Shay|Aodh|Gentry
Shay did as Caron instructed, willing his orbs of light into positions behind some of the stained glass so that they reflected on the floor like spotlights. He wasn't sure what to expect from their illusions, but the grand spectacle that Caron summoned up left him slack jawed and his eyes shining in awe. Seeing Caron bring Moira's stained glass to life and walking about to get people's attention focused on her, he doubted he'd have thought of something so beautiful, and he thought of himself as a clever colt. He did his best to commit the image of the stained glass royals to memory, he'd want to draw that later. He caught the flamen looking over at him and he smiled back with a nod, noting the sadness in her eyes. He took a step back when she started speaking so as to keep people's attention focused on her and not the other equine who'd gathered by the door.
As he listened Shay found himself forgetting, for the moment, about how outside there weren't just the bad storm, he forgot about the patrolling chevaliers and the weird colors and was comforted by the flamen's offer of safety. While he was sure Eleanore would have something to say about it, for his part he wasn't too fussed about possibly hunkering down in Azar until the storm ended. He remembered that he was among friends here, others who thought similarly to him, that had been at the Goldhead several weeks past. He tilted his head to the side, wondering about the implications that Alya was behind the storm. What would she be doing creating such a horrible storm above the city? And for what reason, when her people were working so closely with Ignacio's now.
When the speech ended Shay smiled at Moira again, before heading back over towards Eleanore and Tate. He chuckled at Eleanore's objections, outfits were such a small concern considering what else was out there. "I wouldn't mind staying here until its safe Ele. There's good company and good food to be had, and I'm sure if things stay bad enough that sleeping one night in a sanctum won't hurt anyone."
Except fate seemed to really want to prove him wrong.
He was waiting for a moment where he could tell Tate about the chevalier's outside, he would swear he could still hear them between the rumbles of thunder. Feeling the rumbles vibrate the sanctum itself, if he was outside he'd surely feel the rumbles deep in his chest too, but he still didn't hear any rain. Shay leaned over to whisper in Tate's ear, low enough for just him to hear. "There's some Chevs patrolling the Artisan district, we'll want to be careful going home tonight I think-" he trailed off as a new sound joined the cacophony of sounds the storm was already making. Shay looked up towards the windows that showed the sky, squinting, was that a roar? Surely nothing would be out flying in this weather, it had to just be some weird thunder to add to the already strange storm.
Then the second roar, screech, and the thud of something very heavy landing on the top of the building. Something very big and very heavy. Shay's wings flared out in fear, what was a wyvern doing here? Was it that new wyvern that there had been rumors about? He had a moment to see the shadow of something behind the window depicting King Mishal before the sound of shattered glass sent him right to Eleanore's side, a leathery dragon wing stretched protectively over the older slave to protect her from any possible shattered glass. He looked out through the broken window, at the violent storm outside, and he breathed hard as he fought to reign in the fear that continued to creep through him. That wasn't just any wyvern.
"Its Sola." he breathed, watching the eye that peered through the cracks in the building. He took several deep breaths, it was going to be okay, this was bad, but it was going to be fine, everyone here was going to see the next sunrise. He repeated this over and over to himself as he looked around, trying to find where Moira was. Taking a moment to make sure Eleanore was unharmed he said to her "Stay close, I don't know how much further this will escalate and I don't want to be separated from you."
Carefully he pulled his wing back and quickly ran over to Moira.
"What should we do? Do we need to move somewhere else in the sanctum? Tell me what to do and I'll do it, I want everyone here to be safe. I can make myself really bright with my light, if we need a distraction." He had to stop himself from saying more at a rapid fire pace, and channeled his excess energy from the adrenaline into shuffling his hooves.

POST 4 | WC: 504
This was going to hell in a handbasket rather quickly. Moira held the door shut as the stomping hoofsteps of Chevaliers passed by, and faded away, and Eliina instantly felt panic rear its ugly head. They were heading in the general direction of the Goldhead… where the leader of this movement was meeting with supporters tonight.
Where Phoenix was tonight.
Fear coiled in her gut for her newest slave, who was dressed as a symbol of House Xoias tonight. If she was caught… her House would pay dearly. Closing her eyes for a brief moment, she prayed to both the Smoldering Sun and the Earth Mother, to keep Phoenix safe and away from the Chevaliers.
She turned to Moira, then, pitching her voice so low that only Moira and Pyre could hear her. “I think our friends at the Goldhead may be in trouble,” she said, the panic she was feeling showing only in her eyes. “Do we have anyone that could send a message? A familiar, perhaps?”
Her planning was interrupted by the roar of thunder- although it wasn’t like any thunder that she had heard before. Following it was the crash of something heavy landing on the Sanctum roof, and she looked up in terror.
There was only one thing big enough to cause that loud of a crash.
Her eyes tore away from the roof to watch the shadows twist and move outside the building. She saw Mishal’s portrait darken, then shatter, as rain and wind tore its way into the building. She was far enough away to avoid most of the glass, but it now crunched underhoof, adding more noise to an already clamorous night. She saw a piece of Mishal’s face nearby, and with a small bit of joy, “accidentally” stepped on it. He had hurt her family so much- let her return the favor.
Still, as the reptilian eye lowered itself down, the pupil narrowing as it peered inside, she felt terror rise within her- almost enough to make her hurl. By the gods, these wyverns were terrifying when you knew they weren’t on your side. Save us, please, she prayed, not caring who heard. Hell, she’d take a bit of help from Alya now, if it meant that this beast would leave them be, and not fly to the Goldhead.
Ignacio, save us, she thought, as she mustered up her “angered Eminent” persona and strode towards the window. “What is the meaning of this?” she cried, her voice only slightly shaking. “We are simply trying to shelter from the storm here, and now you’ve ruined our shelter by letting the rain and wind in. Go bother the King; leave us be.”
She was probably two seconds away from being eaten, but she stood firm. She didn’t let herself think of burning flesh or sharp wyvern teeth- if she did, she’d faint on the spot. If she didn’t get eaten- which was the result she really hoped for- she could collapse in a corner later.

