And Now We Say I DoYear 1699 || Summer Setting: A cleared out patch in a small forest area. A nice and peaceful place to allow clarity or instead for new lovers to meet. Characters Involved: Farsight - tree-branch || Zenith - sea-goddess-cascade
Mind raced back and forth, plagued with thoughts that would otherwise disgrace his family. He wanted to run, he wanted to leave everyone in the dust behind. To spread his wings and fly off, perhaps if Cascade found mercy in his grieving soul, she would snatch him up from the sea and welcome him into eternal bliss. Instead he believed she would merely watch him suffer, not worthy of sacrifice, not worthy to be welcomed. Farsight had to shake his head to rid himself of these thoughts. No, maybe this would be alright, being engaged would be alright? It may not be bad. Though not many would lower themselves to marry a pegasus with low stature, so what was the catch or did his folks buy him a marriage in hopes to not have their son die in the streets like they would. "Control your thoughts." Farsight's father Orion said. Orion knew his son well enough to catch onto that far off look in his eyes showing him that his son was anywhere but here. Farsight let out a deep sigh and nodded to Orion. "Yes father." he offered him a charming smile, the show was on. His mother wouldn't come along to drop their son off to the meeting place, she was to sick with worry. Instead Orion would show him off. "It's up ahead Farsight, I won't be far away. Try to be yourself." His dad offered him a bit of kindness, but the words seemed a bit lost on Farsight. Himself? Farsight smiled and nodded. He watched as his father stopped and nodded to him, Farsight merely nodded back. Let the show begin. Farsight walked into the clearing area and glanced around he was the first to arrive, well at least it would show he was well with being on time. Perhaps give him some brownie points added on? He eyed a few flowers that clung to some vines that trailed down in the forest area. Truly beautiful, a part of him lingered for the scents of paint to dabble an image, but that was for another time, another place all together. Farsight remained looking to the flowers awaiting for the mare who will change his life for good. [WC: 412]

Zenith l Talori l Brewer
The morning had been an arduous one to say the least. Zen's mother had shown up early, forcing the poor horse to scrub out every bit of body paint and hair dye that was on their body. "You're going to meet your soon to be husband. No daughter of mine is going to look like a foal's poor art project!" Zen rolled their eyes. "I look fine, mother." The words were more a desperate plea for the older mare to stop fussing than a believed statement. Honestly, Zen felt like they looked rather awful without the paint. Thier body was naked, bare....It was uncomfortable walking around with the bright colors that had come to be their trademark. Much like a poison dart frog, Zen's body paint screamed that the horse it coated was dangerous and should be kept at a horse length, just the way the appaloosa wanted it. Unfortunately, their mother didn't agree. "Zenith I am only trying to help you make the best impression possible on your future mate! Seriously child, I can't have you scaring him off. He's best best chance at a normal life."The appaloosa huffed loudly. "Maybe I don't want a normal life. Maybe I'm perfectly happy living how I have been for the bast few years. Have you taken that into consideration?" The mare frowned at the younger horse. "Of course I have! I want you to be happy....but... you need a family. You can't take care of yourself in your physical state." That was it. Zenith shut their mouth immediately, eyes blazing in anger as their mother continued chattering about "dressing up" the mobility equipment the appy had come to rely on. The small horse was perfectly capable of taking care of thierself, even if no one else could see it. Sure, they needed help every so often, but Serene made herself more than available for that. Shaking their head in frustration, Zen just waited quietly, barely responding as their mother finished her fussing. Finally the older mare stepped away, glancing over her child, now covered in strands of pearls and beautiful lace. "You look gorgeous, my dear. Now come along, it would be rude of us to be late. Today is a day of good impressions, remember." "Yes mother..." was the only thing Zen could manage to utter as the pair made their way to a small but rather serene clearing in a forested area of Inaria's outskirts. The golden horse's mother nudged them forward expectantly. "Go on dear, and try not to be yourself, alright? We want him to like you, not run in disgust."
Zen rolled their eyes once more before taking a few tentative steps out into the clearing, quickly drinking a calming potion to help quell the anxiety rising within them. The stallion they were meant to marry was already there waiting. Quietly they approached the winged creature, hesitancy visible in each step. Zen wanted nothing more than to rip off the finery their mother had draped on them, and to dive into a vat of brightly colored paint. Inhaling sharply, Zen finally got up the nerves to address the stranger who would change their life. This was ridiculous, but, according to their mother, it was necessary. "I'm sorry if I kept you waiting. My mother wouldn't stop fussing over me and it delayed my arrival. I'm Zenith." The horse dipped their head slightly as they glanced at the stallion, taking in his speckled coat and rather lithe and delicate appearance. [WC: 574 ]

