Nefertiti | Breim | Echo
The lanterns that illuminated the caverns were brightened as the clocks rang out the first hour of morning. The distant bongs of the clocks tolling seven, which was about the beginning of sunrise over the land that lay above them. There weren't many skylights in Nariah, so the warm glow of fires had to light the expansive cavern that the horses called home. It gave a homey feeling to the city, which gave even most outsiders a feeling of ease and comfort when exploring. The sounds of equids moving through the market place filled the morning air, venders setting up their stalls for the day and early birds moving through to see what there was going to be for sale today. The smell of fresh baked goods filled the caverns are the first batches of breads and sweets were being made, causing quite a ruckus at the different bakeries doors as horses lined up eagerly to wait for them to open.
A silvery-gold mare emerged from the doorway of the inn she had stayed in the night before, yawning as she walked out into the streets, her polished hooves clicking on the stone cave floor as she moved towards the smell of fresh baked goods. She was looking to treat herself this morning for being up and about early with something filled with jelly, particularly apple jelly, as it was her favorite. As she moved through the first few stalls of the market she slowed her pace as some boldly colored patterns caught her eye. It was a vendor from Eithne, and he had vibrant reds and blues, and tons of gold that lined the fabrics. They were stunning and looked so soft, as soft as rabbits maybe.
Coming to a stop she found herself almost in a trance-like state, observing the yards of both veil-like and thick fabrics. She so desperately wanted to reach out and touch them, but she feared their prices would probably give her a heart attack if she asked. And still she stared, longing for the fabrics to magically, and freely, wrap themselves around her. It was a silly dream, but that didnt make her want them less. Her voice perked up as she saw the vendor smirking at her as if she were a child witnessing magic for the first time.
"Good Morning." Her voice sounded embarrassed as she was now trying to shake herself from the stupor the fabrics had put her under. "These are lovely." She added, before looking at the vendor, blushing slightly and lifting her head a little to hide her shame.
The unicorn that was in charge of the goods gave a small laugh, and his musical voice returned the 'good morning' to her before smiling up at his own fabrics. "Why thank you, I made them myself." He added to the mares compliment, picking up a roll with his telepathy and laying it out on his table. It had blue and gold swirling together as if it were made of fire, and sparkled in the firelight. Nef's Peridot eyes widened at the material as they sparkled with the curiosity of a foal. "This is my favorite." The stallion spoke, holding it up to show that it was halfway between thick and thin, allowing the fabric to breath better than most. That was it, Nefertiti was lost in the stitches of the fabric.

Little Bird | Vagabond | Vindicator
She awoke to the distant sound of the clock as it sounded seven times. After years of having to wake up early in the morning to either train or make sure she was securely hidden in whatever land she found herself in, Little Bird rose fresh from a good night's sleep. Her lips grazed across the slumbering stallion's cheek that laid beside her as she lifted her wing gently from his side. Her brown eyes looked down lovingly at her boyfriend, Dionysus, before she ventured to the bathroom to freshen up for a day at the market. It had been quite some time since she had ventured down to the large market to see what the vendors had for sale, and she was itching to find some good deals on things she thought she might need. After living with Diony in the big city of Nariah for years, she had found that shopping was one of her weaknesses. Something about seeing all of the beautiful items for sale after weeks of hard work away from home was appealing to her (even if the old generation of Breim wasn't usually all that happy to see a stranger in their midst). Over the years, they had grown more... tolerant of her presence, though it was mostly just ignoring the fact that she was even there. Little Bird never minded though. She wasn't there for them; she was there for the love of her life. It would be nice to actually have some friends in Sirith though.
The roan pegasus walked out of the library that she called home and stretched out her wings before she tucked them closely to her sides in order to keep anyone from accidentally getting hit by them. The lanterns and glowing crystals that lined the walls of every building lit the way to the market where she found that quite the crowd had already gathered to see the morning sales. Her eyes sparkled with curiosity as she walked around the stalls that the vendors were beginning to set up. Everything that was being placed out was beautiful in their own individual ways. There was everything from food to drinks to clothes to jewelry, and Little Bird found herself captured by everything that she laid her eyes on.
She eventually made her way to a unicorn stallion's stand where he had ornate clothes or every size and texture, and the pegasus found herself transfixed by the variety of beautiful clothes before her. Possibilities of what she could possibly have done with the cloth flashed through her mind. Maybe she could have that cloak made that she had been wanting for so long, but only if the price was right of course. As a Vindicator, she didn't make much money, and she hating using her boyfriend's money to buy things that she didn't absolutely need... but maybe there wasn't anything wrong with treating herself to a little something special.
Little Bird was so caught up in her own thoughts that she almost didn't see or hear the silver mare that was standing beside her, and she blinked away her distracting thoughts to listen in on what her and the vendor were speaking of. Her eyes lingered on the sparkly material that the stallion laid out on the table. The light of the lanterns around them made it almost appear to be on fire. "Breathtaking." She muttered softly, her eyes widening a little when she realized she had spoken aloud. "Sorry, I didn't mean to intrude." Little Bird dipped her head slightly, turning to look back at the fabrics in front of her. She didn't want to seem disrespectful by any means. After all, she was still trying to win over the hearts of the horses in Breim, and she could never be sure how anyone would react to her presence.