Suzan Aodh - Servile Slave Like Aerynn, they, too, were praying. The sky might be Alya's domain, but Lightning was Ignacio's. Ignacio wouldn't let lightning strike this building, he would let the storm harm them, they were sure of it. They had to believe it, for that was all they knew how to do. They had to trust in the God they were raised to respect, to worship.Suzan was pleased to learn the name of the one they had offered the treat too; Dom. That was a nice name indeed. "You're welcome!" Suzan dipped their head to the chestnut, hoping that the sweet helped even a little bit.Delta turned to them, and Suzan looked up to the grey mare. A game sounded like a really good idea, not only a distraction, but something for them to do. Suzan liked art, but they didn't quite grasp the complexity these particular pieces held, or their symbolic meaning."Okay!" Suzan chimed in, turning to Aerynn with a smile. "Let's play! It will be fun!" They tried their hardest to reassure their charge, flicking their fins. With Aerynn in tow, Suzan followed Delta's lead and copied her. Snorts, tail swishes, pawing the floor. Yes, this was much more fun than standing around, scared. This was fun! They had to make the best of their situation, and what better way than with games? But the games could only distract so much. The thunder was still there, and what sounded like marching came and went. A window rattled in it's frame, reverberating due to the acoustics in the building. Suzan fought to ignore it, fought to keep their eyes down or on Delta's movements, but the lightning, bright and orange, caught their eye.A shadow?Thunder, no...a roar?Something heavy fell onto the roof, and Suzan bucked."What was that!?" They squeaked, turning to push Aerynn closer to Delta. Eyes swept to the windows again, another flash, than shattering glass. Suzan let out a little shriek, but it died in their throat at the sight far above. Something gold, like a giant snake, pulled itself out of the window and disappeared, revealing the ominous sky beyond. Then an eye. Suzan swallowed, their eyes wide, terrified. They knew very well what that was, and they were not at all happy."S-S-Sola..." The foal pushed against Aerynn and Delta, shivering. What on Hireath was Sola doing here? Wide eyes turned to Eliina who shouted at the wyvern with a bravery Suzan didn't quite expect. At least someone was saying something about it. |

"It is my pleasure," Lux said, dipping his head slightly to Angeliqué as Sereya finished the introduction. He was perhaps less interested in the introduction and more so in the distraction it offered the teens as he cast his eyes back in the direction of the Flamen, trying to gauge if something was truly up. Or at the very least something significant. "Do you study anything in particular under Flamen Euonia?" he asked, looking back to the pair.
As the artworks sprang to life, Lux flicked an ear. A part of the exhibit perhaps? It was certainly a striking display but... as Moira began her short speech he began to doubt that. His expression slipped into a slight frown, suspicion crossing his face briefly before he recalled himself. He was not quite in the habit of masking his emotions completely, but he was cautiously aware that he had young eyes looking to him. He had no desire to give either youngster cause to speculate more than what was already going on.
As Moira spoke, Lux couldn't help but wonder if he was adding a layer of meaning to her words that was not there. A storm? Was it really something so simple? It seemed a lot to be offering refuge within the sanctum for just a weather event, even if it were torrential rain. The air had been dry for so long, maybe it really was just the weather breaking.
He couldn't hear any rain though. A dry storm?
"I want you two to stay where I can see you for the time being," he told the fillies after Moira had finished speaking, glancing around the room as whispers rolled around and sparing a look for the bodyguard of Sereya's that was still nearby. "Until we know more of what is going on." Something was most definitely up.
And that something made itself quite apparent very quickly. Bordeaux let out an indignant shriek as something thudded on the roof and Lux jerked his head up to look, to focused on the immediate to be annoyed by the phoenix adding to the tension. The glass shattered, the eye appeared, and almost automatically Lux had stepped between its line of sight and the fillies. Paternal instinct perhaps he wondered, slightly surprised by his own reaction for he knew he was not typically the protective, selfless sort. Or maybe it was a strange sense of self preservation against Rosalba's wrath? He could only imagine her reaction if something happened to her last daughter and she found out that he had been there and done nothing. "You certainly picked an interesting night to go out," he said lowly to Sereya, a dark amusement to his tone.
He found himself oddly calm in the face of Sola, which a detached part of his mind found quite odd. There was a horse-eating wyvern peering in and he wasn't panicking. How strange. It wasn't that he was unafraid, he could feel the tension throughout his body, the instinctive drive to survive ready and waiting to spring into action and yet... he was in control. It was strangely thrilling, this rush of adrenaline.
The strange ambivalence of stress and calm was swiftly shattered as a horse.... an envoy decided that aggression towards Sola was warranted. He knew horses could be irrational in panic but to screech at a dragon was not so much irrational as it was suicidal. That it was coming from an envoy as well was just the icing on the whole debacle. Her first instinct was to antagonise? What a suitable reaction to stress that was to have in a foreign diplomat, nothing like a little irrationality to add spice to political discussions. He certainly wouldn't be giving her any recommendations after this, if she survived.
If any of them survived.
He turned to Sereya and Angeliqué, tone firm. "Stay inside," he told them, concerned they may be about to try and make a break for the door. Shock might be holding a lot of horses in place but that was likely going to break very soon, and horses were likely to bolt for the door and even if Sola didn't get them outside, a stampede might be enough to. "And keep your heads."

The artisan listened in rapt attention to the flamen's announcement, sipping idly on her wine. So, Alya had summoned some big storm, and from the lightning, it seemed Ignacio was taking part as well. Sounded like heading home until it was past was risky, lightning could be very dangerous when not controlled or properly redirected. She looked down sympathetically at Mickaiah, and shook her head.
"If it was just rain and nothing else I'd have no problem with it. But with the heat and the supposed strangeness of the storm at hand, I'd rather you stay here, I don't know what I'd do if something happened to you on the way home. You're welcome to stick as close or as far to me as you like though, if you're nervous, but if we leave the sanctum I'd rather it be together. These walls are just as sturdy as the forge, we'll be fine."
She took another sip of wine and gave Mickaiah a reassuring pat on the shoulder, she hated to order him around, preferring him to be able to tell her no if he didn't want to do something, but she didn't want to risk anything happening on a night like this, with all the rumors swirling around. She smiled at Asalah, nodding her head.
"Yes, lets enjoy ourselves more, until the storm passes and we can go home." She cast her eyes around the artwork as she raised an apple to her lips and bit down on it, crunching as she followed her friend around, making sure to keep an eye on Mickaiah to maintain a read on his mood. She smiled as she saw some of the children beginning to play a game together. Sure the thunder was shaking the building and she could have sworn she was hearing marching hooves, but that was all outside. Outside where the mood was far more cold and tense, not inside, here there was a semblance of peace.
Moonrise frowned and craned her head towards the windows when the first roar happened, finishing the last of the apple she'd picked up. What was that? She was about to write it off as thunder reverberating strangely through the sanctum when a second one came, and then the thud of something very big and very heavy hit the top of the sanctum.
"What's-"
There was a shadow over the window, and then the window shattered as a large scaled covered tail crashed into it. She was shielded from the debris by the sudden appearance of Asalah's force shield. In the surprise, Moonrise's hooves erupted in flame momentarily, before dying back down into sparks. She hadn't been this close to Sola since she'd been down below the pearl, and she was really not a fan of this second encounter.
"I much preferred seeing her when she was asleep I think." she said aloud to the others around her. She kept her teke wrapped tightly on her sword as she stepped closer to Mickaiah. "You know I wish I'd have just let us leave earlier, I'd much prefer the storm over the king's wyvern."
Moonrise watched as Envoy Eliina began yelling at Sola. A bad idea for sure, but she respected the gusto she had to do that.

