MUIRIS OF IRON STRIDENever trust a survivor until you find out what he did to stay alive.
The day had been slow, from the moment Muiris pulled himself to his hooves to start his shift from the time he dropped his light cloak to the ground after his work was over. He stood beside his sloppily pitched tent, scowling at the possibility of a scavenger trying to pick through it while he was gone. A glance around his campsite showed that they had not taken anything- not that there was much to take in the first place. With a sigh, he pulled his thick hair from its tie, shaking his neck to let it fall loose against his damp skin. Avon sat at his side, her thick tail wrapped around her coarse white paws as she stared up at the large stallion, as if awaiting an order.
Typically, Muiris would turn in for the night. He would lay by his tent and watch the sun go down, waiting for the stars to shine their brightest before giving in to sleep with his wolf companion tucked against his side. However, things had been changing. He had a girlfriend now and no matter how much he wanted to just collapse on his pile of pelts, that was not something he had time for at the moment.
Stepping around his familiar, he told her to remain at camp. He watched out of the corner of his eye as she placed herself on the outside of his tent, bright golden eyes fixated on his form in case he happened to change his mind. Muiris pulled his attention back to the path before him and took on a light trot, his long tail dragging behind him as his massive hooves crushed through the tall grass and weeds. Since receiving his blessing, Muiris has been more.. aware of his size. While others may not feel it, he felt the ground shake beneath each of his steps, his heightened connection to the Earth constantly reminding him where he - or anyone else for that matter - placed their weight. It was a helpful tool.. most of the time.
It didnt take long for the thick treeline to thin, leading out to soft grass and plowed dirt. He squinted against the bright light of the setting sun, picking his way across the farmlands before settling on a small, worn path. He didnt visit the farmlands often, though he still knew the way to Ezmeralda's family farm by heart. It took a lot for the stallion to get lost; that was something he could pride himself in, at least.
He soon came upon the familiar farm, pausing to glance at the livestock before poking his way around the property to see if the painted mare was out and about. It was then that he found himself at the door of the farmhouse, peering in through an open window before knocking on the door with three soft rasps of his hoof.
"Ezmeralda? Are you home?" He called before stepping back and flicking his messy forelock from his dark amber eyes.

Ezmeralda | War-Forged | Herder
Slow life on the farm was a relaxing change after the havoc that was often herding especially bighorn sheep through the rough terrain of Onea. They always seemed to get into some sort of trouble and need either Ezmeralda or her sister, Roselia, to rescue them from their doom. While she loved her job and cherished the work that she was able to do, Ezmeralda had to admit that it was a nice change to be able to relax in a familiar, comfy chair and curl her long tail around herself like a blanket while she read a book that she had been slowly chipping away at for months. The days were long and uneventful... but after the events of a few months ago, uneventful and dull were completely fine by her.
Her dreams were still plagued with nightmares of that terrible night when she and her fellow herders had been raided by the Bloody Flanks, a clan that she had believed until then was only folklore and myths. She remembered their twisted faces as they stole the few precious belongings that the poverty-ridden herders had and the blood that was spilled in that field as the raiders slashed open wounds on defenseless horses. The very thought of her friend, Gosslyn, made her hair rise on the back of her neck, and fear and anxiety ripped through her at the terrible possibilities of what had become of her. Had they killed her? Sold her for a pretty penny as a Aodhian slave?
The ideas of Gosslyn's fate and her memories of that night made her stomach twist, and she closed the book she had been reading to walk over to the front window of the farmhouse that overlooked her family farm and the fields where her sheep were currently looking for a place to rest after a long day of grazing. She gently lifted the necklace around her neck so that she could see the emerald green gem that graced the front of the coppery metal, and smiled as a wave of comfort washed over her at the thought of the horse who had given her this precious piece of jewelry that she now cherished: her boyfriend, Muiris. It was still odd to think that she had a boyfriend. With years of seclusion after being tormented by a dangerous, uncontrollable blessing, she had begun to think that she would never find someone, and she would have never imagined she would find someone as kind, funny, and affectionate as Muiris. Ezmeralda hadn't thought she was the type that could find someone that made her happy or that she could be herself around, but she'd thank Kaia every second of every day for having him in her life. He had changed her life so much since their fateful first meeting, and it had all been for the better.
