Saleen | Mullah Apprentice It was the first time the young Mullah had felt any emotion remotely close to this. Stress. Saleen was known to be of the carefree variety; known to take things as they come, as if they were to come for a reason. But war was eminent. And her father would be in the frontlines. The pegasus didn’t want to think about it, but it was a nightmare that haunted her. Of course Salvatore was a brilliant fighter: a master of his talents, with a blessing that rendered her mesmerized at his prowess. But he had never fought in a proper war, and though she had every ounce of faith in him, nothing was certain. She demanded a distraction. As the older Serorans were busied with their preparations, Saleen preoccupied herself with the herd’s younglings. They would spend their afternoon in the Osulas ball court, playing their worries away. She knew most of her playmates, which made things all the more easy for her. Little Noatak was the easiest to recognize; the Sultan’s young colt whom he comforted at the Oasis the day of Adhara’s passing. Much of her time was spent with him - though he was still very young, their friendship was strong. Saleen recognized him practically as a little brother. The afternoon continued to roll by, and Saleen finally found that she was enjoying herself in the midst of all her worries. But as the sun rose higher in the sky, the heat did the same, and she didn’t want the little ones suffering. She called for a break underneath the shade of the trees in a far corner of the court, and handed out snacks. Saleen pondered what to do next. It was far too hot for the young group to continue exerting themselves in the sun, but the Mullah apprentice craved something just as fun. And before her mind could ponder any other possibilities, she recalled the mysterious relic a group of Serorans found months back - it was kept in one of the shrines. The young pegasus smirked to herself, and turned toward the children. “All right everyone, finish up,” she said cooly. “Who wants an adventure?”

Noatak
It seemed this was becoming more and more frequent. Their dads off doing what needed to be done. For the herds sake, and Noa understood, truly he did. They guided the herd, it was something they were learning as well as some fighting. Not like he was great at it or anything, but still he wanted to learn, he wanted to help. So that maybe when his dads had to leave, he could come too? Surely he would be of some help when he got older? Noa shook his head, and hummed faintly, his natural way of calming himself when things seemed a bit too much. Especially now, his own sister Hanani was elsewhere and he frowned a bit. Who was he suppose to talk to now? He was still.... hmm what did his fathers call him? Oh yes shy.
Ears flickered back a bit as he played in the sand, digging up little roots, for nothing but his own entertainment. It wasn't like there was much a little colt like him to do. Noa huffed out a light breath as he eyed the little roots curiously, it was no shock the small colt had a interest in plant life, though he had learned the hard way about cacti. They were not to be touched, even though he desperately wanted to, but one to many needles to the nose, made him decide it was okay to have a friendship at a distance. Eyes the root all the more Noa didn't notice Saleen approach.
The second she spoke, he jumped a little and looked to her with a large smile. While he of course was envious Saleen was somehow an adult, well pretty much an adult, more adult then him! He grinned even more at her words. "I like adventure." he remarked getitng up with ease, his little wings flexing out before tucking them gently to his side. "What kind of adventure Saleen?" he asked, though his voice was soft and gentle, never the type to get loud about anything, even if he was excited. Instead he seemed to show emotions more through actions, he was slowly bouncing on his hooves, awaiting for the answer, as he glanced around at the other ones with a look. Would they come along too? Not that he didn't mind company, well he just didnt know them all that well. He gulped his ears flickering down a bit as he curled into himself a bit, clearly nervous with dealing with those he truly did not know.

Helene
Being far away from her father was something Helene thought she would eventually get used to when the war effort was first announced. She was a grown mare, technically, even if she had yet to be apprenticed. The mare couldn't help the fact that her mind had been so caught up in other places she didn't even think about the future. If only her mind was that per-occupied with the future now. Since her father had left and her brother had become an apprentice, Helene soon quickly began to worry over them both, her father much more as he was a Screamer and would be on the front lines. Her brother was at least safe in Osulas with their mentor. It left the dappled mare feeling antsy and ready to bolt at any moment to go and find him, to at least take a small bit of comfort in her blood family. However, Helene now had a duty to attend to, something that left her in a far better mood. The mare adored children, it was why she was so content with her position as Care-taker. She had no problem watching over the little ones and keeping them entertained while the adults prepared for war. Helene let out a soft sigh from her spot in the shade, having watched the children and teenagers play. She particularly kept her eye on Noatak. The little colt was so withdrawn and quiet, it worried her at times. Having grown up with a brother similar to him though, she wasn't too anxious about him. At least he wouldn't be running around and trying to sneak off like the other foals. Those were the ones she would have to keep her eyes glued to. When Saleen spoke up with a suggestion, Helene's ears perked and she removed her gaze from Noatak to the younger pegasus. An adventure? Helene quirked her brow and spoke up, "What kind of an adventure Saleen?"

Tiga
|| Filly || Smol Pegasus || Apprentice Fury ||
Patience was not one of Tiga's strong suits and she hated to think of her mentor, Rowin, and the other Fury's preparing for the war that was coming without her! She felt old enough to help, maybe not fight along side them, she was still too small for that but she still wanted to help and playing with the other children of the herd was not helping! Even as her pride felt wounded the dainty filly found herself at least trying to enjoy her time with others her age, she barely spent time actually playing with them usually, she was always off training with Rowin or another Fury in order to hone her skills of aerial and standard combat but today her mother left her in the hands of the Care-takers and forbid her to leave their watch until she returned for her. Tiga had spent most of the morning pouting, beating the sand beneath her hooves into submission in mock attacks, trying to make herself feel better about being stuck with the children all day when she should be training. When the group started to play in the ball court Tiga's competitive spirit wouldn't let her sit idly by and watch others win the games! Throwing herself wholeheartedly into the games, trying to distract herself from her lack of training, the filly enjoyed herself like a child for once. The sweltering hear of mid-day stopped the games in their tracks though as the pegasus was starting to feel sweat drip down her stripped legs. Using her over-sized wings to help shade and fan the others as they snacked Tiga felt the idea of training begin to creep back into the front of her mind, without something to distract her Tiga grew restless. Finishing her morning snack Tiga's violet eyes grew wide as Saleen, the leader of the small group, spoke up about an adventure, quickly trying to swallow her last bite Tiga bounced toward the mare along with the other children, eager for an 'adventure' to distract her from the sweltering heat and her restlessness. The others spoke the same question that was nagging at her curious mind, What kind of an adventure? She had spotted the mischievous glint in the large pegasus' eyes and her smirk was promising too! Barely able to contain her excitement Tiga bounced higher, her large wings flapping wildly holding her aloft for a moment before her small hooves found sand once more. "Field trip!" The filly giggled softly to herself, eyes staring widely up at Saleen eagerly waiting her answer.

