BALE & CLYTHUS
After nearly a week and a half, Clythus has finally gotten word that his friend Bale has arrived back in town. Being that the silver dapples stallion has been house bound with a broken leg for that stretch of time, he has been antsy to see Bale again, knowing he could help. He sends off a letter as soon as he can and waits to see if Bale will answer the call.

CLYTHUS
Since the dragon had demolished the pearl and set the farm lands ablaze, the silver slave had been 'trapped' in doors. His leg had snapped perfectly in two and even with a splint he still couldn't put weight on it. The hobbling game had become as fun as a root canal. Nuala had even helped move most of the stallions bedding down into his 'spare' room and thus he stayed on the first floor. Stairs where too dangerous and since he had already broken one leg, breaking another would be the death of him.
So when word finally came from Nuala, as she returned from the market, that Bale 'his handsome large stallion friend' was back in town, the slave hobbled over to his desk and quickly wrote out a letter.
Dear Bale,
It's Clythus. I heard you had finally gotten back into Valore. I was hoping you'd be able to come visit me? I'm... Pretty injured from the dragon that exploded out of the Pearl. I'll tell you all about it if you like over a glass of that sparkling drink we had before. I'd love to hear how your expedition went as well. I hope everything went already, at least better then what's been happening here."
Hope to see you soon, Clythus
With that he sealed the letter and hopped over to Nuala. The mare had someone lined up to deliver it to Milan's estate and sure enough, the carrier pigeon was off, rapping at the door to the newly turned artisan.

After Magmire and Milan's rank promotion things had been slowly settling down again, and life was feeling more normal once more. Bale himself didn't feel all that centered however, and hadn't for example left Milan out of his sight enough to train. While he knew, logically, that the sky wasn't likely to fall on them any minute and even if it was, Bale could very little about it, he was like a watchful guard dog, ready to protect at the faintest of sounds. And sure enough, as soon as he heard something at the door, he came at a trot, puffing himself to look even larger. When it turned out it was just a letter, he handed it to Milan and settled down, not expecting it to have anything to do with him. Boy, was he wrong.
His head snapped up as soon as Milan started to read out loud, and as the dark stallion continued onwards his tone was growing colder by the word, and the green eyes held a rather dangerous stare. Bale looked like the wind had been sucked out him, and appeared to shrink by the minute. He swallowed rather harsh - he absolutely hated when Milan was mad at him, especially since he hadn't done anything particularly wrong. As soon as Milan was finished with the letter, it was ripped into pieces in the air, and the falling pieces got stomped on. Bale swallowed again, afraid to say anything. When Milan's gaze finally met him again, he tried to make himself look even smaller, if possible.
"How far away does he live?" Milan demanded. "Dunno, like... 30 minute walk?" Bale replied, hesitantly. "You have 1 hour for the whole thing." "But." "Start running."
Bale stared at Milan, but only for a short moment. He started towards the door, only once glancing over his shoulder to witness the letter getting even further destroyed. He would have felt bad at leaving Clythus injured - surely it was something bad, if it couldn't have been taken care of by now. Bale did realize he was probably one of the strongest healers around, and to him, that made it his responsibility. And Milan was already upset, so staying wasn't likely to help the situation. No, it was better to get this over with as quick as possible. So, he ran. Despite his high vitality, he was sweaty and winded as he arrived at Nuala's doorstep. He took a couple of deep breaths before knocking.

CLYTHUS
It was odd, to send a letter. Clythus had never had to opportunity to do that before and it almost felt... Calming. Like a surprise would come for him. Would Bale write back? It seemed the silver slave didn't have long to wait though since once the letter had arrived, bale was running. With a broken leg, maneuvering around the house was challenging but not impossible. The slave still managed to make tea and light up some incense sticks. He was determined not to be a complete waste of space and longed to use all three legs again.
Yet it seemed Nuala also didn't mind looking after him. With the destruction of the Pearl, the courtesan was busy in her home but to the slave, it looked like she had cut back on the amount of customers she had taken on lately. Instead a good amount of her time was spent dotting over the silver dappled stallion and treating him nicer then he was used too. Could it be because he had taken her on his back off the balcony? Insuring she would not be hurt from the fall? Did she feel guilty? Proud maybe? Clythus knew he probably would not know for some time. She did tend to keep a lot of her inner thoughts hidden.
A sudden knock on the door snapped the slave out of his thoughts and he rose from the pillows with a wince. Hobbling over to the door, front right leg lifted and pinned to his chest, a splint securing the rest of it he opened the door, head low. Upon seeing Bale he lifted his head and smiled. "Bale! I... I wasn't expecting to see you so soon. Is everything ok? Can I get you some water?" The other slave looked nearly winded, as if he had run the whole way here... He couldn't have. Could he?

