M U I R I S never trust a survivor until you know what he did to stay alive He couldnt sleep.
Ever since the death of his mother, the large Raider had struggled to sleep. Be it from nightmares, flashbacks of the condition he had found her in, or just the feeling of emptiness in his heart; sleep was not something that came willingly.
The night had a chill, but certainly was not too cold. Snow flurries drifted from the thinly clouded dark sky, peppering the ground before giving way to Mother Earth. The moon was bright, shining fully in the sky and casting creepy, twisted shadows from surrounding trees and growths. If Muiris hadnt lived out here most of his life, maybe he would have been unnerved.
He left his tent among the trees, a blanket of foliage covering it for camouflage. Sweeping up his trusty war hammer, his heavy hooves carried him down a small path, probably worn by wandering elk or caribou. The dragon claw necklace, given to him by his mother, bounced lightly against his chest with each step, its bright cat eye gemstone shimmering under the bright moonlight. Avonaco had heard him stir, her quiet paws pulling her light form beside the beast in a slow trot. Her tongue hung from her mouth, hot breath swirling before her muzzle. Muiris's gaze lingered on her scars, including her eye that had been gouged out in the attack, nothing but tattered eyelids held together by stitches.
They kept quiet, simply being in each other's presence as they liked it. Muiris had nothing to say, and the she wolf preferred silence.
It wasnt long before his hooves had carried him to the training grounds, his tired eyes scanning the empty territory. Fresh hoof prints scattered along the ground, showing someone had been here recently, but for now, he was along.
Picking up a soft trot, the stallion took himself to wooden targets, set at different heights to accommodate for the different heights of other equine. Taking in a deep breath, the stallion calmly pulled his mane into a tight bun, packed behind his poll. His tail was looped in a similar fashion, tied off safely with a fashion of leather to keep it out of the way. His breath puffed slowly through his nare, catching on the slight breeze as it circled the grounds.
It wasnt often that Muiris found himself alone in the training yard.
It was so.. silent.
Silence didnt last forever, however, as soon the stallion charged the wooden target, his war hammer raised and a gruff war call echoing from his lungs as he swung the weapon with a strength fulled by grief and desire. He grieved for his mother, but knew he had to do his best. He had to live in her honor; be the best warrior he could be.
He wasnt just going to wear his rank, he was going to live it.

Evokar The Stone Circle "He Builds Others Up Because He Knows What Its Like To Be Torn Down."
A raven had came and left so shortly and with not many other awake at this night he felt his heart sinking deep within the pits of his stomach. Raiders have came and were attacking, he had no time to react, they needed help after the raid. and Evokar could only imagine was the the state of the village was in. To be attacked in the middle of the night and left to crows and ravens in the Raiders wake. He had no time to waste, he felt in his heart he needed to go, hopefully someone would be out and about he could pull them along wiht him. It wouldn't be to hard honestly, at the chance for a fight many of the equines here were so eager to prove their worth, to show they are something. Evokar soon dashed out of the meeting place of the Stone Circle and was rushing outwards, he'd check the training area first, and if no one was ther,e well he'd hope he'd meet someone along the way.
Hooves pounded against the cold snow as he rushed onwards, he was determind to get out there tonight, he'd waste no time. This was not a simple leave it for the morning, these were equines he knew, he was the voice of those who could not speak to Hira themselves, and right now they were screaming and pleading for help. Eyes narrowed as he reached the training area, he prayed to Kaia, please be merciful allow someone to be here. He dashed within the quarters of the arena and there spotted the large stallion with his animal companion. "I need your help now." he huffed out trying to catch his breath while he spoke. "Raiders attacked the outskirts of a village here. No one noticed, they sent a raven, please we need to hurry." he remarked to the stallion. He had seen the fellow, or so he assumed, it was dark and the stallion seemed to be like a shadow within the night. He wanted to say Muiris, but Evokar tended to avoid Raiders most of the time.

