Kingston had spent the past few months almost living and breathing underwater since initially being blessed with nyphism. He’d been all over the ocean, seen Kiephis, but never once entered it’s barrier. Never dared because of his feathers, nor with his fins - he’d still been adjusting. But the draw that the city held that day had only been amplified - up close, it was overwhelming. Kiephis was beautiful. He knew not the history, but it looked as if generation after generation had simple built on-top of each other. The city so full of layers, it was very easy to get lost in by doing nothing more than navigating the streets. King wasn’t sure if he even knew where the surface was anymore. He’d long accepted the fact that he’d have to get more lost to leave when the time came. But it was of little concern right now.
The waters seemed to be turning, full of an aura he couldn’t quite pick up. He kept an eye watching the shop vendors around him, but he tried not to dwell on the odd sense at the bottom of his gut. He’d been practically born with a sensation similar as a pegasus. It was probably just paranoia of a first time visitor, even if his feathers were gone - so that’s what he chalked it up to. After all, it was merely a side thought; something at the back of his mind as he browsed the shops, looking over and finding things he couldn’t even imagine of. King had underestimated what he’d buy from the city; he really should have brought more money. Although, he was also glad for being a squid hippocampus, because it made carrying anything a bit easier.
A long while later, just as previous musings and concerns had been left behind to the waves, Kingston stopped, raising his head to glance behind him. He perked his ears forward, staring for longer than normal at seemingly nothing. It was only then where he realized the rest of the street had also gone near silent. Just then, his stomach inexplicably dropped into a blind dread.

The sprawling metropolis of Kiephis was nothing short of divine, its architecture a marvel few but those blessed with fins or one of Cascade’s gifts would ever set their mortal gaze upon. Pillar upon pillar had been crafted with the utmost care and devotion; creating an intricate, tight-knit world that one could easily get lost in for hours on end. Illustrations of days gone by lined the walls, crafted lovingly into stone and decorated with a mixture of precious gems and curated sea shells. Impressions of the gods and interpretations of their true forms were - of course - a naturally occuring theme, but far from the only thing artisans told stories about amongst the etchings.
They held tales of the past, and perhaps if one were to study them in earnest - with an unbiased eye - catch glimpses of a future yet to come.
A slow, sombre tune reverberated across the city’s streets as Orisa swayed gently through the tepid waters, moving towards stalls of interest, and drawing comfort from its dulcet tones. Most she passed with nothing more than a polite nod and averted gaze, keeping her interactions down to a minimum with ambitious salesmen and desperate guttersnipes. Jewellery held little interest to her despite Talori’s fluctuating trends, but trinkets and eccentric goods retrieved from within the guts of shipwrecks or from towns far from their borders often drew the mare’s one good eye in for a closer look. Most of it was hardly worth her time, cheap and more common than seaweed, but the occasional oddity had found its way into her home on the rare day she willingly parted with hard earned shards.
Orisa has almost given up finding anything that sated her curiosity today, however, until she spied a small pendant crumpled among various other sales pieces, suffused with veins of gold and scuffed with age. Approaching the table, she picked up the item with a careful, practiced hand, surrounding it in pale, glittering teke and turning it over thoughtfully, eyeing the gouges littered across it and taking in the weight of its character.
Satisfied with her inspection, she looked up to catch the seller’s gaze, intent on brokering a fair deal.

Cinnamon The last time Cinnamon had been in Kiephis had been before the attack on the mainland by the Flight. It was hard to forget the splendor of the place, though it most certainly did take her breath away every time. As the hippocampus quietly made her way through the water, she found herself thinking of Belle and Dawson, as both of her children had been left back at home for the day.
Normally, this kind of trip would have warranted Belle's company, though the younger of Cinnamon's two children had, admittedly, been having trouble sleeping as of late. It was why she was here, actually, as it had been some time since she herself had gone to look at the wares or even bother with the various potions and herbal remedies. Her hope was to find something to help with her daughter's sleep, or at the very least, she could find the herbs that she knew could help soothe her youngest.
There were other things on the mare's mind as well. She had been continuously around her children since they had been reunited, and even today, while she was out on her own, she couldn't help but worry about the ones she had left above the waters. It was her responsibility, especially now that they were together again, to worry over them and take care of them, and even now, she could feel her anxiety rolling in her stomach.
She didn't want to lose them again, but she also wanted to do her job, to be the cleric she was supposed to be. It was a hard balance, considering the fact that she always seemed to see some kind of hidden danger around every corner.
Focus.
She was here to purchase some items, check up on some friends, and then get back home. If she spent all of her time worrying, she wouldn't be able to get her shopping done.
The shops were waiting for her as she touched foot on the city, working her way through the small crowds in favor of looking at a few shops she used to visit on the regular when she was younger. Some had changed, but for the most part, the city remained the same. It was nice, knowing that there was at least something still okay with the world.
Until it wasn't. Apprehension suddenly pushed itself onto the mare, forcing her to look around to see what was wrong... until it passed once more.
Only mildly panicking, the mare quickly picked up the pace of her walk, hoping that she could get some herbs for herself now on top of the ones she wanted to find for dear Belle.

