Constance
1 | 500
It had been months since, yet another, part of Constance was torn away from her. Sword to the damn head. An unfortunate accident. It had also been months since another entered into her life, starting off as a, truthfully, awkward client. A chevalier, unbeknownst to Connie at the time as to why she chose her of all workers, willing to pay for nothing more than platonic company. She’d have to admit though, it was a nice change of pace with all that was going on around her. Tension in the royal court, a dragon beneath her home, and kirins, it was all so much for the mare. She’d spend hours locked within her room, taking on only her return patrons. Mistress Octavia ((rip in pieces)) was growing short with her but only a cold response was ever given. However, the shy knight of flowers was exactly what Constance needed to get out of a depressive funk.
She was shy, awkward but sweet and determined. It started off meeting every few days and soon escalated to everyday for a couple hours on end, paid, of course. However, tonight would be different. With Margaery’s hesitant voice, she was (sort of) able to ask the courtesan on a non-work related date. Honestly, it took Constance by surprise. The fact that the other mule was able to ask in the first place, as well as, Connie realizing in that moment that she was growing apart from the sadness that overwhelmed her.
The day of their planned date passed quickly, Ignacio’s sun setting on the ocean’s horizon. It wasn’t quite the season for butterflies in Aodh, however, Connie’s stomach would say otherwise. As she finished up her last client and bathed, they only grew in intensity. Her best friend, Eros, could tell you how nervous, yet excited she was because it was all she talked about, despite the male’s disinterest. “Do you think she actually likes me?” “Of course she likes me. Why would she ask?” “Eros! What if I’m not ready to move on?” Her hooves clattered against her room’s wooden floorboards ((ALSO RIP IN PIECES)) as she paced frantically, pinning up her mane in an extravagant fashion in tandem. Ears twitched to the sound of Eros sighing, followed by words of...distant wisdom. Wise words along the lines of; “Snap out of it.” “You’re hot, boo.” “I will stab her, if you need me to.” A well deserved glare followed that one. With a newfound sense of reality, Constance made her way down to the smokey common room, shoving past both worker and client. Her lavender eyes scanned for the exit, thinking it’d be best to wait for her ~date~ outside. Hesitating by the door for a moment, she choked down her worries before confidently pushing open the grand doors and stepping into the orange hazed city. It was much quieter out here, though the city still buzzed with life. The courtesan stepped aside, making small talk with whomever, waiting in her finest jewelry for her oh-so-familiar Knight in Flower Armour.