Farsight || Harrower || Stallion
She entered the area and was the first to speak words, his mother would scold him for such things. He turned his head to look at her, and he prayed thanks to Cascade he knew how to put on a show. Looking to Zenith, he saw his fate chained to the ground. Heart quickened in pace as all he wanted was to flee, to disgrace his whole family and leave. How was he to handle all of this? Yet Farsight was knew to keep it cool even in Harrowing one must keep a poker face and not allow others a chance to know the cards you have dealt. "Zenith.." He spoke the name as if tasting it for the first time, letting it roll of his tongue to grasp a better feel for it. "No need to fret, I was merely admiring the scenery. Mothers do tend to fawn so much on their children" A charming smile growing on his lips as he bowed to her, with wings and all. If anything he most be gracious, not a disgrace. Hie rose from his bow. "Yet it is a true pleasure to meet you Zenith." he spoke soft and sweetly to her. "I'm Farsight, I must admit you are a true beauty, and words don't do you justice." He smiled to her all the more as he walked towards her a bit, still allowing space between her. Good his mother will be so pleased with his compliments. His father would be rolling his eyes telling him to be himself. If Farsight was himself the first thing he'd ask was, what the hell happened? Classy Farsight classy. "I know so little about you, would you perhaps care for a stroll and talk a bit?" he smiled all the more. Yet the quickened pace of his heart would not stop. He worried if she agreed to walk that he would merely walk, trot and then gallop off into the sea. He much prefer Cascade swallow him whole, than allow this to be his life. He was an entertainer, a pegasus, and here he was with well.... A crippled. He wouldn't condemn her for it, but she would do the same for him? Wouldn't she prefer some large muscled stallion that could aid her. All he could do if she fell over was read her fortune in the cards, so lovely. Oh it looks like help maybe coming, just sit.. errrr lie still. A walk was a horrible idea, but he had a knack of speaking before thinking in situations at time. He would have to work on that. Farsight merely tilted his head a bit smiling all the more. [WC: 449 ]

Zenith l Talori l Brewer "Zenith... No need to fret, I was merely admiring the scenery. Mothers do tend to fawn so much on their children. Yet it is a true pleasure to meet you Zenith. I'm Farsight. I must admit you are a true beauty, and words don't do you justice."
The appaloosa felt the blood rush to their cheeks as the silver tongued stallion spoke. It had been years since anyone had referred to Zen as beautiful, and they couldn't help but feel mildly flattered. That said, Farsight seemed... young. Painfully so. Looking over his delicately fine features, they had to admit, he was rather aesthetically pleasing, even despite his age. "It's a pleasure meeting you as well. I must say, I'm rather surprised. You are much more handsome than mother alluded to." Zen chuckled nervously, happy their face was already a deep shade of chestnut. They studied the winged stallion as he began speaking once more, trying to figure him out. Was he genuine, or only saying what he thought they wanted to hear? "I know so little about you, would you perhaps care for a stroll and talk a bit?"His word's took Zen off guard. Many horses took one look at them and saw it fit to treat them like a fragile incapable child. The request to take a stroll was so refreshingly normal that Zen couldn't help but feel entirely elated. "A stroll would be lovely!" The excitement in their voice was impossible to hide. Maybe this could actually work. Maybe there was someone could actually see past their disability. "I haven't had anyone offer to join me for a walk in quite some time." Zen offered the stallion a genuine smile, stepping a bit closer to him. "Do you know this forest well? I used to wander around out here all the time as a foal..." They trailed off a bit, voice growing almost wistful. "I used to know the area like the back of my hoof...I wonder how much has changed." Walking passed the stallion, Zen eagerly picked up the pace as they made their way to a beaten path. It was times like these the appy was glad for their gaited heritage, as they could keep up with most horses even without following along at a trot or a lope. Sure, it likely looked a bit awkward with only two working legs, but it was effective, and in the end, that's all that mattered. [WC: 409 ]

