Soda: Soda opened her front door, ready for another day in the life. As she stepped forward, she felt something crunch underneath one of her hooves, and looked down. An unmarked envelope, now with a dusty hoof-mark on it, lay on the ground. Curious, the blue roan picked it up with her telekinetic magic, a pale yellow aura holding it in front of her face. She opened the envelope carefully, finding an invitation within. Its contents spoke of some sort of test for the attendees to complete. For those who passed the test, only great things would come of it. To Soda, this sounded like quite a fun adventure, and was determined to pass whatever test they had in store for her. Her destination was a park near the New Generation’s Higher Education school, and she casually walked there, pondering who could have been behind the invitation. Though she was thrilled to get a mysterious invitation, she couldn’t shake the thought of it being something possibly sinister, seeing as it was from an anonymous source. What kind of test was this going to be exactly? When the mare arrived at the park, she couldn’t seem to see anyone else there, and figured she might be earlier than she expected to be. While she waited for whoever was behind the invitation, she wandered about, staying in sight of the meeting place. Post #1|Word Count: 229

Amity | Breim | MakerAmity had been struggling to sleep for many nights now, the only way she was able to doze off into fitful sleep once she smoked herself out. Even so, that sleep was barely restful because it was so light. Which is why she stirred from her nap when she heard something like a rustle outside her front door. She lay there in bed for a few minutes deciding whether to just pick up a book and read until she passed out again or to get up and check out what the noise was. Kili, her owl, flew from his perch to her neck and began picking at her forelock with his beak and chirping until she got to her hooves.
"Alright, alright Kili. I'm up. I'll go check it out." yawned the chimera mare as she shook her mane and headed towards her front door. Out on the stoop she saw no early morning guest to greet her, nor a package from any Echoes or supplies of gems and glass from her providers. Not even anything from her sources outside the caves. Just a simple, unaddressed envelope. Completely blank. It peaked her curiosity so she gently ripped it open with her teke on her way back inside her home to make a morning tea to boost her energy. She read as the tea steeped. The letter invited her to attend some sort of special event, one of which contains some series of tests that could be potentially rewarding. Sounds like fun...I might meet some new equines. Maybe it's actually a secret meeting of some sort for those who want to change Breim! Either way I had better get going. she thought to herself as she downed her tea and donned her cloak, the letter tucked safely in a pocket on the inside.
"Come on, Kili! We're headed to a special event at the park by the University for an event!" she called to the whiskered screech who took up perch on her withers. It wasn't too too long of a walk to get there, even more so because she went along at a nicely paced trot. During the trip she kept in the back of her mind the thought that this could be a trap or something dangerous, a main reason why Kili was going with her (he could go fly for help if need be) and she would have to keep a close eye on the thoughts of those around her. This thought comforted her as she entered the clearing to see another mare, an Echo she had seen before but hadn't gotten to know that well. She nodded her head in respectful greeting and smiled.
"Hello there. By any chance are you here on account of an unmarked letter?" She saw no one else around yet so this mare must've been here for a purpose...and her thoughts were buzzing with something about tests and being early for something. Amity didn't really like to pry, but it was necessary in these troubled times to keep herself safe.

