Haruka | Priest (Argus' Temple)
His expression changed as the sound of a familiar young voice reached his ears. Haruka raised his head and turned, gray-blue eyes widening at the sight of his younger cousin. "Cece..?" His voice was soft at the nickname before he reached his neck forward to touch his nose to her cheek before he took a few steps closer towards her. "Argus has told me nothing of these events, but we are here to seek those answers." With his neck Haruka tugged her gently towards his chest in a hug, hoping to comfort the filly. "I don't believe they're angry with us, and most certainly not with you little flower, never with you." Of course he couldn't know that they weren't angry for sure but he truly believed in his heart that they weren't. The gods couldn't possibly be angry with them. These changes, these events only needed to be interpreted. But the priest wished there was a way he could reassure his younger cousin - anything to drive away her fear and worry. Children like her were the future of their herd and Haruka would do all in his power to protect such innocent souls.
Although Haruka couldn't see her tears he could tell by the wavering sound of her voice and her breathing. It pained him to see her so frightened and confused but his presence was the only comfort he could provide, at least for the meantime. "Stay by my side," he murmured, nuzzling her cheek gently in order to rid her eyes of tears. "We're all here to understand what the gods have planned for us. But nothing will happen to you, not as long as I'm here."

Zahara | Servant(maid)
Her graze followed Judith's movements as she opened the door hearing the sounds of the outside world more clearly now. Concern and fear slide over her body prickling her coat as stared out at the city. The silence that filled the room as she watched the dove flow away with urgency. It would be long before she heard the sounds of new hooves making their approach. Her eyes fell to the familiar and unfamiliar faces of the horses who had arrived. Bowing her head softly in greeting and giving a deeper bow to Cecillia since she worked for the Royal family and wished to always show them the highest respect. So many questions filed through the air with the new arrivals and so far no answers were given. More so the upset of the filly caused her body to tense. Moving herself away from all the bodies in the room her eyes soon traveled to doorway in which the Kirin filly had escaped down. She wished to know the child was alright but the breaking of the silence held her still in this room.

Judith | Priestess
A long silence engulfed the room as Judith made her way back into the space. There were questions, the pony could feel them pressing on her very existence as eye's watched her every move. And more were to come yet, as the pending arrival of Yuki loomed in the near future. It all was so overwhelming now. Judith could not remember a time when she had let such things get to her. Even as a child she had been confident and sure of herself in every way. Tho... that was not entirely true either. When Kaia entered her life the future had been uncertain than as well. All changed seemed to bring such a feeling of uncertainty so was it really all bad?
Blue eyes found a way to wander back into the darkness of the hall where Bea and Donagi were to be. A longing pulled the mare toward them, toward her child and her fears. What she would not have given to have things back to the quiet nights along next to the sparkling foal, humming a small tune into her ear as dreams lifted them both away. The calmness and contentment that existed and the world around them disappeared. But it was not to be and by Kaia's grace that was how things should be. It was no life to be holed up away from the world missing the beauty and mystery of what it beheld.
As Judith took a step toward the back room, the sudden commotion of the outside sauntered in. Yuki and her sibling, Hikaru, were the first to enter, their tall figure sliding through the paper door followed closely by a colt hiding delicately between their legs. Moments later, the rest appeared with equally confused and concerned looks on their faces. Judith could only assume they were the Breimians the Priestess had been guiding as the Holiday unfolded. "Yuki," a quick dip of the head signed respect, one which was quiet returned by the small colt. His actions made the pony mare grin and hope that one day, Bea would be as curious as he.
Once again, Judith felt eye's turn to her in question; the initial greeting and commotion settling back into quiet murmurs. "Priestess Yuki, I asked you here for a few reasons just as I am sure you have questions of your own. But first we would like to know what has happened within the city? The silence of the holiday has been broken but I have a feeling there is more to it than that. What have you and you followers seen?"

