Evokar Stone Circle of War-Forged
Hooves barely made a sound in the fresh snow, as his more narrow form moved onwards towards the market of Skeldr. He was in some need of things, but he of course would look a little bit here and there at equines items. In hopes perhaps the thing he craved the most would show its face. Yet many a times he would travel to the markets, and he would leave empty hoofed most of the time. Many wondered what he was doing there, many blamed his lack of friends, said this was the only time he could be social. To him it was weak minded that tried to break his spirit. Honestly, he was in the search of books. Poems to be exact.
If any of War Forged knew what this stallion was looking for, he could only hear their banter at him. Evokar the tenderfoot, be careful Evokar step on a flower you might sob. The mocking would never end, he had been teased before about buying a book, but the book was tales of ole' of battles. So he was teased a bit, but not as much as it would be if he was caught with a book of poems. Yet his heart yearned for such writing. Writing that freed the soul, that allowed the reader to feel exactly what the poet had planned. Evokar had only one book of poems and it had been read through so much the pages were wearing even thinner now. So much so a few pages had fallen out. Evokar had shamefully began to rewrite all the poems in a new book in hopes to preserve the sacred words.
The sounds of a busy market filled his ears. He felt his spirits lift some, perhaps today could be the day? He could find what he so longed to have of his own. He wanted the poems so dearly, it was almost shameful. He wanted the peace the words brought, he also longed to write as such. How marvelous would it be if he too could share such feelings so easily. Evokar shook his head, and moved onwards with a soft smile gracing his lips. Curls bounced as he trotted forwards into the busy grounds of Skeldr Market

Marea Mare / Traveling Merchant / War-Forged Marea had been watching a painted unicorn out of the corner of her eye for a good while now. Of course, she had had a few interested customers she had to tend to in between her little surveillance project, but the stallion was still wandering the market every time she looked up again. To a passerby it would appear he was just browsing; perhaps he would buy something if it struck his fancy. But there was an intensity to his gaze as he looked over the wares at certain stalls, and Marea would bet her left hoof that he was searching for something in particular. It wasn't an average day for her; usually she preferred to sell her stock on the road, or in foreign marketplaces, but she had a good bit of left over odds and ends she wanted to lighten up on, so she had spent the better part of her day in Skeldr's market with her cart. All in all, a very dull way to unload her goods, which is why she had to occupy herself musing about the intentions of shoppers. She kept a closer eye on him as he wandered closer to her makeshift stall, really nothing more than a cloth awning hung over herself and her cart, and when he was close enough to hear her over the commotion of the marketplace she decided to try and prove her speculations about the stallion. "Excuse me," she began, setting her green gaze right on the younger stallion's face, making it unmistakable to assume she was calling out to another equine, "I couldn't help but notice you haven't yet found what you came to the market for." Marea did not phrase it as a question, let him correct her if her assumption was in fact wrong. "Perhaps I could help you. I get a good bit of my wares from other territories, and maybe you're not looking for something not quite so... local?"WC: 332

Evokar Stone Circle of War-Forged
A subtle sigh escaped his lips, each stall he wandered past was a depressing let down each time he took a moment to stroll through the wares. Nothing was here that he wanted, but who was he to blame for this misfortune? War-Forged equine never really dwelled onto books much, especially not what he sought out; poetry. Curled ears remained ever so alert, eyes scanning each nook and cranny, maybe one was hidden in plan sight, he vowed he would not leave empty handed. Yet still he found nothing, yet he was so deep in thought he did not feel the eyes that peered out to him. Or notice how she stared, in all honesty he was lost in his own world.
There was a hitch in his breath as he jumped ever so faintly as he was being called out. He glanced to the side and spotted the mare that spoke out to him. He offered a charming smile, and dipped his head respectfully to her. "You are far too correct." he chuckled a bit. "Indeed I am in search of something, I have been let down many a time, but perhaps you might have such things." he remarked casually. He moved to approach her and her wares more carefully, each hoof step planned out, and while he looked calm as a the first snow fall on hill, his heart and mind was racing. A part of him curious if she was apart of a plot, someone destined to try and mock him and bring him down more. Yet he prayed to Kaia, it was just someone wanting to do a good job, and build a nice reputation.
As he finally made his way to her, he dipped his head once more to her. "Well in all honesty, Im looking for..." he paused for a moment, as if shame had made him want to close up, how he feared the ridicule that would follow his next works, but he craved the written pages, the smell of old books. He needed it as much as the land needed snow. "Im in search of books, more to be exact poems are my main interest. Bit anything of literature or cultural ones would fit my fancy as well." Evokar so well with words and being a complete model citizen, could feel the ruh of heat on his cheeks, but yet to speak so freely of the things he wanted, it had a sense of freeing him in a way. It felt good to speak such words, and while he did worry of her mockery, the teasing, he hoped maybe, maybe she wasn't like the others.