"A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials."
~Lucius Annaeus Seneca ✦ “Alright Gemstone, you can take a break now. I think you’ve done enough sweeping for now.” Alba had looked to her Granddaughter from behind the counter of the main room, her white teke glowing around a scroll and a quill. Gemstone grinned and she hurriedly put her broom and dustpan in a nearby closet.
“Can I go out to the Market?” The girl asked when she shut the door.
“Of course. Don’t forget your cloak and be careful!” Alba called, the filly already tearing on her cloak and bounding out the door. She shook her head, smiling, before going back to work.
Gemstone on the other hoof, had only made it a few feet after the door closed behind her when something knocked against her hoof. She had paused and turned to look what she had kicked, noting that it was letter of some sort. Emerald green teke surrounded the envelope and she lifted it to look it over. It was sealed, and there was no indication who it could be for except for the fact it was against their door. Seeing as it did not have her grandmother's name on it, she figured it would be alright for her to open it.
When she opened it, she began to read. Her emerald eyes scanned the words, her eyes widening as she went on. She wasn’t sure if this was some joke or something, but it did sound fun, whatever it was. A Test? Hmm. She considered going back inside to ask her Grandmother, but the old donkey was so busy from a recent rush of patrons...it couldn’t hurt to just go check it out, right?
Without another thought, the zonkey filly followed the directions to the meeting place, a park near the Higher Education School. She had never been to the School before, but it got her thinking. Perhaps the person who invited her was a teacher or student who attended the school? Or maybe the school was just unrelated altogether. It was interesting to think about.
She quickly made her way to the park and was pleased, if not a little nervous, to find there were two others there already. As she drew near, the filly perked her large ears to catch whatever they were saying. It seemed the black and grey mare had just gotten there. Gathering up her courage, she put a smile on her face and trotted closer.
“I am! I got the letter too!” She halted a few feet away from both mares, issuing a usual greeting. Forehoof clapped twice against the ground before “They have seen us meet, I’m Gemstone!” with a big grin on her face.

Aiko || Echo A test...that's what the letter had been going on about. The mysterious, unmarked, letter that had been sitting on her and Osamu's front doorstep that morning. Of course most rational equine would think to be cautious of such a calling but Aiko was never one to back away from a challenge. Besides, her plans for today were boring, so at least this gave her something more entertaining to do. She arrived at the park quickly enough, glancing around as she suddenly realized she had no idea who --or what-- she should be meeting up with...When another mare called out asking if others had received a letter, Aiko's ears perked up as she trotted towards the chimera who had spoken. They flattened slightly, however, as a young filly bounded up proclaiming that she had gotten a letter as well. If whatever this test was could be completed by child and adult alike then what was it exactly?
"Aiko." She stated as way of introduction before speaking what was on her mind, "Does anyone know who we are supposed to be meeting? If this is a joke I'm gonna be pissed."

Amity | Breim | Maker
Amity's mind was still running wild but for the time being she focused on the thoughts of the others, one at a time. A young filly came trotting into the clearing, which surprised the Maker mare. This definitely must not be school related, for this child was far too young to pass a test of this caliber, she must have barely finished early grade school at this point! This confused Amity greatly, causing her ears to flick backwards in nervousness. Maybe this meeting is more sinister than I had originally thought...I hope this isn't a trap. I've dealt with enough of bad fortune lately from this herd and it's safety protocol, I can only be so strong for so long before something needs to change. The next equine to reveal themselves was slightly older than the filly named Gemstone that came in next stated her name to be Aiko. Amity nodded in greeting to the three others gathered near her and murmured, "Hello to you. My name is Amity. It's a pleasure to meet you." Her head then turned so her scarlet eyes rested on Aiko, interested in her question. "No...my letter didn't mention meeting anyone, just to come here and that there would be a test those who pass will benefit from." Amity then bit her lip. "I doubt this is a joke...no one has time to put something like this together just for fun anymore."

Soda
The blue roan mare hadn't been meandering very long before another mare approached her, speaking of the same letter she had received. She turned, about to greet the other, when a zonkey interjected, speaking of receiving her own invitation to this peculiar place. What was someone so young doing here? And to be participating in a test? That seems almost irresponsible of the mysterious host. Her tail twitched apprehensively.
She greeted the two, quietly, more reserved while another joined their small party, her fiery attitude catching Soda slightly off guard. While watching their interactions, and passing along her own name with a "Oh, I'm Soda" she also peered around the park, wondering just how many of them had been invited to a test.
"What kind of test do you suppose they--whomever 'they' are--will be giving us? Something written? Seems unlikely since we're outside," Soda asked the group, turning back to them as they chattered among themselves. She still felt the small creeping of dread along her spine, but tried to suppress it, hoping this was something to help cheer up those of Breim in this less than ideal time.