DELTA Aodh | Labor Slave
Thunder blasted above the Sanctum’s roof as otherworldly colors and shadows played on the stained glass windows. She could hear the wind howling outside, the rattle of an old window as the storm tried to penetrate the shelter. Then, a small voice, carried only by the gusts of Alya’s wings reached her ears, “ Mamma! There’s a big shadow in the sky! It's gettin’ closer!” came Jeremy’s shouting. Delta felt her pulse skyrocket and adrenalin raced through her, “ Mamma it’s landing on the pretty glass house!” A window above them shattered, raining hundreds of shards of glass across the guests within the Sanctum. Her response was a reflex and a well taught one. Her forcefield snapped into it’s full diameter, spanning all things within fifteen feet of her, “ EVERYONE DOWN!” she shouted, her voice echoing around the large room. Delta pulled both children close to her with her teke as broken glass bounced off of her shield. She looked over to where she had seen Taffy and his children, “ Taffy!” called the dappled mare, the unspoken, yet urgent beckon to get beneath the Force Field. She weakened the walls, but kept the domed roof solid. It was suddenly loud with the sounds of a storm. The roar of thunder and gusts of wind tore through the building from the large shattered window. She watched as a reptilian eye peered into the Sanctum. Sola. The dragon was on the roof?! Her gut twisted with hatred and small flames rolled off her back and shoulders as thick black smoke and crimson embers twisted from her nostrils. Shouting grabbed her attention and she looked over to see Eliina all but telling a Dragon to piss off! Delta tugged at the children gently with her teke, “ C’mon, we’re moving. Stay with me.” At a steady walk, Delta moved the Force Field across the floor. Bits of glass were pushed out of the way as the dome slid over the smooth stone tile, “ Envoy!” she called, “ Envoy Eliina!” The Unicorn mare didn’t seem to hear the labor slave over her own rant. Delta held the kids away from her body. She bared her teeth, her body erupting into a mass of solid, dark red flames, as the Force Field surrounded the darker horse, “ Envoy Eliina! With all due respect, I'd much rather not have another building fall on me! Continue to antagonize Sola and it’s her head that will come through that window next!” her voice was warped, deepened by the fire. She knew she had no right to give the unicorn an order, but someone had to make her stop! “ I apologize for my tone, but please! Enough!” huh. That came out differently. The voice that left her sounded... Afraid and desperate… and angry all at once. She wasn’t afraid for herself. Not by a long shot. She was afraid for the people. Delta released the flames with a deep exhale, turning to Flamen Moira, whom she was now much closer to, “ The Shield is open, your Grace, I have enough room for a few more bodies,” she told the older mare, “ But might I respectfully suggest we find some other place to gather? I doubt this Sanctum was built to withstand the full weight of a Wyvern for very long. If she decides to leave, the roof may very well go with her.” WC: 570 Post: 7
Delta is directly interacting with Taffy, Aerynn, Suzan, Eliina and Moira. Her Force Field is UP and surrounds a fifteen-foot radius. Anyone who would like their character INSIDE the dome is welcome. No outside Blessing can touch the ones inside the shield and Blessings like Tremor Sense and Sixth Sense are BLIND to the occupants.

Gallus Aodh | Pit Slave talks to; melisande While the conversation dwindled away from the Mistress, Gallus felt anything but upset about it. For a few tranquil moments, Gallus enjoyed the artwork around him. However, the thunder outside grew louder, and it was becoming hard to ignore. Then, a roar. The whole building was starting to shake.
Gallus was put on high alert, the old combat weary horse easily going into a defensive state. His first thought was to protect his friend, but he was nowhere to be found. Hopefully, he was safe. His next best choice was to protect the lady next to him, but he knew not where the threat came from - until the glass came raining down from the window.
He instinctively moves between himself and Melisande, keeping his head low and his ears pinned back. He'd never fought whatever the hell that thing was.... but he wasn't going to risk the life and limb of the horses immediately around him if he could defend them.
"Stick with me, Mistress. I don't want a hair on that pretty head of yours getting hurt." Gallus's tone was rough, but surprisingly firm and commanding - especially for a slave.

M E L I S A N D E "All I ever wanted was the world."
Post #6 | 439 All had been calm amongst the idle chatter, like the surface of placid ocean-water whilst turmoil bubbled underneath. It only grew and grew, the tension getting so thick in the air that even Melisande found herself shifting and fidgeting uncomfortably, tossing glances to every corner of the sanctum. The instinct that writhed in her chest screamed that something wasn't right, and Melisande knew well enough not to ignore her own gut feelings.
She had a single hoof raised and mouth parted, all too ready to announce her departure when a heavy shudder from the building stole the words from her lungs. Melisande peered up at the ceiling with a suspicious squint, thoughts racing. Was that...? No... It couldn't be...
And suddenly; a shower of prismatic glass, falling through the air like lustrous shards, sharp edges glinting in the fire-light of the sanctum. But it was the metallic golden tail that snagged on Melisande's thoughts, completely unable to look away.
Sola.
She had been a mere few windows down from the shattered one. Melisande would be sure to thank her lucky stars tonight, assuming she didn't get gobbled up by the king's wyvern that was literally here, right now.
Movement at her flank finally broke her out of her trance. Gallus had stepped infront of her, a reassuring buffer between the danger and herself. She nodded firmly at him, knowing the fighter had far more battle prowess than she. Relief coursed through her adrenaline-filled limbs. "O-of course. Thank you, Gallus," Melisande found herself saying gratefully albeit shakily, though her next words were cut off as the envoy decided it was time to shout at the wyvern. To treat such a regal creature with such disrespect? Oh gods, was it going to burn the whole place down in offense now?! The labor slave seemed to think the same, though Melisande noted with a raise of her brow that she was awfully mouthy.
"Brave as it may be, let us please try not to incite the wrath of a giant wyvern. I have seen the destruction such a creature can bring... But why in the world is it here?!" Melisande questioned to the horses gathered about the sanctum, speaking in a hushed voice so as to not rouse the attention of the beast. "If we are to leave, what if it pursues us? I'd very much prefer to not die tonight."
Her memories circled back to the day the great wyvern had destroyed The Pearl; there was nothing stopping Sola from doing the same here. Melisande wanted nothing more than to flee...but she had to keep a calm head.
This was bad.

Sunny had been both momentarily soothed and startled by the appearance of horses made of light, and from Moira's announcement. They'd be safe here, surely. She trusted Moira and she trusted Ignacio.
Not that that was going to stop anything from happening, apparently. The marching sent anxiety coursing through her veins, and her shoulders twitched. We're safe here. We're safe here. Everything will be f-
The roar followed by a flash of orange nearly sends her reeling. Please just let it be some illusion, trick of the storm. She looks towards where Misti had gone, and her legs are shaking. This wasn't an illusion, not a trick of the light. The sky was angry, furious, and it was alive. The screech that follows is enough to make her look up, and the window that shatters sends glass raining against her coat. She yells, scrambling backwards away from the tail as it leaves, and notices that the sky was discolored, unnatural and frightening. The eye that peers in sees right through her and she wants to huddle behind Moira, get away from the predatory eye seeming to scan the room. She's truly scared, frightened for her life. A part of her was glad she hadn't brought Andromeda, but another part of her regretted it deeply.
Her body hurt, stray bits of glass having hit her as they fell. She staggered a few steps back, murmuring quiet desperate prayers under her breath. She's too scared to move anymore, worried that this wyvern... this beast... was going to blast the entire building with fire. She couldn't do anything but wait.