I l h u i c a a t l "Lulu"
§ Talori | Philosopher §
"Certain things catch your eye, but pursue those that capture the heart." ~Native American Proverb § Despite being a hippocampus, Lulu had never been to Kiephis before. She had hovered high in the waters above the city, but never once did she ever feel like stepping inside. Perhaps it was because of her mother and brother, or perhaps it was because of the treatment their kind had gotten. Either way, she felt like rectifying the fact she never stole more than a glance at the city. Who knows, maybe she could find something to pique her interest there.
The cuttlefish hippocampus glided through the water with ease as she made her way into the city. She only barely glanced at the architecture, only pausing momentarily to glance at a particular carving of Cascade before moving through the archway. She was here to spend shards, not look around at the city itself too heavily.
Despite being tiny, she did pose an air of importance around her even though she was hardly important at all. It was all self-imposed. But that feeling could easily be overlooked, as something gloomier seemed to stir within the waters around her. There was a tenseness, an insecure feeling that she was forced to brush off. No sense focusing on the negative, times were changing in Talori, perhaps this was all just...well, remnants of the not-so-distant past. She had floated past a smoky hippocampus with a bright purple and blue tail, only glancing briefly at the much larger mare as she made her way past
Being a Philosopher, with her tastes and eyes on the stars, Ilhuicaatl searched for something that had to do with the heavens. There likely wouldn’t be anything, considering she was deep into Cascades realm. But that didn’t mean there wasn’t something fascinating that could have been found in one of the many wrecks in the sea. Even a good book would suffice, so long as it was enchanted enough to not be ruined within the ocean. She noted a buckskin mare going about her business, colorful fins on her sides that reminded Lulu of a rainbow, which reminded her bitterly of Gilda… She shook her head, snorted and moved on.
Fins flicked rapidly as she flitted through the tide, glancing from stall to stall, until she paused when it seemed too quiet. She glanced around and noticed a brown male with a tail of tentacles, so of course she was immediately interested. He seemed to just be standing still, frozen. Did something scare him? She blew some bubbles from her nose. Men, honestly.
Lulu slowly sailed over to him, her fins giving her some ridiculous maneuverability as she moved. Perhaps whatever startled him, she could snap him out of it.
“Hey. You okay?” Being so small herself, she had positioned herself closer towards his head. Her tentacle mane flicked too and fro in the current.

Kali | Post One
Despite both being blessed with Nynmphism, and having one day miraculously becoming a hippocampus, Kali had not spent much of their time in Keiphis, only visiting the underwater city on rare occasions. Today was different; they had made the journey with their youngest child - Owain - toting along beside them; he was not to be let out of his Ama's sight for even a moment, despite the fact that the herd was technically at peace. After the fiasco with Moree, and the sudden intrusion of Ashwin, Kali was determined to keep their child safe beside them. After all, he was just a babe compared to their other children, and needed to be looked after, in Kali's opinion.
Their attention was, however, dragged from keeping watch over their son, as a sudden wave of unease hit the blackfin shark mare, causing a shudder to go down their spine. What the feeling was, Kali couldn't say, and wouldn't have been able to describe it if asked, but it was gone just as quickly as it had arrived, leaving an almost empty space in its wake. Shaking their head, the tattooed mustang moved forward once more, a powerful side-flick of their tail bringing them farther into the shopping district. The sight of two tentacled hippocampi caught their attention, and the black overo frowned slightly as they noticed that the stallion appeared to be staring off into space, as though startled. Frowning, the Talorian moved towards him, indicating with a jerk of their head that Owain was to stay close.
"What seems to be the matter?" they asked, turning to the mare, who seemed more in charge of her faculties. "What's going on?" they added, curiosity overtaking them as they bombarded the pair with questions.

Corrine Cleric of Starfall SpringIm a series of small victories and large defeats and I am as amazed as any other that I have gotten from there to here Corrine viewed the wares of the market with little interest, chignon was truly catching her eye, Though at times she felt an uneasiness that Corrine really couldn't place a hoof to. Shaking the matter from her head, it was just all nonsense, probably dread from trying to recoup from what damage had been done in the earlier months. A sigh escaped her lips as she continued to browse through the stands here in the underwater city. She hoped to replace some of her old jewelry with something new, something more fitting for herself, still nothing caught her eye.
It was a bit sad to say the least, most of the time she had no issue finding something she would want, but today, her stomach a bit in knots, it seemed to make her unable to set her mind to anything. Ugh, she thought, it was the whole purpose being here, a moments break from her job to shop a little on herself and she cant even manage that.
Next stall she saw an equine pick up a pendent, it was beautiful, not of course anything she would like, a lover of blue she was. "Lucky find, it is gorgeous." she remarked to the mare Orisa with a nod of her head.