Pearl was already regretting leaving the comfort of her temporary room. She loathed the sunlight, especially on her sensitive skin. It burned and festered- threatening to blister and scald. Oh what joy it was to be albino. What joy it was to be weak and frail. Not even the words of encouragement from the Sage could soothe her temperament and distress of her very being. Pearl was thrown in with several other foals, she wasn't sure how she was led away...Oh, right. Haven's nagging to pull her away from her studies drove her to finally come out. How wonderful. This mare Saleen, she was one of those pegasus- in fact there were quite a few. Ry had taught her how back in Talori, they were lesser beings. Sacrificed. It was a strange concept for her to wrap her head around. Pearl didn't understand what sacrificing meant or why they were lesser beings. Here in Sedo, Pegasus were everywhere. They were so friendly too...Pearl hated to admit it. She hated that she felt so uncomfortable coming along with so many pegasi when it was...Sort of pleasant. A little. Saleen was so kind too to have let her come along whilst her mother was off...Somewhere. No idea.
As they took shelter beneath the shade, Pearl was already on her side with her small legs sprawled out. She was trying to catch her breath back, taking deep, sharp breaths as her legs were already beginning to ache from her attempts to play with the other foals. She was exhausted. Hidden behind the other foals, she could hear the older mare asking, 'Who wants an adventure?' Pearl frowned. Nooooo. There was a little pout on her lips as she rested her head on the ground, snorting with frustration. "Adventure? Why."

SALEEN SERORAN MULLAH APPRENTICE
Her parents had always told Saleen that getting her attention as a child was always a task more difficult. Surely, whatever they had planned for her was not nearly as important as what she was already doing. Yet so it seemed, Saleen was a natural. Merely pronouncing the word "adventure" was enough. So efficient in fact, that most of the young ones had formed a circle around her, awaiting for the Mullah to explain exactly what this adventure would be.
Saleen's pastel blue eyes found themselves on Pearl, one of the Emperor's children. She would be taking care of two today - plus Noatak - that made three children of royalty. But it didn't phase the young pegasus. She was confident with this task, and perhaps that's why she was asked to do the babysitting. Her eyes darted at each of the little ones as they asked her about what she had planned. She couldn't deny that they reminded Saleen of herself not long ago. "Question everything" was practically her motto.
She gave Pearl a giggle. The tiny princess sure was different, Saleen could tell that much. But it was a good, almost refreshing sort of different. The pegasus fanned out the feathers on her crown and tilted her head at the small white filly. "Surely you want to get out of this terrible heat, don't you?" She gave Pearl a warm grin and turned back to the children in front of her, pondering an explanation. "Hmm... think of it as a treasure hunt of sorts," Saleen lowered her head, positive she had them captivated.
"Only, it's quite easy, because I already know where the treasure is. Would you like to see it?" She snickered softly. "Don't worry, it's not far." 2 | 289

Tiga
|| Filly || Smol Pegasus || Apprentice Fury ||
Just as she expected everyone seemed excited for an adventure, a way to get out of this heat hopefully, except for the small pale fishy filly. From what she had learned this little fishy wasn't from Sedo, she was here for the time being though so Tiga would try to make her time in the scalding sands more bearable seeing as she was an albino the sun must be hurting her skin, that had to be why she was panting on her side in the shade after all while the rest were more used to the heat. The fishy seemed uninterested in the idea of the adventure, now turned treasure hunt, Saleen had proposed, but the older mare was trying her best to encourage the fishy to come along with them for the ride. Tiga decided she would help her. Greedily taking in Saleen's words first the small pegasus jumped for joy again, there was a treasure here?! It was close by even! Oh what could it be?! Her mind spun, imagination taking flight and soaring beyond all expectations, oh what could it be Alya! Moving away from the gathered group of children with excitement in her steps Tiga was going to make an effort to coax the baby fishy into wanting to come with them. The small pegasus bounced toward where the fishy was resting and lowered her head towards the filly's before smiling widely at her, joy flashing across her warm violet eyes. "It will be fun little fishy, come along with us and see the treasure! Don't you want to?" She took a moment to glance back at Saleen and flashed the Mullah apprentice the same happy grin, "Saleen will take care of us on this adventure and I can help shade you from the mean sun with my big strong wings!" Tiga flapped her long gold tipped wings, causing a breeze to float over the fishy, trying to emphasize her words, "Come on, let's go on an adventure!"

Helene
The children seemed to be happy, but Helene was skeptical. An adventure would help in keeping the foal’s occupied, even if the two older mares would have to keep a close eye on the more rambunctious ones. However, it seemed that even the little trouble-makers were more interested in this little quest. Hopefully those little ones would keep in line while they moved. When the Mullah apprentice mentioned where they were going however, Helene’s eyes narrowed in suspicion. This little adventure started to smell like trouble to her. The mare tilted her head and looked at Saleen, getting to her hooves under the shade and trotted up near her. “What is this treasure Saleen, this won’t get us in trouble will it?” she whispered to the younger pegasus. It was quite the shock to see the little filly shoot up like a weed after drinking an aging potion, now a year younger than her, even if they had never talked much she had seen her around. Age, however, wouldn’t bar them from getting in trouble with the adults, and being the oldest equine in their group would mean she’d have to be responsible for all of them. Helene especially didn’t like getting in trouble, it made her feel like she’d failed at something. So, if this little excursion was even the least bit dangerous or if she even caught a whiff of trouble, Helene would have no problems leading them all right back here. She wasn’t about to get punished with the rest of the young horses. Perhaps she was a good-two-hooves, but that didn’t matter. All that mattered was keeping them all out of trouble and danger.

Noatak
Eyes caught the sight of others coming near, it seemed Saleen had captured many with her words of treasure and adventure. While many seemed eager, Noa was bale to notice a few that were not so enthused. Which made him gulp lightly and draw himself out of the crowd a bit. Allowing him to rest near the edge of the group. Being around the main center of attention was not for him, it was nothing he enjoyed. Being the focus made him nervous, and feel as if his tongue was swollen and no word could be spoken by him. His fathers told him, he was just shy, but at times it seemed much more then that.
Still he glanced about as others talked and mumbled and of course Noa could not help but look at her. She was pale, and he felt sad in a sense. She didnt seem excited to go, infact she looked almost miserable, and when Saleen mentioned of the heat, he realized not everyone was so used to the heat. He chewed on his lowe rlip a bit anxiously as he glanced to her, but reminded himself not to stare. So of course he whipped his head int he exact opposite direction and kept top him self. He was staring out int he vast lands of sand, not even looking at anyone, but his ears remained alert ontop his head. Listening for the words of others.
Though his attention returned when he herd another older one talk to Pearl, the hippocampus he swore he would not stare at, because staring was rude. That was what his fathers had told him. But this mare was calling her fishy, and he inwardly gasped, was that a good thing to say? Was it bad? He wanted to sneak a glance at Pearl, and then he thought no he shouldn't. Eyes looked to Helen who was speaking to Saleen in hushed voices. Noa felt like this was going to be a mess of an adventure and already longed for the little root he was playing with.