For a few moments, Pyre dared to hope all would be well. Even though the guests seemed (rightfully) uneasy, no one dared to leave. Small blessings. She strained to hear the marching pass the sanctum. Wherever their destination maybe, Pyre felt eternally grateful she was not there. She let out a small sigh of relief all too soon.
That was no thunder.
Pyre winced as glass shattered and rained down on those below it, its image but a mere memory now. The true colors of the sky paled in comparison to the massive eye that looked down on them.
Sola.
Brave little Aura hissed at the wyvern, even if she did try her best to hide behind Pyre’s candles. Where were those Chevaliers? She’d take them over the wyvern in a heartbeat. At least they wouldn’t look at her like a snack with the history to support such intentions. Hopefully, hopefully Sola would take off again, and they can chalk this up to passing curiosity. If only they were so lucky. It seemed someone else had very different intentions.
“Envoy Eliina!” Pyre called out, much louder than she intended, but she was furious. She took a deep, steadying breath.
“Envoy Eliina,” she repeated, her voice eerily calm and sickly sweet, “May I ask, what exactly do you think you’re doing?”
Pyre stepped forward, standing just a bit taller.
“I cannot begin to understand why you believe antagonizing Sola, and putting everyone else in this sanctum in danger, is such a good idea. I sincerely hope you do not employ such rash and reckless tactics in your work. To have a labor slave scold you and be correct is, frankly, pitiful. I expected much more from you.”
Pyre tore her gaze from Eliina to glance at the others. They were understandably shaken up, and no doubt the envoy’s little outburst only served to terrify them even more. She could feel her own fear clawing at her throat, threatening to shut her down and bring her to her knees. Pyre looked to Eliina again, her gaze all cold, carefully restrained fury.
“Now, this may not be my sanctum, but if you continue to pose a threat to the safety of those taking shelter here, no matter your intentions, I will escort you out of Azar personally.”

A N G É L I Q U E a sanctum attendant of Oralee 'When I grow up, I wanna be famous, I wanna be a star, I wanna be in movies...' ......
Sereya held back, and so did Angélique. If her friend thought they would be safe, then fine, she'd stay. No matter how curious she was! As usual, Sereya was quick to return to formalities, drawing Angélique's dwindling attention back to the stallion. "It's my pleasure, Advisor Lux." She dipped her head, folding her forelegs into a brief curtsey. The Advisor's question was polite, and with the tension of the Sanctum, Angélique could tell it was small talk. But that was fine, she had enough to say to fill the evening. "Oh yes. I am particularly interested in religious history. Quite fascinating really. Ignacio's presence in Aodh compared to the rest of Hireath alone is so interesting." She left it there for a moment, her ears twitching at the rumbles outside. It was silly really, she knew they were safe enough inside the Sanctum, but the sounds felt closer than before.
Moira's voice drew her attention, and she turned to listen to the Flamen. Her warm words and reassurances brightened Angélique's mood. Of course Azar would be safe and secure, especially with a Flamen such as her in charge. Her worries practically melted away. She looked over to Sereya, jovially grinning, "Must just be a storm then. Aha, to think we were so worried." She sniggered. Lux spoke, and Angélique nodded, smiling kindly. "Of course, Advisor. At least we can see all the best works from here." She looked back to Sereya, mouth half open to speak, when the rumblings outside cut her off. The thunder sounded more distinct...less far off and more animalistic.
The hairs along Angélique's back rose, and alarm now read clearly on her face. "Reya, what was that?" She murmured an instant before a heavy crash sounded from the roof. The movement from the roof had Angélique backing up against Sereya, pressing close to her friend. "What's happening?" She mewled, uncaring of how juvenile and terrified she sounded. Glass shards flew across the sanctum, skittering across the marble floor. The lithe golden tail that whipped into the sanctum made Angélique's stomach drop. No, it wasn't possible?! Why? Worse, an eye took the place of the tail, and the fearsome snarls from earlier were clearly and distinctly coming from that wyvern. Sola.
"Sereya!" Angélique quivered, hiding herself against her friend. She realised, with surprise, that the Advisor had taken up place between them and the creature. She looked up at the back of the stallion, awed by his bravery to defend them. Her minute sense of reassurance vanished at the shrill voice of someone challenging the wyvern! What was she thinking?! Angélique looked passed Advisor Lux and saw a dark unicorn standing brazenly before Sola. What an idiot! Didn't she know she was just enticing the wyvern and practically telling her to barbeque them all! "What's she thinking?" Angélique snapped at Sereya, "She's going to get us all killed." The last few words came out as high pitched squeaks, and the attendant found herself nuzzled in as close as she could get to Sereya. Just as the thought of fleeing arrived in her mind, Lux turned to them and instructed them to remain. Her legs trembled, but Angélique had to admit to herself, no one could outrun that thing if it really wanted to get to them. She nodded firmly at Lux's last instruction, taking a deep breath and lashing her tail to try and calm down. Keep your head, keep your head. She was afraid, but as she watched the Envoy she was at least glad she wasn't recklessly terrified.
The rising vitriol against the Envoy was echoed within Angélique herself. She felt the adults had subdued this 'Eliina' enough to not pipe in, but she did murmur, "Too right." To Sereya. Flamen Pyre especially remained cool and collected, making her stance quite clear. The resounding calm headedness grounded her in that moment, and she could feel her trembles start to fade.

Aerynn || Eminent || Post Eight
For the moment, Aerynn was happy to play with Suzan, following their lead as the two foals mirrored each other, prancing and pawing in the room to try and keep their heads on straight. But their merriment was short-lived. A few moments later, Delta was yelling, and everything was chaos. The window reined down, shards of it falling around the foals before Delta managed to get her force field up, protecting them from anything else that might fall from the sky. Sola was unknown to the little champagne Eminent; he'd heard his parents talk of her, but never seen the creature for himself. Other than the promise of his own pygmy dragon if he was good, he'd never been close to even chatter about a Wyvern. And yet, there was one on the roof.
His heart was racing; fear, strong and staunch flooded Aerynn's little system, gluing him to the spot. In fact, he didn't move at all until Delta and Suzan began herding him closer with teke. He felt its gentle touch on his hide, and broke out of his trance, moving to follow them away from the tail of the great beast far above, which could shatter down more glass any second. Hell, she could burn them all, and only Caron would be left standing that Aerynn could see. The thought sent a horrible shudder through the stallion's spine. Pressing close to Suzan, he tried to keep back a flood of tears.
But he was unable to hide them all. A few strays slipped out, darkening his cheeks. He wanted his fathers, or to be home safe in his bed. What had been an evening of merriment and joy had turned into one of fear and distrust. There was nothing the Eminent could do. His blessing was far too weak to be of any good here; he couldn't even make a shadow puppet on the wall, let alone slip away with the darkness! Besides, Flamen Moira said they'd be safe here. Did she know that Sola was about? She couldn't have. He was confused, little Aerynn, with thoughts flowing through his head like water, and his heartbeat racing in his ears. He was shaking as he moved out of the way with the others.

