There had been so much confusion. Flashing images in her mind, the calls from the void that she could never quite be certain meant anything. It was not how things normally came to her. In her advanced age, Nephilim was not fond of this uncertainty. Frankly, it was pissing her off.
While she normally kept her unclear visions from her Ascendant, she felt a strong pull to resolve things. Like... she was supposed to figure this one out. A mystery given by Digend. A sacred duty.
And the god was kind to his faithful, for he at least revealed the method to do so.
"Mistress," Nephilim greeted, going to Genesis' side, her head bowed in reverence. "I have felt Digend's call once more."
She did not ask for a private audience. The Cult was a family, and she felt no need to hide her request from their ears.
"But it is... unclear. I know of a rite that may aid this. We will need two lives, however, fuel for the fire of clarity."
Normally a simple request, but here they were far from any town. In the heart of familiar territory, the dark forests the Cult called home.
"I leave it in your hooves."

Voidra Voidra had been so involved into her work, that it was hard to pull her away from it. Voidra did not want to be stopped, she had to continue it, she through of course complied and followed along with Thana. Yet Voidra remained with a far off look in her eyes, a clear sign she had not truly left her work. Mind twisting and turning and Voidra cursed that she had not dragged paper and ink with her, what if she lost this thought? What if she..... Voidra blinked once and then twice, her consciousness returning to her as she spotted Neph approaching Genesis. Pupils widen with anticipation, as the older mare could hear the mere words from Digend, and while jealously rang deep within her veins, but it was the mere fuel that kept her going.
Then Neph spoke and Voidra could feel herself almost pur with delight. Neph had felt Digend's call, he was calling to them, they have done such a good job have they not? Perhaps he wishes to reward them once more? Oh Voidra had hoped that would be truem would they finally finish of the Vindicators? Would they slit Dinah's throat and allow the blood to be painted on their bodys in the name of Digend? Voidra shook her head, she was getting ahead of herself, her mind acting far to quickly sometimes. But the next words she spoke made Voidra take a small step towards them. It was unclear what he wanted to say, but they needed a rite, they needed two lives... Lives, what could Voidra offer? What could she say to help aid them all so they could let Digend speak to them so clearly. Voidra's mind raced and raced, she had killed so many and Aodh was taking so many Vagabonds, so much so she had released a few of her own monsters to try and persuade them to stop taking them. And then it hit her. Perfect, Perfect PERFECT!
Voidra would kiss herself if she could, what a sly vixen she was, surely she was given they idea by Digend himself. "I have an offer." she remarked with a devilish grin. "Perhaps one of my own monsters could do the trick? Why not a gift made from one of us?" she persuaded them, eyeing Thana in hopes her apprentice would agree. Voidra had hoped this would do the trick, maybe be considered at least? Her work was valuable to her, she was creating things like no other and as of late, they had been living, breathing and fighting. What better gift then a gift from herself, with the help of Thana of course? Oh she could only imagine, a personal gift to her sweet love Digend. Oh for everything she did, she did in his name and his name alone. She never allowed another god nor equine to touch her or her soul. So surely.... Surely this would do?

