❀ L Y D I A ❀ "We weep for what we don't have." WC: 342 | Post 1 Her feet ached pretty quickly these days and the early mornings were something she’d have to get used to. She was from the lap of luxury, easily spotted from a glance. Some might assume she’d never had to work in her life - and they wouldn’t be wrong. But none of that was her choice, she’d happily put the effort in where it count. She just never got the chance. But that didn’t stop her from taking pleasure in her muscles being sore by the end of the day, nor did it stop her from getting up when she stumbled. Despite her childhood, she wasn’t one to give up on proving herself, even if it took awhile.
Her body lay bare of all it’s normal accessories, except for the decorated gems on her forehead; something she didn’t even question if she should leave it on. It felt a bit bare to not be dressed up, but she didn’t halt on those feelings, much too preoccupied to care. It felt good to train - that was something she immediately knew. She’d never gotten to do anything of the sort growing up, even if she begged, but despite the dirt and sweat it just felt - good. Good to be powerful and prepared.
She barely knew much of the place, of the rank - all of it was far too new. But it gave her the excuse she needed and was looking for, as she wandered the halls of the palace, searching for the other with her title. Part of her hoped she just wasn’t busy, that was only a ‘maybe’ concern to actually worry about.
Lydia’s eyes lit up a bit when she finally found the other Geminus, an extra prep added to her step, “Tzilia,” she called over in a light voice, “do you have time to train?” It was about the best excuse she had to talk to her and to bond with a co-worker, if that’s what she was even considered. She honestly wanted to get to know her, too.

Tzilia | Geminus | Mare
The early morning starts had agreed well with Tzilia's physique; not to mention her mood.
There was something about the mornings that lifted her spirits, revitalized her. Perhaps it had something to do with being able to view Cascade's kingdom when the first rays of light bent to kiss the water, bathing it in a stunning glow of gold and pink. Or perhaps the way the crisp morning sea breeze ran it's way stiffly through her mane, the damp sand falling away beneath her hooves.
Regardless, Tzilia had come to appreciate the morning exercises, even going as far as to say she enjoyed them. Somehow the training only served to brighten her day.
The sun had rise n substantially in the sky now, and the Defender had long since gone to attend to his other duties, leaving the Geminus to their own devices. Tzilia had admittedly not done much since the morning work out, mainly listening to the echoing sound of her own hooves as she paced the Palace's floors.
For years she had admired the Emperor's -and now, the Empress'- palace from afar, and to walk its halls as a member, to actually belong here, was still somewhat awe inspiring to her.
'What mother must think of this.'
The thought was accompanied by a pang of smug vindictiveness. It wasn't that she bore ill will towards her mother, but truth be told they had been on terse terms for years now, only exacerbated by her father's passing. Sharifa had never thought that the more physical tasks or fighting were befit a Talorian woman, and for Tzilia there was some pride to be had in her utter defiance. She had obtained a position that contrasted her mother's core values; working as a guard to the Empress herself, no less.
Tzilia was shaken from her musings by the sound of Lydia's remark, craning her neck around to regard the mare. Though she didn't know the mare very well yet, Tzilia would already say she had fostered a sense of camaraderie with her associates; they were all in similar situations, after all. The appearance of the mare was enough to raise her spirits for the second time that day.
"Of course," Tzilia nodded enthusiastically. "Down to the courtyard?"

❀ L Y D I A ❀ "We weep for what we don't have." WC: 216 | Post 2 She smiled politely as she waited, standing still for Tzilia to spot her and respond. It really didn’t take long, thankfully, and she found herself picking up her feet again, trotting a bit closer to the other Geminus. She let her smile widen as she gave a curt nod. “Yes, of course.” A brief pause, “sounds perfect.”
Lydia wasn’t one to stall long, not when things were already confirmed. Turning away, from the other mare, she took a few steps, looking back over at her, giving her a chance to catch up before she impolitely trotted off without her. Once she was sure she was following, Lydia remained her somewhat eager demeanour to spar.
Admittedly, she didn’t know much about Tzilla - she was one of the few Geminus she trained with, but that’s where the familiarity really stopped. She assumed they came from different backgrounds, but the job was the only common ground she knew they had. She didn’t want that to be all, though.
The quick trip to the courtyard started as soon as it stopped, and soon as she stopped, Lydia turned towards Tzilla, her smile a bit cheeky, but more than cheerful. “Anything in particular you want to work on?” Nothing but a simple gesture, attempt to give Tzilla a first choice. x
