The palace is abuzz. Hooves move frantically through the halls and rooms, the Help in a downright tizzy. Cutlery clink, bedding rushes by, and brooms clash as the bustle of Palace life seems all the busier in recent days. The young servant, Ming, happens to stop just outside the doors of whispering equines, unable to help but listen in to the whispers. While most of the conversation is lost to the hustle and bustle around her, Ming does happen to pick up tid bits here and there, knowing the Royals are in as much of a tizzy as the seasoned help. Without much else to do but be in the way, the curious equine heads off to find some of the younger help and see if they can make heads or tails of all this noise.
Location: Royal Palace
Time of Day: Mid Morning

Ming glanced around the whispering was endless, at time she could ignore it, like she had done before in another life. But yet at now, she felt some urgency in the words and it made her keen in ont to the whispering making out some words and Ming felt her heart race. Something told her this was wrong, she should know better, but that was the past and she was Ming. Curiously she listened in a bit more and she knew without a doubt something was going on, but as for what? Well she was quite unsure of.
Perhaps the others would know? Yes surely they would know! Ming nodded and snuck off from her little corner so not to make the others aware of her presence so close to their older workers whispering. The last thing Ming needed was trouble and being caught snooping. Her cheeks flustered at the mere thought. Ming turned from the corner and smiled brightly spotting a few equine she had a chance to converse with. “Guys!” she whispered loudly at them. “You all notice something odd going on?” she remarked eyeing about the place as got closer to them. Biting her lower lip nervously, a terrible habit she got from being in Breim. Her missing halter made her want to chew at something and she was out of candy, so her lip had to do.

AkahanaThe Help, Servant (Healer) soft little aching heart
It had been difficult to not notice the hustle and bustle about the palace, with the Help streaming to and from on high alert. It damned well made a unicorn's nerves split even more, which mean that Akahana had been laying low most of the day, concerning herself with simple tasks, mostly related to books. She got away with that somehow, but as the frantic activity continue to grow, her curiosity did spark. And as luck would have it she caught sight of good ol' MingMing heading for a group of equines. Akahana didn't think twice before joining the gathering.
She greeted them all with a small smile and a bow of her head, brow knitted as she caught Ming's question hovering in the air. Waiting on the edge of the group for a little, with her brow heavilly furrowed, Akahana eventually nodded with a small 'yes' in reply.
"Everybody seems to be so... wound up. I can't tell why, though, " she added and shifted her weight nervously, though that was a normal Akahana habbit. "Are visitors expected? "

Rumor Francesco had just been between meetings when he stumbled across a huddled group of other palace staff. They seemed occupied with something, something that was not their work, however. He had spotted Ming turn the corner, seeming almost enthusiastic about whatever it was she had just encountered. As Francesco neared the entourage of horses, he noticed a shift in demeanour from what he had originally anticipated. He did not say anything when he first arrived and stayed closer to the edge of horses, eventually pushing himself a bit closer to see what was going on. He was rarely interested in what the others were discussing, especially since he always didn't have time in between tutoring students. His next student, however, had not shown up to where they arranged to meet and he assumed he just last minute ditched. "Entitled royals," Francesco thought with a sigh.
"Things do feel tense," he agreed, catching fragments of what they were talking about from the back. He moved forward to be able to hear them properly, his curiosity driving him. Things had seemed tense since the kirins had been imprisoned, or at least that's how Francesco had felt, whether he was right or not.

Amalia Breim | The help (maid)
It has been several months since Amalia got hired by the royal family. Most of her tasks consisted of cooking or babysitting the foals, which while most would hate, she loved. She found it an honor to work for royal family, even if it was just dusting the old books. In her free time, she could be found hidden in the royal library, reading the old books found there. Sometimes she would hear some conversations some of the staff or royals were having. While waiting for a cake for the royal foals to bake, she trotted around the palace to explore it a bit more. Even though she was working here, she would often get lost. While exploring, she stumbled on the small group of huddled staff. She wasn’t sure if she was allowed to join the conversation, but curiousity got the better of her so she trotted towards the small group. She greeted everyone with a big smile, she just got bits of the convo, enough to know what’s it about. “ I agree. Even the foals are feeling the tension.”

