Serene l Brewer
The mare paced anxiously, occasionally glancing outside her window as she waited for her young guests. A mix of pegasi and others who supported them, a dangerous choice in these dark times. Mulling over the weeks events, her mind lingered on the poor helpless child sacrificed to Cascade. Serene wrinkled her nose in disgust. She had never liked the sacrifices, and quite honestly, she felt perfectly capable of serving the goddess even with her striped wings keeping her out of some areas of Aquore. Even still, she understood the significance of the sacrifice, and would have never wished the turmoil currently plaguing her home even on her worst enemy.
Ruffling her massive wings, she tried to calm her nerves, praying that the goddess would keep those she’d called upon safe as they traveled. For some, the daunting trek through the city was more than just frightening, it was a journey that could prove fatal. No, she couldn’t afford to think like that. Even though she was not incredibly close to many of those she was expecting, she had watched them grow up. Many of their mothers had gone to her when searching for a remedy or salve for their young children. Daemyn had grown into a strong and dedicated guardian whom she respected greatly. Tansy was a compassionate cleric she’d grown fond of over the years. Kalakara was a talented young brewer she’d taken notice over over the years. Farsight was a pagasi much like herself, whose antics and harrowing amused her greatly. Zenith was a young brewer she’d taken on as an apprentice, growing to love the young horse as if they were her own child. They were all strong, brave individuals, and Serene only hoped that if they stood together in unity they’d have a better chance at survival.
A gentle knock at the door forced the pegasus out of her head and back to the present. Tentatively answering the unseen guest, her voice was almost a whisper. “Please come in, and welcome to my home.”

Kalakara | BrewerThe brewer's green forelock brushed across his eyes, and his mane and tail streamed behind his as he crossed the street with sudden and urgent haste. At a time like this, it wasn't safe to be out and about, and the black overo only wanted to get to Serene's meeting place without meeting any trouble. Stopping behind a building to pant a little, the mustang stood, hiding in what shadows he could find. The black overo might have fish-like abilities in the water (thanks to Cascade's blessing of Nymphism), but on land, he was a hopeless wreck.
Gathering himelf, Kali eyed the doorway just down another street; that was his intended target. It wouldn't be too hard to reach, so long as Kali ran into now rioters on the way there. He was close, so close now. Just a little more. The mare gritted her teeth, moving stiff, tired legs. He'd traveled quite a ways already, and he was beginning to feel the fatigue in his muscles. Just a little farther, he told himself, as he bunched his haunches and cantered across the open area, his golden horseshoes ringing eerily on the streets as he ran.
Skidding to a halt, Kali took a moment to catch his breath before knocking softly on the other Brewer's door, listening intently for an answer. When the call to enter came from inside, he nudged the door open gently, shutting it behind him as he blinked, adjusting to the lighting in Serene's home. He glanced around, taking in the details of Serene's living quarters, before his eyes fell on the zebra-striped mare herself. Nodding his head to her, Kali mumbled a greeting, noticing that he seemed to be the only one here as of yet. Cocking one hoof, the stallion leaned his weight to one side, making himself as comfortable as he could in the unfamiliar surroundings.
"So," he began, blinking slowly at Serene as he grasped for something to say. "I guess," the stallion continued quietly, "now, we wait."

Daemyn | Guardian Post 1 Word Count: 694
When Daemyn was a little one, it had been easy to get swept away by the festivities of the Solstice Celebrations and even though he'd been frightened by the sacrifice, the calm explanation from his parents had put him at relative ease. It was simply the Talorian way of life and when he understood the honor bestowed upon the chosen pegasus and how the sacrifice was treated, he didn't feel quite so bad. But as he grew and began to develop opinions of his own, rather than parroting his parents, he came to have vastly different views. He'd gone through life quietly, avoiding conversations on the topic, but as a child had been brought forth this winter and her tiny wings hacked off, he'd almost joined the outraged cries. Almost. Truthfully he had been shocked into silence, warmth draining from his body and leaving him feeling frozen to the core . It had to have been a mistake, but the Divine had followed the ritual to the end and as the tiny figure stepped off of the cliff, the crowd had exploded. Daemyn had to force himself to abandon his own feelings of outrage and anger, focusing instead on doing his duty and attempt to keep the frenzied crowd at bay. Whenever he closed his eyes he saw the small bloodstained child weeping gently as she plummeted to the hungry waves below. Whether or not she would receive Cascade's great gift and be reborn as one of her chosen children was irrelevant. Taking the life of a child in the name of any god was wrong and filled Daemyn with such anger he hardly recognized himself. It was wrong to sacrifice any life, but he had been able to turn a blind eye, to accept the spilling of blood. How could Cascade demand the life of a child?! Despite everything he had been taught his entire life, despite all the glorious words that spilled from the Divine's lips, Daemyn found his faith marbled by hairline fractures. He could no longer believe, would no longer believe that this was necessary. And yet... he was bound by loyalty to his herd, had given everything as a Guardian and protector of the people and the Talori life, so were these insistent thoughts not bordering disobedience and insubordination? He had no one to turn to, no one to speak with of this turmoil in his mind, out of fear that he would be seen as a traitor. His own parents had raged about the chaos sown by sympathizers and pegasi, putting every individual with wings in the same box as any other criminal. It was no surprise that Daemyn kept silent and excused himself as having to perform his duty, before leaving for this secret meeting. Even as he walked to his destination, with Calathea perched on his back to keep keen eyes on any trouble behind them, he struggled with his choices. Wouldn't the right thing be to report the meeting to the Defender, Thaumas and let his superior decide what action to take? On the other hoof Daemyn was curious and almost desperate to speak with individuals that shared his own views; that taking a life to honor Cascade was wrong and stained their religion. Calathea gave a small chirp of warning and Daemyn slipped into a narrow space between two buildings, pressing in behind a pile of crates. Sharp, crisp herbal scents wafted off the containers, tickling his nose while he kept out of sight. Metal upon stone betrayed the unknown person, but the sight of dark hide had Daemyn's breath stick in his throat. Kalakara, his betrothed, passed his hiding spot and headed straight for Daemyn's destination, entering Serene's home. With Kali present the situation had changed, but he supposed this was one way to learn about the mare he would have to marry soon. Anxiety made his skin grow hot for reasons he couldn't place, and for another few long minutes he remained in hiding. Eventually he stepped out, made sure the coast was clear and slipped down the street to knock heavily on the striped brewer's door. Daemyn had made his choice.

