Little Bird | Breim | Outsider
A warm light could be seen even through her closed eyelids in the room that she and her husband shared. She cracked open her brown eyes, peering over to where she knew Diony sat glaring at a scroll as if trying to find the last piece of a puzzle. A crooked smile appeared on her face, and the pegasus mare stretched her russet-colored wings. Oh what she would give up to cherish moments like these just a little longer, to love her family more and dwell in the warm happiness and pride that swelled inside of her at the very thought of them. Hearing the rustle of her feathers, Diony turned to look at her over his eyeglasses, and a smile graced his dark features. “Good morning, my bird~” He muttered quietly, rising from his seat to come over and gently kiss her cheek. “Good morning, Dio.” Little Bird said affectionately, returning her husband’s kiss with one of her own. “I’m going to go make breakfast and then wake up the girls. Is there anything in particular that you want?” With a shrug, he stated that anything that she made would be perfect, and the roan mare rolled out of bed and made her way down the hall to their kitchen.
After lighting the stove and allowing it to heat, she grabbed a pot and the ingredients she needed to make her famous breakfast oatmeal, a favorite of hers as a kid. Her father had cooked it often for her on their travels since it was a relatively easy dish to cook on the go, and since the ingredients were easy to come by in Sirith, Little Bird had taken to making it again.
She had never thought that she would be cooking for a family of four. Part of her had thought it would always be just her and Dio (at least until he got fed up with her disappearances and life-threatening occupation), but the smile on her face as she stirred the pot of food was a clear sign that she loved being a mother and a wife for that matter. As a Vindicator, Little Bird had always thought that was the only life for her. All she wanted was to save lives and fight for the Vindicator’s cause, but as time went on and she grew older and more mature, she hadn’t been able to deny her desire to not leave Diony’s side and to perhaps have a few kids to share their love with and raise. Not for a second would she take back her decision to join Breim and start a family of her own. They were her pride and joy; she loved them to the moon and back a thousand times, and she’d fight tooth and nail against whoever dared endanger them.
The sound of Diony sitting down at the kitchen table ended her train of thought, and she took the oatmeal off the stove and added them to four, separate bamboo bowls, sprinkling crumbled cinnamon on top of each. Little Bird grabbed the bowls and placed them in front of each of the chairs at the table before walking down the hallway to Eos’s and Rosie’s room. She woke them each with a gentle kiss on their foreheads, lighting the lamps that sat besides both of the beds. “Good morning, beautifuls. It’s time to rise and shine~ Breakfast is in the kitchen.” She muttered softly as she brushed back Eos’s wavy hair from her face with a loving smile.

Eos | Breim | Uncut
Eos yawned widely as a pressure against her forehead had her waking up. Sleep tried to pull her back under, but she struggled to wake, eyes opening blearily. She had slept well, deeply. Eyes still half-mast, she looked around the room, smiling as she made out the blurry shape of what only could be her mother. The filly blinked her eyes a few times, trying to get the world around her to clear up. Blurry shapes became more defined and she deemed it safe to climber out of bed, legs still a little unsteady with sleep. She yawned again, hair that Little Bird had brushed from her face falling right back onto it, giving the young foal an overall disheveled if not adorably sleepy look. “Food,” she repeated at her mother’s mention of breakfast and her stomach growled loudly so one could hear it in the quiet room. Eos looked at her sister for only a second before heading towards aforementioned kitchen in order to get the promised food. She felt like she hadn’t eaten in hundreds of years and as far as the child was concerned, it might well have been. She clambered on her stool, stretching her hands out to reach past her steaming bowl and reach for Diony who was sitting on the other side. Little hands couln’t quite reach though so she just flattened them on the table and called to him. She smiled as her papa patted her hand and bid her good morning, pulling back and regarding the bowl in front of her. It smelled well and she wanted to eat, but she waited quietly till her mama would said she could. In the meantime, she imagined what they would be doing today, becoming quickly enraptured by all the ideas that were swimming through her little head. She hummed a bit. Today was a good day. Luckily for Eos, to her, most days in her life were so far.

