Oh no, she did it again. She promised herself she wouldn’t let this happen again, but here she was. The streets of Valore were oddly quiet and serene once you got away from the hustle of all the party goers. Amora should have been home by now. Hell, she should have been home hours ago. Now, as she walks through the emptying streets of Valore, shadows nip at her heels. She glance behind her every so often, just to make sure there was no one following her. She hated being out past dark, let alone on her own like this. If only the errands she was running for Leila hadn’t taken so long. Well, it wasn’t as if she was in any position to hurry anyone along. She was forced to wait, and now she was forced to traverse Valore in the dark. All she could hear was her own steps and laughing in the distance. If she had any sort of luck, the laughing would stay in the distance. Much to her dismay, her luck seemed to have all dried up after Leila purchased her. The laughing drew near.
Amora kept her head low. She could only help whoever was coming ignored her. It was the only thing she feared more than the dark, talking to strangers. The laughing and chatter grew louder. Amora bit her lip, picking up the pace just a bit. Just as she was rounding the corner, she ran straight into another horse, literally. She rammed her head into the horse’s chest, nearly falling back on her rump. “I’m t-terribly s-sorry.” she murmured. “I’ll, I’ll get out of your w-way.” But the horses standing in front of her had other ideas. When she moved to step around them, they blocked her path once more. “Why would we want that?” one purred far too close for comfort. To be fair, five feet away was too close for Amora’s comfort, but this was ridiculous. Amora refused to lift her gaze, lest she lose whatever courage she did have. “What’s the big hurry?” another sang. “Are we bad company?” he continued. Amora swallowed, inching back the way she came. “I d-don’t think so, it’s j-just that-” she began, but couldn’t finish. The laughing picked up again. Oh no. she thought to herself. What did I get myself into?
