Navjeev Fleet Footed Windracer Racing across the desert sands, Navjeev looked up at the cliff face quickly drawing closer. Osulas loomed closer, and his heart beat in his chest. He was home. Adjusting the sail, the bay managed to get just a smidgen more speed that brought him to the lower levels of the city in record time. Coming to a stop, his mane settled down in its customary place in front of his face. A toss of his head and a sly smile for anyone who might be watching flung the hair out of his eyes at the very least. Grey green eyes glanced around, looking for someone who may have noticed his small performance. He was young, and a bit cocky. The lack of a response stung a bit, but he carried on as if nothing was wrong.
Packing up his board, he grabbed it with his teke, the color the exact shade of his eyes as he held it compact besides him. While no longer on the board, he leaped into action, the speed at which his hooves flew across the ground made him convinced that Ayla was on his side. For a bulky horse, he was grace and speed that was unlike the rest of his bulkier family members. He whinnied in joy, the sound lost in the wind behind him. Somehow, luck always seemed on his side, or perhaps he was more observant in his sprints than he seemed, but the stallion managed to avoid collisions on the streets of the city, even as he raced up the stairs leading him higher and higher.
As per tradition whenever he returned to the city, he raced to the top of the city, to the farmlands that grew upon the cliff top. Once up there, he took in a deep breath, enjoying the smell of home as he looked out over all that he could see. He always loved travelling, and vowed to see the entire world, but a part of him always loved coming home. The sun beat down on his pelt, and he itched under his fluffy coat. Unlike many of the sand dwelling horses around here, he was much darker, and prone to burning. He would need to find shade soon, as his normal browns were starting to hold a hint of red to them.
Once he took in his fill of the scenery, he decided to run back down, albeit at a slower speed to make it back into the city proper. He has due in for a visit with his family, and it had been some time since he had been back. His latest run of deliveries had him all across Sedo it felt, although it was not nearly that far. Seeing as he would be crashing for the evening at his immediate family's, he decided to visit his favorite cousin to start. Hopefully she would have a break or be off a shift soon. Or however it worked. Navjeev was honestly not sure what the warder's jobs were like, just that every time he visited, Katarina did her best to make time for him.
He slowed to a trot as he approached the normal place he met up with her. He had sent a message ahead with another windracer that he would be back home today, but he had no clue if he managed to beat the message back. After all, he was one of the fastest, or so he thought. Luckily now that he wasn't on the exposed plateau, the cliff wall shaded him and it felt like a breath of fresh air as he found a comfortable spot to wait.

Katarina plunged off a high cliff, arrowing down towards the city of Osulus. Citizens gasped as she swung close to the roofs, whipping out her wings in the nick of time to glide along the edge of the city before lighting down in a busy main street. A feather or two flew off of her wings, eliciting a frown from her. It didn't bother her too much though, as it wasn't a big deal. She picked them up though, not wanting to litter or whatever with her organic material. She was an elite guard after all, and letting a little thing like that go would eat away at the rest of them.
She started to walk, tossing the fallen feathers into a trash can, noticing more than a few different colored feathers located in there as well. Guess everyone is loosing feathers now and then. She had just gotten off duty, and was going to buy ingredients for her supper tonight, when a very winded windracer (oh the irony!) galloped up to her in a cloud of dust.
He swung out a note, did a quick salute and then galloped away, presumably late for something else, as was most windracers in her experience. Well, not him.
She opened the note, reading quickly. It was from her cousin, Navjeev, who was probably already waiting for her in their usually meeting place. She snorted, tucking the note away in her bags that she had brought with her to collect her dinner and set on a quick trot.
It didn't take her long to get there, and he was already waiting, watching others go about their business in their daily lives.
"Nav, how are you? Haven't seen you in a while!" She said, smiling slightly. It was odd for her, expressing emotions. She usually didn't around most others, but Nav and a few others tended to make her crack a smile from time to time and she didn't know why.

