Moree || Cleric || Post Fives
It was starkly terrifying to the mare that if any single member of the party lost their grip on her tail, they would be immediately and brutally killed, crushed by the mass of an object that they should have never been inside of in the first place. But, to the mare's great relief, everyone held their grip on her rainbow-and-white tail, plowing through the barrier as though it were little more than low-hanging fog. Once she pushed through to the far side, Moree released the inner strain of consciousness that was keeping hold of her blessing, and allowed herself to rematerialize, bringing the forms of the other equines with her. Sudden, sharp pain sprang up between her eyes, and the golden cleric stumbled slightly, catching herself with her prosthetic limb before she fell. Although she was intensely adept with her blessing, she had never before attempted to carry so many others with her, and it had quite knocked the wind out of her. Wishing she had some comfrey or lavender, herbs that she could use to calm her pounding head, the mare shook her fluffy mane out of her eyes, and glanced over her shoulder, just to make sure that everyone was all right.
Words passed over her ears like water, but she did not register any of them completely. Snippets about Luna, the Divine, and other sundries poked through, and Moree pieced together that she was to accompany Luna, and those who were not going to stay and fight, in their quest to find the Divine. That seemed easy enough, with the Pegasi halted behind an ice wall, and the Talorians gathered together, ready to protect their own kind. But, perhaps, she thought too soon, for with a sudden flash, one of the enemy Flock members reappeared on the far side of the ice wall, yelling down tauntingly that the Divine was not within the palace walls. Moree's blood turned to ice. If the Divine wasn't there...they were risking their lives for absolutely nothing. And if she wasn't here...then where was she? What would they do to the gray mare? Thoughts raced a mile a minute through the palomino's head, and her blue gaze wavered slightly.
But...she couldn't just give up hope that they could rescue the Divine. Cascade herself was behind them in this mission, wasn't she? They were reclaiming her mortal voice, after all. Surely, she would not lead them to their deaths. Narrowing her eyes, the golden cleric pinned the pegasus with a steely gaze. "Forgive me if I don't believe you," she snorted, praying that her words were true. With this, she turned, hoping that the others would follow, and began moving towards the depths of the palace. Please, please, Cascade, let them all stay safe, and let the group find their Divine. It was their only hope for the rescuers...and possibly the herd's survival.

Alcaeus Freedom Flight
After he left the side of the horses he had entered the building with, he quickly started to feel dumb over that action. No longer with company, by himself, open to ambush. He had very little knowledge about the area within the palace. It was also much harder to find out where a bird had come from, rather than gone. He flew as quickly in the space he had as he could, searching quickly down hallways with quick glances and listening for any sound other than those of his own wings.
At first, he’d assumed he’d imagined the voices, but as the voices continued, he changed his course, following their direction. It wasn’t too hard - there was a lot of voices and conversation. And he was in a hurry.
He had to come to a quick stop - turning the corner, seeing a very familiar pegasus right before him, that he’d left a few seconds ago. Behind them was an ice wll, were the other two mares he’d left now stood.
He landed on the ground, an attempt to block the path from the ground, further. He frowned at the exchange of words, of the Divine. He, himself, wasn’t sure if the Devine was actually still here. But he didn’t dwell on it.
“You’re wasting yours and everyone else’s time,” he added, stating in a harsh tone, “just leave.” Be a distraction, it’s all he had to do, right?

Passing through the blockade was all but a pleasant experience. Luna would have attributed it to the feeling of wading through water but without the lingering fear of being crushed to death if she let go.
Once they were through, she let her jaw go slack, surveying the rest of the group. Moree stumbled and she rushed to the other mare’s side, using herself as support if the girl needed it. The others began discussing who would stay and who would continue and Luna knew that she had to push on. She was the only one who knew the palace well but she didn’t want to leave them all behind to the Flight.
She opened her mouth to protest when a pegasus appeared out of thin air with a ‘pop’. They claimed the Divine wasn’t here but Luna stood steady, ears pinned back as she wrinkled her nose at them. She trusted the information she was given and knew deep in her heart that it was the truth.
Moree took off and Luna hesitated for a moment, glancing at the party members they were leaving behind.
“May Cascade be in your favor!” she called hopefully, twisting on her heels and taking off. Another pegasus landed in front of their path yet Luna dodged around him, continuing down the hall.
“Your leader must not trust you all very well if you don’t know where she is!” she tossed a taunt behind her, hoping that those left behind would be able to stall the Flight members. Speaking up like this felt brave but also insanely terrifying. Luna just prayed that her information was still correct...