He watched the hue change in her cheeks and smiled brightly at that, it seemed flattery could do wonders and perhaps be his savior here in the darkest times. But the more Zenith spoke, the more it seemed a bit of guilt seemed to eat him away. He knew how she lit up at this words, watched how she spoke and expressions and movements. It was all key for his pression to read others, though at this moment he sort of wish he never could do it. Zen's question allowed him a moment to forget his guilt and instead focus everything he had on Zen. He chuckled a bit, "I used to when I was younger, I sadly haven't been in the forest much either. My harrowing keeps me quite busy." He chuckled a bit more and soon quickly moved to walk along side of Zenith.
"You used to play around the forest? I wonder how we missed each other, but I guess when we were little the forest seemed so much larger than what it actually is." FarsighT eyed the worn and battered path and smiled seeing the forest once more. Yes he too played amongst the foliage with others who lived from the streets. How everything seemed a okay out here, but sadly adult life had to take over. His ears flickered back, adult life. Forced engagement and here he was thinking only of himself. How he wanted to flee, how he could already feel his wings being clipped. He gulped faintly and smiled sheepishly. He seemed nervous, but it wasn't as simple as that.
"So what do you do Zenith? Since it seems we both have neglected the forest a bit." he made a light joke, anything to help him distract his thoughts from what they were. He was so young, would he be married quickly? Have children? Suddenly his mouth felt so dry would it all be rushed? Surely a long engagement would be alright? Surely their parents wouldn't rush it. Farsight had to stop thinking about it, all he knew was that he had to make this first meeting go well. Perhaps if words spread well how easily he could delight Zenith and make Zen smile it could do him wonders in the future. And there he goes again thinking of himself. Farsight looked about awaiting for her reply, hoping they could have a good conversation to push his thoughts to the back of his mind.

"I used to when I was younger, I sadly haven't been in the forest much either. My harrowing keeps me quite busy. You used to play around the forest? I wonder how we missed each other, but I guess when we were little the forest seemed so much larger than what it actually is." Zenith bit their lip. We likely missed each other because you're still a child... As much as they wanted to make the snide comment, the spotted horse thought better of it. "Yes, the forest did seem much bigger and more mysterious as a child." They said rather absentmindedly, wandering through the twisted foliage that surrounded the pair. "So what do you do Zenith? Since it seems we both have neglected the forest a bit."
Zen sighed softly. "I'm a brewer by trade. Much of my time is spent in my shop creating potions and the like. I have a rather decent customer base, so I'm able to make enough of a living to support myself. Unfortunately, my mother is most displeased with my life choices and feels I need to settle down with a husband. She even went as far as asking my brother, the Emperor, to choose a mate for me." The appaloosa paused, trying to decide how to continue , glancing at the stallion, who even with all the small talk and flattery, looked as if something was slowly dying in his eyes. The golden and copper horse came to a halt, swiveling their ears to make sure they hadn't been followed. Feeling confident the two were alone, Zenith spoke again. "I'm sorry..." Their voice was soft, barely a whisper. "I can't imagine you want to be here any more than I do, and honestly I've had quite enough of the pretenses. Can we just be frank with each other? I feel like it may be the only way we can make this arrangement work in any sense of the word... Tell me, harrower, is this the future you saw for yourself?" Their voice trailed off as they faced Farsight, hoping he would be honest with them. At least if he hated them, they'd know and could figure out a way to tolerate each other. [WC: 367]