⋆ Kingston ⋆ WC: 226 - Post 2He remained still, swallowing hard the longer he remained unwavering. Something in his stomach just felt completely off. Explicitly so.
Kingston’s eyes scanned slowly, along with his ears, paying extra attention to the crowd around him. He was naturally a bit more in tune with those around them; he had a bit of an easier time understanding the body language of others easier than his peers, yet he couldn’t quite understand why things just felt off, here.
His head snapped to the side when a horse approached him, then another few joined them as well a moment after. He frowned at the questions, as if puzzled by it for a second. He took another moment to look around at the market - the haze didn’t clear the longer he tried to understand it.
“I don’t know,” he responded truthfully to both of them. It sounded silly to say that aloud. Especially since he was causing a minor scene with horses that just wanted to enjoy the day. “Can - can you guys feel it too? Something just seems - off.” He looked at them, almost unsure if he sounded crazy or not. “Like everyone’s a bit too tense?” Maybe he was just paranoid. It sounded like nothing, but his gut was telling him otherwise. “It just hit me harder a moment ago, I’m not sure why.”

Tiffany;Aodh | Envoy I’ve got a thing for genuine people For the first time in months, Tiffany had a chance to spend the day with just herself and observe the tropical wonderland she had been transferred to. She had been told/warned that she would experience culture shock, but what she was experiencing was on a euphoric level. All she had ever heard in detail was predominantly from the rogues which told her not to expect much but a bustling trade point. Bustling it certainly was, but in a much classier way than the Envoy was expecting!
When she was told about Kiephis, her eyes lit up and she couldn't wait to swim the waters and explore the city down below. Today was the day she finally got to do that and it felt so wonderful to swim once more. Swimming slowly, Tiff was completely in awe of the simple yet divine architecture of the place and better yet, so many hippocampus coexisting and living in one place! In her observations, Tiffany noted that as the inhabitants of the city passed by each other, there was almost a stiffness, but Tiffany just passed that off as typical Talorian behaviour by this point. Distracted once more Tiffany began to gaze about the stalls, excited to add to her collection. While doing so, she overheard a group coming together and found herself drifting towards them, wanting to be in earshot. Anything she heard could be valuable for her stay and her herd.

Madoka | Agriculturist Madoka had before never set hoof inside Keiphis. He had once marvelled at the idea of what it might be like, listening to the tales Mairi spun of the underwater city. She had made it sound rather romantic with the way she raved on about it, but at the time Madoka had little means or reason to travel to the city. It left a bitter taste in his mouth to know that he would finally visit the beautiful city she had described to him without her. She would have been delighted to know that the Goddess had blessed him with the ability to breath underwater like a hippocampus. She'd always said that he made a better hippocampus than she did and he imagined she would have described him as such as well, had she survived to learn about it.
But business was business and as unusual as a request it was, Madoka would see to it that he would finally witness the mystical city of Keiphis. Making certain all items were secure in his saddle bags, Madoka headed down. The city was as Mairi had described all those years ago. It was old but grand, well taken care of by the city's residents and was unusually quiet compared to what it was like on land. He could still hear conversation and most sounds you might expect when heading into the marketplace however it was like the water was a blanket, muffling sounds underneath it's currents. Madoka took his time taking in the city, quietly imagining what he would have told Mairi had she still been alive. Later he would note the unusual tension within the equines he'd passed, as subtle as it were, but for now he was too enthralled with the city to put his perception skills to good work.

Kali | Post Two
The normally relaxed Brewer couldn't help but feel another little shudder run down their fishy spine, waving their tail almost completely autonomously from mental intent. It was just one of those knee-jerk things that one couldn't control, like a sneeze or a cough. Their mouth pulled into a grim line for a moment, and their eyes narrowed as they attempted to pick up on whatever sense that the large octopus-stallion was feeling. It was true, there seemed to be something gnawing at the pit of their stomach, almost like a wild animal trapped within their rib cage, but the feeling could have easily been attributed to the overt stress from their last few months in Inaria, or keeping up with a small, easily distracted child in a marketplace full of wonders, or even the discomfort of being somewhere that they really didn't identify as "home," despite how comfortable they always felt in the water.
"I'm not sure I'd give it too much mind," the black Brewer said, hoping to ease the other horse's thoughts, and make him feel more relaxed. "We're all on edge after what has been going on in our homes," they added sagely, tossing their head to brush back green, sea-weed like locks of their mane, which kept swirling about their face and effectively blinding them. Sometimes, having a blessed mane that turned itself into seawater was pretty interesting, but when it kept getting caught up in the currents and swamping its owner's face, it was far less majestic.
"Come, walk the shops with us, I'm sure that will ease your mind," they offered, turning with a flick of their powerful, finned tail, and heading for the many marketplace shops, each glittering with more wares than the last. Nearby, other horses began to take shape, some the mustang had seen around before, and some they'd never laid eyes on. A catfish hippocampus seemed to be drifting closer and closer to the group, while a beautiful blue-purple finned paint bartered over the cost of a gem. Corrine caught Kali's eye, and the black overo nodded their head in respect of the mare, as they continued to swim through the shops.