Nimhue
Talori | Brewer
Nimhue gasped for air as she finally fully passed through the wall. She hadn’t dared to before, afraid it would cause her to get stuck in the barrier or even mess up her lungs. Her eyes, which had been closed as well, fluttered open as she took in the situation around her. She didn’t have to count on, though she had faith to receive one when the time was right. She wasn’t very manouverable either, but nonetheless she squared her shoulders and took her place beside the others.
“Please, find and return her safely,” she begged the grey-white mare as they ran, hopefully to retrieve their divine. She quivered as one of the flock members appeared before them, Luna barely dodging him. Hebdidn’t land, wings flapping to keep him above ground. Nimhue pursed her lips, reminding herself that not all pegasi where like this. Those flock members made it hard however to trust. Now they needed their divine more than ever and they had to keep these villains away so Luna could make that happen. She clutched the dagger she had snatched from the ground somewhere before, trying to raise conviction. She didn’t cry as she leaped foward, aiming at her opponents wings, but instead she sent prayer to Cascade. Forgive her for drawing blood first.

REESE (NPC) Freedom's Flight
They weren't supposed to have weapons.
That was all they could think as the sheen of metal flew at them. The pale mare wielding it had looked so dually sweet and terrified the moment before. Now she was lunging toward them with fury in her eyes.
And like they were still wet behind the ears, they had turned away for one second to see a silvery mare dart past them, down the hallway, and turned back to find themselves at the sour end of a silver point.
Reese skittered back, their hooves scraping the floor in vain as they furiously flapped backwards, but it was too late.
Numbness.
Instantly the wing dropped. Blood pooled down their shoulder, black against their brown coat. Their knees crumpled to the ground. Blood splattered the stone floor. Their vision swirled. Blood roared in their ears.
They couldn't feel the pain- it was too much to feel all at once- but they felt the weapon enter the joint. Felt the snap of something deep inside. Felt the dead weight of a feathered limb brushing the ground.
From a fucking dagger! A sword Reese would feel justified bearing, but the equivalent of a kitchen knife? They'd never accept this.
"Cupid!" they rasped at the empty air. "Octavia! Get Alcaeus! Stop them!"
They stood on wobbly feet. Blood ran down their front leg. They squeezed their eyes shut.
Like the sacrifices.

Alcaeus Freedom Flight
He threw his head towards the action, just in time to see a horse pass by him. He had to stop and blink as he registered what had happened. His gaze followed the mare, about to take after her, follow her and stop her from reaching the Divine, presumably; if the Divine was there at least. He assumed she knew exactly where she was heading, with a pace like that.
The second later, he saw, in the corner of his eyes, a wing simply fall from the horse who was next to him. It was enough to stop his start, to look over at Reese in pure disbelief. He'd seen Pegasi go wingless, his mother and brother had, after all. It hadn't exactly happened, but it came close, right here.
Alcaeus couldn't form an action, a thought, his disbelief stunning him. It was his name that snapped his shock in half. Enough for him to walk back a step, for him to toss back his head, to turn towards the way Luna had ran and finally follow after her, in flight to make up after what she would have gained on the ground.
He was pretty sure some of him had just ran away in fear from the sight of seeing Reese almost loose a wing, but he didn't think back about that.

Cupid
She was born to be a lover to make people's life better and to chase sunsets
Watching Reese pass threw the wall, Cupid grunted in disdain. Did he never think of anyone else besides himself, what he needed? Eyes narrowed as she began rearing at the ice wall, hooves chipping at the ice. It was cold, but with her heart racing as if she was running for dear life, she felt none the numbness. Cracking through she was able to make enough room to slip in through the crack of the wall. Hopefully Octavia could do the same or find another way around.
As she slipped through her eyes widen in sudden horror. Reese was down, she saw the blood and everything felt quiet. No... No.. NO NO NO NO. This wasn't supposed to happen! These horses Cupid eyed them, they were not warriors why did they come with weapons? Why did she not bring something more.
Reese called out to her, and she pressed through the ice, losing a few feathers along the way. "Reese!" she called out in near panic. He called out for the others, but all she could focus on at the moment was Reese, and the blood. Why did their have to be blood? The red color haunting, and faint reminded none of them could live forever.
Cupid cared little for the distraction, her job was to mend to heal, but she lacked most thing. Eyes turned towards the others that seemed to be ready to fight and she narrowed her eyes all the more. How dare they! Of course none of them would understand, they all still fight for a herd that hardly fights for the rights of others. They call themselves traditionalist, but clearly another excuse to get past the fact they kill winged kind alike. Now, they've wounded Reese, terribly it seems. "Chase after you Divine. You wont find her here." she snorted stomping her hoof as she moved her small frame protectively in front of Reese. Eyes looked back to him, as she looked at his dropped wing. "Here I have a few things to help." she remarked. She didnt wan't to talk about the permanent damage that may last. Cupid moved closer to his wing, willing to give aid as soon as he allowed it.