Farsight || Talori || Harrower
Would the nightmares end? Or would they keep coming just like the waves to shore. The images never stopped and Farsight was to the point he would much rather deprive himself of sleep. What he saw, no what he witnessed was something of pure horror. A mere child, a babe still fresh and new to the world. Wings not even able to flight her, she was sacrificed to Cascade. The images flashed and sent shivers down his spine. Was Cascade choosing the young to snuff out any of Alya's blessed children within the herd? Was this a warning for all Pegasi? Farsight shook his head wanting to pound his skull into the wall, this was all to much and why hand't the cards warned him of this, why couldn't he have seen this? He should have, he should have.....
He should have known. That's what so many horses have screamed at him. He was a harrower he could see the future, how come he didnt see this? Why couldn't the cards show this future for all? The questions the accusations, oh it was to much for him. Breathing became sharp as he tried to calm himself as he hide within the walls of his home. Slander was written all over it, he was so far on the bottom of the food chain, he swore he would never see the sun again. Yet somehow there small glimpse of hope, there was hope for others like him, as those that cared for the well being of all. There was hope and that was all he could hold on for right now. Ears flickered back as he thought of Zenith and pained him even more, was he such a disgrace to her, with such a mess would their arranged marriage end completely. He was feeling worthless and becoming his own worst enemy.
A shaky breath escaped his lips, stop Farsight... He paused and looked up from the windows and glanced outside, Today was the day, he could change fate, they all could. Nostrils flared as he tied his hair back, trying to look decent, gods he looked like a mess. A walking hot mess, but it would have to do. Letting out a soft sigh he would have to move quick, not all were safe, some were radicals others did anything to put the pegasi back in their place, even if that meant shedding blood. Today was a day he wished for a cloak something, Mental note a cloak would be asked for as a gift or something. Alright stop wasting time, he thought to himself and with out a minute to spare he rushed out of his home galloping as fast as his hooves could take him. The city was a mess a pure disaster, it was if everyone had riot, and no one knew what side to be on, rather to blame everyone instead. Panic rose in his throat to the point he was ready to vomit, but he kept moving, he had to get there, he had to see if Zenith was there, if anything he had one job he could still do right. He maybe frail and a pegasi, but he could make sure she made through it all in one piece.
Hooves pounded against the stand he could hear some shouts, but they faded away as he ran onwards, needing to be free of this area, wanting to be something more then a mess hiding in his home. He had to be something more then that surely. He was getting closer to the destination and that was when he noticed a familiar fellow. Daemyn, he nearly sighed with relief feeling better about this choice. "Dae." he called out as he rushed forwards to him and watched as the stallion knocked on the door. "Glad to see a familiar face in such times." He remarked as he tried to catch his breath, nestling his wings close to him as if in hopes he wings would just merge into him and hide away for now.

Serene l Brewer“Aye indeed we do… Oh Kali, I’m so glad you’ve made it here in one piece…” The pegasus ushered the young horse in. “Any sign of the others?” She questioned, motioning for Kali to make himself comfortable. “Ah, never mind, I shouldn’t worry so much...I’m sure they’ll be along shortly.” She offered a concerned smile. “Help yourself to anything on the table, I know it’s not much, but it’s the best I’ve got at the moment.” Another knock at the door caught the mare’s attention. “I’ll be right back child, just a moment.” She said reassuringly as she disappeared around the corner to answer the door once more. Opening the door, she was greeted with the familiar faces of two young stallions. “Daemyn, Farsight, I can not express how good it is too see you both! Please, come in, Kali is already here, and I imagine Tansy will be here soon for sure, along with Zenith.” Smiling warmly, she led them them to her small living room. “Please, sit down and make yourselves comfortable.” Serene found it almost silly, How she tried be be a good hostess even in the midst of all the chaos. So much so that she couldn’t hold back the soft chuckle that escaped her lips. Looking around the room she smiled, settling onto a large cushion herself. “I trust the journey here wasn’t too difficult for any of you?” Her voice soothing as she asked. No one seemed to be injured or in obviously bad shape, and that was something the mare was thankful for. She had to imagine there was much plaguing their minds though, no matter how whole their bodies seemed. Even she had been tortured by nightmares and flashing images of death that refused to give her a moment's peace... “How are you all holding up?” The striped mare’s question was gently inquisitive as she spoke, not wanting to force anyone to speak if they didn’t have the desire to share that which haunted them. Kalakara | BrewerKali settled into the other brewer's home, comforted by the familiarity of her work, even though Kali was caught in an unfamiliar home. His heart rate had still not returned to normal, though that was more than likely from the thoughts racing through his head rather than the actual running he'd done to get here. Now that they were assembling, it seemed all that much more real; they were here to do something against their once-trusted herdmates. What they decided today could impact Aquore for centuries to come. Did Kali really want the weight of that resting on his shoulders? Sometimes, he wasn't sure. At others, he felt as though a voice inside was urging him to follow the zebra Brewer in her path. Was it Cascade, urging things be put to right after the sacrifice? Or was it simply a hidden desire to see Inaria fall.
Kali had many reasons to dislike the city, the first being that under Talori's laws, he was an outcast, a pariah in his own skin. Trapped in the body of a mare, he would never be able to express himself when he felt it necessary, and this irritated him as much as a stone-bruised hoof. Not to mention that Odette - his old beau - and her stepmother had sold him out to the Inarian council. Odette and Kali had been found in a....compromising situation, by Odette's step mother. Instead of turning in her own 'kin', however, the wicked mare had ruined both Kali and Odette's lives in very different ways. She claimed that Kali had molested her poor, innocent step daughter. The council got involved, and Kali was packed off to prison, from which he'd only been released a few months ago. Odette had gone to Emperor Hawkeye as a concubine, so she would be out of her stepmother's way. Oh yes, Kali remembered that fiasco. And it certainly steeled his resolve to be here.
But not so much as the memory of that small seal-bay body falling over the cliff, following its own hacked off wings. Kali closed his eyes, trying to avoid the vision, but in the blackness, he only saw it more clearly. The small filly, crying as she plunged over the ledge. No amount of peaceful looks before she was tossed over could assuage the black overo's anger over this. Some said she had been at peace; some said she had come back greater than before. Kali said it was murder. Murder on the Divine's part for letting such an action be chosen without at least appearing to try and rectify the lottery. Murder by the Council, who seemed to take no action in this time of turmoil. The blood of that filly, as far as Kali was concerned, splashed the coat of every horse who did not recognize what a heinous act her death had been.
Kali snapped out of his thoughts, blue eyes dazed for a moment, as the other horses made their way into Serene's home. He did not recognize the male pegasus, and instead, his eyes were drawn to a familiar golden shape. Kali stared in surprise, trying to keep his jaw from dropping. "Dae," he said, his voice as high and feminine as ever, though tinged with shock. "I didn't think I would see you here." Kali felt a rush of different emotions flow over him. While he was glad that Dae seemed to feel the same as he about the sacrifice, it had been a while since his last meeting with his fiance, and a few things had changed. First, during the new year celebration (before the commotion had begun) Kali had gotten himself some new trinkets, namely a blue wave tattoo running up his right leg, and a series of udder piercings, neither of which he had shown to Dae yet. And secondly, he realized that this was the first time Dae had seen him when he did not identify as fully - or even mostly - female. Kali knew, from the reactions of very astute horses, that some of his mannerisms differed, no matter how hard he tried to hide them. He could only hope that Dae would not notice this; the other horses - the ones he did not know, would think nothing of it. But his fiance was worrisome.