M U I R I S never trust a survivor until you know what he did to stay alive The stallion's ears flicked back at the sound of hoof steps approaching, followed by the deep growl of his wolf companion. He stopped, his breath heavy in his lungs, mist from the cool night air playing around his muzzle. "Avon, no." He spoke sharply to the she wolf, pulling his gaze up to find a smaller, flashy stallion making his way toward him. His gaze lingered on the fellow's horn as he tucked his war hammer to his side.
He recognized him as a member of the Stone Circle, but couldnt remember his name; he was never one to let a name linger in his memories if he thought it to be useless- he hardly mingled with those outside of Raiders and Scouts, save for his aunt, Bahar, and his friend, Ezmeralda. It was odd seeing someone else out this late at night, and at first he was ready to welcome them in for a small sparring round and then maybe a late night drink at the bar; but this fellow had some other plans for how the night was going to spin.
His gaze narrowed as the shorter stallion spoke of Raiders attacking one of the smaller villages, his ears shifting back. An attack in the night, when no one was around to protect them. Of course. They sounded like a pack of cowards to him; they'd better hope they didnt leave anyone behind.
"Right, lead the way." The draft huffed, giving the other a short nod before following suit. Avonaco traveled close to Muiris' side, but kept her one good eye trained on the stranger stallion; she was never one to trust others, but if her master seemed to be okay with them, then she would try her hardest to as well.
Speed really wasnt something the large stallion was built for, but he plundered after the lightly built Stone Circle member. They were lucky that the village was not too far off, or his stamina would have faded out before he had the chance to get there. Lungs heaving and nostrils flaring, the stallion slowed as they came upon a hill overlooking the small village. Homes had been broken into, fires raged on shattered wood. Equine of all sorts dashed around the streets to try to control the chaos, only making it worse. Muiris's heart sank at the sight, but now was not the time to feel bad for them, now was the time to get it fixed.
"I would suggest us sticking together the best we can." Muiris prompted, nodding to the wolf at his flank. She darted off down the hill, her nose to the ground as she canvased the area. "Some of the attackers may still be waiting- a trap, maybe, if they wanted to draw out a Stone Circle member." Gritting his teeth, he set down the hill.

Evokar The Stone Circle
"He Builds Others Up Because He Knows What Its Like To Be Torn Down."
Evokar nodded as Muiris and his companion followed after him as they rushed to scene, yet when the reached the top of the hill. He could not believe his eyes. The town was a blaze, screams filled the night sky, while as he stood there he swore he could feel the heat of the fire. His eyes narrowed as he sought to find any trace of those that may have caused this, wondering if any of them lurked within the dark corners or out in the forest awaiting to raid them all once more. Curled ears flickered a bit as Muiris spoke of staying close and Evokar found himself nodding along, though his last comment about trying to style a Stone Circle made him snort. Evokar was unsure of why they would want a Stone Circle member, but then again the Stone Circle knew much of what was happening the herd, and if Raiders wanted information it was best to seek those that knew much. A faint shiver ran down his spine at the thought, but he refused to allow that to happen, he'd let the earth rip him into two before that would happen.
"We should see if we can find any trace of the Raiders. We need to make sure they pay for what they had done. We can help much if they are still lingering around attacking when our backs our turned." he spoke calmly, yet he felt his knees shake a bit. Sure he knew how to fight a bit, but his times in the Stone Circle, he had not practiced that much. Though thankfully he had worked diligently with his blessing though. A shrill scream filled the air, and panic rises in his eyes, as this scream was not like the rest, it sounded painful, fearful. It shook his very core. "We have to go, Muiris right?" he didnt know why at the moment he questioned if he knew him for sure, but he did. Perhaps he craved something concrete, needed something that was certain to bound him to this time.
Yet another scream was heard almost following directly after Evokar question and all he could do was jump forwards from the hill. Legs kept him steady as he landed and he rushed forwards. "Please we can't allow anything else to happen." his voice ached with pain as he looked to the larger Raider, hoping he could hurry and take the lead, Evokar doubted himself able to, but he was quick to act, his mind already knowing what needed to be done. They had to move towards the scream. Whether it was a trap or not, Evokar could not sleep if he stood there doing nothing till the screams stopped.

M U I R I S never trust a survivor until you know what he did to stay alive The stallion suddenly stopped as the scream ripped through the air, his ears pressed forward in the direction of the sound. Even Avon stopped in her search to glance in the direction of the loud noise before continuing on her way. Muiris resumed a stoic, calm nature, but his heart did a flip. That was never good, and if it was caused by a Raider, he had low hopes that the owner of the scream would still be alive when they got there. His partner spoke up, asking Muiris if they should go check it out. The stallion hesitated, his gaze wavering as he struggled to chose between his values and his training. His heart told him to go, maybe there would be hope, but his mind? His mind told him it could be a trap, and then they would all be screwed.
Another high pitched scream echoed through the night, and this time, Muiris did not have time to think. The painted stallion was already charging own the hill, begging for Muiris to follow along. The stallion snorted, nervousness building up in the back of his mind.
But he had to go. He had to keep the Stone Circle stallion safe. His gaze shifted back to his wolf, deciding to leave her to what she was doing. He trusted her to be able to tell the difference between a citizen and a Raider- she had never been horribly trusting anyways.
Muiris leapt into gear, jumping the rest of the way down the hill and landing with a hard thud at the end. His hooves picked up a sprint, taking the lead as he followed the screams. He kept his head high, ears forward, but gaze on a swivel. He carefully pulled his war hammer from his side and kept it close, muscles tense as he waited for anything to jump out at them from the shadows.
This did not feel right at all.
It wasnt long before they came into a darker part of town, the buildings closer together and casting shadows across the streets. Muiris slowed to a quick walk, dipping his head around every corner of every alleyway. The screams had stopped, leaving the two stallions lost in a maze of abandoned homes and shops.
"Stay close." The warrior mumbled, slowly glancing around another corner. A brisk blast of wind blew through the streets, whistling against the alleyways and open doors. A shiver ran down the stallion's spine, but he kept his nerves under control. Now was not the time to be scared.

