mortal and not just some kind of animal.
When some one shoved the gramps off, he surely didnt stay off.I guess that this is a job for me to handle. She thought herself. Gods forgive me. She prayed before opening her eyes upon the old stallion "Get off of him!" She whinied before pushing him off with nothing but her brute strength and power. Before the old stallion could sink his teeth in her neck she sliped away and looked down ath the stranger before looking back to faust. "Some way to treat a stranger. By the gods where are your manners, old man?!" She snorted out at him. She then moved to the equine laying on the ground. "Im sorry for our behavior. Its just your kind is supposed to be extinct...If I may ask what is your name?" She said softly and sorta flirted with the stranger.

Nimerah WF | Medic Nimerah had offered herself for support, but Greer was quick to stand on her own, and once again, bolt off. "No! Greer, wait! You shouldn't-" Nimerah called after her, but the gray mare was already too far to hear. The worried frown Nim had barred, now turned into more of an annoyed one. 'UGH! Go ahead, then! Bleed yourself to death...' She thought with frustration as she moved into a trot. Sure, her simple treatment just now should stop the bleeding and prevent infection, but not when you go running around the forest! The sooty mare thought of her teacher, Anna. How she would probably scold her for letting a patient go like that. The image of the small pony tackling Greer for the greater good of healing played in her mind. Just momentarily upping the mood of the whole situation.
But that definitely didn't last. As Nimerah saw the group up ahead, just catching a glimpse of the drama playing out. Her heart tightened when she saw the large old stallion about pummel down upon the downed elk creature, and it caused her to quickly shoot into a sprint. She was about to scream for him to stop, when the large draft mare knocked him over with her weight and size. Soon the mares were barking at him again, asking for his sanity. But as Nimerah trotted up closer to rejoin the group, she could only think of the horror this stallion was capable off. 'He really was about to kill this creature! He's insane!'
Her breathing was heavy from the run, and the jolt of adrenaline still in her system. As the mares blocked the path between the burly stallion and the creature, Nim focused her attention to said creature. The first thing she noticed was the fact that it looked like a horse. A stallion. His face, his ears, his whole build suggested he was no deer, but one of them. Yet his eyes, hooves, scales and antlers pointed towards a whole different species. The young mare gasped as it hit her. A dragon horse, a Kirin! From the legends and fairy tales mother told her. The same as Ignacio, the god of the fire lands. She stared at the fire born with disbelieve, as the bickering continued in the background. How was this possible? Kirin's went extinct, didn't they?
"You're a Kirin, arn't you?" She asked the scaled stallion with astonishment, her voice nearly but a whisper. Words: 411 Post: 8

Killian | War-Forged Merchant | Male
There was the blurr of bodies as Faust charged the stranger, and Killian's heart jumped at the sicken CRACK as the huge Bone-Crusher drove it into a tree. Killian's wings dropped suddenly into the snow, mouth pressed into a line as Faust began threatening the creature. Luckily he didn't need to step in, because Killiah, who was already mid charge, reached Faust first, body slamming him away. While the bickering began, Killian's eyes didn't leave the the kirin. The merchant of many foreign things had never in his days seen a creature like this. Tentatively he stepped closer. As more mares began to argue and step between Si and Faust, Killian was left in the back, free to inspect who this horse was. Because holy fuck, this thing was certainly no deer. Killian for once didn't say anything. Instead, Nim caught up to the fiasco and came up besides Killian. Killian's eyebrows furrowed, hearing his thoughts vocalized by her. "You're a kirin, aren't you?" she whispered. "I don't think you'd make a good skin," Killian joked drily. His mind was in a daze, rouletting through all the possible reasons this could be. A fully aged kirin running amok Onea? Did it have anything to do with the Bloody Flanks return? Or Hira's excursion to Aodh? The thought that the gods placed a dead mortal back on Hireath didn't even cross his mind; hell, could gods even do that? Killian usually didn't even believe gods did anything but ease troubled minds, really. So befuddled was he that for once in his life, Killian didn't have any words. Instead, he raised his eyes suspiciously to meet the stranger's. Waiting.

Everything was happening way too fast for Judiah. One minute he was tracking some strange markings in the snow and talking rather civilly with a few mares. Now he was chasing after the others, pulling ahead and trying desperately to catch up with the steam train that was the old stallion. When he saw their bodies collided, Judiah's eyes widened and he flinched as there was a audible sound of two bodies smacking together that reverberated through the tress. Dashing forward, he quickly joined the mare that had been closer to Faust and had been able to knock him away, if only slightly. He snorted up at the stallion and stood tall, using his build to shield the downed creature- er...stallion. Glaring at Faust, he snorted "Listen, you may have lost your mind from being lost in the woods, but this isn't how people do things anymore. You can't just killed a stallion without reason!" even if it is a...a Kirin
Twisting his head back slightly, he looked down at the creature that lay before them, Nim quickly moving to his aid. Judiah felt his mouth slightly go dry just from the sight, the light softly reflecting off of its scales. Prying his eyes away, he looked to Killian as he spoke, furrowing his brows and lightly smacking him good-heartedly with his long tail. Turning his attention back to the mountain in front of them, he narrowed his eyes, ready to try and fight him off if need be.

