While out scouting for herbs and other resources, your group is set upon by angry vagabonds, who have lost friends and family to Aodh slavery which Serora now supports. As your group struggles to repel the attack, do you try to capture the vagabonds (as dictated by trade agreement with Aodh) or do you try to bargain your own lives for theirs, and let them go free? Aragon Fleet Foot
The Sedo was a deadly combination. It was both beautiful with its deep canyons that scared the land and colorful oasis' hidden from the barren sands. Yet it was deadly with the harsh sun that heated the desert to the highest temperature across the Hiearth and the various wildlife that had adapted and became perfect killers hidden in the sands. Growing herbs is an art form that to often fails to support the whole herd. But there is hope, herbs are as untamable as the spirit of the Serora herd. They grow in various places, it just takes the right kind of patience to find these scattered greens. The temperature was still cool out, a perfect time to start an adventure. The radiant sun was peaking out over the cold landscape, breathing life back into the golden sands of Sedo. The sun coaxed even the tiniest of animals out of their homes to start the day. Aragon stood watching the beauty unfold ever so slowly as the sun scaled across the sky, pushing away the dark blue of night then replacing it with cheerful colors of oranges, pale pinks, and small brushes of pastel purples. She had been here for some time now, watching everything to keep her mind and soul at ease. This morning she said good bye to her cave and her little plants, "I'll be back eventually, my darlings!" She said putting her muzzle as close as she dared to her forget-me-nots she loved so dearly. The only things she brought was her pair of goggles to protect her eyes from the glare of the sun and the desert sand. Then a saddle bag with a small container of water and a little food, just in case of emergency. Today she would lead her own mission. Hand selected by the Sultan Osprey himself, Aragon had been shocked. When he did she asked why, "Sir, I'm only 20, wouldn't you rather have someone more.. Capable? Or better suited to the task?" She asked nervously as the weight of the responsibility of taking care of her herd pushed on her withers. But Osprey told her he knew she was ready for the task. Aragon swore to him she would not let this honor slip through her hooves, she was going to make everyone proud! As she returned to her cave she thought of the last mission she had been apart of that her friend Jack had lead. They had returned victorious with bundles of herbs but not without scars to prove their bravery. The Arabian closed her eyes for a moment taking in a deep calming breath, basking in the sun's fiery rays before opening her eyes and exhaling all her worries. Her ear swiveled first, catching the sound of hoofbeats behind her. "Give me strength." She prayed breathlessly to no God in particular before turning to face her comrades on this adventure. She looked at each of their faces before smiling at them. "Thank you all for coming so early in the day, I felt it was best to move out before the sun climbed to high." She said. "I promise to all of you I will keep you as safe as I can and make the best choices I can. Let's move out!” She said and started walking first leading the horses out of the safety of Osulas. Checkpoint 1// Serora has always been a busy herd, but with the looming threat of starvation, you seem to always be going. With resources once more running low, you’ve set out across northern Sedo in hopes of finding new herbs and perhaps a bit of food.

Ryder | Serora | Medicine-Horse
Serorans were known for their relentlessness. They were constantly either working on farming for crops or herbs to feed their families, or they were facing the heat of the sun on their backs. It was not an easy place to live, but it was rewarding. As a Medicine-Horse, Ryder tended to his own herbs that he grew in his home to keep them out of the sun's harmful rays, and he was able to see them flourish under his care. It was hard work, most of the time, trying to keep plants alive in Sedo, but they were a necessity, and in these tough times, they were a rare commodity. Resources had been running low across Sedo, and starvation loomed over them like a dark storm on the horizon. Ryder could feel the threat himself as his son's safety and well-being came first before anything else even if it meant Ryder went without a meal or two.
It was that time again for the Sultan to take action, and Ryder had been selected to be apart of a group that would venture out in search of the herbs and food that their herd desperately needed. The hippocampus packed his bag, putting as little as he could to keep room for whatever they could bring back with them if they found anything. A canteen of water, what little food he could bring, and a few herbs from his garden that might come in handy on their journey was all he deemed worthy to make the trip. He made arrangements for his son, Leif, to stay with a close friend that could watch over him during his absence before the morning that they were supposed to head out. Of course the adventurous colt protested staying behind, but he knew that this was an important and possible dangerous mission and one that he was not needed for. "I'll stay here, Papa. Say hi to Aragon and Ra for me!" Leif had said as Ryder placed a quick kiss on his son's head. "I will, and I'll be back before you know it. I promise."
The sun was just beginning to peak over the horizon as Ryder arrived at the spot that their group leader had chosen to meet at in Osulas. He cast the roan leader a friendly smile as he came to a stop beside Ra. Aragon had grown so much since he had first met her, and he was so proud of how far she had come. It was wonderful to see that the Sultan knew that she was as capable of this position as he did. Even though she was young, he knew that she was more than capable of handling the position given to her and could anything that she set her mind to. He could tell that she was a bit jittery as she spoke to them, but he gave her a reassuring nod before setting out toward their destination in the northern parts of Sedo. 'Please, let us find something, anything to help.' Ryder quickly prayed, hoping that at least one of the gods would hear his prayer.