Dodger
"Don't be scared to walk alone. Don't be scared to like it."
--
Dodger didn't say much during the trek to Kaia's temple, following next to Nefertiti and the only sound made was his hoofbeats and his breathing. He was still on high alert, unsure of what had happened exactly and fixed in his pondering about what had happened to the distressed equine. The guard gave the essence of being solemn and stern, but in all reality he was confused and concerned and all he could do was just follow to the shrine of the unicorn goddess who controlled the earth.
Upon reaching the temple, he took in its form, having never visited this shrine to the earth goddess. He followed suit in murmuring a soft prayer as he crossed the threshold, and he cast a glance around to the equines gathered. A priest and priestess, a blind driven among them, carefully backing towards the wall. A servant also stood among them, and he could also smell the scent of another horse somewhere, the almost new smell of a foal.
"Does anyone quite know exactly what broke the silence? Or who?" he sighed, not sure if his own voice would be acknowledged, and it sounded foreign to his own ears.

Cecillia | Royal family
The words of the adults did little to ease the filly's fears, but she let herself by her cousin all the same, moving to stand aside him. She nodded as he told her to stay close, relishing in the warmth that radiated against her flank. Sure the herd was like a family and Aiko was almost never away from her side, but she felt comforted knowing someone she knew more closely (and who was a horse at that) was nearby. More questions arose from both sides and none of them she could even come close to answer. Well expect what she had supossedly 'seen'. Trying to break the incoming exchange of questions, she piped up to answer that one. "They say the wisps disappeared. There was a loud scream first. It was strange." Scary, she wanted to say, but she felt like it would be a bad thing to panic anyone. She knew that technically she hadn't been adressed by the priestess and in the back of her mind, she heard her parents and teacher scold her. Still she couldn't stand her herdmates drowning themselves in questions. She wanted them to be tackled one by one which would hopefully clear some things up. She dipped her head in apology, hoping they could forgive her for her break in manners.

Yuki & Hikaru Well, there's two sides, to every situation Yes, there's two sides, two interpretations
"Priestess Yuki, I asked you here for a few reasons just as I am sure you have questions of your own. But first we would like to know what has happened within the city? The silence of the holiday has been broken but I have a feeling there is more to it than that. What have you and you followers seen?"
Yuki nodded knowingly. There was much uncertainty she imagined, and from the looks of it, those here in Kaia's temple were unaware of the incident with the wisps. As she opened her mouth to speak, Cecilia's gentle voice piped in with her own account of what had happened.
"They say the wisps disappeared. There was a loud scream first. It was strange."
The spotted priestess snorted in agreement. "What Cecilia says is the truth. Things seemed to be going well enough after the bells tolled, though something has felt... off all day. I've just had a feeling that something wasn't quite right that I couldn't shake. Regardless of my personal unease, we gathered in the gardens and awaited the arrival of the wisps, and were greeted by them shortly thereafter. All was well until we heard someone scream in what sounded like utter terror. The wisps twisted and contorted in disturbing ways until they turned an eerie shade of black and then just disappeared. We were about to return to Argus's shrine when I received your note."
She glanced around the small group, sensing the uneasiness that still filled the room before she looked back to Judith. "Priestess Judith, do you know where the scream came from and what caused it? Many of us have been fearing another dragon attack or something similar..." Her question mirrored the one Dodger had asked a few moments before, not wanting his question to go unnoticed in the chaos. She paused, her gaze moving to Breidan momentarily before returning to the smaller priestess expectantly.
Hikaru ignored most of what his sister and the Priestess Judith said, preoccupying himself with his young nephew's needs. The foal seemed to be rather in awe of Kaia's temple, having never seen it before. The stallion made a mental note to tell Breidan more about it and the stories that surrounded it once they returned home. Stories of the goddess Kaia and the lore surrounding her shrine had always fascinated the golden stallion. Huffing softly he heard his sister mention the scream and turned his attention to what was being said, curious to hear what Judith knew as well. Nuzzling Breidan reassuringly, he waited for the smaller mare to speak once more.