EvokarThe Stone Circle
Perhaps he knew he should be listening more to Muiris the warrior, the fighter, but yet how could he so easily ignore the screams and wait patiently. He was clearly made for the way of the Stone Circle life, where they were not forced into battle and had time to think. Out here when the enemy could leap out of any shadow how was one supposed to wait and figure out a plan, when the plan so obviously screamed find them. Find the wounded, find the persecuted, find the enemy. Evokar glanced over his shoulder and was thankful to see Muiris catching up to him, and as Muiris spoke to him to stay close. Evokar nodded in understand, he had no plan to really venture to far away from a warrior. Especially when someone like himself could fight, but he was not trained like all of them.
Hooves pounded against the frozen ground, but as the pair ventured closer to where the scream had been heard, it seemed things grown silent, and Evokar found himself slowing down instantly. Eyes glanced nervously to Muiris, before looking ahead and spotting a figure down on the worn path of the small village. "Are we too late?" he asked as he looked ahead and suddenly coming a halt. A part of him worried maybe this was a trap, the other fearful to look at the body and see someone he knew dead upon the streets. As Evokar looked at the figure it was hard to see if the chest was moving from breathing, but it did nothing but lay there. Hooves nervously paced in place a bit, this didnt feel good and he had wished he had brought more of an army with them, then a lone warrior and wolf. If the enemy could do this much damage, what made Evokar think these two could do much back? Not that he doubted Muiris skill, no Muiris would be the one to save his own self as well as Evokar. Curled ears bent back, until the figure before them moved ever so bit. "There alive." he whispered out, taking one nervous step forward, but unable to go much further.

M U I R I S never trust a survivor until you know what he did to stay alive The stallion’s head dipped around another alleyway, his ears on a swivel and eyes wide as they took in every bit of detail around them. He almost stumbled into the smaller stallion as he had unexpectedly stopped, causing Muiris to tuck his legs beneath him to keep himself from crashing into him. Curiosity found his features as he glanced toward the unicorn before following his gaze.
A body lay in the streets before them.
His ears flicked forward as he regathered his composure, stepping up beside the member of the Stone Circle. Evokar spoke. Muiris stayed quiet. His ears swiveled once more, his skin prickling at every little sound, from the howl of the breeze to a crackle from the fires behind them. No, this certainly felt like a trap, and his mind was already spinning to try to find an answer.
He sucked in a deep breath through flared nostrils. The heavy scent of blood was in the air.
“Stop-” He spoke, his breath catching in his throat as the painted stallion took a step forward, obviously nervous. Not that Muiris blamed him, but they had to think rationally. Now was not the time to charge into the unknown, thinking they were going to save a life. Muiris himself knew how foolish that could be.. how that could end them up in trouble. However, much to his relief, Evokar had stopped, but not before uttering a whisper.
“They’re still alive.”
And this was when Muiris wished he lacked his moral compass, like the other Raiders did. Others would turn and leave without a thought. The poor fellow seemed worse for the wear; there was no hope. But Muiris had a problem, and that problem was caring too damn much. Just seeing the body utter a shaky breath had tugged at his heartstrings. The internal battle between mind and heart began, his hooves shuffling against stone as he stepped up beside the other stallion once more.
“We must think rationally.” He whispered back, his brow furrowing as he tried to shove down the nerves that danced in his stomach. “The life of that one could easily cost both of ours.” Now he was mostly speaking to help himself make up his mind. It was practical to leave. It made the most sense. A real raider would do so in a heartbeat.
Pressing his tongue to the roof of his mouth, the large stallion whistled, his ears flicking back at the sound of paws against the dirty streets. Avon appeared at his side, her own attention turned toward the body. Muiris glanced down at the wolf with a wavering gaze. She had gone through so much and stayed so strong. Her loyalty to him was something he would never understand; he simply didnt deserve it. She would run into a fire for him.. but for now, he needed her to run into a trap.
Dipping his head down, he nudged the wolf’s white shoulder, urging her forward. Avon took on a hesitant trot, nose to the ground as she made her way toward the body. Muiris’s teeth gritted together as he watched, weight shifting to his hind hooves in preparation for an attack, but all he could do for the moment was watch the little white canine inspect the fallen figure before them.