Misti || Palasa Flamen || Post Seven
Misti was going to see what Flamen Moira had it in mind for them to do, but they never got the chance. Before they had a moment to figure it out and head for their destination, there was a huge rumble of...not...thunder? Something was off with the sound. And then, the beast was on the roof! Misti's heart was in their throat, and Minty clung tightly to her master's neck, tinkling worriedly. "Yes, hush," whispered Misti in a terrified whisper. They couldn't tell what the faerie was saying, but something along the lines of words that they dared not repeat was their guess.
And then the window came down. And all was a blur of light, color, and the storm outside. One of the Eminents that Misti remembered was suddenly standing up to the beast...admonishing a Wyvern for ruining their shelter! How could the creature be staunch enough to do so, Misti was totally uncertain. They certainly wouldn't try it. From the corner of their eye, however, they saw Sunny standing in place, looking stock still...and...was she bleeding? Misti's heart leaped, and the Flamen ducked their head, bulldozing their way over to the paint mare, leaving Moria and Caron alone. Since the horse had crossed some of the distance to Misti, it wasn't but a few steps to get to her side.
"We need to move," Misti snapped, trying to sound calm and collected...and failing miserably. Their eyes were wide, and their nostrils flared as they nudged Sunny carefully, trying not to injure her. "Come on, let's go!" They demanded, nodding across the room to where Delta was throwing up what appeared to be a shield for the rest of the horses. "Follow me."

Dominosteine || Gentry || Post Seven
(Description of injury below, FYI)
Dom was just beginning to relax when it all went to hell. Their ears flattened to their skull, as in Taffy's embrace, they heard the roar of thunder that wasn't quite thunder outside. What could that possibly be? It sounded close to thunder, but...different in a way that the chestnut couldn't quite put their hoof on. Was it something different than thunder in actuality? Was it the weirdness of the storm itself? They were about to find out. With a terrifying WHUMP, the thing landed on the roof. Dom felt their blood turn to ice, and their heart begin to pound in their chest. What in Ignacio's name could possibly have landed on the -- and then Sola's tail came crashing through the upper window. Dom shuddered, ears again falling pinned, as the glass began to rain down in dangerous shards. It was beautiful, if not terrifying at the same time. Dom found some momentary wonder in the shards as they caught the light, falling to earth in deadly daggers.
And then, searing pain. Dom couldn't help but to cry out, their voice weakened by agony as they fell to their knees, eyes shut tightly. They had slipped from Taffy's embrace the moment that one of the larger shards landed on their neck, slicing a few vicious marks into the flesh. They could feel the warmth of blood running down their neck, but it didn't help the sting from the shard of glass, which now lay - abandoned on the floor. Pain rocketed through their body, kicking them into overdrive. Dom wasn't sure what to do next, but they knew they had to do something. So, on shaking hooves, they stood, looking around as best they could with the ache in their neck. Chunks of their precious, messy fluff of mane fluttered down from where the hair had been shorn, landing on the floor next to the glass, but Dom couldn't care less. They were still alive, thank Ignacio, and that was what mattered the most.
"Dad, I'm all right," Dom squeaked out, turning with a wince to look at Taffy, who they were sure would be worried about their child.
Dom dipped their head - wincing at the pain and fresh blood it caused. "Thank you," they murmured, eyes wide. "You've kept us all standing and alive for the time being," muttered the horse, their tone almost ominous. What did Sola want? And why was she destroying the sanctum that offered them shelter? Dom wasn't sure, and it terrified them to think of what the cause for Sola's arrival might be. Would they all be all right? Well, other than some injuries here and there, at least? Dom wasn't sure, and found that thought terrifying, to say the least.

Caron "Now the Fire and Wind guide me to Freedom."
Post 7 | WC 488 Caron gave a slight hum as Misti glanced back at them. - They had to admit, they still found it strange to be the object of someone's attention. They nodded as Misti made mention of it being a good idea for them to keep others in, but nodded over to where Delta was with most of the children present, starting a game with them. "I… do believe Delta there has it handled, Flamen Misti. Though perhaps something for those a bit older would be appreciated?" They mused, nodding their head towards Angelique and Sereya near the middle of the room.
Chiya's talons gripping their scales a bit tighter as thunder - No, that wasn't thunder. It was something else. "What's…" the mumbled, and then the building shook.
Caron looked up, startled as a window shattered.
"...Is… is that Sola..?" They asked, uncertainty twinging their voice as they watched the chaos unfolding due to the wyvern's appearance.
Chiya let out a chirp, flexing her talons to ground Caron as electricity sparked around their hooves as they gazed up.
A breath. A second. Electricity under control with a third breath, as Shay rushed over to them, asking what to do, while Eliina went and yelled at the wyvern. The mare was crazy, and that was Carons definitive opinion of her.
They took a breath, glancing to Moira. "...I will be back shortly, Moira. I need to fetch one of my things so that I can help stop glass from raining down on others if she decides to shatter another window…" they spoke quietly, swiftly, before stepping away from them at the door, quietly slipping off to a different room for a moment, to where their dark clock was stashed for the event with their bags. Chiya chirped soothingly in their ear as they pulled out the small dagger that Ignacio had given them, taking a breath as the gazed at Amund's sapphires, unnaturally smooth.
Caron smiled slightly as they held the sheathed dagger in their teke, feeling it thrum in response. After a moment, they decided to grab their bags as well. While there wasn't much, they did have some medical supplies tucked in them, which some might need… and so they returned to the main area of the sanctum, seeing Delta now talking to Eliina, a forcefield shimmering above them, and Moira and a few others with its range. They glanced over, seeing Misti having gone over to Sunny - the mare bleeding, and so Caron walked over to them first, setting their bags down near, fishing out the supplies and offering the items to them. "I'll admit I'm not the most skilled at administering aid, but I do carry some supplies with me… you never know when it may be needed, after all." They said, though really all they had to over was a bit of gauze and wrapping to secure it. At the very least it could stop the bleeding.
Taffy "And the world tastes good, Cause the candy man, thinks it should~"
Post 8 | WC 229 "Alright Dom." Taffy chuckled a bit, nuzzling his son's head to reassure him.
When Delta asked if he could make sugar cones, he gave a nod. "Of course I can. I'll get started on that in a minute." He smiled, as she started leading the two younger kids around in a game.
When the roar came, he glanced at the roof in a bit of concern. "That was… strange for thunder." He mused to himself.
And then Sola landed on the roof. Taffy held Dom close, an attempt to shield the boy from harm - which failed as glass sliced his neck just before Delta's forcefield covered them again, Taffy extremely concerned as Dom fell to his knees. "Dom, it's alright, your okay, no, don't move your neck that much." Taffy breathed out, reaching down to help him back to his feet, before glancing around the room, barely noticing as Dom made his way closer to Delta in a search for some sort of medical attention for Dom, before following over, glancing to where Tira had been - glad that the younger had been out of the splash zone for the raining glass.
He had yet to notice the golden, reptilian eye peering down at them, until he glanced up after he had calmed down. "This… this was not what I had been expecting, tonight…" he mumbled to no-one in particular.
OOC: Caron spoke to Misti, Moira, then Misti and Sunny! <3 Taffy is mainly talking to himself and Dom, but anyone's welcome to respond to him!

