Soothing Touch An Rp between Ry and Corrine
Corrine nodded along as their teachers spoke to the young hippocampus clerics. The ones able to dwell in the water far more easier then others could. As the teachers spoke, they began to teach them the basics of how therapeutic the waters could be. How one doesn't have to waste every grain of their strength, but cold use the element around them to help heal, not only the body, but the mind as well. Corrine nodded along to them, easily following along, they took the basic of what then knew and applied it to the waters. This should be easy enough, the young clerics practiced a bit, before their head cleric spoke.
"Enough." she remarked with a soft voice that seemed to demand respect with each words that left her mouth. She never had to raise ehr voice to them, just merely speaking all drew quiet and awaited for her words. She smiled gently and spoke on. "I see many of you blessed with a gift of using the water as an aid, but sometimes to test real talent and skill, we must be pushed to the limit." she chuckled a bit as she watched many of the clerics glance around nervously. "So today we are heading to a main pool grounds and will be healing any and all that need it for free of course. This is all to be done with what you have learned today." The head cleric chuckled, as many of the clerics were a gasped. They hadn't worked on strangers before, Corrine herself was nervous, but found a tense desire to prove herself worthy of healing delight. She was born of Casacade's image, unable to obtain any other form. Water was her gift.
The clerics made their way to a large pool in the town and soon began to speak of offering healing of the mind and body. Clerics took on equine to help ease them from anything that may bother them. Now Corrine, while she watched others call out, felt a bit nervousness settle in her stomach, but soon with a bit of encouragement from others Corrine was soon addressing the crowd.
"Come weary souls to the pools of Clerics." she called out gently. "let us ease the burden you rest upon your shoulders. From aches of the body, to tension of the mind. We seek to aid, and help." she remarked outwards. Corrine eyed the crowd a bit. Many joined in the pool, not minding getting a free massage or what not out of this. It wasn't every day the clerics were out offering free work to any and all. Even pegasi were welcomed to be seen. Something Corrine was eager to see Post 1 WC || 449

A gentle sigh rocked chest, as the chestnut equine sank into the heated waters, feeling Cascade's embrace wrap about his frame. He felt as if he would never be free of the tension headache, lodged behind his eyes, an after effect of his venture in Aodh. He had hoped it would be gone by now, for it had been acquired early during his stay, but he had had no such luck. Oh, it had eased, since his return home, but it had yet to fully dissipate. There had been so many reports, briefings, and things to do...this was his first chance to fully relax since being back home.
Rycaron had been pondering the idea of seeking a cleric's services for helping to forcibly loosen his muscles, since nothing he had managed had done the trick. Not even the lovely swim down to Kiephis had done the trick, though it had helped to calm his mind a great deal. But then...clerics seemed to begin appearing, and the emissary wondered if perhaps a class had let out. Ears perked, watching them, noting how they began approaching different equines and offering something. Head tilted slightly, ears twitching again as another voice rang out--but this one had an odd ring of familiarity.
Aqua eyes sought out the voice's source, gaze coming to land on a pearly figure he had not seen in quite some time. She'd matured so much, he dare say he barely recognized her. Wide eyes narrowed back to normal, as the stallion climbed to his hooves as gracefully as he could, approaching the mare and gently clearing his throat.
"Might I partake of this proffered help, Corrine?" Rycaron announced, as he approached her right side, eyes warm and friendly, a polite smile curving lips. Truly, he didn't need to be so formal, and surely she remembered her child hood friend, but he couldn't seem to help it. It had been drilled into him, and even before that, it was part of his nature. Corrine Healer of Talori
A soft smile graced her lips as she watched others take in horses to the water. It made her fill with hope, with something that perhaps with all the good they could bring out to the world, wouldn't something give back to her? Corrine scolded herself mentally, that wasn't right and she knew better. Yet she heard a voice, someone that sang the same song she had once before. Though it differed from now, not like how it was back then, still it rang that familiar melody.
"Ry." she remarked as she saw him and smiled all the more. "I'd be honored to help set you at ease, Rycaron." she chuckled a bit as she nodded towards the shores of the water in the pool. "I didnt know you were even around anymore." she remarked. In all honesty the two close friends departed, their friendship in a way ahd meant their end. One destined for a world outside of Aquore while the other bound here in chains. "Feel free to remain as you are, or shift over." she remarked as he could lay down in the banks of the pool either in his equine form, or hippocampus form. Corrine of course was always in her hippocampus form, allowing little to none to know about her.
Corrine moved down into the water, allowing there to be plenty of room for Ry if he needed it. Corrine felt a bit flustered to see him, she wasn't expecting it, and assumed he was still out in the world. A part of her envious, but a part of her was thankful to be able to do more with her life. Nose flickered a bit, her new septum piercing was still a bit sore, but the cool stone brought her anxiety some comfort.

