Judiah | Travelling Merchant
Judiah glanced back at Bates for only a second, his eyes still narrowed. He snorted and turned his head, continuing to walk into the pile of snow. He kept his head low to the ground, sniffing, listening and praying for any sign of life. He glanced up at the dark clouds above them, the light getting dimmer "It's already getting dark?" he questioned to himself, furrowing his eyebrows and trying to think of when they had left. It was little after noon, and the clouds were just beginning to cover the bright blue sky. That means that they had been lost for several hours in the storm and only made Judiah feel like an idiot, his conscious getting quilter. If they hadn't left!...no, no ifs... Judiah shook his head to clear the snow building up in his hair.
When he saw Aaron begin to dig, he rushed over, kicking up more snow in his hurry to help "did you find one?" he asked, a little out of breath. He began to help Aaron dig, revealing more and more of Kaelen. Judiah felt himself grin, his heart soaring slightly as they moved and shifted the heavy snow, freeing Kaelen from the icy prison "Once he's free, give him a quick glance over and try to wake him up. After that, try and move him away from the aftermath and start a fire again" Judiah instructed, his lips moving without really thinking "we need to get them warmed up quickly and get their circulation going again so frostbite doesn't set in" With that last statement, Judiah rushed away from them, searching for the other missing vagabond
"Jinxx! Jinxx, can you hear me!" he called, pausing to listen afterwards. With a glance up, Judiah continued his search. Night came quick in Onea, and if they didn'thurry and get a new camp up, they would certainly parish in the freezing night.

Kaelen | Vagabond Merc
The world Kaelen was trapped in suddenly shifted, he didn't know how long it had been since he'd slipped into unconsciousness but as he came to once again, his mind was only on the feeling of snow being shoved about around his figure. Even though his skin was numb, he could still feel air begin to cling to it. It was cold wind, but it was a much better feeling than the ice that had been there seconds before. As his face was unburied, he could see light through his shut lids, and once muffled voices were much clearer. He could hear Aaron, surprisingly. He didn't expect the Raider to be the one to find him. And then, a more familiar voice sounded too. Judiah. This was more promising. Kaelen could only make out a few words every now and again but he figured they were talking about a way to get the frozen mercenary out.
He needed to open his eyes, he needed to talk. After yelling he'd lost most of his ability to speak. Momentarily of course, but it was annoying having no good way to talk back to the War Forged stallion. He let out a grunt though, and flared his stinging nostrils so he could breathe more, get his lungs going quicker. He tried to open his eyes, but they seriously felt frozen shut. Great. He felt Aaron nosing around near Kaelen's neck and back, trying to get him to move. Kaelen wanted to, he was trying but the only thing he could achieve was twitching and slight, insignificant movements.
After a few minutes he managed to open one eye, it was swolen and red, and his vision was blurry. Every time he moved his blue orb, it felt ice cold. He looked at Aaron, grunting and coughing, trying to communicate. "C-can't... mo-move." He managed to stutter out. He didn't know how to help Aaron help him, but it seemed as though they may have to pull him out somehow. In the mean time he continued to try and move, get circulation running through his veins again.

War-Forged | Bates | Raider
A scoff escaped Bates' lips as Judiah glared back at him, rolling his blue eyes in irritation, albeit he dismissed the possible loathing Judiah had thrown in his direction, instead deciding to continue his search for the sabino mare he had tracked through the dense snow.
The draft whipped his head up as Aaron found Kaelen, asking extremely naive questions, emitting a pleased snort as they found the first Vagabond; irony washing over Bates like a bag of bricks. Two nostrils before his own, however, distracted the large dappled stallion from such feelings. Bates tilted his head, processing it for a moment before realizing it was Jinxx, which caused his ears to perk up and his nostrils to flare; grumbling, he gently pawed at the snow, uncovering the mare slowly, making sure she was unscathed and lacked any major injuries. With a huff, he had released Jinxx from the tight grip the snow had her in, which would eventually choke her if allowed, "Jinxx." He croaked, nearly asking for her name, unsure if she was conscious or not; subtly announcing that he had found Judiah's other companion out loud, unsure if they would hear him as he was a few ways off from the main group of horses.

Vagabond | Jinxx | Mercenary
Ruffling and sniffing nostrils flooded Jinxx's senses as the layers of heavy snow were lifted from her, relieving her sore, weak body from its crushing weight. The light blinded her, squinting her dark eyelids closed, she let out a half hearted groan, trying to shield her eyes with a foreleg.
"Jinxx." She heard a deep voice said. Who was that? It couldnt be...could it?
"Bellamy?" She said lifting her head, eyes still closed although her mouth was plastered with a droopy, almost intoxicated smile. She attempted to stand up but winced. "Its been a long time..." She said in a slurred tone, completely disoriented. "Wheres mom?" She asked, sniffing around in an attempt to place her surroundings, but instead bumped into bates foreleg repeatedly. Finally the pain and exhaustion reached her, along with the icy temperatures of course and she collapsed into a heap in the snow, eyelids fluttering slightly, almost to indicate she wasn't dead, although she would have been if it weren't for bates, ironically.

