The Love of Learning RP between @bazookaneon's Breidan and BlueUnicornJ13's Little Bird Setting: Year 1700- Breidan is left in the care of Little Bird, a new member of the Breim herd, as her first student (aside from her own daughter). Still a little unsteady in her new life, she's hoping that helping her husband teach and watch over the children will help her settle in.

Little Bird | Breim | Outsider
The glow of the crystals that lit the walls of the mighty cavern that encompassed Nariah grew brighter and brighter, indicating that the day had begun and it was time for everyone to wake up. Little Bird crawled out of her bed after her husband, Dionysus, had already awaken up and started getting ready for what the day held for them. A small smile painted itself across her face as she carefully walked into her daughter's room, gently waking up the pegasus filly. "Rosario~ It's time to wake up, sweetie." She cooed gently until the pale filly rose to her hooves. Little Bird cooked breakfast in a rush for her small family as well as the other occupants of the library that served as their home. They were mostly scholars that didn't want to stray too far from their studies, but they were always grateful for the Outsider's kindness and a hot meal.
Today was the first day since her official acceptance into the Breim herd that she would be helping her husband with his students. She had been tasked with a small class to test the waters: her daughter as well as another young horse by the name of Breidan. Never in her life would she have imagined herself getting exciting about watching over and teaching foals, not after living the majority of her life as a Vindicator. 'Gods, if anyone that I knew saw me now... they would have never guessed I'd be a housewife and a teacher.' She shook her head, her loose curls cascading down her neck, but a smile remained on her face. She wouldn't ask for anything different.
After breakfast, Little Bird and her daughter waited by the entrance to the library for the arriving students, welcoming them as they entered and greeting parents that dropped them off. The equines of Breim still felt slightly wary of her being so new to the herd, but she could tell her persistence and respectfulness of their culture- her new culture- was finally getting to them. It wasn't long before Little Bird caught sight of the Breimian Priestess, Yuki, and her conjoined twin, Hikaru, and alongside them was a young colt. His blue roan pelt was spotted with patches of feathers, and she noticed her daughter peek at the newcomer from underneath the cloak that protected her pale, sensitive skin. "Yuki, Hikaru, good morning." The strawberry roan mare greeted them, dipping her head in greeting before looking down at the colt at their hooves. "And you must be Breidan. I go by Little Bird, and this is my daughter, Rosario." She tilted her head toward the pale filly at the door who smiled sheepishly.

B R E I D A N "Being brave is all about being scared. You just keep on going despite it." __ __ __ __ Wings folded tightly on his back, the little colt hung close to his adoptive parents' flank, occasionally brushing shoulders with the them. Despite the number of weeks he had spent with them being small, Breidan had quickly started to warm-up to his caretakers, partially because of Yuki's kindness and partially because she had a conjoined twin. To his young mind, there was nothing more fascinating or cool than having an uncle and father figure that went wherever his adoptive mother went. Breidan was also developing a fond habit of standing between their massive hooves; the height difference between Yuki, Hikaru, and himself was astounding.
As he did here. He had been told he was taking lessons with a new teacher today, and was encouraged to be kind to her. Fluffy tail raised high and ears perked forward, the raven-winged colt poked his head from between Yuki and Hikaru's forelegs. "G'morning!" The child greeted with optimism, bowing his head slightly. As he was ushered into the library, the colt bid his caretakers a silent farewell by brushing his head gently against one foreleg, before trotting to the winged roan mare.
"Danny, fer' short," He chirped up in reply, swishing his fluffy tail. "Nice ta meetcha! Miss Little Bird, will you be teaching us today?"