MingThat was her magic she could still see the sunset even on those darkest days For some reason, she couldn't shake the thrill running through her veins as others whispered about and she smiled brightly as Akahana approached the group asking the same many have asked and Ming nodded along with her. "Im not really sure myself, but everyone is in such a rush. I dont know how many times I've swept the same hall and I can tell you one thing. It's spotless!" she remarked with a sigh, one that may not have known her would think she was complaining, but instead she was teasing and smile was painted brightly on her face.
Attention turned to Francesco as he spoke of things being tense. "Yes I can feel that too. Makes me nervous, but there doesn't seem anything bad happening yet what could everyone be so tense about?" she chewed on her bottom lip a bit, wishing she had a piece of candy to nibble on instead of her lip. Nasty habit Ming had gotten herself into. Amelia added in speaking of how foals even felt it. Well she thought with determination. This was just the push they all needed.
"I think we only have one option! Lets go see what all the commotion is all about!" she remarked with glee. A few equines Ming did not know seemed to shake their head before vanishing from the group. Ming couldn't bare to loss more so she quickly added. "Surely as help we could do our job better if we knew what was going on you know?" she added in. Hoping they all would go for it and that they too were curious and eager to find out what was going on. "What do ya say?"

Rumor Francesco listened to the cheerful voice of Ming, still explaining what was going on that morning. The pessimistic side of him wanted to reply to her with a short "yet" since nothing bad had happened yet. Something could easily be on the way that would warrant such a disturbance. However, he did not want to instil such thoughts into the young maid's mind. It would not be doing much good for anyone. He had been standing there impassively when he felt a tap on his shoulder and a whisper of his name. He turned his head to his right, another member of the help looking up at him. They informed him that the student who was missing-in-action had cancelled at the very last minute. "How awfully convenient," he thought, his mind already racing to all of the possibilities of what he could do with his spare hour now. He didn't expect any suggestions to come from Ming, but that was apparently the case as she spoke about investigating what was going on. "I suppose there are worse ideas," Francesco started, thinking on the idea. His curiosity and desire to know what the heck was going on eventually got him nodding his head in agreement. "I'm in."

Lively...that was how she would describe the sudden buzz of activity that filled the palace. Muttering voices buzzed in Zahara's sensitive ears. She didn't know what was happening and seemed many of the other help were curious to what was happening. She couldn't deny that she wasn't curious herself but at the same time she worried about the amount of work that seemed to show up. Pausing in her strides down the halls she caught site of blurry group of the help. Ears twitching she made her way over to them listening on to see what they were up too. It seemed they wanted to find out what was happening. Giving just how much the others were curious Zahara thought on it. She wanted to know what the fuss was about. "I will come along as well." She spoke up as came closer to the others. Her hazy blue eyes looking to each of the familiar faces. It was a good chance to see what going on among the other help and the Royals.

AkahanaThe Help, Servant (Healer) soft little aching heart
Akahana watched as the cluster of Help shrunk into a small group of five, herself included. Their loss, she thought, staring after a few of the retreating horses, before turning to Ming with a soft smile. Akahana would definitely be joining the little expedition but before that she had something else to take care of.
Ming was biting her lip again, a habit much too common, so from a concealed pocket of her dress, Akahana pulled a small gold-wrapped hard candy and passed it soundlessly to her friend. "Chew on this instead, " she mumbled softly, sure that the sweet treat would help. It always did and she made sure to always carry a few with her, reserved for Ming.
To the other three, Zahara, Amalia and Francesco, she gave a warm smile which still couldn't quite hide her nervous nature. Akahana almost always felt like she expected the world to collapse any minute. "So, where do you all propose we start unraveling this mystery? " she asked softly, adjusting her spectacles with a gentle shimmer of powder pink teke.

MingThat was her magic she could still see the sunset even on those darkest days Ming was overjoyed to see a few wanted to join in on this adventure! Surely they would find it out, perhaps know before everyone else in Breim? Wouldn't that be something Ming mused gently. Though the words of Akahana reached her ears offering her a sweet delight a way to help Ming from chewing on her lip. Ming gave out a sheepish chuckle. "What would I do without you Akahana." she remarked before taking the candy and humming with pure delight. Oh the sweets her true weakness after those if knights in shinning armor of course.
"I heard some commotion down the halls there! I think that would be a good place to start! I'm sure if we stay close to the walls we can snoop about without anyone being the wiser." she chuckled with delight flashing the group a wink. Without a moment to spare, Ming was leading the group down the hall ushering the group forwards with smiles.
Suddenly Ming halts in her step making sure the others pause too as two mares seemed to scamper down the hall carrying fancy fabric, some of which seemed to be embroidered with gold. Ming could feel her eyes drawn to the beautiful fabric and as the two mares passed them by and into a room Ming looked to them with a smile. "That is some gorgeous fabric!" she whispered out to them. "What do you think its for? A new temple being redesigned on the inside?" she asked curiously. Not really carrying much knowledge for what fabric as nice of that would be used for.