Thalassa Talorian ClericThere is a swelling storm, and I'm caught up in the middle of it all
It all happened in a flash. One moment they were being set upon by the flight, and the next, the quiet Nimhue had summoned up enough courage to injure one of the pegasi, successfully creating a diversion while Luna and Moree took off down the hall with only one of the four flight members chasing after them. At least with only one equine on their trail, they stood half a chance In an attempt to stall for time, Thalassa summoned forth a thick layer of ice across the floor at the remaining pegasi's hooves, holding them fast to the ground. While she knew it wouldn't hold them long, especially if she wasn't there to maintain it, she prayed it would buy them the time they needed. "We need to keep moving." She urged, glancing at the others emphatically. "Luna and Moree may need us still, and we'll be of no help if we're only stalling those meant to stall us." Her gaze shifted back to the hallway the thee equines had dashed though before she started moving down it herself, pace filled with the urgency she felt.

The rag tag group of rescuers managed to make their way down the long, open stretches of hallway, following the trail of open doors left in Moree and Luna's wake. Ahead, they can hear the voice of the pegasus, Alcaeus, taunting the pair as he purses them. His voice betraying his growing irritation with Moree's ability to phase through walls with Luna at her side, though his search for the two remains relentless.
A ways behind them, the rescuers hear the frustrated voices of the three other pegasi as they break free of their icy bonds begins to grow louder with each moment. Attempting to avoid any more run ins, the group does what they can to weave their way through the maze of open doors and empty rooms, hiding from the flight as they catch up, and evading the pegasi when they inevitably start to get to close for comfort.
The strange game of cat and mouse seems to go on for hours, making the palace seem even bigger than any of the equines involved could have ever imagined. Eventually, they manage to catch up to Luna and Moree, thankful that the pair had cleared the way. Exhausted and worn out as they all are, they make their way to the final unchecked door, just as the Flight pegasi round one of the many corners leading into the small foyer...

octavia I FEEL THE PAGES TURNING I SEE THE CANDLE BURNING DOWN
She stared in horror as Reese fell, her own blood turning to ice as they lay on the floor, the red substance slowly spreading across the tile and staining their brown coat. Octavia was at a loss. The enemies scattered and seemed to run every which way, and though Reese’s shout made her flinch, it did not give her any incentive to do as they said. It seemed Alcaeus listened well enough, but when Cupid remained by Reese’s side, Octavia opted to do the same. She was terrified, and the sudden ice at her hooves made her hiss softly. The roan didn’t knew whether to admire or despises Reese’s determination - they were still bleeding, and yet it seemed they were battling the hardest to break free of the ice. The Talorians all seemed to bolt at that, and Octavia pulled in vain as their hoofsteps grew more and more distant. With collective efforts the trio finally broke free, and once more Reese was leading them, though the palace seemed like a maze they ran and ran and ranthey turned a corner, and there they were. “Stop!” Octavia only registered her “demand” as useless after it was uttered, but the panic within her was bubbling to the surface as they once more neared the Talorians. _________________

ABINADI PHILOSOPHER
Nimhue's bravery, if panicked, was admirable. The flock pegasus's pain was tangible. Abinadi winced involuntarily, gripping the thin, snappy branch (more fit to lash an unruly member of society) just a little tighter as he eyed the Flock members warily; Moree and Luna had already disappeared down the hall. Now, it appeared, they would be doing the same.
The ice coated the floor and again, Abinadi praised the great nature of his god. They move seemingly without direction, trying any unopened door, constantly redoubling within the halls. All they think of is finding their Divine and avoiding the group meant to keep them at bay.
"Don't," Abinadi said simply, referring to the command yelled from 'round the corner. This was the last door. This was the last unchecked door (to their understanding, they very well could have missed something in the panic) and Abinadi was not about to let any of the crew get distracted. Yes, it was a dead end, but it could also be their salvation.
His teke grasped the door and then swung it open.

