Farsight Talori Entertainer
Farsight let out a shaky breath, his heart racing as the rumors echoed in his mind. ‘It’s only the beginning.’ ‘They’ll come for us all you know.’ ‘Blood for Blood, they’ll pay their dues.’ Farsight wanted to vomit, to lay down and hide away, perhaps this time he could manage not getting the snot beat out of him, but knowing him. Was there any other option? No. Farsight shook his head, they was rumors of others being here. Roaming the wilds, waiting to strike. Farsight couldn’t help, but shake his head at this madness. When would it stop? Why would Cascade let them all suffer so greatly? Had they not all paid their debts to her? No using screaming at the Gods, they answer to no one, there would be no justice, just bloodshed, Farsight thought bitterly to himself. Eyes glanced up from his small home, and with a deep breath he knew he had to find his companions, his little team, and maybe others that wanted to stay safe together? Yes it was a great a plan, an excellent one, way better then sitting at home letting his thoughts overrun him like madness. With one deep breath, he walked out from his home on the search for more familiar faces, faces he had longed to see since the rumors began. Farsight began to work his way to the middle of Torrine, where many gathered in small groups, he stood there glancing around, come on come, he thought to himself as he began to look a bit more frantic Where is everyone? Wings shifted nervously, as he gulped a bit. He’d be damned if he had to raid everyone's houses to bring all of them together, but hell, he’d do it. Hoof and all, he’d drag them all together. Everything was better when they were together right? [Post 1 l Word Count: 316]

Checkpoint 1// It seems like just another day locked within Torrine’s walls when you hear shouting in the distance. The settlement’s guards seem distracted by something, but you don’t know what. You and a few other curious bystanders decide to wander over to try and check it out.

Talori Guardian
Times had been tough ever since Torrine and no matter how often Daemyn reminded himself that this wasn't permanent, he couldn't shake the feeling. He'd never been good at looking past tomorrow, found it ridiculously difficult to plan ahead and lived mostly in the moment, day to day.
'This isn't permanent', they all said, yet it had been almost two months, far too long in Daemyn's mind. His father had sensed the brewing storm in his otherwise calm son before he was to leave for Torrine and had tried to disperse the clouds:
'They will see that you were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. They will see that you are not an instigator, that you do not support these crazy pegasi, that you are still a true defender of our land. You mother and I both agree that your engagement will be annulled. We cannot have you associate with... those types. I urge you to keep to yourself, distance yourself from that mare and anyone else there. Stay on good terms with the guardians, offer your help in any way possible. Once you are released from Torrine we will find you a proper wife, and you will regain favor in no time. '
The aging stallion had spoken out of love, had tried to pacify his son, but instead the words gutted Daemyn, devastated him. After that conversation, Daemyn had taken careful notice of his fellow detainees. Pegasi of course and those who openly spoke for them, and a surprisingly large number of those that didn't quite conform to Talori living standards. He was hurt, he was angry and the only one who kept him grounded was Kalakara.
His Kalakara.
The marriage had been small and intimate, close friends invited to celebrate their union. It had been the happiest day in his life, and he didn't care for one second how his parents might react. He loved Kali deeply, and he would stay by her always, her unwavering rock in whatever storm might come. He let his parents know of the union in a letter, that was all. He was hurt, angry, frustrated and didn't once stop to think of the repercussions his actions might cause. He was rebelling for the first time in his life, and it felt good!
Daemyn spend most of his time glued to Kalakara's side, wanting to spent every waking moment with her. When he sensed her need for space he 'patrolled' Torrine, doing what he could to help settle arguments or even fights. He stayed on good terms with the assigned guardians, but grew increasingly restless with this 'gilded' confinement.
On one such day of restless roaming, he caught sight of a well known freckled hide and his mood improved vastly. Company from a friend was just what he needed, so he picked up his large hooves and trotted to the smaller pegasus.
"Farsight! " he greeted cheerfully, nickering softly as he dipped his head in greeting. He madly wanted to wrap his neck around the other in a tight hug, but kept himself in check. "How have you been, little buddy? " he asked with a smile, but it melted from his face at the sound of distant shouting. Anything out of the normal had him on edge these days, and his soft and friendly face hardened into a trained guardian, eyes following the movements of distracted Torrine guards.
"What is going on... " he mumbled, mostly to himself before heading off towards the commotion. If it was a fight he might be able to lend a hoof. It would make him feel useful again.