He listened to her speak of how her parents thought ill of her lifestyle and he too seemed to be in that same boat. So why not take out two birds with one stone. Settle them both down before any damage could start. He merely sighed, his pace slowed a bit as she continued to talk more the dread filling his throat. No this was not how any of this was supposed to go, why couldn't they all just ignore this, just for today. Just so his mother would be pleased and perhaps he could still live his life, while his mom assumed everything was smitten, yet instead Zenith wished to discuss it further knowing all to well there was more than meets the eyes.
Eyes looked to her as she asked him to be honest, and she seemed not so pleased with any of this so why so should he pretend he was? "In all honesty, this all came as a shock to me, everything. Harrowing allows me to see others fate, but sadly enver my own. A taboo of the sort." he chuckled faintly but it wasn't filled with charm, but more a sad pathetic laugh. "So I see you are about as thrilled about this arranged marriage." He looked to her and honestly wondered what her parents thought he would make such a pleasant husband? He wasn't muscled, he was eye candy. Literally eye candy, so much many couldn't tell what gender he was. He looked to her and offered a sincere smile.
"Le'ts be honesty, it maybe the only thing we have going for each other." he never meant it as insult, but more as the truth, so far it seemed neither was eager for this, and his desire to flee was growing more and more with each second this awful conversation continued. Yet why couldn't he just run away for it, but if he left what would it mean for his parents. He sighed and looked to her. "We don't have much choice in this matter, so it's okay don't apologize, this was just out of our hooves..." Ears flickered back as locks of his mane came undone from his updo of hair. Wings spread out gently, as if a fine reminder they have not been clipped, well at least not yet. Wouldn't that be a sight, to cripples bound together.

"We don't have much choice in this matter, so it's okay don't apologize, this was just out of our hooves..."
As true as that was, the horse still felt a pang of guilt over being the one this young stallion would be saddled with. "I suppose you're right, but I'm still sorry...for both of us, as the case may be." Zen sighed heavily, shaking their thick forelock out of their eyes. "At this point we can only make the best of this situation. Who knows, maybe one day we can come to call each other friend. In the meantime, I would like to get to know you better, and I would like you to know me as well. If our parents expect us to spend the rest of our lives together, I'd rather us not be entirely miserable if it's at all avoidable."
They stopped speaking, watching Farsight, trying to better understand the stallion. This had to be a heavy weight on the young pegasi's shoulders, and Zenith worried for him. He seemed so eager to please his parents, and it almost felt as if they were trying to set him up for failure. "I'll make you a deal. When we're around our families together, I will act like a giddy, utterly smitten fiance, and you can play the part of the caring, charismatic mate to be. None of them have to be frustrated at the end of the day... all I ask in return, is when we are alone, as we are now, we drop the act. I have no desire to be someone I'm not, especially around you..." Zenith paused once more. "Farsight...I have no desire to force you to be someone you aren't, and honestly, that's all I ask from you as well.... " The appaloosa tentatively approached the stallion, sliding the breaks into place on their cart so as they wouldn't slide around when Zen "sat" deeper in it, resting their legs. "Do these sound like agreeable terms to you, at least for the time being?"

