Queen | Medicine Horse Queen blinked her sapphire deep eyes in the mornings light. The soft grey of her neck and wings glittered, mixed in with soft, short fur was oil slick feathers that caught the mornings sun. She grumbled at the ache in her belly from lack of food as it seemed to talk back with a loud growl. The dark faced mare had not had the chance to eat just yet as she stood by a tent that had been erected for her mission. Earlier, her stomach was too wrapped in knots to accept food. Queen regretted that deeply now, small cinnamon buns pattered through her head. The thought of the bursting lush berries she had almost decided to eat haunted her psyche. Staring with sleep dull eyes at the tent flap, she also thought of the warmth she had to leave back with her lover, Unity. A groan threatened to escape but she stifled it. Twisting it's dislike into a gaping yawn as she began to shuffle her sluggish bones inside the tent. She had stayed up late with her thoughts of her vital mission. Supplies, and not just supplies for the herds life support. Supplies for war. Suddenly Queen shivered as her mind that was focused on Unity thought of her Fury ranked mare and worried. Shaking her bald neck and head with an attempt to dislodge the dangers they were plunging in to, she realigned her mind to her task. To prepare, and she had made a list last night, sitting there with her love talking over happenings and scenarios they may encounter. The striking penguin Pegasus tightened up her useless flipper shaped wings against body, usually clothed in a soft silk slip, her slick feathered wings were bare now. There was work to do and with that she lifted the paper she had jotted her list upon and began to read. She read and re-read her list, adding and making changes as she waited for the group of horses who had been assigned to her to begin arriving and start the tasks to prepare for what was simply… unpredictable.

Sahelanthropus Serora | Pottery maker Sahelanthropus had always been a morning person. Every day after the day he was born he had been up at the crack of dawn, bouncing on his hooves and running around the adventurous valleys that were his home. Even now, he bounced around his shop with the energy of a newborn stallion, large ears forward and hair following his movements wildly as he prepared his shipments for the day, humming along the way. Things had been tense in Sedo the last few months, yet even with the war looming ahead of them, Sahelanthropus knew that they couldn't get gloomy, couldn't let what was coming cloud their minds and hinder their efforts to fight back. So, shouldering the wooden carrier along his back, Sahelanthropus grunted and grinned as he lifted the multiple pieces of pottery up, heading for the opening of his shop.
Flinging open the curtains that filtered the sun, Sahelanthropus stepped into the bright morning sun and began to make his way to the market. after a few minutes, he stuck his head into another shop and grinned, ears pinned forward as he peered around. "WAKEY WAKEY QIMAT" he called out to their neighbour and friend, gasping as sunlight filtered in and bounced off of the many pieces of glass work, casting shimmering lights upon the walls. Laughing, they pulled their head out and waited for their friend to freshen up for the day. Letting out a content sigh, Sahelanthropus gazed out ahead, wondering where Hakim was. His heart squeezed in both worry and fear, his smile faltering for but a moment. Shaking his head, Sahelanthropus lifted his head and flicked his long tail, nearly bouncing with excitement for the coming day.

Lilliana Vagabond bard
Having left the ashes of Breim behind, Lilliana had made her trek to Sedo. What she had hoped to be relief of the world's hardships however, soon turned in distress as whispered rumors started trickling in as she said hoof in the Seroran country. Word of war had made it to her ears, worrying her beyond measure. War. It was only she could imagine. These kind horses who had once offered her a home, how could they be tempted into a fight? Her worries and question had driven her to the nearest port. Ports after all brought on a wealth of information, mouths of sailors who celebrated their arrival on land especially loose.
Herding Sirius through the streets, she kept her ear out for anything of note. Horses who had gathered around her during the evenings for stories and songs had long given her the jist of thing. Aodh had declared war on Serora, apparently over a Vagabond child the Serorans had claimed as their own. Lilliana had felt her heart swell at their reasons, again convinced of their kindness, yet the consequences of their choices lay almost as heavy on her as it laid on the herd itself.
Lilliana was listening, not only out of worry, but also because she needed to make sure she could be safe, that Sirius could be safe. She had no plans to get mixed up in this. It made her feel guilty. She wanted to help, but to help was to witness and to help meant most likely picking sides. She didn't want that. The question was where she could run. Right now she was weighing options, all the while wishing she really would not have to think about it.
A horse standing alone caught her attention. They seemed to waiting for something and she saw a chance to shove unpleasant thought aside. Maybe this morning, she'd even be able to make some shards. She called Sirius closer, approaching the horse with a polite greeting. "Good morning my fellow equine, are you here waiting for someone? May I perhaps offer a song, a story to help pass time?"