Little Bird | Breim | Outsider
Little Bird watched her daughter slowly wake from her deep slumber. Normally, she would let them both sleep until they were ready to get up themselves, but today was a very special day, and Little Bird was buzzing with excitement to the point that she hadn't been able to wait any longer for her little ones to be awake. A soft chuckle hummed in her throat at Eos's soft mumbling about food and the quiet sound of the filly's stomach growling hungrily in response. Upon seeing both of them flopping out of their beds, the pegasus mare wandered back into the kitchen where she started tidying the mess she had made. She cleaned a few bowls and put them away in the appropriate drawer where they belonged until her little family was all seated at the kitchen table. A prideful and content smile spread across her face at the sight of all of them there as happy, healthy, and safe as she ever dreamed of. Never in her life would she have imagined herself a mother of two such beautiful and wonderful daughters and be married to the man of her dreams and best friend. She'd been so lucky and didn't regret for a moment hanging up her cape and quitting her life as a Vindicator. Even when she was little, Little Bird had thought she would be nothing other than a Vindicator, a hero to the weary and beaten, but with the growing dangers of the outside world and her growing desire to be more present for Diony, she saw no other way to satisfy her needs than to retire to a life as a mother and wife. It was a job that she took on joyfully and proudly, and she and Diony had adopted their first child before they were even officially married and, not long after, their daughter, Eos, was on the way. Motherhood was incredibly new to her, but the love and admiration she felt for her children would surely outshine any uncertainties she had with her parenting.
Her brown eyes turned toward Eos as she sat down in front of her bowl of food. A smile spread across her face as she spoke, "You can eat, sweetie. It's not too hot." Her ears flicked forward at the sound of the filly's quiet, happy humming. "So, Eos, what are you most looking forward to doing today?" Little Bird asked after swallowing a mouthful of oatmeal.

Eos | Uncut
Eos nodded and gathered a spoonful of oatmeal. Though her mother had just said it was not hot, she still blew some air over it, just to be sure. "Thanks meal," she tried to properly give gratitude for the meal received. The spoon -or rather what was one it- was quickly devoured, Eos letting out a soft "yum" as she made quick way of cleaning out her plate. She ate quietly, trying to make not too much of a mess. Eagerness however soon earned her a smear of oatmeal on her cheek. She didn't notice instead making sure her bowl was well cleaned out. If she didn't know it was improper, she would probably have licked it clean.
She smiled widely at her mother's inquiery, eyes closing. 'xplore. Mama come too, right?" She opened her eyes to stare at Little Bird, hoping her pleading gaze would make her mother think twice about saying no. She could never get enough of walking around town. There was always so much to see and to do. She would imagine herself epic adventures, ones that could only be found in a child's fantasy. To have her mama involved in them would only make them more exciting.
Bowl clean of content, she held it up proudly, letting her appreciation be known with another 'yum'. Then she made her way over to the sink, reaching up to place the bowl were it belonged. Content with her work, she wandered back to the table, inspecting how far the others had progressed in their eating, even going over to inspect if her sister really had eaten every last bit. Then she moved to inspect whatever it was her papa was reading, squinting as if she could actually make out the text on the ages. She made up a story of what it all said until she got bored of it.