BeatriceI am unwritten Can't read my mind I'm undefined It took a bit for Beatrice to to soothe herself enough to peer out from under her blankets. The door to the room was wide open and she could make out the shape of her mother standing outside. She was speaking with even more unfamiliar voices than the ones she had encountered. Looking around she noticed Donagi standing nearby, a pillar of stability in the midst of all this uncertainty.
Making her way out of her blankets, Bea gingerly tiptoed to where the Magi stood. She wanted to be with her mother, but she didn't want to go out into the strange room again with all the other strange horses and the creature that had scared her so terribly. Donagi was the next best thing. He had been there from the moment she was born, and had barely left her and her mothers side since. He was familiar. He was safe.
Still, the filly was curious and wanted to know what was going on. She was confused and frightened, and she wanted answers. Slinking along the wall with the door, Beatrice plopped down onto the floor, not too far from Donagi. Swiveling her ears about, she listened to the strange voices, trying to make sense of what was being said. Did she mess up? Was her mother mad at her? Was that why she stayed out to talk to the others?

Judith | Priestess
A weight dropped in the mare's gut as Yuki spoke, her verbal image of the wisps causing Judith's shoulders to tense. Black wisps? No one had ever heard of such a thing. Not once since the sacred holiday had come together, since the souls of Breim's ancestors graced the living with their presence, had anything even remotely similar been reported. Perhaps the gods were angry. Argus's rage at the thought of a kirin within his herd, even a child. It had been the kirins that had destroyed Kin so long ago, reduced the city to little more than ash and rubble. It had been the kirins that had attacked the innocent horses, slaughtering those unlucky souls who could not escape their flames. It had been Ignacio that betrayed Argus and now, with Beatrice's birth, it brought back sour memories.
Argus, Judith's prayer danced on her tongue. It had been a great while since she had prayed to the Arcane God; her thoughts and life dedicated to her Goddess. If you can hear me now, I beg of you to forgive Breim. Beatrice is MY child, MY daughter. Rest your wrath unto me and me alone but do not make Breim pay the price.
Clearing her throat, Judith allowed her blue eyes to cross the room taking in the faces that longed for answers. As she turned her head toward the hall she could see Beatrice perched carefully at the back rooms entrance, their gazes meeting briefly as if to remind the pony what she was fighting for. Her daughter had done nothing wrong. She had not asked to be born a kirin, had not asked to carry the burden of her existence on her tiny shoulders. Wither Argus approved of her or not, Judith knew it was her duty to protect her. Kaia had never let her down, never steered her from the wrong path. Kaia would protect them both, if only Judith stood strong and proud before her daughter.
She would not be ashamed of the child she brought into this world.
"Yes, I know who broke the silence. While I am disheartened to hear that our Sacred Holiday has gone ary, I am sure the wisps were merely startled by the noise. They are delicate souls, used to the peace of the afterlife with the God's. It is no surprise such a scream would scare them. "
"But now, I would like you to meet someone." Judith turned, beckoning Bea from the shadows of the hall a light smile gracing her face. She wanted them to know, she wanted all of Breim to know, of Bea. Her daughter would come to do great things, Judith was sure of this. "I would please ask that you are quiet and gentle in your greeting as she is quite shy and you all are new faces to her. But she is my daughter, Beatrice.
Donagi's ears perked as Judith began to speak, a swell of pride filling his chest. That was the mare he remembered, strong and unflinching, proud and determined. With gentle movements he leaned down toward the small filly that now crouched at his hooves, staring out into the hallway as her mother spoke to the crowd. "You know Bea," his voice hovered just above a whisper, ticking the childs ear as he breathed. "She loves you more than anything, and will do whatever it takes to protect you. Do not fear the world, conquer it. Stand tall against the odds and we shall be there at your side."
"Go to her, Bea. We walk beside you."

Donagi's voice was calm and reassuring, though the young filly was still hesitant. Quickly, she darted back to her blanket, grabbing a corner of it in her tiny mouth before walking towards the open door. Stopping briefly, she looked to Donagi once more, only continuing after seeing him nod as he stepped in line along side her.
Still utterly terrified by thought of all the strange equines standing outside, Bea mustered up every ounce of courage she could and stepped out into the prayer room once more, positioning herself safely between her mother and Donagi. Looking up at Judith with her big green eyes full of questions and her large blanket firmly held in her teeth, she flicked her ears forward, looking for some sort of reassurance that everything would be ok.
Her ears dropped once more as she turned her attention to the much larger crowd that had gathered in the room. Strange faces abounded and it filled Bea with even more unease. They all seemed rather upset and Beatrice couldn't help but wonder if it was her fault...