"I have recently returned from Aodh, and since the trip was quite...stressful...I decided it would be a grand idea to swim down here to relax for a few days," the chestnut stallion replied, stepping forward into the indicated waters. Regret stirred in chest, knowing that he really should have written to Corrine while he'd been away. Or even upon arrival back in Inaria. Just because they had drifted apart due to career paths, it didn't mean he should have let their link fall so completely apart...yet he had. Then again, so had she.
The hippocampus stifled a sigh, instead pulling a smile onto muzzle. "I am glad that I did, now," he murmured, stretching out his frame once he lowered into the water, shifting shapes easily beside the cleric in training. He knew she would appreciate, and he had spent most of his time with her before in this form as well. She'd always said that she felt more free in her hippocampus form, that it was more natural, for they were made in Cascade's image. Of course he couldn't disagree, but it also meant he'd never been able to convince her to come to the mainland to see the Solstice Sacrifices, or anything else for that matter.
Aqua eyes refocused as something new caught his attention, bringing him back to the present and allowing him to push the bittersweet memories back where they belonged. "That is new, it looks nice on you," Rycaron remarked, tone light. "How have things been for you?" He was genuinely curious, eager to take the moment to reconnect slightly, feeling only the slightest bit awkward, a bit uncomfortable. But none of it showed, he wouldn't let it. Tension headache and stuff muscles he made obvious, but feelings such as those, oh no, they would remain buried. Post#2 WC//305

Corrine Healer of Talori
Perhaps when she first saw him, she assumed things would flow so easily as to how it used to be for them, yet time had taken its wedge between them, and it's something they would never get back. Eyes watched him as he moved to the water and easily switched into his hippocampus form. It was all so familiar, but not quite the same. All the time apart has changed them. Sure Ry looked pretty much the same, more mature, had this air of elegance about him. Yet, he was a stranger in a way. In a way she no longer knew what his favorite color was, what he did when he was down in the dumps. For a moment her heart ached, ached fro the longing of their friendship. How could they let it die so easily, but she was as easily to blame as him. But mostly her, she thought. With her, there was her and the sea, nothing more. She couldnt hardly handle travels, even in her makeshift cart.
Words of his came to her like waves to the shore on a midsummer day. So calm and relaxed. Yet even though she hardly knew him in a way, still her smile grew on her lips, allowing her to relax a bit more, though still saddened by the distance between them, she couldn't help but smile. It was Ry. "Well glad to see you are back in Aquore." she remarked gently as lifted a bottle with ease eyeing it a bit. "Perfect." she remarked gently to herself. She had a tendency to do that . "This should help relax your muscles as well as the mind. Surely it must be hard what you do," she remarked offering him a light smile.
Though his words caught her off guard. Her nose ring, it made her chuckle. "Ah well yes, its part of my my healing studies. A bit silly yes, its been rumored this stone can be used as a way of protection, some even say, it can sense the sick. Given to the sick it can retract its color. I wear it hopes to see what it can do. If it leads any help. Silly I know." she remarked feeling the heat on her cheeks grow. In a way it was silly, but her main reason was to see if would get sick and fall ill, could this stone save her life? She had hoped and prayed so. "I've been well though. Ive been working hard as a Cleric, and." she paused a for a moment, at a time, she would tell Ry everything. Would that be the same now? Or was there a reason to keep things locked in tight? A sift sigh escaped her lips, perhaps the best way to give friendship another try is a little secret to tie them together. "I've been looking into buying a springs area, for my healing." she whispered to him. Before taking the bottle she was holding and pouring a bit on his back. Letting the sweet smell of fresh cut grass fill the air. First the scent to help relax for working with someone that refuses to relax was the worst and could do more damage than good. "Is it alright to begin?" she remarked tilting her head a bit, before eyeing him a bit. "Tell me about Aodh was it more then you expected?" she asked curiously, let his voice fill the ever growing silence she feared would take hold.