Thana | Vagabond | Cultist
Thana had had to practically drag Voidra out by the hair of her tail in order to get the mare away from her work. She had been so diligently working for so long that it seemed impossible to Thana that she was even still able to focus. That was the reason why Thana had asked her to accompany her to get some supplies such as gauze, herbs, and of course food for themselves. She would hate to see her mentor burnt out and unable to perform her important work, and Thana would hate it even more if she were unable to teach her.
The hippocampus mare's fiery eyes slide over the Cultist camp, studying the horses around them carefully as if she could see the muscles of their bodies contract with each little movement. Thana couldn't help but go over everything that Voidra had shown her during their time away from work, refreshing old facts and revisiting ideas of her own. Too bad she hadn't had time to work on a masterpiece of her own quite yet, but Thana was perfectly content helping miss Voidra with her own creations. It thrilled her to pieces every time one of them awoke from all the hard work they had done to create them, and the thought of each of them still awed her.
All of her thoughts almost made her miss Nephilim approach Genesis with a solemn expression. Her ears flicked forward, twitched at the words that poured from the mare's mouth. Digend had come to her with more words of what he wished for them to do, and while it drove a jealous jolt to Thana's heart to think of someone held so highly by Digend that he spoke directly to them, she didn't want to miss the opportunity to prove to him what she could do.
'I have an offer.'
Thana turned her head to look at the mare beside her with a look of curiosity, waiting to hear what brilliance the older mare had thought up. Voidra's idea didn't disappoint at all either. She wished to offer up one of her own creations! While they spent countless hours and hard work on each and every one of them, and it would break her heart to see one of them gone, Thana's lips curled into an elated smirk. If one of Voidra's creations was going to be killed, she loved the idea of offering it to Digend himself. Oh how pleased he would be to receive such a thoughtful gift that had so much hard work poured into it! "That is an excellent idea, Miss Voidra! What a thoughtful offering~" Thana purred, her short tail flicking excitedly.

It was good to be with his fanatic family once more. As much as Fletcher loved roaming the world on his own, contribution to Digend's plan any way he could, there came a certain sense of well-being and relaxation when he rejoined the Cultists. It was odd to think that anyone could relax among the mottled crew of bloodthirsty equines, but Fletcher found calm in knowing that they were all as brutal as himself.
He kept a casual eye on Nephilim as he spotted her wandering by, always curious about the mare Digend bestowed so many visions upon. His curiosity was further peaked when he saw her head for Genesis, making his hide prickle with mild excitement. He couldn't quite make out the words, and would have been content to stay where he was, if not for Voidra and her apprentice Thana joining in.
Fletcher rose to his hooves slowly, stretching out legs and muscles that would have preferred to stay down. It was a lazy night, he was lazy and it showed in the way he slipped over to the gathering, catching the last of Thana's words.
"Offering? " he mumbled in that deep voice of his, ears perking up.

Genesis [ The Ascendant ]
"Mistress, I have felt Digend's call once more. . . We will need two lives, however, fuel for the fire of clarity."
The Ascendant stood among her people, her rightful place as the one who had been chosen to lead them. Genesis wasted little of the time she had with them when they were gathered, for if they were together, then Digend certainly had greatness in store for them. Previous meetings had proven this, not to say that they could cause havoc individually. A chilling smile crept across her lips as she surveyed them, each one eager to see where Digend would lead.
And certainly, she was among them now as Nephilim spoke. Ears turned next in the direction of Voidra and her apprentice Thana, the prior offering a delectable option to serve to their Lord and Master. Oh, yes, she certainly liked the idea. It was far too perfect, an offering of his servant's own hooves. Fletcher sidled up towards the end of their speech, and Genesis turned to address him alongside each other cultist present.
"If it is an offering Digend wants, then an offering he shall receive. Voidra, your offering should certainly be more than pleasing to sate the lust of our Lord. Pray tell, where might we find one of these. . . experiments? We mustn't be idle for long, save we risk angering Digend."

They would do. Perhaps better than abducting random strangers. Voidra's monsters had foul magic in their blood, dark and beautiful. Nephilim was certain the offering would be pleasing- and the size of the beasts more than enough to serve as fuel.
"They will do well. I leave the hunt to you, mistress. I shall stay, and prepare the rite for your return."
If this old magic would not do to clarify her thoughts, at least the family will have had some fun. A good hunt kept the heart racing, the mind pure in thoughts of chaos. She almost regretted she could not partake. Her bones were old, but she still felt the same familiar excitement when death was on the horizon.
"Hunt well, my brothers and sisters."And with that, Nephilim retreated to her corner of the camp. There were herbs to be found, signs to carve into the ground, words to recite. Much work to be done before the blood was spilled. She knew she had to have it complete when arrived- the cult was not known for its patience. Nor was she. The desire to understand her god burned strong in her.