Farsight || Harrower || Stallion
Sorry for both of us. In all honesty Farsight really pitied himself the most. He wasn't the ideal of perfection in the herd, he dabbled in sin constantly and here he was with an arranged marriage, a curse for them both. Trapped in a world neither wanted to be apart of, yet the string of fate have decided to tie them together for some odd reason. How Zenith talked, he knew for a fact, his father would like Zen, the real Zen, not some smitten yearling swooning by the words of a charming fellow. He nodded to Zen and they spoke understanding what they mean. "yes, I don't want us to have to put a mask on everywhere, at least alone with each other we can be who we are." He looked to her as she moved towards him and he offered a light smile, always charming regardless of the situation. He could see death in the future of someone and he will still try to smile and reassure him not everything he sees is true.
"A deal." he nodded. He let out a faint sigh of relief well he felt a bit better, both of them not so thrilled about it all. Perhaps they could be friends or something, acquaintances? If she was to love another he would never tell, he'd let her have her romances and perhaps if the same happened to him she would do the same. These could be things the two should talk about later on. Surely they both had enough of a shock? "Yes I believe we should get to know each other a bit more, maybe each time we meet tell each other something new?" he remarked to brow raised a bit as he looked to her. Surely they wouldn't meet to much at first seeming as the two would have to well court a bit? And then what? Wedding planning, future planning. He could feel his tongue want to shrivel from lack of water or at least it felt that way. He nestled his wings deeply to his side, letting out a soft breath, trying to calm himself. His father's words echoing in his head 'Be yourself' But could he? He still felt on edge and him ever feeling that way, meant to put on a show hide it all away. "So let's start with one fact about each other. As for me, I am an only foal, I have no siblings at all." He smiled a bit and he felt the pressure of being an only child. it meant it was up to him to bring his parents honor, to have their child marry so well, well it was a blessing from Cascade herself. While Farsight assumed Cascade was laughing so much on his behalf.

"Yes I believe we should get to know each other a bit more, maybe each time we meet tell each other something new? So let's start with one fact about each other. As for me, I am an only foal, I have no siblings at all."
Tell each other something new each time they met. An interesting concept for sure, but Zen wasn't opposed. "An only child? I can't imagine what that would have been like, I have close to 15 siblings and we grew up in the palace with the servant's children as well. Never a dull or quiet moment." Zen laughed quietly, cringing slightly as they realized their calming potion was starting to wear off, leaving the appy's anxiety to begin rearing it's ugly head once more. "Ummm...A fact about me.." The horse trailed off, their ears rotating around nervously as the auditory hallucinations began once more. Zen knew they weren't real, but it didn't help the paranoia that stared to build within. "Deep breaths, Zen..." The horse murmured softly to them self, forgetting for a moment where they were and that they weren't alone. Shaking their head, the present circumstances came flooding back and Zenith glanced at their companion once more. "Uh... I love painting...When I have spare time, I like to sneak away on my own and just create. I'm not very good mind you, but it's one of the few effective ways to deal with my anxiety.." They trailed off once more, realizing they may have revealed too much. It was still early, much too early, for Farsight to know the extent of their health issues, mental or physical. It was bad enough the mobility equipment screamed out to the world that Zen was disabled, but honestly, anything further than what could be seen was no one else's business, least of all this strange stallion. The roan wanted to bury them self, to flee the situation, but they knew if they did that, their mother would likely never let them hear the end of it. So instead, Zen stood there, frozen for a moment, hoping the statement had somehow gone unheard by the stallion, but they knew that was unlikely. Their heart began racing, and the horse closed their eyes, focusing solely on their breathing for a moment, trying desperately to prevent the anxiety attack that was threatening to barge in uninvited. Ugh.... today was not going as well as Zen had hoped. [WC: 409 ]