Asalah | Armiger
“I think staying in from the storm is smarter anyway. A little bit of rain wouldn’t hurt of course, but it’s safer out of the streets and in the warm sanctum.” Asalah chimed in after Moonrise, lifting her drink up for a sip. She smiled warmly and continued to admire the work, her mind slowly easing out of the worry as she relaxed just a little. The wine was working, if only slightly, to take some of the edge off.
However, the night’s entertainment didn’t last for long.
Admittedly, Asalah had expected it to happen. As soon as she heard the glass shatter, her shields were up, the barrier stopping the glass in its tracks as it tumbled to the floor. She shared a glance with Moonrise before she turned her attention to the scene before them.
She wasn’t a fighter. She didn’t want to make waves and cause insurrections, at least not any directly tied to her. She had never intended to hold a sword or shield in her life and that still held true even in the midst of war. She had no idea of the events happening at the Goldhead a few blocks away. If ever asked, she would probably remember Rita mentioning that there was something Aleksei had planned, it was part of the reason she had managed to come along, but otherwise, she was in the dark, which was probably for the better.
Quietly, she looked up. “Well, this seems about right.” She said wryly as the dragon’s eye peered down into the room below. “I agree, we should’ve left, at least then we wouldn’t deal with this.” Despite her fears, Asalah’s voice was strangely calm as she quietly turned to assess the rest of the room. There was another horse with force fields, a horse yelling at the dragon, and a few others out and about that were reacting and actively worrying over the threat. No injuries, good. Shay also seemed to be in good shape despite everything.
Slowly, she rose her voice up above the fray. “Anybody who is injured, come to me. I’ve got room under my shields if anybody needs it.”
4 | 360
Asalah is directly talking to / is with Leonides, Moonrise, Mickaiah but is addressing the room at large. She has her force fields up much like Delta, and they are maxed out.
Eleanor - Servile Slave
Glass shattered. Eleanor screamed, life goes on.
Before that point, she had been enjoying the night. Tate had quietly chided her for calling him master, but she had ignored it, and while they both were worried about the storm, she wasn’t entirely paying attention at this point. Moira’s words were heartwarming and had put her at ease enough, though she was still worried about what the journey home was going to be like.
“Yes, at least we’re in here…. It’s not raining yet, but I’m still worried.” She huffed, her eyes trailing over the group of others as she returned back to the artwork. That was all she had to say on the matter, in the meantime she just wanted to enjoy her night. She was not going to sleep in a sanctum?! What kind of monster did Shay think she was?
With that being said, after the glass shattered was an entirely new story. She barely dared to look up. The glass hadn’t touched her thankfully because of the larger draft nearby, but that didn’t protect her from the dragon above.
Dragon?! She barely had time to react, barely noticing Shay was already at her side as she turned to him, concern filling her stomach. As soon as he ran over to Moira, she shot after him. There was no way she was leaving his side! If a dragon dared to swallow him, she was damn sure to jump into it’s mouth beforehand. After all, he had so much to see and do!
Hopefully, it wouldn’t come to that.

= M O I R A = The fire finds a home in me.
WC: 1123 | Post 6For a few, tense minutes, everything seemed to hold in place. Like a rope straining but holding taut, the atmosphere thick but still- nothing worsened, no panic snapped the tension, even though her every breath seemed to creak.
She was formulating plans, mind whirling with ideas and shoving aside all fears that kept trying to interrupt her train of thought.
But they were all scattered to the wind, when the not-thunder roared, and Azar shook down to its bones.
The lights, thousands of candlelit statues of Ignacio and chandeliers, all flickered, the light in Azar briefly dimming to just what came through the windows- eerie green light making the figures in the windows look ghoulish, lightning flashing across their features.
The ground rumbled, a glass window shuddering in its frame, and small things fell- there was the distant thud of candles shaken loose hitting the ground, dust and ash sprinkling down from the high vaulted ceilings.
A glass window shattered, the features of King Mishal falling through the air like rain, and Moira turned before she thought any further, shoving herself over the boy who had just raced towards her, shielding him as shards rained down in a glittering hail.
In her mind’s eye, a stained glass sun shattered, a building fell, and a flame went out.
For a few moments, she heard nothing, nothing at all. The hiss of a fire dying, and then silence like a physical weight.
No, it was a weight, thousands and thousands of tons of rubble up above her, grinding her bones to dust, her last breath crushed out of her before she had time to gasp. Gone, buried and unable to even be burned.
Just like that.
She blinked, and she was back in Azar, but everything was muffled and distorted- light shielded her and she stared at it blankly a moment, unsure where it had come from, slowly dawning that it was a force field as she registered more falling glass bouncing off it with distant plinks, like hail on the roof.
She breathed in shakily, tasting- copper? She’d expected salt from tears, dimly realizing her face was wet, but a gentle probe of her teke found a small gash above her left eye.
She looked curiously at her feet, at the glittering rainbow shards that had made up the visage of King Mishal, crafted in 1585 by Artisan Francis. One had cut her in the face.
How funny.
She turned her head, staring up at the eye that peered down at them like a spotlight, unconsciously turning herself to shield Shay further with her body, like she could keep the wyvern’s gaze from falling on him. She still hadn’t drawn in air- still crushed under rubble- her lungs and heart feeling squeezed in a vice as she stared up at the wyvern.
All she could think in that wild moment was that they were all- quite literally- a breath away from death. There would be nothing Moira could do if Sola decided to blow flame into the hole she created. The force fields in the room would not shield everyone. Everything could go up in moments- countless lives, gone, from the whim of a monster.
She prayed the fiercest she ever had, in that moment, that Sola would lose interest- would turn her head and move on- and in the next thought, she prayed just as fiercely that Sola was not looking towards where the chevaliers marched.
Anna.
She sucked in a sudden, gasping breath, a massive shudder running through her as she stumbled forward a step- and her ears snapped forward the moment she realized there was suddenly a voice.
Raw fear seized her heart. Fear and sudden, adrenaline fueled rage as she began to realize what the words were saying.
The fact that Delta- the labor slave who had been named a murderer- had to scold the Envoy spoke volumes. And Pyre, lit up like a struck match, blazing bright in her righteous fury.
It was brilliant enough to almost take her mind off things, briefly burning the darkness out of her mind, before she sucked in another shaking breath and was reminded.
One breath away from demise.
“Flamen Pyre is kinder then I have time to be to you,” She spoke slowly, her gaze falling on Eliina, eyes as sharp as the jagged shards caught in her hair, glittering in the light. Blood trickled down near her eye, dripping off her cheek.
“I would throw you out to have your political discussion with that thing outside of my Sanctum, where you cannot risk all of our lives, but it’s a moot point considering we all must leave here anyway.” She gave the unicorn a long, level look before turning her head, dismissing her without a word as she switched her gaze out to the countless horses looking back at her fearfully.
“We will leave, quietly, and slowly. Small groups. Help each other, support one another. Are there any injuries? If you can heal, make yourself known. My attendants will help organize into groups.”
With luck, Sola would leave, but even then they needed out of the area- a wyvern sent out without her King surely foretold something terrible to come. Storm or no storm, Azar could not shelter them from Sola setting the block on fire, or rampaging through her Sanctum.
She breathed in, forced her heart to beat again, and turned towards Pyre.
“Will you help me keep them moving and calm? They need your light to follow, Pyre.” She said softly, and for a brief moment, despite the fear still running like venom in her veins, despite her feeling Sola’s presence above them like she perched on her back, she managed a small smile for the other Flamen.
“Are you all right?” She turned her head, addressing Shay, looking over the small figure in concern. She shook her head slightly at his anxious question, but she was still smiling slightly. “You can help most by helping others remain calm. A stampede in these enclosed spaces would surely hurt some people, as well as attract attention from Sola.” She hesitated a moment, glancing to the group around them again before raising her voice slightly to them all nearby.
“I will go out first, just to ensure Sola will not attack the first thing she sees.” She announced, and heard sudden inhales from some of her attendants in the crowd, likely forming breath to offer themselves, but she was already walking to the door.
And there it was again, the choking fear she pushed down forcefully, the reminder that one breath could be the end of everyone in this room.
She pushed it down as far as she could, keeping her small smile fixed in place like a mask, and walked calmly to the doors, her heart hammering faster as she approached, clicking the lock and forcing herself to push both the wide double doors open, staring up into the night in the open doorway.
Breathing shakily, she stepped out first.