The fanning of her feathers caused the small filly to flinch, she chewed the inside of her mouth. That was embarrassing. She looked away, looking down to the ground and carving away a line of annoyance with the tip of her soft hoof. The texture rattled up her leg and she flicked her head to look off away from the group. "I would like to stay out of this heat... Though I'm curious about what sort of treasure it is..." She mostly mumbled her last words.
"Little fishy!"
She could feel the fur ruffled and puff from offense. FISHY?! Pearl twisted her head to glare up at the filly who now had her wing spread over her. She gave an awkward flail of her legs and rolled herself back to her feet, avoiding the extra shade- No matter how welcoming it was- And stood aside with a small, angry pout. "It is Pearl to you. Or Princess. I do not like being called a fish. I am not that." She frowned, heat burning in her face as her voice had risen from her little outburst. Pearl's head lowered and her empty lilac eyes returned to the ground Pearl swallowed hard and crossed a leg over, her spine fin shimmering in the sun rays that slipped through the gentle swaying of the tree leaves. "...I think our ideas of treasure is different. Knowledge is a treasure to me. What treasure could you have that would be fun? She questioned, jeering at both the older mare and younger filly. This already felt like a bad start to an adventure for her. She longed for the comfort of a blanket. Something soft. Anything really that would hide her. Pearl quickly dashed over to Haven, brushing her muzzle over her brother's rump and pressing herself as close as she could to the young colt. He'd do for safety- It was his fault she was out here in the first place.

Haven || Tenderfoot || Status: Not paying attention
Haven had been lost in his own little world, using his hooves to doodle flowers into the sand. He had been pleasantly surprised this morning when mama had agreed to let him go play with the other foals, and even more thrilled when he'd convinced Pearl to come along as well. It had been a great time so far, and Haven was more than happy to make friends with the other colts and fillies --wings or not-- but the sun beating down on him constantly had been tiring and he was taking full advantage of the break.
His ears perked and he grinned at the word adventure, looking eagerly to Saleen, but just as soon frowning as Pearl seemed far less enthused and got into a scuffle with Tiga. When he sister came to stand by him he reached around to nuzzle her cheek, "C'mon Pearl, she didn't mean a thing by it..." He said to her softly, ushering her to stand under his belly so he could shield her from the sun. Despite being her elder by only a week or so, Haven took it upon himself to care for her. "And if you think about it, learning what this treasure is would be getting knowledge wouldn't it? Maybe not anything you would learn from a book!" He added hopefully, wanting his sister to come along and have a good time as well.

SALEEN SERORAN MULLAH APPRENTICE
The Apprentice couldn't help but be slightly taken aback by how little these children trusted her. Kids were supposed to be easily convinced, were they not? Saleen laughed at the thought, and in reality was quite pleased with the fact, pray the children retain their stubbornness and keep out of any future trouble.
Adult thinking aside, a curled ear pricked toward Helene, who had a look of concern on her face. Saleen could sense the energy immediately, and returned to her a reassuring smile. "The last thing I would do is put these children in harm's way," she responded. She looked toward Tiga and Pearl and gave a soft giggle. "I only want to have some fun! Come on everyone, a little fun won't hurt, will it?"
She began to feel slightly uneasy when Pearl snapped at the pegasus. Her eyes narrowed and she took a careful step toward the white filly. "You're quite right, princess, and so is your brother," she added, her gaze turning warm. "I want to bring you to one of the shrines I help keep with the other Mullahs, and show you all the wonderful treasures of Alya! There I can teach you all about her." Saleen's expression turned into an ear-to-ear grin as she spoke of the goddess she adored. Quickly her eyes met Noatak's, who seemed to want nothing but to retreat and offered him a gentle smile as if to silently say "don't worry, I'll take care of you." The Mullah-in-training thought it would be a great experience for the Talori children, and equally as exciting for the young herdmates in her company; she would be their tour guide!
"Come on, guys! It's this way," the young mare exclaimed with a joyous glimmer in her eye. Using her maturing wings, she ushered the prince and princess to her side and motioned for the others to follow. While she couldn't show them Alya's most divine temple in the Sear, she would be more than delightful to share with them one of the most famous shrines in the city. It would be a divine learning experience for everyone, and Saleen was willing to do anything to see Pearl smile.
It wasn't but a few minutes before they arrived at the temple steps, polished red stone at their feet. Saleen was overjoyed to be in its presence. Working was always a delight to the young pegasus, and she longed to be in her god's presence. She prayed her friends would agree on its splendidness.
Craning her neck to properly appreciate the shrine's magnificent architecture, Saleen breathed a sigh of relief, as if being in its presence was like making the trip to the Temple in the Sear every single time. The colossal white marble building stood out like a diamond in the city center, and the construction of its domed roof was exceptionally impressive. The stain glass windows glinted brilliantly in the afternoon sun, and the intricate artistry and detailing framing each border was simply immaculate.
The young mare fanned out her wings in appreciation and looked behind her to her young escorts. "Welcome!"3 | 519

Tiga
|| Filly || Smol Pegasus || Apprentice Fury ||
In all her years Tiga had yet to run into a hippocampus who was offended when she called them fishy, that was what they were truthfully, a horse with fishy fins just like she was a horse with the wings of a bird. Tiga's mother often called her little bird or birdy so she assumed the small pale filly wouldn't be offended either so when Pearl snapped at her Tiga was dumbstruck. Her mouth moved but her embarrassment and regret caused her throat to catch the words she was trying to say and refused to let her speak. Oh Tiga you've messed up this time, her mind scolded. Her mouth suddenly felt dry as her heart screamed, she hadn't meant to offend the fis- Pearl. Her name was Pearl and she was a princess! Now the filly was mad at her and had run to her brother's side for comfort and protection. Tiga's wings went limp, her long gold tipped feathers dragging in the sand as her legs instinctively moved her towards Pearl slowly, sorrow consumed her heart and she could hear her mother scolding her, requiring she apologize now and make things right. Pearl's brother came to her defense but his words did little to make the Tiga feel better, only Pearl's forgiveness would do that now. "I didn't mean to offend you young princess...I'm so sorry..." Tiga's voice was soft, wavering with uncertainty as her head lowered and long ears fell back. Tears stung behind her violet eyes, it seemed her plan had backfired and she had only made things worse when she was only trying to help...why did she always do this? Tiga wanted to give herself a nice kick in the head, maybe that would teach her a lesson. The comforting voice of Saleen broke through to Tiga and pulled the pegasus out of her downward spiral as she motioned all of the children out of the courtyard, holding both the prince and princess close. Tiga moved to follow Saleen, making sure to keep her distance from the young Talorian prince and princess and kept her eyes on the sand, focusing on trying to not cry. She spend the majority of the trip to the temple in the center of the city like this, her mood faded and wings held loosely at her sides, long feathers occasionally brushing the stone and sand beneath their hooves. It wasn't until they reached the temple that Tiga's mood brightened once more, it was hard for one to be sad when you were basking in the glory of Alya herself and even if she had visited this temple before with her mother long ago the temple was still breathtaking. The young pegasus perked up, pride swelling in her chest as she took in a long, steadying breath of the goddess' air into her lungs. A smile lightened her melancholy face as her eyes finally found the courage to look at Saleen once more now that they were at their destination but decided to keep her big mouth shut, hoping if she remained quiet that maybe this time she wouldn't hurt anyone else's feelings.

