Ezmeralda | War-Forged | Herder
Her hooves tapped a happy beat that added to the rhythm of the music. Oh why hadn't she ever done this before? She found herself lost in the joy of it all and feeling so free! A smile appeared on her face as she moved to the upbeat sound that the band played, letting her long tail sway freely behind her. For once in her life it felt as though she didn't have to worry about what others thought of her or worry about where she placed her rather clumsy hooves (though she made sure that she didn't knock anyone off their hooves by accidentally swinging herself into them). Ezmeralda wasn't sure why dancing would make her feel any different about herself and what was going on around her, but if she had to guess, it probably helped that she was with someone that she trusted.
Despite the fact that the sun was going down and with it the temperature around them was steadily growing colder, Ezmeralda didn't find herself getting cold. Moving to the beat of the music and watching her friend dance along with her was making her heart flutter quickly in her chest. She could feel the bitterness of the cold against the warmth of her pelt and shivered each time the cool breeze blew through the town square.
As the music slowed, Ezmeralda came to a reluctant stop, her mind still buzzing from all of the excitement and fun she had had. A small sigh crossed her lips as her green eyes sought Muiris's warm brown gaze. The silence that filled the air meant the night was drawing to a close, and Ezmeralda found herself wishing that it could last even just a little while longer. It was during her wishful thinking that she began to notice Muiris moving closer toward her. Each inch that he drew closer, she felt her heart clench tighter and tighter in her chest, and when she felt the feeling of his warm muzzle on her cheek, it made her stomach twist in nervous giddiness that left her wishing he wouldn't stop.
A sigh almost escaped her as he took a step away, his hooves moving across the stone road. Ezmeralda offered him a small smile before saying, "I-I'm glad you had fun too. It's been a long time since I enjoyed myself like this. T-thank you." She muttered, shivering slightly as the cold wind blew against her warm pelt. "I'm sure my sister didn't mind handling our stand. She's left me high and dry plenty of times. It was my turn." Ezmeralda assured him jokingly with a soft giggle.
The paint mare stood in the town square for a moment, watching while Muiris unraveled his hair and began walking away from her and into the night. 'Have a good night.' She heard him say, causing a warm smile to grace her normally nervous, reserved features as she replied. "Goodnight, Muiris."