She didn't have anyone to mumble a goodbye to as she packed her bags to prepare for the little expedition her dear Sultan had decided to send her upon. She was left slightly confused when he had given her the task of traveling with others in order to find the much need herbs and other resources their herd would need to survive. She stared with her mouth agape before letting her jaw close and a stern expression wash over her sun-kissed skin. She would take this job with great pride, and would not even begin to think of the possibilities of letting down her beloved Sultan. Packing what little belongings she deemed necessary to take along with her on this dire trip; which was left down to a canteen of water, a few herbs with healing properties and bandages just in case anyone was harmed, and a few of her favorite treats to snack on.
Letting er hooves carry her out of her cave home, a smile fell upon her lips as she found comfort with the gentle breeze that was drifting over the Osculas. She said a slight prayer, Sky-Mother, please allow us to reach our destination safely. I know you have your herds' fate under control, but please allow us to take what we need from your land. May your winds guide us. Short and sweet. A quick little prayer to assure their god that they only had the best intentions in mind on their trek to pluck the much-needed herbs from her land. After her small prayer, a sense of relief washed over her as she allowed herself to walk merrily over towards the meeting point. When her amber eyes laid upon the features of the unicorn mare that was leading them, she felt a smile tug on her lips as she called out in greeting towards the leader of the group. Pausing a few feet before the mare, she tried to give the jittery mare some space.
Noticing the familiar painted coat of her hippocampus friend, a wave of relief was sent over her body as she gave the stallion a warm smile, it was nice to know that she would know someone on this little trip. Turning to focus on the words that left Aragon's mouth, the mare let her face fall seriously as she let her hooves carry her in the direction that the unicorn was guiding them in. Closing her eyes for a brief second, she let another quick prayer rush through her mind as the slight breeze picked up her locks of cream hair. Please, let all of us reach our destination safely. The mare didn't know how prepared she'd be if someone was to be wounded on their mission.