Aiko || Echo Aiko's ears flicked towards the blue roan as the other mare spoke her own name and she offered the obviously shy equine a lopsided grin, nodding to her words. "Yeah...makes sense." Aiko huffed to both Soda and Amity's statements, her expression morphing into something like a pout as she glanced around again. All of this was just too weird. Normally weird was perfectly cool with her, she could deal with normal weird --as little sense as that makes-- but this? This was an eerie sort of weird. It sent suspicion crawling up her spine. "I'm starting to have a bad feeling about this..." She muttered to the group, shifting her weight restlessly, "Why just us? And why us in particular?" She wasn't sure about the others, but Aiko herself knew she wasn't particularly well known in Sterling, having recently moved in with her brother she hadn't the chance to establish herself or her work. She also couldn't help but wonder about the child. Gemstone, the zebroid had called herself. She couldn't be anything more than an uncut. So what was this for? Were they waiting for a dramatic entrance, or was something more sinister about to happen?

It seemed otherworldly, to follow a mere note with no real signature and no real indication of who or what it could be from. Strange to base your time around mere scribbles on a single piece of paper. Yet here they were, gathered together. Unlikely equines ranging in age, height, and stature, gathered because of a piece of paper. Something so trivial... As the group gathered closer together it was easy to see those who had answered the 'call'. The question now was, were they going to work together or try to rise above one another? That was the true question here. The brush around them rustled, its leaves twitching as something passed through them. One might assume the worst, the unknown creeping toward them; closer and closer. That is until the growth parted to reveal a large ginger tabby cat, its bright green eyes intent on the group before him. A red envelope dangled from the feline's neck waiting for the first of the guests to pluck it from the string. The paper itself was exactly the same as the kind they had received earlier and the lettering identical: the next puzzle piece. Lifting the flap the guest pulled the smooth parchment from its binding, smoothing the creases enough to read the note out loud. "Fellow Participants,
Welcome to your first test. Within the school behind you lays a banner, a piece of red fabric lined with gold. Thread hangs from its middle as if something was torn from the finely woven silk. Your goal: to be the first to retrieve the item and bring in back to your meeting place. Good luck, and don't get caught. The school sits seemingly empty today yet could there be others inside? The only way to find out is to investigate. You have free reign to explore the school as you feel possible. Once everyone posts again we will post once more with the location of the actual item within the school and then you may post however you want.

"A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials."
~Lucius Annaeus Seneca ✦ Gemstone herself was curious as to why she was called alongside these other horses. None of them were her age. They all stood taller, older, and they were most definitely smarter than her. But one thing is for certain, while they seemed suspicious and anxious, she felt excited and pumped. While the others talked, she took in her surroundings. The school was massive, the park in which they stood dwarfed by the building. She wondered if they would be going inside, or if their test would occur where they stood. Perhaps even coming at all was the test. Wouldn’t that be a kicker. She smiled to herself, stifling a giggle as to not make the others think she was odd...which was probably already running through their minds considering she was the youngest participant.
Something within the park stirred, so large ears swiveled and the child looked around. Her eyes fell upon some foliage that moved, something, or someone, was coming closer. Now she was feeling some anxiety. Taking a step back, the girl hoped that if whatever it was was dangerous, she wouldn’t have to fight it off herself. Her magic wasn’t quite at that level yet.
But low and behold, a large cat pushed through. Whew! Definitely not dangerous! Immediately, and without holding back, Gemstone uttered an ‘aww’ and gingerly moved closer to the feline.
“Hi kitty...” The child cooed, her eyes widening when they fell upon the envelope.
“Hey guys, this kitty has a letter around its neck.” She turned to look back at the others. She herself didn’t exactly want to just yank the letter from the cats person, so she hoped someone else would do it instead. “Maybe this kitty was who we were supposed to meet?”