Rumor Francesco watched a couple of the others agree to join and wondered if this was really in his best interest. He was able to pick up on Akahana's nervousness, which in turn put him a little on edge for what they were going to do. Though, it seemed Ming was more than ready for their new adventure. She already knew where to start and began to head off in that direction. He followed the rest of the group, his eyes cautiously going over all of the halls to make sure no one would catch on to what they were up to. He definitely did not need to lose his job. "A wedding? What about a coronation?" he said in an almost sarcastic manner. Francesco was certainly no fabric expert and he couldn't say he had any idea why they would need such expensive and intricate fabric. He like the sound of Ming's idea, however, and a part of him hoped that the little mare was correct. "It could be... Wouldn't that be nice," he said softly, his tone changing as he spoke to her directly.

AkahanaThe Help, Servant (Healer) soft little aching heart
Akahana gave a soft little gasp when the mares rushed by with such gorgeous fabric, stealing all of her attention. She had a massive weak spoke for beautiful items, especially the shiny variety, and this fabric glimmered with a touch of golden embroidery. Oh, how wonderful it would look against her own pale coat, and she nodded along with Ming. Yes, gorgeous fabric indeed.
The curious question had her hum thoughtfully while Francesco shared his own ideas, though with an almost sarcastic tone to his words. Akahana chuckled softly, turning to look at him with the slight arch of an eyebrow. "Are weddings and coronations not your cup of tea? " she asked in a teasing tone, then sighed deeply and carried on in a dreamy tone: "I'd prefer a wedding. The garments, the decorations, the food! The music and the dancing.. it would be wonderful! Even just to listen from afar. "
With a small exhale of longing, Akahana was so deep in her dreamy throughs, that she nearly missed as another pair of equines rushed by them, speaking in low hushed and eager voices. If one strained to listen in they might just catch onto an excited exchange regarding a cake being prepared in the kitchen.

Rumor Francesco shook his head in response to Akahana, smiling slightly at her as she went on and on about everything involved in a wedding. "That's exactly why I don't like either of those things," he began to explain. "Wouldn't it be more romantic to get married just the two of you together?" he asked. He meant it rhetorically, though a part of him wondered why others would think differently and would be open to discussing it. His mind wandered for a moment as he imagined what another royal wedding would look like. The event would be more than grand, a great show of opulence and wealth. He found it incredibly unnecessary. His thoughts were interrupted, however, when his ears picked up a conversation coming from behind. Turning his head, two more palace staff were making their way past the group. He barely caught what they were saying, but it was something about a cake in the kitchen. Once they passed, Francesco gave a smug smile and spoke, " Told y'all, it's a wedding. They already have the cake and everything."While the other staff would be working at the wedding and preparing for it, he was one of the few who was not needed. It was definitely not like he had the ability to teach a dance class, so there was no use for his services.

MingThat was her magic she could still see the sunset even on those darkest days A faint flush crept on her face as Akahana spoke of the wedding, and she felt her chest warm at the thought. A wedding? Oh goodness, is that that stuff of fairytales, she thought dreamily. "Oh a wedding would be so much fun, a chance to see love blossom all the more. A way to celebrate with everyone." she sighed with delight and for a moment she seemed lost in her own daydream, that was until a passersby mentioned cake.
Eyes widen, as she felt a low grumble in her stomach. Ming licked her lips faintly and without a word she was suddenly following after the horses hoping to get a look at the cake, though they lead her into the kitchen, they seemed to be in for a second then out. Ming chuckled as she shuffled in, still quite skilled at even in this new place. Creeping in, her eyes found a slice of cake. Gods have mercy she wanted it so bad.
Just a step closer, she thought, allowing herself a closer look, it seemed elegant the slice of cake, surely it was meant to test the flavor to assure it was good. Ming was a taste tester, she knew ingredients and even learned all the Breimian ones as well as she was here. But a cake?! She had never had the joy of having cake. Another stop, she was nearly face to face with this cake. Nostrils flared, by the gods good grace it seemed so sweet so divine. Clearly this was a cake for the gods, and her too right? Right?!
Eyes narrowed down on the slice, she licked her lips again as if she was ready to pounce on the slice of cake.

Amalia The help - Maid
Amalia followed the others as the sneaked around the palace. She stayed alert as she didn't want to get caught so they won't be punished. I mean, it was exciting, but what would they say if they were caught snooping around the castle, i don't think they would be quite happy. She looked at Francesco as he mentioned that it could be a wedding. She smiled softly and dreamed off thinking of how her marriage would look like. It would be quiet and small, in Sterling, with only her family and friends. There would be flowers and of course, a cake. What would a wedding be without a cake? She woke back up from her daydreaming as she saw Ming ready to pounce on a beautiful cake. Is she crazy?! What if they found out a slice of the cake was missing? It was a delicious looking cake but still, it isn't right. She wanted to stop Ming but she also wanted a piece of that damn nice looking cake. She sighed, the cake is worth the punishment. She softly shuffled in, right next to Ming, whispering to her. "You're not going to eat that cake alone right, cause that would be a bummer." She smiled cheekily to her before lifting the slice of cake with her teke before sneaking back out of the kitchen. One small piece wouldn't hurt anyone. Chuckling softly as she returned back to the group. "So, who wants a piece?"