I l h u i c a a t l "Lulu"
§ Talori | Philosopher §
"Certain things catch your eye, but pursue those that capture the heart." ~Native American Proverb § Ears flicked back when the current changed, another having come up behind her and the stallion. Looking over her shoulder, her tentacled mane pushing out of the way, Lulu gave the mare a once over. But before she could reply, the stallion had spoken about what he was feeling, which caused the tiny mare to turn her attention back to him as his response would hopefully sate her and the other mare’s questions. He looked baffled, and what he said next was both concerning and intriguing for the falabella.
And she wasn’t sure if it was simply her insecurity with what she was, what she believed in, and how her herd acted. But why would that feeling permeate through the entire city? And why now? She had months to mull over these changes after being released from Torrine alongside her mother and young brother. No, this was something else entirely, for why would this random stallion feel her feelings?
Her eyes turned to the other mare again as she responded, flicking her ears back against her head. Were they not feeling it too, perhaps? Perhaps she and the stallion were simply...more sensitive today? No...perhaps they were right. Even though there was...sort of peace, there was a tenseness that was easily ignored in their own homes. This place was more unfamiliar, too fantastic, seemed like it should be untouched by something so simple as insecurity.
As Lulu thought, she marveled at the bald-faced mare’s mane. While she herself had a unique mane of tentacles, they certainly weren’t blessed by any gods or anything of that uniqueness. She glanced back at the stallion, the offer to browse as a group was enticing. Although she wasn’t one for...liking men, for the most part, she felt a sort of kinship due to their tentacled nature.
“I admit...I feel the same as you do.” She replied to Kingston finally. “But I think our friend here is right. We have been through so much in so little a time, it would be best to simply keep our spirits up and enjoy our time here beneath the waves.” Lulu offered a smile, though it was a tense one. She wasn’t one for smiling usually. “Come, perhaps we can find a tonic to ease our minds if it comes to it…” With little effort, the cuttlefish turned in a quick circle. She was hardly fast on land, being so small and stout of legs, so her true speed could be seen in her hippocampus form with the help of fins and water propulsion.

Owain Tenderfoot, Son and Brother and also a little ray of sunshine!
Kiephis was an amazing and wonderful new world to Owain. With everything submerged in water, sounds were easier for his little ear nubs to pick up, and although he wasn't the strongest of swimmers, he was enjoying himself immensely, having found that a steady up-and-down beating of his fleshy nudibranch tail provided a somewhat stable forward drive. He had to use his front legs to steady himself from time to time, to keep from rolling over in the sometimes strong current left by other hippocampi swooshing by. He had turned it into a game and hadn't made a grumpy comment in a long time!
It was easy to be distracted by the market and the colours all around, which meant that the little one lagged behind over and over as he paused to stare with awe at some new sight. He was also continuing his hunt for smooth round pebbles but hadn't yet set his eyes upon anything really special.
While Kalakara joined other and spoke of adult stuff, Owain's attention was drawn to Orisa as she lifted a golden trinket. Truthfully it was the trinket that caught his eye and with a soft gasp, the foal drifted closer until he was next to the mare staring up at her with wide open eyes. Silently of course. A silent, staring child, apparently all on his own.

Cinnamon It seemed she hadn't been the only creature within the city that had felt the shift in the world. Although, Cinnamon wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. After a few moments of her fast trot, she slowed down, her heart still racing in her chest as the feeling of unease was voiced among the other horses that had decided to visit the city for the day.
“It just hit me harder a moment ago, I’m not sure why.”
The words of one of the horses she passed by hit her ears, forcing her to a dead stop for a moment. Glancing around, the nervous Cleric made her way towards the gathering crowd.
She hated crowds. Crowds meant making small talk, and if there was one thing Cinnamon had never really been good at, it was small talk. Helping others out while they were in pain? Easy. Talking to them about their troubles or letting them prattle on as she did her work? Yeah, she could manage. She wasn't amazing at it by any means, but she could get by.
Crowds? No deal. It meant more work and effort than she was really capable of handling. She'd much rather be home or at work than speaking publicly, and yet, if everybody else was concerned about something...
Well, it was maybe worth investigating. Shyly, she moved up to the gathering forces, her ears twitching as others whispered their concerns.
"I'm... not sure what's happening... but it feels like... the world is holding it's breath... or something..." Cinnamon whispered, mostly to herself. "Whatever it is. I don't like it."

⋆ Kingston ⋆ WC: 246 - Post 3A lot of people were speaking at once. Kingston had to blink a few times just to understand what was going on. And to figure out that the fact a few more had joined them. One seemed to be apathetic, the other two tried to understand and told they were experience the same thing.
So it wasn’t just his paranoia.
He was finding it hard to concentrate, all of a sudden. His stomach didn’t change, but settling into the fact that he wasn’t alone or that more people listened to what he said made him a bit nervous and queasy. What if he was simply ruining their day with his paranoia or just being dumb? He was good at that - wasn’t he? That one was right - they should ignore the feeling and just return back to shopping. It’s all they came here for, not to listen to his random babbling.
But his mouth wouldn’t open and he couldn’t find what to say. He just looked at them all, trying to push back the feeling that stayed put. “Yeah,” was all he could say. He looked over all them again before forcing a nod, slowly pressuring himself to move, just a bit. Forcing his joins to move made him feel stiff. “We’re probably just all being paranoid, right?” There was a hallow laugh, but it didn’t quite feel funny to joke that all of them were making up a something. It would feel too coincidental.