Corrine Grand Cleric of TaloriIm a series of small victories and large defeats and I am as amazed as any other that I have gotten from there to here A shocked look took over her face as she watched one of the Flock fall, and for a second the grand cleric wanted to use her gift to heal, to help to mend. Yet for her, she looked at them and the others and nodded as they all moved quickly following after the others. No one understands the pain it has to be to know one was made to heal, and to turn around and not to heal, even if they are the enemy. She knew the pain, knew how it was going to affect him, still she had to turn away. Save her gift for the Divine. The one that would truly need healing.
As the group moved forwards they rounded to the final door, the unopened one. It was the one left and Corrine felt her heart racing, as they reached it, Corrine could see the Flock after them rounding the cornor and Corrine snorted ears flickered back as she turned her head to the door, it was to late she thought as Abinadi opened the door.

Cupid
She was born to be a lover to make people's life better and to chase sunsets
She did her best to help Reese out, but they had to catch up. The one with the ice walls was giving them trouble and pushing them back to much for their own effort. Yet Cupid was thankful Octavia stayed near and helped. She gave the mare a nod of thanks as they trio rushed onward the best they could. Cupid was looking around, she could see the doors opened, with no one inside.
Perhaps they where lucky, perhaps the Divine had been moved. Maybe she wasn't here at all, perhaps they all have been fooled. It was wasteful thinking. Yet as the rounded the corner, her stomach dropped. Eyes widen as the group was in front of what seemed to be the last door unchecked. No this was not good, they were loosing control each step, was a step to their ruin. Octavia called out for them to stop, but why would they. They were right there and it was everything they needed. They would not be stopped.
All the could do was run, so Cupid dashed forwards trying her best to gain speed, yet with each hoof step, she watched as one said Dont, and suddenly the door was open and Cupid felt the need to to curse, but found herself biting her lip instead as she ran forwards. They could still change the tides right? They could change things, this wouldn't be a set back. She thought to herself as she ran with worry and rage within her small frame. They would not allow Talori to go back to their ways.

Moree | Cleric | Post Six
Damn. Her leg was burning. Each hoofstep sent a shooting pain from the mid-knee joint on her right side all the way up through the top of her shoulder. Moree's breath hissed through her teeth as she pushed through the pain, forcing herself to keep up the pel-mel pace, with Luna by her side. The fight from behind them dimmed as the mares distanced themselves from the rest of the group, twisting through tunnels and passageways in an attempt to find their Divine. In order to make the journey easier, Moree phased them through whatever walls sprung up in their path, ignoring the fact that it became more and more difficult to keep her energy up after each passing moment. Although the mare's blessing was as powerful as it would ever be, there were limits, and she was afraid that she might reach them before they even managed to reach the end of their arduous journey.
As if the Goddess heard her worries, Moree found herself sliding to a stop in the last room they could reach. She and Luna had crossed through the door with little thought to it being their final destination, and Moree turned to look over her shoulder at the still-closed entranceway. The only way out was going to be back the way they came, assuming that their herdmates had cleared a path. Since Moree could neither confirm nor deny this, all she could do was look forward, towards the next task: rescuing the divine. Catching Luna's gaze, she gave the other horse an earnest look, before she turned her attention to what lay before them.