Marea Mare / Traveling Merchant / War-Forged The stallion's tone and manner of speech surprised Marea, it wasn't often that you happened upon a fine-spoken stallion in Onea. Judging by his unmarred coat and seemingly polished appearance Marea had to assume he wasn't a fighter. That, and the fact that he was after reading material. "Well," Marea began, not wanting to chase off a potential customer, "I do have a couple books, but... I'm not sure they're what you're looking for," she continued, turning to dig through her cart, "You see, I have this client who lives out in the forest, by himself. He's an old, old alchemist who likes to collect anything written and bound he can get his hooves on, but he passed on these two books..."
After some digging and rustling around, Marea managed to find the old leather-bound tomes. "Ok, let's see... This grey one is 'Taming the Regal Mountain Goat'... and this one is 'Fine Talorian Cuisine.'
Marea looked down the books in mild disappointment. "Well, I can see why he passed on them. These don't seem to be very enlightening by any means," she admitted. Looking back up at the refined unicorn Marea felt a pang of guilt. Certainly the War-Forged were not the most sophisticated when it came to literature and fine culture, so someone whose interests lay in that particular topic must go on feeling a bit deprived. "I can absolutely pick some up on my next journey, though," she supplied, "I know who to go to for good books; I've been supplying the old alchemist for over a year now. I would've brought some back to the herd in the past, I just wasn't aware anyone would be interested in them."WC: 288

Evokar Stone Circle of Warforged
A moment of relief washed over him as she seemed to not snort or laugh at his request and actually seemed to want to help him. Not even in the "tough love" sort of way others would deem it. Evokar flickered his ears not wanting to think about such matters. Instead he honed in more on what the mare was saying. A soft smile graced his lips as she spoke of having a few books, but nothing enlightening. " Well I mean they are enlightening in a way..." he laughed shaking his mane a bit. " Nonetheless, I am actually interested in getting them. I'll take them off your hooves." he remarked dipping his head respectfully to her. In honesty he'd flip through them enjoy a different writing style and maybe learn a thing or two, while it wasn't what he wanted, he seemed to treasure the literature world. If he grew terribly bored with the books, he always tended to use them to create his own book art, to make something undesirable desirable. Yet he perked up at her words, she'd be willing to keep an eye out for his books of his liking? And an old alchemist equine. He snorted a bit shifting a bit in his place. " If you ever ened help traveling up there, I'd be more then willing to travel along with you. I may not look much like a fighter, but I was blessed with being useful in other manners." he chuckled a bit. He was in touch with nature, able to bend the will of plant life around him. Evokar wasn't the best of a fighter, but it did not mean he would not. "But none the less I thank you for being so willing to do such a thing for me." he remarked a bit sheepishly. "I wish I had found you out sooner." he laughed a bit. " Oh forgive my rudeness I never introduced myself. Im Evokar." he nodded to her lightly. A part of him somewhat wished she'd be willing to have him accompany her to such a place, but he could understand if she said no. They had just meant, but Evokar of course was an honest stallion, willing to do his part to help out and of course now eve with just talking to her, this mare had gained a loyal customer. Marea Mare / Traveling Merchant / War-Forged Marea was quite honestly surprised that this stallion was willing to buy the two books, she'd resigned them to their fate of becoming kindling or makeshift bandages long ago. "Well, it's certainly nice to see these two pieces lave my cart," she said, "I'm sure they'll be better off with you than they would with me. In fact," she continued, "Consider them a good faith gift." Marea nudged the two books forward before the unicorn could object, "Honestly, I paid next to nothing for them in the first place," she insisted. She herself never really devoted much time to reading. She was literate, as one had to be in the merchants trade, but rarely did she find the time to read through a book that wasn't a payment or inventory ledger. "Oh, I'm sorry too, my name's Marea," she said, bowing her head slightly, "Pleasure to meet you." The mare considered his offer for a moment, it wasn't often that someone had a desire to accompany her on her trips, save for a couple of her merchant friends and the Raiders she hired on occasion to provide extra security. "I suppose there'd be no problem if you'd like to come along. The alchemist lives in the forest, a fair ways off the War Lord's Road, but it's a very isolated area. I've never had trouble with Cultists out that way; I assume they must like to prey on the more populated areas. He's not expecting me anytime soon, but I'm sure if you brought a couple books you've read through and offer them up as a trade he'll surely take you up on it." As much as the old stallion hated to admit it, he got lonely out in the woods with nothing but his raven to keep him company, and Marea was sure he'd oblige this stallion as a fellow book enthusiast. "Perhaps we could arrange a trip next week," she pondered, trying to recall if she had any other customers out that way who might need something delivered. WC: 345((No problem! And do you wanna actually rp out a trip to the alchemists? We could timeskip there of course if you prefer~))