Kalakara | BrewerSighing, the brewer squinted, concentrating on telepathically controlling the jug of water that she used to tend to the plants in her small garden. Ever since she and Daemyn had tied the proverbial knot, in a small, close ceremony, with only their Torrine friends (and Eden) present, Kali had felt a growing desire to do whatever she could to try and create a home in this makeshift world. She hoped it would help both herself and her new husband feel a little less trapped in this 'safe' place. While Kali wouldn't outright call Torrine a prison, she certainly did not consider it freedom. Being trapped inside was draining to the Brewer, and she often wondered how much longer she would be contained within Torrine's walls. Dae, of course, made it easier. Having someone to come home to, like a rock in the midst of a rushing river, was a glorious feeling. Having friends in Torrine assuaged the Brewer as well. Ever since her wedding ceremony to Daemyn, Kali had often found herself pondering what stout friends she had. Despite Torrine's captive walls, they had managed to find a few pockets of happiness here and there.
Life had certainly been interesting since their banishment; that could not be argued. Thinking back on the wedding, Kali was again astounded at the events that had taken place in the last few months. Since the dreaded sacrifice of the child pegasus, she and Daemyn had grown and experienced much. Kali was still in shock that Daemyn had not only joined her in Torrine, but continued with their engagement, after disputes with his family arose. It seemed unfathomable to Kali that either of them could go against their parents wishes. Luckily, Kali hadn't been forced too; her parents were thrilled that they had finally shipped off their problem daughter. Now they could honestly say they were a "respectable" Talori family. She could barely imagine what Dae's family must think of him now. In the past two months, Kali had struggled with the situation. On one hand, she was proud that Dae had chosen her, had stuck by her, promising to be her shelter in the storm. But on the other, she couldn't help but feel like the wedge that had helped drive his family apart. Perhaps they would still be on good terms if not for Kali. Perhaps this would have happened regardless. She thought that she might never be able to tell for sure. What she did know was that Dae loved her, and she him, with a deep and furious passion rivaled by none. Well, almost none.
As Kali's thoughts wandered, she turned her head, glancing at her own glossy black and white sides. Other than the row of piercings near her udders, the flesh was unscathed and smooth. But if she squinted just right, she could imagine it. The movement, the growth. In the last month, since she and Dae had settled into their Torrine home, they had been the perfect example of Talori newlyweds. They had followed all of the traditions of a Talorian engagement and wedding - having a Cleric present, gathering friends - save for one. Any good Talorian couple waited at least three months, getting to know each other before they even considered expanding their family. One month...three...it wasn't that big of a difference, right? At least, she hoped Dae would see it that way, when she got around to mentioning the subject.
Before Kali could ponder the thought any farther, her ears picked up a faint sound from some distance away. Turning, Kali trotted towards the sound, all thoughts of her relationship banished for the moment. Her ears led her towards the commotion, and she quickly picked up a canter, watching to make sure she didn't tumble into anyone. Sliding to a stop, Kali rested her gaze on Dae and Farsight.
"What's happening here?" Kali questioned, in lieu of an introduction. Curiosity had gotten the better of her manners, at least for the time being.

Even from a dark night, songs of beauty can be born." - Mary Anne Radmacher
Tansy felt the dark around her. It had been her constant companion here in Torrine even when it was midday. Which it was or at least some sort of daylight was bleeding through the sheets of thatch she had stuck to the windows to block it. Rolling over in the mound of blankets she looked at it. The bristled feeling of her mane , or lack there of, against the harsh wool blankets she had managed to gather grated her nerves. Just a few days ago she had managed the cut nearly all of it down to its roots. She wanted to feel clean and for only a few minutes the weight of her hair made Tansy feel better. Regret settled in though and soon she resigned herself to stay in her hovel forever. Eventually she would rot without food or water. Huffing away a beetled that had managed to reach her island of blankets. Pretty little thing, Tansy thought to herself as she eventually closed her eyes. She was a mangled thing now, and she knew it. In her phobia she had began to chew at her hips, even now she could feel the dusty air blow across the bare spots on her. Even the lack of her usual dense mane had her shivering. The Vanner should have never come to this place. She was a fool to think it was okay. The friends she loved all had love of their own, what was she? Trash. Squeezing her eyes shut she rolled again, away from the sun that did come through and tried not to cry. She was tired of doing that. Something however perked her interest and dropped her turmoil from her mind. Noises that were not especially normal were coming to her ears and for the first time this day Tansy stood. Her legs were a bit wobbly and muscles that had once been used to running the beaches screeched their protest. In her miasma of emotions, she had obviously lost weight and muscle mass. Finally making the trek to the window she urged aside the thatch covering with a grunt and blinked at the white outside. Leering out with slotted eyes she saw little except the usual restrained bustle in Torrine. Her home was nearer to the more active parts and she watched as a few horses passed by. Gaining more sight by the second she heard a familiar voice. Kali. Cringing at her own eagerness to leap out the window to them, she let the cover fall and began to hoof back to her blanket mound. Kalakara | BrewerAs Kali watched the Guardians, squinting as though she could lessen the distance with her expression, her attention was wholly absorbed. Curiosity bubbled within her, and she wanted nothing more than to know what on earth was happening. In such a drowsy, similar place as Torrine, any excitement was like water to a horse in the desert: life saving. But...there was always the other side of the coin to be considered. Whatever was happening, it was becoming quite a distraction. And if they were distracted, what might slip past unnoticed? Kali's mind was filled with these thoughts, and her focus was so intense that she noticed neither the fact that they were standing in close proximity to Tansy's house, nor that Sonya had crept into the Vanner's home. In fact, it was quite shocking to Kali when the bay stallion appeared, stalwart and large, beside her, asking for help.
"Miss, might I borrow you a moment?" At the sound of Sonya's voice, Kali jumped slightly, turning to glance at her friend. Recovering, the brewer tossed her mane and nodded, saying "Of course." Something in his tone told Kali that there was reason to be concerned. Brushing her shoulder against Dae's, Kali mumbled that she would return in a moment. Hopefully, she wouldn't miss any of the action.
Kali glanced about, noticing a line of sandy hoofprints leading from one of the huts to Sonya, and she followed them back to the house, nudging the door open a crack so she could see inside. There, in the semi-darkness, a familiar black-and-white shape lay, like an old, thrown out towel. Her coat was patchy, and her beautiful locks had been shorn, something that must have happened after Kali and Dae's wedding. Kali's eyes were wide. How had she not noticed something was wrong with Tansy at the wedding? Had she been in such a stupor that the mare's decline had missed her? Even with her mane and tail, Tansy could not have looked as well as when she first joined them in Torrine. She was little more than a shell, lying in the midst of her hovel.
"Tansy, Darling, it's just me," Kali said, her voice low and soft as she spoke to the mare. "Can you talk?" she asked, hoping to entice Tansy to speak, to move, to do something. They had to get the Vanner mare up.