B R E I D A N "Being brave is all about being scared. You just keep on going despite it." __ __ __ __ He wanted to comment. In the lingering sadness that still sat somewhere deep in the pit of his stomach, the colt wanted to whine, and whimper about the wisps and how close he had been to hear his family's voice. It was hard not for him to think about it, after all, even in the comforts and sympathies of the horses around him, and especially his adoptive parents. But, Cecilia, the royal filly who was only a little older than him, made the concerns clear. Yuki even more so. Thus, he leaned further into Hikaru's foreleg, constantly breaking eye contact with the Priestess Judith to further examine his surroundings.
He'd have to take a mental note to ask why Kaia's temple seemed so different compared to Argus's. The poor colt only knew so much about the other gods outside him. Breidan thought back to Cecilia's own words earlier, which he had overheard, much to his displeasure...what if the gods were angry with them? Another priest swore that that was not the case, but what if he was wrong? Why now, of all times, would a scream disrupt the entire holiday?
The child's meandering thoughts were disrupted, and by then he had his cheek squished against Hikaru's leg and his mouth slightly crooked as a result--one could tell from Breidan's posture that he was craving something to take his mind off of the day's events--but his blue eyes snapped back toward Judith.
"Yes, I know who broke the silence." Her words caught Breidan's attention immediately. "Who?" He spoke out impulsively, hungry to be reassured that the cause was not because of a fire or a dragon appearing in the temple's midst.
But, as the culprit who was responsible for the screams revealed herself, Breidan's stomach slowly began to twist in on itself. His reaction wasn't sudden; the colt squinted, curiously trying to figure out why the emerging filly had scales on her back and a crown of antlers on her head, but no sooner had he realized did everything hit him like a brick wall.
Scales. Glittering, gleaming scales. The scales of a dragon. Dragons. Fire. Before his very eyes, the illusion of dancing flames flickered, playing mind games in his head like a broken record. The vision of his mother's home burning to the ground, and the blurry silhouettes of scaly beasts unleashing their fiery wrath...it all flooded into Breidan's memory too quickly for him to handle.
All this, coupled with haunting tales of the demonic, scaly beasts called kirins, who had once laid waste to his herd. His aunt claimed they were extinct, and nothing more than a scary ghost story. But this one was real. It was real, as much as he wanted to deny it. The colt's breath hitched. No, he needed to get away. He wanted to run.
"Ah-a-AUUUGH!" The feathered colt suddenly turned and bolted out from under his adoptive parents. His yelp was cut short when he tripped over his clumsy hooves and slid forward onto his chin, but soon the foal was back up again and running blindly for the nearest wall. "No, nooo! Noooo--!" Breidan wailed, stifling tears. He thought he was being punished. What had he done? What mistake did he make for the gods to send a kirin onto him?!
Yet, instead of fleeing for the exit, the terrified roan pegasus nearly ran into the wall. Dazed by the partial collision, he fell onto his knees, and his body flattened out against the wall as best as possible. His wings, which were usually sleek and soft, had ruffled to an incredible size out of fear, fed by the involuntary instinct to make them larger and appear more intimidating. "Oww..." Despite his seemingly frozen state, Breidan couldn't deny that the collision had hurt.
"Y-Yuki, Y-Yuki, I wanna go hoooome...."

