Hello Starborn, and welcome to Plot 302: Potential Allies - Eithne!
Please keep the following in mind!- Posts must be a minimum of 175 words. There is no maximum!- No strict order is enforced, but there must be at least two posts between your own character's.- No god-moding or reading characters' minds (unless your pony is a literal telepath, anyway) - Always get consent before harming another character!- Your team is precious. Try to interact with everyone. <3- Have fun! Even if your pony isn't. 8'D - Keep an open mind about your character joining the Vindicators. It would be a temporary alliance and would require no change to their reference image. It is not required, however.Prompt: The past months have not been kind to the Vindicators. Desperation has struck hard and fast, and they need numbers now more than ever. Two teams were formed under Dinah’s orders. You will go to Eithne, where a hedgewitch hides in the Drakefire Wood. Her skills could make her a useful ally, and a few coins have bought Jinxx's help in searching- and time to try and convince her to aid you in full. Time of Day: Early Morning.

Your duty is not an easy one. Nor is the decision to come for those you meet.
But these are not easy times.
The Vindicators have taken heavy losses. Facing off against the might of Aodh, then thrown into the jaws of the Cult, there has been precious little time to think. Dinah has elected to take the time to rebuild. She remains in the Vindicator's secret camp, tending to the wounded, planning the next move.
Your mission is clear. Find the hedgewitch in the Drakefire Woods that Aodh so desperately tried to eliminate. Surely if they were so eager to destroy her, she would be a useful ally. You have found Jinxx along the way, and have spent enough coin to get her to join you in the search, but you must still convince her to join you in full, for your coin cannot last forever.
The factionless will be hard to convince. You call them to a losing side, a fight they have no dog in. Do all that you can.

VigilI take no joy in mead nor meat and song and laughter have become suspicious strangers to me
Frustrating was eating against his mind, like the flies to a fresh carcass. Vigil was not pleased to learn he would be traveling near Aodh in search of some elusive hedge witch that somehow escaped the fires. Aodh and their damn fires, so proud. Vigil had hoped they would all choke on their own fumes, But not only was this mission a complete frustration, their numbers have dwindled so much that they had to see this hedge witch out. At least he had some company, Khazada, he had trained her up within the mountains and now she was sent on a task with him. At least he trusted her and that was enough for him. Though as the two sent out on the trip to Aodh it felt more and more like this was going to be a worthless, they needed more help, they needed an extra set of eyes, more protection. Luckily for the two, they had stumbled upon Jinxx, paying her for her service to help aid them Vigil was beginning to wonder what in the world would they do if this hedge witch denied them?
As he stood there with the other two, he did his best to fill in Jinxx. "Thank you for your service." he remarked to her. His golden mask hiding his eyes from her, though he saw her clearly though the vast gaps within it. "We seek to find a witch not even Aodh had snuffed out. Rumor is the hedge witch dwells within the Drakefire Wood. It's been a while since I have been to Aodh." he almost spat with disgust, Many knew he hated the herd and their ways, but many have been quite unsure on what had affected him so much to act out as such. "I know the way a bit, but surely the hedge witch knows it better. If the witch has been able to out maneuver them, surely it would be not trick to do it to us." he remarked making it clear once they drew closer to the burnt forest that had to be on their toes. Vigil didnt trust many well and to welcome an outside so easily, well it disgusted him. But as Dinah had stated their numbers grow thin and it would be dangerous to travel to Aodh especially with the Vagabond law. Nostrils flared as his ears bent back. "Let's go, we can talk as we move." he commanded them and soon he was moving the group forwards. They needed to move quickly and Vigil refused to spend their time in the woods until dark.
WC|| 434 Notes || Just getting us started to move out into Aodh to seek out the Hedgewitch ;D <3 Im so excited guys

