Ollyn || Briem || The Labyrinth
Just when he thought his work was done for the day, Ollyn had been tasked with something a bit out of the ordinary. He'd been told a young filly by the name of Gemstone had wandered from her usual haunts. Now, her grandmother was beginning to worry as she couldn't find the young girl anywhere. He had been given little else to go one except for her appearance. The thought crossed his mind that this might be a wild goose chase, a ghost hunt offered to him by his superiors as a joke. It was no secret they weren't fond of Ollyn, despite their respect for his father. Regardless, if they were serious and there was a young filly missing, any number of things could be amiss. Perhaps she was lost, or even worse, perhaps she was in danger. Ollyn didn't want to consider that option for her sake, but the fact that he could be facing that very real possibility kept his steps quick and his eyes alert.
By now he'd progressed from Nariah's into the depths of the Labyrinth, where the city's thriving life began to give way to Briem's many dark tunnels and cave systems. Here it was easy enough to find himself distracted by the beauty of the natural caverns, he but he refused to allow himself the respite. He had a job to do, after all, and there was no way he was about to report to his superiors without completing his task.
After what felt like hours since his initial departure from the inner city, Ollyn finally caught sight of a black and white pelt, alight with the glow of a gemstone embedded in the cave wall.
"Hello?" he called. He approached tentatively, hoping not to startle the stranger.