Queen's mind prickled as someone called out to her.
"Good morning my fellow equine, are you here waiting for someone? May I perhaps offer a song, a story to help pass time?"
Looking to the sound of the voice she discovered a warm red dun before her and a small foal in tow. Queen smiled softly and bowed in welcome to the newcomer.
"Ah, i think some may be headed my way. I have some jobs to do today but i have time..." Queen paused for only a moment to glance about. Still no one seemed to be in the area yet so she leaned her neck down and little to smile at the youngster. "I wouldn't mind a song, but only if it is of no inconvenience" Her cheerful smile continued as she looked back up to the foal's mother and gave a slight wink before righting her posture. "Though it may be a little early for some, I wouldn't mind just the company. You didn't happen to see anyone seemingly headed this way?" Though in an active area, it was near silent in the early hours of the morning and someone out and about might be headed her way. She hoped so, her list of items needed was daunting in her mind and the extra hooves would be so helpful. (226)

A L A R I Serora | Potter
......
The sands were still cold, the early morning sun too weak to warm the grains this early, when Alari made his way into town. He’d spent the last few nights out in the surrounding deserts “looking for clay.” Of course, that turned into looking at cacti or rocks or the little spiny lizard he saw yesterday eating ants. He might not have found anything to make his pieces from, but instead he’d found inspiration for a whole new set of wares. Overall, he deemed the trip successful.
But now he was back in the city, ready to meet with Queen and help gather supplies. He figured he’d just be carrying supplies, since he didn’t really have anything to give. He couldn’t really remember how he was supposed to help, although he was sure Queen mentioned it, but helping was help enough for Alari. So much had happened to the Talori. They might not be the most open of herds, but now they’d lost almost everything. Alari couldn’t imagine what it must feel like to be run from their own home.
War had come to the Talori and now it would come to his Sedo. The sand would be warmed with blood, sweat, and sand. His home and his people were now at risk, but that didn’t mean they had to turn their back on others, specifically the fleeing Talori.
Alari set off towards the meeting with his stump tail high and little thoughts about anything other than the soft wind through his hair and sun on his back.

Odette || Concubine || Status: its too hot
"I swear by Cascade if the war doesn't kill me the damn sun will." Odette growled under her breath as she limped about mindlessly. She'd been practically ordered to get up and stretch her legs, to strengthen the muscles in the injured one so that she wouldn't lose use of it. At this point she didn't really care that much really, her home was probably blown to pieces, her father was probably dead. Eden....by the gods Eden better be okay or Odette would personally kill him. The reason she even tried to do more than curl up and die in some dark corner was Haven, and he'd begged her to let him go play with the other foals, and Odette could not say no to her boy. Even if the separation caused a deep anxiety to claw at her gut. Another reason she'd chosen to try for a walk, she was hoping to find herself a distraction.
That distraction came sooner rather than later when she caught sight of a somewhat familiar horse. Well, not that she could ever forget such an elegant form at the unique pegasus, even if their meetings had just been in brief passings, but a name alluded her right up to the point she was practically standing in front of the taller mare.
"Good morning...Queen is it? I do not wish to bother you, but is there anything I may help with? I'm afraid I feel rather useless at the moment..." she admitted, too worn down emotionally to even attempt a facade.

Urbi | Travelling Merchant
The day was an unusual one. For starters it was day and Urbi only worked under the power of the moon. But something about her Clairvoyance had compelled her to be up early and in the company of both the sun and sand. So there she was, hauling her cart through the sand. Also, it was very rare for the Hippocampus to be looking for customers, they find her. Yet again, there she was looking for potential clients. Perhaps there was someone in need of a reading or someone feeling disconnected from their God and are after a blessed item. The possibilities were endless and so Urbi was not too off put.
Looking around she noticed a small band of horses had gathered. One she had thought she'd seen singing about the forest, the another a unique pegasus that simply intrigued her. She pulled her cart over nodding at the group. "A fine morning, my fellow equines. The God's tell me it's going to be an interesting day." She told them with a smile. "My name is Urbi, I'm a travelling merchant in name of the God's. Do tell me if one of my items here calls to you."

QIMAT seroran glass crafter The morning sun's rays filtered in through the open windows in Qimat's bedroom, reflecting the brightly colored glass that hung from her ceiling. The bedroom was like a kaleidoscope, a fractal escape from reality that was desperately needed when threats of war loomed overhead. She wasn't a warrior by any means, no, but the equine was fighting a mental battle nonetheless -- and it was exhausting. She was concerned for her precious herd, her family and friends, and how the world seemed to crashing around her. Talorians were taking up refuge, as their homeland had been terrorized. While naturally Qimat would have been more than accepting and willing to accommodate their hippocampus neighbors, she was concerned for her herd's resources. Aodh was preparing for war, angry with Serora failing to keep their own part of the bargain. Qimat was angry her leader had agreed to the slavery conditions in the first place, but who was she in the grand scheme things? She was wealthy, but nothing similar to the nobles she heard so much about.
That's who she was: Nothing. She was nothing compared to the leaders of the world. Normally these facts didn't bother her. Then again, normally there wasn't talk of war.
Qimat snorted and cleared her throat while she combed her hair up into her buns. Her telekinesis gracefully brushed and braided her mane before pulling the strands into tiny buns crawling down her neck. As the last braid was threaded into a bun, she heard her neighbor and friend speak: "Wakey, wakey, Qimat!"
"I'll be down in a few!" She called back, turning her neck in an attempt to crack it. Using her teke, she pulled the hairs on the base of her tail into a loose braid, woven just tightly enough to keep the hairs from falling out of place and looking unruly. With a flick of her tail and a shake of her coat, Qimat pulled her saddlebags onto her back and began to descend down the stairs into her humble shop. "Morning," she greeted, smiling at Sahelanthropus. He was always so happy (most of the time, anyway) and filled with life. It was difficult to be grouchy and upset around the pink-haired unicorn, even if it was so early in the day. Better to be awake in the cooler morning air than late into the afternoon. It was calmer during the morning, with less hustle and bustle, but the knowledge of everybody waking up for the day was reassuring.
"How're you?" She asked. "Anything planned for the day?" She continued, walking past the stallion and out onto the streets. The sand was already warmed from the sunlight. "I was thinking of heading to the shrine," she commented, referring to Alya's. "Or gathering materials. Relaxing would be nice, too, but I can't seem to get my mind off anything but these... rumors about war." Sahelanthropus was one of the few equines that she trusted to know anything about her thoughts, even if she hardly ever elaborated on them to her friend. It was difficult to open up, and so only fragments like shattered glass appeared and revealed themselves when she saw fit. A small yawn, and Qimat was wishing they had made time to drink some breakfast tea before leaving.
A couple more minutes of walking landed the pair in front a small group that had gathered. There was Queen, Qimat noticed, a pegasus she had seen in passing and briefly met once or twice, and a few other equines she had not yet met or even seen. With a look at her friend that said 'let's go check this out,' she walked over to the tiny crowd. She arrived just after Urbi introduced herself. "Hi, Queen. Everyone," Qimat said, politely nodding her head in acknowledgment.