Helene
A sigh of relief escaped Helene when Saleen told her it wasn’t going to be a troublesome trip. She trusted the younger mare of course, she just couldn’t stop her worry-wart of a mind. “Alright, thank you.” She said softly to the Pegasus and looked back at their little rag-tag group of children. She gave them all a great big smile “Let’s go then, kiddos! Stick close to Saleen and I.” She called out with a big grin. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Tiga. She’d heard a disturbance behind her while she and Saleen were talking and it looked like the little filly was heartbroken over getting rejected by the resident Talorian princess. Helene gave her a concerned look as their little group moved, moving to walk beside the Pegasus, brushing against her shoulder comfortingly. “It’s ok little one.” She muttered to the young filly. When their little group arrived at the entrance to Alya’s temple inside Osulas, Helene couldn’t help but grin. Seeing the massive structure, if compared to the other buildings around it, made her heart fill with joy. Though she was not born a Pegasus, Helene always wished she had been. Her mother had been a Pegasus, and it was always a sight to see her flying above the treetops in her first few years of life, in that odd time where she and her mother had been on their own and the only way she knew her father was through the stories Calliope told her. A pang of loss hit the young mare, like a swift kick to the heart. Her breath almost caught her throat before she recovered. There was no use thinking about that now. Now, Calliope was in Alya’s embrace. She was without pain now, at least Helene liked to believe. Mother had suffered enough towards the end of her life during the drought. She hoped that Calliope was happy. The painted mare gave the temple a sad smile. The least she could do is thank Alya for taking care of her mother in the afterlife.

Noatak
A quick intake of breath and for a moment all was still besides his ever beating heart. He could feel the conflict, the slight tension, could taste it like sweet berries. He was never a fan of such things, but it happened in life, especially as of late. Noa although never understanding what truly was happening in the herd, but he knew something was a miss. He asked as what was happening once before, but it was ignored and his attentions had turned elsewhere, such as children so easily distracted. But now feeling the light strain, he gulped and glanced at the others. Eyeing the two Talori children, siblings it seemed, before looking at Tiga and he felt a frown on his face. This wasn't going over very well. Though looking to Saleen and Helen, he picked up the pace and walked close to Saleen, finding comfort in the only one he was close to in this group.
As they walked along, Noa couldn't help but look at the others, he felt his mouth open as if wanting to say something, but quickly closed it instead, a light crimson color on his cheeks. Clearly to embarrassed or perhaps nervous to speak so freely with ones he did not know so well. He huffed a bit, wishing to himself he wasn't so... shy. Yet as they reached the temple. A temple dedicated to their winged Goddess Alya. Noa stopped moving and looked at it all. Taking in the structure, and he wondered what treasure would be here? Were they even allowed here? He felt almost a crushing weight on him, the idea of him being in here. It felt right and yet wrong? A powerful force to be reckond with was Alya and this was her temple. Noa gulped lightly and looked to the others for a moment, before once more drawing his eyes back to the temple. Saleen had welcomed them here, and yet still Noa lingered a bit. "Im nervous." he but merely whispered.

Pearl was grateful for her brother's extra shade, she had gotten wrapped up between his legs. The filly's apology had fallen on deaf ears, Pearl was too grumbly to accept the apology. "It's...Not funny though...Fishy sounds so...Degrading." She frowned, averting her gaze and letting out a heavy sigh. Admitting defeat was the hardest part. The sun was going to be the worst part about this trip and she knew it would be ridiculous to let all the other foals down. Saleen was trying so hard to get her to feel some sort of excitement for the adventure and so was her brother. ".....Okay."
She slowly got back to her feet, crawling out from beneath her brother when the small group began to move towards a beautifully large piece of architecture. Pearl kept her eyes glued to the ground as they walked, she couldn't look up just yet, the sun was too bright. She hummed to herself, a small lullaby she had learned from a book about this red land. They reached the steps of the shrine. Pearl bumped into a foal's bottom. Noatak's.
Her humming ceased and looked up to see who was the victim of her headbutting. She stared at his rump at first, the little accident not quit registering in her head before her eyes slowly trailed up along his spine and to a neck- Oh! "S-Sorry... I didn't mean to... I wasn't look where I was going... Uh..." Pearl took a few steps back. That was the Sultan's son. She could offend him or something. Her head sunk as her ears swung backwards from the embarrassment of knocking into another foal. Stupid eyes... Stupid light!
"I'll just...Stand over here." She excused herself, walking a little ways from the group and standing by herself. It was strange standing so isolated but- That was a stupid move. Such a stupid thing to do. Pearl clenched her jaw tightly as she lifted her head to look up at what was so glorious- What was so important to Saleen. The temple. The way the architecture was carved- Pearl had to give whomever the credit. It was beautiful. Breath taking. A little smile threatened to tug at the corners of her mouth, she gave in. She smiled with her wide. pale eyes, lashes fluttering as she squinted against the sunlight- She was going to look at this temple whether her eyes would let her look or not!
Pearl dropped her head to look over at Saleen welcoming them to the temple- The fanning over her wings startled the filly. She quickly bolted to the side in a short distance with a grunt. A deep, long, exhale followed and she stood with another grouchy looking face. What was with all the wing displays? She just wanted them to be still- To not move. Please. It was rather pathetic. She was rather pathetic, she was so thankful she was standing quite a distance from the group now- Hopefully no one saw her silly reaction to the mare's wings Buh.

