The seal bay mare shakes the braid that hangs from her neck, trying to get a few stray hairs to unstick from her face as she trudges through Osulas, the overabundance of equines in this one area was enough to make her squirm but she came here with a mission and was bound and determined to follow it through. Ra needed a few herds and other various things to make some medicine for one of her current patients; something along the lines of an antibiotic, and she frankly could have just bought some to give to them, but she really only trusted the things that she made herself.
She's at the stall in no time and she carefully studying all the herbs and plants that are laid out in front of her, trying to pick about the various colors- her color blindness seemed to plague her wherever she went but she quickly found the ones she needed. She was just about to leave and pay when she heard the sounds of someone speaking; ears swiveling towards the sound and her eyebrows quickly jut up into a curious expression as she tunes into what is being said.
Ra leans over slightly; craning her neck to hear as much as she can, something along the lines of needing something that'll cure an injury. The Saviour's expression of curiosity turns into one of concern as she realizes what is going on; it seemed it was someone who was trying to learn the way of medicines was trying to get across what they were looking for to the trader and of curse they had no idea what the young teenager was trying to say.
"Excuse me," Ra calls, placing down the herbs as she moves over, "Do you need some help?" Glancing to the herbs the trader had tried to give the teenager. Now that certainly wouldn't fix any kind of injury.

S K Y E OF SERORA ......
SKYE glared up to the unforgiving sun, which sent the rays of both heat and blinding light down to the market she was currently walking through. Her hooves clip-clopped against the sandy gravel she strolled on, the sound barely noticeable against the many voices conversing throughout the market space. She forced her heavy head up, avoiding the eyes of the horses around her- teens shouldn't be alone in a market. Even in the safe city of Osulas, Skye knew that she didn't want to be here. The strangers, the judgement, the many salesmen trying to sell their products. Well, Skye was only here for one thing; although, she didn't quite know what she was looking for.
A day ago, a jackalope had been running outside the cave in which Skye resided. Fascinated, the young mare had stopped to stare- the creature whas quick and nimble, hopping along a small stream, until it had caught one of it's long legs on a stone and been flipped into the middle of the water. Although only a foot deep, the creature was injured and up to it's neck in water. Skye's instinct had been to run out and rescue the unfortunate animal, but now she had no clue how to heal it.
The mare stopped at one market stall, looking down at the herbs on display. Overwhelmed, she looked up at the cashier in charge of the booth. She hurriedly explained her situation, receiving many nods and odd glances from the stallion. "I just need an herb to prevent infection," she explained, as the cashier held up the priciest herbs with a grin. Suddenly, she heard a call from a new voice.
"Excuse me," She heard, and her head snapped to attention. "Do you need some help?" A mare asked. Skye sighed in relief, seeing the mare looked at the herbs with a keen eye.
"That would be great, thanks." She replied, knowing she had no clue what she was doing. She explained her situation once again, and asked the mare, "Do you know of any remedies that would help the jackalope?"

Ra pointed a warning glance towards the merchant, displeased and annoyed by the fact that he had tried to give the poor teenager some ridiculously priced herds that wouldn't even fix the problem. With a quick flick of her head, it's apparent that the two no longer need their help. They seem to recognize the seal bay mare, the tattoo on her foreleg was unmistakable, and reluctantly left- irritated that they were not able to convince the teenager to get what they were trying to sell to her.
"Infection," she mused. Glancing around the stall in front of them, trying to pick out the various things that she knew might aid the young teenager in her quest to save the jackalope. Her deep blue teke wraps around several things, plucking them from their stalls in order to separate the ones she knew would help and those that would be no help at all.
She picks up a plant that looks similar enough to a daisy but instead of white petals, purple tones shoot out from the center, "Echinacea," She says, nodding towards the plant, "If the infection is just starting this might be your best choice." She places it down gently in front of the teenager, grimacing at the fact that something that was actually of use was so much more cheaper than what she had almost been given.
"Garlic can also help. The jackalope could certainly eat some," She says, picking some of that up out of one of the stall's baskets, "A good type of antibiotic. Safer than most pills."
She stops mid-sentence, glancing towards the teenager, "Keeping up?" She realized all of this might be hard to keep up with if one was not studying medicine, but the teenager seemed smart enough.

S K Y E OF SERORA ......
SKYE looked towards the mare beside her, a stunned expression spreading across her dappled face. She was suddenly bombarded with information, and although it didn't seem like a lot, and she suddenly found herself yearning for knowledge of the new, unknown plants in front of her. She lowered her eyes to the plants that had yet to be named, and stopped herself from leaning down to inspect each of them closer. Though her thirst for knowledge was strong, her mind pulled her pack to the now-known herbs. A purple flower with a prickly center- now known as Echinacea- stood out to her, and she brought it closer to her face for inspection.
Covered in an electric blue-haze, the purple flower seemed familiar. The scent, the warm colors, and the simplicity of the flower made Skye wonder where she had seen this plant before. She eyed the petals, and suddenly it came to her. "Oh!" she exclaimed, snapping her eyes up to the mare. "I grow these in my windowsill, back at home." In her mind's eye, she remembered the flowers standing just outside her window, and how she must constantly water them in order for their vibrancy to stand out. With a smile, she put the plant back into it's spot in the stall.
Next, she surrounded the clove of garlic with her bright blue haze, lifting it to eye level using her telekinesis. 'I never would have thought to just use garlic,' she thought to herself. What a simple remedy- who knew that everyday items, even foods like garlic, could resolve cuts and scrapes?"I'm Skye, by the way." she said, introducing herself to the mare. She forced her eyes upwards, making eye contact with the adult. She smiled, trying to appear as though she did this everyday- meeting new people.