S e l o r a Step on my toes, I'll bite yours clean off.
Gods, did she tire of the heat. Selora was less than content to be back in Sedo, the only positive side of returning to “home” being that she was able to see her family again… Though one may not consider it entirely positive. She had arrived in Sedo quite curious about why she had been dragged along - outside of her current status as a branded traitor. The Emperor had wanted to keep an eye on her, she was sure of that much. But why else bring her to this forsaken desert wasteland? Perhaps to torture her, or perhaps simply to remind her where she truly originated. Damn him. If her life had been up to her, she would have chosen to be born amongst the Talorians, like her mother. But of course then she would not have her lovely family…
The tiny mare was returning to Osulas’ dusty marketplaces (oh, what she would do for Aquore’s polished jewelry and beautiful storefronts) from a solemn meeting with her adoptive brother. He had forgotten, or perhaps purposefully omitted the fact that their parents had passed in those recent months. Yet she could not blame him in this instance, since he now his hooves quite full with their younger sister, Taline. The filly was growing up quickly, and was as energetic as ever. Boys had become an issue, as the little Pegasus had so bashfully explained to Selora about some unicorn boy she had scared off in an attempt to kiss him. The roan mare couldn't help but chuckle, her sister was so much like her as a filly - perhaps without the constant trouble she had caused her family. She wished so much to be able to bring Taline home to Aquore with her, to take her away from these awful deserts. But would that be right for her? Probably not. After all, the sands of Sedo were all she knew. And Selora knew for a fact that Taline would not adjust well to the pegasus of Aquore being an inferior species. Yet one could only hope, perhaps with the new regime she hoped the Flight would create...
And speaking of hope, Selora hoped for some damn shade. Even in the marketplace, there was no relief from the heat. Unlucky for her, her shawl had been ripped clean from her branded shoulder during the escape from the bombers. She had found a small beaded band to tie her frizzy curls from her face, but that was the closest thing she had to relief from the sweat that pearled down her neck and sides. The bearing heat had sunburned her back and shoulders, making her brand itch. Yet lucky for her, she no longer had to hide it under even itchier fabrics. Because what would the Serorans care about some marking on her shoulder? In their naive minds, they would see it as a tattoo, possibly. Or a scarification that meant something deep and religious. Though it was far from that, she was grateful for not having to worry about hiding it as much, though the instinct to do so still remained largely. She hoped to the Wave Mother that she would not see any familiar faces, those who knew her, of all equines, would never willingly bring a needle to her skin to mark it with something as unholy as a tattoo.
In all her pondering and thinking, Selora had forgotten to watch where she was going. You would think one of such small stature would be more careful, but there was no one that was perfect. Hearing someone start to speak above her, she lifted her head quickly to find a sudden, sharp pain making her feel as though her head had split open.
“HEY-” She stumbled back mid shout, attempting to steady herself, yet finding this difficult as the heat suddenly overcame her. Dizziness spread through her like a plague, and quickly she found her ass in the hard sand, feeling as though she would puke right there. She couldn't even snidely remark at whatever idiot ran into her - gods, could they even see? And this, along with the entirety of her circumstances that burdened her, made her incredibly irritated.

......
One moment, Alari was thinking about the value of glazes versus matte finishes when something hit him. ”HEY” Correction, someone. Alari whirled around, eyes wide and ears up, only to find no one at eye level, but instead sitting on the ground. A small, spotted mare was below him, looking rather frazzled. Alari fought back a smile. He'd barely felt the impact, yet the other horse was on the ground. Alari peered down at the mare, ”Oh, hello. Are you okay?” Alari blinked. She looked rather hot, unused to the heat. And to think it was just morning! For Alari it almost felt cool.
With the mare still half sprawled before him, Alari turned his attention to the sky. The sun hadn’t moved far, but he really should be going. Queen was expecting help after all. Then it hit him. The mare walked into him, she obviously had somewhere to be, and to be so flustered and hot this early must mean she was late for something. She must be going to see Queen too!
”So you’re off to find Queen too, eh?” Alari winked. Then, without any warning, he hauled her upright with his telekinesis. The dust swirled around them, disturbed by the sudden movement. Alari lightly brushed if off his knees, ”I’ll walk up with you, so we can both be late together! That always makes it better.”