Khazada-Fleet Foot Knowing she’d be setting out that morning with a few of her fellow herd mates in search of what resources they could find, Khazada was up before dawn as the dun mare had more then a few things on her mind. Never did she remember such a time as this where she felt own moral code so tossed aside. It was no secret her own sire had been one of the Vagabonds and such knowledge had always caused Khazada to respect those horses. But seeing as now her herd was no longer a safe haven for but instead no better then the other herds, Khazada couldn’t help but think that such a trade wasn’t worth her herds survival. Not at the cost to the other horses who had chosen the same path as her sire did. Though as her mind finally returned to the present, Khazada gave a quite breath as she knew she needed to get moving if she was to to meet the other before they’d head out of Osulas to the desert beyond. With luck they’d find what they came looking for and she only prayed they could but this all behind them and regain what morality her herd lost, at least in her eyes. If not, it may be time for Khazada to reconsider where she truly belonged. With a quick shake of her head and one last glance back at her mother’s dwelling that she too called home, Khazada adjusted her saddlebags before forcing her hooves forward as not to be running behind. The mixed mare’s ears swerved forward upon catching sight of the group forming before the dun mare felt her gaze sweep over the group she’d be accompanying. Many she had seen around the herd but the mare failed to greet most, well other then now. Ryder was the only familiar face from her last trip out into the desert but alas she failed to speak much to the hippocampus stallion on that trip. As the party began to head out, Khazada found herself once more falling to the back of the group, a quite snort leaving her muzzle as she cast a quick look towards the sky. Normally her habit would to be muttering some sort of quick prayer to the herds patron goddess but after the months she let such a thought drift away as in her mind, she was doubting that Alya nor Cascade would listen to such a fleeting thing as so far she saw no sign that would make her believe otherwise. Lulu | Apprentice
It didn't happen often that Lulu woke before her parents. Not that they were a dedicated pair, or prone to rising early, but Lulu just liked sleeping. A lot. Today that wouldn't be the case, though. Walt had knocked against her bed - a stone slab with some pillows - with an insistent hoof and she'd startled awake, immediately groaning when she realized why he was waking her. She'd been asked to go on an expedition. Well, asked was a big word. Her mentor and her parents had agreed with Walt that it would do her good to go out on one of their forage runs. Character growth, Walt had called it. And so here she was, head hung low as she slowly made her way to the gathering of equines Walt had pointed her towards. These were going to be her companions. Just looking at them made her skin itch.
It wasn't that she disliked them, really. They seemed like a fair bunch and some of them even had wings - she loved pegasi! - but they'd be going into the desert. It'd involve hot, long days and carrying back supplies if they even found them. The empty bags strapped to her back felt heavy enough without herbs and other nonsense in them, thanks!
She grumbled to herself as she stopped near the other horses, glancing up curiously. Some of them she'd never really met before, so this would be an interesting event. Maybe they'd agree this wasn't for her and let her go back home. She'd have to listen to the older, more sensible members of her herd, right?
"You guys look very capable. I'm sure you don't need me, right?"
She threw a hopeful look Aragon's way. The mare was one of the few she knew the name of. Mostly because she had spots and interesting hair and Lulu liked looking at her. And that braid made her jealous.
The sun was only just beginning to crest the horizon, so Lulu didn't feel too bothered yet, but she already wanted to turn around. This would be good for her, though. She'd come out of this feeling accomplished and with a bit of luck she'd be heralded a hero of some sort. She liked the idea of being a hero.
"I'm Lulu, by the way!" she crowed at the others. She'd have to make this worth her time. Maybe making friends would be just the thing.

Atticus | Fleetfoot
The dawn came early that day, the bite of the sun awakening the stallion. He rolled out of his blanket nest and shook himself with a snort. Atticus was on a mission today, chosen with a few others to go in search of herbs that were desperately needed. He didn't know the others, except for their names. He groaned to himself as he leaned back and allowed his face to rest on his floor. What had he gotten himself into? Don't get him wrong, he loved helping his herd and all its just he didn't exactly play nice with others. At all. Quite frankly most of his herd-mates that knew him ran when they saw him, his pranks being very well known. He shook his head again as he straightened up. Today was not about pranks, and even he knew that. He sighed to himself as he left his cave, knowing he had a job to do. Only a second later he let out a gasp as he quickly turned on his heel and bolted back in; throwing his bags over his fin before exiting again.
It did not take the small stallion long to reach the meeting point. His breeding allowing for him to make the trip with ease. He took a second to ponder if that was why he was chosen, hardiness was common amongst his herd but far and few had the build to keep going for days without food or water. He inspected the others carefully upon arriving. Aragon, the leader of the group, was a fellow fleet foot and he had heard good words of the arabian mare. Ryder was another fleet foot he had spoken with once or twice, he was kind and strong; also a fellow hippocampus which the stallion enjoyed, mostly because he had a much softer look to his water-self than Atticus himself had. He recognized a buckskin paint, but couldn't remember her name or the other three mares names. Although names didn't matter when Aragon spoke, a savage truth coming to light. On this mission no one was guaranteed safety, and the facts were that this could end up bad. He kept his face neutral, nodding with agreement and acknowledgment that the young mare would try her best. That is until Lulu bubbly introduced herself. He raised his brow wondering how one could be so chipper in the morning. He decided it would be best just to give Lulu a nod, not wanting to be as chipper as she. "I'm Atticus." He said quietly praying to Alya he wouldn't be an extremely social butterfly today, the did have a mission after all.