Bale hadn't quite known what to expect, and noted the splint and the hobbling movement right as the door opened. To him, this was a mission and he felt rather pressured to not upset Milan further, so much so that he hadn't given it half a thought that it might appear in an entirely different light to Clythus to have appeared in such a rush. "Oh, yes, just uh, slightly in a hurry. I'm fine, don't trouble yourself", he managed, as it didn't seem like there was another slave to take care of such things, and to Bale it seemed like a bad idea to watch Clythus hobble around for much longer.
"What happened?" he then asked, looking at Clythus from head to toe and assessing the situation. He had heard that the Pearl exploded, but hadn't really been all that concerned. He had only personally met one courtesan, and hadn't much liked them, so his views were quite skewed to begin with. Pearl gone, it was easier not to think that Milan had history there. He hadn't given it much thought that maybe others were affected as well, or that someone he knew could be hurt. He had had way too much to deal with other things.

CLYTHUS
Clythus quickly stepped out of Bale's way, allowing the other to venture inside. It was clear that the place wasn't nearly as clean as last time, and that even the tea wasn't brewing. With a small breath the silver male dipped his head a bit. "I hope this isn't much trouble for you... Did the letter make it alright? It must have, because you're here now..." Clythus knew he was rambling but there was little else he could do. Large patches of the others mane where gone, his scar a bit more visible now along with a bunch of small scabs and a few new scars. The main cause of the letter was indeed the broken leg the slave now carried.
At the question, his ears flickered forward then back a bit. "Oh, yes that... A dragon came out from underneath the Pearl, taking it down as it scrambled through the place... The owner and Zuriel's sister where... They passed quickly under the archway. The rest of us scrambled to get out before we knew what was happening. I ended up leaping off the balcony with my mistress on my back." The male looked down and lowered his ears. "There was little else I could do but protect her. I don't even know if the others made it out ok..." Voice turned into a soft whisper as he lifted his head again. "What about you? You've been gone much longer then I expected. Is everything alright?"

Bale felt slightly annoyed at Clythus' apologetic attitude - partly because he was already here, so there was no point in wondering if it was trouble now, and partly because it was probably actually going to be trouble once he returned home, which was definitely not something he felt like sharing right now. So many things happening in such a short amount of time had him quite on the edge. He swallowed a snappy comeback, and instead simply said: "Yes, the letter arrived just fine."
Once he was settled inside, he observed Clythus more closely while listening to the explanation. It sounded like a pretty horrible thing, and was probably even more terrifying to someone who was not used to blood and pain. "I'm sorry that happened", he offered, not quite knowing what to say. It felt insensitive not to say anything, but no words could change what had happened.
"Yes, we got back fine. I mean the Oriel erupted while we were at Magmire but you probably knew that. It was a bit chaotic and no new slaves were brought back, but otherwise", he told. He imagined the ash would linger in the air for a while, but eventually things would settle down again. He hoped.
"So, about that leg. You'll need to lay down and then I need to remove the splint", he explained very matter-of-factly.

CLYTHUS
Clythus listened, eyes going wide as Bale spoke. The volcano erupted? That... That was news. The stallion had been so shaken by the giant dragon that having the idea of something else exploding hadn't crossed his mind. "I'm glad you're ok." He smiled weakly and then slowly limped over to the large pillow Nuala kept by the couch. With a small breath Clythus prepared to lay down and dropped his head. With a large bit of effort his legs folded and he all but fell onto his side, settling on the plush item. It was clear 3 legs was not to the silver stallions liking but he was making due.
Eyes flickered up to Bale, shifting his body to allow the leg to jut out in front. He couldn't undo the splint until he was sure it wouldn't move. Untieing the rope around his neck, having kept the leg lifted he winced as the pressure left him and let out another hard shaky breath. Slowly, Clythus helped undo the splint around his leg and wince again as it was taken away, the limb unable to not be jostled in the process. He moved to lay his head down and tried to relax. Healers always made him a bit uncomfortable, mainly from the glow of magic that it produced. He was not a huge fan of the stuff but knew it would be useful.