Lilliana | Vagabond bard
Lilliana smiled, apology already on her lips for the interuption, when the mare did accept her offer. She smiled brightly and was about to offer her a choice when the other started talking again, again about waiting. Oh dear, how stressed she seemed to be. She must be a good sorts though as she acted kind towards her child. Said foal ran off to play some more after giving a quick greeting.
“I’m afraid I don’t know if any were planning to come your way.” Her curiosity was peaked. She choose a soothing song, one that told a local tale. Many Serorans would know it. She however didn’t get far as aforementioned horses started trickling in and she cut her singing short so they could greet eachother in peace. Her interest was peeked again, the fall of tongue of one of the newcomers definitly not Seroran. The group became a clutter of horses. Lilliana wondered what they were all doing together. She had no scrupules about asking either. She adressed the mare with the foreign accent and the child of her own. “Good day sister, I have never heard such particular accent before, it is quite nice to hear. May I ask where you hail from?” She was all smiles, no hostility to be heard behind the remark.

Oh how typical the sands were, all of a sudden there was a plethora of horses around to help. Queen smiled and a spark came to her eyes, she loved these lands and loved those who strolled it even if they were not of her herd. The bard had begun to sing and when she inevitably stopped Queen dipped herself in apology and began to address the others. First it was a pretty horse from... Talori she thought and as she inquired after Queen's own name she nodded.
"Aye yes lass, its Queen." The warmth in Queens voice was pure honey. What a lovely horse. "Now dear, i never forget a name..." She paused and looked her over again, taking a few steps to the side to admire her coat color. "Ah, Odette? Why yes i have work that needs doing if you dont mind!"
Just then what seemed like a vendor came upon them and began to talk, Urbi was the name and she took it in with just another time before a familiar face came to them. Though they were of her herd she could not place the name and felt ashamed.
"Hi, Queen. Everyone"
Queen bowed, this was becoming quiet a crowd and she smiled as she looked back at the list she had set upon the table in the tent. Looking back to Qimat, whose name was still alluding her she spoke.
"Pardon my dear, but i don't think i've ever heard your name"
The penguin would know, she was just good with names. But the warmth from her earlier sentence echoed through now and she hoped she was not being too bold. Then again, this was her home and she loved to meet new horses! It also seemed they were inter mingling now, Queen fell back in trying to lead the conversation. She would let them get to know one another slightly before bringing up the objective for the day. (330)

S e l o r a
Her face burned with embarrassment when the stallion that towered above her asked if she was alright, dipping his head down to get a closer look at her - or so that was what she figured him to be doing. And to top it all off? A sudden tight grip about her tiny body from dimly glowing teke pulled her off the dirt and onto her hooves. He had picked her up. Picked her up, like a child’s play toy. How embarrassing. Oh, and of course not to mention that he had to go and remind her of the ridiculous summons she had received late the evening before for some mare named Queen who needed her help. And with what exactly? Selora had not been in this country for a year, if not more. She hardly knew any of these faces any longer, yet alone some plucky, annoying horses who felt as though including her would do some sort of good. If anything, it would only do more damage.
Before she could say no or to tell this giant buffoon to kindly piss off however, he was already walking and talking in the direction she assumed she was supposed to be going. And she found her tiny legs following alongside him, his stride matching hers as he chitchatted. She bent down her head to brush off the dust from her knees, nearly tripping on herself as she sneezed hard into the dust, creating a poof of a cloud below her. “Goodness, excuse me. I'm not used to this dry heat, it's quite insatiable, I don't quite understand how you Serorans live with all this dust." It took a moment for her to readjust her footing, looking down at the ground. Perhaps making small talk with the locals would be a better choice… after all, if she was to do what she planned, she would need as many Serorans to trust her as possible. Lucky for her, she had a leg up. None of them, or so she hoped, understood what the brand on her shoulder meant.
Perhaps making new alliances with those she used to live among wouldn't be so terrible though… she would need friends to create the unity she wished to create. And what was making friends in Sedo but flashing a debonair smile and making others feel comfortable and secure around you? Certainly that was something Selora could do with ease - she was quick witted, silver tongued, and an extremely accomplished mediator. This could be an absolute breeze… or very well a disaster. She prayed the Wave Mother would grant her the latter.