SALEEN SERORAN MULLAH APPRENTICE
Pressing her wings back to her sides, the pegasus began her approach toward the shrine doors. Before opening them she turned back toward her little friends. "Come, everyone," she ushered, turning to Pearl, motioning for her to come closer, and then to little Noatak. She continued. "There is nothing to fear. Alya's shrine is a place of peace and tranquility. I would like to encourage you to keep an open mind." Finishing with another warm smile, she extended a wing down to Noatak and extpanded her crest feathers. "Come now, little bird, don't be nervous - it'll be alright. Just stay close, okay?" She paused, giving her long time friend a nuzzle on his forelock and looked once more to the rest of the group. "Oh, and please... don't take anything out of its case. If there's anything you'd like to see closer, just let me know!"
Turning on a hoof, the Mullah Apprentice finally pushed open the doors to the shrine. Their heaviness created a loud creak that echoed throughout the premises. Subtly she turned her head to watch for the children's reactions, hoping they loved what they saw.
The inside of the temple was on par with the extravagance of its exterior, albeit much more darker, with burnt orange marble walls and smooth, deep brown flooring. The sanctum's single room interior was lit only by candlelight, a massive six foot painting of Alya displayed on its far wall, directly in sight of the door. Many elaborately embroidered pillows lay on the floor in front of the painting - pillows for horses to kneel and pray to the sky goddess. On the floor below the painting, a table for offerings.
Along the other walls were more paintings of all things in relation to Alya - some ancient, from a time when Alya ruled the Serorans herself, and some more modern - painted by the herd's more recent members. Below each painting, a display with encased relics found over the millennium since Alya's return to the skies. Perhaps none so fascinating as ones that may be found at the temple at the southern border of Sedo, but remarkable nonetheless. Small pieces of armour from Alya's warriors, jewelry, preserved feathers, et cetera - treasures that one could not find just lying around any longer.
But there was one that Saleen was drawn to in particular. One relic in which no one knew of its origins, what its purpose was. A treasure that stood out from the rest. The Apprentice approached its case without hesitation.
The relic took the form of a heavy 3 dimensional puzzle, a perfect cube that measured 5 inches long on each border. It consisted of 106 more tiny cubes that were interconnected and could be manipulated in such a way that they could move to a different point on the object. The exposed face of each of the smaller cubes was engraved with gold markings. Perhaps all of these markings were intended to match up one way or another.
There was only one way to find out.
Carefully, Saleen opened the resin casing and removed the cube object. If this strange looking thing did something, she wanted to be the first to find out. She held it in front of the children and gave a gleeful grin. "Anyone good at puzzles?" 4 | 548
OOC: Hello everyone! Feel free to have your kids take a crack at the puzzle. She's a little more difficult than the typical Rubik's Cube, because the sides aren't colour coordinated and it's twice as big, but have a go!

Haven || Tenderfoot || Status: Pearl plz
Haven was torn between staying with his new friends and going to be by his sister's side. A hidden, mean and awful part of his mind was frustrated with her for being so timid and liking books more than people; but he couldn't be mad at her, none of that was her fault and so he did move over to her side, against positioning himself so that his shadow would fall over her smaller form. "It'll be okay Pearl, I'm here after all." He nickered softly in attempts to comfort her.
He stayed by his sister's side as the group all filed into the temple, Haven took in everything with wide-eyed wonder. Of course Cascade help all of his devotion, but Alya couldn't be too bad if her temples looked like this right? "Look Pearl, Knowledge!" He whisper-shouted down to the pale filly, hoping at least that would get him a grin. Then Saleen pulled out the puzzle and Haven's jaw just about dropped. His mama would tell him riddles and puzzles to solve almost every night, which was one of his favorite parts of their routine, so at the prospect of solving this glittering gold puzzle he bounced on his hooves in excitement.
"Oh oh, let me see!" He shouted out, forgetting his manners for a moment before quickly reeling himself in, "I mean, um, may I have a look, miss Saleen, please?"

Noatak
Eyes were downcast as he glanced at his hooves, and suddenly he felt a push from behind, making the young colt stumble forwards a bit. Head whipped over his shoulder to see what had happened. It when when he searched this his own blue eyes saw those of pale coloring, and he realized it was pearl. He was going to speak, truly he was, but it seemed Pearl was quicker. She was apologizing, and Noa shook his head as if saying no need to apologize. He opened his mouth to speak, but she retreated and he felt his mouth go dry. Ears flickered back as he watched her retreat off away from others, only to have the brother come and comfort her. Noa frowned a bit sadly, he should have said something, even his own sibling scolded him for not speaking more, but here he was not saying a word again. Yet everything was moving to quickly to allow his mind to try and process this feleing, and soon Saleen was ushering them in. He followed after he quickly, brushing against her leg in a sense of comfort and letting out a small hum in his throat. He was nervous of course, this wasn't going as smoothly as he had hoped. Everyone looked as if they could get along? But they weren't. Though Saleen was quick and found something for them too look at it. Noa heard the voice Haven and looked over watching as he tried to get Pearl in a better mood. Noa swallowed dryly, eyeing them a bit wondering if he could catch Pearl's eye offer a smile, to know it was okay. Since clearly the little colt was failing with words once more. Though as Haven asked to see this odd thing, Noa took a step back and moved over towards Helene. He looked up to her and offered her a light smile. " Are you good at puzzles?" he asked so softly to her. Noa was thankful he managed to spill those words out, at least try to seem normal. As for puzzles for himself? He was terrible at them. It wasn't for him, he much preferred the care of plants and animals over such things. Post 3 WC|| 370

Helene
Helene was in awe when she saw the inside of the temple. She had yet to go into the building since being sent to Osulas by her father to protect her. Then again, she easily got lost in the city thanks to only setting foot in the sprawling mass of buildings during the festival times. So really it wasn’t that much of a surprise that she never entered the sanctum of the temple. However, now gazing upon the inside she was shocked at how lavish and beautiful it looked. The artistry hanging on the sides of the wall were gorgeous, it made her the tiniest bit jealous that she couldn’t use a brush to paint even a cactus. The artifacts sitting inside the glass cases were amazing. She didn’t even know relics that ancient still existed in the world. She’d certainly never seen them growing up in the sands of Sedo. It amazed her that such ancient relics still existed, some even from the time Alya was still walking the world! It brought an excited grin to her face as she gazed around at the ancient history. It fascinated her so much. However, when Saleen brought out the giant puzzle cube from its solitary glass case, she was surprised that such a thing was allowed. Then again, Saleen was the Mullah apprentice, not her, so she couldn’t say whether it was alright to do or not. When Saleen said they could try and solve the puzzle, Helene smiled when Haven trotted right up to Saleen and asked to solve it. It was good that one of the Talori children was out of their shell and excited to try something new. Watching Haven, the dappled mare slightly jumped when Noatak sildled up against her and questioned her on puzzles. Helene smiled and settled down on a nearby pillow, having the feeling that they were going to be here for a while as the children attempted to solve the mystery of the cube. “I’m not sure really, I never got to play with puzzles growing up.” She admitted, smiling gently at the little foal.