Voidra
Oh how smitten she was with Genesis agreeing that her experiment would do wonders for the group. That her own creation could allow Digend to speak to them more clearly. Eyes turned to Fletcher, a smile lifting to look more like a fox ready to pounce, eager to work with him once more. Though as Genesis asked her questions, Voidra could feel her heart pounding rapidly against her chest, feeling that rare moment of butterflies in her stomach. "My beast, well he lingers in the woods not far from here. He was made to be a gift to Aodh for their deal." her smile turning sour with disgust at the Aodhians. Such disgust for cowards behind their great walls. "But a gift to Digend is far better. He won't be so easy to take down. Built like a tank, a monster of course with my own additions. He lacks all knowledge besides fight... But oh my kin... the hunt will be so good." she purred out to them.
Voidra looked to Thana smiling bright hoping this would aspire her young apprentice, that she too could create things that would help aid them with Digend as well as be an offering. A clear sign that their hard work was paying off. Ears twirled as she looked to Nephilim, dipping her head respectfully. A giddy grin was on her face as she looked forward to seeing what her offering could do to serve Digend. As Nephilim bid them to do the lord work, she sighed with delight. "Surely Digend has something planned wonderfully for us." she purred out her voice soft like velvet as it was no shock to all her uncontrollable love for their god, that went past endearing and straight into obsession. Eyes turned to Genesis eager for her to rally the Cultist, for a hunt that would be so divine. "Best be all on your guard with this monster... He was created by me of course." she laughed as it was indeed thrilling to hunt down her own creations, and this one... Oh yes this one would be a pure delight and perhaps allow all the Cultist see what exactly she was up too.

Mother knows best was the motto that Lucrezia liked to live by. And most of the time, that was true. Lucrezia always looked forward to hearing of the visions that Digend shared with her mother. She had hopes that one day - if Digend saw her as worthy enough - she would receive such visions.
Though late to the gathering, Lucrezia had listened eagerly to what her mother said to the almighty Ascendant. She watched the two, her excitement bubbling at the words that her mother spoke. An offering? Oh, how fun! She looked among her fellow cultists to gauge their reactions and was even more excited when Voidra suggested on of her monsters. Lucrezia had long since been a fan of Voidras work. She would lurk in the shadows and watch the mare at work, fascinated by the strange concoctions Voidra made.
A grin spread across her face. “We will make Digend proud today!” She cheered. Her gaze met that of her mother’s for a brief moment. And in that moment she thought to herself, I’ll make you proud too, momma.

The greying stallion listened curiously to all that was being shared, slowly exhaling small puffs of smoke from his pipe. Genesis accepted Voidra's offer, Nephilim confirmed that the creature would do, and Lucrezia joined the gathering as well. He couldn't help but let his eyes slide across her slowly, smirking at whatever dark thoughts crept through his mind.
He finished his pipe and knocked out the spent tobacco, wrapped the carved wood in a piece of cloth, and returned it to his saddlebags resting against a tree. He took a moment to pull out a recently acquired steel dagger, admiring it a moment before strapping the leather sheath to his left upper front leg. A piece of string was use to tie back his long mane, and then he rejoined the group.
"We're bringing them back alive? " he asked just to confirm orders, setting eyes on Genesis. He was fairly sure that was the point, but it was better to ask than make a terrible mistake. Not every rite needed a living sacrifice after all, some had simply required blood and much of it.

Thana | Vagabond | Cultist
Thana's heart thumped excitedly in her chest, and if it weren't for the fact that she was surrounded by her fellow Cultists, she probably would have been giddy enough to prance around like a little filly who had just been given too much candy. They were going on a hunt, and the hunt was for Voidra's creations which Thana herself had helped create. Even though much of her job with Voidra's creations were simply observation, she couldn't help but feel proud that they were going to be using something that she had been apart of to please Digend himself. It was absolutely wonderful and exciting beyond belief, and when Thana looked up to see her mentor's bright, cheery smile, she couldn't help but return it with one of her own.
Her attention was grabbed to another equine that had been attracted by their gathering, and a smirk painted itself across the hippocampus mare's face as she recognized the voice: Lucrezia. Thana offered the mare a nod of agreement to her words as a proud grin pulled up the corners of her lips. "Yes, we shall~" Thana spoke, eagerness lacing her tone.
"We're bringing them back alive?" Thana turned at the sound of another, deeper voice, and her fiery eyes landed on a grey stallion that had approached the group and now looked to Genesis for further instruction.