Walking among the stalls that sold wares of a different culture, Amara commanded every horses' attention. She was here. Somewhere new- For once without a foal at her side- Demanding to be fed or seeking aid in walking. It was freedom in this instance- Regardless of where she was. Regardless of what she looked like- Her long tail gone, it was instead what was left was braided into a neat beautiful little braid of intricacy. It was her little piece of Talori. Her mane was styled very much the same, mostly to free her neck from the heat. She was beautiful. Glowing almost- Pregnancy had rolled over but she had the glow of a first time mother, she had recovered from the wailing of children and was finally back on her feet.
This was her first time venturing alone, her husband was off doing whatever. She couldn't care, he sought comfort in trying to save his herd more than his family. It didn't bother her however, there was new places to be discovered....Though a familiar rump caught her attention. She was standing with another horse, a pegasus to be precise. Hah, how hilarious. From running away from pegasus, to calling them their allies, Amara couldn't help but find it ironic. What a funny twist. She rolled her eyes and trotted over to Odette, greeting her fellow concubine warmly. She stood beside the small mare, looking to Queen.
"Do pardon my interruption, I'm afraid Odette here is the only familiar face I recognise." She smiled at the red mare, amber eyes burning. Amara glanced up at Queen.

Sahelanthropus Serora | Pottery maker
Waiting patiently, Sahelanthropus flicked his tail, smiling as it kicked up a small cloud of dirt which was swept away by the gentle breeze. When Qimat finally emerged from her shop and stepped into the street with him. Grinning, Sahelanthropus flicked his ears forward happily "Goodmorning to you too!" he said with his usual cheery tone. As the breeze ruffled through his hair, Sahelanthropus couldn't help but let out a content sigh as he listened to his friend speak about her plans for the day. The thought of travelling to a shrine appealed to Sahelanthropus, both for the thought of a trip away from Osulas as well as being able to bug his boyfriend into taking them. Time with Hakim was becoming less and less, so any minute with him was to be spent smiling and happy, not thinking of the coming war. Turning his head slightly, he smiled at Qimat before speaking " 'm fine, you know me and mornings," he laughed, looking back ahead of them "A trip sounds great right about now, get away from everyone, hit it up with Ayla, the works!" he laughed once more, grinning.
After a few more minutes of walking and chatting with Qimat, the pair finally made it to the small gathering of horses. Sahelanthropus knew hardly any of them (shame on him) but he did recognise some of the Talorian's that had now made residence in Sedo. Grinning, Sahelanthropus stepped forward to introduce himself to them all. He bowed, as one does when they want to make someone laugh, before rising once more "Call me, Sahelanthropus! You're friendly neighbourhood story and pottery crafter!" He finished with a flourish of his tail, winking and continuing to grin. He wondered how much the new comers would hate him and his dusty appearance. Setting down the various ceramic pieces he had brought, Sahelanthropus smiled "Now who's ready to do some trading!"

Urbi;Vagabond | Travelling Merchant the less you care, the happier you'll be Urbi's skin crawled just a little as a whole bunch of new horses arrived alongside them. She took just a slight step back. She wasn't used to this many horses being around her, ever, nor was she pleased about being away from the water and the night sky. She forced herself to take a breath and look at things from a merchant's point of view. What did she notice about each equine? Clearly the unusual pegasus was well respected, the mother and child were similar to herself, out to make some coin and three of these horses were not used to the heat and sand as the others were. Her mind started ticking with possible sales she could make here. Sell some healing crystals to the one who's just had a child, calming herbs to the disgruntled mare and perhaps just some items blessed by their God's for the others. As her mind was ticking, one of the sand horses, the most vibrant for sure, began offering their services too. "Your friendly neighbourhood story and pottery crafter!" The role piqued her interest, perhaps they could collaborate together... "Now who's ready to do some trading!"
Now that sentence certainly perked her ears. "I, Urbi that is, would love to take a look at your wares, perhaps you'd like to do me the courtesy of doing the same for myself?" She asked him matter-of-factly. This native definitely intrigued her.

QIMAT seroran glass crafter"A trip sounds great right about now, get away from everyone, hit it up with Alya, the works!" Qimat could only smile at her friend’s enthusiasm. He was always able to brighten her day, and listening to him talk and ramble without having to say too much was always refreshing. Unlike Sahelanthropus, Qimat didn’t recognize any of the Talorians. She knew they were taking refuge, and she was genuinely confused as to why Serora was providing it to them. Her worldview was limited — as far as she was aware, Talorians were the rogues and pirates that would sometimes come to port and trade goods. They were friendly, sometimes, at least to her face, but she could only imagine how they behaved outside the public eye. These equines seemed nice enough, and she wasn’t in any position to question their real motives. Surely, if the Sultan and his council deemed it appropriate, the Talorians were fine. It only meant more confusion for Qimat and her beliefs. "Pardon my dear, but I don't think I’ve ever heard your name.” ”I’m Qimat,” she said, introducing herself to Queen. “I’m sorry for not introducing myself before. I’ve just seen you around here and there, and I couldn’t forget your coat, even if I tried! It’s so unique.” And it was, for how could anybody ignore the bright orange cheek markings on Queen? "Do pardon my interruption, I'm afraid Odette here is the only familiar face I recognise." Qimat turned her head slightly to look at the Talorian women, noticing that Odette seemed to be the bay mare with hair dye. She wasn’t sure who the curly coated one was, but Qimat noticed that she had an air of grandeur about her. They both did, really, and it peaked Qimat’s interest. If the sea worshippers were all pirates, were these the wives of pirates? She furrowed her brow for a second before swiveling an ear to listen to her friend excitedly introduced himself and began to display his wares. Qimat should have brought her own, but she hadn’t predicted that a group would gather in the middle of town. She watched the vagabond mare step back from the crowd, and Qimat couldn’t help but sympathize a little. She could understand how crowds were disconcerting, but crowds helped Qimat feel safe and empowered. She was glad the mare — Urbi, as she just learned — was interested in interacting, despite the number of people surrounding her. “Sahelanthropus is one of the best crafters in the herd! I’m interested as well, but I’m afraid I don’t have any of my goods with me. I craft glass — statues, wind chimes, jewelry, windows, jugs. If I don’t have it, I could make it one of a kind for you. If you’re ever interested, any of you, I’d be glad to provide a discount,” she offered, a grin on her face. Her craft was a source of great passion and pride.

