Rivalry. Mas | Aegaeon
Mas' absence during training did not go unnoticed by his twin, Aegaeon. Frankly, while the remaining twin was glad that his brother was not there, he couldn't help but be slightly irritated by his twin's actions. Aegaeon marched home with full intentions of getting into his brother's space and finding out exactly what happened. Poor Mas.

Aegaeon; Aodh | Chevalier "In War; Victory, Champion. And whatever else may come."
His blood was boiling. What was wrong with his brother? How could he just ditch training like that? What had possessed Mas to skip out on something as important as Chevalier training? Did he not understand the honor and status that came with being a Chevalier? What idiot would pass something as great as that up? What am I thinking? Mas is an idiot, the hippocampus muses to himself as he is all but bolting towards his home. Aegeaon uses his light red teke to wipe off some of the sweat that is sticking to his coat, his irritation only rises at the fact that his brother hadn't gone through the training that was given to him today. But there was this slight tinge of happiness in the pit of his chest that was glad his brother had missed out. Aegaeon, for once, felt as if he had gotten the attention that his brother would have only gotten if Mas was there. (There was also the fact that Aria, their mother, might fuss him out for missing something so important, and if she hadn't, then he would)
He was beyond pissed by the time he reaches his home, already prepared for yelling at his twin. The long walk home had provided enough time for him to think long and hard about what he had to say. "Mas?!" He calls when he enters the home, disguising the anger and irritation in his voice as best as he can- trying not to let on too much to how angry and irritated he is.
He doesn't go searching for him. Aegaeon waits as patiently as he can, trying not to draw too much attention from the others that he shares his home with. Mas better hurry before he does go searching for him- if Aegaeon caught him at a moment where no other soul was watching... He doesn't dwell on it too long; knowing all too well that it would just cause his anger and stress to rise more than it already was.
I can't believe I'm related to him.

He hadnt gone to training. He hadnt told Amatus, he hadnt told his twin brother, he hadnt even told their trainer. He had just.. decided to give up. The life of a Chevalier was not one for him. While he enjoyed learning how to use a sword, he struggled to keep up with the others. His gimpy hoof caused him to stumble. The others were far stronger and more experienced than him, and really.. his heart wasnt in it.
That same heart leapt into his chest when he heard the door slam open and his name shouted against the room. That voice belonged to none other than his twin, Aegaeon. Gritting his teeth, the colt froze in his steps, ears flicked back as he listened for the other boy's hoof steps. He considered fleeing - Mas was awfully good at that these days - but he knew he couldnt avoid his brother forever. They did have that weird.. twin connection anyways. He could probably sense where he was.
Letting out a huff, he turned on his heels, just in time to dodge a younger sibling charging right toward him with no regard for him being in the way. Well excuse me, the colt though with a snort, but couldnt help the smile tugging at his lips. As annoying as they could be at times, he sure did love his family.
Poking his head around the corner first, he looked to his brother to assess his mood first before he decided if he really wanted to show himself. Oh, he looks mad.
Well, again, he wouldnt be able to hide forever.
"Afternoon, brother." The colt chirped as he slipped from his place behind the wall, his ears pricking forward as he played on innocence, a small smile present on his lips.

Aegeaon; Aodh | Chevalier "In War; Victory, Champion. And whatever else may come."
The hippocampus colt was so close to running amuck through the house. He wasn't a very patient soul and the longer he had to wait for his twin the more his blood began to boil underneath his skin. If it were possible, heat could be felt radiating off of his body from the sheer irritation and annoyance he felt. Aegaeon was more than prepared for any repercussions he might get if he chased his twin around the house. Maybe he could pass it off as just roughhousing with him but knowing his mother, he would regret making such a decision.
But luckily for him, he didn't have to go on a witch hunt through the house. It seemed Mas had finally decided to man up and show himself- Aegaeon snorted, was his brother that afraid of him?
"Hello brother," Aegaeon snapped, his words dripped with venom as his eyebrows go down into a deep furrow. He was not about to fall for that little look of innocence on his face- there were certainly others that could fake it much better than his brother could. Aegaeon was more than certain that his brother was well aware of how irritated he was- that weird twin sense and all, "Playing hookey today?" He snorted out- half tempted to knock him to the ground. Tempted to show his brother exactly what he missed today, but for now, he kept himself as calm as possible.
The hippocampus would have to give his brother credit for actually facing him and not continuing to hide. Maybe Mas knew it would be worse if he hid? Maybe his brother was stronger than he thought? No, not likely.

Mas could feel the tension in the room grow as he stepped out from behind the wall, but he played it cool, as if there was nothing to worry about. His ear twitched as his brother's greeting, feeling the aggression that dripped from his tone. He stumbled slightly, catching his hoof on the floor. Cursing his clubbed hoof under his breath in a whisper, he paused at his twin's following question.
"Uh.. yeah." He replied, shifting his gaze away to avoid eye contact. He was hoping he would be able to slip away and not be noticed, but fate was very rarely on his side. Clearing his throat nervously, he pressed his ears back against his neck.
"Im sure youve noticed that im not as good as the other recruits." He stated bluntly, his brow narrowing as he turned his gaze toward Aegeaon pointedly. He didnt feel as though he had to explain himself, but.. he wanted to. "My hoof causes me trouble, im not as quick as the others, nor am i stronger.."
He couldnt help but feel a pain of guilt as he continued. Guilty because he couldnt live up to his parents expectations. Guilty because he was the weaker sibling to his brother. Guilty because he was giving up.
"Ive decided to quit. I thought it would be a lot less trouble for everyone if i just didnt show up." He paused, biting his tongue. "Just dont tell mom yet, okay?" He didnt like to beg, but he was about ready to drop to his knees and do just that in order to spare himself that disappointed stare from his mother that he seemed to constantly be on the receiving end of.