The shadow was there again, her brother. He seemed to always find a way to come to her side and reassure her- Well, try to. She glanced up to him, her muzzle catching the roundness of his barrel and y'know what? It was.. Nice. She pressed her muzzle even harder against his side and closed her eyes with a deep inhale of his scent. As her head slid off to be hiding under his stomach, she noticed the Sultan's son looking in their direction. Her eyes widened slightly, was he judging her now? Her cheeks burned with a tinge of crimson creeping upon them, she quickly looked away to hide her face within the safety of her brother's body.
The older mare seemed to be attracting everyone's attention with a large cube. Her brother having before hand mentioned how there was knowledge, how the temple was filled with curiosities for them to explore and learn together. She couldn't disagree but she didn't really...Want to explore or become a nerd around everyone else. They were foals. They weren't into reading and learning, they wanted to play and have fun. Pearl frowned, she couldn't...Quite have fun- It was all serious. It had to be taken seriously. At least in her eyes. Haven had already bolted off for that cube. His voice ringing out and causing the small filly to flatten them in a twang of pain.
It would be fine if he wasn't loud. They all were loud. Pearl slowly followed in after the rest of the group, looking idly at the large golden cube. Maybe when the other foals lost interest, maybe when they found it boring that they couldn't solve it, only then would she get to look at it herself. She didn't doubt they'd fail to solve it- Even if they were older. Older didn't equate to smartness. They didn't indulge in books, she wondered if they knew anything about their culture already? Had they already read anything? Probably not... She pursed her lips slightly, eyes flickering off to the side for anything else to look at that wouldn't burn her curiosity as much as the cube did. She really wanted to look- But just... gotta play it safe right now.

Tiga
|| Filly || Smol Pegasus || Apprentice Fury ||
Helene seemed to be the only one aware of the filly's inner turmoil around having offended the princess and made enemies rather than the friends she had hoped for. The older mare's words soothed the storm in her heart some but she still felt the heat of embarrassment and self loathing kept the filly from being her usual self. Being herself had caused Pearl to greatly dislike her and Tiga didn't want the others to look upon her with the same eyes so she kept her attention on the sand at her hooves, completely missing the awkward interactions between Pearl and Noatak. In an effort to control herself and not disturb the others as they entered the temple behind Saleen Tiga tucked her long wings and held them firmly closed at her sides, she had broken more than her fair share of delicate things with them on accident. While her mother had a small shine to Alya in their home it was nothing compared to the beauty of the temple, Tiga's violet eyes grew wide as they greedily took in everything about the temple. She tried to absorb every detail of each painting on the walls as her long ears half listened to Saleen speak as she withdrew the curious cube from it's display case and offered it to the children. Tiga knew this was where she didn't shine, her mother had always complimented her on her curious mind but the filly knew she wasn't terribly smart, curious didn't equal smart. As she moved to the next painting Tiga's expert mule ears took in the excited voice of Haven as he offered to solve the puzzle and the filly internally grumbled, of course it would be one of the Talorian royalty that would solve their Seroran puzzle from Alya...her lack of knowledge and inability to solve the riddle stabbed at the filly's pride and caused her to abandon the rest of the paintings and relics before truly admiring each. She slowly walked back towards the group and stood beside Haven, her eyes fixated upon the cube, if he was going to try to solve it Tiga was going to try to help him, she didn't want to be looked down upon by Alya in her own temple. "May I help?" The filly asked softly, a bit bashful around Haven because she had offended his sister. She might not hold the wisdom of others but she was partially cunning, even if she solely used that trait in tactical training and not puzzle solving Tiga's optimistic nature pushed aside this fact. She could do anything if she put her mind to it, right?

SALEEN SERORAN MULLAH APPRENTICE
The young priestess beamed at the children's brimming excitement. If there really was something great to come out of this puzzle, she was proud they would be the first to know. But if it were something of the opposite? If it were to bestow a curse upon their sacred land? Or to open into a black hole and consume all of Hireath entirely?
Highly unlikely of course, Saleen thought to herself. Though her concern overall was well accounted for, as this object, suffice to mention its origins, was entirely unknown. The pegasus fluttered her lashes, emerging from her thoughts. With a smirk, she carefully handed the relic to Haven, who offered to give the first go at solving it. The young Talorian colt was quickly captivated by the complex puzzle, and eagerly rotated each column and row of cubes until he had solved an entire face of the puzzle.
The glittering etchings of the revealed face disclosed a front-facing image of Alya, each of her wings fully expanded in flight.
"Who's next?" Saleen exclaimed as Haven handed the cube back to her. The young pegasus Tiga was next to offer, and as Saleen handed her the puzzle, her attention flickered to Noatak and Helene. Tiga immediately began working on the relic as the Mullah motioned for the other two Serorans to come closer.
In no time, the shrine became quiet as the young horses desperately tried to reveal the final five faces. It was passed back and forth between the children as the hours passed and the sun slowly began to set. Tempers rose and patience began to boil over, for each time one column was solved, one previously completed was a jumble once again.
"Ashes on the wind," the red painted pegasus grumbled in eminent frustration. It was fair to say at that point, everyone was ready to throw the relic out the window. But these kids were not about to give up. With a furrow of her brow she spun each row and column randomly as she grumbled under her breath, just about ready to quit. They were so close.
Saleen felt all eyes on her as she all but cursed, rarely did she explode, but eyes quickly widened as she focused back on the cube. Only four pieces left to fall into place. Taking her time now, she rotated the final four columns and rows until the final pieces were in place. The priestess breathed a sigh of relief.
But nothing happened.
"This isn't right," Saleen cried, looking at each face more carefully. Each panel glimmered with remarkable golden drawings of ancient Sedo, from landscapes to people, and each panel featuring an image of Alya herself.
Silently, she set the cube down. Saleen pinned her ears and looked to each of the children, silently apologizing for the wasted time. She burned her gaze into the relic before her.
Still, it did nothing.
With a scoff she picked it up once again and examined each side carefully just once more, to make sure they hadn't missed something. They hadn't. The pegasus sulked and carefully traced her touch over the image, a tear nearly emerging from the corner of her eye as she skimmed over each image of her god. She looked back at each of the horses in her company and inhaled deeply. Was all this for nothing?
Tightly, she gripped onto the relic. "We tried."
Silence.
Regret.
Suddenly, a vibration.
The pegasus' crest feathers fanned out vibrantly and her ears perked at the feeling. What? She shrieked silently and rose to her feet. The vibrations grew more intense. She lifted the cube to her ear, and listened closely to the mechanical noises coming from within. She held the cube out to the group. "Something is happening! Come, feel!" The vibrating continued to grow more severe, and the object began making clicking noises. Then, it began to shake violently.
It then grew still and silent. With one last click, the first side they had revealed raised from the others and opened up to reveal a small golden box inside its chamber. Before removing it, Saleen found herself distracted by the mechanisms beneath each panel. From the outside, the box seemed so ancient with its rock heavy primordial body and hand carved and painted etchings. Yet from within, it looked astonishingly futuristic, filled with gears and interlocking pieces of metal that each had their own purpose. Deep within her mind she wondered, who made such a strange artifact, and how? She simply could not comprehend it.
"How extraordinary," the young mare exclaimed at a whisper. Carefully she extracted the smaller, more fragile box. It was much easier to open, and for that Saleen was thankful. But the feeling didn't last. She set the larger box down and opened the new one to reveal its contents. Once one panel opened, each of the other faces opened at the seams until it formed a flat sheet of golden foil, three squares long and two squares wide. On one side, it was engraved with ancient Seroran scripture, its penmanship nearly illegible.
Flipping the thin sheet over revealed a riddle.
"In the North there lives a family, each lost something dear... Once returned the door will open, allowing you to draw near.
The brave father lost his heart, his courage died within, Only in the dead of night can the coals be rekindled again.
The kind mother lost her way, her wings gave out in flight, Only a gift from Alya herself is bound to make things right.
The dear child lost their faith, their spirit doomed to drown, Remove all of their childish fears and be met with great renown." 4 | 948