Ryder | Serora | Medicine-Horse
Ryder looked around at the gathered horses that would be making this treacherous quest in search of much needed supplies. He knew at least three of them by name: Aragon, Khadaza, and Ra, but the remaining few, he had probably only seen once or twice during his trips to Osulas. At least this would give them all a chance to be more connected with one another. After all, it would be a very long trip if no one spoke the entire way, and while he wasn’t much of a talker, he didn’t mind making a few new acquaintances, as long as they were completing this mission of course.
The hippocampus was snapped from his thoughts as a younger member of their group spoke up. Her voice was upbeat and hopeful as she looked toward their group leader for any sign that she could be dismissed from this little trip, and Ryder had to suppress a little chuckle. Oh how he knew that game. His son played it well every time Ryder told him to do something that he didn’t want to do. The older stallion offered her a friendly, lopsided grin as he spoke, “Well, Lulu, we’re going to need everyone that we can get on this mission, and the Sultan chose you specifically to join us.” He told her, shrugging his shoulders innocently as if they couldn’t help if she wanted to go home. “And we’d love to have you stay and help.”
As they set out, everyone started introducing themselves to each other, and Ryder nodded his head along with each name, trying his hardest to absorb them. The gods had definitely not gifted him with the gift of remembering names very easily. “I’m Ryder. It’s nice to meet you all.” He spoke, giving them a small nod of his head in greeting.

The painted mare let her ears flick in thought as she tried her best to remember each name that was spoken and tried to engrain it into her memory of what face went with what name.
Ryder, she had met him before, the painted stallion had come to her rescue one day after. He was a rather friendly soul and she found herself grateful for the fact that he was tagging along on this trip Mostly for the fact that he was a familiar face that she could trust, and slightly because if a break down hit, she knew he would be calm during the situation and ultimately calm her nerves. Lulu was but an apprentice, almost a few years away from leaving her rank and becoming gatherer herself. Ra felt her lips turn up into a gentle smile as she listened to the tobiano mare speak on how they might not need her on this trip. Letting a gentle laugh fall from her lips, she followed after Ryder, "I think you will do just fine. The Sultan doesn't just pick anyone for these kinds of task," She said warmly, letting her smile grow bigger as she darted her eyes over to the next face she would study.
Atticus, someone she had seen before in the land of Sedo, and it were hard to forget his appearance. He was a hippocampus, a species that wasn't quite native to these areas. The fin that rested high up on his back was the only indication of who he was to the mare, and it was stored in the back of her mind - a simple distinctive trait that would be useful if she ever needed to find him. Khazada was someone she had no prior knowledge of, but Ra was determined to make it a mission to get acquainted with everyone before the day was over. All she knew about the sabino mare was that she was a Fleet Feet just like their leader Aragon.
After studying all of the faces who had approached the meeting point, Ra gave them all a warm smile before introducing herself, "My name is Ra, it's very nice to meet you all." She said, rather cheerful given how down and out she normally was. On top of wanting to get to know everyone better, Ra made it a point to make sure no one saw her mental issues - it wouldn't be very fair if she scared them off within the first few hours.

While the thought of looking for green color in a orange and yellow dessert sounder easy it was not. The sun played tricks on both one's eyes and mind. Ari had pulled her goggles down over her eyes to protect them from the Sun's rays that reflected back at her in the sands. Her lavender eyes scanning everywhere, occasionally moving her head to get a better view. The petite Arabian was also keeping pace of the group, choosing an easy trot. She saw no point in them hurrying, plus she was renouned for having bundles of energy that could be hard for some to keep up with.. Or keep a handle on. She transformed her nervous energy into something more helpful and picked up her hooves. She started to put a spring in her step. The trot becoming more 'floaty' as she moved her nimble hooves over the soft sand. Feeling a soft gust of wind caress her mane with invisible fingers a smile graced her lips. Wind was always a good sign for herself. As she trotted she thought of the others in her group, she knew Ryder very well and was glad to have him with her to look to incase of trouble. Ra was one she hadn't had the chance to encounter but seemed nice. Khazada was another fleet foot she had seen often but hadn't had the chance to talk to. Lulu seemed young but stubborn too, like she wouldn't back down from a fight, though seemed a bit lazy. As she asked if she had to come along Aragon's eyebrows knit in confusion "your help would be very beneficial to the whole herd, you could be a hero for others" She said trying to put the need of all the horses into words. She knew Atticus as one of her fellow felt footers, and had heard of how he could be mischievous. Then Verses the Pegasus seemed nice and pleasant to be around too. "Oh, I never properly introduced myself!" Aragon said as Lulu and Atticus introduced themselves "I'm Aragon." She said with a cheerful smile. Looking back at them then let her eyes drifted foreword.

