Gale hadn’t wanted to trek back to the city when the prayer gathering ended but he hadn’t wanted to take his band out on their normal wanderings either in case they were needed in these difficult times. So here they stayed removed from the hustle and bustle but not so far removed as to be out of easy reach. The days since Alya’s sudden appearance atop the landing passed in a blurry daze for Andine at first. Perhaps it was that way for others too because no one really bothered to insist that she do anything specific until Grandmother snapped out of it and noticed she was wandering around idle and unproductive. That was just this morning. So, now she is out beyond the encampment currently nestled at the base of the God’s Landing mountain. Fern needed supplies and Andine was the one most likely to actually find the exact things she was after, or so the old lady said.
At first the thought of being able to help her Grandmother had Andine feeling proud and determined to complete the task to the best of her ability. Unfortunately the things she had been sent to find proved harder than normal to locate given the amount of recent traffic through the area… too many careless hooves trampling important plants. Hob had accompanied her when she left the camp early in the morning but Hob being Hob, he grew impatient with the endeavor after a few hours. Andine could only role her eyes in exasperation when the fluffy pony started bouncing antsy circles around her demanding to know how much longer this would take. He is two years older than she is yet sometimes he acts worse than her younger siblings. In the end she told him to go away and he did, in a huffy pout.
That left her with the important business of finding those things she was still missing and it needed to be done quickly before the sun got too much higher and hotter in the sky. The day had already warmed up enough to make her feel sluggish. So, nose to the ground, and probably not paying as much attention to her wider surroundings as she should, the milk and chestnut coated girl headed further and further away from the rocky tower that made up the holiest place in Sedo. A shadow crossed her path as she wandered and this brought her up short for there wasn’t anything around to be casting such a shadow… or there shouldn’t be. Blinking she raised her head and looked to the front then to each side before finally turning so that she might see behind her. There, at last, she spotted the cause of the mysterious shadow. A lean, athletic mare stood there with keen eyes and a coat painted similarly to Andine’s own though this stranger’s splattering of white is much larger. She is of a height that the younger girl is likely to reach herself and like her lacks the prominent Seroran feature… wings. This realization brings a fleeting frown to the girl’s face.
“Um, hello! Have you been following me? No, no, sorry… of course you haven’t I only just spotted the shadow. But then how...”
She tips her head to the side looking all around the stranger until her eyes find the decorative but clearly functional board and snap wide open.
“Oh! Alya’s wings! You’re...a … a wind racer aren’t you? That’s just... wow… yeah, wow! I’ve never met one before. Do you have an important message or something? Can I help you find someone?”
With each exclamation she has taken an excited step closer and now stands right in front of the older female a bright grin splitting her face as she looks up.
