Shiann | Wanderer
Shiann watched as Persephone shakily got up from the ground. She stood close, ready to catch her if she were to fall, but no help was needed. The pegasus could still walk. Thank the Gods. Shiann sighed in relief through a weak smile, “You’re one tough bird, you know that?”Rynn made her way over to the three distressed mares and gave her orders. She seemed determined to keep the group together so that they could all put up a resistance against the ursas. No one would be running. Shiann’s heart sunk. She so desperately wanted to run, but perhaps this was for best. They had split in panic when faced against the cultists on that cursed night so many moons ago, and look where that got them. What would have happened if they had stood united then? Would it have made a difference? Shiann shook her head. Stay focused! Rynn was speaking to her specifically now. "Shiann, can you defend Persephone or jump into one of us if we look to be pushed too far. If we look like we could be killed. We need extra support at that time. Just step in quickly."The dappled mare bent her neck to look at the bloodied pegasus behind her once again, eyes scared but determined. I’ll do it. I’ll protect her. Then she turned back to Rynn to give her a decisive nod, “Yes! J-just do me a favor and try not to get killed.” Her gaze met Seeker’s who stood beside the unicorn and smiled. I can do this.Shiann took her position in front of Persephone just as another bear started it’s attack. She dug her feet in the earth ready to take action. Here we go!WC: 290 Post #4

Seeker | Wanderer She was free in her wildness. She was a wanderess, a drop of free water. She belonged to no man and to no city” ― Roman Payne, The Wanderess
Dizzy, but still there Seeker heard Rynn gathering them up to some sort of plan a bit off from her and Shiann and the injured pegasi. She nodded as Rynn spoke about the large white bear. Strange, yet not so much to unnatural was this white star-beast. Her stomach turned watching the beast who was obviously judging their group with a feral intelligence. Trying to hide the fear she focused back to the two mare's with her as Persephone stood, bloodied and hurt, but she stood. The injures brought a warm sadness to Seeker as she looked to the smiling Shiann. She too was not top notch but it had been so much worse on that bloodied night where rhey had made a bond that would never break. Seeker returned her smile. Rynn had come to them and told them their part. Worry filled the feelings she had fluttering for Shiann, worry for Shiann? Yes, and herself and Rynn. A mutter, in which all she caught was the name of who had died that night. Cassidy. Seeker's multi colored eyes grew darker at the thought of that and the sinking darkness she felt when she thought about that night threatened to engulf Seeker. Stamped a hoof she chirped her agreement to the plan.
"I will be right with you Rynn!"
Shiann would protect the injured. It brought Seeker strength to think of the fear ridden mare from the blood night now strong to help others. She would never feel so proud. Taking a precious minute as Shiann had set up in front of Persephone, she side stepped and nudged the neck of her friend, almost nuzzling. Seeker was not exactly known for her touchy feely but something was warming in the mare having Shiann around.
"You've got this"
Seeker whispered and then was gone. Following Rynn and the others to bounce off the dark bears and get at the big white beast. Already the hired horses were after bears who had targeted them. One charged to a heavy hit, then the other darted towards the white. A kick here and a kick there, harassing a brown off of the others and finally reaching Jinxx who then screeched pain as the smell of blood filled the air. It made Seekers already befuddled mind glaze again. This one was harder to shake but she got there. Snarling her teeth she side stepped the white bear and nipped at his hind quarters and tried to gain his attention from the one called Jinxx. Looking at the other bears to make sure they were leaving the others be, for now hey were. Grinning with a detachment that could make someone dangerous she latched onto a hind leg and began to pull backward. Her hooves scrapping up earth. The polar bear roared and tried to turn and tug his leg free. She would not let go. Looking up at Rynn she screeched as much as she could with a mouth of fur.
"Rynn!!! Now!"
It was a small opening, but it was something. Seeker had got the polar bear from attacking Jinxx and struggling to get to the agile Seeker. It would only last a moment but the bears neck was twisted and gave a great impaling spot behind the ears. If only they could get here in time.

R Y N N ❦
The unicorn mare could hardly push off the bear before Seeker was off to attack the polar bear. With a look cast back at Persephone, apologetic of what they'd be forced to do to the large bear. She turned back, frizzy and wily mane flopped past her eyes, tangling in her face. It obscured her view for a mere moment before she could see the horses battling the polar bear. She darted towards it as well, dodging other bears, but not their claws. It was with a mighty swipe that one of the younger animals caught her flank, giving her four long streaks, where blood quickly formed up and began to trickle down. Rynn was caught off guard and pulled herself from their reach in an instant, doing a half hop as she favored her left hind leg. The roar of the polar bear dispelled her pain and the mare, blinking away the tears that were forming, faced the beast and the horses attacking it with conviction. It turned, huge body as fluid as it was clumsy. Dante struck with measured blows, Jinxx perhaps more erratic, but with as much power and skill.
Seeker antagonized the animal and pained it with her own well-timed attacks. Behind her, Shiann protected the pegasus, the only one completely useless at the current moment... Rynn. The cream and bay mare almost crumpled under the pressure, again feeling the same fear she'd felt months ago. The terror of being against a force that seemed to great to disrupt. It was Seeker who screamed, "Rynn, Now!!!" The mare's voice snapped something inside Rynn and the cream instantly barreled forward, forgetting the pain in her hind leg, forgetting the terror she'd just found so paralyzing. Her front legs lifted off the ground just barely in the lunge she made for the spot cleared. Her black horn cracked through the bear's vertebrae. The sickening crunch and crack sickening the unicorn mare, and likely all those around her.
She felt like she was burning. It was not with adrenaline, however, but the blood of the Ursa Major. Though often rapidly cooling, the mare's closeness to the head, and the quick flow of blood that seeped down her horn burned down her muzzle, and she screamed. A horrible sound, like her heart was getting twisted. She pulled away, albeit messily, and stepped back. The bears around the scene were quickly retreating, upon seeing the huge polar bear stumble only momentarily before thumping to the ground. A sound as loud as thunder to the sensitive unicorn. She ducked her head to the red stained snow, rubbing her burns in the cold down. With a sigh she looked up, skin red and burnt, fur missing from patches on her muzzle. Her eyes, while they shone with tears, also glittered with relief.
"We need to help Persephone, who is skilled at medical aid?"