The corner of the stallion's lips quirked as he heard Corrine murmur to herself, a habit she didn't seem to have lost in the intervening years he'd been gone. Good to know some things were still the same after the passage of time. When she turned her attention back to him from the bottom, he looked at the contents, before gaze shifted back to curl ringed face. "It can be, if you are trying not to incite a diplomatic incident by saying the wrong thing. Otherwise it is simply intriguing and there is always something more to learn," the emissary replied, tone turning thoughtful, and while his body revealed the stress he had been under, his tone held none of it, but rather a fondness that might at first seem to be at odds.
"It may sound a bit silly, but also fascinating. Stories like that about healing have always interested me," Rycaron remarked. He remembered his mother telling him such things when he was younger, to impress him or tease him. He wouldn't have put near as much stock into such a thing as Corrine did, but it was one of her charms. She looked for the magic in things, and was willing to try and believe. She had vast amounts of faith.
"A spring for healing?" the stallion echoed, tilting his head as he took in this information. He fell silent a moment, taking a deep breath of the scent of fresh cut grass, and sighing with pleasure. Sure, there was nothing that could replace a refreshing sea breeze that woke you up and made you feel alive, but this scent was quite nice as well. It was so.../green/. At her inquiry, the goldfish hippocampus nodded his head absently, in an 'of course' sort of manner, ears twitching at her next curious question, before remembering he hadn't responded to her mention of the spring.
"I think that is a wonderful idea. If you are serious about pursuing the cleric path and helping people, I think it is a wonderful dream and spot to help people," he mused. "A much better goal than a lot of what I saw in Aodh. It was so much more than I expected it to be. I knew that it would be a land of wealth and hedonistic equines, but it was more so than I thought. There were some good souls there, but they do not seem to care about each other like Talorians do," Rycaron informed his childhood friend, tone soft and meant more for her ears only, than for everyone in the vicinity to gossip about. Corrine Cleric of Talori
Ears remained alert as she listened to him speak of Aodh, and his work. It was interesting and clearly looking at his form, he was indeed under stress and pressure, but who was she to blame him for such things. Surely it would be difficult to try and keep peace with a heathen like place. She had heard of what others had experienced and while she tried to keep an open mind of such things, she had heard more bad then good. A faint chuckle escaped her lips as she continued on listening to him speak, she picked up her work and soon used some wooden like tools to work out on his back to remove the knots in his muscle and try to get him more relaxed. "Indeed it must be difficult, but you are still here, so it seems you are doing well." she teased him a bit and shook head head some and she remained focused on his body and her work
Her cheeks grew warm as he spoke about her pursuing her career and love for healing. "I really think I am going to Ry." she remarked with determination. "I've got a few other equines willing to back me, if I manage to get the coin and such. Even have brewers willing to offer me healing potions. Im hoping to change things in the world of healing. Easy access for all." she remarked as she rolled the wooden tool on his form, gently working out everything, while the sweet scents filled the air. Yet she was thankful when he changed the topic to Aodh and what he experienced there. It made her wrinkle her nose and now it seemed her little banter could have been more harmful and she kind of regretted saying it. But she heard his soft voice and the way his words were only meant for her. "Im sorry to hear that Ry, but I give thanks that you have found a few good souls. At least you have others to build you up instead of tear you down." she whispered back to him sympathetically.
"Well if you ever want to unwind from it all, come and find me, maybe the next time you are down here, I'll be having my own shop you know?" she chuckled a but trying to change the topic so many would not be suspicious of their whispering. Eyes looked at his form once more, he was always well toned even as a child, it made her aware of her own thick build and crippledness. A pang of guilt rising in her throat as she never told him.. They had drifted apart and even know they could speak as if it was like the old times, but was it really? No, sadly no. Corrine no longer new this stallion and after so many years apart, she no longer knew what he liked, what he hoped for in the future, or even if he still enjoyed those same things as a child. It saddened her a bit, how could the close friends drift so far apart?