Evokar
It didn't take much for Muiris command to make the young Stone Circle member stand still where he was refusing to take another step fowards. Though his attention clearly on what was ahead, heart hammering against its cage within his chest. Something didnt feel right, but how could anything here? When houses where a blaze and the screams of others filled the night sky. Then to this, where a single cry broke the uncomfortable silence. Ears flickered as he managed to glance a bit at the stallion next to him. He was built for this, created to defend to fight, a real stallion of War Forged. Muiris spoke of choosing what to do careful, something Evokar should have mentioned, he was better with words then action, but there he was ready to cahrge down without a passing thought. "You're right of course." he remarked with full honesty.
Though he glanced as Muiris got Avon to sniff the trail below and scout ahead of them before they decided what to do then. Evokar stood up taller now, his ears pulled forwards as he watched the one travel down towards the body. His heartbeat back to the rapid racing it had done but moments ago, there was never peace in times like this. As Avon moved closer to the body sniffing, Evokar noticed the body seemed to take a breath, or something the chest rising once. But other then that? Things felt quite so terribly quiet. "This doesnt look good." he spoke to Muiris quietly. Surely he felt it too, how eyes could deceive them of what truly looked ahead. But seconds passed and still nothing, and Evokar felt himself grow even more uneasy and looked to Muiris for answer, he was about to say something until what seemed be another scream filled the air. Head whipped to the side and looked down and his heart dropped.
Three figures jumped out of the shadows, two large equine and a smaller one. Painted with odd markings on their body which was clear enough for him to see. As well as the weapons they held, and how they seemed to look down at the body which suddenly kicked outwards towards the dog with that shrill scream they heard before. It was a ploy and trick, and four against two and half was not looking so good. The small horse on the ground got up and Evokar prayed Avon managed to get out of the way, but he didnt have to much to dwell on the thought as the the large ones in the group seemed to spot them. Gods help them now.

M U I R I S never trust a survivor until you know what he did to stay alive The stallion watched with tense muscles as his familiar sniffed her way down the path and toward the fallen body. His skin twitched with every little sound, from the crackle of the fire to a scream in the distance. Slowly, the wolf picked her way toward the body, only stopping once or twice to glance back at the two stallions to make sure this was what they wanted her to do. Just as she stepped close, Muiris saw the figure's chest rise in a breath.
Evokar was right, this did not look good at all.
With a piercing scream, the body suddenly kicked at the white wolf. It's hoof barely missed her face, but found her shoulder and sent her sprawling along the dirt. Three more jumped out from the shadows, weapons drawn and blood lust in their eyes. It was obvious that running would do them no good.
"Do you know how to fight?" Muiris spoke under his breath, his gaze locked on the four standing below. Of course, any War Forged stallion would be expected to know how to, but Muiris would rather not run into this blind. He slowly drew his hammer from his side, gripping its wooden handle with the low red glow of his telekinesis.
However, their efforts to stay still and unnoticed were in vain, as the largest of the group turned and met their gazes.
Instantly, the large stallion charged, sword raised as it jumped over the fallen wolf's body and shouted a challenge of battle on its way. Muiris, quick on his hooves for the large fellow he was, stepped in front of Evokar just in time for his hammer to meet the blade of the sword. Shoving the attacker back, he fumbled for his dagger that set in his war hammer's sheath. The steel knife fell to the ground, and he kicked it back to his unicorn companion, just in time to hold his hammer up once more to block another blow.
Mustering up all the strength he could manage, Muiris shoved the large stallion back and swung while he was off balance, the sickening sound of bone crunching as his hammer found his enemy's shoulder.