Flicking her ears forward towards the introductions that were made, Khazada tried to place each name with that equine face of her herdmates. With luck she'd remember them all, or at least close enough. Though as the dun mixed mare gave a quite snort, it seemed it was only fitting she introduced herself. However just as she seemed to ponder that thought her attention snapped to Lulu who seemed eager to get out of this trip. Such a trip couldn't be that bad as at least they were only searching for herbs and other resources for their herd. But on the other hoof, Khazada held no judgement towards the other mare but instead let another snort leave her muzzle just as she heard Ryder and Aragorn's own thoughts on the apprentice's comment. Good enough answers in their own right and so Khazada decided to leave it as it was.
Putting her attention ahead once more, the mixed mare couldn't help but give yet another look at her companions, seeming to work on that whole memorizing thing once more. There were other fleet feet such as herself, a comfort to Khazada but she was almost more then sure that they would not be facing any sort of danger on such a trip. Or at least that was what the dun mare was hoping for. "Khazada is my name, if there are to be introductions." The mixed draft finally spoke up as she lifted her head some, though Khazada seemed more keen to keep her gaze ahead as to make direct eye contact with the others. A trait she was kicking herself for as it seemed to be one thing she never could get over when meeting others.

Lulu | Apprentice
It didn't look like anyone was going to let her go home. Which was a shame, but on the other hoof she could come back a hero and that was a nice thought. She had no idea she'd manage, even with the heat and the dust and the endless walking. Maybe she'd develop more muscles and improve her look. There were so many positives to it all, really!
"Hello, Atticus!" she chirped cheerfully.
He looked odd, she thought. She'd seen him around, of course, but he'd never interested her enough to really be worth a look. She tilted her head as she took him in, though. He was a curious equine. Handsome, sure, but that fin on his back would take some getting used to. It made her wonder what he'd look like when in his full hippocampus shape. Would he be beautiful? Would his colours change? She really wanted to know, but she doubted she ever would. Didn't it require water?
"Don't you dry out?" she asked him. "Don't you have a problem with your backfin getting sunburned? My muzzle burns something fierce and that's just a small bit of skin!"
“Well, Lulu, we’re going to need everyone that we can get on this mission, and the Sultan chose you specifically to join us. And we’d love to have you stay and help.”
"Thanks, I guess," Lulu murmured. She wasn't sure she'd be very helpful, but at least she'd try her best. And who knew what they'd find? Maybe they'd find jewels, or strange, new familiars. She wanted a familiar so bad, this would be worth it.
It was a nice thought to think the Sultan chose her, though. Not that she'd ever met the Sultan. She wish she had. It would have been a special occurrence, for sure. It made her wonder how the decision had been made. Had it been influenced by her parents? Had it been dumb luck? A curious situation.
"Nice to meet you, Ryder." She smiled at him. "You're a hippocampus too! Will our quest involve water, or something? I haven't been able to take a real bath in ages!"
A painted mare, much like her, spoke next and she was just as friendly as the others. They were all so nice. It made her feel a bit better. She'd fit right in. She was nice, after all.
"You're all so pleasant!" She continued smiling, then turned to Aragon. "And I'm definitely going to be a hero. That sounds like just the thing for me!"
With every new member, Lulu felt a bit more uneasy. Not because she didn't like other equines, or because they looked mean, but she had trouble remembering things when it didn't involve her and there were so many strangers here!
"Nice to meet you, Khazada! You look so pretty!"
She glanced at the horizon. Had the sun risen much already? Would they be in time to finish their quest?
"Should we go? Or are we cancelling today and trying again tomorrow?"

Atticus | FleetFoot
Atticus thoughts raced as he kept up with the group's introductions to one another. Smiling gently as Lulu greeted him in turn. That was until he felt as if he himself was under a microscope. She studied him, tilting her head as she did. He figured he would be insulted for being a hippocampus as they were not that common in Sedo instead it seemed as though a game of 20 questions had begun. Did he dry out? Before he could even begin to answer Lulu she fired the second question; did his backfin burn? The stallion stopped to puzzle the question, brow creasing as he realized he had no memory of such an occurrence. "It doesn't burn, I don't believe it is what one would call "normal" skin.. It is more like a thick leather. But I do technically "dry out" as one might say. After I go swimming and my body dries my shape shifts. All those all the questions you have Lulu?" He asked slowly, hopping the answer might be yes as he studied the young mare.
But the young mare was on a roll, reply to all the others who said she was indeed needed on their quest. Although the mention of water brought some energy to the stallion himself, he loved swimming, and it was one of the things he was very good at. He smiled, hopping for the sight of the river now. "Lulu's right, are we moving out or not?" He said smiling, with a soft prayer to Alya he waited for a reply.