Evokar Stone Circle of War-Forged
Oh how he wish he had a better control of his emotions at times like this. He could feel the tingle of excitement race down her spine as she was willing to have him tag along to see this old alchemist. Every muscle in his body seemed to rejoice at her words. SO much so, he could feel the hairs on his legs stand. Like hearing a song that chills one to the bones, this was no different. He was bewitched and gods, he wanted to know more. His curious nature, his hopes and desires to perhaps find others a bit like himself. An eccentric to War Forged. But first thing was first he was a civil being, not foal struck. "The pleasure is all mine, Marea." he chimed in with a smile. "Thank you for well...." he paused for a moment as if taking a moment to think of the word, but instead he smirled largely. "Thank you for everything." he chuckled a bit
"Who would have thought I would have the chance to meet you as well as get my hooves on some well.. interesting reading material. But I have to say I am very interested in meeting him. As Long as you will still have me, I will gladly accompany you. I do have a few books I have rewrote so he can gladly have the originals of course." he voiced. "Do you get a lot of customers? Or something you seem to sell the most of? I'd love to return the favor to you. If I know a bit of your wares, I can tell a some of the Stone Circle more about this and can help you with the business." he stated. Evokar was the kind if on gave him a flower, he'd plant flower beds in ones wake. He gave back far more then he would ever receive, but there was a beauty in giving. There was such a beauty in making another smile, or fill them with pride and joy. Surely those were the best things he had ever received. Nothing compares to such things.

Marea Mare / Traveling Merchant / War-Forged
Marea returned the stallion's smile with a fond one of her own. It wasn't a common thing to elicit quite such an exuberant reaction in her customers, more often than not it was decidedly business-like, but the mare would be lying if she claimed this wasn't a nice change of pace. "You're quite welcome; I'm pleased to make my customers day in any way I can," she said with an elegant dip of her head, barely holding back a small simper, "Especially when a unique opportunity opens itself up. It does get a bit dull making the same routine transactions day after day."
"Oh my, you're too sweet," she said coyly as he inquired to her business specifications, "I dabble in a bit of everything, but exotic wares are my passion - anything from the others herds, be it jewelry, armature, literature; I'm interested in it all. What's the old saying? 'Jack of all trades, master of none; still more useful than a master of one'. I like to give my customers a variety."
Now that the talk turned back to business, Marea collected herself and thought a moment, "Of course you're still welcome to join me on this venture, and I have no doubt Emeric - that's the old book hoarder - will accept an even trade of book-for-book. He'll probably be pleased, in fact. I haven't been able to find him anything that lived up to his eccentric tastes for a few months now." Marea pulled a ledger out from under a pile of goods, flipping the worn leather cover open to reveal neat lines of receipts and notes, somewhat smudged from use but otherwise perfectly legible. "Would 6 days be too short notice?" She asked, looking up from her notes, "Like I said, it's not a particularly long or arduous journey, but we will have to skirt the more frequented areas of the road where Cultists have been sighted. I can have everything we need ready by then," she proposed.

