The stallion limped through the autumn woods, silver gaze flitting toward the horizon where the sun was beginning to edge toward the earth in a slow and steady creep. Lungs took a deep breath inward, before it exploded out again in a curse. “Kaia’s tits, there’s gotta be somewhere in this bloody area to sleep that isn’t under a tree,” Sin groused, brows furrowed as he continued to move on.
Attention roamed the area about him, senses on alert (even if slightly dulled by pain), for anything untoward around him. He didn’t really want to happen across any wolves or bloody minded cult yahoos if he could help it. Not that he was in the best condition to sneak around them, but he intended to do his best. He still wasn’t sure exactly how he’d managed to sprain his lower leg in that last caravan heist, but somehow during his getaway run it’d happened.
And since he’d continued running so as not to get caught...the thief winced at how swollen the area above his hoof looked, and knew it wasn’t going to feel any better in the morning. “Just great,” he muttered to himself, trying to avoid putting any pressure on the limb.
The shadows were just beginning to really lengthen between the trees when the sound of running water burbled into his ears. With a sigh of relief he shifted toward it, pausing a moment to slack his thirst and soak his sprained ankle. “Ohhh that feels divine,” the vagabond breathed, as the cold water helped to numb away the soreness.
It was as he was standing there that he noticed the shadows beneath the giant trees looked...different. Focusing on said in-congruence, his attitude brightened considerably when he made out the shape of a house, though there were no lights in the windows. Maybe no one was home? If so, that worked out better for him, he could just let himself in for the night.
With a short, jaunty whistle the stallion limped toward the structure, eager to see if he’d be able to snag a spot indoors to sleep and recover for the night. Even so, he loosened his dagger in it’s sheath with a touch of silver teke.

Aurora
Dainty hooves twirled, the small creature moving with ease through her put together abode. The wood creaked, the roof leaked, drafts aplenty but it was hers and something that belonged to her. Something she cherished and did all she could to keep it as bright and shiny and welcoming as possible. Her days were spent caring for the garden, harvesting what was available and then traveling to the creek to replenish her water supply. A busy day each day but something she knew was essential to the safe house’s function.
As the day turned to night, the small mostly cream pegasus with pink hues turned to tending to the items inside her home. A small fire burned in the stone fireplace, her dented metal teapot humming softly as if to announce it was time to save it. Soft pastel pink teke slowly eased the pot up and off it’s place above the fire. The base was set with care on her wooden table, a reed woven pad underneath it not to burn the surface.
Soon she was pouring tea into her favorite cup, sipping from the rim with a small happy sigh. The mood was quickly broken, the peace and tranquility shattered as a knock came to her door. Blinking the small girl rose from her place before the fire and wrapped herself in her saddle bags and forgotten cloak. “Hello?” She asked softly, easing the door open.
Before her stood a muscled tall piece of stallion, yet one look over them shoved the swollen hock and with a startled gasp, the pegasus flared her wings. “Oh my, please! Do come inside and let me see if I can help with that!” Frantic and worried eyes looked up into Sin’s, wings holding the door open as she gestured with the other towards the fire. “I just brewed some tea, would you like some? Are you cold? Would you like a blanket?”

It didn’t take long at all after his knock before the wooden portal eased open, and sharp silver eyes gazed into a pair of soft purple, echoed by an equally soft voice. The stallion had just started to open his mouth, drawing lips up in a charming smile when he startled at the flaring wings. Less than a moment later he was ushered in before a fire, settled on a fur with a blanket draped over him, and blinking at the pastel creature before him. Well that had been...easier than expected.
“Uh, yeah, I’d be grateful for some tea actually,” Sinarin replied, blinking again, in a rather dumbfounded fashion as he studied the other equine. Small and petite, a pastel pegasus that seemed out of sorts in a hut out in the woods. And one that could easily be taken advantage of if he just swept horses in off his doorstep.
“Uh, say dove, do you always just let people inside your house? Don’t you know that could be dangerous?” It was the first thing that came to his mind, which was ironic, since his very plan had been to take advantage of whoever had owned this cottage to try and snag a warm spot for the night. Not that he’d been planning to steal anything (right away), but he had definitely been intending to charm his way in and maybe offer whatever help he could with his bum hock to earn a spot to sleep.
But this little pegasus seemed to require some sort of warning about the dangers of the world. He could have been a cultist, for Cascade’s sake!

