It wasn’t unusual for Lucrezia to go wandering away from the cultist camp. She wouldn’t be able to spread Digend’s seed if she stayed there all the time!
Lucrezia knew that it was dangerous for a Vagabond to wander close to any towns - especially in Onea. Raiders did not take kindly to vagabonds, no matter if they were friendly or malicious. Lucrezia had been taught this early on. Her mother drilled the idea into her head until it was no longer an idea, and instead, became an instinct. However, there were times when that instinct failed her, and Lucrezia found herself just a little too close for comfort to civilization. It was in those times, when her better judgement failed her, that she was reminded of just how horrible the raiders were to deal with. What was that old saying? Curiosity killed the cat?
Lucrezia had come too close to a farming village, intrigued by a merchant who had a shipment of baked goods from Valore. Raiders were immediately upon her, chasing her out and pursuing her to the edges of Onea’s vast forest. It was easy to get rid of them once in the forest - but she did not allow herself any rest until she was certain that they were gone.
The chase had left Lucrezia feeling exhausted. Although still feeling weary of potential raiders, she believed she was in safe(ish) surroundings, and therefore allowed for some relaxation. She was not in a rush to return home, though she wondered if her mother questioned her whereabouts. She slowed her pace until finally she stopped and leaned her weight onto a tree.
“Curse those raiders,” she muttered under her breath.