Tansy | Cleric "Even from a dark night, songs of beauty can be born." - Mary Anne Radmacher
As a normal horse she had no problem navigating the streets after such a terrifying ordeal they all had witnessed. Her pro-pegasi feelings were also relatively unknown to most, but after the crowd had erupted few had taken note of Tansy helping those Pegasus about to reach safety. She would have to watch her back now, she knew that, but the fear rumbled through her spiked with rage at what happened to that poor child would ot sit quietly in her mind. She wouldn't let it anymore. Before... Before this she took heed to keep her opinions to herself feeling that the sacrifices were barbaric yet so many embraced them with fervor so she simply stood by and tried to choke down the guilt and sorrow. She had practice in that department. Tansy often thought if her dear Farsight were chosen her opinions may be spoken allowed but the child beat that possibility down. She would stand with her friend, with the winged horses. With her knowledge of life and healing she would help them however she could. With her head down low to hide her noticeable hair, she walked knowing her destination was close. "Tansy! " She heard someone bark and her heart stopped. Lifting her head she looked around her, hoping to the waters that it wasn't someone her knew her side of things yet. As much as she yearned to let everyone know, to make things change, now would not be the best time. " Tansy, oh thank Cascade " The voice again, twitching her ears to find the source of the call, there. She looked at the figure moving towards here, a cleric in training. With a puff of air she sighed in relief, the stallion was young and most likely did not know of Tansy's plans to aid the pegasi. Stopping, she waited for the brown male to reach her. "I'm glad your safe....."The voice trailed on but Tansy was not listening. She managed to get her new company to walk with her, ever nearing her destination. A snippet of the horses dialog brought her back. "... It was just a Pegasus. I don't understand why everyone is so upset" With a hard click Tansy stood fiercely, stopping her progress and startling the horse. Her ears were laid hard against her head and her tail erect as she stared with pinpoint eyes at the stallion. "Just a Pegasus " she croaked. "Just a Pegasus?! You sickening fool that was a baby!! " Tansy's voice grew with her rage as she focused in on him. The poor horse trembled and cowered as she came closer. "how dare you. They're horse flesh just like us, if only Cascade had granted thick headed fools like you a heart and a brain you'd see that! " Tansy fired insult after insult and hard falling words on the young horse. It startled to poor fella something fierce as Tansy had been known to be kind, rather soft spoken and never seemed to get mad. With a final snort to him, telling him to leave she glared into his darker eyes. With his own ears down in shock the young male scattered away. Now fuming Tansy redirected herself, head laid flat forward as her ears were backwards and begun her trek again. she finally reached where she was headed and clicked the door gently, trying to not look so flustered Word count : 553 Post count : 1

Daemyn | Guardian Post 2 Word Count: 594
Daemyn was visibly startled when his name rung out in the supposedly empty street. Even Calathea had missed the approach of the fleabitten pegasus and flapped her wings to try and keep her balance on a back which swung about swiftly to bring Daemyn face to face with the stranger. A small breath escaped him and his eyes softened the moment he recognized Farsight and he offered the other stallion a soft smile and dipped his head in greeting. Daemyn was terribly fond of the small pegasus, especially after the two had bonded over several drinks, spilling their woes about arranged marriages. They were both in the same tight spot, had mostly matching opinions, and after having nursed the hangover the following day, Dae felt a little bit better about his situation. Farsight has been an invaluable help. "The same to you, Fleabutt " he replied softly with a smirk curling his lip. There was enough tension in the air to cut with a knife, and Dae's response so far had been attempted diffusion via humor. Then the door swung open and he send Serene a warm smile. "I am glad to see you whole as well, Serene, thank you for having us. Your home is lovely, " he said, entering behind Farsight, closing the door softly before his blue eyes wandered to Kali. He felt... guilty. He'd never expected to see his betrothed at such a gathering. She had conducted herself with the utmost grace and proper behavior during the first meeting, painting an image of the traditional mare his mother longed to add to the family. When he'd slipped out of his home earlier this morning, the guilt had begun bubbling for deceiving his parents, but it rapidly spread to the though of his to-be bride, the perfect Talori mare. He wasn't just ruining himself if he got caught. The guilt should be lessening knowing that she was here by her own free will, but it didn't. "Kalakara, I, uhm... likewise, " he said softly, and then his mind went blank, unable to follow up with any other words as he found a spot stand awkwardly. He wasn't ready to relax or settle down, far too guarded and worried the door would be broken down any moment. Calathea remained silent on his back, only moving along his neck to perch between his ears as some living, colorful crown, ruffling her feather's mildly, and keeping bright, intelligent eyes on Kali. The bird was curious, no doubt about it, and so was Daemyn, catching an obvious glimpse of the large tattoo which now adorned the mare's one leg. His mother was going to have a heart-attack, she might even call off the wedding based on that 'small' alteration, but Dae was... intrigued. It was obvious that he stared at the blue design, lost in thoughts until Serene's voice snapped him back, darkening his cheeks faintly. "I encountered little of interest on my way, " he said, glad to occupy his mind with something else than the curious pull towards Kali. He wondered briefly how much of the real Kalakara he had actually witnessed and cleared his throat. "But the sounds of the riots are never far away. Doors broken down, fights... " he added then trailed off. He felt guilt for that as well, that he could not calm the streets, as if he, one lone Guardian, was supposed to be some sort of Super Horse. He was silent after that, gathering himself to once more appear strong and unbreakable, driving his emotions as deep down as possible.

Farsight || Harrower
As soon as Dae called him fleabutt, Farsight quickly stuck out his tongue and was ready to say something, yet the door swung open and Serene was there to greet the all. Farsight dipped his head to her. "It is good to see you as well Serene. Thank you." he remarked as he walked into her humble home. Eyes glanced about and when he spotted Kali, he quickly glanced at Dae, before moving himself to a part of the room were his back was guarded by the walls. Despite the safety here, he just seemed a bit calmer knowing his back was covered. Farsight listened to the two engaged ones speak, Farsight found it a bit painful, but surely everyone else will get a taste once Zenith arrived here. Though the mention of Tansy getting here lifted his spirits. She was a childhood friend, they got through tough times together and having her on thew team, made him feel like perhaps everything could be alright.
Eyes turned to Kalakara as he dipped his head to her. "I'm Farsight its a pleasure to met you, though wish we didn't have to meet in such times like these. Hope you have not been waiting long for all of us to arrive." He smiled to her, before his attention turned to Serene. Her questions made him look away from them all, trying to gather his thoughts, yet he merely sighed. "It went fine, still in one piece." he offered them a weak hearted smile. He had no desire to explain his home was wrecked by rioters and extremist alike. How he kept himself locked awya for days to just avoid the calls and cries of others. He looked around it seemed they all went quiet, the horror that happened still hung fresh within everyone's minds. "But we are here, and this can be the first step to change everything." he smiled brightly this time. He had to try to be positive he couldn't get swept into the blue once more. If anything he had to be it for himself otherwise he would be as worthless as before.
A knock was heard and Farsight eyed the door, wondering who exactly would it be at the door, Zenith or Tansy, or would it be both? Oh how would he handle both at one time? He can already see how things where playing out for Dae and Kalakara, gods help him, let this all not be as awkward as it can be. He let out a soft sigh and tried to steady his every rising of mixed emotions. Please for once Farsight get it together for the sake of everyone here and well mainly for yourself. Get it together.