Rumor Francesco found is silly that all of that his company were fawning over the idea of a wedding in the palace. He could see the appeal, he could, but he also found them ridiculous. The passing staff had caught Ming's attention and she was already stepping towards the kitchen. He didn't like the look of this. She seemed to have an...affinity for sweets and candies. The last thing they needed was a sugar-crazed Ming on their hooves to get them all discovered. He tentatively followed behind her, wanting to make sure that she didn't get them or herself into any trouble. She spotted the cake a moment before he did and the look on her face said enough. Gently using his teke to push her chest backwards, he whispered in a hushed voice, "I don't think this is a good idea."He was too late to stop Amalia, though, who had already taken a slice. "If it's for a big event, maybe we shouldn't be taking any..." he said hesitantly, letting the purple teke fade away now that the cake had already been touched. He really, really didn't feel like getting in trouble with the royal family since he had worked quite hard to get where he was now. The last thing he needed was to be fired.

MingThat was her magic she could still see the sunset even on those darkest days As soon as the voice of another was heard, Ming instantly snapped back into reality and her cheeks blushing endlessly, what a fool she was. To let herself go like this, this was not like her old home, when her antics amused or at the most annoyed others, but it was tolerated. But perhaps not here. Oh gods she messed up. Eyes glanced to the other Maid, Amalia, quick to make up some sort of excuse or something.
Yet it took a second for the words she said to sink in, a bummer, eat it alone. Eyes widen with realization, she found another like herself perhaps? A one with a sweet tooth. Oh blessed is Ming! She could delight in such things. "Cake is always better with good company." she chuckled with delight. Her tail twitching at the tip as it was tied in her infamous blue bows. The bells lightly dinging, in a soothing tone.
As she watched Amalia cut into a slice, she could feel her mouth water. Oh gods, cake CAKE CAKEEE! She was so excited for cake, a pleasure she clearly took for granted, it was something she would have to make amends to. Yet soon the bubble of joy was popped as Francesco walked in and gently used his teke to move her back whispering wise truths. It was true, it probably wasn't a good idea, but it was cake.
A second of happiness gone as she looked shamefully at her hooves. "Sorry." she mumbled sincerely. Her face hot as she refused to make eye contact, and ow she had gotten Amalia in trouble as well. Curse her desires for sweet. Sucking in her bottom lip, she chewed on it, missing the security her bit and halter used to bring her.

Kali | Royal Family
The palace had been abuzz all week, the help most certainly taking up the brunt of the workload. The pale mare nodded graciously as she passed some maids, their teke heavy with sheets of luxurious cloth. The gold embroidery sparkled in the light of the hallway, leaving a warm glow against the mares coats. Further down Kali could hear chatter coming from the kitchen, smiling to two more maids as they bounced from the swinging doors. It was good to see the palace in high spirits these days, given the string of misfortune the herd had come upon this past year. Perhaps it was a sign the Royals had made the right decision.
Just as Kali was about to move on, pale blue eye's caught a glimpse of an unusual group in the corner of the kitchen. Five figures stood, surrounding the small tier of cake that had been left atop the island. The royal chuckled to herself as she observed one of the mares nearly nose deep in frosting, a longing look wrinkling her brow. Another had already lifted a slice from the table, holding it up for all to see. A moment of warmth filled her heart and quietly she pushed open the doors to stand behind the small group.
"I see you have found the sweetest part of the day."
The mare chuckled again, taking in the surprised looks of the group as she spoke. They looked much like a foal caught with their hooves in the sugar jar.
"Do not worry," Kali leaned in, whispering against their ears. "We can say the foals couldn't help themselves."

Rumor Francesco looked back at Ming, almost feeling a bit guilty that he had embarrassed her in a way. He stepped back, deciding he could only do so much to stop the others. It wasn't like he was encouraging this. His ears flicked as he heard hoof steps coming towards the group and he was put immediately on edge by this. He turned his head and met eyes with Kali. His jaw clenched and he looked away for a moment, praying this wasn't the moment where he got chastised by the royal family. "I apologize," he began before he saw the mare chuckle and say that it was alright. He felt a wave of relief wash over him and he gave a nervous smile in response. At 17 and 21, they practically were foals. Or at least that's what Francesco thought. Some of his students were as young as 17, some even older. He felt a slight sense of protectiveness over them in a way since they were his co-workers, but also some of the only other people he spoke to.