If only the cards could show him his future, perhaps he would have been more prepared for the issues that seemed to be rising one by one. She mentioned having around 15 siblings and Farsight was in complete shock, he couldn't imagine having so many others to fight for attention from their parents, to make sure they all got time with them. To many, and if they married, those would all be his family too. He gulped, which only made him crave water anything to parch him from the desert that formed in his mouth.
Though when she spoke of painting her perked up intently. Painting. It was one of his passions, he was more of the messy painter, that kind that left his canvas thick with paint as well as himself. Letting it all look in motions of strokes. Yet it was what was said at the end that really caught his attention. Anxiety, painting was on of the few ways she deals with it. Eyes widen faintly as he watched her, watched how he looked when panicked, the trying to calm oneself with deep breaths, closing of eyes. Farsight's nose began to twitch a bit as his ears laid back. He was going to marry this, he saw the catch in all of this. Sure he may make his family proud being a pegasus to marry a bloodline of the Emperor, but it came with a heavy cost.
Farsight nipped at his wings as if fixing a lose feather, but in all honesty he was buying time, he had to talk had to say something, but what? The more the silence went on surely it would throw them both into running off, yet if that happened what if she tumbled and was left laying on the ground with no Farsight there to help. He could already hear them all screaming his name for injustice. Farsight could just faint, that would get him out of it, he felt as if it wouldn't take much. Yet that wouldn't look so well, but it could get him out of the marriage? Yes fainting, show them he couldn't care for her like she needed. Faint Farsight FAINT!
He took a step forward ready to make a show of it, but he looked to her, and his guilt was eating him alive and he hasn't even done anything yet. Damn. He took another step forward, he was almost shaking with nervousness. Please Farsight for once in your life do something your mother would actually be proud of. "You know... he paused for a moment offering a reassuring smile. "I'd really like to see your paintings, maybe sometime I can show you mine?" he tilted his head trying his best to not flee, but one could see the feather of his wings ruffle up from nerves, but for once Farsight stood his ground and stayed.

"You know...I'd really like to see your paintings, maybe sometime I can show you mine?"
Zenith opened their eyes as the stallion spoke. He was smiling reassuringly, but everything about his body language screamed that he wanted to be anywhere else. He'd noticed what they'd said...Of course he noticed. It was impossible not to... Zen sighed heavily as their heart rate slowly became more controlled, even if it still threatened to burst right out of their chest. "Yeah...I'd like that." Their voice was almost a whisper. This wasn't going to work. It couldn't. Though mildly hopeful at the beginning, Zen was quickly realizing this entire thing was just setting them up for utter failure. Farsight was in over his head, being stuck with them...Anyone would be. Anxiety was still swirling around their mind, muddling every thought and emotion that passed through the small horse's body. Unlocking the breaks to their cart, Zen rolled back a few short paces shaking their head in frustration. Could they seriously go through with this? Marry someone who obviously had issues with their disabilities? Zen wasn't expecting love, or even much of a relationship. It was obvious that Farsight longed to be free, and Zenith had no desire to cage him in any way shape or form,and honestly couldn't have cared less if he eventually fell in love with someone else. Hell, they'd gladly keep his secret. All the spotted horse wanted in return was some decency and respect....for horses not to act like being around them was too much work...but apparently even that was too much to ask. "We should probably head back soon...My mother will be wondering where we are and may even send a search party. She probably thinks I tried to skip out and head home alone. I can only imagine yours would be right on board with her." Zen huffed softly, voice shaky as they spoke. They had to admit, the idea, how ever wrong, did seem rather enticing. looking toward the ground, Zen slowly turned to begin the rather arduous trek back to the clearing. This had been a disaster... Maybe once they got home, the small appaloosa could brew up a potion capable of making them forget the whole thing [WC: 379]