Jinxx | Vagabond | Mercenary
In an instant, the bloody battle was over. The bear collapsed to the ground, his white fur a deep contrast to the now blood red snow. Jinxx sighed, giving herself a few moments to breath as she lowered her neck. Blood seeped from her chest, trickling like a stream. The polar bear had taken out a hoof sized chunk, which burned. Still, she just squeezed her eyes and willed herself to 'not be a fucking baby.' Her body was covered in claw marks and various scrapes and scratches, the most noticible ones being the deep teeth wounds on her hind leg, and a deep puncture wound just to the side of her left ear.
Finally, she glanced over at Rynn, slightly dizzy and in alot of pain but she would survive. Still, she wondered how the others would fair. Dante seemed to be a bit better, or so she hoped. Rynn seemed both appalled and releived at the same time, which baffled Jinxx who, although tired, could have danced with joy had she not have been in imense pain. Still, at Rynn's words she remembered the worst injury of their group. The pegasus, Persephone, stood not far away now, Shiann beside her.
"I do!" Jinxx called out, her voice ragged as she ungracefully walked over toward them. She assessed the mares wounds, the worst of them being four deep, jagged claw marks on her abdomen. "I need something to clean this, does anyone have alcohol?" She asked. It was a stupid question, perhaps snow could work as well, she thought to herself. "And i need some fabric to wrap this up with, it has to be clean!" She said, barking orders as she put cold snow against the gaping wounds, hoping to assuage the sting.

Persephone | Vagabond | Bard Black spots started appearing in Persephone's vision, and it seemed like everything was fragmenting. One second Shiann and Seeker were beside her as she stood up, and then she blinked and Seeker was gone, and the painted mare's eyes locked on the sight of Rynn's beautiful, wicked horn spearing the lead bear's body. Persephone blinked again, and the rest of the bears were gone, and she realized she was swaying on her hooves. Below her, the snow was gradually growing more red as her blood dripped determinedly from her wounds.
Blink.
Now Jinxx, who Persephone would've swore was pretty far from her, was suddenly beside her, barking questions to the others about alcohol or fabric. Why would Jinxx need alcohol and fabric? Once again, Persephone's vision swam, and her wings fluttered in an attempt to steady herself.
"It's okay Jinxx. I'm fine, really. I just need to lay down for awhile..." her voice was soft and even through the pain, Persephone leveled her icey eyes on the other mare and tried to give her an encouraging smile. The bears were gone, so surely Jinxx should smile. Their worries were over now.
Suddenly, snow was packed onto her stomach, and the cold seemed to jolt Persephone out of the shock. Pain rippled through her again, and now she bit back a pained whimper as she actually felt it course through her. Though still unsteady on her hooves, Persephone stood still, figuring she must look quite the sight. One of her wings was hanging slightly limply from her side, she had claw marks on her face, claw marks down her legs, and the claw marks on her stomach. Even through the snow, everything burned. And even still, Persephone felt such sorrow for the bear that lay dead, and the many others who were no doubt seriously injured.

Dante ~ Vagabond ~ Mercenary Dante was panting as the leader finally fell. His whole body was dripping with blood and sweat, even in the freezing temperatures. Dante was prepared to turn for more fighting, but it looked as though the other ursa majors had given up and turned tail.
The stallion slumped to the ground, rolling around in a light patch of snow. The ground was slowly being stained red, but he was cleaning up pretty well. Dante then stood and gazed at the corpse. He considered taking something of it as a trophy. But, he decided better of it. The mares would probably look at him with shame if he were to do such a thing. So Dante returned to the group.
He shook his forelock from his face. Dante carefully scanned the group. So many injuries and so much blood, but no one was dead. He turned to Rynn with almost-cocky looking grin on his face. "Nice job, Rynn. That was real damn impressive." He dipped his head to her. Dante slowly trudged over to a nearby tree and sat down. He just needed to rest for a while. "I think we all did a pretty great job. All of us coulda died out there, but we didn't. You bunch of mares are a lot cooler than I thought you'd be." He laughed teasingly, but he meant every word.