Kalakara | Brewer The brewer's blue eyes took in the sight of his fiance, obviously flustered. But then again, who wasn't during this time of turmoil. Kali himself was only keeping his emotions under wraps from intense and constant practice. He knew that this day was going to be impactful for them all. And so, why wouldn't they be a little flustered? Kali's ears twitched as Dae recalled his journey to Serene's house. As a Guardian, Dae would be trained to pay attention to those kinds of things, Kali supposed. Kali, on the other hand, had focused intently on just getting to Serene's home without being discovered. All of the outside information had passed by him like water.
What did not, however, pass by him now was how Dae seuruptitiously attempted to get a better look at his blue wave tattoo. Wonder if he's even seen the piercings yet, Kali thought, amused at Dae's reaction. Oh sure, he had been - and acted - the perfect little lady on their first visit. But that was more because his mother, Amy, was hiding upstairs with a fresh cut willow switch than any other reason. There were still things, oh so many things, that Dae didn't know about his fiancee. And, Kali figured, there were more important things at hand right now; he could find out later.
Turning to the fleabitten pegasus, Kali dipped his head in greeting, repeating the name 'Farsight' to himself a couple times to make sure that it didn't slip his memory. "Kali," the black overo replied, making note of Farsight's comment about meeting under these circumstances. "I too wish that we could have been better met," he replied, before the pegasus turned away from him and to Serene. Kali was silent as Farsight told how his journey had been, and made his claim about their being able to change things. Very bold, Kali thought, pinning the fleabitten horse with a curious stare. So far, though he'd seen little of farsight, he liked the stallion.
As the conversation lulled, Kali took the opportunity to cross the room, standing near Dae's shoulder. Well, if he wanted a look at the tattoo, he's got one now, Kali thought wryly as she stood beside his betrothed. He couldn't put his hoof on it, but he felt different when near Dae. Probably because the golden horse was much larger and better at smashing enemies than Kali was. Or perhaps because he had been trained to act like a nice little lady, deferring to his husband-to-be for any and everything he might need. Whatever the reason, his nerves felt slightly less jangled.
Kali's ears swiveled as a soft knock on the door interrupted his musings about Dae. His head turned, and he watched intently, waiting to see who would be the next to arrive. He wondered how many horses would be arriving, and if he would know any of them, or be content with only knowing Dae and - vaguely - Serene. Whatever the case may be, Kali knew there was nothing he could do now but settle down and wait.

Tansy | Cleric "Even from a dark night, songs of beauty can be born." - Mary Anne Radmacher
As Tansy stood outside the door for some moments her ears swiveled to and from attempting to scoop up sounds from the air. Some were heard of course, far of shouts and few odd deep earth rumbles that signified movement. Here though the horses were sparse, few groups clung to each other walking closely attempting to achieve every day life. A few wide eyed ones rushed here and there likely on their way to spread news to important people. While others with darker eyes looked at Tansy for a moment and then passed on. Their intent some what more hazy to Tansy as she looked back to the door she hoped would open quickly. She heard some voices, familiar ones at that, inside and she took another glance to the area she was in. Far off she could see that darn apprentice and some beefy looking horses accompanying him. Cursing she gazed for a moment longer, sure they had not seen her as they spoke to one of the fleet footed runners about. Steeling her resolve she opened the shut door before her, stepping into the room that seemed to hold many horses about her. The room hot with bodies and a slight murmur as pleasantries were passed. She caught sight of Farsight and grinned wildly. She loved her dear friend, that was true and would do much for him. Her resolve to help the Pegasus fellows strengthened by bounds. Letting the door close softly behind her she paused for a moment before coughing as a means of bringing attention to her appearance. "um.... Hello" She didn't really know anyone here beyond Farsight. Tansy could recognize a few faces and even a few she had tended, but know them? No, she did not and a slight shake made the flank of her side twitch out of nervousness. Farsight || Harrower
Eyes looked to the mare as she spoke her name and walked over to be beside her fiance Dae. A brow arose a part of him itching to look at this cards. Why when things grew curious beyond his capacity did his legs itch to look at his cards? As if they would give him so clue on what was happening before him. Farsight tossed his head a bit, his locks falling from his messy hairstyle. "A pleasure Kali." he smiled to her charmingly, using his wings to help him dip into a bow to her. He always knew to be polite to make up for the fact of what he was. To be accepted one must go above and beyond what they thought he could be. Sure he maybe a Pegasi, but by the gods grace he would be something more then just fodder for the sacrifice, a mere peasant child of Alya. No, there was so much more to life then that. His cards have shown that to everyone there is more to life then what they see. Surely it would be the same for him?
Eyes flickered to the windows, and his ears tilted back a bit, he swore he heard more, and his eyes darted back to the door. He nearly jumped from his skin as the door opened, though a huge smile grew on his face. "Tansy!" he remarked, perhaps a bit to loudly, but his excitement and joy was plain to see upon his features. "Oh Tansy come in please! Oh I am so glad you made it here." He smiled all the more, though concern instantly formed onto him. "Are you alright? Did you make it here fine?" Tansy was a long childhood friend, someone that helped him from sinking into the waves of depression, they saved each other that day on the beach, or so he'd like to think. He cared for her deeply, and to have her here with them all. Surely there wasn't anything they couldn't tackle. their group was looking more like a team ready to revolt, ready to help aid those that didnt stand a chance.
Yet the team was lacking someone, Zenith. He gulped faintly as he eyed the windows. Was she alright, was she already here hiding? He wasn't sure but it all made him quite uneasy. Farsight knew so little of her, yet they were promised the future of forever together. Though with everything that happened, would she be in trouble thanks to him? Would they see her as a means to end, due to her fiance, but mostly to her relation with Emperor Hawkeye? Surely this could be all disastrous for her, and he couldn't, no he wouldn't let her blood be spilled at all. He wouldn't live with himself if it came to that. Stop. He thought bitterly to himself, his mind getting the best of him, keep it together. Just breath surely she will be here soon. Attention turned back to Farsight and he smiled lightly to her once more. "Welcome the group" he remarked looking to them hoping they would introduce themselves. He rather not be the host to introduce everyone here. Surely they would all have to talk to one another, after all they all were on the mission and they needed to know each other just a bit.

Kalakara | Brewer Kali raised an eyebrow as Farsight bowed down to him; it was surprisingly gentlemanly of the stallion, even for a Talorian. It was impressive, even if Kali wasn't the biggest fan of the 'gentlemanly' attitude. He wondered why this small pegasus was so on top of his manners, even more so than most horses Kali had met. It seemed to him that there might be some personal reason behind it, but Kali would have to satisfy himself with mere speculation, as he couldn't imagine asking Farsight that question in reality.
His thoughts, however, were disrupted by the arrival of a mare, who apparently was named Tansy. Farsight seemed quite enthused to see the mare, and Kali's lips twitched into a small smile as he noticed how enthusiastically the pegasus greeted his friend. He quickly brought her into not only the room, but the conversation, asking Tansy how her journey had been and generally fawning over her as a friend should. It sent a small pang of jealousy through Kali to watch Farsight so interested in his friend. She remembered a time when she had a friend like he had. But that had been back in the days with Odette. And Kali refused to think about the bay mare now, just as he refused to think of her at any other time. But today, especially, they had more important things to discuss.
Noticing that Tansy was not being introduced, Kali realized that he would have to speak up if he wanted the mare to know who he was. "Welcome, Tansy," he said, dipping his head to her. "I'm Kali...Dae's betrothed," he said, nodding to the golden stallion beside him. His eyes focused on the spotted mare, and he smiled a little, showing her that he was friendly, and willing to work with her in this clandestine meeting.