Eve I hear the voices coming closer I hear the horses over water; I hear the whisper of your cavalry
(TW - ritualized self-harm)
Reincarnation was a staple that even the most dispassionate Talorian could indulge a cursory belief in. For her, it was an indisputable truth: the Great River of Time carried each perished soul onward to a new vessel. Death was a transition, an impermanent state of being.
Except when it wasn’t.
Souls who died in terrible agony carried that burden with them. Afflicted with anguish, they tarried within the current until invariably they were caught in the stagnant Shallows. There they stayed, hopelessly lost in limbo. Some never escaped, but Bethel would.
The ritual she used was ancient, and to her knowledge it reached back to the first days of a land-dwelling Aquore. She had performed it many times across many lives, but never with such fervor as to complete it each and every night.
A circle of seasalt. A basin of rainwater. Blood freely given. She had no access to salt, and the waterskin would have to do for the rain. That was fine, she reasoned. It was the blood that was important. Blood was the Wave Mother’s greatest gift and a mortal’s most significant sacrifice. It was holy by virtue of its very existence.
Food was delivered in a simple ceramic bowl each night. Eve washed it meticulously, blessed it, and set the newly divine vessel in the center of the room. She filled it with water from the skin, and bit into the sore flesh of her legs. At first she had used a shank, meticulously whittled down from a shard of bedpost, but Serene had seen the cuts and confiscated it, finding the blade beneath a loose floor stone. Relegated to a bed without a frame, Eve had settled for the use of her teeth.
River. Peace. Mother. Return. Salvation. Bethel. With her teke she smeared red words clockwise around the bowl’s perimeter, using the old runes that most Aquorians had forgotten. They were purer, created by Cascade herself and able to reach beyond the veneer of mortality and touch the beyond.
“Wave Mother.” Her voice shook as she dripped blood into the basin. She didn’t know if it was emotion or weakness. “I give what is most sacred, that which brings motion to my bones and breath to my lungs, so that You might hear my plea, and recover those who have drifted far from Your great design.”
The ritual could not be closed until the water was given back to the sea. Eve thrust the bowl into Serene’s possession each morning, and though clearly frustrated, she always promised to see it through. Eve didn’t know if she told the truth, but she chose to believe.
For now it was done. Eve set the bowl on the windowsill to await the morning. Her eyes drifted to the bed. Her legs tried to go weak at the prospect of rest. She was exhausted, had been for weeks, but nonetheless sleep didn’t come easy.
The door clicked. It was an off-schedule intrusion, and she was just frightened enough to feel adrenaline seep cumbersomely into her bones. The last time someone had come knocking without a routine, Bethel had died. Heart hammering, she turned to regard the faces looking back - and realized, after a significant beat, that she knew them.
“Oh.” She breathed. Her eyes stung. It was hard to see.

Thalassa Talorian ClericThere is a swelling storm, and I'm caught up in the middle of it all
As the door swung open, Thalassa felt her heart skip a beat, all of her hopes resting in what lie just a few feet beyond her. She closed her eyes tightly, almost to afraid to open them just in case all the searching and struggle had been for naught. And then she heard the familiar voice of the one she had missed so dearly. Eyes flung open to reveal the Divine. Her Divine. Her Eve. She trembled softly as she took in the scene, thoughts racing as she pushed her way past the others and into the room. "Eve..." Any bit of expectation for formalities and ceremonial conduct flew out the window as she rushed to the mare's side. Pressing her forehead lovingly against Eve's cheek, she felt as if the weight of the world dropped off her shoulders. It wasn't until that moment she realized she'd been holding her breath. Inhaling deeply, she felt tears begin to well up in her eyes as relief and sadness washed over her. "Oh Eve... My dear sweet Eve..." She muttered softly, taking in the number of cuts along her foreleg. Her gaze shifting to the room, she could easily see the remains of an old and sacred ritual, one she knew only a few drops of blood were needed to perform.... This? This was overkill. 'Oh my darling, what have you done..." She wondered, concern casting a shadow across her face. "You've been alone in here far too long. It's time to get you home..."

Nimhue
Talori | Brewer
Nimhue let go of the knife as soon as it hit the mark, watching in certain horror as the her oponents wing fell down limply. She wished she could rub clean her teke to wash away the horrible feeling of sinking something in another equine’s flesh. What done was done however and trembling she made her way past her victim and towards wherever Moree and Luna had disappeared to, following Thalassa’s sensible suggestion. She couldn’t really fight anyway.
She couldn’t look back, but she could hear the yells after her, trying to throw of their faith and break their hope of finding their divine. She wouldn’t let such things fool her. "Don’t listen to them,” she said as they hurried forward. And so the pursuit started.
They ran what seemed for hours, may have been hours, before they reached a dead end. Nimhue could hear a call demanding them to stop, their opponent rounding the corner. She could barily stand anymore, legs having gotten more excercise than ever before. It was only with Thalassa's help that she had managed to make it this far. Now, they needed to go now. A small sound, perhaps a sob escaped her as her companions threw open that last door and they piled inside, Nimhue’s legs buckling as she rested against a wall. No more, she could go no more.
She was a second too worried about the door and how it needed to be closed to keep those flock members out, that she didn’t notice Eve or the set-up of the room. But then she saw and she cried earnestly, tears of relief and happiness to see their divine alive. If only now she was well. Their divine looked worse for wear, legs covered with wounds, both new and fresh. First she thought it had been the flock to mutilate Eve like that, but then she saw the bowl, the symbols written in blood and she nodded her head in understanding. This ritual was for the fallen princess, Eve had of course been right in using it. She was a little suprised there were so many wounds, but perhaps their divine had been taking care of many souls.
Her eyes slid back to the door and she was reminded that they weren’t done yet. That it wasn’t yet safe. “We need to go, but the hall is blocked,” she said weakly, voice thick with worry and fear. How where they going to get past those remaining flock members? She could barely stand.