DIana| Medicine Horse Diana sighed as she walked along the path. By the heat of the sun that clung to her pale coat she could tell was going to be scorching, not that the scorching heat was uncommon. She silently plead for Ignacio to lay off the heat a bit. As she continued to walk down the path a small thought came through, worried that she might get a horrid sunburn. Sighing again, she shook the thought out of her mind and picked up to a running-walk. She had nothing to do, no places to be and nothing to read. While she did enjoy free time Diana was growing bored- fast. Though she had grown to know a couple of hores she considered true friends, she did not know if any of them were free, or even willing to accompany her for the day. Though as she continued to wander, she heard voices farther off. Merely shrugging it off she continued to trot, until she came upon a familiar stumpy tail, and a familiar chipper voice. It was Alari…. And someone else she didn’t recognize. “Alari!” She called to her friend as she trotted up and settled to match the pair’s stride. “How are you my friend,” She leaned forward slightly to nod a greeting to the smaller, spotted mare, “and who is this, a new friend?”

Alari smiled at the mare who looked like she was about to fall over from the heat. He didn’t mind the dust or the heat. He couldn’t imagine life without it. Then again, Alari assumed the mare must feel the same way about her home. “You’ll get used to it, and it’s not too bad in the shade. But the sand and dust here can’t be too different from your beaches, eh? Think of it like a taste of home!” Alari spoke while he walked, heading towards the sound of gathering horses. They were nearly on them, Alari could see the distinct coloration of Queen amongst the crowd. He didn’t recognize the others, although at least one of them seemed to be from Talori. Maybe they knew his new companion?
“Diana!” Alari brightened at the sight of his friend, her white coat near blinding in the sunlight. He hadn’t seen her in a few weeks, between his travels and her duties. None the less, they remained good friends. “I’m doing great! I should hope your teapot is serving you well. And this is, ah. Well. I don’t know her name actual,” Alari paused and looked back at the spotted mare, “What’s your name? Well, either way, we’re going to the meeting with Queen! Are you going there too? I can see most of them now. Let’s go!” And without another moment’s notice, Alari was off towards the gathering around Queen.

Odette || Concubine || Status: Social AnxietyTM
The equine of the desert, Odette decided, were a strange though beautiful bunch. Very friendly, though a bit too touchy for her liking. Thankfully none of quickly gathering group had decided to get too close, though when one of the mares spoke to her it did send a sudden jolt of anxiety down her spine. She chided herself mentally, there was no need to fear any of these equine; pegasi or not. None of them were from the Flight, and so none of them were a danger.
With a deep breath, Odette smiled softly at the mare who'd spoken to her, "Ah, I traveled here from Aquore with my husband and son." She stated, while she doubted the other had any ill intent at all, she still didn't quite feel like broadcasting her status as a concubine of the Talorian Emperor to everyone. Nor the reason for their sudden visit to the sand-swept nation. Speaking of concubines, Odette felt a bit of tension leave her shoulders as Amara came to stand by her side. She reached over to greet her fellow wife with a gentle nudge at her cheek with her muzzle before turning back to Queen. "What shall you have us do?"

Lilliana | Vagabond bard
Lilliana's eyes grew wide as the mare explained she was from Talori herd. It was a mysterious place, but also whispered to be a dangerous one, so not somewhere she ever had tried to go. Still their horses faired the seas around Hireath and they way of speech tended to be different, not quite as polite and definitly no so well kept in character. Lilliana found herself picturing this horse between them, but it was a hard thing to imagine. ”Oh, welcome to Serora then,” she said, smiling. She wanted to ask questions but refrained for a change. She was rather curious about other thing right now. ”They are a wonderful herd, I hope you’ll find a good home with them.”
Her attention turned towards the rest of the group. Somewhere in the background she could hear Luca scream in delight as she raced around. More and more horses gathered and Lilly wondered why they were all assembling like this. She decided to ask as much: ”Is there a particular event today?”
Her eyes slid over the odd bunch of horses, excitement filling her. It was interesting to see a gathering like this. What would they be preparing for? A feast perhaps? A initiation ritual for the Talorian mare? Perhaps she could join in.

Checkpoint // A small group of teenaged pegasi spot the gathering while on their way to get some breakfast and notice some of the patrons are Talorian. One of the kids shout out, "Why would we want to make an alliance with a bunch of pegasi haters?? Go back to your swamp hole already!" The kids grin at each other and open their wings up while fake charging at the group and making bird sounds before they run away, laughing.