Arges | Driven
Questions bounced around between equines. Many the same but rephrased by their speaker. All questions he wanted answers to. Where did the wisps go? Who broke the silence? And for the tired Driven, will everything be okay? Instead of paying much attention to the surrounding conversation the dusty stallion turned his attention to the architecture of the temple. He understood nothing of how architecture worked or how to build large structure in the first place. More for that it was all built using materials of the earth and his interest lay far beyond the caves, farther even than the skies above them.
Even as a horse of science Arges felt that the skies may have a limit to which beyond that the gods stood watching. But he had become a horse of truth in recent days. And the truth is hard to find. And further beyond, the truth is hard.
"I would please ask that you are quiet and gentle in your greeting as she is quite shy and you all are new faces to her. But she is my daughter, Beatrice."
Arges' yellow eyes widened as the child took its place by Judith with a blanket in tow. A little white face full of youth with two brown ears springing up from the back. Something about the filly's face sparked a primal fear in the Driven. Those green bars were scales that continued on and crawled across the back of the foal and twin antlers looped gently from her head with quick curls at the ends of each tine. The roan foal had suddenly let out a shout and just about flung himself at a wall. Arges cast a concerned look at the pegasus. Had he been just a few years younger he too would have flew in much the same manner, granted he wasn't a bird. Instead he stood stock still. He took primal fear by its scraggly tail and stuffed it under the bed. There was no time for old stories. The show must go on.
With a new calm delicately placed on his withers like a sheer curtain, Arges gave a gracious bow of his head to the tiny arrival followed by a smile aged beyond his years. He spoke in a placid tone. The first words he had spoken all day. "Welcome, Beatrice. I-I hope you may get a glimpse at the night's sky. Our nearest moon is near full and visible through skylight." He gave himself a pause. How awkward of him. Taking a half step back he excused himself with a content sigh. For once, he had given fire a chance. Time will tell how the air will feed it.

Vasko | The Driven
The colt's yelp left Vasko disoriented from where he stood on the wall. He had been quietly taking in the surrounding stream of voices. From what keen ears told him, the Day of Whisps had come to an abrupt end the moment the shrill squeal escaped the young kirin's terrified lips. As more horses had entered and he had found a spot quietly against the wall, the strange filly had been brought back out. It seemed as though another foal had been witness to what Vasko could only guess would be a shock. Kirins were said to be terrifying creatures. They had been responsible for the destruction of Breim so long ago. He heard what sounded like small hooves squabbling for purchase on the floors and a THUD he recognized all too well - the colt had run into a wall. He heard the whimpers of the young Breimian, begging to go home. Pity tightened his throat.
Of course a foal would be afraid. The thought rang through his head instantly. Guilt rippled in his bowels; what a foolish notion that this young, scaled stranger would be met with understanding. He knew in a moment that the upset would further terrify the kirin - Bea, they had called her - but what of the others? His head began to drown in questions, but one thought rang through the rest - she had been born a Breimian. Stepping from the wall and desperate to alter the atmosphere of the room before the terrified filly bolted from their presence again, Vasko advanced forward. He had something to say and the silence of the day had already been broken, anyway. As he passed murky figures, his nose brushed them only gently; Vasko compensated for his lack of vision in his other senses.
He heard another greet the filly, the sound of the voice gave Vasko a more accurate direction in which to walk. Strides carried him swiftly nearer for only a few more paces before he halted and dipped his head in respectful greeting to those before him.
"Miss," he murmured gently, fixing his blind, star-filled eyes on the blurry shapes before him. "Please have no fear. You are a Breimian, as are we all."

Cecillia | Royal family
Cecillia's ears had perked at the mention of a foal. There had been a feeling of unease all day and she latched onto that piece of seemingly good information. She was a little confused though asngo why the priestess was so... cautious in announcing her daughter. Her parents had always told her that children were treasured. They had told her again after the fire had struck Breim, explaining the young filly upon her return that they would be adopting another child. Despite the sad circumstances, Cecillia had been elated. Children were something good. Therefore she was even more startled as someone screamed, soon followed by whimpering and begging to go home. Frightened she pressed herself closer to Haru's side, not understanding what was going on. Aiko's hairs rose to stand on end at the colt's reaction, the dog too fearing some sort of danger. But as only somewhat friendly voices greeted the child, who had been announced as Bea, he settled down again. At the words Cecillia grew even more confused. She guessed the last one adressed the child, ensuring she was Breimian. Of course she was if she was Priestess Judith's child. Or was she adopted. Why was the colt scared? And where they scaring the foal?
She didn't want anyone to be scared, but no doubt the earlier puzzling reaction and current sobs, would make the filly unwelcome. Quietly she detached herself from her cousin's side, setting a few cautious passes in what she believed to be Bea's general direction. She wasn't sure what was wrong, blind to the way the filly different from them. Even if she would have been able to see, she probably wouldn't have cared as she dropped to one knee, offering the new member the deepest bow she could muster, showing her respect. "Welcome to our herd, Bea. We are all family here, there's no need to fear family," she said, speaking as much to the filly as the others, hoping that remembering that fact, everybody would settle down.