Amity | Breim | Maker Amity's dread, like Aiko's, too began to grow. She shuffled her hooves in discomfort and knit her eyebrows as she attempted to think up a rational response to all of this mystery and shadiness. Until the rustle of leaves and brush nearby brought the mare out of her thoughts and caused her ears to perk forward. Kili on her withers hooted with discomfort and clung tighter to the end of her mane as a friendly looking feline came out from the bushes. She wasn't the biggest fan of cats, their eyes made her uneasy...like they could stare straight through her and pass judgement on what they saw inside. However this cat looked huggable and kind with it's warm orange fur and its...letter on its collar? After Gemstone's exclamation she nodded her head, for maybe the child was right. Gently she loosened the letter from the cat and opened it. With her voice audible enough for the rest of the small group to hear, she read the letter out loud. Once finished, she lowered it and focused her attention on the group once more.
"I'm going to be honest, this sounds a bit suspicious. 'Don't get caught' isn't something that sounds very safe. There doesn't seem to be anyone else around the school today, and if someone wanted to do us harm the easiest way to do that is to get us to split up. But if you're as curious as I am about this, we should still try and find it. Maybe as a group if that's alright with you all. If you would rather go our separate ways I suppose that would work too. I'll keep an ear out for you all if something happens." concluded the chimera mare, her eyes flicking between each of the mares, filly and the cat. Her blonde tail swished back and forth anxiously and she adjusted her cloak as a shiver ran through her entire body.

Soda The chatter died down as the filly, Gemstone, announced the arrival of an orange tabby with a letter around its neck. Another mare, Amity, retrieved the letter from the feline, reading aloud the contents; a foreboding message about a missing item in an empty school. Soda perked her ears to Amity's words, keenly listening to her explanation for staying as a group. Briefly, she thought about what lie ahead, and the dark words of 'don't get caught' echoed in her mind. What is there to be caught by? she thought to herself before shaking the thoughts away, focusing on the small group surrounding her. "Well, maybe we should split into two groups? We'd cover more ground, and we could use the owl," she said, gesturing to Kili, "to signal each other if we found something or if we're in trouble. If that isn't too much to ask," Soda added, looking to Amity for approval, and the others, to see if they agreed with her idea as well. If they didn't, and they decided to go their separate ways, she settle for that. It's not like she could forcibly make them change their minds about it anyways. Her breath stuck in her lungs as she waited for their answers. Post #3||209 Words

Aiko || Echo Aiko couldn't help but grin at the cat that approached them. As tough as she liked to act, cats were cute, and that was a fact. Her ears pricked at Gemstone's words, and she moved closer to Amity to hear the chimera mare read the letter aloud to the group. At it's conclusion, Aiko tilted her head, this did sound suspicious...yet intriguing and the pale mare knew it would drive her crazy wondering what it all meant if she didn't follow through with the instructions. She nodded her head at Amity once before picking up with speaking her own mind about the matter. "I'm down for a stealth-mode wild goose chase through the school, if you are. Though, I agree that we should stay as a group." She glanced around at the others, then chuckled with a smirk "After all, if we are all the first to bring this banner back then we all pass the test right?" 'or we all fail it', she thought in the back of her mind, but she figures she'd rather fail with everyone on her side than fail with the group turned against each other.

"A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials."
~Lucius Annaeus Seneca ✦ Gemstone frowned when Amity started talking. What was it with adults and thinking everything was suspicious? The filly wanted to make her stance known, but the others were much quicker than she was in regards to getting her point across. So the zebroid child simply stood there and listened to their opinions.
Amity was definitely right about it being curious. What were they supposed to find and who did they have to avoid? While it could seem dangerous, Gemstone figured that was simply part of the test. Like a game of hide and seek. If they got caught, they lost the test. And since they were specifically told not to get caught, that had to mean that someone was definitely out there looking for them.
Excitement flooded her limbs and she had to restrain herself from shuffling about. Another thing Amity was right about was staying together. Even though that made their profiles more obvious, if she was right that this was dangerous, there was safety in numbers.
Soda caught Gemstones attention next, the appaloosa suggestion two groups. The girl thought that would be feasible as well, since they would still be in a group setting. And to have an owl act as communication did seem pretty cool!
But Aiko was definitely the one Gemstone agreed with the most. Not only did the unicorn have that adventurous air about her, but she brought up a great point about staying as a single group; they’d all win together.
“I agree with Aiko!” Gemstone grinned, looking to the buckskin. “That might be the meaning of this test! To see if we can all work together to get to the end!” She looked to the cat, then back at the group. “It would have been easier if we were all the same age right? So since we are all so different, that’s gotta be part of the test.” You’re so smart Gemstone!, the filly thought to herself as she shifted her weight from one side to the other, literally dancing from excitement. “Let’s do it!”