Little Bird | Breim | Outsider
Little Bird nodded her head toward Yuki and Hikaru as the two departed, and she turned her attention to Breidan who strode bouncily toward her. A warm smile pulled up the corners of the mare's lips at the sight of the cheerful, young colt. "I will be teaching you and my daughter today. Follow me, and I'll show you where we'll be this morning." She explained, turning and walking through the library doors. Her adoptive daughter followed close at her side, unsure of all this new activity. Little Bird offered her a reassuring nudge with her russet colored wing and glanced over to make sure Breidan was following them.
"So, Breidan, what do you like to do for fun? Do you have any favorite games or hobbies?" She said as they trekked through the seemingly endless aisles of books. The scent of old parchment and ink filled her nostrils, but they offered a familiar comfort rather than the odd annoyance that it had been when Diony had purchased this place. She tucked her wings close to her body, carefully avoiding knocking the shelving over.
She came to a stop in a small alcove with a brilliantly detailed rug and large pillow big enough to sit on sat, nestled around a ring of shelves lined with different sized books. "Make yourselves comfortable." Little Bird spoke in a cheery, excited tone, eager to begin her first day on the job. Hopefully Breidan wouldn't be able to tell that she wasn't exactly a seasoned teacher.
Little Bird settled down on a smaller cushion that sat on the floor, allowing her wings to droop and rest against the ground. Her brown eyes glinted with mischief as she spoke, "Have either of you been above ground?" A smirk created a lopsided smile on her face. "I'm not going to get either of you in trouble or anything. I'm just curious how interested you are in learning about what's out there. You may not know this but I'm not originally of Breim. I was once a traveler, a Vagabond. I could teach you about the outside world... if you'd like."

B R E I D A N "Being brave is all about being scared. You just keep on going despite it." __ __ __ __ He felt his feathers ruffle with excitement. The young colt often found it hard to keep his feelings under wraps; whether by maintaining a stoic face or keeping his posture composed. His wings were doubly as expressive as his already expressive face was; they ruffled, flattened, stiffened, and flapped to further convey his thoughts. Breidan's eyes were squeezed shut, and he presented a large smile while prancing after the two other pegasi through the library.
"I love to play games!" He cheered happily. The colt's enthusiasm was met with a gentle hush from a nearby horse. "Sorry." Breidan stooped low. "Ahem, ahem, I like to play tag, ball, capture the flag, helpers and thieves, stuff like that." He chirped, quieter this time.
Breidan took interest in the vast array of books, each time glancing around from one shelf to another. "These books gotta be chock-full a' lore! Or picture books!" The colt sang. As they came to the alcove, he would settle on an oversized pillow, letting his small form sink slightly into it. Breidan would roll onto his side and sigh with content, hugging his wings close to his body.
"I've never been, but I've seen picture books of what it's like! Apparently when it gets cold, there's this white stuff called 'snow' that falls from the sky and covers the ground! I asked my auntie about it and she said it's frozen water, and you can play in it!" Breidan lectured enthusiastically, and rolled back onto his stomach.
The colt's blue eyes widened, and his mouth went ajar when Little Bird explained herself. "Miss Little Bird! Have you seen snow before?"

Little Bird | Breim | Outsider
Little Bird's warm brown eyes gazed down at the young colt as his feathers ruffled excitedly during his response. It was obvious that he was quite the enthusiastic horse! A soft chuckle escaped her lips at his excited exclamation that was quickly hushed by a nearby scholar that Birdie nodded at in greeting as they passed by. "Those are all quite fun activities~" She murmured in a hushed whisper. The last thing she wanted was to get yelled at by a studying equine... again. Her daughter, Rosario, listened silently to Breidan talk, her ears perking up at the games he listed. 'I like playing helpers and thieves too! Maybe we can play together sometime.' The pale filly chirped, the stark white feathers of her wings ruffling slightly in excitement.
The older mare watched Breidan contently as he looked in amazement at the shelves upon shelves of books around them. She nodded her head, her telekinesis sliding a book that was poking out further than its neighbors back into its rightful place. "They are indeed. There are books about anything that you could possibly imagine here, and if there's not, we have a means of finding those books and getting them for you." Little Bird explained, her eyes twinkling at the idea of flying off to unknown realms in search of lore-filled books that some scholar needed to finish his important work.
Her ears twitched forward, listening intently to the words that spilled from his lips. A small smile turned up the corners of her own lips at his description of something that she knew all too well. Knowing stories of the unknown and mysterious above ground were coming, Roselia settled in her own chair, draping her long, lanky legs over the rounded sides and allowing herself to sink into it comfortably. "Oh, I've done more than just see snow, Breidan. I've traveled to the tops of the mountains in Onea and played in it while I looked down on Hireath from its highest point. I've even flown through snowstorms before and watched from above as the ground was being covered in it." Little Bird began, her feathers ruffling at the very thought of the frigid climate that went hand-in-hand with snow. "It's colder than any water your fur has ever touched, but it's incredibly fun to play in. You can even make little balls out of it and toss them at others. It's called a 'snowball fight'." The strawberry roan mare explained, excitement an obvious feature on her face as playfulness tinkled in her eyes. Oh how she adored sharing these stories to children who had never in their lives seen such strange, wondrous things like snow and the ocean!