Farsight Harrower of Talori
Ears flickered upwards at the sound of hooves approaching as he turned he spotted it was the one and only Daemyn. A bright smile grew on his lips and he was happy to havehim along his side. It felt liek it was but a day ago he had attended the wedding of the two. "Daemyn, glad to see you." he laughed charming as he dipped his head. Farsight while still being young, seemed to grow more into the stallion figure. While he was graced for such a while with that delicate figure, he was building outwards, looking more and more like an adult. Eyes glanced towards the shouting the feud, and his ears flickered back. The feeling of his racing heart began to grow more, and as Kali approached and asked them what was happening. His mouth felt sand in his mouth, he didn't know, but things here... Have not been well. "Im not sure." he remarked hoarsely, he was about to suggest to go, until Sonador approached.
Farsight could feel the urgency in his voice, and he followed suit with Kali, but his heart was hammering against his chest. Each hut they passed made vile rise in his throat. No no no no gods no. He thought as they moved to her little hut. Tansy's hut. The door cracked and Kali stepped in, but Farsight... Farsight stood there as he could hear Kali's voice call out to her, telling her it was alright. Where was Farsight? Never where he should be. Nostrils flared as he took in short breaths. He didnt want to look, but he did. Rushed breath in, and he took a step in, and what he saw. It shattered him.
How selfish could he have been. He should have known what would have happened. Tansy and Farsight shared everything, so why did Farsight not see that this was the wrong move for Tansy. Yet there she laid, a mere shell of who she used to be. Her mane and tail nearly gone. She looked terrible, and it only destroyed him more. He promised he would take care of her, he promised. But after all this time. He broke promises, he was never where he should be. Farsight felt the pangs of guilt. "Tansy." he whispered out to her. "Tansy, its me Farsight." he remarked as he trotted over to her, to her nest. "I've missed you." he remarked as he nipped at her cheek. "Its okay Tansy, you know? We are all here for you. We are a family. Birds of a feather stick together." he remarked flashing her a wink, as she too carried a few of his own feathers. But as Farsight looked to her, he wondered would words ever be enough? His actions showed otherwise, he was barely around, but he could think of so many excused of why he wasn't. He had bad visions he couldnt understand, he was trying to figure out these rumors to make sure he could care for everyone, his family. Yet with him away, he never saw her beginning to crack, and here she laid shattered. Way to go Farsight, he thought numbly to himself.

Zenith Talori Brewer
Sleep never came easily to Zenith, and even when the poor horse did finally manage some slumber, it was almost always filled with intense and vivid nightmares. On rare occasions though, once the poor equine was entirely exhausted, both physically and mentally, they managed to get some semblance of rejuvenating rest. This happened to be one of those rare times. Fate is cruel though, and Zenith’s sleep was cut short by a loud ruckus outside Torrine’s gate, which was unfortunately close to the copper equine’s open window. Sitting bolt upright, Zenith’s ears swiveled around more than a spinning top as they attempted to calm down, heart racing from the scare. Quickly reaching for some vials on a nearby shelf, the spotted equine downed the plethora of potions they drank every morning in an attempt to manage the debilitating pain and anxiety that threatened to keep them bed bound daily. As the appaloosa began to feel more at ease, they strapped on two sets of leg braces. They weren’t as stable or as accommodating as the cart to be sure… but ever since the day Zenith had awoken with the cursed wings sprouting from their shoulders, the cart was impractical at best. There would need to be many modifications made to it, just to adjust to the new shape of the equine’s body, let alone the weight and design changes that would need to be applied to allow for flight. Sighing heavily, Zenith slowly made their way to their hooves, bracing themself against the wall for support as they did. Looking out the window, the copper equine tried to pinpoint what was causing all the chaos outside, but there were too many things blocking a proper view. They were able to see that most of Torrine’s residents also seemed concerned by all the noise, and were crowding around in small groups trying to discover the source. Zenith’s first thought was to hole up inside, avoiding the crowds at all costs. They were anxiety inducing, and with everyone already out there, if something big did go down, they’d know pretty quickly. Zenith’s mind quickly changed though when they spotted the lone form of Daemyn standing nearby. If he was there, Kali wouldn't be far behind....Maybe Farsight was out there too. The appaloosa felt thier heart skip a bit at the thought of the younger stallion. They had been through so much together, and it was impossible for the copper horse to deny they had grown incredibly fond of him over the last few months, and it seemed their mutual feelings for each other were beginning to blossom into something more. Mustering up as much energy as they could, Zenith swung open the door to their hut, awkward wings pinned firmly against their sides as to not draw any unwanted attention. Slowly, the colorful pegasus made their way to Daemyn’s side, letting out a soft sigh of relief as they did. At least they knew they were safe with the guardian nearby. “Any idea what all the noise is about?” They asked tentatively, concern in their voice evident as they strained for a better view.

Kalakara | BrewerKali wanted nothing more than to nudge Tansy up, get her standing, moving, being her old self. But it wouldn't be that easy. From the way the mare looked, Kali feared that if she reached out to touch the Vanner, the black and white mare would shatter like fragile glass. It broke Kali's heart to see her this way, lost in her own mental prison. And they had all missed it. A sound at the door took Kali's attention away from Tansy for a moment. Farsight. Poor, poor Farsight. If Kali's heart was broken by this, his must be nothing more than dust. He and Tansy were so close; Kali couldn't fathom what it must be like for him to see her like this. She supposed it might have even shaken the pegasus stallion to his core.
But, to his credit, Farsight didn't remain shaken for long. Almost immediately, the stallion began consoling Tansy, urging her to understand that they were all a family. Birds of a feather, he called them. Funny. Feathers were why they were all here. It was a more fitting metaphor than Kali could have thought of. And they certainly had to stick together now. Tansy needed them. They needed each other.
"Farsight, stay with her," Kali instructed, keeping a gentle tone with her friend. "I'm going to look for water," the mare announced, looking from Farsight to Sonya. "Make sure she's safe," Kali implored, staring straight at each of the stallions for a moment. "If you can get her up, good. If not, let her rest. I'll be right back," Kali stated. Then, she turned, ready to rummage through Tansy's home. She felt guilty, intrusive, but she knew that Tansy needed help. If she minded Kali rummaging around, that might even be a good sign. It would be good if the mare took an interest in who tramped around her home. With this in mind, Kali ducked deeper into Tansy's small home, on a mission for water.