War-Forged | Aaron | Raider
Aaron kept trying to move Kaelen. He had to get him out of the snow. Positioning Kaelen slightly over his thick neck. Ad he managed to do that slowly walking over carefully to where the clearest place was. Stopping frequently to move him back up on his neck. Once he got to the thinner snowed down area. Aaron gently placed Kaelen on the ground. He ran over to collect some more longs and then managed to light it up. Moving Kaelen closer he got the full heat of the fire. "The blood will start to circulate around you're body, and so now you won't die. " Aaron sat down for a sec. Watching the numb lifeless body trying to recover.
Aaron looked around, watching both Bates and Judiah running around trying to find Jinxx, he didn't care about the vagabonds but he didn't want her to die under the snow. Aaron thought to go and help them, but when he was about to get up, he thought that the shouldn't so he sunk back down into the position to whwere he was before. Awaiting for the stallion next to him to be able to move again.

Judiah | Travelling Merchant
When he heard Bate's voice drift over the wind, Judiah quickly raised his head and looked over to where he was. He felt his hear skip a beat as he saw Bates slowly uncovering the missing Jinxx, the mare almost lifeless. With quickening breathes, he rushed over to where Bates was, helping him uncover the frozen Jinxx "She's disillusion..." he spoke, shaking his head. When she stood, he licked his lips "hey, not too fas-" was all he managed to get out before she slipped down again, landing with a poof in the snow. He gasped and tried to catch her, but couldn't "come on, we need to get her to the fire" he said, glancing over at Aaron as he built a small fire. Jinxx and Kaelen would need a few days rest to recover and make sure their muscles were working properly, but doubted that Bates and Aaron would stay.
Judiah leaned down slowly before Jinxx, and with the aid of his telepathy, he shifted the smaller mare onto his back, careful with her head "come on, let's go warm up" Judiah said to no one in particular. It would be a long, cold night.

Kaelen | Vagabond Mercenary
The dark colt felt something shift him, and he pried the other eye of his open so he could properly see what was moving him so drastically. With relief, he found it was Aaron attempting to move him to a better, more efficient place so he could heal, 'melt' in a way. His muscles, tendons and bones were frozen, so ice cold that they had begun to shut down. If he'd stayed in there any longer, he would have died. It didn't really occur to him though as he sat by the blazing flames, heat feeling ten times more intense than they would if he'd arrived with body temperature at normal. It was almost unbearable, going from feeling intensely cold to intensely hot in such a short amount of time. He wanted to scream and yelp so he could vent the pain, but his vocal chords were still fried and it would take some time before he could talk normally little own yell.
His ear swivelled toward where he could hear Bates and Judiah talking. They'd found Jinxx. Kaelen wasn't really listening to what they were saying, their voices muffled in the background of his loud, intrusive thoughts. They were thoughts that didn't make sense either, but he couldn't ignore them, and so he just lay in the thin layer of snow and dirt, staring wildly into the dancing flames, soaking in the heat and letting it wash away the ice and sleet that he'd been encased in for what seemed like an eternity. He also continued to try and move his legs, his head and his over all posture, warming up his muscles and joints again. His knees and albows ached, and the wound on his head pounded, but his suffering was in silence as he sat dazed, confused and almost lost.

War-Forged | Bates | Raider
The large draft snorted as Judiah took reins of the situation, leaving a sour taste in his mouth as he heaved Jinxx off the floor, not that it bugged him, he just preferred to be in control over things he initiated. No matter, he brushed it off, watching as the stallion struggled to carry Jinxx over to a fire; tilting his head as to who had set up the source of heat as everyone was too preoccupied with searching for the Vagabonds. "Aaron, Kaelen might have hypothermia - do not abruptly introduce him to heat, you will shock him. The same goes for Jinxx. Gradually heat them up." The experienced stallion corrected, if they were serious on keeping these individuals alive they would have to do it properly. "I saw some variation of Bee balm nearby, we can use that for tea, that'll warm them from the inside out." Bates offered, oddly friendly towards his comrades; two of which were Vagabonds.
Bates shifted in place for a moment, unsure if they had heard him, before striding around in search of said herbs; eventually spotting them and uprooting them, carefully, with his telepathy, not wanting to tear the fragile snow white bee balm's leaves. He returned with the mint and placed them a few feet away from the fire, raising his head - arching his neck as his crest irritably twitched due to the cold - "Do any of you have a canteen or a container of sorts?" Bates requested, his ears pinned backward as he unusually talked out of his normal, cold, character, clearing his throat in an attempt to dismiss such thoughts.