Linnea | Harbinger (Grand Cleric)
Linnea enjoyed setting hoof in Khiepis again after her herd had been restored to order. The beautiful city that was covered under many layers of soothing water was nothing short to amazing and even her age could not prevent her from taking in the sights time and time again. This was their culture and if not so many lived on the ground above, Linnea would live down here forever. As it was however she would have to do with visiting.
Her walk down the streets had been quiet so far, browsering shops for nothing in particular. She felt something different now and then, but with Digend on the rise that feeling only made her anticipate. She continued her browsering, taking it as nothing but a good sign.
Her eye fell onto a particular horse, a blessed one. She heard Cascade had blessed the particular individual with fins. A blessing rare and more prove to Linnea that the gods had a plan. The worthy were chosen and rewarded. Though she had been doubting her godess lately, wondering about why she wanted the sacrifices stoppen so suddenly, she had understood the decission. Who were they to ask the goddess for such enormous blessing? Let alone on such unpure horses. The divine seemed to have been wrong in interpretting Cascade’s wishes and in turn had been cursed by Alya. No, the wave mother would choose those worthy to be blessed, even in life.
She approached the horse in question and dipped her head, waiting for him to greet her.

Odette || Craftsman Odette had been to Kiephis a few times in her youth, all happy memories; a time with her father and siblings. A vacation of sorts, and now was meant to be the same. Some time away from the city where her youth had been married away to a husband she hadn't loved, where her life had almost been taken twice by the Flight, and where her son was now clearly miserable living away from the sands of Sedo. She sighed into the salty water, being here, close to Cascade was soothing in a deeply spiritual way; yet being away from Haven and Eden back home caused anxiety to worry at her gut. The red mare tried to push it down, knowing her partner would want for her to be having a well deserved rest, and yet a new wave of dread suddenly ran through her. She shuddered, glancing around, and finding a few others in the street glancing about as well. "Strange..." she thought to herself, but quickly shook her head. Everyone was just on edge after everything that had happened to the Talori people as of late. It was then that her gaze was caught up by a dark coat coming her way down the street. Her heart stopped for a moment, surely it couldn't be... Kali was a common horse, not a hippocampus. But as the small group came closer it became undeniable. Moving cautiously towards the bunch, she dipped her head and fixed what she hoped was a friendly smile on her face, " Kalakara, you look well." She greeted, hoping in the span of the, what was it now? Eight years? Between their last meeting would have lessened the hatred she was sure the other held for her. post 1 || words: 293

Storms raged overhead. The surface was thrown about, the type of weather to sink ships and dash swimmers against the rocks. The type of water that drowned, and crushed, and mangled. However, down in the depths of the city, it was no more than a passing ripple.
Like the mainland, surrounded by the hurricane, it appears as if you too are in the metaphorical eye. If it angers Cascade, that she cannot touch you in her own element, you do not know. If it is her work keeping you safe from something as you would like to believe, you can only guess.
It does not remain like this though. You have felt the tension in the current. It is as if the very earth is holding its breath; as if the ocean itself has been stunned into silence, in the next moment it seems to recognize the presence, the tension. The ocean Knows him. BROTHER, YOU ARE WELCOME HERE The whisper seems to float on the current. The confusing thought has no origin, but it needs none. You understand her voice; she is familiar.
Her words seem directed not to dissolve the tension around you, but to act as the blade to cut it free. Had the earth and sea been holding its breath before, then it now exhales. The eruption is no laughing matter. In mere seconds, the world seems to seize, the ocean is no longer without ire, the currents picking up in seconds.
Something has happened and the city begins to crumble and die where it stands.
___
Welcome to hell my fish friends! A volcanic fissure has just opened up in the western sectors of Kiephis. It's slowly opening up larger and the poisoning the ocean. In addition to the rough currents and the fissure in the earth, Kiephis has begun to crumble, good luck escaping the city. You'll be prompted with different obstacles throughout your race to get out of the toxic waters!
The following characters (Orisa, Odette, Owain, Cinnamon, Corrine, and Tiffany) are going to make their big move over to Talori 607: Troublesome Tetris!