Talori Guardian
His Kali joined him briefly and he acknowledged her presence with a smile and by pressing his side to hers briefly. Then followed a vague shrug of a shoulder and brief shake of his head. "Impossible to tell at the moment, " he replied in a thoughtful rumble, turning his head as Sonador appeared. Something clearly troubled the pegasus, expression and voice one of urgency. He replied with a small 'yes of course' to Kali, and watched as both she and Farsight followed to Tansy's home. Brief worry curled his guts, but the distant commotion drew his attention back. If Tansy was in need of aid, she had three caring individuals already present. Daemyn needed to know what was going on outside, so he could assets any danger and bring his friends to safety once more. A flash of bright color alerted him of Zenith's arrival and he dipped his head to give her now feathered shoulder a friendly and gentle nudge-greeting. He wanted to hug Zenith too, wanted to hug all his friends whenever they appeared, but now was certainly not the time. His mind strayed briefly as he laid eyes on Zenith's wings... her wings! Clearly there was a greater power at work, though Daemyn could not name it or indeed understand why it would change his friend... and his love. He doubted it to be the work of Cascade. Why would she change one of her water-born children and give her wings? Zenith's question broke his thoughts and hummed briefly, picking up his giant feet as he approached the commotion slowly, should she wish to join him. "Can't say. But it has the Guardians on edge, " he said, face and voice all business once more. He might be locked inside Torrine, but he would still perform his duties when needed. "I'm going to take a closer look. The others are with Tansy, if you want to join them, " he added, but gave no objections if she stayed with him.

Tansy | Cleric "Even from a dark night, songs of beauty can be born." - Mary Anne Radmacher "Tansy, what happened to you?"The foggy minded mare looked up and saw the warm face of Sonador. She had known of him prior to their captivity but being in such closed quarters had given them a chance to interact more. "Sonador... " The balded female let a glance go to the now open door and then back. "Oh, my mane" Feeling embarrassed she pulled the blanket up over her frizzy head. Tansy knew it was awful but she just couldn't handle it anymore. The hair had needed to go. In her dismay at her mane, the female missed it was concern for herself. That's when she realized Kali was there now. More warm feeling spread in Tansy's chest and as Kali asked if she could talk Tansy let out a gentle yawn and bobbled her head to say she could speak. A light dawned with ill slowness before she realized Kali had probably wanted words. "Ah yes... I'm okay... You don't have t-"Tansy was in the middle of trying to get her hooves under herself when Farsight came in. She let her body relax again as the gravity of what she must be now hit her. She felt the dirt and the grime that was only in her mind to begin with start to chip away inside. Birds of a feather... She thought and looked at the blankets so Farsight would not see her. With a nudge she pulled out the cluster of feathers she wore, each one his and held it out to him. She watched her friends with her fog fills eyes and tried to bring herself back. But how could she. She was lowest of the low here, trash. It was obviously true she had them but what did that mean when she didn't even have herself anymore. She turned her head to see Kali speak of getting up before going somewhere. Looking back to Farsight and Sonador she gave them a worried look. Worried for others before her own well being. "I can stand, but what's going on?"With a shaking you would find in a foal she managed her feet and waited to gain her balance. "See?"Tilting her head and feeling the absence of the blonde and black mane that would usually cascade around her she tried a smile. Post : 2 Word Count : 368

Farsight Harrower of Talori
Words fell from her lips, but where they truly hers? She spoke of being okay, but it seemed so soft, but a mere whisper, like the turning of a page. Yet she got up, and Farsight was there along side of her, though when she asked what was happening, it was his turn to not know what to say exactly. " Guards are bickering, a lot of horses have been on edge as of late." he remarked softly. " Let's go, best to stay together." he remarked offering them a smile, but it felt wrong to smile. Ears flickered back as he ruffled his feathers letting it cling to his side before leaving Tansy's home, allowing the others to help her if need be. He took a shaky breath in as he was alone for a moment. Settle Farsight, settle. He told himself closing his eyes for but a mere second. Eyes opened and he spotted Dae and... Zenith. Boy was he in it for the feelings today. He remembered her sobbing to him the gods were going to curse her, and look what happened... They gave her wings and now her name could be drawn, and she could be next. It shattered him, he accepted his fate long ago, but her... It wasn't fair, it wasn't right. She was devout, cared for others, truly she had been burdened enough in what life had to offer her. How could the gods let all his friends suffer as such, the only ones seem to get a moment of peace was Dae and Kali and that he was beyond thankful for. There were but a small light in this ever dark growing world of theirs. " Dae, Zenith." he called out to him as he trotted over to them, and glanced over his shoulder. " The others should be with us soon... Tansy..." he looked downwards and sighed, his body shook faintly. " Has seen better days." he remarked. Farsight was unsure how much more he could take and watch his friends suffer. He looked to Zenith with a tinge of sadness as he walked next to her and nuzzled into her cheek for comfort. He just wanted a second, a second to feel okay. As he pulled away from her, the moment was gone, as his attention turned towards the guards. This didnt seem good. " Best we go see what's going on." he remarked as he looked to Dae and nodded allowing him to lead, as Farsight knew how well he was at leading. Terrible. Post 3 WC|| 424