A sweet smile graced her lips, unable to stop from shaking her head. As the liquid moved from the teapot and into another cup, the little pegasus tipped her head. “Now now, I haven’t come across one yet, those nasty cultists have worse things to do then bother little old me.” Handing the cup to the injured stallion she shifted the blanket on him just enough to cover his form a bit better. The pitter patter of hooves on the wood beneath her feet sounded in the space around them as she shifted easily around his form.
“Second, do I look like a fella to you? Of course not!” She giggled and tapped her hoof against his shoulder. “So please, call me her and I’ll get to work on soaking that swollen ankle of yours. How did you hurt it anyways?” The sweet gentle sing song voice of the trans female fluttered from her lips, settling down beside his hind quarters to pick up an ice cold soaking cloth, wrapping it gently around his injury.
Wings spread again and slowly used one to make sure the door was closed, the other draping more firmly over his back to hold him steady. Her pastel pink Teke then gently put pressure on the cloth, feeling softly around the swollen area to see if it was more than just a sprain. “Take a deep breath sugar. This could hurt a bit.” She warned.

It was...distinctly odd being fussed over like this. The thief hadn’t had this kind of care since he’d left home all those years before, when he was just a tenderfoot. Still though, he wasn’t about to complain in the slightest as he took the cup of hot brew and cast a grateful wink at the dainty equine shuffling about him.
However, at the inquiry, he only blinked again. His tongue wanted to automatically supply the answer of ‘yes’, but his brain reacted to the question differently, giving him the feeling it was one of those female trick questions. You knew the answer you wanted to say, but you also knew the answer you had better say. And after a moment’s thought studying the pegasi’s form, he supposed this equine really did seem like a ‘her’. It made him uneasy, but he wasn’t the one who ended up in the judges seat when dealing with dispensing with everyone’s next lives. And it didn’t hurt to give in and call this little dove her, in all reality.
“I suppose not,” Sin replied, tone almost absent minded as he sipped at the tea and sighed. At the mention of how he hurt his ankle, he just grinned, if a bit sheepishly. “Would you believe I don’t really remember, dove? Either jumping wrong over a tree, or catching it in a hole running, I don’t rightly remember.” And that was actually the truth, since he’d been so keyed up on adrenaline from the successful snatch of the small shards chest, he hadn’t noticed immediately. He knew he’d stumbled a couple of times, but he didn’t remember feeling hurt...until he started to slow down and realized how much every step was hurting.
The thief hissed out a soft breath at the cold cloth, before sighing in relief. That really did feel swell. However he jumped seconds later when her wings flared, one settling down over his back. He’d never before been covered by someone’s wing, the weight was odd, if somehow rather comforting, and he found himself enveloped by the sharp scent of her flowers with her closeness. It was oddly....very refreshing as a combination, actually.
His leg jerked slightly at her prodding, an involuntary reaction, and he did suck in that breath. Which happened to be while he was taking a sip of his tea, causing him to start coughing.
“For someone who looks like an angel, dove, you sure can cause some pain,” Sin croaked weakly. Post 3 | WC//413

