ANSGAR AND IF I SEEM DANGEROUS, WOULD YOU BE SCARED?
The Abaddon's maiden voyage had been a success.
Since being gifted the magnificent vessel, it was all Ansgar could do to not focus on her beauty, and taking her out to sea for the first time only reinforced the newfound love he harbored for her.
There was a sense of exhilaration and freedom that came with being a captain, and he half wondered if the new plan he had formulated would strip him entirely of his new position, however, he refused to allow it to stop him. He had always been looking for a way out for her -- his beloved sister, Odina. He knew his father had ultimate control over his children's fate, but Ansgar wouldn't forgive himself if he didn't at least try to save her, in anyway he possibly could.
He knew she often spent her time on the shore, watching the waves and occasional vessels as they moved in and out of the port.
He made his presence known early, scuffing up the dirt and brushing his muzzle against her shoulder tenderly.

ODINA
The ocean was particularly quiet today.
Odina had stood on the shore for Kaia knows how long, her ruby gaze settled on the far horizon. What wonders lay beyond those distant waves? Her brother was going to be able to see them without her.
The thought shot a bitter arrow to her chest, and by the gods did it sting.
She knew that one of her siblings or her mother would soon seek her out and bring her back to her duties. Being a weather witch had its perks though; she could lie about watching the waves for incoming weather patterns or whatever Cascade wanted to tell her.
Some days it seemed like the goddess of the sea was laughing at her. She was so close to freedom, but ultimately was always brought back into the tight hold of the leash her father had on every one of his children. She loved him, as much as a daughter could love an overbearing father, but she was tired. She already knew that her younger sister, Astrid, was always pulling at her own leash just to watch the sea as well.
Being the younger sister of the Prodigal Son made Odina almost pity the girl. With all of Gidal's attention on his younger children, it only made it easier for Odina to slip away.
The sound of scuffled dirt startled her out of her thoughts, her body reacting stiffly as she was afraid one of her siblings had come to escort her home. The gentle touch of a muzzle against her shoulder and a familiar voice quickly calmed her nerves, and she glanced back into the matching red eyes of her brother.
She was more than relieved to see him, but the thought of him leaving on a ship without her pierced the bitterness in her chest again. Nonetheless, the mare mustered a smile for her beloved sibling, her eyes shining.
"Congratulations brother, you must be proud," her voice was soft, almost lost to the sound of the waves. The brindle mare turned her gaze back to the sea, her smile faltering for a brief moment. "I wish you Cascade's good fortune the next time you depart."
