CIARDHA
Hide your eyes, darling, people can see your heart through them.
1 | 355 The air was sharp against the stallion's thin coat as he walked along the beach, his hind hooves dragging soft lines in the sand as he went. The moon hung high over his head, stars twinkling as he passed beneath them. The sound of the ocean quietly crashing against the beach, only to withdraw as quickly as it came, was the only sound that could be heard over the councilman's slow steps. He typically had a decent pep in his step, but after a long day at work, his bones were weary and hooves ached. Nothing could keep him away from the night, though. Sleep would waste such a beauty.
Stopping on occasion, he would glance across the ocean, only letting it get as close as to touch his shoes. While he was a hippocampus, the ocean was not his home. He would travel through it enough to go to the underwater city, but he did not trust the open waters. Not since it took her away him. Even unknown waters such as the shallows by the beach were not to be trusted.
Pressing his lips together, the stallion let the memories flood him; Sashiel and him sitting by the water at night, the only time the two of them had free time, and her picking seashells from sand and telling him all about each and every one. A small smile found his features as the thought, his gaze dropping to the shells at his hooves. They were all small, dainty, just like she had been.
A slender ear twitched back as he heard something hit the water, his hooves spinning him around toward the noise. He caught a glimpse of a fish's tail just as it disappeared back into the shallows. Chuckling to himself, he took in a breath to help slow his racing heart. However, in his turn, he noticed a shadow in the distance. Curiosity got the best of him, and soon the stallion was making his way toward it.
It didnt take him long to realize, this shadow was not just a shadow, but another equine- a hippocampus, just like him.

Ysolda
Her work is never done, perhaps she should be sleeping, but the night was calling her name. The stars sparkling a pattern was seen within them. Her heart and brain worked in unison as they both knew, there would be no sleep now. Ysolda was quick to grab her bag from her house and loaded with books, papers, quills and some bottles of dark ink. With her mind made up, and heart yearning for the stars Ysolda rushed out into the night. A smile growing on her lips as her small frame had to double its pace to make it to the ocean in a decent time. Curse her small stature she thought as her legs tired a bit, but her two steps, made up for the single step of others it seemed. Still she was out among the sand, but as she looked to the sky, she felt as if she could swim within it, and she felt for once today, the stress roll of her shoulders, knots she did not know she carried seemed to unwind. Yes, the stars her passion, her craving, her obsession.
Setting up her stuff she made quick work of creating a little space for herself on the beach and soon with a large folded piece of paper, she undid it and began to map the constellations she saw within the sky. Even creating a few of her own, noting the patterns perhaps others could not fathom. Looking to the stars was like looking at old friends, they had stories she wish she could hear, for these stars have seen, lifetimes before her. With a satisfied sigh, she began working, opening up books to certain stars as well as mapping them out on her own large paper. She kept track of them when she could noting certain things, even counting the stars that have vanished all together a mystery in themselves.
So absorbed in her work she did not even think others would be around. She was mapping out a star and tracing the patterns of its movement, when she heard something rustling. Large ears perked forwards and flickered about taking in the sound. "Someone is here?" she spoke to herself, as if afraid to ask anyone else for a reply. Head turned and that is when she spotted him and her brow arose. What was he doing out here so late? she wondered as her mind began to race forwards calculating the possible reasons why, her mind seeming to dive more into the ones that were more drama filled, then perhaps he was working out or relaxing, that didnt seem as fun as a possible lover, or a secret meeting. "Odd to see someone out this late." she called out to him in an almost teasing manner. Her voice friendly as ever as the small mare had a large smile on ehr face, showing of her pearly whites.