Aurora
The little dove knew her way around equines. It was how she had gotten to be this skilled and this alright on her own for so long. Plus most connections where good. If she treated him well, there was a high chance he would want to come back and see her again. Head tipped as she looked up and over her wing. With a soft smile she fluttered her lashes. “Don’t mean too sugar. Sometimes the pain can be good.” With a wink she looked back down at his leg.
Finally she was satisfied with her prodding and poking and stood on dainty hooves. “Well, darling, turns out its a pretty bad sprain but nothing that can’t be fixed with some tea, rest and massage.” Tapping her hooves gently over the packed dirt floors, covered by thick tendrils of braided grass she moved to her cupboard and pulled open the doors. Tail swished, her wings fluttering along her sides only to flare suddenly with a flitter as she found what she was looking.
“Seems I’m running a bit low but I’m sure another sister will be visiting soon…” The words where muttered to herself as she turned around and moved to lay down beside him, after adjusting a large blanket over his rather large form. “So I have something here to take the edge off, just a bit, but it all comes down to if you trust me.” Another of those oh so perfect sugary smiles and Aurora dipped her head. “I completely understand if you don’t granted we just met. But I do plan to work your ankle every few hours to help the swelling go down and that could become more painful then you’d like.” With a head tip, the flowers upon her brow rustled.
“Just say the word, sugar.” Her pink teke held up the vial, but waited.

A short laugh startled out of the stallion at her wink, for it was something he definitely hadn’t been expecting coming from such a mare. He could definitely say this one had some good bed side manner, and he would bet his entire stash of shards that she was a healer, a hedgewitch probably. That or a really clever and decieving cultist, but if so, well he was already doomed.
“Well, I suppose that’s good news then. Coulda been worse,” Sinarin mused, silver gaze following the dainty creature’s movement as she shuffled about her cabin and looked for something. It was entirely endearing watching her, with her wings fluttering as she found whatever she’d been looking for. This one really was a cutie. ars swiveled as he heard her soft voice, but he couldn’t catch what she was actually saying, for it had been too low. She was settling beside him again, fussing a little bit with his blanket, and holding something gently with her teke. And she did it all with that sweet, sweet smile.
Oh, he was a sucker.
“Well, nothing like living on the edge, eh? Sides, I can’t say I’m going to mind being fully in your cute hooves, dove. I’ll take it,” the thief replied, a charming grin curving lips as he reached forward to drink from the vial she held.
The dainty pegasus didn’t set off any internal warnings, and besides, sometimes you just had to gamble with life and he did have to admit it always gave him a little thrill to do so. By the way, I suppose since I’m all yours, you should know I’m Sinarin, little dove.” Post 4 | WC//277

Aurora
Aurora easily poured the vial into the awaiting mouth. If she had been anything but her sweet sugary self, there was a good chance a cultist could make a real killing with this front. But Aurora was exactly how she appeared. Sweet, caring and charismatic to a point. Once the Vial was empty the dainty pegasus adjusted the blanket once more and stood again.
This time a pillow of cotton fluff and sheep's wool was placed beneath Sin's cheek. "Here darling." The voice cooed. "The vial should take the edge off shortly and I don't want your noggin slammin' to the floor when it does." Her long thick braid pooled on the floor where she knelt before again the mare stood. This time she was less frantic, wanting to not keep Sin's attention on her as she wanted the vial to work. Instead she laid down on his other side, head facing his injured leg. Long thick tail flipped to drape over the stallions neck and give him just a touch more warmth.
"Let me know when it kicks in sugar." Granted she would probably be able to tell pretty easily from his body language but it was always smarter to communicate with ones patient. Ears flickered back and forth, wing moving to drape over his form once more, this time to keep note of his breathing and if it got softer or rougher. Wings could sure be handy tools.