Kali turned to look behind themself, realizing that Owain was no longer by their side. A moment of panic set in, as they turned in a circle, attempting to locate the little scamp. They wanted to keep their son close to their side while in the depths of Keiphis...or actually at any time. Since the fiasco with Moree's age, they had become just a tad overprotective of their young, frail child. Before they could locate the child, a voice called Kali's attention away. A very familiar voice. A voice that they would know anywhere, at any time, regardless of how long it had been since they heard it last. Whipping about, the black overo found themself face to face with their ex-girlfriend, Odette.
Kali's mouth dropped open. Anger flashed in their eyes, the first emotion they felt at seeing the red mare again. But it was quickly replaced by something other. After all, Odette's current boyfriend, Eden, had been kind enough to perform the marriage ceremony between Kali and Daemyn. If he could forgive the black horse for stealing his girl, perhaps it was time to put the past where it belonged. Moments passed, before the overo found themself able to speak. "Odette...you're looking well," they stammered, their expression changing to a neutral one, as they struggled to put emotion aside and treat the blood bay mare as one deserving of respect.
Before they could say anything else, all hell broke loose. The earth, which had seemed so calm moments earlier, split in two, between the mare and overo, cutting off any contact that they could have had. Steam hissed, bubbling up from the earth as immense heat hit the waters, churning them and bringing forth bombarding, whirling currents. Kali found themself knocked back, choking on toxic waste as it spewed forth from the ground beneath them. Apparently, Kingston had been right.

"Certain things catch your eye, but pursue those that capture the heart." ~Native American Proverb § Lulu barely got anywhere, she had swum and turned, slowly hovering backwards in the tide as she awaited the small group to continue. She would much rather focus on good rather than feelings. They all felt tense, despite some dismissing it. And it was within a few short moments when they all realized what exactly was causing this tenseness. She felt insecure when Kingston mentioned paranoia. She hated the idea, despite the probability. Her eyes went to Linnea, who had approached and appeared to know the stallion. She said nothing, but dipped her own head in respect.
She noted the foal breaking away from his guardian, who was being greeted by a blood bay mare, though he was still close enough to be seen. There was a pang of sadness, as she subtly wished her mother and little brother were with her, but she knew, bitterly, the two would never see this city.
Especially now… Fire and water don’t mix, they never have and never will.
The earth split open and the contents filled the water in a haze of bubbles and toxins. The new current, blasted from the earth below, sent buildings crumbling and equines spinning, including Lulu herself. Steaming hot bubbles collided with the falabella and sent her spiraling, a screech leaving her lips as she fought to control her stability.
The horses she was with were scattered as Kiephis was fell all around them.
“Watch out!” Ilhuicaatl yelled hoarsely, earthen corruptions stinging her throat. “We have to get out of here and away from the eruption!”
She didn’t particularly have a need to save anyone, not that she could even if she wanted to. Too small, smaller than even most of the youngest foals.

Madoka | Agriculturist Madoka surveyed the markets with curious, calculating eyes, keeping in mind the strict instructions he had received from his employer. Reaching out with his teke, he made certain that the items in his saddlebag were still there and made off through the milling crowd. He had just passed an overo mare when he noticed the ocean's surface, way above their heads had become disrupted and angry as though a wild storm had suddenly hit shore. Strange as it was seeing this from underneath the ocean's surface, Madoka knew the tell tale signs all too well. His insides went cold, watching as if from the eye of a hurricane as the currents swept around Kiephis. He liked to think the Wave Mother was protecting them, but at the same time he couldn't dismiss the feeling of unease that had began to edge it's way into his mind. Few others seemed to notice the ocean's rage, or if they did they felt safe knowing that Cascade was protecting them.
At least, that was until he heard the whisper. The strange and ethereal voice that filled him with yearning but also fear. He knew who it was who spoke. Spinning wildly in his heels, he looked around, trying to see if she had taken up physical form. He didn't know what he was expecting, perhaps he should have heeded the words instead of following the voice for the building tension had finally erupted. Madoka was swept back by the sudden and angry current, barely missing the overo mare and somehow managed to stop himself from hitting a buckskin stallion as he fought to regain his footing. His head swirled and he coughed roughly, trying and failing to catch a fresh gulp of oxygenated water. Somewhere behind him he heard a voice call out in among the screams and shouts of fear. The underwater city had begun to fall around them.

⋆ Kingston ⋆ WC: 276 - Post 4Kingston was silent; he didn’t care to admit it, but he started to drift out of the conversation, out of his head even. The paranoid anxiety being unable to cut through. He didn’t listen to the conversation around, he didn’t pay attention to new horses come or go. But he did notice though, that the surface had lost it’s calm - something only a pointed keen glance could reveal. But they were safe below water - weren’t they?
The answer to that question felt hollow, he couldn’t find it in him to reply to his own question with a yes.
His gaze shifted forward, eyes widened. His dropped stomach seemed to jump and run with the voice just audible - familiar. But it didn’t make him feel safe, instead it made his throat dry. He was about to whisper for them to run - to the horses around him, but he didn’t have time. In seconds, before he could react, a sound caught his ears; his head whipped around to see a sight and sound that hadn’t been there a second before; the city ripped apart and spewing into the streets.
He listened to instinct, moving sharply to avoid a flash of bubbles and steam suddenly breaking his way. He didn’t stop to make sure everyone is ok, he only could bark in urgency, “stay together, we have to get out - now!” In a voice so harsh it was almost settling to hear from him; not that anyone had time to notice that. He didn’t have time to see how many were even with him, instead he was moving, rushing to get out - safely.