Of course he wasn't around all the time or even every day at some times. He was a busy Raider that was often on patrol around different parts of Onea, so he didn't get the chance to make it back to her at the end of every day, but it wasn't something that bothered her. If anything, it gave her something to look forward to. She always tried to read more of a book that he had already read to talk about the plot or made some sort of dish for him to enjoy when he got back from a tough day. Ezmeralda was always overjoyed for the time that they did get to spend together and cherished each second even though part of her felt bad that he traveled so far to come back here to her after working all day. Maybe she could surprise him one day and travel to wherever he was! ... though, knowing her luck, they'd miss each other on the path and she'd be at his empty campsite and he'd be at her empty farmhouse. That would certainly be a mess!
With all of her daydreaming, she didn't see Mui come up the long, dirt road to her front door, causing her to jump in surprise at the sound of his hoof knocking on the wooden door. Ezmeralda swept into the living room, double checking that fire was still crackling strongly and that everything was semi-tidy before responding. "Mui, come in. The door is unlocked," she called, standing awkwardly in the middle of the living room before she practically threw herself on a sofa and pretended she had been relaxing all this time.

MUIRIS OF IRON STRIDENever trust a survivor until you find out what he did to stay alive.
His ears pricked at the sound of her muffled voice on the other side of the door, calling him inside. He brushed his messy forelock from his dark amber eyes, mostly out of habit, before pushing open the door. A wave of warmth met his cool coat as he did so, his gaze drifting to the sight of the crackling fire. The sweet scent of lit firewood played in his nostrils, instantly causing him to relax. There was something about a fire that made all his troubles seem obsolete.
His lips cracked in a smile as he turned to find Ezmeralda lounging on the couch as if she had already been there when he arrived. It had been days since they had seen each other last, with Muiris working almost double what he used to due to the latest attack. He was sure she was busy as well, but he hated it. He wished he could have just a day off, instead of needing to drop by after work when he was already tired. It wasnt that he was complaining - he would do it under any circumstance - but a guy could dream.
The stallion shoved those thoughts out of his head. He could deal with those later. He stepped across the room and leaned his head down to nuzzle a kiss on the mare's cheek, his lips pulled in a lopsided grin.
"How was your day?" He asked, honestly curious. He had come with news himself, news that he had been keeping to himself for a while until he knew he was able to talk about it. Fox was the only one who knew the full story, while Mateo and Ezmeralda only knew half. He had wanted to tell Ezmeralda sooner, but the timing.. had just never been right.
Now was the time to do it, but he didnt want to walk in and dump his sob story on her all at once. A little bit of small talk first wouldnt hurt anyone.

Ezmeralda | War-Forged | Herder
Ezmeralda turned to look as the door creaked open to reveal the tall, dark stallion, obviously returning from a long few days of work. His long hair laid in slight disarray from being tied up in the bun that he usually wore when on the job, and despite how many times his warm amber eyes met her gaze, she felt her cheeks grow warm when he found her lounging on the couch waiting for him. Every time she saw Muiris, she couldn't help thinking about how lucky she was to have him. He was willing to travel from wherever his shift ended to spend what time he could with her, and it didn't matter how tired he was. She felt a pang of guilt over him trekking such long distances just to see her especially just after work, but she knew that he wouldn't want it any other way. He was kind and considerate, and Ezmeralda felt tremendous appreciation and love for that fact.
Before she had the chance to get up and hug him, the stallion walked towards her and leaned his head downward. She felt his breath tickle her fur as he placed an affectionate kiss on her cheek. A cheery smile crept onto her face as her previous worried became long forgotten in his presence, and she craned her neck to kiss his muzzle next to the lopsided grin on his face before positioning herself on the couch to leave room for him to sit beside her if he wanted to.
'How was your day?' He asked, and Ezmeralda offered him a small, sheepish smile. "It was good and pretty uneventful. I got some work on the house down after making sure the sheep were fed and okay, so that leak in Roselia's bedroom is no longer a problem." Having to be the adult in her family at such a young age, Ezmeralda had had to learn how to fix a lot of things on her own, including minor construction jobs like patching holes in the roof and making small structures like sheds and lean-tos to offer shelter to her sheep during their stay in the fields. "And speaking of Roselia, she went to Skeldr Town to spend the night with some friends of hers, so it'll just be the two of us tonight." Moments later, Ezmeralda realized that what she had said could be taken as some kind of innuendo to something more suggestive than she had meant, and a hot blush worked its way onto her cheeks (though she had to admit it would be nice to do things without having to worry about her sister even if all they did was talk). "I-I made some stew from vegetables in the garden if you'd like some food, and I tried my hand at making a blackberry cobbler for the first time so hopefully it didn't turn out too badly."