((Sounds good to me! If you wanna have him choose a meeting place and agree as a short little reply I can switch back over and get the journey under way c: ))

Evokar
Stone Circle of War-Forged
He found her an absoulte delight in all honesty. From her manners, to her way of words, she was a delight. Evokar was thankful that she said something to him, called him out from the sidelines. To think if he was a bit more courageous he could have met her sooner. Evokar shook his head a bit, but perhaps timing is everything. "I do believe its better to know a bit of everything, then to be a master in just one thing. I cannot imagine all the things they might miss, if they only focus on one thing." he chuckled a bit as he looked to her.
Curled ears perked forwards a bit as the subject moved towards the business aspect. Heartbeat quickened as the thrill of it all was a warm welcome to it all. "Yes, of course I would be more than happy to accompany you to see Emeric." he dipped his head gratefully towards her. "As for the time six days would work wonderfully for me. I can be a bit busy, due to being apart of the Stone Circle, but I can have most of my work done by then." he sighed with content. His breath coming out in a fine mist. Today had been better then he expected, sure he did not get the books he wanted, but he got something far more valuable instead. He possible made a new companion of the sort? With a promise of something new and exciting to come in the future. His emotions was rolling from bliss to happiness. So much so the few blades of grass that poked out from the ground seemed to sway towards him, as if wanting to dance around his hooves.
"Well shall we meet here then in the morning." he remarked dipping his head. "id hate to take away your whole day with my and this little journey/" he chuckled. Somehow he had a knack of making a simple travel into something that took all day. Like the time Fox and him traveled to an old herder to help with his herd. Hopefully this one would not be as troublesome. "I shall see you then Marea. Thank you once more." he laughed as he smiled brightly to her. Evokar turned around and trotted off, but not before looking over his shoulder and smiling to her once more.

Marea Mare / Traveling Merchant / War-Forged Marea smiled as the charming stallion waxed on about their impending trip; he seemed more excited and pleased over his find than all of her earlier customers from today put together. "I'm very glad to have been of service," she said, dipping her head, "And I'm looking forward to the trip. It'll be nice to get out of town again before my big trip I have scheduled for the coming month," she added, truly glad that she wouldn't be stuck in Skeldr town for an entire month more, "I'll have everything we need for the trip, all you have to remember are the tomes you intend to trade."
Once the two had said their goodbyes, Marea let out a sigh of contentment. Today had gone better than most, and all business aside she was looking forward to her and Evokar's trip purely for the time they would be able to spend together. It was refreshing to meet a stallion of her own herd who wasn't inclined to fight or prove himself to everyone he met. Marea herself was no scholar by any means; the only reason she knew how to read and write was to keep a ledger of her goods and sales, but it was pleasant to see someone enjoy reading and learning to a high degree, and she was even more pleased that she had the resources and contacts to fuel his passion. Marea left the market later that day with her cart in tow and a satisfied smile on her face. ----------------------- timeskip ------------------------- Marea had decided to leave her cart behind today, as she could fit the supplies they may need - some simple bandages, a map, her dagger, and of course the tomes Evokar would bring for trading - into her saddlebags. It was only a short trip, no more than a handful of hours, and her cart would only get in the way once they merged off the War Lord's Road and onto the small, rugged path that lead to Emeric's hut. Satisfied that the pair would have everything they needed, Marea stretched her legs as she waited in the marketplace for Evokar.

