Cleone Every person is a new door to a different world With the opportunity to have a day in the city, the young trader had lingered after their meeting with the council to gaze and wander around. Summoned by the council to go over a list of supplies the herd needed and what they could trade to other countries, and then dismissed by the said council when the day’s agenda had concluded early, it left plenty of time in their schedule to see the city a little. Cleone didn’t often, if she was honest, always away from Sedo or at the ports since becoming a trader. While they enjoyed being out at sea, getting to interact with the other herds and meet new faces, it didn’t leave much time for visiting Sedo’s jewel of the desert. A hidden oasis protected by the very canyon it was carved into, the city was always a breathtaking sight to take in.
Maybe if life had taken her down a different path, if she’d decided to squash down her wanderlust for at least a couple more years, she could have become a creator. Working with the city, assisting in projects to make it even more beautiful than it already was. There would have been more time for jewelry, shopping, visiting the library or drinking tea beside the river… but that’s what made visiting so special, she figured. It wasn’t often they got to see others in the city, mingle with common folk of their own herd. There weren’t many days they got to simply roam down the stairs and streets of the city, taken with new additions or paintings added to the canyon walls.
She stood there then, seemingly out of the way of others that meandered on their way if they did not stand around to catch up with their friends, admiring a paint she hadn’t noticed the last time she’d been. Was it new? Curiosity rose her brows before she stepped closer to inspect the work of art, awing at the piece with what must have been an impressed ‘wow’ under her breath. How long had such work taken to paint? They almost wanted to ask someone nearby selling wares that could have seen the project done, an ear flicking to thought before they shook their head and took a step back to turn and walk away. She should go and check out some of the stores, possibly look for something to buy. Have some fun before she had to return home and then board a ship in the following days.

Waking up early was something the young stallion had grown used to, knowing the best time of the day to gather water when it was still cool across the hot desert. But having to wake up early to go to the capital city of Sedo was something he hadn't gotten used to. The bustling city of Osulas had numerous of different equine coming in and out, trading with the people there or visiting family or some other matters that shouldn't be spoken about. Bayek's small and ever-growing family only visited the bustling city when it came to shop at the trading market. Yet to him, it meant more people staring at his eyes whenever he speaks to buy an item or asking others to please move out of his way. The young stallion had places to be and simple resources to get for the people of Serora.
'It's always crammed packed here. Why can't you all trade somewhere else?' Bayek sighed heavily, twitching his ears in annoyance.
Carrying this type of attitude was bound for him to be disrespectful but in all honesty, he doesn't mean for it come out like that. For someone his age, it was quite common to dedicate yourself to the work you have. Rarely getting the chance to sleep; him refusing to rest till the job is done correctly, makes him come out a tad bit grouchy. But the young stallion knew better to let others see or sense his slight annoyance with today's events. If Alya had given him the chance and led him to different path, he would've chosen the path of becoming a Warder. His sense of protection and allegiance to his Sultan and the people of Sedo was a strong pulling tug to his heart but the ever so beautiful Alya had chosen him to stay humble and continue being part of The Folk. Bayek saw this as the simple lifestyle and another way to contribute to his society and possibly teach him to quit being a hard-headed brat.
His back felt heavier than usual, normally carrying water was his job but this time he had to carry today's loads of resources along with the filled-up water satchel. Furrowing his brows, Bayek couldn't understand why his mother thought it was a good idea to go shopping this early for the trading hub was nearly packed. Right now, he could be visiting the library, avoiding this obstacle and getting himself lost in the fantasy worlds that the books offered in return. There was so much life in the city, so many friendly faces that were too cheerful. There were also numerous of unfamiliar faces, possibly outsiders coming to visit this city. Some looked like first-timers entering upon this new territory; their facial expressions gave them away, having that newbie look struck on them.
'Right, I can't let my sour-face ruin the mood. I must be friendly, or I'll come out as a big ol' meanie and ruin the new experience to the new folk.' Thinking upon to himself and forming a sly smirk, Bayek opened one his satchels to quench his thirst. More people to see his eyes and more people for his giant wings to bump into. Now this was going to be a fun day.
Getting lost in his thoughts, his wings knocked over some orb object from one of the stands, sending it to roll out in front of him. Noticing his family somehow manage to get ahead of him, he quickly jogged to reach to them only to see his life flash before his eyes. It was quite sudden and all that Bayek could remember was his legs flying over himself and his water flying out onto someone else and hearing gasps.