"But enough of me talking, how have you been?" She muttered, her green eyes looking up curiously at Muiris.

MUIRIS OF IRON STRIDENever trust a survivor until you find out what he did to stay alive.
His muzzle scrunched in a giddy grin as she kissed him back before moving over on the couch for him to sit, which he immediately complied. It felt nice to finally get off his hooves, and his muscles surely appreciated it too.
Snuggling up to her side, he listened intently as she told him of her day. He subconsciously took a glance back in the direction of her sister's room when she mentioned fixing the leak. He was glad Ezmeralda was resourceful enough to fix problems like that on her own, even if the reason that was so wasnt ideal. He sighed softly as he turned his attention back to the moment at hand, his ears flicking forwards as she mentioned Roselia being out for the night, giving them the house to themselves.
"Oh, wonderful-" He cut himself off as he noticed the blush creeping its way onto the mare's face. He didnt really understand why until he, too, realized how her words could have been taken the wrong way. He was grateful for his dark coat as he felt his own face grow slightly warm. Luckily, she kept talking, allowing himself to shake off the second hand embarrassment.
He nodded slowly as she started explaining the food she had made, already starting to feel his mouth watering. Stew was one of his favorites, and sure beat the quick meals he had stacked away in his tent. While they were easy, that certainly didnt mean they tasted great. It would be nice to have some real food for once.
"Im sure it tastes amazing." He replied, giving her a small wink. "I would love some, but maybe in a little bit so I can rest just a little longer."
The stallion then shrugged ever so slightly when she returned the question, pushing back a yawn. "It was okay, nothing too exciting." He started, before pausing with a soft hum leaving his lips. "Well, Avon tried to chase a mountain goat kid.. luckily she was quick enough to get out of the way of its mother's hooves." He chuckled. That damn wolf seemed to be more trouble than she was worth at times, but Muiris knew he was stuck with her. She was loyal and an excellent partner; Muiris wouldnt trade her for the world, even if she did have her random moments like that.
"But we both came back in one piece, so I call that a good day." He let out a breath as he spoke, flicking his forelock from his soft amber eyes as it fell in the way again.
He then shifted ever so slightly as his gaze dropped to the floor. "I.. did want to talk to you about something else, though." He started, forcing himself to bring up his gaze to look into into her bright green eyes. The moment he did, he felt himself a little more relaxed, his anxiety slowly fading. "Theres more to how I received my blessing than what I told you. I didnt go to Valore just to visit" He paused, taking a minute to assess her reaction. "I went to see if I could track down my mother."

Ezmeralda | War-Forged | Herder
Ezmeralda breathed a small breath of relief as Muiris sat down beside her, his side resting reassuringly against her own. He always seemed to be warm, even on the coldest of nights, and it seemed that just his touch was enough to wash away any of the worries she had thought of that day like her worries about the Bloody Flanks and the fate of her friend Gosslyn. Now she could only pray that they would stay far away and that Gosslyn was safe wherever she was...
Thankful that her nervous, quick talking had provided the perfect distraction for the embarrassing wording of her statement, she saw his eyes light up slightly at the mention of the stew, and a little grin pulled up the corners of her lips as he gave her a wink that never failed to make her heart flutter, no matter how small it was. "Of course." Ezmeralda muttered quietly, leaning gently against his side on the soft couch. "Get all the rest you can. You deserve it." She said, offering him a smile.
Her ears swiveled toward him, listening intently as her eyes moved to the crackling fire in the fireplace. She chuckled softly at the wolf's antics. Wolves weren't normally a good thing from what she had experienced in her job. They took out the older and small members of your flock, and at first, Muiris's wolf, Avon, had made her quite nervous, but after seeing how faithful and loyal she was to him, she had to admit that she was glad that she stuck around. Plus, the added protection eased her mind whenever Muiris was away. At least knowing that Avon was there with him, she knew someone would have his back if something went awry. "I'm glad that neither of you ended up getting hurt. Those mountain goats can get pretty nasty when they want to."