Kalakara | Brewer Only a few seconds after Farsight excused himself, Kali made her way back out of Tansy's inner dwelling, tugging a jar of water behind her with her telepathic abilities. Gently, she set the jug down before Tansy, noticing that the mare had managed to push herself into a standing position. Even if it wouldn't miraculously cure Tansy of her woes, Kali was relieved to see that something had gotten into the mare, urging her to at least try a little. That was all they could ask of her at the moment.
"Drink," Kali instructed softly, her ears twitching as she half listened to the sounds from outside. They couldn't afford to stay in Tansy's home much longer if Kali wanted to learn what was going on. Which, of course, she did. Tansy could not be rushed, but perhaps a gentle, yet firm hand was just what the doctor ordered. Funny, Tansy was the Cleric, the one who was supposed to heal her friends. Perhaps that was why no one had noticed when she'd needed healing for herself.
"When you're ready, we need to join the others," Kali said, echoing Farsight's sentiments. "It's not wise for us all to be split up, with whatever's going on out there." She hesitated for a moment, wanting nothing more than to hover over Tansy, making sure she did everything right. But, Kali knew that if she were put in Tansy's place, she would feel ashamed if her friend tried to baby her through even the smallest of tasks. She would rather know she was supported, and be given space to test her own abilities.
"I'll be right outside," Kali added, gently touching her muzzle to Tansy's cheek, then backing away. She made her way outside, blinking at the sudden brightness. Hopefully, Sonya would be enough to watch over Tansy while she readied herself. And, hopefully, her friends gathering just outside her door might entice Tansy to exit her home. You can do it, Kali thought, as she glanced over her shoulder one last time. We're all out here; come join us, Tansy. I know you want to. It would be up to the black and white Vanner now, if she chose to rally herself and join her friends. All Kali could do was hope her little mental enticements worked.
Once Kali's vision cleared from the brightness of the sun, she let her eyes land on her friends. It appeared that Zenith had made her way into the group as well, wings pinned tightly to her sides as she talked with the others. It sent a pang through Kali's heart to see the poor pegasus standing that way. She had once been safe, albeit not looked favorably upon, thanks to her leg braces, but safe. Now, she was as at-risk as any one of the other pegasi here. Being of royal blood would not save her. How was it fair that Kali, reckless, hedonistic, Kali had been blessed by her Goddess, given the most coveted species change of all, while innocent, sweet Zenith was doomed to a lottery of death? What kind of joke was that?
Sighing, Kali tried to clear her head, knowing that her distracted state wouldn't be of aid to the others. Picking up her pace, she trotted closer. Nodding a hello to Zenith, she stopped by her husband's shoulder, drawn to him for strength.
"I've asked Tansy to meet us out here," Kali said, glancing from one horse to another. "Can we wait for her? I was hoping that, if we were all here, she might join us," Kali explained quietly. "Besides, the more of us there are to speak with the guards, the safer we'll be," she added. Although, she wasn't sure how much help she or Tansy would be. At least they could lend moral support.

Tansy | Cleric "Even from a dark night, songs of beauty can be born." - Mary Anne Radmacher
When Kali brought forth water, Tansy froze solid. Her flanks quivered with fear and very nearly pleasure. The aquaphil had not been near water for only a couple days but to her it felt like she had been traveling a desert for years. Twitching her head no, she tried to pull her eyes away from the jug. Tansy was sure some had an idea of her compulsive need to wash and be clean. Only Farsight knew the underlying reasoning or just how deeply it burdened the mare. Soon Farsight went back outside and was shortly followed by Kali. The light dimmed in Tansy but a glow inside remained as she felt Sonya tend to her frizzy of a mane and even righted her feather clip. She smiled at him, a little more sincere than the worrying one she tried to present her friends. He was a vanner like her and though not in top form their dense bodies were similar and for once in her life she envied someone mane and tail. Why had she does what she had. Huffing softly as her legs seemed to grasp their job again she leaned in nuzzled his neck. " Thank you..." Alone with a fellow Vanner her voice shook a little. A sign that she was indeed not alright but she would try and put her best hoof forward for her friends. When Sonya asked if she needed anything a small tear rolled from her eye and dispersed in her fur. She shook her head to hide the fact and thanked him softly again. Tansy noted his attention breaking away slightly and focusing where the others had gone. Gingerly she shuffled the blankets and quilts until she found a pale blue thin fabric. With a gentle toss it wrapped around her neck and draped her shoulders, hiding the hatchet job if her mane. Feeling slightly embarrassed Tansy looked back to the male. "Could you pull t- this up over my ears?" She asked of him and then gestured to the door. "We could go see what's happening then?"

Farsight Harrower of Talori
Farsight looked over his shoulder as Kali approached them, and he smiled at her lightly. Though his ears flickered a bit down as she spoke of Tansy. He worried for her and wondered if this was the right move for her, to go see what the commotion was all about, yet he was not in any position into really be making choices. They all saw how his choices ended up. " Hopefully she will be okay." he spoke lightly, sadness grasping at his throat. Eyes looked to them all before nuzzling at Zenith's face once more before separating himself from her side. Taking a few steps forwards he eyed what was going on, how many bickered and others were gathering around listening, while many equine seemed to flee the scene not wanting to be apart of it. He snorted a bit glancing over his shoulder to look at them, and the two yet to come. Was this a wise move? But they were left out from all what was happening outside of this place. Sure many could tell them what had happened, but that was all mere gossip. Surely the guards or someone would know. He felt the ene to move closer to be able to hear what was spoken, but they had to be patient, they had to wait for the others. Then their group, their little make shift family would be complete, yet fate always had a nasty way of forcing them all on their own ways. Post 4

Talori Guardian
Farsight reappeared after a while and brought troubling words with him. Tansy was unwell? Sick, he wondered? Come to think of it, he hadn't seen much of the vanner since his wedding, but he has simply assumed that she was busy doing her own thing, that she had, perhaps, taken up Cleric duties alongside Eden. Now he felt the brief touch of guilt for having left her alone, for having well, forgotten. He'd been happy to isolate himself with Kalakara in their new home, happy to ignore the world outside and pretend that everything was well. How foolish of him. He didn't ask Farsight about Tansy's situation, just stood in silence until the small pegasus suggested they move. Yes, this would do him well! He would get a distraction from his thoughts, but just as he picked up his hooves, Kali returned and requested they wait further. It wasn't her fault, and of course Daemyn would wait for Tansy and Sonador any time, but he couldn't help getting frustrated, letting out a sharp breath and flattening his ears for a moment. He closed his eyes trying to ground himself and be calm once more. It angered him that he hadn't been able to identify the source of the shouting yet, but if he was to judge on the individuals fleeing, this wasn't a simple disagreement or fight. No, unfortunately it felt like something much larger was brewing in front of them, and as the wait continued he began to grow nervous.
It was unusual for the large stallion to be so on edge, but who could really blame him. After everything the little family of friends had been through, he wanted nothing more than to know what was going on, so he could keep them safe! When Sonador finally appeared with Tansy, wrapped in cloth and looking terrible, Daemyn steeled his face to keep from showing any emotions. He felt pain for the poor mare and he wanted desperately to console her but... the commotion!
"You haven't missed anything, but we're about to find out what's going on, " he said, tone somewhat brusque, betraying his nerves. "Keep your eyes and ears open and stay together. I don't... I don't want any of you lost in the commotion, " he added swiftly.
With those words Daemyn finally began moving, slowly on account of Zenith's bracers, making sure the entire family could keep up.