Cleone Every person is a new door to a different world There were smaller vendors that caught golden eyes, drawing the hippocampus to them before the stores were hit. Trinkets, anything that shined, and gems or gold that took the breath away for those that could admire the quality of craftsmanship. They ensnared the trader, the Seroran smiling over at those who ran the stalls and asking questions or laughing alongside them when they gave out offers or promises of their wares. As one who also had to deal with business, Cleo knew better than to give into prompts or linger much longer than she had to for a polite conversation while she looked around.
The stores reached out for them, tucked into the canyon side, offering shade from the warm sun the beat down on her darker coat. What relief it would be to duck inside, have a nice cup of tea or make her way to the library to read some books. On the agenda that day, of the list of activities Cleone could have wanted to participate in and had planned on going about it when a step was taken in a different direction from the tempting stands and their jewelry, it was highly doubtful getting splashed by a sudden ‘bout of water in the middle of the market area had been among them. The chill of water splattering across their body, a step taken back when stumbling with surprise.
Maybe, if she had paid more attention, Cleo might have heard the clatter and avoided everything all together. There’d been a word of complaint to something being knocked from a stand that had gone over round ears, those same ears pointed forward to the stranger that had tumbled wings and all. “Are you alright?” was the first thing to slip from Cleone’s lips, the hippocampus stepping forward to offer the pegasus who had slipped (on what she had no idea) a shoulder up. “It seems like you took quite the fall there - and your water,” she remarked as if remembering it had spilled on her, darkening her coat even more, with a glance at herself before her gaze returned to the other equine apologetically, “I’m sorry it… seems to have - well your satchel seems a little empty now, stranger.” Laying there in the dirt and sand, deflated from its lack of contents, Cleone would have moved to pick it up and dust it off for the poor fellow if she hadn’t been offering him help up first.

A small sting of pain in the young stallion's head caused him to groan in discomfort. If he had payed more attention and tucked in his wings closer to his body, Bayek wouldn't had fallen. He felt embarrassed for falling over like that in front of who knows how many equines. This just made him feel like a clumsy young colt who was learning how to walk for the first time. It took awhile for him to register another voice calling out to him.
"Are you alright? It seems like you took quite the fall there - and your water, I’m sorry it… seems to have - well your satchel seems a little empty now, stranger.”
Finally regaining his vision, Bayek took in notice of the young hippocampus mare offering to help him up. Leaning his weight a bit on the stranger, he hoisted himself up and made sure to not go so fast. Getting himself able to stand properly for a while, Bayek focused on the stranger a bit more now, noticing that her coat had a bit more darker shade than the rest. Small water droplets dripped off the stranger, causing him to question why just that part of their body was wet. Coming into realization that was where his water had landed, he drew in a sharp inhale.
"By the heavens! I'm deeply sorry, I-I didn't mean for you to get drenched by my water," was the first thing he blurted out to the stranger. How could he be so clumsy in his mistakes by getting another poor soul into his situation? Bayek tried to maneuver to one of his cloths to help dry her off but his enormous wings started knocking over other vendors valuable objects. He apologized profusely, causing his already red face to take a deeper shade of red. Today was not just his day.
"Pl-please forgive me, I'm such a stumblebum." Finally able to get a hold of his cloth, he gently put it over the stranger, minding her personal space.
"I apologize again if it is quite small, that's all I have on me..."

Cleone Every person is a new door to a different world Perhaps they needed a bit of water splashed onto their face? Uncertain, Cleone flicked their ears back and glanced at others before, finally, the boy by her hooves stirred. He said no words as he used her for support, concern drawing in the features of her face, but Cleo didn’t bombarde them with anymore questions. Let them take their time, adjust to their surroundings and what had happened. They surely needed a moment, so Cleo bit the inside of her lip to keep from asking if they were alright a second time.
The first thing to come from the stranger’s mouth? It was not the exclamation of how sorry they were and how they didn’t mean to get her drenched. Oh, right. Nearly forgetting between the incident and helping the stallion to his hooves, Cleone couldn’t help but to laugh. It started as a quiet giggle that escaped her mouth before ending with a soft snort as she shook her head to get control of her laughter. “It’s quite okay!” she assured, offering the poor boy a smile. “Accidents happen all the time, you don’t need to-” Worry. The word was cut off when the pegasus began to frantically turn, wings knocking over objects that got more objections from their vendors and causing Cleo to take a startled step back to avoid being whacked.
Today really wasn’t their day.
Regardless, when he settled and was even kind enough to offer her one of his own cloths to drape over her, Cleo found something odd in the gesture. He hadn’t needed to, but what did some Serorans do that were? They were always looking out for another, always offering help and smiling. It was something Cleone did best: giving the boy another reassuring smile. “It’s fine.” He still hadn’t needed to; she was a hippocampus after all. What was a little water except refreshing on a warm, sandy day? Sympathetic to the effort gone to to grab the cloth, Cleone didn’t offer it back at the time as they took a polite step away and gestured to the mess made others had stepped in to begin helping the vendors.
“Here, let’s help, yeah? Would you also like for me to go and help you get more water after this is cleaned up? I’d be happy more than happy to.” It would add onto the excitement for the day, that was for certain. Cleone hadn’t expected so much to happen and, while holding the stranger to no fault, did find it amusing how life had ways of throwing funny twists and turns into the most normal of days. To not make it seem as if she was laughing at them, she did her best to keep her smile at bay as she began to pick up various items in the soft glow of her teke and cast a few side glances at the pegasus.