The medicine horse laughed at the over-excited apprentice. It brought a slight smile to her face as her lips twisted up into a gentle smile. Oh, Lulu definitely seemed so full of life, and Ra couldn't help but giggle as she quizzed the hippocampi about the way their bodies reacted to the desert environment. But, Ra couldn't help but understand where the mare was coming from, after all when she first meet Ryder - even during her state of panic - she was fascinated on how a hippocampus lived within the driest out of all of the herds. In the back of her mind she appreciated having someone so lively and bubbly sent on this mission with them, she found herself praying to Alya that it might liven the mood of the group as the traveled through the sands in search for the much-needed resources their herd lived off of.
Ra found herself glancing up towards the sky as Lulu and Atticus commented on how if they were going to continue with their mission, and with the sun rising high in the sky she felt her ears swivel back against her neck in thought. Working in the heat was the most desirable thing, and she could already feel her coat get sticky with sweat as she smacked her lips together. But these resources were a necessity and Ra figured that Aragon would press them on towards their destention; no matter how hot it got. So with a quick peek in the bags draped across her back, she counted how many canteens of water she had managed to bring and prayed that it would be enough to last her and her companions if needed.

Ryder | Serora | Medicine-Horse
Ryder couldn’t help but chuckle at the young mare, Lulu’s excited questions and was reminded of his own son and how energetic he was. It was certainly a nice energy to have around during all of this serious business, and it was also a nice reminder of why he was out here looking for food and herbs for his herd as well: to see that his son, Leif, and everyone else made it through tough times like these. His eyes glanced over to the fellow hippocampus, Atticus, to listen to his quizzical response as if he hadn’t really thought about if his fins had been sun-burnt before, and when Ryder thought about it, he wasn’t sure if his had either or not. His spotted fins rose and fell while he thought but quickly gave up as Atticus continued talking about their mysterious ability to shift from their aquatic forms to what they were right then. He supposed if he hadn’t grown up around hippocampuses, he’d find it pretty crazy too.
As Atticus and Lulu played their game of 20 questions, Ryder looked over the rest of the group as they began their journey, spotting Ra checking the canteens in her bag. He checked into his own satchel, counting the filled containers of water. They’d need plenty of water to make it through this scorching hot region, but just then, an idea popped into his head. “If we need any more water while we travel, Water Manipulation is my blessing. I can summon rain-showers, or if we stumble on some underground reservoir, I can pull the water to the surface for us to fill up our canteens.” Ryder offered, casting Ra a small grin. He knew the other Medicine-Horse had probably been worrying about the group’s welfare if they did run out of that precious resource.

Aragon smiled as she listened to their conversations and all of Lulu's questions. Even she found a few of them intriguing and wanted to know the answer. 'I'll have to bug Ryder about those later.' The roan mare thought as she trotted along. Hearing Ryder's idea her mood lightened. "Oh I totally forgot!" Aragon said. "that will definitely be helpful later!" It was always good to have a back up plan for water in the desert, especially where the group was headed.
Hearing the others ask if they would begin to move out she bit her lip for a moment in thought. She wanted to keep the group at a steady pace just in case but seeing how eager everyone was she pondered. Finally Aragon determined that if everyone was this excited they might as well harness the energy and use it to move them along faster, and hopefully find those herbs faster and get home faster. "Alright, but if anyone starts to fall behind we will slow down to recover." Ari didn't plan on running till the sun went down but a quick gallop to cover ground faster couldn't hurt right? Picking up her hooves she stretched her legs out into a fast paced canter. She grinned like a fool as she felt her hair whip around and the air brush against her face and rake its invisible fingers though her hair.