Sunny stood, shocked. Her shoulder had a particularly deep cut from the raining glass, and the rest of her exposed coat was littered with various sizes of cuts as well.. At first she didn't realize that Misti was there. Her heart pounded in her ears and she looked around, breathing hard. She was dazed, but still aware. She let the Flamen shepherd her away from danger and towards the shield. Her eyes drifted towards Caron briefly, and she looked down at her shoulder. "Oh." She murmured, swaying briefly. The mare leaned against Misti, and she looked up. Moira was speaking, but her ears were ringing. She shook her head, dipped it politely to Caron at their offering of aid, and continued to follow Misti. She was too shocked to speak, her mouth felt dry and her throat hurt, as if she had been screaming. But she hadn't been. She'd been quiet since the glass shattered.
She looked up to where Delta had thrown up the defenses for the others. Safety in numbers, right? At least she could hope so.
Why was there a wyvern? She vaguely recognized it to be Sola, but didn't know much about it. Was the king coming? Or was something more sinister at play here? She'd heard the marching, and she had a nasty feeling in her gut that sat there uncomfortably. "Misti?" She managed to say finally. "Caron- What's-- what in the world is going on?!" She needed answers, and watching Moira step outside only ramped her anxiety up more.

Keres had tried his best to avoid the raining glass at the start, while also avoiding to look at anyone, eventually leaving him covering himself as best he could. He used his lute as a sort of temporary cover for glass, leaving the instrument with a good assortment of scratches from the glass. Unfortunately before any more protection could be given to him, some shards struck him, leaving a small gash on his face. The blood dripped near his mouth, and instinctively he liked it away. His mind was going crazy with the different thoughts, both not wanting to fall into his bad habits and not wanting to get caught up in the fear of the situation. The struggle for his mental state really came around when he heard yelling from some, feeling as if he was going to shut down and think back to a much worse time in his life- in that moment, he wished he hadn't come here- even if he had seen Gallus, He didn't know if it was worth this much.
With that, he paused, turning to see Gallus with Melisande. He didn't want to intrude, thinking for a moment how it might be a good time for Gallus to act like a hero to his crush- but such thinking left him mind when he heard Moira speak. Evacuation instructions... Organized...Groups. Groups, that word echoed in Keres' head, feeling himself rush over to Gallus without thinking standing near him despite what he originally thought before with Melisande. Quietly, Under his breath he spoke a mantra; "I Don't want to die..." He whispered softly, repeating the words and he quietly tried to keep himself from being more of a bother. He hoped that everything would be okay, He hoped that HE would be okay... Surely he would remember this moment as embarrassing, but now he only cried quietly while sticking with Gallus- feeling both blood and tears fall down his face, a slight sting hitting him as salty tears fell over his small wound.

Gallus Aodh | Pit Slave talks to; melisande, keres | moves towards the door after moira, but not really that far. Gallus was more than a little annoyed at the horse being foolish enough to speak so disrespectfully to the massive beast threatening their very lives. However, horses far more eloquent - and more suited - to talking her down did that for him. Instead, his immediate concern was Melisande, and his good friend, Keres. He was incredibly nervous and he was already trying to identify an exit when Moira commanded them all.
At the mention of Melisande stating she didn't want to die tonight, he couldn't help but reach out slightly and give her a comforting nudge. He simply hoped he wasn't out of line in doing so, and the 'nudge' was a very respectful, fleeting motion of his flank against hers.
"You won't die if I have any say in it," He promised, his voice low and gruff. He turned his attention to Keres, concern and relief flooding his features all in one. Concern at the blood on his features and his scratched lute; pleased to see that he was alright. He quickly ushered him under his metaphorical wing, uttering a few soothing words.
"It's alright, Keres. You won't die. I promise." He murmured, giving his friend a more affectionate - and comforting - nudge with his muzzle. He was sure Keres wasn't used to the sting of one's own blood trickling from them, and Gallus wasn't so cold-hearted that he didn't recognize or invalidate their pain.
"You two, both, stay with me, behind me; unless something attacks from behind. Keres, I want you next to me, and Melisande, I'd like for you to be slightly behind. Um, if that's alright?" He remembered her status and didn't wish to impose, but he also did have the most combat experience ( that he figured ) of the three of them. If things got dicey, he'd do his best to defend them. After all, he'd been training his whole life for this.
"Please," he breathed, adrenaline pumping through his weary body and giving him newfound strength. "Just stay with me. I promise, I will die for you if I need to."
With that promise, he was cautiously leading the group towards where Moira had left, not quite wanting to be first but certainly not wanting to be last either. The sooner he could get them out and away from the danger, the better.