A wave of excitement rushed through Faust’s old body for the anticipation of the crunch of the stranger’s ribs beneath his hooves. Normally he’d go for the skull, but the ruby red rack of his soon to be victim made that maneuver just a bit too risky. Besides, why destroy a perfectly good trophy?
However, Faust’s thrill was short lived. The moment his rear reached it’s pinnacle, Killiah, the cow of a mare, made her move and shoved him off balance. Faust’s wild and icy stare shifted immediately to his attacker whilst twisting his neck to counterstrike, but it was too little too late. A clump of mane was all he could grasp in his teeth before he pummeled into the muddy snow. He groaned, not from any pain, but from pure rage.
He had to give her credit for her timing. Few equine had ever been able to floor him, and only one other mare out of that select bunch. Bahar. That castrating bitch not only knocked him down, but fractured his horn and tore up the whole right side of his face as well. She was still alive somewhere, living life as the little war-princess’s dog. A pathetic life for someone who’s combat skill he put on equal grounds with his own. Killiah was no where close to their level, being as untrained as she were. Her success in her attack was a fluke, a lucky break. She would not be so lucky again.
It took a moment for the old stallion to move his weight to get back up. While on his way, he heard her shout her objections at him from her place beside the antlered stranger.
"Back off Gramps! This isn't the old days of the war, back your ass up! This thing has more rights then you eh, you cant just go killin' things!"
A second voice joined her.
"You heard her. He has rights, just like you and I… Now please, let them get up."
Greer. Of course. Out of this whole bunch, she must have been the most eager to die. The silver bitch had always put herself right where Faust didn’t want her.
When Faust finally found his feet, another mare joined them.
"You can't just kill him, He's clearly not just a strange deer! If the stories are truly what they claim, he would--he'd be more valuable alive anyway!"
The dark fidgety one, Kiger, had either grown some balls or had lost her sense from traveling with all these idiots. Faust was more geared to the latter notion.
The enormous unicorn seethed in anger at their insolent behavior. He barred his teeth at them, his mouth still dripping foam. He could feel his veins pulsing in his neck and temples so hard he thought they might burst. He spat at the ground, a hawk full of Phlegm and Killiah’s hair to display just how he felt about their opinions.
“I have lost my patience with all of you!” He pawed his hoof as he shouted, eyes darting between the three mares, trying to decide who to beat on first. His scopes locked onto Killiah once more. She was the most threatening and was the only one who had actually dared to touch him. After her, he could easily move onto Greer who he expected would fight, despite her injury, and then to Kiger, who he was most certain would run.
Satisfied with his strategy, he charged again, this time lowering his head so he could make full use of his broken, but still lethal, obsidian horn.
But for the upteenth time that morning, Faust’s plans were intervened. From a blind spot, the other painted draft mare, Emerin, drove her body into Faust’s while he was mid charge.
“FUCK!!!”
Faust stumbled, but he did not fall from the impact since his sturdy body had been leveled. Still, it was enough to drive him away and back off to further assess the situation.
"Some way to treat a stranger. By the gods where are your manners, old man?!” Emerin bellowed from the sides of the other mares. Her presence was soon followed by the rest of the party. The brindled Unicorn, Nimerah, and stubby pegasus, Killian placed themselves behind the wall of mares and used the opportunity to examine the alien creature up close. Judiah added his length to the wall as well, and threw in his two sense with the others. "Listen, you may have lost your mind from being lost in the woods, but this isn't how people do things anymore. You can't just kill a stallion without reason!”
Faust couldn’t believe what he was seeing. These bickering fools were actually banding together to protect this, what, this stranger?
The mighty unicorn paced up and down their makeshift barrier, heavy stepped and snorting as went. For a moment he tried to comprehend their reasoning but quickly found there was no use in trying to understand the minds of fools. He was obviously riled, as he had even thrown in a few involuntary bucks in his pace. Once upon a time, Faust would have done something similar to inspire an army for battle. All he needed was to give a few inspiring words to couple with the pure thunderous energy that emanated from him. These hair-brained horses would receive no such words. They would receive the opposite.
“I-I Can’t kill him? Not like the old days of war?” He began throwing his words back at them in a sort of boo-hoo tone. “He has RIGHTS?” He broke his stride a moment to shout that last word in Greer’s face and then continued on. “NO ONE has the right to a life they cannot keep. You have to earn it. You think you’re all privileged to it, but you’re wrong. You should know this! FOR KAIA’S SAKE, YOU FUCKING CALL YOURSELVES WAR-FORGED!? You're nothing of the sort! Nothing! Fucking 'where are my manners'? You lot are as alien to this country as that thing you're all so dead on protecting! What a fucking useless generation Hira is raising! I should teach you all a lesson on what it really means to be war-forged!”
Faust stopped his pacing when he reached the middle of the group again and eyed all of them. They all still seemed steadfast on keeping the beast alive. A heavy sigh puffed from his nostrils. He couldn't stand their faces any longer.
“But I won’t… Some other time, perhaps.” he added and his explosive temper began to simmer.
A surprising turn of events for all who witnessed it. Faust was retreating. Having analyzed their reactions and already experiencing the group’s will to fight, the old stallion determined he was just too damn sober to deal with them. Had he still had a grasp of his blessing, this story would have ended far differently, but Kaia had not blessed him with her power since the annihilation of his clan. Her gifts had to be earned, after all.
He left them with one last message.
“War is the way of this land. Killing? It’s all part of nature. It’s the way Kaia intended. Eventually, you’ll all be reminded of this. I know your faces. I know your smells. I may be old, but I don’t forget. Next time I find any of you wandering these woods, I won’t be so merciful. You’ve only prolonged the inevitable. I will come back for you stranger, mark my words!”
And with that Faust turned away from them, ignoring any defiance from behind, to finish the task he had initially sought out to do in Skeldr. Buy some booze for winter -and something else right? Oh yeah, the pegasus had promised him a new pelt. Faust paused to call the crafty little merchant over.
“Killian, to me! I believe I’ve made good on my part of the bargain.”