Sahelanthropus Serora | Pottery maker As the Hippocampus stepped forward, Sahelanthropus grinned and nodded his head vigorously nodded, stepping towards the merchant in greetings "'d love to! Show me whatcha got!" he laughed, winking and dropping his products down once more. Looking back at Qimat and the others, he was excited to see everyone mingling and chatting away, despite the unfamiliar ties. Beginning to chat with Urbi, Sahelanthropus flicked his large ears as he heard the sounds of approaching hooves and the telltale ruffle of feathers. Turning his head to look over at the now gawking teenagers, Sahelanthropus tucked his ears back as they began to taunt the known Talori, his green eyes flicking over to their forms and watching for their reactions. Glancing at Qimat and then back to Urbi, Sahelanthropus kept his ears back as he thought about what they said. He wouldn't lie and say that he hadn't thought about the Talorian's actions and how they treated those gifted with wings. Glancing at the two wives of the emperor, he thought about their husbands actions and the emperors before him, how they were born into the rank rather than earn it.Much about the Talori was kept secret but he knew how they acted. His thoughts drifted to his mothers, Kiona and Hachi. Hachi's wings had always been something of a wonder to Sahelanthropus, hours spent playing and decorating them. In Briem, her true home, Hachi's wings were something to be cherished and smiled upon, not seen frowned upon.
Drawing his brows forward, Sahelanthropus looked away from the group. He did not want to defend them, nor did he think they deserved it. They were just as bad as the ones Serora was going to be fighting soon.

The warm greeting of a familiar face, her fellow concubine reassured Amara. She smiled and let out a gentle breath. Peace. This didn't seem too bad here. She was so pleased to be out somewhere else besides Talori. She listened intently, furrowing her brows at the Odette's question. Noooo. Don't offer to help. She wanted to spend the day doing nothing, having fun- Not...Working. The dark mare shuddered and whipped what was left of her tail.
"An event? No idea- Perhaps....Our new friend Queenie here can explain what's happening. I feel rather late to the gathering, I have not a clue what anyone is thinking or discussing." She chuckled lowly as her bright amber eyes flickered over to Lilliana. Y'know...With all the horses around her, it was welcoming. Damn. Amara couldn't deny the Serorian's humble presence. It was far different from how Amara liked to show off.
As Amara opened her mouth to speak, the group of teenage pegasi had heckled the group. Specifically the three Talorian mares. Her ears shot back against her neck and she twisted, mostly having jumped out of her skin. "HEY! At least our swamp hole looks better than your cursed faces!" She screeched, her words falling out of her mouth at a ridiculous pace. She sucked in a sharp breath with her cheeks puffed up, ears still pressed against her neck. "Stupid kids..." She murmured, looking round to the group with sorry eyes. "Sorry- I nearly went to the other side there from their screaming." She rolled her eyes, swallowing and lowkeyduckingbehindOdette.

This group kept gathering and Queen's heart welled. She had more horses here than she could possibly had hoped for! Would the all lend a hoof? The one new Talori mare pinpointed her to the spot with the intention of finding out what was to happen this day. Good, a chance to take the lead again! Coughing softly, about to speak, she was interrupted by teen horses mocking those of Talori birth among them. Queen's eyes narrowed at the youngsters and eyed them. Ah yes, she knew them and in fact, knew their parents. She let the Talori mare Amara get some pent up feeling out before taking a few steps closer and held out her odd wings to present herself.
"Now, you all, take a look. You know who I am and I know who you are... more importantly I know your parents and I KNOW they would not appreciate you treating others like this."
Like typical teenagers they laughed softly and rolled their eyes and the weirdo pegasus but they stopped their taunts for the moment at least. Queen rolled her eyes as well and turned herself to face the group yet again. Ready to speak this time.
"Ah, friends, sorry about that and no need to apologize dear..." She spoke to Amara "You are entitled to defend yourself. Anyway!" The feathers that dotted within her fur near her wings ruffled with a slight shake of Queen's neck. "There is no event but I am sure glad you all have found your way here... I could use the spare minds and hands, thats for sure but it is for a disquieting purpose...." Pausing she glanced back at her half open tent that held her lists and ideas for what might be needed and then back to her companions with soft eyes. "War, friends, I was tasked to prepare for war. Supplies are bound to be needed. I tried to form a list of what things we would need but I'd love to hear your thoughts. Some of you are crafters and not only do we need ways to move these supplies. Your crafty minds may also come in handy where mine failed."
Queen took a few steps into the crowd of horses, just enough for her telekinesis to be able to reach her list in the tent. She tugged it out and over the backs of the horses around and it halted before her. Taking a deep breath she began to run through her list. It was simple. Different types of cloth in varying sizes, some for wounds, some for slings and various medical uses. Lots and lots of herbs with the note that pots with the ability to be carried in packs for some would be needed. She would need some of those pots and herbs to create balms now that would be harder to do afield. Blankets, needles, thread and other minor basics were also listed and Queen felt like her list went on for ages. Finally reaching the end she looked up, half expecting everyone to have left from her windy catalog.
"Ah.. yes, thats all I could come up with. We need these supplies and we need them quickly. I'd love for those who would help to maybe split into teams?" She paused and then spoke a little louder. "Before we split off does anyone have a thought on what we still might need. We need to prepare for what none of us have experienced. There is no wrong answer." (592)