Kalakara | BrewerTansy looked even worse in the light. Kali struggled to keep her facial expression neutral, not wanting to upset the fragile cleric any more than she already was. She noticed that Tansy had covered her shorn mane with a blue cloth, so that the others would not see the full extent of her damaged body; Kali felt guilty for feeling thankful. The last thing they needed was everyone's mind to be preoccupied with a little cut hair. Certainly, it was indicative of much darker, more concerning issues within the confines of Tansy's mind, but the group could come together and deal with that issue as soon as they knew they were safe.
For now, the commotion was growing larger by the moment, and Kali's concern grew with it. Her entire body was on edge as she tried to get a glimpse of whatever was going on. "I wonder what it could be," Kali said aloud, her thoughts leaking into speech as she took a few steps forward, pulling even alongside her husband.
Dae was warning the group to stay together, lest they get torn apart in the confusion. It was good advice; they would have to keep near each other in case they got into a scrape as well. They didn't know what they would be getting into, but Kali knew they would all back each other up if needed. Something hit her, as Kali looked around at the gathered faces. They were here; the group that had nearly escaped the Pegasus hunting, but had been trapped at the last moment. Strangely, that gave her some comfort. The friends she had here would stick together, no matter what they were about to face.
"We'll be safer together, whatever we're going to find," Kali agreed, glancing around the group.

Checkpoint 2// As you prepare to set out and discover the cause of the ruckus, three unfamiliar faces approach the settlement's border from outside the gate. Usually it wouldn't be any cause for alarm, as Torrine's residents frequently receive visitors, but these equines are different... All three of them are pegasi, and they seem rather intent on speaking with you... (Wlecome Vagabond Plot: 206 ...And Into the Fire !)

Torsten "Where you recognise evil, speak out against it, and give no truces to your enemies "- Viking proverb.
As they slinked through the inky night, Torsten worried this had been too easy... It was obvious Antiope's diversion was in full effect as the commotion reached a dull roar in the background. The stallion dislodged the small blade he kept in his cheek, his hair on end expecting the stray guardian to fall upon them, but as the camp came into view he wondered just how low intellect must these guards have.
He fanned out behind Izel, expecting her to make the introductions, or perhaps Tabitha. He focused on scanning every inch of the camp that his eyes could focus on, creating a mental blueprint. It was the only way he could fight the bile slowly rising in his throat at what condition they were going to find the imprisoned. It's not as if they could all just fly away into the sunrise. Could those with wings even fly at all? What if they had been mutilated? What if none of them could travel at all? What if none of them wanted to travel?

Zenith Talori Brewer
"Impossible to tell at the moment, Can't say. But it has the Guardians on edge. " Daemyn’s voice was gentle but concerned as he answered the appaloosa’s question. "I'm going to take a closer look. The others are with Tansy, if you want to join them, " Zenith shook their head slightly, staying close to Dae. While the copper horse truly cared for Tansy, they always felt a bit like the third wheel when Tansy and Farsight were together. It was no fault of theirs, as it wasn’t like the two were falling all over each other, it was more a mix of Zenith’s insecurities and anxieties paired with feeling like Farsight deserved better than an old, broken, crippled mess such as themself.
Ears swiveled back quickly as the sound of Farsight’s voice echoed in an empty alley way near by.
"Dae, Zenith. The others should be with us soon... Tansy...Has seen better days."
Zenith frowned slightly, worry over Tansy’s wellbeing just as strong as the fear that Farsight would leave them for the gentle cleric who seemed to understand him so much better than they ever could. They noted the slight shaking of Farsight’s body as he approached, pressing his muzzle to their cheek. Zenith closed their eyes, pushing away the worry as the young stallion’s warm breath caressed their cheek.
The moment passed quickly, and soon Kali had joined the trio, nodding hello to Zen before moving to stand beside her husband. The little copper equine nodded a greeting as well, though chose to keep quiet as Kali began speaking. "I've asked Tansy to meet us out here,Can we wait for her? I was hoping that, if we were all here, she might join us,"Besides, the more of us there are to speak with the guards, the safer we'll be."
Zenith nodded in agreement, glancing back towards Tansy’s cottage. Had they been a bad friend, not stopping in to check on the younger mare? Zenith quickly pushed the thoughts away, reminding themself of how terribly they’d been doing these last few weeks. Zenith was barely able to care for themself in a secure environment, let alone even considering leaving the house.
Those thoughts were quickly shoved aside as Sonador and Tansy approached the small gathering. A sigh of relief escaped Zen’s lips as they laid eyes on the bi-colored cleric. She was indeed worse for wear, but she was up and walking, and that was what mattered. Zen offered the mare an empathetic smile as she drew nearer, standing by Sonador’s side. Zenith didn’t know the pegasus very well, but he seemed to be a decent fellow.
Zen half listened as the others mulled over their next course of action, their attention more focused on what surrounded the small group. Changes in tones, emotions on faces, the number of equines around them, the strangers approaching from the shadows… Zenith’s head whipped around at the realization as their voice caught in their throat. Unable to speak, the copper pegasus nudged Farsight’s hind quarters, hoping he’d notice the figures drawing closer. FarsightHarrower of Talori
Everything was coming together, but was it all bound to fall apart? He looked around as his family was finally one. Though some maybe new, he welcomed them gladly. Yet a nudge into him, made him eye Zenith a bit, before looking over and then he saw them. His gut wrenched together, and he suddenly felt sick. He wanted to wretch, he felt this a lot at times, and he honestly couldn't quite grasp it. Even dreams plagued him, mere visions, scattered amongst dreams. Farsight narrowed his eyes to the strangers, and glanced around at his family. " You see them over there?" he whispered to them lightly so they wouldn't draw attention to them. Stomach lurched again as he spotted the strangers wings. All of them Pegasi. A part of him wanted to celebrate their freedom, but a part of him felt like this was all bad news. Ears flickered back a bit as he looked to Dae. " Should we go towards them?" he asked. Farsight didnt want the burden of choosing today. He didnt want to pick the wrong thing and fail them all like before. He wanted to be a hero, and now? Now he just wanted peace, to be with his friends and family. He wanted to be free with them, but what was the price they had to pay? Farsight looked to Zenith, nipping at her mane a bit, trying to settle his queasy stomach. He didnt feel good, and he could feel the cold sweats on his body. Eyes turned towards Tansy, wondering how she felt about this all. His dearest and oldest friend. He looked to her, and offered her a small smile. It was all he could muster, and so he turned away and looked back to the strangers beyond the gate. Where freedom whispered his name, surely it whispered to them all. Post 5