~Emerin~
>>>>|Stationary Merchant| >
Emerin huffed with a slight smile in relief that the old fart was leaving. She truly hated his stubborn views for the herd. he was a stereotypical stallion that was for sure. However he was wrong about her herd. We are the strong. The bold. The loyal. He had the old ways drilled into his mind and it was funny how he could say such things about mares. For gods damn sake! Their patron god was a mare and even the warlord is a mare. 'He probably is gay...' she thought to herself. he hates mares with a passion and it made her stomach twist in an unpleasant way.
I should teach you all a lesson on what it really means to be war-forged!” The stallion spat.
"Right!!! Says the stallion who has no idea who I am~. I was born here lets not forget this detail gramps, i know how to handle stereotypical stallions like you." Her eyes narrowed right at him. "And yes i am War-Forged. If i have to prove it then so be it!" She yelled after the stallion Knowing these word would eventually get under his skin. "If we we so called aliens to this country then we wouldn't be here now would we? Manners are apparently for those who have a life and reputation to hold. Hira has no reason to be brought up about my raising. You got a goddamn problem!?!? take it up with the people who actually did raise us old fart." She snorted. "Our generation is for the best of this herd. the young is the future of this herd!" She hissed.
With that said she huffed knowing he wouldn't return as he obviously kept walking away as she defended herself and the others as well even if they didn't ask for it. she believes that everyone has a voice and should be recognized at an equal level. That stallion made her so angry and man why did he have to make her salty? it was to goddamn early for this shit.
Her ears flicked back to the Kirin and her eyes set on his handsome golden eyes. Emerin blushed slightly before walking back to the stallion's side. In the corner of her eye she noticed the color red. was he bleeding? if he was bleeding that meant he was real and in the flesh. "Heyyyy~! Nim! Our mysterious stranger is bleeding! " she called and the scanned the surroundings for the brindle mare.

Killiah WF | Travelling Merchant 'Just a warning Killiah can be offensive sometimes! It's not me just her so please don't get offended by what she says, i have no grudge against anyone ^^ all offence is to the characters not you personally okay!'
The large mare gave a the brute a heavy snort at the realization she'd lost a chunk of her hair, it wasn't enough to be noticable unless you knew but it made enough of an impact that it grinded all her gears, "Go hack to the stone age where you belong gramps, your views are a thing of the past", she watched the raging beast move off and head back into the trees, not even moving an inch till she was sure he was gone... till she could no longer smell him anymore.
With a short puff of a sigh she turned to Greer, her lips pressed into an almost amused smile, "You're alright Miss Limp, Look me up sometime and we can play Nurse, I can help keep your mind off the pain", with a flirty wink she spun on her heel now focusing on her short little ebony friend, "and you Kiger dear are a brave little button", with afew licks of her tongue she ruffled Kigers hair, "Stick around", pulling the smaller mare closer to her side as they moved towards Nim's side. Now the mood was lightened a bit with the retreat of Faust they all seemed to focus on the Kirin before them... the scales and antlers didn't draw Killiah's attention, the stallions lack of being a mare did
"Apart from the disappointing fact he's no gorgeous medic, is he even alive Doc?", her words were now focused to Nim as the resident healer who seemed to be quite on point about the whole situation... she had to admit hard-working was a very attractive quality and she couldn't help but watch the mare with a very different kind of stare, "We could make a fortune if he shared some of those scales, think of all the gold i could buy to make my wares!"