Honestly Khazada couldn't help but tilt her head at hearing Lulu's questions directed at Atticus though the dun mare never thought of such things. But Khazada couldn't help but give a small smile at the young mare before her attention snapped to the others hearing Ryder's comment about his blessing. Now that would most likely come in handy, that Khazada was sure as she had only manged to gather what water and supplies she needed for herself in her own saddlebags. And knowing they had some sort of back-up plan seemed to but what unease she felt to rest.
Seeing they were finally headed on their way, Khazada's ears shot forward as Aragorn broke into a canter to lead the group towards their destination. Shifting the weight in her hooves, Khazada flicked an ear at the others, almost expecting them to follow just as well but she might as well get going herself. With a toss of her head, the mixed draft mare sprang forward after the smaller mare who Khazada was more then certain was more graceful then herself. But such a thought didn't seem to dwell more then a moment as she seemed to enjoy this faster pace, being the fleet foot she was. And the faster they found those resources, the better in her mind. "So do you have a certain area that resources are suppose to be...or is it any place at this rate?" Khazada finally asked, as no doubt that question had been lingering on her mind.

Checkpoint 2// Ambush! A group of vengeful Vagabonds have been staking out the area, hoping that the proud herd of Sedo would come calling. They are angry… as they should be, given Serora’s new policy towards Vagabonds. Some even say their family has been taken by your Heavy Hooves. What will you do?

She was patiently listening to everyone as they spoke among themselves. Ra had shot the other medicine horse a quick glance as he spoke about how he'd be cable of keeping their water replenished, and she couldn't help but cock her head to the side in thought; could all hippocampi do this? A soft chuckle slipped past her lips at the thought. She was beginning to sound like the young apprentice who had so cheerfully quizzed the hippocampi on their abilities and lifestyles as water horses.
Everything seemed to be going well among the group as they were slowly making their way towards wherever Aragon was directing them towards. It was such a peaceful sense of security around them that for just a split second Ra had dropped her guard down and was truly enjoying their small expedition out into the wild. That was until she noticed some strange faces making their way towards her and her party. Did they need help? It was the first thought that rushed through her head as a few of her locks were pulled from its braided state, but when she saw the look of hatred locked behind their eyes; she soon realized that this mission wouldn't be as easy as it was made out to be.
Ra felt her legs lock, and all the muscles in her body freeze as she realized who was approaching the small group. Vagabonds. The word rushed through her head with sadness as she felt her heart drop at the thought of all that her herd had done to these creatures. After all her mother was a vagabond, no matter how unfound of her she was, and Ra, herself, was once a vagabond. The thought of how the wanderers were no longer welcomed with opened arms as she once was made her stomach churn as she took a careful step towards the only familiar face in her group. The other medicine horse was her only safe haven among the others, and although she didn't expect much out of protection, being near someone she trusted made her nerves calm down.

As the team picked up speed following the fast paced arabian, Ari pointed an ear to Khazada and listened to what the bigger mare wondered 'So do you have a certain area that resources are suppose to be...or is it any place at this rate?' . Aragon had been expecting a question like this, the red mare had planned out the best trail to take for optimal herb scavenging. "Oh yes, I have a hunch that the herbs will be located close to the area where the river and Gods Landing are closest. It's the perfect place for plant life!" she said happy to answer Khazada's question. As she refocused, looking foreword she noticed a blip on the horizon. She instantly slowed to a trot, her icy eyes narrowed as the horses slowly became more visible. Her red eyebrows knit in confusion and worry then before she knew it the small band of Vagabond were only a few horse lengths away. She stopped the group before looking back to Ryder and Ra before looking back to the vagabond.
They were obviously dehydrated, or at least getting to that point. Their ribs shown and sweat dripped from their brows and bellies. The leader, or what appeared to be the leader, of the group stepped foreword. The big grey unicorn seemed to tower over the group even from far away. Before Aragon took a step to accept this challenge of will she softly spoke for only her groups ears to hear, "remember the new law Aodh has brought to us to follow." The weight or the words would push down onto every horse. The new rule Aodh had set u was for the Serorans to capture all vagabonds and send them up to their cities to be judged from something they might have not even done.
As she stepped foreword the stallion sneered "What now you bird worshiping scum?" His voice snarled and Aragon nearly winced from his words. But she held her head high and met his gaze. "Your heavy hooves have the audacity to come and take the broods then come and back only to take our food." His voice continued to lash. While Aragon was confused she wasn't about to let it show. "The seroran life does not agree or believe in those.. ideas." She said as she continued to stare down the stallion. "But.. I am going to ask you to surrender yourselves." She said. The opposing unicorn and others with him laughed. "Why should I?" He asked "You damn bird worshiping brood- wait, you're not even a brood you're still a filly!" He teased and looked at her with hungry eyes. It seemed nothing else could be done to reason with these Vagabonds. They were already to focused on making the group bleed. "last. Chance." Aragon said attempting to find some control "Surrender.". "Make us." The unicorn said as he picked his hoof up and slammed it to the ground, releasing an earth quake. Aragon looked back to her group, there was a look of sorrow and determination in them. "We must." She said before facing the grey unicorn and his lackeys again. "We will." She said as she summoned a strong wind that nearly pushed the stallion over then allowed the wind to circle around her legs as if she wore mini tornadoes. 'It seems like this mission will be put on hold.' she thought before lunging first.
And then chaos ensued.