Even from a dark night, songs of beauty can be born." - Mary Anne Radmacher
As she made her way into the sun, Tansy felt her insecurities she was burying in her cottage well back up like stomach acids. The urge to rush back into the dark of her home very nearly buckled the young cleric's legs from under her dense but weakened body. But as her eyes took in the sight of all the ones she held dear to her heart, her minds turmoil seemed to settle enough to regain her legs and hopefully it had only looked like a hiccup. Staying nearest Sonya she heard him ask "Have we missed anything?" and indeed there was something going on. Angry voices and odd shapes that were not familiar to Tansy crossed her vision but her dulled mind did not seem to take it in. She just wanted her friends, Dae seemed on edge with Kali worried after her love and their group. "I don't... I don't want any of you lost in the commotion" Lost? Where were they to go. They were just trapped trash, surely whatever was going on would not bode well for the bound together horses she loved. Kali chirruped her agreement and Tansy absently nodded. The barely held up shawl slipped from her head and pooled at the base of her neck and shoulders. In the sun the frazzled end of her mane glistened. Other than her sunken eyes and thinned body this wasn't a bad look with the wrap around her neck. Tansy however, knew none of this and cared even less how she looked anymore. She just didn't wish to worry her friends but it seemed all their attentions were needed elsewhere and soon the foggy mind found out why. Zenith saw them first and soon they alerted Farsight and some others nearby saw the strange pegasi nearby. "Should we go towards them?" In her mental prison something flared for no reason. With widened eyes she took a few steps away from Sonador. Nostrils flared as she sought to find the strangers, where these beasts she should know. Flagging her hind legs began to buckle softly though she was still able to stop them from giving out completely. Some secret part of her mind held onto herself as best as she could and tried to tell her there was nothing to be freaking out over. Farsight tried to smile at her. Then Sonador was gone, though he had given her only the gentlest of nudges here and there to get the frail vanner to the outside it now felt like she was bare. It was simply too much. Tansy plopped down on her rear, her eyes wild as she sought to find the strings of her mind. The sight of Farsight and Zenith. Dae and Kali. The words that came to them from Sonador even, filled her mind. It was too much. Too much. Something big was spilling all around her and in Torrine and she could not catch it. The silent turmoil going on inside her seemed so over the top to the simple happenings around her. A light flipped off in self-perseverance and she stared at the forms of the member of the Freedom's Flight. She had no idea who they were but some how her simplified mind knew something big was happening. Good or bad the broken horse could not tell but it scared her. These beasts seemed to be banded together and she knew damn well they were not Talori. What if somewhere was Jack, her adopted father who had assaulted her in her younger years, the root of most of her mental failings. Chances were the stallion was dead, but that didn't matter to Tansy in her current state. With her eyes, the light off behind them as she thought of the horrors of possibly seeing him again, she looked to Farsight. Her rump still planted on the ground. The words she spoke seemed eerie and very unlike the usually warm Tansy yet it came out smooth and relayed only the slightest fear her irrational mind was feeling. "Who are they Farsight.... I cant see them"That was true, not that they were far away but her eyes were so unaccustomed to sun at this point everything was still sheathed in a white haze. Post : 4 Word Count : 715

The trio arrived at the settlement to the sounds of fighting playing out in the background. Guardians shouted, their words muddled and mixed with the shouts of those familiar to Tabitha. In the distance she could smell the fire, and the faintest of smiles appeared on her lips. With Izel and Torsten following, Tabitha slipped into the settlement. Her eyes scanned the area, looking for any signs of Torrine’s inhabitants. She caught sight of a group ahead. A few of them were pegasi, and a few were simple equines. She eyed them, taking in their forms as she drew closer.
One of the pegasi broke away from the huddled, frightened group and boldy approached. Tabitha squinted at them, a sense of familiarity settling in her. The pegasus spoke and suddenly it hit her. Sonador. To see a familiar face nearly broke Tabitha’s collected composure. Tabitha did not expect to find Sonador at the settlement, did not take into calculation that he could have ended up in Torrine. She could only look at him silently as he spoke, assessing the mixed look in his eyes. She reminded herself that this was not a time for reunion, this was a recruiting mission (or rescue, depending on how one looked at it).
“The primary says our time to strike is near,” she told Sonador simply before she moved her attention to the group that remained in place behind him.
“You needn’t be fearful of us. We are here, on behalf of the Freedom’s Flight, to take you away from this jail that Talori has so cruelly locked you in.” She paused for a moment and glanced to Izel and Torsten. “Join us in our revolution against Talori, an opportunity to make a change in the herd that has condemned us pegasi for far too long. Freedom’s Flight offers a home to all of those who are willing to join our cause. No longer will you have to live in fear simply because you are winged.”
She looked over each of the equines in the small group. They all seemed young, closer to Izel’s age than her own. Each seemed to hold varying degrees of fear and hesitance. Tabitha wanted to sympathize with them, but found herself unable to. No matter how fear-stricken these individuals were, surely they would be able to see this opportunity for what it was?