Hello everyone! I finally was able to get here. I'm so sorry for my late reply. - .//His gaze trailed from his doorstep to the letter, letting out a sarcastic laugh and slamming his hoof down onto the paper. ``What in Cascade's name is a letter doing at /my/ doorstep? Nobody knows who I am and they don't care. Psh.`` Slowly lifting his hoof, his brows arched slightly with interest. ``..Meh.`` He sighed, grasping the edges with his teeth and taking it in slowly. With a small scrunched face of annoyance, he threw the letter to the side once more; watching it fall like a feather. ``No reasoning.. no actual leader at hand. This is stupid.. why am I considering it?`` The small whisper escaped his lips, hooves causing slight marks into his table. His gaze closed slowly, scrunching once more as he finally would turn with a snort. ``I might as well get some fresh air.. Why else would this end up at /my/ door? Nobody knows me, nobody..`` Sadness filled his gaze, sighing under his breath as he would step through the doorway, his neck low.
Absolute nuisance, nuisance. A puny letter? Of something of invitation, but no real reason? It tore him between the right and wrong; but he couldn't help the urge to strike the moment. Sticking in the library at a constant pace was exhausting, truly. Fresh air would do good. The small donkey would slowly tilt his head to the side, his nostrils flaring as his hooves hit the ground with a silent thump. His tail would slowly move to the strength of the wind; his pink gaze blazing slightly as impatience would grow. Pushing through with silence, he finally would appear through the bushes as the other horses gathered forth; seemingly, he was late. He already would set his gaze upon the large feline of orange hues, his nostrils flaring once more with caution. A large feline joined as well? Or perhaps did this cat have the brains to actually set this entire situation up? He snorted, slamming his hooves down to gather attention. If successful, his gaze would flare as his chest would rise and fall defiantly. ``It seems as though I'm quite late.. may someone fill me up on what I missed?`` He inquired, shaking his body softly as he rubbed his nose against his leg to cease the itch. ``This better be worthy of time, because I could be doing better..``

~Lucius Annaeus Seneca ✦ Perhaps they were about to leave. Gemstone was certain that they were headed that way. Together at the very least. But the knocking of hoof against stone caught her attention and, at first, she thought it was one of those before her. But seeing all legs grounded, she turned and looked to see a small being, not unlike herself, looking in the direction of the group.
Another pleasant smile flitted across her lips as the young male spoke up, declaring that was late to the gathering. And like the others, he didn’t seem too intent on it. But the girl, the bright ray of sunshine that she was, trotted over with her head held high. A couple of claps of her hoof against the ground signified the beginning of her usual greeting.
“They have seen us meet!” The filly stated cheerfully, rather excited to have not only a male join their...sorority, but a youth not unlike herself! “We just got a letter from this cat here.” Gemstone indicated the ginger feline with a quick glance in its direction. “We were told that we have to enter the school, and within lies a red banner etched in gold. Something was torn from it and we gotta find what it is and bring it back here.” The girl clapped the ground again to make her point. “We also can’t get caught. And I think we decided we were all going to stay together...right?” She turned to look back at the older females, glittering emerald eyes wide with questioning intensity.

Amity | Breim | Maker
Amity's heart beat faster as the decision was being made whether to split into two groups. She had voiced her opinion of what they should do, so she listened respectfully to the others as they gave their peace. Soda suggested splitting into two groups and using Kili to communicate, which could work, but only if one equine in each group was a Familiar Whisperer, which she wasn't sure anyone was. She herself definitely wasn't. However, Aiko and Gemstone agreed to stay together in one group, which was a comfort to the small mare. She was an avid believer of safety in numbers. Her shoulder scar twinged with pain as she remembered the Kirin names Reyes falling into her and scraping her with his antler. If only there had been more of them in that party, maybe a capable Guard or two, it might not have happened. She didn't let that thought plague her mind very long though, it was in the past. All she could do was learn from it and make sure it didn't happen again.
As she was listening a new little voice sounded in her head, another young one. This one a little colt. For such a young being, he seemed very bitter and less excitable. Amity sighed softly and tipped her ears forward as he spoke, but snorted at his rudeness and shook her mane. Gemstone explained what was going on to catch him up as Amity turned towards the entrance to the school.
"Yes, Gemstone is correct. Let's go." murmured the Maker as she lead the party into the school. Once inside, her voice quieted to a whisper. Quiet, but loud enough for her party to hear if they were close. "Alright, let's all stick together and find this as soon as we can, ok? I'm Blessed with Telepathy, so if anything is wrong I will know and signal all to hide. No matter if it's the smallest shadow or sound."