Tansy | Cleric "Even from a dark night, songs of beauty can be born." - Mary Anne Radmacher
At first she succumbed to the wave of fear she usually got from being around strangers. But her time as a healer had hardened her to be able to take the anxiety between her teeth and crush it like a bit, still there but ignorable non the less. Her eyes slipped from her friend Farsight for a moment until she heard his sweet voice call to her. Her ears swirled forward in a quick happy gesture to him. He asked her simple questions though her nerves and excitement mixed with the anger and fear she had just stepped away from and remained quiet for a moment. Tansy often took a moment before reply as to gather her ever wondering thoughts. Some people took it as her mentally being slow but Farsight knew better and she grew more comfortable and just as she was about to reply she caught the flicker of Farsight's eyes filled with worry at the window and she knew Zenith would be coming and he feared for her lateness. She pushed her muzzle close to his neck and pushed him reassuringly hoping that it lent him some comfort. As she nodded to his welcome another horse joined their little pocket of talk. Beautiful and decorated with tattoo and some lower piercings she looked very unique. Tansy was sure she had never met this horse that greeted her kindly and it helped ease the vanner even more. Farsight's own inquiry to her wellbeing on her way here repeated by this mare who then introduced herself at Kali, someone's betrothed. Lucky boy She thought absently and tipped a slight bow to her. Again her words were slow to reach air but they came. Once they did her voice held a soft yet clear and rather pleasant tone, clipped with a soft unidentifiable accent, not heavy but just enough to make her different . "Ah, tis a pleasure ta meet you dear. I'm Tansy. " The vanner mare shifted one ear to keep a notice out for any semblance of combining to start important discussions but for now, until they were all here, she was happy with this small group and their slight babble. But as her mind swam she spoke again answering the question bother her companions asked of her. "well, ta be truthful I did have a spot of trouble. A Cleric to be may have touched a nerve aye? I may have got a bit testy and before I let me self in I saw him again walking the streets with some rather meaty muscle making inquiries. They did not spot me before I entered though. " she reassured them and looked back to Farsight with glittering blue eyes "Both your travels were safe I do hope. No one is injured?" She glanced around at the rest of them with a knowledgeable eye in search of pain to be eased. --- Word Count : 491 Post Count : 3

Eyes watched as the two mares interacted and he couldn't help, but smile brightly even in dark times such as these. If everyone here could get along, could find a common goal and plan, surely all of this could go smoothly! He knew Tansy was a cleric, and Dae was a guardian, as to what Kali's gift was that could help even the playing fields, well he was unsure of that, but he did grow ever so curious. As for him? He really wasn't sure what he could offer, as they merely seemed to offer him sanctuary, a safe place a purpose. That was good enough for him. He smiled as he felt the the nudge of Tansy and he couldn't help but nip at her mane playfully. Even without words she seemed to know what to do help get him out of the funk. Though as Tansy spoke of her travels here, he couldn't help but suddenly frown. Thats grave news to here, weren't clerics spared from such treatment, or possible treatment? It seemed the weather matched the the moods of everyone here.
Storms clouds filled the air, it would rain on and off. Farsight was uncertain on how he felt about it all. Perhaps Cascade had made a mistake, and now guilt was eating up the goddess alive? He doubted it, oh gods he doubted it. What deity would ever assume they did wrong? Shaking his head he looked to Tansy. "At least you made it here in one piece, we all have, thankfully." he smiled softly looking to everyone and offering them a smile. They were safe, at least for now. Lifting his head up he gazed at them all, they still were waiting on one,and each thunder that cried out was like panic rising in his throat. Zenith, where are you? He thought almost miserably to himself. "How has everything been where each one of you are? Many rioters?More extremists?" he asked them curiously. It would be good to know what streets were more and less chaotic then others. "Where I live to the north in the surronding villages, well its a mess honestly. I've never seen anything like this. No one wants to trust each other, and it feels all to much like the mare hunt." he remarked, wondering if any have heard of the tale, how lone horses hunt down mares and kill them. He didn't know all the details, but a mere wanderer in town, a bard told stories of such things, and somehow this was almost feeling the same. Too many quick to pass judgement before even knowing. There was always three sides to a story, theirs, yours and the truth.
None the less surely this was needed information to all in the room? Maybe it wasn't Farsight was feeling a bit uneasy as he looked around the room. Each to a equine he knew of knew of. All of them were here for a reason, they all made the choice, They choose to do something, and that was of course better than doing nothing. Farsight was feeling a bit more anxious as he rustled his feathered wings a bit, readjusting them a bit before quickly nestling them close to his sides.

Kalakara | Brewer Kali listened intently as Tansy began to speak, wondering what sort of accent it was that tinged the mare's voice. It wasn't obvious, but it was there just enough to add an air of mystery to the Vanner mare. Kali was glad to see that the mare was warming up to the group as well; he hoped that she was finding her ground amongh the others, as any doubt would not bode well for the group in their coming activities - whatever they may be. His attention turned, however, to Farsight, as he was the next to speak, answering Tansy's inquiry about their individual journeys.
"Inaria's....a mess," the overo said, thinking of his small, cozy shop with his quarters at the back, so far away and so unwelcoming now. "There are horses fighting everywhere. I haven't seen a pegasus in days, excluding present company," he added, nodding his head to Farsight and Serene. "There's rioting, fighting in the streets. I've even heard tell of some horses looting, taking advantage of the chaos for their own gain," he added, his voice tinged with sadness at the state his home was in. Despite his opinions on the Talorians and their ways, namely the Council, he felt strongly about the place he called his home. To see it torn apart was difficult for him, as he was sure it would be for the others. "Even when I'm gathering ingredients, there's talk," Kali said, thinking about all the hateful conversations he'd overheard as of late while gathering supplies for potions and brews.
Turning his attention to Farsight, Kali cocked his head, looking curiously at him. The stallion kept mostly to himself, and hadn't heard tell of the Mare Hunt, so he was confused as to what Farsight alluded. "Mare hunt?" he asked, his ears pricked forward with curiosity as he stared at Farsight, hoping that he, or someone else who had heard the tale, might explain.

Tansy | Cleric "Even from a dark night, songs of beauty can be born." - Mary Anne Radmacher
With an ear contasntly turned for some sort of order in the room full of horses, her other one kept keen to her companions. Her full bodied mane fluffing around her skull face markings, gem blue eyes look out from falls of multicolored hair. "Aye, it's been rough bit ah have lucky out and about though . Mostly been left t'alone due to my job I think mostly" Tansy accent never throbbed but was always something unique to her. The vanner mare wasn't not even to sure on where she got it. Some said it was her foster mothers doing thanks to being a foreigner and it seemed to be a blend of a different location and Talori's own dictions. (Take as a very vague guttural accent mixed with high lilts. Often time Italian families that moved to America and had kids, the kids would have a mix of American twang and raspy Italian accents. It's what Tansy has) Her worried eyes followed Farsight's gaze to the window again and she too had a flicker of worry to her friends betrothed. Things were eerily calm here and it grew heavy on the thick girls shoulders. Her ear twitched at the tales of the mare hunt, I shiver echoing over her ivory and ebony coat as the muscles twitched. Others loved to fling the idea of sending Tansy to the hunting grounds when they were wrapped in their hurtful attacks on the orphaned vanner. She knew the tales well. "the mare hunts are sick" She scoffed with a bit of anger but something as well, fear. She did not elaborate as she tipped her muzzle down to let her eyes fall into shadow under her lush hair. She'd let Farsight enlighten her new friend. --- Word Count : 302 Post Count : 4