NOATAK
He nodded to Haven and he oddly felt the same, never really dabbling with such things, though perhaps he would give it a try? He walked up with the others and watched as everyone had their share. Watching how it worked, and trying to wrap his mind around it. Once handed to him, he felt himself gulp nervously, suddenly not wanting the eyes of others on him at this moment. But still he wanted to try, to branch out like what his dads wanted him too. Also, he really wanted to try it for himself. Spending a few minutes on it, he enjoyed the idea behind it, able to turn it here and there, and it seemed for a bit he lacked the desire to really solve it, but to see how it turns this way and that. A snort of someone made him snap back to the real reason they were given this. Feeling the heat rise to his cheeks he passed it off to the next one in line. Eyes glanced downwards, before he turned his head and was looking at a few others things. Eyeing them lightly with a curious nature, perhaps his dads would take him here? Noa thought it would be fun, and they could bring his little sister as well! Yes that would be nice, he thought happily to himself.
Attention returned to Saleen as she began to work on the puzzle. He felt his little wings fluff up as he felt the frustrated energy of her. "I believe in you." he whispered to her. It was the only amount of encouragement he could muster up. His cheeks still heated as he was slowly finding his place among this little group. Eyes lit up as she solved it, and he hummed in his throat with delight, the sound odd and cheerful. Yet nothing was happening, but still it all went smoothly all the images did it not? Noa didn't quite understand, but suddenly the relic was vibrating, and he felt his wings fluff up and himself take a quick intake of breath. That was not normal, things dont suddenly move especially when they all turned it this way and that way. Saleen suggested for them to feel and all Noa could do was stand still and shake his head no profoundly. No no no no! He didnt like this, not one bit.
Suddenly it stopped moving and Noa let out the breath he was holding in, but suddenly it clicked and he was holding his breath and standing as still as a statue. Eyes staring at the relic until Saleen messed with and suddenly she was musing with it once more pulling some out within it and then a piece of something? He didnt really know honestly. But soon the words of the paper filled the air and he snorted a bit arching a brow. What did they lose? Noa was confused by its words, his eyes turned to Saleen and then to Haven, the older ones in this group. "What does it mean?" he asked with a softly.

Pearl had found herself wandering of around the shrine. She took the time to really indulge in the architecture, the airy feeling of this grand place. It offered a cooling relief compared to the heat outside, a soft breeze sweeping calmly through the shrine. She found a pillar to sit against and watch the other foals attempt to solve the cube. It did make her giggle, she couldn't help it.
The shade was real. She was judging all the other foals, they were older yet they were having such a hard time trying to solve the cube. Pearl did feel a little shame for her brother however, she expected him to have done it. To have solved it no problem, he wasn't as smart as her- But he wasn't like the other foals either. Haven you let her down. Pearl's head would begin to slowly weigh itself to the floor. She was getting tired.
The fumbling and muttering of the others made her ears swivel in attention as they continued to try and solve it. "Something is happening!" Pearl's head shot up, she scrambled to her feet haphazardly and cantered over with what little energy she could muster. She slammed her front feet down as she slid into Saleen. It didn't matter that she slammed into the older mare, there was something new happening! She glared at everyone as if to ask who the heck solved it before looking up at the delicate piece of gold. Pearl flattened her ears, leaning against Saleen as she read the riddle aloud.
"....Do you think perhaps it's a riddle for all of Hireath?"

Helene
The painted mare smiled as she watched the children attempt to solve the cube from her new comfy spot on the prayer pillows. She hoped Alya wouldn’t mind that, she didn’t want to stand around all the time. Only the gods knew how long it would take for the children to solve the cube and she was sure she’d eventually get weary of standing for so long, even if her legs were very well developed thanks to marching around the desert for her whole life. She was happy when Tiga seemed excited about the surrounding relics. The little filly had become down when she accidentally offended Pearl. She hoped the little princess would eventually forgive Tiga. The mule had already apologized to the youngest filly. Helene gave a small sigh, only Pearl could decide when to give Tiga her forgiveness. Time passed as the children worked on the puzzle, eventually the cube made it to her. Helene had an infinite amount of patience but even this difficult puzzle tried that. It didn’t help that Helene had lived in the desert for her whole life and had never played with a puzzle before. Helene’s tongue eventually crept out of her mouth as she attempted to solve the puzzle. After a few minutes of twisting and turning the puzzle, solving one side but having to destroy that perfect face to solve another one, Helene made a frustrated grumble before gently handing it off to one of the children. She took a deep breath and gave the foal a smile, “Maybe you can solve it, little one.” she told the child before making her way over to Saleen. “Who knew such a tiny thing would be so difficult.” The dappled mare muttered to herself, exhaustion etched deep into her voice. Helene was nearly asleep on her feet when Saleen cried out. Head snapping up with a force that could probably break her neck, Helene looked towards the smaller filly with her eyes wide as she watched the cube start to shiver and hum. The temple was suddenly silent as they all watched the cube quiver as one of the faces slowly started to open. Breath caught in her throat, she listened as Saleen read out the riddle lying within the cube. Helene, ever the optimist, squinted and glared at the paper. “Another riddle?” she sighed to herself, dreading more long thinking sessions to figure out what the riddle was. “Perhaps this will be easier…please let this be easier Alya!” she muttered.

