____________
Othala | Vagabonds | The Flock
____________This day was rough. Only a few were picked for the mission and those who stayed behind at the Aery were doomed to wait patiently - more or less. Othala was glad that she had something useful to do during the whole day. Renata kept her and all other horses which would help take care of possible injured homecomers busy, but it wasn’t enough work to stop the young mare’s mind from consider all the things that could go wrong on that rescue mission. And of course she thought about the eventuality that Tegan or their Mother could have ended up in Torrine...maybe Tegan was even one of the rescued pegasi? No. Othala shook her head in frustration. She had forced herself not to think about her family too much and it worked most of the time, but today...well today she wasn’t able to keep them out of her mind. “They are coming! They are back!” It started as silent murmuring but soon the information reached every part of the camp. For a moment the mare was frozen, not a single muscle moved besides her fastly beating heart. It was foolish to hope that her brother was one of the rescued but she couldn’t help it. Breath. In and out. Now stay calm and do your yob, she told herself and stepped out of her house. Renata and her helpers would check the newcomers first, then send the less injured to Othala. Now she could only wait, because it might take some time before the first Pegasi reached her and even longer before anyone had the time to fully inform her about the outcome of the rescue mission. How many could they saved? Was there mission discovered by the Guardians? Who was injured and how seriously? Too many questions and no answers at the moment. After some time a little filly landed right before her. “Renata has send you the first horse. He should arrive in a few minutes.” the small pegasus told her and left again. That little mare was always eager to help, maybe a little bit too eager. Only a short time after she left, Othala noticed a warm reddish coat between the trees. The pegasus wandered around a little, then leaned against a tree and looked around. So it seemed that her first patient had just arrived. “Hey, you.” she called out softly why taking a few more steps into his direction. “Come over here. I can help you.”

Othala | Freedoms Flight | Medic The mare watched as the stranger hurried to get to her. His reddish coat was a little dull and she could see the uncertainty in his steps. The flight from Torrine to the Aery had to be a hard one in his condition. Othala was just about to open her mouth to tell him things like “everything will be alright” or “ you are safe no”, something to calm him down but he was faster than her. "Othala, what are you doing here?"
What a silly question… ”I’m here to he…..wait what?”
Renata or one of the other Flight members could have told him her name, but there was something in his voice and the strange way he looked at her that made clear that he knew her. And she also had the feeling that they had met before...but where? Maybe when she traveled through Aquore? Propably…. “Othala sweetie! Say hello to our guest!” she could clearly hear her mother's voice echoing through her thoughts and memories. “Sonador! What are YOU doing here?” she asked back with the same hint of disbelief but also joy in her voice. She had not see the stallion in years! And now he was here. “I...I left Aquore after that sacrifice…it was enough I just...couldn’t stay there any longer. I know that I disappointed my family with that, it is terrible that I left them behind like that but...well there is no excuse for that but I had to do that.” the young mare tried to explain herself. “It is great to see you too, Sonador, after all those years” she replied with a warm and honest smile. In her memory, she remembered the stallion much bigger, but she had probably just grown so much since she last saw him. Sonador was the first familiar face here in the Aery and even if she got along with most of the other horses in the flight, it was great to have him here now.
“Oh well...I’m not that certain about that, but I hope that she will understand me someday...at least.” the mare said and took a closer look at Sonador. He had no serious outer injuries, yet he looked only like a shadow of the stallion she once knew.
“Wait here, I’ll be back in a second Sonador. Everything will be alright, you are home now. Try to relax” With that words she made a twist on her hind legs and galloped back to her hut. When she came back she carried a small batch of different herbs. “Here” she said and looked down on him compassionately. “That will give you strength and numb the pain for a while, so we can get you inside, out of the cold.” She waited while the stallion swallowed the bitter herbs without any complains and after some minutes the pain was washed away from his face, at least for now. “ Stand up now and lean on my shoulder. My hut is right over there” she said warmly but with authority in her voice.

Othala | The Flock | Medic
Othala never had problems with looking at serious injuries or illnesses, but seeing an old friend like Sonador in such a bad condition was hard and she could feel the burn of rising tears in her eyes. She fought the ridicules tears down until nothing was left but a strange shine in her eyes. She was not strong enough to prevent Sonya from collapsing, but at least she could move the nearest mat a little closer with her telekinesis so that he wouldn’t lie on the bare ground. “It’s okay Sonador. Rest now” she said with a soft voice and and stroke with the tip of one wing soothing about the red bays back while she was looking out for the right potions and herbs in the seemingly endless lines of shelves. When she found the right things, Othala mixed them together a little bit absent but with experienced movements. “Here, drink that. I fear it won’t taste that good but it will help you getting some strength back and it should ease your pain.”
In her eyes was no pity, because she knew that he wouldn’t want that, but grief. It was so sad how the herd who should love each and every one of their herd members treated an entire breed like that. Sonador has such a loving heart, he don’t deserve this.
“Will you fight?” his voice brought her thoughts back to the here and know. For some moments she fell silent, then took a deep breath. “I don’t know. I’m no fighter...not at all. I don’t harm anyone. It’s just….I dunno but this don’t seem to be the right way either. We need to do something to be free and equal...but a war...it feels wrong. Deep in my heart. I’m so thankful that I found a place here, free from prejudice but...ah I don’t know, we’ll see.” she doesn't even tried to hide the frustration in her voice. “And you?” she asked back after a while as she examined the rest of Sonadors body to see if he was just incredibly weakened or if something else caused this state.