Judiah | Travelling Merchant
Judiah glanced back at Bates, rolling his eyes slightly as he saw how irritated his was. Judiah continued his way over to where Aaron and Kaelen where, making sure that Jinxx didn't slip from his back and get hurt even more. When he finally approached the fire, he carefully knelled down a few feet away, tiling his neck and body so that Jinnx gently landed with a soft crunch in the snow. With a sigh, he stood, his eyes looking over the two of them before looking over to the talking Bates. Judiah nodded his head without really wiling it, set in auto-mode as his mind nagged at him that it was all his fault.
Judiah walked slowly to where he had thrown of his pack, searching through the various pouches to find what Bates would need to make his medicine. By the time the large stallion had returned, Judiah had managed to find two small bottles, both filled with the remnants of a gold liquid "It's all I have that is not full... Don't worry, all it had in it was honey" he laughed softly, his eyes distant. He handed the bottles to Bates before he walked back to where Jinxx and Kaelen where "any sign of them w-" he looked over as Kaelen began to move slightly "hey, take it slow, alright" Judiah said in a gentle tone "ah crap, i think he's bleeding" he spoke, lowering his head to get a closer look at Kaelen "Aaron, could you get some bandages from my bag? They're in one of the front pouches."

Vagabond | Jinxx | Mercenary
Warmth greeted her body like a smiling friend. Jinxx awoke slowly, her frozen eyelids peeling back to look at her surroundings. Her vision was slightly blurry and she had a pounding headache, most likely a concussion. "Kaelen?" She said in a croaky voice, wincing at the sound in her ears. She regained some since of reality, remembering what had happened with the avalanche and then darkness. And Judiah and Bates and Aaron. Were they ok? She presumed so, spotting Judiah a few feet away.
"Judiah?" She croaked, almost inaudible. She attempted to sit up but groaned, dropping her sore hide onto the now hard packed snow. She wanted nothing more then to climb to her hooves and leave this wretched, freezing cold place that seemed to have it out for her. She checked to make sure she hadnt lost any of her things. Her collar was there, and so was her nose ring which she feared had ripped out during the tumble. Overall she felt alright, only sore and her head hurt like crazy, but no broken bones. What about everybody else?

Checkpoint 3: You successfully saved your herd mates, but it’s going to be a long, cold slog back up the mountain. Better make camp, treat the injuries as best you can, and head home at daybreak. Note: You guys finished your plot very quickly; you were by far the most active group! Please feel free to keep rping if you wish; you will continue to get +1AP per post until the Chapter has officially ended, providing they still meet the length requirements. Great job!

War-Forged | Aaron | Raider
Aaron got up getting the bandages from the spot Judiah said. Taking them back to him quickly he watched the large unicorn do his work to help the stallion below them. It was very great that they managed to fin them both in a reasonable time. but now they have to await the defrosting process. Aaron looked up at bates, the strong stallion next to jinxx as she started to move and talk. It was quite good that she was up already but then again it could cause more trouble. We don't know if she has any cuts at the moment, so it could make it worse if she was to have a cut.
"Judiah, we might need to get them to shelter soon, so then the heat doesn't have to battle the storm?" He questioned the stallion, he didn't know if it would be okay to move the hurt horses over to a cave or make a small shelter to make the heat be contained a bit easier. He thought to himself that it would be a good thing, but still he didn't know _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

War-Forged | Bates | Raider
Bates bobbed his head in a thankful manner before taking the containers with a small residue of honey left, making his way to the herbs on the floor which happened to be near Jinxx. The draft worked meticulously and quickly, having no visible water source he settled for placing icicles into the container instead, carefully nudging the Bee Balm inside along with a few icicles; any bacteria in the water would die out due to being boiled, plus Bates had drank worse so he deemed that it'd be safe enough for them to drink.
As Bates patiently waited for the tea to boil, the mare on the floor began to stir, Judiah's and Kaelen's name spilling from her mouth, "They're fine." He instinctively replied, staring into the crackling fire, his ears perked upward attentively. The dappled stallion quickly glanced as she attempted to get up, "You will only use precious energy, it's best if you rest." He hoarsely addressed, now turning to look at the bruised mare, refusing to say her name for no particular reason, briefly inspecting her before returning his attention to the containers that could quite easily melt away into the flames below them.
Time seemed to elapse incredibly slow but a very hushed voice managed to reach his ears, Aaron, concerned with the safety of these horses - proposing to make shelter for them. Bates bit his tongue as he held back from pitching his two cents, he wasn't being asked so he decided to keep quiet until he was provoked. He snorted as a minty aroma met his nostrils, signalling that the tea was ready, advancing towards the two canteens and quickly swiping them off of the makeshift stove above the fire. Quietly, he walked over to Jinxx, setting down the container of tea on the ice beside her before trotting over to Kaelen, who was currently being aided, and doing the same. He stood over the colt for a second, narrowing his eyes as he now took in his appearance, a rather odd looking male but he wasn't in an appropriate situation to judge.
With a shake of his massive head, he drifted away from the three horses, finding himself near Jinxx once again. Bates settled near her, respectively placing distance between them, as he watched the two stallions bandage the jittery colt. "What a day.." He whispered, directed to no one in particular, a sigh causing his sides to heave; noticeably.