Her lips turn up into a soft smile at Skye's statement that she had seen those purple flowers before, and Ra let a soft chuckle slip from her lips, "The best things about herbs are, you can grow them at home and won't," She glares daggers at the Trader, "have to go throw the pain of buying them from another." She says, turning her attention back towards the teenager, watching as she studied each thing that Ra had handed to her. There were certainly a lot more she could show her, but it seemed introductions were due.
Her lips turn up into a smile. "Ra," She says, lettings the two letter word fall from her lips, she grins softly at the teenager. Ra was more than ecstatic to see someone so young be interested in the world of medicine and the fact that she was able to help her in her time of need if it could be called that, was something she was proud of.
"Do you need me to go over any others?" She asked, more than happy to help Skye out in any way that she could, "You seem to know a decent amount so far. After all, you didn't take those overpriced herbs," She chuckles. She was more than certain that the teenager had a mentor she was training under, and if not than she must just be fascinated by the world of medicine, "If you're aiming to be a Saviour, you are off to a good start."
Ra could be totally wrong with her statement. She had no idea what Skye was training under but there were very few that took interest in plants if it was not part of their day to day life. "I'm sure your mentor would be proud of what you have done so far," Ra understood how far praise could boost someone's confidence so she easily let the words fall from her lips.
Unless she didn't have a mentor, Ra's lips twist down into a brief look of curiosity and wonder. If that was the case, then she couldn't get much farther in the medicine world. Someone would have to teach her how to tend to wounds, especially those of wounded warriors that don't like sitting still. There was more to this than learning the names of various herbs and their medical properties. Stitching together gaping wounds, removing limbs, helping mothers give birth and sometimes even having to deal with death was something that was part of a Saviour's life.
If she didn't have a mentor... She was certainly going to need one.

S K Y E OF SERORA ......
Skye let out a small breath of air, smiling at Ra's passive aggressive remarks towards the trader. Out of the corner of her eye, Skye could still see him sulking, fiddling with the herbs in the far back- currently, he focused on tending to a black, dark plant, but- was it glowing?
"Well, I'd always be interested in learning more about- uh, everything." she mumbled, a bit off guard from Ra's question. She took a step back nervously, the tips of her ears turning red. She looked back to the mare with a sheepish grin, and replied to her compliment, "I'm not really aiming to be anything quite yet, I guess I just have a lot of free time to learn about these things." She shrugged, worming her way out of a compliment.
However, she stopped for a moment to think. What were her plans for the future? She had been spending so much time reading, so much time just filling up her free time with meaningless chores and activities, that she hadn't really spent much time thinking about the future. She always imagined herself staying put, blending in, and being a part of some nomadic herd; But a savior? A medic, a doctor, a healer? Thinking, Skye could easily picture the savior version of herself in the future- A practiced, knowledgeable version of herself. To the teen, this Skye was unbelievable, but intriguing at the same time.
"Actually, you know, I don't have a mentor. I'm not even that informed on saviors, or practicing medicine!" Skye began to explain, facing the dark bay mare with a new found enthusiasm. "I assume you're experienced in the practice, though, right? Oh, who am I kidding, of course you are." She blushed again, remembering that one of her nervous habits was rambling. But, what if the mare was a Savior? What if Skye could build a future for herself in medicine?

Ra listens intently to Skye's words, chuckling softly at her ramblings and how excited she seemed to get over these things. The teenager seemed certainly more than eager to learn and that made Ra's soul happy- it was nice to see some of the younger generations were still taking joy in learning new things, even though Ra wasn't much older than the teenager she was speaking too. Ra assumed that she was a couple of years older than Skye, but that was beside the point.
Ra laughs, her voice is light and cheerful as she glances down at the teenager, "Of course. They don't let you be a Saviour without having some basic knowledge," She chuckles, lips turning up into a warm smile as she shakes her head- trying to remove some of the sweat from her body and trying to get strands of her braid to unstick to her.
"Well you should certainly consider being a Saviour," Ra quickly tacks on, hoping that maybe she can say another in the direction of tending to others. Skye certainly already seemed to have a caring soul that was just perfect for this line of work, "It shouldn't be too hard. You already cared so much for the jackalope, there's not much difference between how you care for them to how you would a patient.
"But you would need a mentor to teach you to workings of medic and how to patch wounds. It takes a strong stomach and all of that," She grins widely at her. The older mare would be more than happy to aid her if she asked, but she wasn't going to push anything onto the younger of the two. There was so much that she would need to be taught if she chose to go down this line of work, and even if she didn't ask Ra such a thing, the Saviour would be more than happy to help any way she can.
