J A L A "It's time I found my place in life."
___________________________________________________________ "You like that fish? You likin' that fish, buddy?" He laughed back at the river otter that totted behind him, with a small sardine in its mouth. With each slow, sauntering step Jala took down the cobblestone street, Ta'Keet was struggling to keep up just with his mouth full, and occasionally broke into a full gallop just to get ahead of the striped stallion. Eventually Ta'Keet would find a grip on one of the quagga's fuzzy fetlocks and would climb up onto his back from there.
Since the two had formed their bond, Ta'Keet had gone just about anywhere Jala went when he wasn't working. The otter was content to ride lazily on his companion's back rather than jog the entire walk down the street. Using his tail for balance, the otter sat up and gripped its newly purchased snack in its paws, gnawing away as Jala continued through the market plaza.
"I wonder if they're selling coconut milk today..." He was certain he had the coins to buy some. Most of his money was safely stored away at home and he may not have grabbed enough for the day. "How does some curry sound for tonight, Taka?"
Taka chattered in reply. 'No, just fish!'
"Tak, horses gotta' eat too. And I for one am not eating fish." Jala chuckled, giving a slight roll of the eyes. "C'mon, lets browse around and see what they got..."

Yvaine | Cleric The market plaza. A weary sigh escaped past Yvaine’s before she stepped forward to lose herself among the crowd, making sure to carefully not get in the way of others or to bump into them. She had some groceries to get and, with any spare could she could potentially left over, perhaps a new book. Or plant to add to her never ending collection. A flower may be nice for today, she thought to herself as she weaved through others minding their own business and either shopping or simply hanging out among friends. It was rather nice today, as it had been lately, and a flower would reflect such good weather and mood. Something… yellow or orange, she decided. Pink would be lovely too.
Her gaze wandered idly over the stands and shops that were always there or only temporarily, drawn to the bright colors of flags or paintings if not the flowers she was thinking of moments before. Groceries first, she had to remind herself and stay clear of her wants. She needed to get the essentials for both herself and guests. Soon she would be having another meeting, one for those who had suffered since winter and what happened then that was never far from mind, and she had to make sure she had food to accommodate the numbers that would be in her home as well as make choices of what everyone could like to snack or drink without choosing her own favorites in case not everyone had the same tastes.
In other words, there was much to get. Her ears twitched, catching the sounds of passing conversations, and she tried to look over other taller horses to see which way she was going.