With the evening quickly approaching, the sun had started to sink. Cool air drifted across the swamp, playing between the old trees and rustling the surface of stagnant water. Bugs buzzed across the tops of water and plants, fish sloshed through the muck. The swamp was a peaceful place, filled only with the sound of nature around it.
But then they had ruined it. The Chevaliers, out for the blood of a vagabond. They rampaged through the swamp, disrupting the earth with the blessing of one of their members. Scared the blue wisps away..
In a tree house, build high in the bog of the swamp, the dunskin mare laid on her floor, stretched out on a dirty bearskin rug. The sounds of her collection of various unicorn horns hanging from the solemn tree rustled and clinked in the soft breeze. The scent of putrid water and decay floated across the young mare's nostrils, but she didnt mind. She had long since gotten used to the stench of her home.
As she laid on the floor, she was joined by her familiar, an old snake by the name of Chonsie. The old girl shuffled across the floor, her blind eyes glazed over as she sought out her young companion. The witch felt a bump on her shoulder as her snake crashed into her, picking up her head and glancing down toward the reptile.
"Chonsie, you silly old girl." She hummed, reaching out her muzzle and nuzzling the scaly beast. The snake hissed, revealing broken fangs, but Sa'ida knew she was full of shit; she liked affection, she just didnt want to admit it.
Her playful grin fell from her features as the mare pushed herself to cracked hooves. She slowly turned her head, the large deer antlers atop her crown casting a long shadow across her floor. The witch wandered to her window, duel colored eyes gazing across the swampy land. Her attention turned downward, focusing on a small blue glow that bounced right at the end of her step.
The last wisp. Or, the last wisp she knew of.
After those terrible Chevaliers had scared off all the wisps, Sa'ida had gone looking for them. She had not been able to find many, and most of them disappeared after moments of her laying her eyes upon them. Why were they so scared? Sa'ida had always protected them and told them she was their friend... Why were they suddenly leaving her? Biting her tongue, she turned away from the window, watching as her snake made a bed out of the bear skin.
At least she still had one friend left.

Jinxx | Mercenary "It seems that we are both in need of help." (header by Jodifarrow22)
After her last job, Jinxx had decided to take a break from work for awhile. Those dumb mares had led her straight into the bears mouth, literally. Jinxx promised herself that she wouldn't work for any idiots like that again, ever. With all of her new scars, it had taken some months before she felt like her old self again and she was not going back to that pitiful bed ridden state again. Still, her faithful Hyena had stayed at her bedside and had learned how to sniff out wild vegetables for her owner and a bird or two for herself.
Once Jinxx had healed enough and the stitches had fallen out, she decided it was time to leave the stuffy little cabin they called home. Craving warmer weather despite her admiration for the beautiful crystal like snow of Onea, she crossed over the Eithne; She knew the danger the area had for vagabonds but after surviving a pack of bears that would have loved to gnaw on her bones, she trusted she could defend herself well enough until she could make it to Sirith.
Intending to travel to the Briem herds land, she had run into a small group of individuals who had clearly seen better days. Seeing as she had taken plenty of time off she accepted their coins and chastised herself for being so materialistic. Now she stood with the strangers, quietly allowing them to fill her in on why they needed her and what business they had had in Aodh.
"Hedgewitch." She mumbled quietly, processing the word. "I used to go to old valore with my father and entered those woods a few time. I am sure i would remember my way." She said, nodding with a strong confidence. Mathia stood close to Jinxx, eyeing their new companions. Jinxx had tried to not stare at the one who had spoken the most to her and admired his gleaming mask and decided she might ask him where he got it at some point during their travels. Examining the others, she looked up at the enormous draft mare close by, but was not intimidated by their height difference.

Khazada- Vindicator Was it so hard nowadays to find others to join their ranks? Upon making her own decision to leave the warm sands of Sedo for the life of a vindicator, Khazads was almost certain there were plenty of others that would do such a thing. But gold, coins glittered and tempted more horses then the honor and pride in doing what was right. A fact Khazada still found her mind trying to piece together. Were they such underdogs to the point that no one would give such a task a fighting chance? Did she truly make the right choice? Though as doubt seemed to eat at her since accepting this mission with Vigil, Khazada felt some sort of comfort in having the more experienced Vindiator with her as he had proven on that mountain he was worth following and listening to. Granted Khazada was knew, knew to the life of a Vagabond by the way her eyes would dart off their choosen path at any unfamiliar sound. Constantly she would give a small snort, trying to act natural as if she was just admiring the scenery then actually worried about cultist or wild animals jumping out at them. Though it was the idea of searching for a Hedgewitch that really seemed to put the draft built mare on alert. Back home in Sedo, Khazada never heard of search a thing though the name sounded...like the sort of thing to avoid. But here Dinah had assigned them to such a task. With Cascades's luck, Khazada's years of training as a fleet foot would come in handy here as it did back on those snowy hills during her training. Khazada's ear curved forward as she listened to Jinxx's words before she felt her gaze linger on the mercenary for a moment before traveling back ahead to Vigil. Word Count: 306 Post #1