He was messing up, he could feel it in his bones, he was messing it all up. Be Yourself The thoughts echoed in his mind once more. That's all she was doing was being herself letting him know more about her, the good and the bad. Surely Farsight could act more like an adult than some quivering babe, that he was now. He watched pulled something on her cart and soon she was moving forwards speaking of how they needed to return. No... He thoughts sadly to himself, no. It shouldn't end like this to leave with such sadness would do no one any good. He's seen what happens when he parts with customers with sad fortune telling. It eats them alive all day, it tears at their soul, and gods forbid Farsight would allow this poor mare to have the same happen to her. No, he was in charge of fates and the cards could not decide how all of this will play out.
"Wait." he called out to her before rushing forwards and suddenly standing before her, for once he felt like a mature adult, he had to do this he had to say the things that where on his chest. "We promised we could be ourselves to each other, so I have to tell you I'm scared. I'm scared as hell about all of this." He paused as his ears flickered back to his skull as he looked to her. "You can tell me anything and I won't judge you, but I ask the same you do for me. We have a difference of words, ages, and so much more. I never expected to get married at all. I never saw that life for me... But what you said early about us being ourselves that was more than I could have hoped for. I want to be friends... I want to know you and sure something we may say each other may spook each other out. But it has to be said..."
He took a deep breath in as he steadied himself through out it all and looked to her. "I'm sure our folks can wait just a little bit longer, at least until we feel a bit better about everything. It'll be okay Zenith, surely they will get used to us being out of their sight." he chuckled making a light joke, hoping to see a smile even a small one would be great. If one thing he knew, things should never be left with such sadness and despair between two horses. if things didn't get fixed a bit it would eat him up, as well as his folks, and surely it would do the same for her. If anything he'd like for this to be easier on them both. If they could be themselves with one other, perhaps they have a chance at not hating each other through all of this.

"Wait."The copper horse turned around, staring at the younger stallion. "What?" Their retort was sharper than intended, but Zen almost didn't care. Anxiety was still swarming their small frame, and it was difficult to control the the intense emotional reactions that were currently overwhelming the appaloosa. "You can tell me anything and I won't judge you, but I ask the same you do for me. We have a difference of words, ages, and so much more. I never expected to get married at all. I never saw that life for me... But what you said early about us being ourselves that was more than I could have hoped for. I want to be friends... "You've been judging me since I walked into the clearing. I've seen it in your eyes. I understand that you're scared....this isn't any easy thing to deal with, and I know the prospect of being stuck with someone with as many issues as myself can be...overwhelming." The horse snorted softly. "I don't expect you to be the perfect husband. I'm far from being the perfect wife myself..." The word stuck on their tongue, hating the sound of it. "Frankly, I don't expect you to ever love me. I'm fine with that. If you want, we can even look at this arrangement as a..." Zen paused, searching for the right words as they pressed their ears flat against their skull . "A contract of necessity. If you bring home a different mare every night, I honestly don't care. What you do is your business. I just ask if you are going to do that, please don't get caught...I'd rather not have to explain it all to my brother." The red horse offered up a sympathetic smile. "I know this is all a lot to take in, trust me... But at least we aren't alone in all this, ya know?" Zenith began digging a small hole in the dirt with their fore hoof. "Yeah, we're going to have to deal with a lot of heavy stuff really quickly....especially with how fast my mother wants this all to go...but we can take our personal relationship as slowly as we need to...ok?"

Farsight || Harrower || Stallion
Words hit him, like the icy cold waters of the ocean. He merely looked to Zen as they spoke the words, and all he could think was, that he should have never been himself. His fathers advice were like whispers of Ignacio, tempting devilish words. All they did was lead him down to this. This argument were suddenly Farsight felt guilty for saying anything, but he never allowed it to show on his face, he took her words with grace letting her spill out her fury onto him. It was odd how Zeniths words was his own thoughts, perhaps he was easier to read when himself, it was something he'd have to fix learn to keep a poker face through out everything in life. All it did was make the guilt rise within him like acid from his stomach. Though he was a bit perplexed as he watched her offer him a sympathetic smile, maybe they both need to blurt things out without causion. Who knew.
Broaw arose a bit as her last words caught him a bit off guard. "How quickly your mother wants this to go?" he tossed his head shaking away those words a for a moment as he cleared his mind. "You're right despite how fast everyone wants this to move, I'd like to come at a pace we are comfortable with. I just know I don't want to be strangers in this. I don't want us to look at each other and never really see one another." Was he making sense? Surely he was, at times arrange marriage as often lead to this darker path. How each one becomes a stranger before their eyes, which only lead to lies, cheating, sin and so much more. It was toxic that invaded the mind and body and the only release most of the time was death. One step at a time, just one step at a time. They were forced into something that seemed to revolve around moving fast, which none of them seemed to be graceful at doing. He let out a soft breath and looked to her offering her a genuine smile, the kind that touched ones eyes.