I would please ask that you are quiet and gentle in your greeting as she is quite shy and you all are new faces to her. But she is my daughter, Beatrice.
Yuki nodded as Judith spoke, taking in everything she said. It surprised the spotted priestess to learn that Judith had had a daughter, and that she was acting this nonchalant about her child having been the one to break the silence on such a holy day... But at the same time, she empathized with Judith, her gaze flitting to Breidan for a moment. If he had been the one to break the silence, she was sure she would have reacted in a similar manner.
The mare's curiosity turned to a feeling of dread as the tiny filly called Beatrice poked her head out of the door. Her delicate body was covered in glittering green scales. It couldn't be...could it? She felt as if her eyes must be deceiving her. There just a few steps away, stood a kirin, though just a child, her likeness was unmistakable. Yuki couldn't hold back the gasp that escaped her lips. Why was she here? Why now? Was Ignacio seeking to destroy them again? Her thoughts were interupted as the colt standing between her and Hikaru's legs screamed in panic, bolting towards the door only to collide with the wall.
She watched in shock, wanting nothing more than to go to him, to soothe him, and yet she had a duty to those who were gathered here. A duty to Judith and young Beatrice as well. Her ears flicked back softly as she watched her adoptive son huddle in a heap of feathers on the floor, begging to go home.
Hikaru's feelings were put on the back burner as his nephew darted away. He'd have time to process his thoughts later, Breidan needed him now. Determination in his eyes, he tried to begin walking towards the colt, only to realize his sister was the one holding him back. "Yuki..." He growled in a low tone, "Breidan needs us. He needs you. Now." He glared at his twin, irritated by her hesitancy.
"Hikaru, I have to- "
"Now." He repeated, his tone more urgent than before. Yuki only nodded before turning to Judith.
"I'm sorry Priestess Judith, my son needs me, I'm sure you understand..." She trailed off, glancing about the room. "If any of you would like to come speak with me later, please don't hesitate to do so." She bowed respectfully, tossing a hesitant smile towards the filly before turning to the others. "I'm so sorry for leaving so quickly, but I need to get my son home." With that she followed Hikaru's lead over to Breidan's tiny form.
"Breidan..." She whispered softly, nudging him slightly with her muzzle. "We're going home now. No more detours." She nuzzled his mane slightly before continuing. "Come on now sweetie....I know you are frightened, but like I promised before. Hikaru and I are here for you and we will protect you.... We won't let anyone hurt you." The words felt awkward coming out of her mouth, as if she'd said the wrong thing again.... It was upsetting, She loved Breidan dearly, but she wasn't his birth mother, and right now, she felt so incredibly inadequate.
Hikaru nodded in agreement of Yuki's words, lifting the colt gently onto their back. "It's been a long day..." He said, taking a step forward. "We'll carry you home, I know you're tired...We'll be back in no time..." The stallion muttered softly, wanting nothing more than to get the colt someplace he felt safe enough to talk to him. Turning back to the group standing in the temple, he bowed his head as both a parting gesture and apology as he all but dragged his sister away from those she was obligated to be there for.

Haruka | Priest (Argus' Temple)
Haruka remained a quiet observer as he merely listened to the thoughts of the others. He kept close to Cicillia, knowing of the young filly's blindness but there was no need for him to be overly cautious here. The child, although a kirin, was of no real harm. But the priest's ears twitched when he felt his cousin's coat brush past his shoulder as she found her way forward to greet Bea. He lifted his head, pale indigo eyes watching as he felt his chest swell with pride. She greeted the foal with a much friendlier and welcoming point of view than he had. But now everyone in the room had been introduced to her, so what was to be done next?
He cleared his throat quietly, directing his fogged eyes towards Judith's form. "Judith, have you any thoughts on how you will introduce little Bea to the rest of Breim?" Haruka took a few steps towards her, lowering his head respectfully and speaking his words in his usual quiet and gentle tone. He only raised his head again as he turned his attention momentarily to the kirin foal, his expression softening. "She needs a proper introduction, one that will not cause fear; both to her and to the public." His tail flicked behind him and this time the priest offered a soft smile to Beatrice herself. "Cicillia here is right little one, we are all family here. You're safe."
