It was a hot day in the middle of the summer when Milo decided to abandon his life the Isles of the Dead and join the Vagabond group he had heard about from some trusted traveling merchants, The Freedom's Flight, in their quest to free the Pegasai trapped in Torrine and destroy the Talori's traditional views. Just the thought of anyone supporting a murder and thinking it divine made his skin crawl. Equines really were unbearably primitive in some ways more than others, it was about time the barbaric herd joined everyone else in the seventeenth century before it turned and left them behind in the dust. Not that Milo had much of a problem with that.
The flight to the Barrier Mountains wasn't a difficult one for Milo, he was used to the tropical heat of Aquore and saved his energy by gliding on headwinds which were thankfully in his favor. Finding this group proved to be a bit more challenging, and as it turned out they were the ones to locate him before he even knew they were there. After an evaluation by the Inner Circle, he was allowed to join them. But there was much that needed explaining, life in the mountains wasn't something you picked up instantaneously and Milo needed to hear information from the Flock itself rather than just rumors spread by old pirates. The young stallion had been told that a mare named Izel would be accompanying him for awhile and although he wasn't one to socialize, he liked the name and hoped he would like the mare as well.
On the top of a small plateau he waited for her, the wind flowing through his wavy mane and feathers. The view from this high was beautiful, but not anything he wasn't used to. Milo stood absolutely still with his wings a quarter of the way outstretched, just to feel the powerful wind buffet his feathers. His brows were furrowed and his eyes slightly narrowed against the now almost setting sun, but despite his expression he was at peace...for now.