Tiga
|| Filly || Smol Pegasus || Apprentice Fury ||
Large violet eyes fell upon the cube as it was handed to Haven and the colt went quickly to work, the way the cube's faces moved and slid fascinated the filly, she couldn't pry her eyes from Haven as he worked. Her mind buzzed with so many questions and found no answers as she silently waited for her turn at the cube, within no time the Talorian prince has solved an entire face and revealed a beautiful etched picture of Alya, her wings unfurled in flight. Tiga bounced with excitement as Saleen pried the cube from the colt and passed it to her next, her progress with the cube was slower than that of Haven but she enjoyed every second of it...until the columns and rows stopped sliding easily into place. Embarrassment flushed the filly's cheeks as she began grumbling to herself, she was getting stuck and had finished far less than Haven had. Pride now thoroughly wounded caused the filly's feathers to flusher and ruffle as she begrudgingly passed the cube back to Saleen and it was passed off to the Sultan's son, Noatak. The shy colt's face flushed much like Tiga's had but the heat upon his cheeks was because he was terribly shy, Tiga felt a pang of envy wash over her. He hadn't pissed off Pearl, because he was quiet and didn't offend the princess with his over abundance of words like Tiga had. Her eyes wandered to the temple as the cube was passed around further, each in the group giving their best to help solve the puzzle...minus Pearl who walked about the temple. Tiga found her eyes trailing after the fishy princess, longing pulled at her heartstrings, she just wanted another friend...Her attention was pulled back to the cube when Saleen sighed before speaking to the cube. Each of its faces were perfect and pristine and yet nothing had come of their efforts. The filly fell back on her haunches, landing in a sitting position beside Saleen, defeat pulled at her features and caused her eyes to glisten, tear hiding just behind the surface. It had been all for naught...she had pissed off the princess for a futile adventure. Tiga clenched her jaw, fighting back the waves of despair and disappointment that threatened to over take the tired filly but then Saleen's voice rose in her ears again. What? A vibration! It was working?! Oh Alya! The filly leaped back to her hooves and peered at the cube and saw it gently rumbling- then the first side they had solved popped open and revealed a box hidden within a box and within that box was a riddle that Saleen read aloud for everyone. Tiga's long ears fell back, her mind was blank. She was a curious child, not a smart one like those Talorian children. Her eyes flicked between all in the temple and chewed on her lower lip, what did it mean? Father...rekindled in the dead of night? Mother...only a gift of Alya can make things right? Child...lost their faith and is doomed to drown? That the hell did it all mean? And how in Alya's name could all those clues point toward and place? "In the North there lives a family, each lost something dear...Once returned the door will open? North of where?" The filly mused softly, almost to herself. North of here was Sirith but yet north of there was Onea. But that only worked if the starting point of this 'north was where they were. North of where? Here? Eithne? Onea? Aquore? Sirith? North of where?!

SALEEN SERORAN MULLAH APPRENTICE
Confusion was quick to fill the room as the young mare finished reading the riddle aloud. Saleen must admit, she was also slightly lost. All these hours solving the cube, and now this? More work? The pegasus sulked a little bit, ears flicking to each individual as they reacted to the riddle.
"What does it mean?" Pondered little Noatak. "Perhaps it's a riddle for all of Hireath?" Suggested Pearl, to which Saleen responded with a shake of her head. "I don't think so... I mean -it could be- but remember the artifact; all the markings were specific to these lands, and Alya was painted all over it... surely it must be somewhere here..." she paused, hoping. "But where?"
Saleen turned to the slightly older mare Helene, and pinned her ears. She looked to be just as lost as the rest of them. Surely, she didn't blame her. Saleen frowned, just as Tiga began to pipe up. "North of where?" she questioned with evident lack of patience. The young priestess didn't blame her either, for she wanted to get this riddle solved and over with. She just wanted to know what it lead to, already!
"Let's really think here for a moment, everyone." Saleen blurted, glancing at the gold foil in her grasp, its glimmer reflecting off the sun through the window behind her and onto her complexion. "Both Pearl and Tiga are right, perhaps this relic isn't in Sedo, but since this continent is where the relic was found in the first place, it is where we should begin our search." The mare paused for a brief moment, contemplating, then rose to her feet.
She quickly moved to a desk near the back of the shrine, its surface stacked with dozens of books. She carefully removed one from the bottom and opened its contents, flipping through the old manilla pages until she came upon a map. She brought it back to the group, pausing to look toward the door to make sure no one was coming, and then laid down, focusing in on the map. Removing a quill that had been bookmarking one of the pages, she pointed to their current location. "Well, this is where we are... in Osulas, its one of the northernmost marked locations in Sedo, but there is still much north of us." She moved the quill upward, encircling a forested area near the border between Sedo and Sirith. "I should assume if it is a family we are looking for, they live somewhere here." She curled her tongue over her upper lip and chewed on it slightly, looking at all the horses in her presence to ensure they were still focused and listening. She continued. "However, the relic was found somewhere down here," she moved the quill down the page to an area adjacent to the Valley of Melodies, near the Oasis. "So saying that, if the cube had been there all along, whoever we are looking for could be anywhere north of there..." Saleen cringed. That was a lot of land to cover, and it certainly could not be done in one day. They would have to narrow it down even more.
Saleen paused again, looking to her friends, hoping someone had an additional suggestion. Her brain was already getting sore. 5 | 547

Noatak
Eyes glanced as Pearl rejoined the group, and he steadied her nerves and gave her a friendly smile, after earlier he wanted to try and make sure she felt welcomed around them all. He wasn;t great with words, so he spoke through actions instead. Yet she offered her own words to what everything meant, and Noa felt foolish all the more. He really didn't understand it at all, he wasn't quite good with these sort of things. Riddles and words, tended to be a bit confusing for him. It was much easier to watch actions over understanding words from others. Still he looked around at the others, as they offered up thoughts or questions.
Saleen though gave them something to ponder as she brought out a map and allowed everyone to gather and look. Noa looked at the map, trying to focus, but instead was looking at the locations, trying to remember bits and pieces from his own lessons. Valley of Melodies. He really liked that place, filled with plants and flowers, and the rocks were neat and deep red. it always felt as if Alya was there with the winds that flowed through the lands, the large rocks never holding back the wind. Eyes looked to the others as they all seemed to either look at the map or at Saleen. Noa couldn't help but sigh a bit defeated like, truly he was lost. As the son of the Sultan, he felt a bit like a shame, not good with puzzles or words and here they all were looking at this map, and he really didnt know. Noa bit on his lower lip and he kept quiet, he had no idea and every inch of him begged for silence, and to not open his mouth and make a fool of himself.
