Naida - Priestess - Post One
Naida's morning was a simple affair. First, the black horse washed her face and hooves, to clear out any left over tiredness from the night before. Then, she spent probably half an hour combing out all the tangles from her mane and tail. Following this, the still-sleepy creature stumbled towards the kitchen to grab a bite to eat, her stomach rumbling with anticipation at the thought of a good oat cake or some fruit. Finding half a tray of strawberry pastries left, the Priestess snatched two and called it a day. As she walked along, Naida tried to eat without causing too much disruption. She didn't want to be seen as rude, after all, crumbs dripping down the front of her. That would not fit such an esteemed position, no, not at all. But she was hungry, and a simple horse, so she simply ate hastily to avoid any unwanted attention.
The temple of Cascade was gorgeous this time of year, thought the black horse to herself, as she headed for whatever tasks might need attending to this early in the morning. Her day would be full, she was just sure of it, but at least now she had a couple moments of peace to simply...relax, and breathe. Of course, nothing would stay that way. But for now, it was all right.

Gemstone Breim - Umare Uncut Gemstone had never actually prayed to Cascade. It had occurred to her on many occasions that perhaps she should be praying to the Goddess of Healing considering her Grandmothers permanent position in the hospital, but for some reason she felt the healing Goddess wouldn't hear her. She grew up praying to Argus of course, but also to Kaia and Alya sometimes. Digend was among the newest she prayed to, thanks to meeting with Asylon's representatives some months prior. The Restoration Deity had never heard her voice, and the filly couldn't be sure the Goddess would even want to answer if it was even in her power. Those blessed by Cascade did all they could to keep her Grandmother healthy and comfortable, and the girl felt it was finally time to pay her respects. And maybe start adding the water god to her daily prayers.Gemstone was aware that the temple of Cascade was often used by those needing a breather, supposedly one of the best places to relax. The child preferred the warmth of Argus' temple, but today she sought this new change. Digend was about change, right? Perhaps that strange, new God would approve of this choice. The girl briefly paused at the large wooden doors decorated with intricately carved visage of the Sea Goddess. She swallowed nervously before she pushed through the doors, thanking the deity for entry. There were few others occupying the temple's prayer room, a few to the right in what she figured was a tea room, and the left some kind of study. Gemstone steered clear to allow them the peace they deserved, passing through on light hoof steps towards the sound of a fountain. She would find a place for herself to connect with a Goddess she had never prayed to. She did not recognize anyone, not that she was really looking for familiar faces, but she figured her confidence might boost a bit if she had. What if the sea deity didn't even want her there?Sighing to herself for having such intrusive thoughts, she shook her mane and stepped out of the prayer room to where she caught sight of the fountain she had heard moments before. The statue was that of Cascade wreathed in water, gentle rivers bubbling down the marble surface. Below the falls rests a pool of water, where another horse slowly stood and pulled their hooves from the crystal clear liquid before moving back into the prayer room, leaving the area deserted. Off to the side stood an inconspicuous well chiseled with instructions. The girl neared, reading the intricate writing that indicated that each equine was to purify their hooves if they were to connect with the Goddess in this way.Seeing that this was the perfect opportunity for her, Gemstone cleaned her hooves using the liquid from the well, ensuring not a speck of dirt was left. She had no intention to climb into the pool, so she just assumed the same position the horse before her had. Slowly lowering herself to the ground, the filly dipped her hooves into pond. The sound of the fountain was gentle in her ears and sent a wave of calm through her. The girl sighed once more."Cascade...I wonder if you can hear me..." The youth spoke softly, hoping she wasn't too loud for the other patrons. |

Naida || Priestess || Post Two
The temple really was beautiful. But the black horse couldn't focus on that, as she wandered through the halls that made her home. There were a few patrons here already, some that she knew well. But one coat, spotted black and white, stood out to her. Frowning slightly, Naida stepped towards the horse, ears perked. She could hear them mumble something to Cascade, and the black horse took a step back, realizing that the newcomer was already deep in prayer. She wanted to say hello, but she wouldn't dare think to interrupt someone in the middle of their personal contemplation. So she stood back, waiting for the prayer to end. Naida briefly hoped that she didn't seem too...out of place. An odd thought, for the Priestess herself, but she felt strange just...watching the creature pray. So she turned away, making herself busy for a few minutes. She could say hello when the girl was done praying. That would work fine. Yes, that was settled then.