Little Bird | Breim | Outsider
Little Bird couldn't help that her gaze lingered on her children as they started to eat. It was even simple things like all of them eating together that made her happy. Oh if the Vindicators could see her now, they would think that she had gone soft. She had been a hardened warrior prepared to fight any enemy no matter how big or small, and now, she was a mother of two little girls and a wife. If only they knew just how hard she would fight to protect all of them, to make sure they were able to live this happy, safe life around the kitchen table doing family activities. Hopefully, though, Little Bird would never have to show them that side of her.
A smile spread across her face as Eos blew gently on her spoonful of oatmeal and thanked her for the food in her awkward, baby talk. "You're welcome, sweetie." She said, listening to her daughter's delighted humming as she ate her food. The roan mare ate her food quickly and rose from the table to clean her dishes as well as Diony's as he finished soon after her before returning to her seat. A chuckle escaped her at the sight of the oatmeal spread across Eos's face despite how hard she tried not to make a mess as she had when she had first started to feed herself.
"'xplore. Mama come too, right?" Eos spoke in an excited tone and looked over at her mother with round, pleading eyes as if she could put her under some sort of spell to ensure Little Bird wouldn't disagree (which Little Bird had to admit that it was pretty hard to say no to that cute, little face). Grabbing a napkin with her red telekinesis, she reached across the table to gently wipe away the food from Eos's face with a grin. "That sounds like an excellent plan, my little sunshine. Maybe we could go to the temple and play with the cats there and then head into town and eat at that little shop you like so much with the muffins and fruit." She offered, knowing how much Eos seemed to love exploring and walking around Nariah. She would probably love to see the world outside of these tunnels... but Little Bird couldn't think like that. The outside was no longer her life. Her life was here, with her family. "How does that sound, Eos?" The pegasus mare asked with a content and affectionate smile.

Eos Breim Uncut
Eos nodded eagerly, quite pleased that she had managed to work her magic. Her nose scrunched up a little as her mama cleaned her up, but she was too excited to complain. Her head tilted to the side as she almost most bounced in place. “Sis’ is coming too?”
She glanced to her sister, not quite sure if she would rather have her along to have fun with or if she’d rather hog her mama all to herself that day. They both sounded like attractive options to the child. She beamed at the mention of cats and muffins. “Cats with two tails too.” She said, remembering the odd creatures that sometimes could be spotted between all the normal cats that were littered amongst the shrines. She had almost managed to touch one once, but it had managed to slip away. She was optimistic though and swore to herself that one day she’d succeed. She wandered around the kitchen without much aim as she babbled about stuff they were going to do that day, while her mama prepared whatever it was that needed preparing. Her story didn’t make much sense other than that it was going to be great. Somewhere halfway through she decided she’d be buying her mama tea and she went over to her papa to ask if she could have money in a whisper that was not really that quiet at all. Post 3 | 234 words

Little Bird | Breim | Outsider
Little Bird smiled down at the young filly and nodded her head. "Of course. Your sister can come if she wants to." The pegasus mare said, turning her head with a curios tilt to Rosie who was still working on her breakfast. The pale filly looked up and nodded her head, unable to speak due to a mouth full of food. Little Bird chuckled and finished her meal. Carefully picking up her dishes, she made her way to the kitchen sink, planting a kiss on each of their heads as she passed them. Turning on the hot water, she cleaned her dishes and placed them on the small drying rack as her ears swiveled back toward Eos at the sound of her voice. Her brown eyes warmed when they turned toward her daughter. "We'll most certainly look for the cats with two tails so that you can say hello. Do you want to bring some treats for them?" She asked, remembering the fish she had bought at the market for the sole purpose of letting her daughters feed the temple cats that Eos adored so much. "Surely some yummy fish will bring all the cats at the temple running to you."
As everyone began finishing their food, Little Bird collected their dishes and washed them before packing the things that they would need for their little adventure: some snacks, money, and, of course, the fish for the temple felines that Little Bird carefully wrapped and placed in a satchel that she swung across her shoulders and tucked underneath her russet-colored wings. As she prepared, she listened to Eos's tale of their day-to-come with a gentle smile, and when she heard the filly not-so-quietly whisper to Dio for some money to buy her tea later, she flashed her husband a smile. How had she, of all horses, managed to have such an amazing family with children that were such blessings to be around and call her own? She had been a Vindicator in love with a freed ex-pit fighter who had been wrongly captured and enslaved by Aodh even after he had pleaded that he was a Breimian, and she had had little hopes of having a true family other than Dionysus. Yet here she was with her husband and their two daughters living in a permanent home in Sirith. It was enough to create a wistful grin on her face as she turned to her children and asked, "Who's ready for an adventure?"