Nimerah WF | Medic Nimerah's head shot up as the buldering grey stallion went wild. His voice loud and angry, it scarred Nim as if she was a small filly again. As she watched him, she carefully leaned away, almost by instinct huddling behind the wall of mares. When Emerin shoved the stallion another, but final time, Nimerah was sure he was going to flip out completely, and would start slaughtering them all. But to her surprise, he calmed down? Even went as far as to back off, and leave. But as the other mares broke up they uniform and ignored his final mumbling, Nim was sure to catch his final tread.
'He'd kill us... if he'd find me alone in the woods again, he'll murder me...' It send a shiver down her spine. She was a little surprised at how nonchalant the other seemed to react to this. Did they not believe him? He just charged at them! But perhaps she wouldn't be much of a target for him. Nim never did really anger him...right? Nonetheless, after this hole ordeal, she wouldn't be leaving town for quite a while, that's for sure.
The sooty dun mare returned her attention back to the kirin before her, but he seemed to keep himself quiet. She could argue he might felt too scared to speak, but the angry fire in his rare eyes might claim otherwise. Nim noted Emerin's worried words. But she herself couldn't see any blood. And the only smell of it in the area came from Greer. "Were do you see blood, Emerin?" She searched around some more, and even locked eyes with the strange stallion, trying again to ask him a question. "My name is Nimerah, I'm a medic," She tried to keep her words simple, not sure if the appaloosa could understand their speech. "Are you hurt anywhere?" Her soft spoken words were bulldozed over by Killiah's shameless remark, causing Nim's brow to lower. She'd noticed the mare obvious flirting, and although Nim would usually join in the fun, this situation did not seemed suited for messing around. Not to mention, the young sooty mare wasn't very interested in... well, mares.
"I think he'll survive, might have just lost his tongue," She said with slight annoyance. "And no, we're not gonna rip him apart for the sake of shards." She added dryly, knowing it was just a joke, but still... They'd better not have that beast of a killer come running back and do it for them. Words: 416 Post: 9

Kiger
She felt as if no one was more surprised than she was by the stallion's sudden retreat. Whether it was a change of mind or that he had simply had enough of them, that still remained debatable...thank Kaia that Emerin had barged in when she did, no matter how crazy a move it was. She still couldn't believe she'd had the audacity to suddenly blurt crap back at the monstrous stallion. She supposed it was a really good thing for Emerin to interfere--who knew what he would've done next? He was pretty pissed, to say the least. Unfortunately for the tiny pegasus, he'd made a promise to the giant and the latter was obviously not about to let him forget it. Regardless, her thoughts soon became more than thoroughly scrambled when Killiah stooped down a bit to ruffle her mane and tug her closer. Embarrassment flooded her face yet again as she let out a breath that she didn't realize she'd been holding, and tottered somewhat unsteadily just a pace behind as Killiah turned to regard the bay kirin. On closer look, the creature had blood-red horns--no, antlers--and a sheathe of gold scales clapped on the arch of his neck. Much of the front of his body was covered in white appaloosa patterning, and so was most of his hindquarters. His hooves were cloven, much like half the unicorn population's hooves, and his mane and tail--which were quite glorious--were both of an orange-y gold color. He'd remained surprisingly silent the entire time, but Kiger didn't blame him--the poor creature had gotten rammed into a tree, after all. She cringed inwardly when Emerin blatantly began to flirt with him, but...oh, all right, he was kind of good-looking. Okay, more than kind of. Quite lovely, actually. " He's probably just a bit beat up," Kiger suggested, when Nimerah told Emerin she couldn't find any blood. " The only things that are really red would be his horns--antlers--and he's a really dark bay all over. I'd be sore too if big guy back there were to slam me into a tree..." She observed Nimerah trying to communicate with the kirin. " ...Maybe he's mute," she muttered under her breath when he didn't respond. She flicked an ear at Killiah's tactless comment but decided not to say anything about it--Nimerah had her covered, anyhow. She couldn't blame a fellow merchant for straight-up thinking of money, though. The thought amused her, but also brought another flash of embarrassment when she asked herself why wasn't she also thinking of profit? Eh, guess I'm not all that keen about the goods, she thought. Kiger, what kind of merchant are you ? The heck. "Well, no use getting him to talk if he doesn't want to," she said aloud. " Best thing we can do right now is either let him go or escort him to Hira. I'd say just take him to Hira--if word gets out that we found a kirin and just let him go then who knows the kind of manhunt that would start? Hira would know what to do with him. Even...even a prison would be safer than letting him roam around Onea by himself." Post 8; 530 words