Navjeev Fleet Footed Windracer Navjeev wasn’t waiting long with a familiar form bobbed her way through the people of the city as she approached him. His eyes glittered and his smile grew wide as she approached. It had been ages since he had gotten a chance to catch up with her, and he was super excited to get a few moments today.
“Kat!” He exclaimed, as his huge form bumbled forward to greet her with a friendly nuzzle. “Oh man I’ve been doing great! I hope I didn’t catch you at a bad time. I believe I have something else to do tomorrow but I’m pretty free the rest of the day and just had to see you.”
As per his norms, Navjeev wasn’t just fast at moving, he was fast at talking, too, and today was no exception as the words bubbled from his mouth. “Oh man if you got something to do, I could maybe tag along?” He had noticed her bags and wanted to make sure she wasn’t busy but that thought slipped almost as soon as he say it, more words busily slipping from his lips.
“I know you haven’t had a whole lot of time but I remember the last time we met up and you gave me some combat lessons to expand upon and I thought you’d find it really cool to see what I just purchased the other day with some spare funds!”
As Navjeev opened his pack with his teke, he hastily pulled out the items in question, and his hooves danced in excitement on the stone road. The teke, the same color as his grey green eyes, glowed around a dagger and some sling bullets. His grin grew wider when he pulled them out for her. He was like a colt around his cousin, she was someone he looked up to and always was like a best friend and an even better older sister than his real sisters. Not that he didn’t like his real sisters, he loved them, but Kat always made him feel special, even if she was super busy all the time.
He found it funny that he was nearly half her age and yet when they were together it didn’t seem to matter. She didn’t treat him too often like an immature child like other’s sometimes did, and they had a good respect for each other. The only negatives he ever saw in their relationship was the smidge of jealousy over the fact she could fly.

As soon as Kat had greeted him, he was in a flurry of words and motion, bringing forth a chuckle from her. He was more excited than usual, going on about the training sessions from the last time they met.
She was glad he remembered those, as teaching others fighting skills was one of her strong suites besides actually fighting. It took less than a heartbeat for him to change the subject, switching to how was she, to what was she doing, if he could tag along, to now showing off something new he got.
How did so many thoughts go through his head like lightning? she wondered, stifling a small laugh. It didn't take long for him to whip out some of his new equipment, a nice looking dagger and some sling bullets, fresh from the forge.
She looked up into his face (as he was much taller than her) and saw his goofy childish grin, knowing he had just been waiting to show her these. Kat smiled back, "Well look what you have here! Have you tested them out yet? If not, we can go to the Warder training grounds if you want to give them a go."
She'd have to get her groceries on the way back then. If she got them now, they would be lost in his excitement, and she didn't want to waste good food after all.

Navjeev Fleet Footed Windracer He had paused to let her speak, and he had to take a few breaths himself. His eyes somehow grew even wider at her words and he almost squealed. “Ahh no I haven’t have a chance to try them out yet, I didn’t know you could bring me to the Warden training grounds!!”
He looked around, getting ready to head off, looking for an opening. “Well come on then, what are you waiting for?” He looked back at her, asking with more than just his voice, but his eyes and body language too. He had a hard time slowing down for others, but Kat he made an exception for. There was something about her that made him slow down and smell the roses so to speak, instead of being halfway there already. The two of them had good effects on each other, it balanced them out.
Their family was funny that way, there was a group of cousins across the family that were like that with each other, Kat and Nav being two of the usually group of 5. As it was, all their jobs kept them busy and all over the place, so it was hard to ever find them together. Maybe someday but today was not that day. When there was an opening on the street, Navjeev stepped out into it, using his bulk to take up a large area, leaving plenty of space for his winged cousin to step in beside him. “After you.” He said, trying to keep a straight face, but the kid like giggles escaped him as he was giddy over going to try out his new weapons with Kat. Ohh how this was so exciting! He always loved hearing stories of her adventures, and his were usually pale in comparison. Maybe someday he’ll have adventures to share too, and learning how to use these weapons was just the tip of the iceberg.
