Stolen Glances Valerius & Frannie
Why was she doing this? She didnt really know, but every time she looked at him her emotions went hay-wired. It was as if she saw the candy she loved the most and all she wanted to do was enjoy it. Frannie instantly flustered up, no that sounded wrong, it wasn't like that. Not anything like that. She is an idiot, she should go back to Ammy and pretend she is not being a fool out here waiting for him to do what he does patrol? She wasn't sure, but she has seen him out here before. Frannie shook her head trying to breath. "Frannie its just a crush? Or something. It feels nice and I want to be around him, but I don't want to be well...." she flustered up, it was best to not talk about that sort of things. But she wanted to be around him, to have him smile at her. She wanted his attention, wasn't that love? Wasn't that attractions and crushes? That's how all her books described it, she felt it to be true, but she wasn't sure and it made her heart anxious.
Frannie peaked from behind a wall glancing outwards to see if she could spot him. Her stomach grumbled with uneasy. Frannie sadly wished she had some sort of candy treat or something. Sweets already comforted her, why did she not bring any with her. It would be more obvious to see Frannie sneaking around without candy, most would see this as a time she was about to strike. Frannie bit her lower lip nervously, the butterflies in her tummy refusing to settle. "What am I doing?" she asked herself nervously.

The chevalier walked through the palace gates, ready for his morning patrol. His chest plate glistening in the early light as he made his way to the captain, ready to receive his assignments. Even though it was procedure, he already knew what was in store for him. Make his rounds, organize the guard and make sure the remained at their posts, ensure the safety of the residents of the palace, and report any suspicious activity. Though the only thing suspicious at the moment was the movement around the corner of the route he took every morning.
What was Frannie up to today? The girl was notorious in the palace. The kings taste tester had a bad habit of getting into trouble. Even so, she was kind enough, and always happy. She managed to make the king smile, when so much in the world was capable of causing him to lose his whimsical attitude. For that, Valerius was grateful to her. She was always capable of lightening the mood. And aggravating his superiors which could be equally entertaining. When he passed by her and went around the corner, he made a quick stop off in the kitchen, collecting some choice candies and sweets to hang on to for the day. He recognized a few as he favorites and was sure to pick them up, tucking everything into his chest plate to keep it hidden. As he walked out he tipped over a bucket of water, leaving a bit of a trap for Frannie when she would come around the corner. A harmless prank sure, but today was certainly shaping up to be an interesting one.

FrannieI followed my heart and it lead me to the fridge
Frannie had nearly missed seeing him as she was to busy arguing with herself. That was it, this crush had drove her to madness. She was mentally ill and she was going to be a wall builder. Oh gods, she was gonna live by the wall, she was gonna die by the wall. Gods help her now, please be kind. She made a silent vow to stop all this nonsense, but as of course she was about to be on her knees begging to not go mad, it was when she saw but a glimpse of him. Her breath hitched in her chest and she felt her heartbeat stop for a moment did he see her? Did she mess up everything with her bickering to herself? Was she saying all of this allowed? Frannie shook her head and took in a deep breath. "Frannie you can do this, you are a strong and powerful female. For gods sake you eat poison." she remarked to herself, clearly giving herself a pep talk before she followed after him.
She trotted after his hoofsteps and saw he seemed to have escaped through the kitchen, she almost sighed with delight. A stallion after her own heart! How could someone not love food? Especially sweets?! She met a small pony who hated anything sweet, cake, icing, little sugar mints. All of it. Frannie for a moment thought she was going to faint. She made sure she ate extra sweets to make up for the fact someone did not enjoy them. How heart breaking! Frannie eyed the kitchen, he nostrils flaring as she felt the grumble and rumble of her stomach. But she had to ignore it at least for now! The thought of food, oh so distracting for Frannie made her not notice the tipped over bucket of water. One hoof in the water, the next hitting the bucket and sudden;y she found herself on the ground with and oof.
Eyes widen with sudden embarrassment as she tried to get up quickly but ended up knocking some pots over, making a clanking noise. Oh gods oh gods, she was in for it now. Franny high tailed it out there and into the closet room to hide out. Heavy breathing escaped her lips as she tried to quiet her racing heart. Eye peaked out one of the windows and she spotted Valerius at least she knew she was on the right track and could maybe keep up with him this time with no issues. Or so she hoped.

Valerius had already made his way down the hall, but he caught her slip out of the corner of his eyes. She knocked over some pots and darted into a nearby gardeners closet. The stallion stifled a chuckle and turned the corner. She was sure to follow close after, so, he plucked a small frosted bun from the hideaway in his chest plate, gently placing it on the bench he was walking past. A small treat for his stalker. Honestly, the stallion had noticed Frannie following him around. She glanced after him when he was on patrol, and she always seemed uncomfortable when they were together. Valerius thought he knew why. Frannie was a serial lover. She seemed to have a new crush every week, but it never seemed to extend beyond that. It was all very innocent, but her childish antics didn't help the rest of the palace guard warm up to her.
The chevalier on the other hand found it endearing, even if he knew it was all a farce. She didn't love him. She didn't know what love was. And he didn't love her, and he probably never would. But, she was a sweet kid, and he certainly felt some kind of connection there. More like a little sister than anything else. He could tell her, but the stallion decided it would be more fun to let her figure out. And playing a small prank on her, well it was all in good fun. Val certainly didn't mean her any harm. Quite the opposite in fact.
As he made his way down some stairs, he dropped a piece of candy on each step, turning and leaving a trail right to the hidden servants passage to the kings quarters. It wasn't a route he usually took, but he figured with the fallout earlier, it might be best for the girl to make herself scarce. So he waited for her to show up, with his final peace offering. A small sweet cake with all the fixings. Hopefully he would forgive her for leaving the water for her to trip, but honestly, it wasn't really safe for her to be wandering around in the first place. A lot of the palace guard didn't take kindly to unsupervised slaves. And Frannie was not exactly the most popular slave in the palace. He'd hate for her to be punished for doing something like shadow him around his patrols.