Eve I hear the voices coming closer I hear the horses over water; I hear the whisper of your cavalry
Thalassa. Eve's heart lurched as she recognized her. Growing dizzy with disbelief, she stumbled forward until her cheek was caught against the mare's head and pressed there, close and tight. Hot tears rolled down her face. She was old and ancient and bone-weary with grief, but in that moment she felt like a child.
"Thalassa," She wept, imagining that it was relief that made her voice so thick, "I never thought I'd see you again. Not in this lifetime."
It was unbecoming and toed the line of scandalous to her position, but nonetheless Eve buried her head against the mare's throat and choked, withers quaking. Her scent was familiar. Eve had forgotten what familiarity and love felt like. "Thaumas and Bethel are gone, Thalassa." She whispered. Their names hurt. She pressed harder against the cleric's neck. "I haven't seen the Emperor, or Rycaron, or... or--"
She drew back, eyes tearing as she looked at every face gathered in the room, faces she knew and loved and had not expected to see here, in this horrible little room. "I'm sorry." She whispered, feeling foolish. They had come so far for her. She smeared the wetness from her eyes with her teke. "I'm so sorry. Thank you. Thank you for, for coming for me."
Her gaze focused on Nimhue, dipping from the brewer's exhausted face to her legs, tied in familiar braces. Eve felt another sob form in her throat and choked it. "There's no other way to escape this room." She breathed. "They've bound it with wretched fire magic; no blessing works here."
She frowned. "... Do our people fight back? How did you find me?"

Her whole body burned as she raced down the halls with Moree, weaving in and out of the walls to throw off their pursuiters. She’d never run so fast before, her lungs struggling to keep up. Adrenaline and anxiety kept her fatigue at bay, at least until they reached the final door.
Once inside, Luna’s heart staggered and seized, struggling to make up for the hard work she put it through. She sucked in a deep breath, stumbling towards a wall and collapsing against it. By Cascade it hurt. She’d known severe pain several times in her life but nothing like this. Her whole rib cage ached, like it would collapse any second. She kept her pains to herself, allowing the others to focus on Eve.
Exhausted, the fragile mare let herself slide to the floor in a moment of relief while her heart fought to pull itself back under control. She’d done it, she’d led them all to their Divine. If her body was going to give itself up here, at least she had something to be proud of. She raised weary eyes to the other silver mare, mustering a slight smile.
“It was me and Abinadi, my Divine,” her voice carried quietly, almost shying under her gaze as Eve turned to her. “We did everything to find you.”

REESE (NPC) Freedom's Flight
The ice that swelled around their feet only made them more furious. Who the fuck in this party had ice manipulation?!
But kicking and breaking free, they stood, shards like glass flying everywhere. They shook their head, staving off dizziness, and staggered over to a long curtain framing the window of the hallway. They ripped it down with their teeth. It was linen.
With a groan, they pulled their wing up with teke, and barked for Cupid to tie it around their body. They could still run, but a limb flapping on the ground was dangerous and impractical.
They moaned when the wing pulled against their side. The pain was dull, numbing, explosive. Too much for their brain to feel.
With the final knot, Reese leapt forward in a gallop. With every stride their wing bounced against their back, sending painful shockwaves through their body that made their brow bead sweat. No time for that.
Too late, they scrambled to the doorway where the fish bastards found the Divine and were swarming her like ants.
They gritted their teeth. They turned a fraction of an inch in Octavia's direction, glaring at her out the corner of their eye.
"Get Perseus. And a healer."
Their vision exploded in a burst of black static as the pain finally reached their brain, screaming from shock, and they felt their cheek hit the cold stone floor.Post #4
// Reese passes out and with a medic's help, they're revived and bandaged properly. However, the dagger snapped a few vital nerves in the wing joint that will render the wing somewhat moveable, but chronically weak. Reese will never fly again.