Eyes looked to Tansy and he felt a pang of guilt, he shouldn't have said anything, but how it was outside, they were hunting down any involved with the rebellion or any that helped in killing the babe. Outside this house it was a free for all, all you had to be was quicker than someone else to remain alive. Attention turned to Kali as they asked on what the mare hunt was. But she lived in Inaria a place Farsight only worked at from time to time. Perhaps the tales of the outside did not reach all. He cleared his throat and looked to them. maybe known of them much about it, but what that old vagabond told him, always stayed fresh in his mind.
"The Mare Hunt, well its not that its called, its something else, but I can't recall. Yet it happens around this time, on the first snow of winter or something close to that. Anyways, there are equine out there, that serve this false god. They believe to eb real, but we all know the true gods. Yet these band of Equines, Cultists, they take it upon themselves to hunt down a mare, to play games to drive her into madness so that she gracefull succumbs to death. They play this until dawn, the oly horse told me. The hunt you down until you wish for death. They say you go to their God in death, but I think they need an excuse to kill." he remarked sadly, odd how their sacrifices and their own, well it didnt seem to much different. Except did their own herd do it more?
He shook his head a bit. "I don't mean we ourselves are doing this, but how they are all acting out there. Quickly turning on each other. They all rather blame someone then themselves for what has happened. We all let this happen, and who is stopping it?" he asked them all looking at eahc horse. No one, that was the answer. The council hid in their chambers "talking" more like plotting, Farsight assumed. "It's only us, we maybe a small team, but we have to end this. We have to find a way to stop the madness thats happening." he was endearing with his words, truly believeing that they could be the ones to change the tides. They could distrupt the flow of things and change things anew. They could do it, no they would do it. "We just need a plan and I know we can change everything."

Daemyn | Guardian Post 3 Word Count: 245
Daemyn felt a light heat spread along his skin as Kalakara got up to move to his side. It was an odd mixture of spiking anxiety for a situation which he had been unable to predict, namely her being present, and relief that she was alright. He might not have known the overo mare long enough to form an actual bond, but that didn't mean her safety hadn't crossed his mind. However brief their first meeting had been, Daemyn had still left Kalakara's home feeling that a friendship was beginning to grow. One blond eyebrow arched briefly as the guardian thought he caught a glimpse of something glinting where it shouldn't. He couldn't ask, he sure as heck couldn't dip his head to get a better look and he didn't quite have the imagination to suggest what he might have seen. Instead he dipped his head to Kali's level and kept his voice low, explaining briefly that Farsight and he were friends. As the conversation took off Daemyn fell silent, most of his focus on the door and that which he could see through the windows. He'd only jerk back to the now if addressed by name, trusting that Calathea, still perched between his ears, would gather any important information from the chatter, and pass it on later. He was terribly tempted to move to the door and guard it properly, feeling a strong drive to keep the small gathering safe from the terrible chaos outside.

Serene l Brewer /// Zenith l Brewer The striped mare let out a sigh of relief as Tansy made her way around the corner. Serene nodded in acknowledgment of the Cleric, smiling warmly as she welcomed the black and white horse into her home. Settling onto a large cushion, she listened to her younger companions discuss the current happenings of Hireath, focused mostly on Inaria, but not neglecting other topics of note. Serene looked at each of them, a sad look crossing her features as she was reminded once again of the chaos they were being forced to live in. They were all so young, so undeserving of what could befall them. The pegasus mare opened her mouth to speak when the door flew open only to slam shut once more. Peering around the corner was the last of the horses she'd invited. Zenith rolled into the room, spotting Farsight almost immediately. "Sorry I'm a bit late." They murmured softly, their voice cracking ever so slightly. "I ran into a bit of trouble..." The bright appaloosa tossed their forelock aside to reveal a few deep gashes and bruises on the side of their face. Serene gasped in shock, rushing to Zenith's side. "What happened child?" She asked rather frantically. "Tansy dear, could you assist me for a moment?" She asked the cleric, worry filling her voice as she studied the wound on the younger horse's head. Zenith found themself still rather shaken up by the whole experience and couldn't quell the anxiety that rose up inside. They were shaking almost uncontrollably as the pegasus mare examined them, panic still creating the irrational flight or fight response that the horse hated and had to actively fight against just to get through the day. Biting their lip, Zen locked their eyes on Farsight, tears beginning to threaten spilling down their cheeks. They wanted to voice what had happened, so explain all that their assailants had said and done, but they found themself at a loss of words, only able to stand there, as if frozen in space and time. Serene found herself worrying again for the safety of her tiny flock, hoping those who had injured Zen hadn't followed the young horse to her home. How long would it be until they were found? Turning to the small group, Serene's face grew darkly serious. " We must come to a decision concerning where will will stay until this blows over....It's too dangerous here for you now.." She paused, looking around the room. "I have provisions that would last us at least up to a week... If anyone knows of someplace rather safe and secure we could go at least for the time being, I'm all ears."

Kalakara | Brewer
Kali's eyes widened at the mention of the mare hunt, and he felt a shiver go through him. "T-thats horrible," he said, his expression one of shock and disgust. It infuriated him that it was considered acceptable by any horse to do such terrible things to a mare. And while he hoped it would be nothing more than a scary story told to foals, he knew better about the morals of horses than to believe such a thing. He could not, however, continue to discuss the subject, as another horse burst through the door, injured and bleeding.
Kali's ears pricked, and he took a step towards the newcomer, trying to stay out of the way as Tansy and Serene rushed to the mare's aid. As of yet, Kali had not seen Zenith before, and he found stealing curious glances at the other mare's mobility gear, trying not to stare at her. He knew how rudely the mare might see this, so he forced his curiosity aside, focusing instead on what he could do to aid the others.
As it seemed that Tansy and Serene had everything under control as far as caring for Zenith's physical wounds, Kali put his mind instead to solving the issue of where they could possibly go. It appeared, from Zenith's injured state, and her warning, that the group had been followed, or at least enemies to the group had been alerted to their presence. Brows furrowing, Kali wondered where they could go that would be safe.
"As long as no one opposes to a little fresh air," Kali said, somewhat sarcastically, nodding out a window to the stormy skies, "there's a place I know of. It's not ideal that it's not an actual building," he said, cocking one hoof as he spoke, a habit he had when in deep thought, "But quite a ways from Inaria, to the southeast there's a place - near the wilds - that I go. There's a small shelter, not much, but there are plenty of trees to keep the rain off. And few ever cross paths with me there," he offered. Kali wasn't exactly comfortable offering directions to his secret place - the little hidey-hole he ran to when he needed solace from life in Inaria, but he knew that the greater good of the mission was worth more than his own personal feelings.