Kalakara | Post Four
Toxins burned the black paint's mouth, eyes, and throat as they struggled to breathe and see through the haze. Waves, pushed forth by the fissure in the seafloor, buffeted them from side to side, jarring their spine and causing them to flip and writhe in the water. Panic began to set in as the shark hippocampus struggled to right themself, watching in horror as the city began to fall around them. How in the holy hell were any of them going to escape this deathtrap?
It was then that Kali realized Owain had drifted from their side. A new wave of fear overtook them. It slammed their heart against their ribcage, and made their stomach plummet violently. Their breath came in short,cough-sprinkled gasps. "MY BABY!" Shrieked the distraught mustang, violently swimming against the current in effort to reach him. Kingston's words echoed in their ears, but they paid no heed, instead they struggled against the waves and noxious fumes. They made no headway.
"OWAIN! PLEASE, CASCADE, BRING MY BABY!" begged the terrified parent. Their voice was mostly lost amongst the sounds of the city falling. A sob broke from the night-colored horse's throat, as they realized that Owain was gone, on the other side of the gaping volcanic hole.
"Please," they whimpered, blue eyes searching for any sign of him. "Come back, baby. Please." They were pleading, as they swam up and down the length of the fissure, headless of the crumbling city. It seemed that they were not going to move any time soon, unless dragged away from the volcano's edge.

Ooc: feel free to push/grab/drag Kali along with y'all.

Linnea | Harbinger (Grand Cleric)
Linnea didn’t get much time to start, let alone finish conversation as chaos erupted around her. Things seemed to move slowly and quickly at the same time as a god -which one Linnea couldn’t determine at the moment, but she would ponder later- spoke and the city was tossed up to crumble before her eyes.
Thoughts of Ignacio crossed her mind, but as the city started to fall she decided there was no time now. It had begun and she needed to be a shepherd to the sheep. How painful was it though that such beautiful city had to have laid waste to. Right. No time.
She would not die here, she still had a role to play. She was sure of this, even as the eruption did its best to posion the water. Those that were meant to would survive. With that in mind, she started swimming, up and away. Some horses disappered from her field of vision while some stayed near, all but one with the same purpose. Escape, survive. A foolish one lingered, calling for a child. Linnea had little mercy as she gave the equine in question a shove.
“Move, child! If Cascade wills it, your child will be safe, but it will do little good for them to have a dead mother!”
Of course it was not Cascade who’s will would dictate the outcome, Digend deciding over all, but the thought of Cascade could comfort for now. She pulled with her teke as she swum by but left it at that. If she did not come, she would perish and that was that. Those who took no guidance were better left out off better times.
“We,” -the worthy “shall make it out of this.”

"Certain things catch your eye, but pursue those that capture the heart." ~Native American Proverb § More bubbles and hot, poisonous water buffeted the small hippocampus around in the water. Once beautiful stonework of the ancient Kiephis tumbled down around her, creating currents that threatened to drag her down. She briefly noticed a roan and buckskin chimera being sent nearly into Kali and Kingston, and soon after that, the squid hippocampus was barking orders at them. She took a dangerous moment to look down into the depths. Even underwater, even with all the bubbles rushing to the surface, she could see the angry red and orange that lurked in the newly developing trench.
She had heard time and time again Ignacio couldn’t be trusted, that fire was angry and would destroy everything it touched. But the fire came from Kaia’s earth, buffeting against Cascades water.
Another flurry of bubbles slammed into her and knocked her spinning onto her back. It was then she got a good look at the waters above. The storms had gotten worse, those waves weren’t just because of what was going on down here. Panic was starting to set in, her brother and mother were on the mainland. Was this explosion affecting them in any way, and was the storm tearing up Inaria? Was there anywhere actually safe for them?
With her mind starting to spiral out of control, she violently shook it. She was too smart for these pathetic thoughts. Growling, she forcibly flipped herself right-side up, barely dodging another falling column. Her eyes snapped to the overo mare when she started calling out for her child. Ears pinning back, Lulu moved towards Kali when Linnea stepped in. She said nothing as she quite literally, and inharmoniously, reached to Kali’s ears with her tentacle mane to try to drag the mare away from the fissure.
“She’s right, we have to go, NOW! Your child is in Cascades hooves, don’t throw your life away hoping!”

Madoka | Agriculturist Madoka didn't need the directions given by the others. He was already swimming through the rushing water currents, occasionally coughing up the toxins he was inhaling from the waters. Someone was calling for their child and Madoka quickly realised it was the overo that he had tumbled past. The city was crumbling around them, the poisonous plumes of volcanic gases was filling the oceans current. Horses were split up, great spires of ocean rock falling around them. Even if he could, Madoka knew the lost foal would be difficult to find in all of this chaos. The other seemed to agree, time was of the essence. Madoka knew all too well the pain of losing a loved one and he had to resist the urge to go and look for the child himself. Gritting his teeth, he turned towards what he thought could be an escape route. "This way!" He called out over the roar of the ocean and falling city, making a motion with his head for the rest to follow him. Cascade had given them an opening and with or without these equines, he was going to take it.