Urbi;Vagabond | Travelling Merchant the less you care, the happier you'll be The sound of a discount certainly intrigued Urbi. As she studied the sand horses' goods, her mind ticked over with ideas on how she could in-turn sell it herself. The statues she could certainly do with. "I would love to purchase something or even trade if something of mine if it intrigues you. Perhaps you'd like to take a glimpse into your future this evening? I read by the stars." She told the crafter with a warm smile. She hadn't read the stars in a few days and she feared she was getting rusty.
Before a deal could be made a spritely group of youngsters began harassing the ones she picked as sand foreigners. She felt she was right when one of those said foreigners began running their mouth back in retaliation. The talk of swamps and pegasi hating had Urbi curious. She didn't really make it her business to know the herd's issues, personally Urbi had no issues with any kind of horse, so long as they were interested in using her services. While she was thinking such things, she noted the atmosphere gathering from the other horses, it felt like a tense situation. It didn't take long for Queen to get involved and set the youngsters straight.
However, once they were gone Queen got back into leader mode and started throwing words around like 'war' and 'supplies'. Urbi squinted her eyes, she certainly hadn't signed up for anything of the sort. She shifted her hooves uncomfortably, "I'm not exactly sure if my wares fit that list of yours, I may perhaps have a few herbs lying about, but I'm not really one for group activities, my apologies."

Lilliana | Vagabond bard
Lilliana’s brow furrowers as some teens came swooping over and she quickly called Luca closer. Said foal obeyed and trotted closer, staring at the teens herself. She was slightly worried when the black mare of Talori herd yelled at them, but she was quick to control herself. She felt pity for them. Surely the harsh words were uncalled for. Trying to smooth things over a bit, she chuckled softly and commented lightly. “Oh, dear, children can be so mean, no? Though I am used to quite better manners of Seroran children. I wonder were they heard such things.” She looked at down Luca who had in the meantime stepped up under her legs and was curiously watching the rest of the adults gathered. While Queen scolded the teens, Lilliana took the moment for some parenting on her front. “You see dear, that’s the kind of things we don’t say to other equines it makes them sad. Luca nodded and muttered a ‘yes, mama,” in her boyish voice before making Lilliana’s heart swell in pride. “Please don’t be sad, pretty ladies. Mama says if horses are sad, their soul leaves a little. But if you’re sad, it’s okay to cry though. You don’t need to smile when it hurts.” she smiled a little and Lilliana found herself smile twice as wide. That was her daughter.
Her smile dropped quickly however as the horse Queen announced the news of the day. “Luca, be a good girl and go play some more okay?” Her eyes turned towards Queen, heart beating wildly in her chest. She had run from Breim, unable to deal with the air that clung around after the fire. She thought she had found her relief in Sedo but war? She suddenly felt unwell. “War? What do you mean?” She didn’t know how to twist this. How to ignore this.

Pegasus haters? Alari cocked his head at the teen’s words as he shouldered his way into Queen’s group, his saddlebags making him nearly twice his size. Where had those teenagers come up with that. He had heard of Talori’s ways, but he’d always thought them a bit exaggerated. Could it be he was wrong? He gave a sidelong glance at Selor before he whispered to Diana, “They don’t really hate them, do they?”
Queen started talking before Diana could reply, and Alari gave her his full attention. He couldn’t bare the thought of seeing his herd at war, but he was determined to do whatever he could to help them. He didn’t really know much about where to find cloth and herbs were mostly a mystery to Alari, but he knew they were needed. Alari was begining to think he wouldn’t be useful until Queen mentioned pots, and his eyes lit up. He could do that! Maybe not all the other stuff, unless they wanted him to cary it, but he could do pots.
“Oh! I’ve got an idea that might help,” Alari said loudly, “Me and Diana here made some self-watering pots! If there’s any other potters I could show them how to make it. It’s really simple! And that might make it easier to transport herbs. Fresh herbs means fresh balms for the wounded. I even have two on me I could donate immediately.”

Diana|| Medicine Horse
"Alari wait!" Diana sighed and shook her head as she watched her friend dart off. Looking over to the group her friend had shouldered his way into she recognized the distinctive colors of Queen, her fellow medicine horse. Then she heard the teenagers, whipping her head over she gave more than one of the foals such a fierce glare that even Ignacio would fear her. While she had heard less than positive things about Talori she did not make assumptions, but the “Pegasus Haters” was one heavy accusation, ones he would rather not dwell upon. Shaking her head, she quickly followed her friend as he made his way into the group, quietly apologizing to a smaller striped mare she had bumped into. Siding up next to her friend Alari, she turned to the interesting group and looked them over them quickly. “They don’t really hate them, do they?” She was surprised that her friend asked such a question. She thought it over, could Talori be such an opposite to her own herd? Shaking her head, she turned her head and listened over to Queen. Perking up at the mention of the pot, she smiled and nodded, “I can say with much assurance the herbs in those have survived much longer because of the pots Alari made! Though, they might need to be a bit smaller and compact if you need them for travel.” She looked around and was suddenly aware she had their attention, gulping she continued, “And for your medical needs Queen, I might be able to contact some suppliers from farther out, they can supplies to me quickly if need be.” She looked back to the pegasus, hoping her offer would suffice.