Her brows stitched together slightly when she noticed his gaze drop to the floor, a look of hesitation and trouble darkening his expression. She found herself holding her breath, feeling her gut twist anxiously. "You can talk to me about anything, Mui." Ezmeralda's tone was reassuring and comforting, and her eyes softened when his eyes lifted to meet her gaze. Whatever it was must be pretty serious if it made him this hesitant to talk about it. He always seemed so sure about things (even though she knew how anxious he could get as well).
As the last of his words left his mouth, Ezmeralda stared, thinking about what he had just said. He hadn't gone to Valore to visit the city; he had gone in search of his mother... and from the slightly saddened look on his face, she could only guess that it hadn't turned out as planned. "D-did you find her while you were there?" She asked anyway. She'd do anything to see her mother one last time, to talk to her or even just to hug her one last time and say goodbye, something she hadn't had the chance to do under the circumstances of her mother's death, and if that was what Muiris had been searching for, some kind of closure or a hint of her existence in Valore, she hoped he had found it.

MUIRIS OF IRON STRIDENever trust a survivor until you find out what he did to stay alive.
The stallion sighed as he leaned against her softly, taking in the warmth from her coat coupled with the crackling fire. He tried to find the words to speak, but found his tongue dry and mind empty. No matter how many times he had run this conversation through his head, it didnt make it any easier.
"I did." He said softly in a breath, his small horns wiggling as he scrunched up his muzzle. "Valore isnt anything like I remember it when I was a kid. Everyone was so inviting and nice. Sure, they were a little flashy for my taste, but I guess I thought it was interesting." He shrugged softly before knitting his brow together, turning to glance out before him.
"Now, all I saw was greed and vanity. It was sickening. Slaves fell in the streets and people just.. stepped over them and continued on." He paused for a moment, biting his lip. It wasnt much different that here, now that he thought about it. Though, here, they just tossed out the weak ones. Shaking that thought out of his head, he took in a breath to continue.
"Anyways, yes, I found her. She was barely alive, a slave owned by some rich cat in the noble district. Obviously not taken care of. I was able to get her back to a friend's house, but she didnt make it long after that. She died in my arms."
"She gave me this, though" He added, holding up his necklace with his telekinetic grasp. The silver dragon claw shone in the light of the fire, the cat eye gem almost glowing in the middle. "She wore this all the time, but I dont know the story behind it.." He trailed off, shifting it ever so slightly in his grasp, making the colors dance before his eyes.
Although he was no longer as emotional about the story, his eyes still stung and his breath shook. His muzzle twitched as he held his breath for a moment, regaining his composure before taking a glance to the painted mare beside him.
"You know when we spent that night in the snow storm?" His lips cracked a glimpse of a smile as memories started to come back. He had been so pathetic, it was embarrassing, but Ezmeralda had understood and let him spill his guts out. "I got angry, and directed it toward Kaia, even though I had convinced myself she didnt exist. Thats when she came to me and blessed me. I dont know why, considering only moments before I was cursing her name, but.." He lifted his gaze, his ears flicking forward.
"I remembered what you said way back when. That the gods arent here to shelter us, but to guide us. I still struggle with it, but I'm starting to understand." Though his eyes were still sad, he allowed a small lopsided grin find his lips.

Ezmeralda | War-Forged | Herder
The unicorn mare waited in silence as Muiris sighed and leaned against her, his eyes focused on the crackling fire in the fireplace. She could only imagine how this story would end from the look of hesitation and hardship on his face. She hated seeing him this way, so torn and sad. It made her wish she could magically take away what was bothering him and place him in some sort of protective bubble. But Ezmeralda knew that she couldn't do that. There was no way to keep hardships and sadness from getting to Muiris, and the only thing she could do was be there for him and help him however she could.
Her ears and eyes were trained on him as he finally spoke, his voice soft and quiet at first but, as he continued, his words seemed to come easier to him. She listened intently, hardly wanting to breath in case she missed some part of his tale. She had known that Valore was bad. Slavery was very common there, and the War-Forged even sent them their weakest members to be slaves to the Aodhians, but she had liked to imagine that they all lived an enlightened lifestyle where they were as fell fed and clothed as their masters. From what Muiris was saying, though, it seemed that all of her imaginations were very, very false.