Kaelen | Vagabond Mercenary
It felt as though Kaelen's ears had been plugged with icicles, and with the sudden wave of heat they'd abruptly melted away, dripping from his skull and allowing an influx of sound to swarm in. He could hear Bates talking, warning Aaron about possible hypothermia. Great. Just what he needed. He shifted his head slightly, trying to move back a little. The heat was just so intense, so gripping that he needed to move away. He scooted a few feet and slumped, breaths easing up and eyes fluttering open. He was just so tired, and hated the way he felt so exposed right now. He was usually always on high alert, ready for anything and everything. Nothing this drastic had ever happened to him, and his past injuries had been exterior and easy to ignore. But this, this was eating him from this inside out.
After a few minutes, Kaelen felt Bates place something warm and nice-smelling near him. He lifted his head so he could smell it better, finding it smelt sweet. It was steaming, and Kaelen was drawn to it. He- with stiff movements- folded his arms under his chest and rested his chin on his knees, trying to pace himself so he didn't over do it. With furrowed brows he inched toward the container, nose submerging into the liquid. He sucked in sharply, greeting the warmth as it coated his mouth and throat, closing his eyes as instant relief was brought to his raspy innards. He watched as Judiah approached with bandages, cautiously eyeing him before tilting his head forward to give him better sight of the injury. He hadn't seen it, and at the moment there was no pain coming from the broken skin itself, just a dull ache now travelling over his skull from where he'd hit it. It felt odd, being taken care of. For so long it had just been him. And he hadn't ever expected this one simple job to turn out like it had. Kaelen- he thought- was just scum to the other horses here. He was a killer, a theif and a part-cultist, and seeing them go out of their way to heal him left him lost for words.
He felt ten times better after Judiah had finished with him. He looked over at Jinxx, now beginning to recuperate as well. His eyes then trailed over to the outside world, the land beyond the thick forest. The snow was still falling, but the wind had died down and there was no sign of a snow storm anymore. That was the best thing he could have asked for. Calm weather would only make it easier for him to focus on recovering. Oh how he longed for the desert again. "I.... T-thanks." He said quietly, ears pinned and eyes wide against the darkening night. If it weren't for these horses, he'd be dead. He didn't care much for anyone but himself, but he wasn't afraid to admit that he owed these guys. Big time.

Judiah worked quickly to cover the spots that were bleeding, placing the thick gauze over the cut or gash and adding some adhesive to make it stick. Kaelen would need to get it checked out at a doctors, but this would help stop the bleeding and insure that no bacteria got it. He didn't glance at Bates when he set the lovely smelling tea down, finishing his work and making sure that he covered each spot. As he lifted his head, Judiah smiled and nodded at Kaelen "You're most welcome. I hired you, and it's only fair that a contractor takes care of his workers" he spoke, words coming out in soft puffs of smoke.
Judiah took a quick glance around before stepping over to Jinxx, glancing over her body "Did you notice any bleeding on her?" asked Judiah softly, not wanting to startle the mare too much. He looked at Bates, eyeing his face before his glance feel to his hooves "Listen, I'm sorry for being so...rude earlier, it's really not like me. I just, didn't want to lose someone under my watch..." he spoke softly, fire crackling loudly in the background "I'm sorry..."he finished, bowing his head slightly.

Vagabond | Jinxx | Mercenary
Jinxx righted herself up so she could ingest the wonderfully smelling tea that Bates had set in front of her. Speaking of bates, she eyed him as he laid down a few feet away from her. He seemed to be the cold brute type but maybe they were more alike then she cared to admit. She groaned at the thought, much too tired to be thinking thoughts as deep this fast after just having been pulled from a ton of snow.
She sucked down the tea quickly, turning the bottle on its end and taking it down quickly, the liquid making its way down her throat slowly like molasses through a frozen pipe. It warmed her belly and she sighed with relief. "ah thats good." She sighed, closing her eyes for a moment before taking another sip.
She rested for a few more moments before glancing over at Kaelen. He appeared to be recovering just fine. "How is he?" She called over to Judiah with a very abrupt voice crack that started her.