Corrine Grand Cleric of TaloriIm a series of small victories and large defeats and I am as amazed as any other that I have gotten from there to here As the door opened Corrine was ready to weep with joy as she saw the Divine. Eve she was alive, yet as she took in the sight, her eyes became calcuating as she witnessed the wounds, and suddenly she was looking at everything. The floor the room, and she understood. For a moment she was ready to weep with delight, and suddenly she wanted to weep in sorrow and grief, for even in their darkest times the Divine still tried their best. All alone, they did what they could.
Thalassa brought Eve a great comfort, something she was happy to see for the poor thing truly needed it. Needed something, someone strong enough for her to weep so openly. Her heart was shattering at the scene before, yet still she remained silent. For Corrine knew when there was a time to speak, and time to listen, and it was clear now was the time to listen, to allow others to speak. Corrine nodded as Luna mentioned how Abinadi and herself had lead the search had found their divine. Without those two Corrine worried what would have happened, though she shook those thoughts from her head. Now was not the time. They found Eve, they had their Divine back, things were going to change for all of them and she prayed it would be in their favor now.

Alcaeus Freedom Flight
Despite a pause, after watching Reese be the target of an attack from these otherwise fragile looking opponents, it didn't take too long to catch up to the other horses that had rushed ahead during the commotion. There wasn't anywhere else to run anyway, other than down to the end door. He witness them open it, everyone in suspense. And his heart dropped as they found Eve.
He was distracted by the sight at first - the Divine seemed to be absent minded and taking part in a ritual that didn't hold any meaning to him, nor did the name she muttered while so.
He gritted his teeth as they started to talk, backing off. There wasn't much else to do - that they could do, without further instruction. They had failed being a proper distraction. The Divine was found. Despite the enemy being far from intimidating horses, they would never be able match the other's numbers, with one of their own also hurt. He had nothing else he could do but go rejoin his side, to help with Reese and the other two. Another time, perhaps - it would be in their favour.

She was stardust. Eternities passed in moments as she was scattered across space. Barely conscious of anything beyond her own bright bit of sentience, Alya struggled to remember what it meant to be herself, what it meant to exist. Then through the darkness, came a child’s cry. WIND-MOTHER! And Alya began to remember. In the darkness, she listened, with a dread and hope for each one. The pain of them struck her and yet they drew her onward. As more and more of her people called to her, pleaded with her, even cursed her name, she grew stronger. She pieced herself together, cementing her resolve with their need, with their love for her and her love for them. As fiercely as she had fought against the two traitors, she battled even more ferociously to return to them. She would not abandon them. For so long, her heart had been turned to the past, a vicious sentinel against the mistakes of yesterday. It had blinded her. Her wings scream with pain as she spreads them, the cuts levied against so many of her children borne upon them. In penance, she opens herself to their pain, to their terror as they fell, wingless, to the waves. It permeates her; the acid fear of mortality eating at her raw heart. It erodes away to a cold, contained rage, dense as a black hole and as ravenous. CASCADE. SISTER! She screams into the sky and the Wave Mother is there, as immense and eternal as herself. The goddess of the winds wants to rage in hurricanes at her blood, at this newly perceived betrayal. The sight of her sister, one of her dearest, stops her. There is agony in the goddess’s eyes. Cascade opens her mind to her and Alya sees the depth of the sorrow and rage that wells in the ocean’s heart, that has collected for centuries. Alya has found this hurt newborn but the Wave Mother has borne the deaths of her children, borne their pain, and wept for each and every one. Cascade cradles their souls and keeps them safe after their senseless slaughter. WHERE? She demands and Cascade answers, guiding her as the current does a vessel. Alya was to be a weapon wielded by her sister, both of vengeance and of learning, as two goddesses sought to reshape a nation. YOU POOR, DELUDED CHILD. Her voice echoes in the Divine’s mind. She feels the cut of the knife through each of the memories she pores through, watching remembrances of the sacrifices as if viewing evidence. RISE ABOVE YOUR SUPERSTITIONS. The voice, Alya’s voice, passes sentence for all to hear. Eve’s fins begin to crumple, the delicate veil of it desiccating and crumbling off to dust. Feathers and bones force themselves from the Divine’s shoulders as Alya drags wings from beneath her skin.