Ryder | Serora | Medicine Horse
All was quiet except for the meager chit-chat that was going back and forth between them occasionally. Ryder himself remained silent now that their journey had truly started, but he migrated from the back of the group to walk beside Ra. At least it was comforting to have some familiarity among the group aside from Aragon. He didn't want to disturb her concentration on leading the group. The hippocampus walked a comfortable distance away from the fellow Medicine-horse, his eyes focusing on the horizon.
He had been on a mission similar to this one just months ago. Their herd had been short on resources then, and now they were in the same situation yet again. It was only a reminder of why the other herds thought they were crazy for living in such an arid place, but Ryder knew that Alya or Cascade would bless them one way or another. Maybe the winds would guide them in the direction of herbs, or perhaps a small stream would lead them to an oasis in the dry scrub habitat of north Sedo. Hopefully, they'd be able to find something to hold their herd over until they could grow more crops.
Ryder's ears turned toward Aragon as she spoke of the area that she wished to check for plant life and nodded slowly. It certainly seemed like a logical place for vegetation to grow, and maybe God's Landing would be a blessing to them. His churning thoughts stopped suddenly though when he heard an angry snort break the silence in the air, and Ryder lifted his head to see a group of Vagabonds standing before them. They were tired and dehydrated, obviously not accustomed to this climate like the Serorans were, and they seemed to be very mad about something. His ears twitched at Aragon's words, and he snorted quietly. He hated the new law that had bee passed that all Vagabonds had to be captured and sentenced to trial in Eithne, but the law was the law, and peace between nations came first.
The Medicine-Horse listened while one of the Vagabond stallions spoke, and his brows furrowed together, creating deep creases on his features as anger boiled inside of him. No one spoke to anyone he knew that way, let alone someone he was close to. While Aragon tried to get them to surrender peacefully, Ryder used his gift to slowly open his canteens, allowing the water to seep out.
As madness enveloped the group, Ryder formed tentacle-like masses around him with the water he had in his bag, and he lashed out at a withered stallion that attempted to lunge toward Ra, grabbing the stallion around his ankles and pulling back. The Vagabond landed face-first in the sand with a loud grunt as the force of his fall forced the air out of his lungs. "Back off!" Ryder said with a deep frown, releasing him from the water's grasp. He hated fighting and using his blessing for such treacherous things, but it was obvious that these Vagabonds weren't going to give up their freedom without a fight, and he was not about to let these foul-mouthed heathens hurt anyone.

Upon catching sight of the group of vagabonds, Khazada felt her heart drop as she knew that with her herds new policy regarding the herd less horses, she'd be forced to do the very thing she was so against. At Aragon's quite words, Khazada's fears were confirmed and her breath nearly caught in her throat. More then once Khazada would avoid such missions or tasks as deep down the draft mixed mare wasn't sure she'd have the nerve to take another equines's freedom away from them, despite the policy. And now...now she was faced nose first with such a decision as it was clear these vagabonds were going to fight back.
Her legs trembled under her weight as for once the draft dun mare found herself unable to react as quickly as one would except a fleet foot too. Even as Aragon and Ryder were quick to action, Khazada felt her hooves rooted to the warm sand, her mind whirling as to what to do. She couldn't just turn tail and leave as she was here to support her herd mates as they came first but that didn't mean Khazada was ready to raise a hoof against these other horses. They may as well cut her in two as the dun mare couldn't seem to make up her mind as quickly as the others. I can't...I just can't... Khazada's thoughts echoed, her lavender gaze almost distant as she backed up, her gaze briefly watching the others of her team as another lump developed in her throat. Some fleet foot she was acting like as Khazada seemed to be avoiding the idea of getting into the fight that ensued.