As the group enters the school, silence is all that surrounds you. Each hoof beat echos extremely loud against the walls, bouncing towards the end as if guiding you multiple ways. The breathing of your fellow equines seems louder in your ears then normal giving you a sense of unease. Why was it so quiet? Even on an off day, the school should at least be filled with equines cleaning and organizing. But there wasn't a single soul from what you can sense.
As you round corners and continue down new hallways you fear you will never find this object. At least, where would a banner be hung anyways? To your relief as you open the doors to the cafeteria, in the center of the room, hung under a large arch rests the red fabric with gold trim. To the trained eye you can see that there are threads clinging to the center. This must be the item the letter asked you to find! But...
How to get it down?
(The banner hangs from two strings on each top corner in the center of the cafe. It's in the middle of the large domed ceiling and sits about 15-20' above your heads. Good luck!)

Soda: The roan mare shivered as she entered the school's hallways, hearing nothing but the echoing of her parties hoofsteps as they wandered down hallway after hallway. She had stayed silent at the conclusion to stay as one big group, not bothered by what was done, just more internally curious if it would be beneficial to go at it alone, as the end prize may only be made for one horse. Though the words of Gemstone seemed sensible, that having such a variety of different ages would usually make it harder to work as a team, resulting in splitting apart. So, in the end, she silently agreed to remain with the large group, hoping this truly was the smarter choice, and nothing would be able to catch them, or at least all of them. Their travels led them to the dining hall, and once the doors were swung open, it became very obvious that this was the first destination, as the banner iterated in the letter hung high above their heads, red with gold trim, strung in an archway. Soda turned back to the rest of the party, smiling slightly in relief. "How do you guys propose we get this down? We could try seeing if Kili would be able to knock it down? Unless one of you has something that could cut it down?" she asked, peering at those around her. "Or maybe one of you has a better idea?"Post #4||240 Words

"A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials."
~Lucius Annaeus Seneca ✦ And so they were going. Amity had turned and led the way, which prompted Gemstone to follow the female closely. Being the smallest of the group, she didn’t want to get left behind or make them slow their pace, so the girl walked as quickly and quietly as she could to keep up. The zonkey found herself impressed at the mention of Amity’s blessing. Argus must have seen something very special in the mare, and Gemstone made a mental note to ask all about it when they were done with their mission. There were many days when the girl would contemplate making the pilgrimage to the Temple of Arcane in hopes of impressing the god and earning a blessing herself.
Someday.
Now wasn’t the time to worry about that though, for as soon as the group entered the school, the eerie absence of sound permeated the world around them. It was hard not to jump at the sounds of many hoof beats echoing around them, even though all the sound that was created came from the group. And it wasn’t just the sounds of hooves hitting the ground that could be heard by the filly. But the sound of air flowing through the nostrils and teeth of her companions. Under normal circumstances, the situation would have just annoyed her and she would have started singing or something to counteract the deafening sound of silence. Yet in this situation, she most certainly could not. They were explicitly told not to get caught, and even though the loudness of their walking and breathing would most definitely get them captured, she was very sure that simply singing would attract even more unwanted attention.
She wasn’t sure how long they had been walking, but she did notice how close she had gotten to Amity while they walked. The mare was most certainly a leader, with her blessing and by having the confidence to simply lead them on, it gave the filly a sense of comfort in their uneasy position. They went through many doorways, traversed numerous halls, passed through various rooms.
And yet, there was no banner.
Gemstone was certain that they were going to get lost. They had all been looking skyward, at least, she had been, and she had not been keeping track of which way they were going. She hoped someone else did.
They came upon another set of doors, and upon pushing them open they happened upon the cafeteria. It wasn’t just the set up that gave it away to Gemstone, but the lingering scent of food in the air. Her stomach gave a little rumble, and she shook herself to protest the feeling. They had a goal. She glanced up, and gasped at the sight of the very thing they were looking for; the banner! There it was, high above their heads, strung within an archway. Before she could even discern how they could possibly get it down, Soda had begun talking.
Looking to the roan mare, Gemstone grinned. “I think that's a great idea! We can all keep watch and you and Kili can work on getting the banner down!” She looked to the others. “What do you guys think?”

