NURIKO
The tunnel was getting too full. The water was too heavy. Why where there still equine with him?! Another roar and Nuriko pushed his head weakly forward. Heat was licking at his backside, unsure what was happening behind him. He didn't have the energy, couldn't risk looking behind him. This was all too much. Did they not understand he couldn't hold it forever? Tears continued to fall, feeling as if his body was being crushed from above even if there was nothing there. Amity suddenly pressed into his side, screaming words over his own screams and grunts.
But did she not understand he could never go home? Everything he had worked for, strove for, wasn't it all for not now? Panting, the unicorn slowly turned his head, eyes flickering over the mare beside him. She wouldn't let him parish alone... He caught the glimpse of Arges coated with fire and knew he wouldn't either. How could these two who barely knew him be unrelenting in leaving his side? With a small breath his body let the water go.
The surge of liquid poured forth like a glistening tumbling wall. It swept them all off their hooves and started to swallow them whole. Air would be gone, replaced only by surging water. Yet within the panic and fear, a grip would take hold of both of their legs, pulling them through the force and bringing them together. Within moments, Nuriko was standing on what appeared to be ground, and the two who where with him also touched down on the ground. Around them, a shield of listening flowing water surged, moving with the currents and flows of the tidal wave. He wasn't fighting it, rather moving it around them, protecting them. A new type of strength oozed from the unicorn. "Thank you for staying with me." He spoke softly, voice almost as smooth as the water itself.
-----
From the tunnel surged water suddenly, bursting forward like a broken pipe. It flooded into the broken city, helping to wash away some of the debris and blood, bodies of the fallen. Mairon would feel it almost curl around his hooves, leaping up at him as if trying to tell him the unicorn was ok even if he couldn't see him. The water would move through the streets like a serpent, washing away and trying to clean as much as it could. Did it have a mind of it's own?
Wind would rustle through the city, brushing over Reid's hair and face almost like the brush of a mothers touch. It circled him, felt like a soft wind current before suddenly gusting past him, leaping towards the new opening. Had she said goodbye?
Two young equines ran up to Raksha and Thanatos, tears streaming down their faces. "Please... Y-you look strong! Please our parents are trapped inside!" One of them sobbed, the elder one who was only a year or two older was trying to keep the panic at bay. "P-please!" A building, half crumbled from the wall stood behind them. Voices where heard on the other side and the child sobbed harder.

A M I T Y
of the Kawaru Breimians
......
Amity’s world was literally crashing down around her. Yet she stuck close to Nuriko, one of the Umare no doubt, as their imminent demise stared them in the face. They were too weak to run and the water was beginning to splash and soak the horse and unicorn’s coats despite the warmth Amity felt from Arges behind them. Why hadn’t he run? Maybe for a similar reason as herself, or possibly a more noble one. But she didn’t have time to ask, for the wall of water became too heavy...and it broke. The three of them were completely doused and swept up into the current. It jerked the young mare around, flipping and turning her and making her dizzy. But she felt a pull at her foreleg dragging her through the flow until her hooves rested on solid ground. Her gaze swept the air bubble to spot both Nuriko and Arges also soaking, but safe, in the bubble. Nuriko was moving the water around them instead of holding it back...Maybe this water represented not only change for Nuriko’s life but for Breim as well. Amity thought to herself as she gazed up in awe at the water flowing around them and no doubt towards Sterling to wash away all the rubble. Finally, the unicorn spoke, thanking the, for staying with him. Amity couldn’t help but smile and giggle despite the situation. Somehow, they were alive. The others ran to safety too.
“We may not know each other well, but I can tell you’re meant for more than to drown in these tunnels alone.” she murmured.

Mairon [ post #5 || word count: 252 ] |
Mairon heard the sound of rushing water before he saw anything. He braced himself as a wind issued from the cave a past him, it was damp. Then came the water, it seemed far tamers as it poured out of the tunnel and splashed past the kirin’s legs and began to seep into the city, cleansing it.
The metalsmith had feared the water would bring with it the bodies of three equines but they where not to be seen. He let out a small sigh of relief, they were still inside. With the clutching fear of the water dissipated Mairon cantered back into the tunnel. He paused however a couple yards in. It was pitch dark, especially after the light of the city, and the sound of dripping water echoed throughout the darkness. Mairon concentrated and two bright flames ignited about his hooves, instantly the tunnel was lit up with firelight as it reflected off the pools of water. Thus emboldened by Ignacio’s flames he continued on. Every step on the wet stone sending up a hiss of steam as the water was instantly vaporized.
He went on for what seemed like a solid fifteen minutes, as time passed a worm of doubt entered his mind. Certainly he should have come upon them by now, or maybe he hadn’t gone far enough? What if something had happened and Nuriko and the others had been swept somewhere else? “Nuriko!” He called, his voice bounced down the tunnel, echoing and distorting as it went.