The Arabian startled slightly at the sound of another's voice beside here, looking quickly at the mare. She was a pegasus, which was rare to see in the tunnels down here, considering most pegasus didn't enjoy the feeling of being trapped underground. Being from Sterling, she had gained a very open mind from the other horses around her, and so she wasn't like most of the other Breimians, and actually enjoyed outsiders. Her heart sank slightly as the mare apologized for intruding, and a smile crossed her lips as she offered polite comfort.
"No it's okay, It would be hard not to say something. I mean just look at this." Nef's calm voice encouraged her to look at the fabric once more, the unicorn giving a small laugh at her compliment. "It looks like you used fire itself for it, it's amazing!" Moving closer to look at the fabric, Nefertiti looked back to the mare and smiled warmly. "And it looks like it would go wonderfully with your coat! The blues would amplify the cute reds you have all over. Especially your wings!"
With aspirations to design, came having a good eye, and being able to make anything look good on anyone. So Nef knew if nothing else, it would cheer the seemingly timid pegasus up. Undoubtedly she'd probably been handling the Old Generations silent intolerance of her presence, and it was wearing on her. It was the main reason horses tend to flock to Sterling instead, and stay away from the older, more closed minded Breimians. Hell, even she herself, as a Breimian, tended to avoid Nariah unless she became restless or heard rumor of new vendors setting up shop.

Little Bird | Vagabond | Vindicator
She wasn't normally shy or timid. In fact, most would call her quite adventurous and ambitious (after all, it took a lot of courage to follow your boyfriend down into the unknown depths of Sirith to live with him when you knew that the horses of Breim would very likely not like you at all). After the first few days of living here though, she had learned that it was better to shut up here and at least pretend to be a shy, little pegasus and not the strong Vindicator her father had raised her to be.
A smile played across her face though when the grey mare spoke to her, seemingly okay with a stranger's presence. "Very true. It's quite beautiful." She agreed, watching as the merchant moved the fabric to show how the light glimmered off of it, creating an effect close to flickering fire. Little Bird gave the mare beside her an almost sheepish look at the unexpected compliment that had been given to her, and she was slightly taken aback at the sudden kindness. "Why thank you! You really think so though? I've been meaning to get a cloak made for myself, but I haven't found the perfect material yet." Little Bird said, a thoughtful expression crossing her face as she tried to envision herself with a cloak made of the majestic material. It would be lovely to have such a thing.
"How much are you selling it for?" The roan pegasus asked the merchant who looked down at the material as if weighing prices in his head. "I'd take 100 shards for what you would need for a cloak." He finally said, looking at her while she debated on whether or not she truly needed it or had the money for it. 100 shards was quite expensive... but it was so lovely, and it wasn't like she spent her earnings on much else aside from essentials! "My boyfriend is going to question me so badly about it, but if you don't buy it, I don't think I'll be able to resist it." Little Bird admitted, turning to the grey mare beside her with a curious expression. The friendly Breimian had been there before her, so she had every right to the material before herself, and Little Bird wasn't one to be intentionally rude.

Taking a moment to think, she looked longingly at the fabric that laid out before them. The unicorn in the booth eyeing them both up in hopes they would buy it all from him. It was so very tempting, the way it sparkled, the way it shimmered, all of the colors in the pattern. 100 Shards was a pretty penny, and Nef did have the money, but looking again at the pegasi, a smiled cracked her lips.
"How about, I buy the material... But, you shop with me and see if we can find better materials first. Maybe even better colors, though I doubt it." She laughed slightly, looking to the unicorn before moving her gaze back to the pegasi. "And if you're still in love with it as you are now, I'll design a cloak for you from it, no charge for it." It was rare to get her in such a generous mood, but not unknown to happen when the mood hit her. Plus she wanted to help make this mare feel welcome in a very cold environment, and she did not mean the caves. Though this cloak she was wanting would help with that.
"What do you say, stranger?" Her smile warmed up as she looked over the mare. The sun had fully risen now, the bright lights coming in through the few skylights of the large cavern. The lanterns had been all lit and crystals glowing vibrantly, giving the caverns a bright glow. The inhabitants had become slightly more lively as the time had passed, more bakeries opening, and more stalls fully set up. The slight glimmer of more fabrics down the way as they were being hung up, bright colors and tropical prints just screamed Talori at them. Nef's heart jumped as she saw them, as Aquore was her favorite place other than home. But she had business here first, that is if the pegasi agreed to her idea.

Little Bird | Vagabond | Vindicator
Little Bird blinked in surprise, her mouth agape for a moment before she was able to regain her composure. No one in Sirith, aside from her boyfriend, had been this nice to her since she had started living here months at a time years ago. It was surprising to stumble upon a complete stranger who would be willing to do anything for her other than offer a small smile (if they were even friendly enough).
"Wow, I certainly wasn't expecting that!" She admitted with a friendly smile and laughed. "I couldn't let you pay for the material and make a cloak for me too for free, but I would love to take you up on the offer of shopping around with you." Little Bird nodded her head eagerly. It had been such a long time since she had been shopping with anyone, not including Diony who kind of reluctantly followed her around during her little shopping-sprees. It was exciting to think that she might have found someone that would be just as excited as her about objects they found, and she was a designer it seemed too!
"My name is Little Bird by the way. What's yours, kind stranger?" The pegasus mare asked curiously, wondering who this kind Breimian was. If she were a designer, maybe she was apart of the New Generation's Makers or Echoes who seemed to be more interested in learning more about the outside world than the rest of Breim. "Are you a designer? It seems to me that you have quite the eye for beautiful fabrics and what colors and patterns would work best for a horse's coat colors."
Her eyes wandered over to where the other stalls had been set up during their stay at the unicorn stallion's stand. She could see the different fabric materials and artifacts glimmering in the beautiful, glowing light of the lanterns and imbued crystals, and even the sun was peaking into the massive cavern through the few skylights that could be spotted in the city. There was hope yet that they could find something truly unique and beautiful here at the market, and perhaps they'd both go home with more than one or two things after a day of shopping.