Evokar
Everythinf felt like it was slowing down in time. Seconds seemed to tick on like minutes and Evokar watched the scene unfold. The looks of the stranger turned to see them and Evokar felt him intake a sharp breath. This was not good, he thought to himself, and he listened as his companion spoke of fighting. He knew how to fight of course, but had no reason to hone in on the skill at all. "Well enough." he remarked, and he instantly took a step back as one of the vagabonds dashed forwards and Muiris stepped forwards to block the attack.
The ringing of metal clashing together made his ears flicker back and hiss out. Evokar didn't assume he would be fighting, honestly he was merely there to help, but was fighting helping? The sounds of something else brought him back to now as Muiris sent a dagger his way. With his teke he grabbed it and gulped as mare seemed to almost slither up towards them. Just like a snake she was ready to strike, and Evokar felt himself being grounded, but with a snort he narrowed his eyes on her figure. Roots shot up from the ground and entangled her legs stopping in her tracks and buying him enough time to try Muiris be rid of the large stallion. Or at least to tempt, with other Vagabonds moving forwards to them, Evokar needed his help, he could hold them back and pause, but fighting one on one, he would be more of a hindrance.
But as Evokar turned to help, he heard the thick crunch of bone breaking, and his eyes looked at the Vagabond and back to Muiris and nodded slightly. "I can help slow them down. If you gravely wound them, we can take them back to Hira." he remarked. But with these sort of lot Evokar wondered if they much rather die, then face the justice they deserve. The mare tangled in the roots was slowly getting out, thrashing around and wounding herself in the process, but this lot was dangerous and cared little for themselves if they could envelop others in glorious chaos. Evokar snorted as he was much better with long ranged weapons, arrows and spears being his sort of thing, but narrowing his eyes and he looked to her, as he slowed his thoughts and threw the dagger and nearly stepped back. The dagger went straight to her skull, he meant to aim for the shoulder, but her thrashing made it unpredictable, and there she stilled and Evokar felt the bile raise in his throat. He killed someone, he killed someone.
Evokar was slowly taking a step back, his gift being puleld back as the roots that entangled her vanished. "Oh Kaia." he whispered, what had he done?

M U I R I S never trust a survivor until you know what he did to stay alive The Vagabond dropped at his hooves, struggling to rise, but obviously unable. Muiris pressed his shod hoof to the stallion's side, spikes on his shoes digging into his pelt. He shoved him away with a kick, his heart racing. He hated hurting others, no matter how much of a threat they were, but he knew it was an unfortunate necessity. His ears flicked as he turned to the sound of his companion's voice, saying that they could bring them back to Hira if any survived. His attention quickly flicked to the mare tangled in vines, his brow raising as he looked back to Evokar. Blessings were always such an odd concept to him.
However, he didnt have time to dwell on it, as his ears caught the sound of more hooves approaching. He noticed Avon in the background, trying her best to nip at their heels. Muiris forced himself to turn her attention away from her. She was bold, sure, but stupid. They didnt have much time before the others would be upon them, and they were severely outnumbered. He whipped his head around to call to Evokar just as the dagger lodged itself in the mare's head, her body slumping to the ground and vines retreating.
For a moment, Muiris found himself stuck, watching as the realization hit his companion and horror filled his face. Muiris knew what that was like. He could remember the experience all too well. Shaking his head, he pulled himself together and ripped the knife from the mare's skull, taking a moment to wipe her blood off on the grass before shoving back in Evokar's direction.
"I need you to slow them down, and we need to move." He said quickly, glancing over his shoulder at the approaching enemies. He gave a sharp whistle, calling his familiar off their heels. "We need to get into the town where we're not such an open target.. maybe draw some through the fire." His gaze flicked toward the crumbling town before settling back on Evokar. "Can you do that?"

Evokar of the Stone CircleYou know that he will give them everything until there is nothing left of him Was it possible for the world to go silent? Not in the way it was comforting, but in a way one would become so numb to it all. Eyes watched the scene before him unfold, he spoke but did he really? The sound was foreign, he was not made for war, for death. Was he made for this herd, this way of being? A voice of another filtered in his ears, and suddenly that dagger was back into his grasp and it seemed to awaken him from what spell he was under. He had to hold them back, and move. He wasn't used to moving and working with his gift but he would try.
"I can do that." He remarked as he refocused his mind and the rest and suddenly roots shot out from the ground grabbing the remaining equine as they ensnared them, it would only last for so long, but perhaps enough to allow them to get away. Turning his head he felt weak and tired. "Let's go." he spoke softly, as he shook his head trying to refocus his eyes as he heard the battle cries of the others. Their words taunting as they begin to break the roots. Evokar gulped, as one mentioned skinning them alive and that was all it took for him to dash forwards trying to not waver much in his step, but all he wanted to do was sleep. It felt as if the ground below was beckoning him to sleep to rest. To fall into its embrace. "Where do we go?" he asked Muiris, his life was essentially in their hooves. A thought that could be quite horrifying, yet Evokar was comforted by it to say the least.