NURIKO
As the water continued past them, the unicorn took a deep breath. Searching through the liquid itself he found the leak many many yards ahead. A hoof slid along the ground, as if covering something up. Soon, a couple larger breaths and the water started to lower before it became little but a small stream around their feet. "Are you both ok?" He asked softly, eyes flickering over Amity and then Arges. They where all wet. With a small breath he closed his eyes and then willed the droplets off them all, gathering a small globe of water and returned it to the floor. "I hope that's a touch better."
"Nuriko!"
Mairon's voice flooded his ears as they swiveled forward, smiling softly. "I'm alright darling." He called out in a calm manner before gesturing with his head for the other two to walk through the tunnels back to town. "I can clear the streets easily enough but I'm not strong enough to clear much of the larger rubble right now..." He frowned, eyes glancing forward. When the cream colored Kirin came into view, with fire leaping around his legs, Nuriko smirked faintly. "About time that came in handy." A small jest as the Unicorn moved up to his side and pressed his forehead against the muscled neck. He cared little that affection was only to be shared in doors. That had been too close for them all.
Eyes then flickered to Amity and Arges. "This is your home. I hold no power here, but if you'll have me, I'd like to help. As much as I can." His body shivered, body shaking a bit. Not far off he heard Reid's cry of anguish in his ears and pinned them slightly. "Never the less, we can't just stand around." He pushed his body forward, trying to find the common horse who had caught them in the tunnels.

Reid
It wasn't fair it wasn't fair it wasn't fair. It chanted in his mind like a mantra, his body frozen into place even as the water swept through the city. Reid's mind was oddly still aside from the soft whispers of it's not fair! that played. But it was fair. He wanted nothing more than change. That was all he lived for. Yet there he was, unwilling to so much as talk to an Umare, to give the forbidden equine a safe passage through Sterling. He stubbornly held his hoof down when he should have gone with his gut, listened to Arges and Amity's words. But he didn't, and because of that delay his mother was dead. He wasn't there to protect her.
Reid finally stepped forward when he noticed the rock that pinned the mare down had nudged. It rolled slowly away as the water washed over her body, cleansing her of the still-warm blood that seeped from her wounds. He went to brush his nose against her cheek, cold and soaked, but he soon realized that the corpse was also being pushed by the water. The stallion clamped down on her wing with teeth, trying to keep her from being swept away in the surge of water. Not yet. Please, not yet, he thought, his eyes growing wide with a newfound panic. Teke tried to pull her up as well, but he was weak from exhaustion. A strong wave of water pushed him over and he fell forward, landing in the water. His grip on the deceased loved one loosened, until all that was left was a mouthful of feathers as he hopelessly watched her float away. But even the feathers fell from his teeth when he moved to get out of the water. The blue plumes were almost fitting in the flow, and Reid could do nothing but gaze after the last piece of his mother drifted off into the unknown.
He wanted to cry, to scream, but his own emotions were forced down as others cried for a much more needed help. The flaxen made his way to the clinic, a short distance away from where he was sitting before. His heart dropped in his chest to see the building was barely standing. The insides had been gutted, likely by a thief, and assisted by the water. All that he once knew was gone. He started running. Post 7 | 401 words

Raksha So how many times must you fall to your knees Never, never, never, never Never do this again" "
5 | 356 At first she didn't payed any attention to the small lanky foals that had overthrown any fear and had ran to the kirins for help. Her eyes were focused on the tunnel she and Thanatos had come from. Nuriko and Mairon were still not yet in sight and neither were the other equines that had confronted them. She was hesitant to leave without knowing if they survived the collapse of the ceiling, but the sun called her out into the open air...
"P-please!"
This time the child's voice caught her attention. The mare turned her head and looked down to the small equine with frustration in her eyes. The unfriendly order to leave her alone was already on the tip of her tongue, but then suddenly her eyes softened. The foal was grey, like another kid she had met after her resurrection...
"It's okay, it's okay. Don't worry, we'll get your parents out of there." She exchanged a quick glance with Thanatos, he looked as unhappy about the situation as her. "We help them, and then leave"
Quickly she started to follow the foals, which were already running back to the crumbled building, without looking back to check if the black kirin was following her or not. "Keep your distance kids, I don't want you to get accidentally hurt" she snorted and shooed them away with a move of her head. Then she quickly glanced over the destroyed house to plan where she could move parts of the wrecked wall without risking that more of the buildings ceiling would come down. "Everyone inside!" she shouted and tapped one hove against the wall. "Get to to the other side of the room!" This time her words were clearly an order. The adrenaline that still floated through her veins after that pain-stricken escape came now in handy. With her teke she grapped a big part of the broken ceiling and started to push it away. Please Ignacio make that this building will not bury those damn cave dwellers.

A M I T Y
Of the Kawaru Breimian
......
Amity’s crimson eyes stayed locked on the dome of water surrounding them as Nuriko continued to bend it around the trio, but when the unicorn again she brought her eyes down to his once more. Nodding and still smiling, relishing in the fact that they were still alive. “Yes, I’m alright at least. Arges?” She turned to look at the Driven expectantly, barely noticing that they were now dry. Once the leak had been plugged and the stream of water had lessened to a small trickle amongst their hooves, a voice reached her ears and Mairon came into view once the trio had continued down the tunnel. Her steps quickened as they neared the end, for Reid was nowhere to be seen. The two Kirins were likely able to hold their own but Reid...he had not the strength that the Kirins possessed. Nuriko’s next words almost escaped the chimeric horse as she pricked her ears towards what used to be Reid’s street.
“Yes of course, you mean only to help so you are welcome to the Kawaru. So long as your intentions remain good, you all are.” She murmured, referencing Mairon, Raksha and Thanatos as well. But her gaze returned forward as she returned to carefully stepping through wreckage in search of her friend.
“Reid?!” She called, becoming worried when she spotted blood where his mother once lay, little did she know. She had not seen him run off, but reached out to attempt and hear his thoughts. Nothing. “Reid?!” called the mare again, growing more frantic. She lost family to fire. She couldn’t lose her friends to water. Nothing would be left of her.