The thief felt more than a little wariness as a pillow was snuggled beneath his cheek, one brow lifting. "Hun, was supposed to take the edge off, or set me to sleeping?" he quipped, especially after her comment about his head hitting the floor. Course, it wouldn't be the first that that had happened, considering the number of splitting headaches he'd woken up with over the years of over-enthusiastic nights of drinking. However he could tell that she seemed to have calmed down herself--maybe because he wasn't about to get up and go anywhere? Or injure himself any further, healers did tend to get worked up over details like that.
Silver gaze continued to follow prismatic figure as she settled herself down once more, beside him. He was beginning to feel drowsy, slightly lightheaded and detached, thanks to the combined efforts of the potions and warmth generated by the pegasus beside him. Which was odd, he found himself thinking, because having her so close should have had the opposite effect on his system.
The stallion blinked a few times, head coming to rest solidly on the pillow, muscled frame relaxed against his companion. He felt the wing across his back as a comforting weight, which was also a weird realization. He didn't dislike pegasi, not nearly as much as those on the mainland of Talori, but he'd still never really been...so intimately close with one. And there wasn't even anything happening!
"I think it's a workin'," Sin murmured, chuckling lightly with amusement. "Can't feel th'pain anymore."

Aurora
As the body beside her started to relax, succumbing to the relaxing and numbing effects of the liquid, Aurora took the cloth around his leg and started to gently massage. The swelling was already going down but the heat this leg gave off indicated a pretty intense sprain. "So sugar... Tell me what you did to get this sort of limp? Don't tell me those wolves here where bothering you?" The mares voice was as soft and chipper as always, her teke grabbing another piece of wood to throw onto the fire in between her massaging breaks. Her wing never lifted, giving the other another sense of weight and warm. At times she shifted slowly, to stretch her legs to the other side. The pins and needles of the limbs falling asleep always came with the job.
A few hours later, into the dead of night, she felt him stir. "Has the vial worn off already darlin'? I'm sorry that was my last one. I have a lighter one if you need it but I'm running low on those too..." She frowned and looked towards the bookcase. "How about some tea? Or berries? I know how hungry that potion can make someone." A tiny fluttering giggle and Aurora let off on his Ankle, slowly standing to retrieve the items. After all she was hungry and oh so thirsty too!

Head cushioned upon the pillow, he seemed to be floating in a cocoon of warmth, permeated only by the sharp but pleasant smell of flowers wafting from Aurora. That, and the pain occasionally emitting from his lower leg as the hedgewitch massaged it. It wasn't a bad pain anymore, but he could feel her pushing at the muscle, digging into certain areas, circulating the blood. A few times he'd felt himself holding his breath at particularly bad spots, but he knew in a foggy sort of way that it was only a fraction of the pain he'd be feeling if he hadn't downed that vial of whatever it was.
"Wolves? Nah, dove, wasn't wolves. Bad luck, I think, not looking where I was runnin', though I was bein' chased, it's true," Sinarin informed his pretty companion with a chuckle. "I was so keyed up, I could've landed wrong from a jump, or stuck my hoof in a hole and jerked it out...I really dunno." the thief added, tone slow and thoughtful, as he actually tried to think about when this mishap might have happened on his mad dash away from the caravan. One would think he'd remembered obtaining such an injury, but it really wasn't registering a particular moment. "Well now, maybe I do remember. I think it may'a been when I jumped this big ole tree, but came down on uneven ground, creek like, on the other side." His tone drifted off, getting quieter and quieter as he spoke, until he drifted near to sleep.
It was later when he came back to his senses more, feeling a dull throbbing from his leg, and he groaned slightly, but shook his head. Blinking, silver gaze focused on the pegasus beside him, ears swiveling forward to catch soft voice. "Nah, it's alright dove. Save it for someone who needs it more. It hurts, but I can deal with it. Not the first time I've done something stupid and had to deal," Sin replied, pulling a charming grin onto features and winking at her. Besides, if she was running low on stock, he couldn't very well take something that someone might need more. He was a thief, but he wasn't that greedy and heartless--not about things like this.
With a loud rumble, the dual colored equine's stomach answered Aurora before his voice could with words, and he laughed quietly. "Yeah, I could do with some food and drink. If you want love, there's some bread and cheese in my bags we can eat too. It might be a bit hard, being travel goods, but it's good eating, and I'm feeling mighty hungry about now."