Amity | Breim | Maker Amity's heartbeat thundered in her ears as she led the small group of equines through the school. It was so eerily quiet, and not a soul was to be seen. She reached out with her Blessing to see if she could hear any thoughts nearby, but no no avail. They were the only ones in the area...the only ones who could be reached by the magic of her Blessing that is. As they traveled through the corridors, the little mare began swishing her blonde tail nervously, thoughts of a dangerous Kirin sent by Ignacio with Holy Magic Suppression as their Blessing plaguing her mind. No she thought to herself sternly You will not scare yourself like this. You have to stay strong. For the group. You're a Maker after all, a head of an era. She gazed down at Gemstone who was stuck close to her side and although she had little experience with young ones, she couldn't help but offer a smile and nudge her neck comfortingly with her nose.
The group rounded a corner and entered what seemed to be the cafeteria judging by the seating arrangements and area to pick up and purchase food. The banner wasn't too hard to spot, especially with the loud red and gold colors of its fabric. But it was quite out of reach of any one of their tekes or hooves. If only one of us had wings..thought the Maker to herself as she bit her lip. Not two seconds after the thought crossed her mind that Soda came up with the idea that Kili attempt to retrieve it. He did have wings after all, and his talons were of course sharp enough to cut through the strings holding it there. Amity grinned and nodded at the party and exclaimed still quietly in case someone was around to hear, "Kili can get through the string, but we'll have to catch it when it falls because he's too small to carry it even for the short distance down to us. We can all carry it back together!"
Without further hesitation, Amity gave Kili the command to retrieve the banner, or do what he could to get it down. The red eyed owl made no sound as his wings carried him up above their heads, which Amity was relieved to hear. Just in case someone was around who shouldn't be. His sharp talons made quick work of the string, and the banner came floating down onto the backs of the group. Kili returned to Amity's shoulder as she adjusted the banner on all of their backs so everyone was carrying it, her bright red eyes glittering. "We're almost finished, now all we have to do is get out of here unseen!" she whispered to the group.
Together, she led the group in stride to the exit of the cafeteria and with hope, the building itself to bring them back into the park. Amity was excited, but still nervous about the outcome of the task...what would all of them get from this? A few shards, a new accessory, or a death sentence..?