Kalakara | BrewerAs the group debated what to do about the newcomers, Kali stood silently, taking in the information that surrounded him. As much as the black overo wished to charge forward and find out what was going on, part of him felt a twinge of fear, as the group stood, awaiting their fate. Confusion and fear rolled off his coat in waves, and Kali instinctively pressed close to Dae for support, feeling the palomino's muscles beneath his coat. If it came to the worst, he was glad that Dae was there beside him. Despite what his mind told him, Kali knew that he had another life to protect, and getting into a fight was not the best way to do it.
But, if worst came to worst, fight he would, and fight hard. His own ropey muscles tightened as Sonya announced the arrival of the strangers. He called them the Freedom's Flight...a term that did little more than confuse the black and white paint. He had no idea who these strangers were, and he wasn't so sure he wanted to find out. In the back of his mind, Kali was aware of the sounds of battle, Guardians running and screaming. The hairs along Kali's spine rippled, and his ears flattened instinctively. Something about Sonya's tone set him on edge, despite the succinct, severed manner in which the stallion spoke about the horses. Kali's wondering was echoed by Tansy, who begged Farsight to explain to her what was going on.
Glancing over, Kali gave a concerned look to the Vanner. He was worried that Tansy was not ready to face these newcomers, so recently had she begun her travels outside. Clearly, the mare was broken, and being forced into a potentially dangerous situation with these strangers was not good for the mare's psyche. As the horses approached, Kali's worries grew stronger.
Three of them. The strangers approached, fanning out as they neared the group, and Kali felt himself growing cautious, almost taking a step back from the approaching horses. He wanted to ask them why they were here, how they got here, what they were doing, but the group's leader seemed to have a better idea. She spoke with succinct speech, and her words carried a deep weight. She appeared to be offering freedom to the Talori prisoners, as she extended a wing of friendship to the group of frightened Torrine horses.
The chance to leave....the idea was almost unknown to Kali. He had always grown up in this watery palace, with its beaches, culture, and deep, ingrained hatred for his very being. Even now, the broken C shaped scar on his shoulder burned with memory, searing almost as badly as the day it had been marked upon his flesh. But there were good things here, truly. Roy was one, as well as Dae. Kali's home, his business, even his familiar were deeply intertwined with the Talorian herd. Kali's own species, the hippocampus, were the native children of the Talorian goddess, Cascade. There were so many memories, so many cultural tics, that were tied to the Talori herd. There was also the fear, anger, hurt, the confusion and self hatred that blossomed in the herd's structure.
Kali's heart was thudding in his chest, and he looked from horse to horse, feeling confusion and fright rise within him, choking him. Even though he could breathe as well underwater as he could on land, he was suddenly drowning. His knees shook. As he gasped for breath, Kali struggled to keep his composure; he wanted to show no fear before these strange horses.
Although he wanted to say something, anything, Kali didn't trust his voice. Instead, he shrunk into Dae's side, waiting for the others to share their thoughts. This moment felt as though it were a physical blow, and Kali was left reeling.

Talori Guardian
Stranger-danger was Daemyn's first reaction, accompanied by a snort of warning. His ears held forward stiffly, muscles bulged as he tensed up, readying himself for a possible fight. He had made it his mission to know anyone in Torrine, every face and hide. Names still escaped him, but every villager and guardian was known to him. When newcomers arrived he made sure to add them to his mental library. These three winged strangers were not in his catalog and that was a cause for alarm. Equally unsettling was Sonador's calm approach and exchange of words. He knew them, that much became clear, but unfortunately that did not help any of them. Daemyn held his head high and stood his ground, letting them come to the group and speak. One ear flicked back at Tansy's soft words and he wished dearly he had any comfort for her. But as Kali pressed against his side, tried to draw strength from him, he realized that she was his ultimate priority. Kalakara's safety came first no matter what would happen. It pained him, but he crushed the feeling beneath layers of steel, digging up his Guardian facade. He leaned gently against his wife, let her know by pressure alone that he would protect her. The mare spoke and Daemyn listened, heavy brow knitting across his face. He did not show fear. If needed be, he would become the wall that stood between this possible death and his love. But as the mare carried on a multitude of emotions erupted inside the palomino stallion. They flashed through him so swiftly he was left panting through flared nostrils, but anger was that which took root. Anger at the Talorian culture for needing to sacrifice. Anger at Cascade for demanding blood! Anger at any who would let the murder continue! And anger at this Freedom's Flight. Daemyn suddenly had faces to put on the unseen enemy that had lurked in shadows. Of course he had not believed in the child sacrifice and he would gladly have joined a peaceful revolution to eliminate any further sacrifices. But pegasi and sympathizers had rebelled first, igniting the fire that had led to Daemyn fleeing with his small band of friends. It was that which in turn landed him in Torrine (he refused that Kali's past had anything to do with it), marked as a possible black sheep. The Guardian snorted deeply, ears pinned flat for a moment. This Freedom's Flight would only continue a spiral of bloodshed. A war would blossom and the evidence was in the bodies he had witnessed in the streets. Pegasi and none-winged alike. As much as he disagreed with certain aspects of Talorian culture, he believed in peaceful changes. "You are not welcome here, " he said simply, firmly and lashed his tail once. He would not judge any friend for joining this tantalizing freedom, but for now Daemyn stood firm in his believes. This was not the way to change Aquore.