"You're right despite how fast everyone wants this to move, I'd like to come at a pace we are comfortable with. I just know I don't want to be strangers in this. I don't want us to look at each other and never really see one another."
Zenith nodded in agreement, hearing their own thoughts relayed by the stallion. "Maybe we could make it a point to spend some time together at least once a week? Hopefully those meeting will be less stressful than today has been." They chuckled softly, anxiety finally beginning to dissipate some. "If you'd like, you could join me later this week for lunch? Maybe we could even paint something afterwords?" They returned Farsight's smile with one of their own, just as real and honest as his had been. Zen opened their mouth as if to speak again when they flicked their ears back, the sound of tree branches snapping catching their attention.
"Zenith! Zenith where are you!? How many times do I have to tell you not to wander, it's too dangerous for you."
The red horse turned around to face the intruder, eyes rolling as their mother appeared among the trees. "I'm fine, mother. Farsight has been a perfect gentleman and has been keeping me safe from any harm." Flashing the younger stallion a slight grimace disguised as a smile, they continued. "We were just about to head back anyway, as we both have other engagements to attend to." Zen bit the inside of their cheek to keep from laughing at their rather terrible pun. A small part of them had hoped Farsight had found it amusing as well.
The mare huffed, staring at the young pair incredulously. "Yes, well, next time, please be more considerate. You had me worried sick about you!"
"of course." Zen sighed heavily, taking a few steps to stand next to their betrothed. The constant worry and doting got tiring rather quickly, and the copper horse wished with all their being that their mother would just walk away. Her overbearing nature was not helping the situation at all... "Mother, if you don't mind, I'd like Farsight to walk me home..." They paused, turning to look at the stallion before continuing. "That is, if it's alright with you, dear." They offered up a warm smile, leaning their head against Farsight's neck as they looked up at him. It was the first physical contact they had had with the stallion, and though it wasn't under the best of circumstances, Zen had to admit, it was rather comforting in an odd sort of way.

Farsight perked up a bit at the mention of food and painting, he could feel his stomach make a low growl in response to the word food. Hungry, he never bothered to eat much before this, to worried that his nerves would make him wretch before Zenith. What a sight that would be. He gave Zen and nodded and smiled all the more. "I would really enjoy that, would be nice. Gives us something to focus on too incase of silence." he chuckled a bit, though it was quickly caught off as a voice of another was heard calling out for Zenith.
He watched the scene unfold before him, getting to understand a bit more about their family's antics. He smiled and dipped into a bow respectively to the mother. "I am sorry for causing such concern. It was my idea to go for a walk, to talk amongst the trees. Truly did not mean any disregard or to cause you any worry or concern." he relieved himself from his bow, knowing his place well within the herd. Most of his kind, pegasus was looked down upon, not even welcomed in all areas of the herd. He eyed Zenith and flashed her a swift cunning smile, catching her words. It seemed he wasn't the only one that was quick on their hooves with jokes and innuendos.
As he rose he heard Zen speak of them asking for him to walk Zen home. Farsight wasn't expecting it, but he too could play the ever so charming fiance to be. "It would be quite an pleasure to walk Zenith home if I have your permission of course." He flashed Zen's mother a sweet smile, hoping to win her over with his polite words and actions. The contact surprised him to say the least, though he didn't jump from it, merely have his heart a race. As Zen looked up to him, he looked sweetly down to her, looking as if he had loved her the moment he saw her. At least mimicking the look he has seen others give each other. Or the look his dad gives to his mother. Attention turned back to Zen mother awaiting judgement.