A faint groan barely emanated from the stallion's throat when Corrine began working with the wooden tools, and found a particularly tense and sore spot upon his back. It was a good type of pain, but one he hadn't been expecting, and he was slightly embarrassed by his reaction. He released a deep breath to keep from making another similar sound, feeling the muscles she was concentrating on relaxing and smoothing out under her apparently expert touch. Truly, she seemed meant to be a cleric.
"If anyone can make that dream happen, you can Corrine. Especially since you have already made connections," Rycaron murmured after a moment, not entirely sure what to say after that. What could he say? The topic change came as a welcome relief, lips curved slightly as he heard her chuckle. "I most certainly will, and I will be looking for that shop," the emissary replied, realizing after he'd finished speaking that he was doing so so formally. In the past, he hadn't used his current standard of speech, when everything was so precise and he didn't use contractions. He wasn't ever so formal with her before. Why had that changed? It was a bit of a shock to realize he hadn't slipped back to how they used to be, that even though the was more informal with her, he hadn't lowered his more diplomatic speech mannerisms. It only served to make his heart twinge with sadness, and stubbornly decide that he needed to keep in better contact with the pale mare beside him. Post#4 WC//258

Corrine
The Cleric was thankful Ry could not see her face, as he mentioned if anyone could achieve their dreams she surely could. It made her cheeks blush with a soft pink hue, and she couldn't help, but smile. It was nice to talk, even if was not like before. Still it was nice, was it not. "I look forward to that, I'd be willing to offer you a special discount, a trade for some stories of life outside of here, more of the good ones though." she chuckled a bit. She was good with conversations. A blessing with her job, as it was to get others to relax and calm down if she could hold a conversation. But it didnt mean sometimes she failed with words, grasped at thin air to keep the conversation alive, to keep it going. Corrine continued to work on his body, noting how much they both have grown and gotten older. They weren't foals like they once had been. So much has changed.
Corrine shook her head a bit, no don't do this. Not now not in front of him. She thought miserably to herself. Suffering from depression and self hatred, can turn her into a sour beast like no other. A quick nip on the inside of her cheek, brought her back to reality, come on now, get it together, and so she did. Corrine sighed gently, as she wanted so desperately not let her childhood friend slip from her once more, but she could see their time together here was running so thin, it was running its course and she feared even with words this would be the last, at least the last for a long while. What was she to do? Gulping, she calmed her nerves as she began finishing up her work. "You think perhaps we could keep in touch? Penpals to say?" Corrine continued to work, hoping her hooves did not shake to much to draw attention as her nerves started to race and match the ever beating heart of hers. Was this a foolish thing to laugh, would it all end with a laugh and words of maybe are the only thing she could hold on to?