Farsight || Harrower
Eyes glanced downwards, though he instantly jumped as the door opened, and there she was Zen. He was about to smile, to speak on how happy he was to see her here. She spoke about how she was late, oh how that didnt matter, he was just so glad... to see her here? That's when everything changed, that reality began to show its true colors. He looked to her and knew something was wrong, before someone spotted the wounds, before his heart dropped into his stomach. The wish of her bangs and the gasps of others all confirmed what he felt. Eyes looked to her as Serene called Tansy to help, there was no better Cleric he would want helping Zen, than Tansy. He wanted to say something, words of comfort, but by the gods what could he say to make anything easier.
Her eyes found his once more, and it shattered him to pieces. It was as if he was looking at a stranger now. What had they done to her to make her this way? To make her so spooked, she dared not to utter a word now? All he knew was that it was his duty to help her, and here he had failed her. Oh why didn't he go to find her before making sure his own hide. While all along he should have searched for her, to find her to make sure she made it out safe. Though here she was living proof he failed her. Strike one. He thought to himself. Hooves and soft steps carried him forwards to her, so she stood before her, but allowed Tansy enough room to work if needed. "Zenith." he spoke to them softly, voice a gentle whisper. He smiled to her trying his best to not looked as panicked as he was feeling, The closer he was the easier he saw the damage done, the bruises the gashes, how others quickly turned to the monsters. It made him want to wretch with disgust, who could they harm her, what had she ever done to deserve this, or anyone for a matter of fact.
"You made it here. We got you." he reassured her whispering so softly only those that hung to close might be able to here. He gently brushed his nose against her own in a comforting manner, the slight touch between them made him nervous and jittery as he wasn't so used to displaying affection, but it seemed now was a good time to adjust to such things. Attention swirled to Kali as they spoke of a safe place. Near the wilds. He looked to the rest of them and nodded. "It sounds good to me, anywhere away from here is a good plan." he remarked looking to them. Though a part of him wish he could do more then hide away, to be pawns of the sea once more. Something had to change the tides, yet what. Farsight looked back to Zenith offering a small smile just for her. His goal for right now was to make sure Zenith and his friends made it safe. If pegasi caused the issue, he would try to fix it all. Still even know he tried to be the one to show the world he wasn't broken shells upon the shore, he was more then just a hopeful sacrifice. He was so much more then that. "We must go quickly. Let me know if you need me to get anything." he remarked as he had everything he brought with him a small backpack that was attached to one of his wings and safe hidden beneath his folded wings.

Tansy | Cleric "Even from a dark night, songs of beauty can be born." - Mary Anne Radmacher
Tansy felt herself quiver as her dear friends bride-to-be showed the wounds on the side of her head. How she hated for others to feel pain. It had been the reason she decided to focus on studying and becoming a Cleric. Although she laughed at the thought of herself being entirely pure, her mind was and that was all that mattered to the gypsy vanner. She scurried forward and nuzzled Zenith's head to the side as the others began to converse. She needed to get a good look at the injuries before she could assess what to do. 'Damn it. Damn it all' Cursing to herself she felt the bare spot on her shoulders that often had herb bag and medical supplied strapped to her. She had left them in her home to make her travel less suspicious and now she regretted it. Still, she looked over the injuries carefully. The gashes could use a few stitches to pull together and prevent scarring but nothing that would not heal easily once cleaned out. The bruising did not seem all to serious although surely painful. Looking at Zen now as a being rather than a patient she spoke softly to her "What harmed you sweetling?Returning to her stance as doctor and patient she prodded the deep brusing softly and murmured. "This will hurt a bit but I need you to tell me if there is any sharp pains, not just dull throbs and aches"Cascade forbid this poor mare had facial fractures beneath the wounds. As she waiting for Zenith's reply she continued to think on what to do without her medical kits. Someone could quickly go and fetch it, most likely herself, or she could make due with what there may be in the building. "I left my supplies at home Zenith... Do you mind the scars or do you want them stitched?" Turning slightly to the bustling crowd speaking of finding somewhere to hide out she took on a more commanding voice. One she used often to whip clerics-in-training and assistants into action. "Is there any Parsley... or Cabbage.. or even lavender here? It will help ease the bruises" Tansy stood solid, not letting the distraction of the discussion reach her until her new patient was tended to. Word Count : 380 Post Count : 5

Serene l Brewer /// Zenith l Brewer
Zenith stood, quietly shaking as Tansy and Farsight swarmed to thier side. Attention was something of a foriegn concept to the young horse and it made them even more anxious. "Zenith. You made it here. We got you." Farsight's voice was mildly soothing, and though surprised by his touch, Zen took some comfort in it. They winced slightly as Tansy began trying to examine their wounds and figure out just how bad they were. "What harmed you sweetling? This will hurt a bit but I need you to tell me if there is any sharp pains, not just dull throbs and aches." Her voice was gentle and soft, and her use of the word 'sweetling' reminded Zen of the Divine. Then again, The appaloosa supposed it was only natural that some of Eve's clerics would pick up on her way of speaking, no matter how obnoxious it was.
"It was a group of cloaked horses...They were looking for pegasi..." Zenith paused, glancing at Farsight for a moment. "They...They thought you'd be with me...When you weren't, they tried to beat you're whereabouts out of me." The appaloosa shook in fear at the memory, only to cringe as pain shot through thier face. "That was a sharp pain." They said biting the inside of their cheek. Anxiety still curdled thier insides, making them feel sick and rather light headed. If it hadn't been for their mobility gear, it was likely Zenith would have collapsed in a mixture of panic and vertigo.
Tansy's voice broke into their thoughts once more "I left my supplies at home Zenith... Do you mind the scars or do you want them stitched?" The copper horse looked at the black and white horse, shaking their head slightly. "It's fine.... A few scars won't kill me." They looked over to face Farsight. "Unless they'll bother you."
"Is there any Parsley... or Cabbage.. or even lavender here? It will help ease the bruises" Tansy asked gently. "Darling, I'm a brewer. I likely have whatever herbs you need over in the next room. Feel free to grab whatever you need, and more. They may come in handy later." Serene spoke quietly, trying to take her mind off the horse she had practically raised. Tansy was one of the most talented healers she knew, and Zen was in capable hooves with her, She knew that.
Even still, Serene ruffled her feathers nervously as Kali spoke, trying not to dwell on the chaos outside. "There's a place I know of. It's not ideal as it's not an actual building, But quite a ways from Inaria, to the southeast there's a place . There's a small shelter, not much, but there are plenty of trees to keep the rain off. And few ever cross paths with me there." Serene nodded, listening as Farsight also agreed with Kali's suggestion. "If no one is opposed, that sounds like as good a place as any. At least we'd be safer there than we are here..." She paused glancing over at Zenith worriedly. "As far as keeping the place secure, we should rely on Daemyn's expertise." She cast the Guardian a reassuring smile as she spoke.

Checkpoint 2// As you settle on a plan, you hear screaming outside Serene's home. It seems some of the extremists have taken it into their hooves to begin hunting down pegasi and their sympathizers. Will you try to hide, or will you make a break for it? Take care not to be seen!