Bonbon raised a single brow of pure irritation of Gemstone's excitement upon the matter - while the others simply would seem to be silent. The donkey's large ears swayed to the side as he gazed silently at the large feline from afar, fluttering his lips and turning back to Gemstone. ``None of you find this peculiar in any sorts?`` One hoof raised to point directly at the feline with caution glittering in his pink gaze. ``To be sent upon a mission with no further explanation? This seems like a trap, from the moment I read the first portion of my letter ; unease filled my head like boulders crushing me. But we seem to have some strong mares here, do we not? I have faith this will go.. well, in terms. As long as we are cautious about it.`` His tail swayed as he gazed momentarily at each equine infront of him - some seem to interest him, some didn't. What told him enough was that he was the only male there. Great, surrounded with mares ; possibly not the worst, it could be much more dramatic - replacing all of them for thousands of them with Gemstone's excitement. The young colt strayed after the group silently, his ears pinned against his head with his gaze constantly darting left to right for any slight moments within the shadows. It was eerie, it was silent - too silent for a school. One place you'd expect atleast two or three horses within, talking or cleaning up messes. Was it abandoned due to this.. /mission/? Did the large feline manage to convince the school to disperse long enough for their plan to take work? Or did the cat simply kill them all? Either one sounded believable in his mind. Aside his straying thoughts, he kept close to the youngest, Gemstone - in fear that the youngster alongside him would be harmed - any youngster reminded him of his own sibling. Perhaps he didn't enjoy any of their company, let alone doing this - but they were his herd, and he would vow to do what he could to protect them - small or not. As they reached the destined area of the banners location - his own interest perked at the scenery. It seemed to be quite beautiful - but he finally looked back and stared at the avian with the beaming red orbs that sent a chill down his spine. It was a beauty.. but it just made him feel.. terrified. The thing was Amity's familiar, right? So it shouldn't do any harm.. Bonbon looked back up at the banner once more - tilting his head to the side as the mares conversed. He simply strayed to the side, staying silent and watching the shadows around. Any slight movement or wisp of shadow would make his ears perk high, muscles tensing as he awaited for something bad to occur - incase he had to protect the females, of course. A lovely young colt - the superhero of them all! Bonbon! No, no no. Oh for Argus' sake, not that. He shook his head, finally looking back as the owl seemed to be able to retrieve the banner. The donkey stepped over to attempt to aide in carrying the banner himself - but it would weigh him down due to his small stature and poor strength. Oh well, he was helping. He simply would let Amity lead him alongside the others to the exit - the fresh air blooming in his face and causing him to take a deep inhale. They seemed to make it quite quickly - but something truly did tell him it was yet to be over. Something.. at the corner of his eye? In the nearest crevice? Where was it? That burning sensation at the back of his neck caused him to stir silently, his head darting from each side with fear - true fear that shined through his pink gaze. It just wasn't right ; to walk into a school that easily and retrieve something that was put under the impression to be guarded, of some sorts - `dont be caught`. Surely someone was watching the banner, then? It just wasn't right. Was he the only one not feeling the excitement coursing through his veins? The reward possible to him and the mares? Bonbon just closed his eyes shut, awaiting for the others to speak of the matter.

✦ Breim | Uncut ✦
"A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials."
~Lucius Annaeus Seneca ✦ Gemstone had decided she really liked this group. Even if some of them were really quite silent, that didn’t bother her at all; perhaps they were just more shy. She felt they worked well as a team and quite frankly, they had gotten over the age gap hurdle without any issues. At least none that she could make out. The only issue she could see at the given moment was Bonbon. The boy seemed distressed, and she figured he had a right to, they all did. This whole situation was strange, though to her exciting. Softly, she pushed her nose against his shoulder.
“It’ll be okay. Argus is always watching and keeping us safe.” She smiled, hoping that was enough to put the male in better spirits.
At the flutter of feathers, she turned to see Kili take flight. She smiled as she looked up to the banner as the wonderful familiar took off to make quick work of the tethers. Before long, the banner had glided down upon them. In a moment of nervousness and instinct, Gemstone used her teke to put a small barrier over herself, just in case the banner was heavier than it appeared. But it settled nicely along the backs of the gathered equines with the help of Amity. At the mare’s proclamation, the filly nodded.
“We made it this far, we can finish no problem.” The girl was confident that with their combined abilities and Amity’s blessing, they would exit the school without seeing hide or hair of anyone else. And without further ado, at Amity’s lead, the group had begun the trek through the school again.
While they were walking, Gemstone thought about how they would get out. She hadn’t been paying attention, sadly, but it seemed the others knew where they were going. The girl had taken position along the outside of the banner, since she could actually carry the end herself. She wouldn’t be helping much if she were in the middle, being so much smaller than the others after all.
“What do you all think was taken from the banner?” The girl suddenly whispered, trying to break the excited silence. “Do you think we will have to go back in and find that piece next?” In all honesty, the girl truly didn’t want to go back in the school. Silence was golden but the silence that permeated through the building was too unnerving. She hoped if they had to continue this scavenger hunt, it would be outside the walls of the school, and without any more threats of capture.