Moree | Cleric | Post Seven
Moree had literally never been so shocked in all her life. Not when she grew years in a matter of moments. Not when she stared down at the bloody mess that had once been her foreleg for the first time. Not when she alone had to bring her dog-birthed brother into the world. Never. Never, in her few short years had she been so aghast at a sight. The Divine herself was an awe-inspiring presence, with her scarred legs, and her vivid expression. But to see her fins crumble before the palomino's eyes, replaced by a blossoming of feathered wings from her shoulder blades.
Moree didn't realize that she was kneeling until she felt the coldness of the floor pressing into her knees. Her head was bowed, and it took all her strength to raise it up, to see the Divine in her new form. The palomino Cleric could do little more than marvel at the magnificent change that had appeared before her. Only once before had she even heard of something similar happening, and then it was to her own mother. Kali had been given the traits of the Wave Mother before their daughter had been born, a story that Moree loved to be retold to her when she was young. But to actually see it happen...and to see a Hippocampus revert to the "lower" class of a Pegasus...it meant more than the stories of her childhood. The image of a winged Defender flashed before Moree's eyes. Could...Could it be that this was somehow related to that journey into the Wilds temple?
Moree couldn't understand all that was happening before her. It made her head hurt just to think about what was going on before her eyes. So, she stared blankly, struggling to make sense of the feathered Divine before her.

ABINADI PHILOSOPHER
Abinadi noted Luna's soft praise for herself and him. It was kind, but unnecessary to mention him. The horses down the hall again called themselves to his attention, and he watched with mild discomfort as one of the group (they whom Nimhue had rendered useless) collapsed to the stone floor. The Divine was frail, he thought quietly looking back, and he could quite clearly see the marks of ritual blood letting along her forelegs. He commended her devotion even as the heavy, divine voice rings out amongst them all. RISE ABOVE YOUR SUPERSTITIONS.
Abinadi did not flinch at the voice, though it brought a certain sense of wrongness down his spine. This was not his goddess. Eve's fins dropped, crumpling into nothing, and in their place, wings carve themselves from a place where previously there were none.
His teachings contradicted themselves. Pegasi were not of equal worth to their hippocampi brothers and sisters; yet, the divine was the living voice of their goddess. The pegasus could only stand and watch; shocked, but quickly rearranging his world view. Reinterpreting what he had learned. The gods were fluid, ever changing just as their societies could be.
Abinadi cleansed those thoughts from his mind, turning to glance back at what pursuit they had had waiting in the hall. "My Divine, our Wave Mother always listens; even the most devout are challenged." He said softly, still unsure of the meaning of this change, but not wholly unaccepting of it.
Time would tell for the Talori.

octavia I FEEL THE PAGES TURNING I SEE THE CANDLE BURNING DOWN
Her breath caught in her throat as the Talorians proceeded, her pathetic cry was all in vain as they continued onwards. The door swung open and there she was - the Divine. Octavia remembered her, as vague as those memories were, and she felt her breath quiver. They were reunited, and she could only watch with wide eyes before Reese snapped at her. The command was alarming, jostling her into a newfound awareness and then horror as the brown pegasus collapsed to the ground. She was about to run, body coiled and ready to sprint to find those she had been instructed to find, but suddenly, all actions ceases. It was a voice unlike any other, an all powerful hymn that did not frighten her, no, it resonated within her. Where others would flinch, she stood tall, and then she watched silently as wings sprouted from Eve’s back. Octavia began to pad backwards, unable to take her eyes off of the feathers that now rested upon the Divine’s back, as though she had always had them. Perseus. It was a single thought, but it was all she could do. Octavia ran, body trembling as her hooves collided with the marble floor. She did not look back. _________________

Thalassa Talorian ClericThere is a swelling storm, and I'm caught up in the middle of it all
Thalassa shook her head, not knowing how to deal with the news she'd recieved. The emperor's daughter and the Defender, both dead? It was almost too much... How many more deaths had she been ignorant of because of her time in the wilds? Turning to look at Eve once more, she watched in horror as the Divine's beautiful fins shriveled up and fell off her delicate form, as if they were leaves on a tree with no water. As terrifying as it was though, it didn't end there. Slowly, aggressively, a pair of feathery wings sprouted from the mare's shoulders, refusing to be held back. What was happening? And then she heard it. The unfamiliar voice speaking angrily as the Divine's new wings settled into place. It reminded the cleric of Cascade in some ways and yet... it didn't feel like the sea goddess at all.. RISE ABOVE YOUR SUPERSTITIONS.The command shook the mare, leaving Thalassa in utter shock and awe. Not knowing what else to do, she just stood there for a moment, un-moving as she processed through what had just transpired, and attempting to keep herself together for Eve's sake. If she was feeling this shaken up about it all, she could only imagine how her Divine felt.