Bale followed Clythus quietly to the large pillow, and waited for him to get settled. It was difficult to watch how painful it was, but Bale knew it had to be done. He didn't trust Clythus to be able to stand quietly during healing, and he was worried about setting the bone wrong - he definitely didn't want to have to re-break and re-heal it. Despite being a warrior, Bale wasn't one for the suffering of others, at least not any more than was necessary. He helped the cast off as gently as he could, his expression focused and serious.
"I'll have to feel the leg first with my teke, and the healing might not be entirely painless to begin with. Just try to stay as still as you can", he explained calmly, yet in an assertive tone. Then he begun, kneeling closer, his teke going over the injured limb lightly until he found the break, at which point he had to grip tighter. "Breathe", he reminded, and watched until Clythus took a deep enough breath, and at that same moment re-aligned the leg better in one, solid movement, feeling how the bone settled better. Definitely not painless, but had to be done. When he was satisfied with the placement, he pressed with his teke to hold Clythus still - with his strenght, it didn't allow for much movement at all. Once he begun the healing, his eyes glowed dimly with pale yellow. He could feel the leg as his magic went through the tissues, fixing them inside out. Once the magic had a good hold, Clythus' leg glowed as well. Bale could feel the bone begin to grow rapidly, and a single drop of sweat trickled from behind his ears. His entire concentration was on the leg, and the world seemed to blur outside of it. Once the bone was okay, the rest was easier, and the light only started to fade once the leg was entirely as good as new. Bale removed his teke and stood back up. "Better?" he asked, his breathing slightly heavier than normal.

CLYTHUS
As Clythus watched the darker male draw closer, he couldn't help but feel slightly uneasy. He knew pain like this was not something he liked, he wasn't sure of anyone he knew who did. But something about knowing what was to come, only made it worse. Feeling the others Teke take hold of his leg and feel for the break, the silver slave had to find a way to calm down. It took several uneasy inhales before his mind finally calmed. And with one actual large inhale and exhale the bone was shifted before he knew what Bale was doing. A small cry left him, tears easily finding purchase down his cheeks as he struggled to hold still. The fiery pain had been more then he was ready for and Bale's grip was relentless.
Bale's strength was more then Clythus could have imagined. It felt like his whole being was holding him down, pinning him as the healing took hold. He understand why, as the born worked to regrow and thread back together. It wasn't painless but it was no where near as painful as the resetting had been. Panting, eventually the pain let up, watching the other stop glowing before he finally pulled back completely. As shaky as he was, Clythus stood and walked a bit on the leg. There was no pain, it was as if he hadn't broken it at all!
Eyes widened and he pranced over to Bale, nuzzling the side of his neck before he knew what he was doing. "T-thank you! Thank you so much Bale!" He then stepped back and blushed, realizing he had ignored his bubble. "C-can I get you some water or some sort of snack for the road?" He guessed the male needed to get going, granted from how winded he was when he got to the door. Without waiting for an answer he moved gracefully over to the alcove and poured him a cold glass of water. "Here..." He offered, holding it out.

BALE Bale watched as Clythus walked on the leg, content with his work. He wasn’t a doctor, but it didn’t take one to see that the leg was aligned properly, and the muscles worked like they should. Sometimes when there had been pain too long the limp was still there when the damage was healed, but he was happy that Clythus seemed to be moving freely.
His muscles stiffened at Clythus’ touch. It was unexpected, and he didn’t know what to think of it. He simply took one awkward step further, knowing full well that he’d get his ass handed to him if he smelled like someone else going home. But he assumed it was just some friendly Aodhian custom he wasn’t aware of, so he didn’t want to seem rude either.
“Water would be okay”, he replied, already to Clythus’ back, and soon received the glass. He took it gently and downed the drink with one swift motion. It was cool and refreshing, and hopefully enough to keep him going fast enough until he got back home. “Thank you”, he said, simply, and eyed out the window quickly before nodding: “I must get going, my master wishes me home swiftly.” He paused, eyed Clythus and the leg, and then added: “Take care.” And like that, he was out the door again, his steps accelerating from trot to gallop as he went.