When he reached the part about finding his mother in a state of neglect and starvation under the roof of some noble who probably could have easily had the wealth to feed her and take care of her properly, Ezmeralda leaned a little closer to him in an attempt to comfort him, her expression filling with a sadness of her own. She knew all too well how it felt to lose ones mother, to have them die within arms-reach of you but you can do nothing to help them. She nested her head on his neck, taking a breath of his familiar scent. "I'm so sorry, Mui. I know how hard and painful that kind of loss can be." Ezmeralda muttered softly, almost too quiet to hear even in the silence of the room. "I wish there was something that I could do to take that pain from you or make it easier for you to bear."
She studied the necklace that hung from his neck and the warm-colored gem that was clutched in the silver dragon's claw. It reminded her of something but she couldn't quite figure it out just yet. Her eyes remained on it a little longer as he held it up with his telekinesis, fiddling with it. It was then that she figured out what the gem reminded her of. The cat's eye stone on the necklace resembled Muiris's eyes almost perfectly. It had the same warm glow to it in the firelight, and it was the same amber color. "It looks a lot like your eyes." She stated, her gaze shifting from the stone up to his face.
A small smile found its way to her lips when Muiris brought up memories of their first time meeting in that fateful snow storm. She had thought she was going to die from the cold, a death she imagined many had suffered in the tough climate of Onea, but she had stumbled upon Muiris's camp, and he had let her stay with him until the following morning. "Sometimes the gods work in mysterious ways... even though we don't understand it at first sometimes. I know I'm quite puzzled by their choices most of the time." Ezmeralda knew all too well about that herself. Being born with a blessing she had no control over had been tough for her, and she still wasn't sure why Kaia would burden a child with such things, but now, Ezmeralda could see how it had shaped her and made her the horse she was today. "Maybe she blessed you then to show you that she's there even when she doesn't always seem to be..." Ezmeralda offered in a soft tone, a ghost of a smile on her face.

MUIRIS OF IRON STRIDENever trust a survivor until you find out what he did to stay alive.
He glanced down at her as she nestled her head into his neck, smiling softly as she spoke quietly. "You've already done more than enough." He assured her. While he couldnt explain it, just being in her presence gave him all the peace he needed. He knew it would still hurt from time to time, the pain was least noticeable when he was with her. He glanced down to the stone in his grasp as they both studied it, their reflections visible in its soft shine. His mother had always taken such good care of it, and it was obvious by the lack of scuffs or chips in its surface. Muiris had always wondered what the story behind it was, as this was the one secret she always kept from him. Now.. he wanted to know more than ever.
He always had his guesses, of course. Perhaps it was given to her by one of her parents; the grandparents Muiris had never had a chance to meet. Or maybe his father had given it to her, not that Muiris expected him to do anything of the sort. Cadfael hadnt been one that that Muiris would think to give presents; but who knew. His mother loved him, but for what, Muiris wasnt sure.
"It looks a lot like your eyes."
He glanced up as Ezmeralda spoke those words, a light smile parting his lips as he chuckled softly. "Thats funny, thats what she always told me too." He replied, dropping the necklace from his grasp and letting it thump against his chest.
He nodded as she spoke about the gods working in strange ways. He sure knew that; his relationship with them - more specifically, Kaia - had been a whirlwind of a ride of the past few years. He was surprised he could keep it all on track, after the many forks in the road of his past. Whatever he was doing, though, he had to be doing something right. He felt more in sync with the goddess since his emotional time in Aodh, and if anything, it made him feel a little more at peace during such a time.
He knew Ezmeralda spoke from experience. He could only imagine how terrifying it had been to be a child with an uncontrollable blessing like the one she had. He was proud of her for getting a better handle on it over the years, and he was sure she was relieved about it too.
"That would make sense." He finally spoke up with a slight nod. "I feel like she's around more than she used to be, anyways." He felt silly saying that; only a year ago, words like that would never leave his lips. He glanced toward Ezmeralda, reaching out to nuzzle the mare's soft cheek. "Besides, if you can keep up your faith after all you've been through, so can I." He only half teased, a goofy grin on his lips in attempt to lighten the mood up a little. He knew he had just laid out some difficult news, but it felt good to get off his chest and he didnt want to dwell on it anymore.