The young mare studied the snake before her as she settled into the rug, closing her eyes and heaving a large sigh. A smile quirked at the edge of the mare's lips, her brow furrowing slightly. Even with her Familiar Whisperer talent, she never knew what her companion was thinking. Why?
"I really wish you'd talk to me sometime." She whispered, not wanting to disturb the old girl in her sleep. The sound of knocking on her window pulled away her attention, her ears flicking forward and head whipping in the direction of the sound. Hovering outside her window was another snake, hanging from the branches of her treehouse. Sa'ida shuffled to the window, pushing it open.
"There's equine coming this way." The snake spoke, its tongue flickering as it slithered through the window and crawled down to the floor. Sa'ida took a step back as it did so, watching as it snooped across her floor. The young mare had bribed the snakes of the area to keep her informed of the happenings around the swamp. They gave her information, and in return, she gave them her kills and protection.
The hedgewitch's lips pressed together, her ears flicking back. "Chevaliers?" She asked with a sour tone.
"I dont know, but there arent many of them." Came her reply.
Sa'ida gave a short nod as she turned and adjusted the deer skull adorned upon her head, making sure the antlers were straight. "Well, I guess I should go meet our new guests." She hissed, licking her lips and flicking her long tail. "Any unicorns?" Her gaze shifted to the many unicorn horns that hung from the branches of the tree, shifting softly in the wind, some clinking together every now and then. Her collection was not very large yet, but she was working on it. Soon, he whole tree would be covered in them, and maybe, just maybe, then she wouldnt feel lost without her own.
"Yessss." The snake hissed, its tongue flickering as its eyes lit up. He knew what that meant. Sa'ida would kill the unicorn. She would take its horns. He would take its body.
A cruel smirk played across the young mare's lips, determination forming in her gaze. "Excellent." She replied before pulling open her door and slipping down the rounded steps. Her hooves splashed in the murky swamp water as she lept to the ground, taking off in a nimble run the moment she found the ground. She kept her head high and ears alert, scanning the area for any potential threats. It didnt take her long to find the edge of the swamp, entering into the forest. She shook mud from her tail with a flick, but grime stayed caked on her legs and underbelly from her trek. Duel colored eyes narrowed as she slowly stalked through the trees, searching for this group of could-be-Chevaliers.
She wasnt going to let them get away this time.

Vigil The Vindicator
Long ears twitched as Jinxx responded to him. "Good" he remarked calmly to her. He wasn't really a stallion of many words, yet this was going to be a terribly long travel if they all remained as quiet as church mice. "So Jinnx." he paused for a moment. "Would you ever consider an off of a mutual alliance of the sort?" he asked her as he eyed Khazada. Khazada was new, but could offer some insight. "The Vindicators are looking for more, we are not asking you to join us forever, yet... With Aodh stealing any lone horse, perhaps we can join over a mutual enemy?" he remarked hoping that would perk her interest. They didnt have much to offer, but it can be so uncanny how a common enemy can bring horses together.
Head turned to Khazada, "Keep your senses open Khazada." he mummer to her gently. He still looked over her regardless there was still so much he wanted to teach her, but there came a time like now, they had to move and learn all why having to be a fully trained Vindicator. "I've heard a bit of this hedgewitch." he remarked. "Heard she was able to survive an attack from Aodh. Heard she is as nimble as the gods, but then again these all could be rumors. But one thing for certain. Keep your eyes open." he snorted out. Vigil didnt trust to easily and hearing all these rumors of this Hedgewitch made his skin crawl. Oh if only he knew of it all perhaps he'd never come at all.

Jinxx | Mercenary "It seems that we are both in need of help." (header by Jodifarrow22)
Jinxx tried not to roll her eyes at his request, walking forward without looking at him. "Join you guys?" She said in a contemplative tone. "Well, i usually like to keep to myself." She informed him, blowing her forelock out of her eyes. "Though i beleive the vindicators follow a noble cause, i have responsibilities elsewhere to do something without a gain as shallow as that may be." Jinxx tried to keep her tone even and not seem rude. Usually she would have refused without fear of offending the other, but she didnt want this trip to be too insufferable.
"So this hedgewitch," She began. "What makes her so special?" Jinxx asked. If she were going to risk her life for these folks she decided that they might aswell inform her of the being they were going through the trouble of trying to retrieve. "I have heard she is comparable to Argus himself. Is it true that she holds great power?"
