Gulliver & Liliai Time period: current
LILIAI It was still fairly early in the morning; the sun was up but it wasn't yet scorching, the grass was still wet from the morning dew and birds were chirping. To Liliai, it looked like just the perfect morning for some exploration. But no, his brother Njall had said she was to stay put, and not even think about getting into trouble. That went fine for a moment, until Liliai grew way too bored and figured she'd be back before her brother would even have a chance to know she was gone.
The two siblings had set camp near the mountain side after refilling some needed necessities from town. Liliai remembered hearing about a talented medic living somewhere not too far, and as she always had her ear to the ground about these things, she was very keen to see if she could meet up with his medic. Her mother had been a decent mentor, but Liliai didn't truly feel nowhere ready in her rank, and who better to learn from than someone experienced? She didn't know what she could offer in trade for any mentoring, or if her brother would even let her stay long enough to learn anything worthwhile, but still. Trying sure was a lot better than sitting around all day. Liliai set out, not actually too sure of the direction, following the mountain side and watching her step as she went.

1 | 276The stallion had been up before the sun, making his way through his messy house and out the door. His breath swirled before his muzzle as he stepped out into the early morning chill. He glanced toward the horizon, squinting as the first light started to appear, but the sun stayed hidden. Closing his door, he took off in a brisk trot down the trail. He always took the same trail; it looped past his house, up the mountain, and then back down. It was just long enough that he could get his legs a good stretch, but stayed close enough to the house so he could drag himself back if his legs gave out.
Speaking of his legs, he noticed a lack in pain in them that morning. They were perhaps a little stiff, but not as bad as they usually were. This is what he liked about the warmer weather of summer; his bone actually cooperated.
He held his trot for a while before dropping to a walk to catch his breath. It was then that he heard other steps on the trail before him. The medic's ears flattened, eyes narrowing. He glanced around him quickly to try to find somewhere to step off the path, but it seemed as though crossing their path was unavoidable.
Letting out a large sigh, he pulled himself to a stop, his nostrils flaring as he took in deep breaths to appease his lungs. Sweat stuck to parts of his coat, mostly under his mane. He waited as the stranger appeared on the trail, but kept his mouth shut. Maybe they would just pass by and ignore him.