Evokar The Stone Circle
The morning had finally arrived and Evokar had to admit he was absolutely thrilled. He had spent the night before rewriting as many books as he could, so that way he could make sure he would have something the old alchemist may enjoy. With five books in his pack, he prayed he had enough to offer, but it was all he could manage in the time frame he was given. A few were already copied elsewhere, but the last three? Well Evokar had rewritten each page for his own copy, so that the alchemist could have the original. Something Evokar felt there was power in such keeping the first. Eyes glanced outside and he snorted a bit, he had to go now if he wished to be on time. Buckling the bag on his sides, he dashed outside rushing towards the meeting spot.
Hooves pounded on the cold ground as his wavy and curled locks, waved behind him. Heartbeat raced as he spotted Marea in the meeting spot. Evokar began to slow his pace as he soon stood a few feet by her. "Marea it is good to see you. I must thank you again for all of this." he dipped his head respectfully to her. Despite how some of the herd viewed mares, Evokar found them to be equals amongst the stallions, hell he'd seen some mares that could deck it out with even the best of the raiders. "I brought five books, each differ from the other, so hopefully he will find something he likes." he laughed a bit sheepishly feeling the heat rise on his cheeks. "Hopefully I did not keep you waiting long?" he spoke out to her gently as he offered her a soft smile.

Marea Mare / Traveling Merchant / War-Forged
Marea was awoken from her day dreaming as the sound of fast-approaching hooves reached her ears. Looking up, she smiled as she saw Evokar trot the last few strides that separated them, a large grin present on his face. His enthusiasm was infectious; it had been a fair while since one of her customers had been this excited about one of her ventures, and Marea felt a tinge of his excitement creep into her own body. "You're most welcome, I'm glad to meet someone in Skeldr who is interested in literature. Now when I happen upon a good deal for books or poems, I won't have to pass them up," she said, dipping her head in return.
As he explained what tomes he had brought along, Marea nodded in affirmation, "Oh yes, I'm sure he'll find at least one that catches his interest," she promised the stallion, "He has a wide range of interests and hobbies." She took the five books and nestled them away in her saddlebags. There they would be safe from dirt and any other grime that might that might harm them. Turning back to the painted stallion, she let out a short laugh, "Oh no, I wasn't waiting long," she assured him. Satisfied that everything was ready to go, she stepped onto the road and motioned for Evokar to join her, "If you're ready, we can get this journey under way," she proposed, "As long as we don't dawdle at Emeric's hut, we should make it back to Skeldr before dark."

Evokar The Stone Circle
Odd how he couldnt help, but smile in Marea's presence, she was indeed refreshing to be around. Able to be more of himself then to anyone else in the herd honestly. It made him feel good and oddly so comfortable as well. "Good I'm glad you did not wait long." he laughed a bit sheepishly. Evokar gave her a curt nod as she mentioned of being ready to head out. "Ive been ready since we mentioned of doing this, its been the highlight of my week honestly." he laughed all the more, a kind smile growing on his face. Evokar trotted along side of her, as he carried his saddle bag pack seemed to bounce a bit as he trotted.
Yet if one could look closely at the pack, maybe they could see the wiggling on one of the sides. Something indeed was in there, but as it what? Well that was a bit of a mystery even the stallion Evokar seemed not to notice. That was until a small white round rabbit face poked out of the bag crunching happily on one of Evokar's pencil, and soon hopped right out of his bag. The sudden shift in weight caused him to stir as he looked over, wondering if Marea had perhaps nudged at his bag only to see that oh so familiar face. "Margret." he hissed a bit at the small rabbit, who was know bounding happily next to the pair. "Oh Im so sorry Marea, I didnt realize I had a stowaway." He cast a downward glance at this familiar, who clearly paid no mind to Evokar. "Ive recently found her abandoned and cared for her myself. But she has some separation anxiety." he confessed a bit nervously. Perhaps he had babied her a bit to much, but she was a baby, but now, by her size Evokar decided she was going through he rebellious teenage ways. "I hope its alright. She is a good little dear." he mummered a bit looking fondly of her. If only rabbits were not as cute, perhaps Evokar could scold her properly, instead he was completely smitten.