Ezmeralda | War-Forged | Herder
The familiar feeling of his presence quieted the troubling thoughts that had been plaguing her that day. All the worries of the Bloody Flanks and the future were pushed to the back of her mind where she hardly even remembered them as her attention was focused on the stallion beside her. Never in a million years had she thought a shy, insecure mare like herself would be calling someone like Muiris her boyfriend. She hardly felt like she deserved him at times, but she was working on that. Ezmeralda had been trying hard to think better of herself and improve what she believed were her weak points. She didn't want to burden him with her self-doubts. He deserved someone better than that, and she liked to think of them as a team, working together to conquer whatever obstacles were in their way. She wouldn't be a very good teammate if he had to carry her the entire way, so hearing him say that she had already done more than enough brought her a little comfort and to keep doing what she was doing, even though she had to admit that the relationship-type stuff she did was mostly guesswork. The unicorn mare offered him a small smile and kissed his cheek, gently stroking some of his messy forelock out of his eyes with her telekinesis.
She could only guess the emotions that Muiris was going through over the loss of his mother from her own experience after her parents had died in an avalanche when she had been a teenager. It had been like a crushing weight that only seemed to grow heavier each time she remembered something about them. Ezmeralda couldn't imagine if her mother had been taken from her and sold as a slave only to die from neglect. It seemed much better that she had died unexpectedly instead of at the hooves of some entitled, selfish Aodhian. Ezmeralda could think of nothing comforting or reassuring to say to him and wasn't sure if there was anything that she could say to magically make things better, so she sat there in silence and listened to the crackling of the fire in the fireplace while she hugged him.
"That's funny, that's what she always told me too."
Her eyes shifted from him to the necklace that hung from his necklace. The gem held by the talons certainly resembled his warm brown eyes that seemed to almost be red in certain kinds of light. Like now as the fire danced in them, they seemed to almost turn to flames themselves. "I can only guess the story she had about it, but maybe she kept it as a reminder of you, to keep you close at heart even when you were away." Ezmeralda suggested, her eyes flickering to the emerald jewel that hung from her own neck. She knew that's what her necklace reminded her of: Muiris, her closest friend and love, and in times when he wasn't there and she felt uncertain or scared, she often found herself holding the jewel as if she were leaning against him for support. Ezmeralda imagined for a mother, a reminder of her child would be soothing.
The paint mare's ears swiveled forward to listen to Muiris over the firewood popping in the fireplace, and a smile tugged at the corner of her lips. There had been a time that she hadn't truly believed that Kaia existed. She had thought that surely, if there were some otherworldly power out there, they wouldn't let bad things happen to them, but her mother's teachings had won over her doubts. Her mother had seen Kaia and the other gods in everything and spoke to the earth goddess as if she were a lifelong friend, and while Ezmeralda didn't think she had a relationship like that, she felt their presence. Her green eyes softened, and a blush worked its way to her cheeks as Muiris gently nuzzled her. "My mother always said that the road of faithfulness was a tough and narrow one. That there were trials along the way that would test your faith." Ezmeralda started, her gaze drifting to the fire for a moment with a frown. Oh how they had all suffered many faith-shaking trials along the road of life. Her solemness was short-lived, however, and she returned her attention to him with a lopsided grin. "But I think if we stick together, it makes things easier. That's seemed to work so far." She said with a soft chuckle at the thought of all the things the two of them had been through since they had met.

MUIRIS OF IRON STRIDENever trust a survivor until you find out what he did to stay alive.
He grinned softly at her response, dipping his head in a nod. If his mother had kept the necklace to remind her of him, he was doing the same in a way. He didnt need reminding of her presence, she was a mare that was not to be forgotten. However, it was nice to still have a piece of her behind, and to carry around with him. Oh, how he wished she was still around so that she would have been able to meet Ezmeralda. He knew the two would have gotten along, and his mother would have loved her. It was a chance that had been missed due to the evils of Aodh, and he wished with all his heart that he would have been able to change that. His attention shifted back to the painted mare as she spoke up again, talking of the tests of faith. He knew that all too well. He had been tried and tried again, and when he felt like it would never end, Kaia had finally given him relief. All he needed to do was give her his full faith, instead of doubting everything that came his way. He still struggled with it, waiting for every good thing to end with a larger disaster. Muiris's mother had always told him that a friendship wasnt true if it didnt have its ups and downs. He certainly knew that was true. While he enjoyed the ups in their relationship, he felt it was the downs that made them stronger.. made them trust each other more, helped them bond more than ever.
"We make a pretty great team." He agreed as he softly toyed with her hair., letting a comfortable silence fill the room.