⋆ Kingston ⋆ WC: 204 - Post 5Kingston looked back, perhaps out of caution, perhaps out of worry, but he did. And he saw the scene of a mother calling for her child lost on the other side. Other horses tried their best to drag her away, but the words they used sent his stomach squirming. Enough to return the way he came, joining the horses trying to persuade Kalakara to move. He was a lot less hurried with his actions, but his words were still urgent.
“Cascade wouldn’t hurt your child,” it was almost a bit bitter in his tone. To think others would accuse Cascade of testing a child. “It’s a busy street, no one would leave a child in danger.” He sounded confident, but didn’t dwell on it. “But they’re right, you’re the one who’s in danger, the longer you stay and cry for them when theres no hope on reaching them. Come, we’ll find them back at the surface.” It was hard to remain calm and persuasive when he felt the rising danger in his chest. Kingston followed the other’s motions, gently nudging her. He then left her side, flashing off the way he came. “We’ll be dead if we stay.” Panic was rising into his voice.

Kalakara | Post Five
The black overo's form was tumbled about by the thrashing waves, as well as the horses buffeting them from all sides, urging them to leave their child behind and swim for safety. How could they possibly leave their baby behind? He was so weak, so small. He needed Kali to protect him, keep him safe from the toxic waters boiling about them, and the falling columns of the city about them. But as horses assured the overo that Cascade would let no harm come to their child, they began to see sense. If Moree had survived the bombing of the Talorian city, and the loss of her leg, only to recover and become the bright, healthy Cleric she was today thanks to the Goddess's hand, then no harm would come to the child. Clearly, Cascade was not a fan of losing children, as seen by the sacrifice that last year, and what events had followed.
As horses tugged at and pleaded with the black hippocampus, they finally turned away from the fissure, shark like tail cutting through the waves as they swam along with the others, making time as they searched for a way to the surface. Once there, they prayed that their son would be waiting, healthy and happy.

"Certain things catch your eye, but pursue those that capture the heart." ~Native American Proverb § Lulu had nodded in response to Kingston. Of course, Cascade wouldn’t hurt a child...a hippocampus child, the Falabella thought bitterly. But now wasn’t the time to think that way, especially when someone else invaded Cascade’s waters. There had been many in Kiephis, and Ilhuicaatl was sure she remembered seeing the child with another, so likely he was still with that other horse. What good would it do to have that horse abandon a child that was obviously not with his mother?
She had turned away from the others towards where Kingston had indicated earlier, all the while bubbles still flowed around them from where pillars fell and statues collapsed, clashing together with the flow from the fissure, likely becoming a toxic spume on the water's surface above. It was beautiful in some strange way...
“We’ll find your child once we get to safety, but the fissure will not cease where we are now. We can only pray Cascade can stop the flame so others find safety.”
And she felt confident in that fact. Despite her feelings about how Cascade handled Pegasi, she was sure that few would die in Cascades watery embrace, if at all. Even though another entity was trying to kill them, be it Kaia or Ignacio, she believed she could feel Cascade protecting them all. And that all extended to the little foal who had wandered from his mother at the wrong time.
“Quickly now.” She breathed, dodging a falling stone, multicolor fin rippling swiftly against her sides.

The response to the fissure opening, the toxification of the water, and the resounding groan as the city began to fall was quick. You are quick to begin swimming, dragging along those that have frozen in fear as a way of saving them too. You've picked a route, and it appears clear, this is until the first pillar falls, sinking heavily. In the immediate area around it, you feel the water threaten to drag you down, caught in the dredges of the falling object's path.
While you watch that first pillar sink, one falls behind Madoka, and another just in front of Kalakara. Another looms above Illhuicaatl.
In addition to the sinking pillars, surely which used to line decorative pathways, hold up extravagant arches or accent buildings, there is something else. Or, perhaps three somethings. They look like large metal disks, likely part of a musical installment somewhere in the upper levels of the city. The disks, large and dangerous, seem to glide through the water, and quickly. One crashes into a building that lines the group's path; chunks of stone and debris rain from the spot, and the disk, while slowed, remains in motion.
The two with unaltered paths glide dangerously close to both Linnea and Kingston.
___ Pillar people! If your character has 50 or more stat points allotted to their agility or speed stats then you can dodge your pillars without any injury! (Unless you would like to injure your character, I'm honestly not gonna stop you.) If you don't make the requirement, then post for your character and alert the others that your character is going to need assistance getting back up and on track!
Disk people! If your character has 50 or more stat points allotted to their speed stat then they can escape the disks unscathed! (Unless you would like to injure your character, I'm honestly not gonna stop you.) If you don't make the requirement, then post for your character and alert the others that your character is going to need assistance getting back up and on track!
For example if my character Oyster only has 45 in both their agility and speed stats then they can't dodge the pillar. They'll say something like, "Woah bros! Help me out please!" After getting hit and at the bottom of the post OOC you will let everyone know: 'Hey Oyster's gotten hit, he'll need Fisheye to come rescue him!' just so everyone knows what's going on! The exact same goes for if you successfully dodge the pillars/disks! Let everyone know you're ok!