Voidra
She was to eager to wait around for mere commands to wait and find out if they needed her experiments alive of not."Lets talk as we move shall we?" she glanced at to her brothers and sisters. Digend was not the kind of god to be kept waiting. "Its a bit from here, and we can figure out what to do as we get closer." she almost sneered a bit. She knew all was excited, but she was far to ready. The desire and need to give her own offering to her god, made her loins ache with need.
Digend was waiting for them all to act and move, and time was not moving any slower with any of them. Voidra eyed them all, knowing it was Gensis that would give the command, but still, she could not wait. "Let's go." she remarked looking to Thana, and allowing the others to follow suit if they desired. "You know the experiment we are looking for Thana?" she asked, but a smile growing on her face. "The one we made both hippocampus and unicorn." she chuckled a bit. The stallion was thick, and large and was a monster to catch. She had experimented on him several times, from replacing his eyes, to adding horns from failed experiments on his body, mixing it with tissue and helping it grow into bone. Oh yes he was quite a beast, but still she could not taint his noble heart, his need to protect and defend, and that was why she created a weak link for him. A simple failed experiment mare, she was frail, with wings dissected and sowed back together. She was something else, a mute and now blind. The two should be close together. "You remember him?" she asked grinning all the more. " Hoping Thana would recall and remember the info needed to either bring back the host alive, or dead. Voidra moved on wardshoping the others would come along, otherwise she had no shame in it being just Thana and herself doing the dirty work. Let Digend bless them.

Fletcher had heard stories of Voidra and Thana's creations, but had never actually witnessed any of the beasts. Some had described them as lost souls flickering about in the wilderness, scarred beyond recognition. Changed or somehow morphed, they were said to be quite horrible to look upon and Fletcher was eager to finally glimpse one of the illusive experiments.
He fell in behind Voidra, listening to her words and scoffing mildly. Hippocampus and unicorn? Surely she was jesting! Unless she'd sown fins onto a unicorn or something along those lines. He'd understand Voidra and her apprentice Thana better once he'd seen what it was they tinkered with, but even if he didn't quite believe Voidra's words to be true, he was still curious and excited, though mostly for the hunt.
It had been too long since the Cultists had hunted together, or maybe he was simply getting so used to the activity that any amount of time spent without, felt like an eternity. At any rate, simply setting out with the small group had his heart pumping faster and he couldn't help but bump his shoulder against Lucrezia and give her a dazzling grin. A wink of an eye was a clear invitation to seek him our after the rite, if she needed to let out some more steam.

Thana | Vagabond | Cultist
The young hippocampus mare couldn't hide the eager expression that crept across her face as Voidra began to move the group in the direction of the likely whereabouts of their prey. She'd gone on hunts before (even a few little tasks by herself), but never before had she gone after one of their experiments. Some of them were so strong and powerful that it would take more than her dainty form to subdue them, and while that would worry some, it only excited Thana even more. She loved the thrill of the hunt and the danger that came with it.
Her ears swiveled toward her mentor as she spoke: "You know the experiment we are looking for Thana?" From the knowing smile on the older mare's face, Thana could guess which ones would bring such delight to her. "The one we made both hippocampus and unicorn." Thana giggled enthusiastically. "Oh yes, miss Voidra. How could I forget such a beautiful specimen~ I remember the little friend that we gave him to take care of as well~" The young Cultist purred, her voice as thick and sweet as honey. The hippocampus/unicorn hybrid was strong and could easily kill or injure them if provoked. That had been Voidra's idea when she had made him a smaller, weaker mare to take care of and protect. They learned quite quickly that he would do anything to protect her... even if it meant sacrificing himself. "Oh so chivalrous that one. He'll be a lot of fun." Thana said, turning to look at the horses that walked behind them and listened to their chat with a smirk.