Eyes watched as Tansy worked on Zenith, he winced as she did as if feeling the pain she was enduring. He looked to her and pain rippled through him, he didn't want this to be their second meeting. Didn't they have plans to meet up again, to paint and get to know each other better? How had so much changed since then? Why did it feel like everything around him was crashing down around him. Suddenly it did. Her words hit him like a large a wave wave of the ocean unforgiving and powerful. They were hunting Pegasus down like they were a plague that needed to be disposed of. They found her and assumed he would be ther, he should have. Maybe she would have been saved? He could have went with them and saved her from all of this pain. She could have made it here with out that pain that dwelled within her physically and mentally. He wasn't there so they beaten her down for information on where he was be. This was the mare hunt, but Pegasus and Pegasus lovers were the victim of choice. Eyes met hers as she asked if he would be bothered by the scars. "Zenith.." his voice trailed off as he looked to her and offered a tender smile. "They don't bother me at all." He looked to her and inside he knew this would be his reminder how he he was supposed to be there for her and he let her down. He was supposed to protect her and yet here she was protecting him. Strike two.
Farsight pulled his attention to Serene and the others, they had to act quickly, surely they would follow her life tracks. They would find them all. He couldn't swallow the guilt away thanks to what serene and himself was they put them all in danger. A scream shattered the silence and Farsight instantly looked to the door and Zenith. They had to move now. "We can't hide it out here we have to go where Kali knows. We must slip out the door and get moving." Eyes narrowed as he looked to them all. "If they notice us, we'll need to get the ones that can help aid everyone out of there quickly." Eyes looked to each equine and offered a smile. He wasn't as useful as the rest of them and surely they all knew it and they must accept it all now. He was a harrower, but by cascades grace they were all so much more. So much more then what extremist could do to them. He wouldn't let them harm them all, not again.
"None the less we best get moving. Kali first then Zenith, then Dae then so forth. I'll take up the rear. I know the wilds a bit just incase." He looked to Zenith and flashed her a small smile. "We've got each other. We'll make it out safe." Eyes watched them all hoping the stress of it all would be to much for others to argue. He knew the risk and so did they all. Kali had to lead she was their guide to sanctuary. Their hope. Zenith had to go second, bloodline to Hawkeye and the fact she was wounded and her mobility could cause issues on the way. She couldn't get left behind in second place. Tansy, a cleric too good to spoiled by the wars the extremist had deemed for them. She was swift with healing and could be swift with kicks. She us the added muscle to keep the team alive. Then Serene, a master brewer, wise and quick witted. She brought them all together here and she would he the one to keep them together. Zenith needed her. Of course there was Dae, the guard with a heart of pure gold. He was his comrade, drinking companion. He would protect them no doubt in his mind on that. Dae would make sure they stayed safe through the travel. Last but not least there was Farsight, he was swift and clever and of course impulsive as can be surely it would help him here and now. Farsight wouldn't go down without a fight. If worst comes to were he would be the few spare seconds to save them all. If anything he would be the one give them what they needed.
A soft breath escaped his lips as he eyed the window thankful he was small framed and nimble, he could easily break though incase there was trouble as soon as they opened the doors. He would lure the extremist, cause a scene. He wouldn't let his friends due for helping his kind, the kind that these extremist deemed worthy of death. Ears pinned down as he gave them all a quick glance they had to move now and Farsight was ready for anything. He wouldn't let his friends go down, he'd save them. His wings shuffled and he felt the pack where his cards laid. A familiarity running through him. Yes, he would save them, he would become the card he loved so dearly. The Paladin.

Daemyn | Guardian Post 4 Word Count: 605
Daemyn knew the moment Zenith rolled into the room that something was amiss. She didn't even have to speak, instinct told him in less than a second. He tensed up, ears perking forward stiffly, but Zenith was soon surrounded by those better equipped to deal with the situation. He did not wish to add to the anxiety and thus remained silent, but Kali would no doubt hear the grinding of teeth and slow exhale of breath, both meant to keep the large stallion's tempter in check. It was discipline that kept him rooted to the spot when his heart roared for instant retribution. He took deep breaths as he saw bruising and red gashes, his own skin twitching while he desperately sought to stay in control. Calathea gave one flat ear a soft nip, enough to have Daemyn force them back up. Another deep breath followed, a deep rumble in his chest as he listened to Kalakara sharing knowledge of a safe location. Zenith was cared for and Daemyn send a reassuring smile her way, unable to do anything to aid in her recovery. What he could do, was make sure that this tiny, scared group remained safe. His mind churned as the scream from outside broken the relative silence of the room, and while Farsight spoke, taking it upon his own fleabitten shoulders to organize the group, Daemyn crossed the room in mighty strides and stood at the door. He respected Farsight, respected his attempt to keep them all positive and knew they would likely need his chipper words. He did, however, not agree with his plan and although Daemyn meant no disrespect and certainly didn't want to insult the harrower, now was not the time to carefully pick his words. He needed to be direct and precise, and if he stepped on feelings in the process he could ask forgiveness later when they were all safe. When the large palomino spoke there was no doubting that he was issuing orders, and the uncharacteristic hardness in his eyes revealed just how deadly their situation was. Daemyn had to believe they were likely to be slaughtered if the wrong hooves caught them or he'd act too soft, and he would sooner offer his own blood than see anyone else's spilled in the streets. "We leave now. You will tend to Zenith's wounds when we are safe and no sooner. I exit first, guarding the street and I make up the rear, " he started, pausing a moment to stare at Farsight, making sure he understood. "Kali takes point, she knows the way. You two keep your wings tucked in tightly, ya hear? And Zenith, the moment your gear causes any issues or slows you down, you let me know. If necessary you will drop it all and I carry you. Tansy, you stay close to her. Take nothing with you. We've not the time to gather supplies. Do you all understand? "He waited only to hear or see them affirm his orders and then he shouldered the door open and slipped out into the street, blue eyes darting left and right. He saw no one yet, but there were angry voices carried on the wind, suggesting that the aggressors were not far away. "Eyes in the sky, " he muttered softly to Calathea and the parakeet took off down the street, only rising high into the skies when she was far from Serene's home. If any were to spot her and draw the conclusion of her being a familiar (which in itself was far-fetched but not impossible), she would seem to have risen from a far different location.

Kalakara | Brewer Kali was vaguely aware of what was going on around him. Tansy and Serene rushed to the injured Zenith's side, but Kali stayed close to Dae, knowing that if he were to reach out now, he would only entangle the two mares and make their task just that much more difficult. He assumed that he would wait with Farsight and Dae until the other three horses were ready to head out, and then they would embark for Kali's secret place. However, that was not to be. As Tansy was asking about scars, and Kali was drifting into a mental lull, filled with nothing important, a horrid shriek broke the silence, and pulled Kali back into reality. It felt like ice water had been poured down his spine, and his ears lay flat to his skull as he attempted to shut out the terrible sound.
A sudden film of fear crossed Kali's mind, shutting out his mental functions for a moment. He was not in any way, shape or form ready for battle, and he felt himself freezing in place as the sounds drew closer. It was only when Dae's voice cut through, ordering horses to and fro that he began to thaw. The movement was slow at first, as synapses struggled to process what was happening, but as instinct took over, Kali was able to internalize Dae's orders and follow them to the letter. He gathered himself and leaped the threshold of Serene's home, landing on the street outside.
It terrified Kali to think that he was going to run point on this mission; the idea of being the head of the group, in charge of making sure no one got lost, as well as being the first to meet enemies head on, was a responsibility that quickened another shot of fear in Kali. But he knew that Dae was right; no one else could do it. Only Kali knew the location of their new meeting place, and only he could lead them to safety. Gritting his teeth, the black overo glanced over his shoulder, making sure that everyone was trundling outside before taking off, moving at a brisk pace, his eyes darting to and fro as he attempted to catch a glimpse of anyone or anything that would harm the group. He watched as Dae's familiar disappeared ahead of him, into the clouds, and suddenly ached for his own familiar, who he'd given free reign that day as a special treat. The empty place beside him where Amalya strode seemed all that much more real, and Kali wished that the cat's teeth and claws were there as well, for extra protection. But, he would have to hope he and the jaguar could be reunited at a later time. Right now, all that Kali needed to focus on was leading the group to safety. So, he put his head down, and began just that task.