Gemstone Breim - Umare Uncut It was so easy to pray to Alya and Kaia, and Argus was the easiest one of all. Ignacio was easy not to pray for, for the God of Fire was not one to be prayed to. But Cascade...why was it so difficult? Gemstone wondered if it was her feelings of worth, or lack there of, in regards to reaching Cascade. She never prayed to the Water Goddess before, and though she hoped desperately the Goddess would hear her, she wasn't confident.
Was this how Magnus felt that day she met him in Argus' temple, she wondered? Or anyone who wasn't particularly pious to any God but sought counsel regardless? Were the Gods willing to hear them?
Slowly, Gemstone drew her hooves from the pool of water. Maybe she was too late to try to get into the good graces of a new God. Digend seemed to be more than willing to hear whatever the horses of Breim, but they were also new to Breim. Cascade had been prayed to for centuries, and Gemstone had the feeling she should have come the moment her Grandmother entered the hospital, not many months later.
Folding her long, rounded ears back against her head, the filly rose from her position with her eyes still casted down on the water at her hooves. She had never felt so isolated before, so unwelcome. She was usually able to keep her anxiety under control, but she felt too out of her element, so much so, she couldn't even draw upon her blessing. She wished Tama, Kei, or Chime were there to comfort her, to encourage her to try harder, offer her support.
Slowly, Gemstone turned away from the fountain, but not without one last glance towards the beautifully carved face of the divine figure. Maybe she needed to start of slow. Maybe that was the issue. She was rushing too fast. Yeah...maybe that was it. She didn't even hear Argus until recently, let alone see them, and she prayed to Argus every day for as long as she could remember. Feeling slightly more hopeful, Gemstone took a few deep breaths to settle herself; there was till hope with Cascade, she just had to trust in that hope.
And she didn't notice that Cascade's Priestess was only a few feet away. |

Naida || Priestess || Post Three
Naida watched as the creature pulled herself back from the water. A frown crossed the black mare's face, as she stepped forward, clearing her throat to make her presence known to the other. She waited for a moment, then decided that it would be wise to go ahead and speak, lest the black horse look a bit...odd...for making herself known and then not...actually...saying anything.
"You seem to be having trouble, my child," Naida said, smiling over at her. Her voice was husky, deep, belying her job. But as Priestess, and a Briemen, her ideas of who she wanted to be were up to her making, and no one else's. So she didn't mind the deepness in the timbre of her voice. It was comforting to her, to be honest.
"What brings you here, to the temple?" She inquired, raising a brow ridge at the other horse. "I hope that you do not need to seek healing for anyone."

Gemstone Breim - Umare Uncut The girl hadn't expected to meet anyone at the Temple. Most horses came and went at their own discretion, though she remembered how she had given Magnus advice when Chime decided to bring the two together. She couldn't blame his pestering today as it seemed she caught the eye of Cascade's priestess herself. Her heart sank, wondering if she had done something wrong at the fountain at first, but it appeared her lost demeanor wasn't as internal as she hoped. Folding her long, rounded ears back sheepishly, the filly extended her right hoof and bowed deeply, respectfully. She rises a heartbeat later, but wanted to ensure the priestess recognized her respect for her superiors.
"They have seen us meet." She speaks softly as to not disturb any other horses in prayer. "Forgive me if I am intruding...I have never sought Cascade's council before...though I recognize I probably should have." Her emerald eyes carry deep seeded pain, longing, and regret. "Unfortunately...that is why I am here. My grandmother was injured sometime ago and has been in the hospital ever since. She lives, but she cannot do much on her own, and I have been training under the Watch for a while. We lost our family inn because I can't take care of it myself." The girl pauses, wondering if the Priestess would react badly to what she was about to say. "I have always prayed to Argus. I was even Blessed by Them. Growing up, I also prayed to Kaia and Alya, thanking them for my safe birth. And with the recent partnership between us and Asylon, I have opened my heart up to Digend as well. But...I never had a reason to pray to Cascade before. She wasn't a part of my normal prayers. And I regret not adding her to my daily prayers, because I wonder if that's why it feels...strange to be here..." Gemstone trails off, averting her eyes. She takes a shaky breath, "I'm sorry...I feel really terrible about this. I shouldn't need a reason to pray...I should have just done so..." |

Naida || Priestess || Post Four
The black horse's blue eyes grew hazy with emotion as she listened to the young filly's tale. Shaking her head, she tsked slightly, careful to keep her voice low so as not to bother the others who prayed here. "Well, Argus is a fine and powerful creature," she said, nodding sagely as she spoke. "But all the Gods...have...merits," she added carefully. Some gods were not revered here, and she didn't want to give the impression that she was a follower of those who were not at the top of the list. "But each has its own...charm," she shrugged.
"I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother," she sighed softly. "That must be a difficult burden for you to carry, with her unable to do much," she stated softly. "But...I hope that Cascade will show herself to you...somehow...so that you may feel at peace here," she added with a soft smile.