"That sounds like quite the deal. I will have to stockpile stories then," the young stallion replied easily, a true smile curving lips and easily seen. Truly, he felt much more relaxed now, an ode to both Corrine's physical ministrations and her conversational skills. It was not the same as it once was...but it was good, halfway familiar. Something he didn't realize he had needed when he came back, until now when he had it. Would he lose it again? It wasn't inevitable, was it?
Mood had turned slightly broody at the depressing thought, though Rycaron did his best to keep it to himself. Ears swiveled when the mare's sweet voice reached him once more, head tilting gently and aqua eyes turning thoughtful. "Pen pals? I think that is a wonderful idea, Corrine!" Voice was infused with a warmth and excitement he usually did well to hide, though nothing about him was over exuberant. While pondering this idea, he took no notice of the faint tremor of her hooves, distracted. "I admit I was loath to think of losing all contact with you again, after finding you here," he admitted, glancing at his companion before taking note that several of the other clerics who had arrived with Corrine were regrouping, apparently done with their tasks. So she would be leaving soon as well. It saddened him, for really he wasn't sure when or if he'd see her again. Would the have a better chance to catch up later? Be less of strangers to each other? Only time would tell...but at least, perhaps, they could keep some connection across the space.

Corrine
Was she holding her breath, she didnt realize, until she let out a sigh as Ry seemed to agree with being penpals. Her chest relaxed some, and her heart seemed to slow its beat, she didnt realize how nervous she had been waiting for that answer until she exhaled that still breath. "Oh good, I'd love to stay more in touch this time around. I mean I dont mind catching up like this, but I feel we are missing out on quite a bit of tales." she mused gently. Though she carried a deep secret within herself, unable to tell Ry about her condition, but it was best not to ruin a good moment like this right? "If you get too stressed out there, let me know I can send you a little bottle of liquid that you can put in water to help you relax. Kind of what I had here." she laughed a bit. It was a different kind of therapy for the body, that seemed to ht the senses. Corrine was determind to make something for herself and clearly it meant thinking far out of the box then others could. or at least she hoped.
Soon it came to an end, and Corrine found herself thinking this was a bitter sweet moment, they could promise each other the moon and stars, but words were easy to come by. Action always took a little more effort. "Well..." she felt a bit awkward, goodbyes weren't the easiest for her. "Well until we meet again, but until then we at least have letters. Im glad to have seen you today Rycaron. It was truly a delight." she offered him a bright smile. As she meant every word of it, no matter if things still felt a bit different a bit odd between them.

"Many tales that were forgotten or overlooked in the passage of time. The mind does funny things like that," the emissary murmured in agreement. Perhaps the letters might not be very frequent while he was across the sea, but he could jot down things and give them to her to read when he returned. Or just look them over to jog his memory..if she'd even like such a thing. It sounded like she would, and they used to be able to talk for hours sometimes when they were younger.
At the mention of being able to acquire a bottle of her potion later, his fins perked up a little straighter, surprise and pleasure appearing on features. "That would be lovely, actually, And if you sent a spare, I could always see about selling it for you. I can think of at least one person I think would appreciate a relaxer like the one you used for me just now," Rycaron remarked, tilting his head slightly. He would most certainly want to use this scent relaxer later, and he bet he could get Thaumas to enjoy it too. His stoic friend needed the reminder to enjoy himself once in a while, that not everything was duty.
Aqua gaze softened as the young stallion shifted about so that he was facing his childhood companion once more. "Yes...it was definitely a pleasure to see you again, the Wave Mother graced me today, that I got to meet with you again." Her smile was met with an equally bright one, nothing fake or diplomatic about it, only genuine affection. "We will meet again, Corrine," Rycaron promised, dipping his head in farewell as he watched her return to her mentor. He couldn't promise her anything specific for fear of being unable to keep his word, but he knew in his heart he would at least see her again, if not the when. He'd make sure that happened.
With a deep sigh, the golden stallion watched the class leave, sinking further into the water, until only his dorsal fins broke the surface, eyes sliding half closed. Truly, he was now quite relaxed and content.