E L I I N A
POST 5 | WC: 605
The anger at her outburst was a tangible thing, earning her the ire of many of her peers. She curled her lip in a snarl, easing back from the wyvern's eye to speak with them, grateful for the Force Field over her, even if she thought it should be used to keep others safe.
Keeping one eye on the beast, she whispered, her voice turning a touch harsh and grating. "I know Sola's target for tonight," she said, her ears pinned back. "Phoenix got an invitation. I will keep her and the others there safe, even if it means risking my life. If they die, this is done for," she said, looking at Lux, Pyre, and Moira, and speaking to each of them. "We have Force Field users here, and others with useful Blessings. Those that cannot protect themselves or serve as a distraction, like I am willing to, can be evacuated quickly and safely."
A snort left her as Pyre's accusation rang out. "Obviously not, Flamen Pyre," she said, looking disgusted at the thought of being reckless as Envoy. "I would never dishonor Aodh or my House by ruining our relationship with our fiercest ally. However, I can see a larger picture here."
Eliina looked around at the building, the stonework and the stained glass. It was sturdier than other locations in the city, and it held the benefit of being a beloved landmark. Isador wouldn't want to destroy it- imagine the havoc that would wreak. She whispered once more to the gathered group around her. "Azar is better suited to defending against a wyvern than the... other location, and the white wyvern wouldn't dare destroy a Sanctum. He is all about image- having Sola destroy a Sanctum, killing innocents and children, would certainly drive him from his perch as equines revolted- not to mention that we have equines able to protect those who wish to leave. We are doubly protected."
She turned to Moira, then, and nodded at her plan. "I would suggest having Delta leave with you," she said, nodding over at the large mare. "Labor slave she may be, but she was a warrior before being culled, and has the Force Field blessing on her side. Take her, the children, and anyone else that is vulnerable with her first."
She gazed up once more at the wyvern, lowering her head to give some sign of respect. She knew that this thing was the King's pet, and she was certainly a mighty, beautiful creature- but her connection to Isador was, frankly, wasteful. So many others deserved a soulbond with this incredible creature before the waste of space and fire that was their King.
She gave a half-bow, not willing to fully take her eyes off of the creature, even for a second. "Forgive me, Sola," she said, meeting the beast's gaze. "I spoke out of turn. I was frightened by your sudden appearance, and I have never done well in thunderstorms."
It was an utter lie- she enjoyed watching the lightning cross the sky, although she was a bit afraid of the thunder that followed. "Please, spare the equines here. We are only trying to remain safe from this terrible storm."
This time, she dropped into a full bow, offering up her back to appease the wyvern. With her head bowed, she was able to twist her face enough to meet the eye of the Flamens, mouthing "go, now" to them as she remained prone.
Ignacio, please don't let me die here.

S I R O C C O "Hit the bottom and escape."
The red mare’s mission would be cut short sooner than she thought it would. She barely caught glimpses of words exchanged between the Flamines and the Chevalier, enough to hint the situation was worse than it was. The presence of Chevaliers nearby only made her skin prickle with discomfort – she knew they were certainly not here to ensure the safety of the people inside. As a former labor slave, she never had much faith in New Valore’s military force – but tonight of all nights, she knew that their presence in the street could not be a good sign. It seemed they were not here for the people inside of the sanctum, at least. Most of them were innocent citizens seeking shelter. But that only left her worrying about Rosalba. She did not know where her mistress was and was certain that if anything were to go down tonight, she would be involved. Part of her worried about Edenne too, as much as the thought irritated her.
She was about to make her way back to the group when she was interrupted by the thundering sound of broken glass. A giant golden tail pierced through the fragile windows. A gargantuan eye peered right inside the Sanctum like it was a dollhouse – and her fur stood on end.
She was pelted with broken glass as she leaped through the crowds, desperately making her way towards Sereya and Harlan. She stopped as she heard the voice of an envoy of all people provoking the wyvern – and fear rushed to her head as she finally reached the group, breathing heavily as she leant against her partner, eyes wide with fear. She carefully watched them one by one, relieved as they all seemed safe and sound, despite the visible look of shock on their faces. She gave Lux a silent, thankful glance – knowing he likely was the reason they were all behaving so rationally.
“Chevaliers outside. Lots of them in the street. They seem to be headed somewhere – I doubt we’re the target of any of this. We need to do as the Flamen says and get out of here. Before someone upsets the wyvern more.” She feared and hoped that the presence of Sola would call the presence of someone else. They would have to wait and see, and try to survive in the meantime.

DELTA Aodh | Labor Slave
When the Flamens didn’t silence her after going off on an Envoy, Delta was genuinely shocked. She was expecting someone to shout at her, tell her to be quiet like a good little slave, or threaten to cut her tongue out like Rosalba had. Yet Flamen Pyre all but sided with her in regards to quieting Eliina’s poor choice. When Moira had spoken, Delta had seen the slightest bit of what she thought was judgement in the dark mare’s eyes. Understandable. Delta hadn’t made a very fantastic first impression and she doubted her reason for being Culled was helping her case. However, that reason came with an explanation, and many didn’t know the whole story. After the Azar Flamen had agreed that, yes, they would all leave the building, Eliina chimed in again, mentioning another meeting at the Goldhead. Her mind flashed to the last time she had seen Runt. Was he there? Was he in danger? If he was, Delta would have to worry later, she had the children around her to protect right now. Then Eliina made another suggestion. That Delta of all people should be the one to accompany and escort Moira, the children and the injured out first! There is no way in the entire Starscape that Moira would agree to that! ‘ Yeah, sure! Let the murderer protect you! That’ll happen!’ she thought, baffled that the Envoy would even think of something like that. Although the same mare did just tell a fully grown Wyvern to fuck off...Something that, if the Envoy survived, regardless of her apology, Delta would never let her forget. She might even share this story with the others in the Dark District! But then… Delta’s thoughts sobered. She turned to Moira, bowing her head to the older mare, “ I understand that you don’t trust me. I have done nothing to earn it… But I can and will protect you and the others to the best of my ability. I want to prove to you that I can be reliable… This is my City too. Despite my anger, I care what happens to the people here. I know not all of you are horrible,” she cast Taffy and the kids a soft smile before turning back as Moira approached the door, “ I can’t prove anything if no one gives me a chance to. So.. I’m asking, please, give me a chance.” She moved closer to the Flamen, prepared to back off if the mare dismissed her. With a baited breath, Delta watched as the Flamen opened the doors to the Sanctum. If she so much as thought she saw armor on the other side of that door, Gods could be certain that Delta would be pulling Moira into the safety of the Force Field. She could ask for her forgiveness later. WC: 479 Post: 8

Leonides | Merchant
It had been a joke, a thoughtless joke… perhaps fuelled by the unrest in the back of his mind. Leonides nearly dropped his second wineglass that evening. He had accepted it from Moonrise with a smile, but they had little time for conversation before Flamen Moira had made her speech. Assuring them all that Azar would keep them safe from an approaching storm. When that storm landed quite literally on the roof of the Sanctum, shattering more than the evening’s peace. “I take one break from work and this happens.” The blond stallion mumbled to himself. At least Asalah was quick to respond and Leonides was genuinely impressed by the healer’s skilful use of her own Force Field Blessing. He was definitely taking her up on the offer of a lesson. He cracked a grin at the wry tone of her voice as they stared back at the coldblooded creature above them. When the Flamen announced that they were to leave Leonides couldn’t help but cock one eyebrow at her candlelit form. Considering the lizard lurking outside it seemed safer to stay between stone walls. Then again, the merchant wasn’t very knowledgeable about Wyvern behaviour. Both his eyebrows rose high as he watched Moira open the doors of the sanctum, unsure weather to think her brave, but certain that he would like to leave as one of the last. “I hope the Flamen knows what she’s doing,” Leonides said, returning his gaze to the drink in his teke. “We could use some help from Ignacio.” He breathed before downing the wine in a single gulp, making sure to set the empty glass down neatly on the table. “In the meantime, I think I’m ready for that lesson, Asalah.” Leonides grinned, creating two disk like forcefields of about three feet each, trying to hover them above his own head and those of Moonrise and Mickaiah. He couldn’t deny that this was going to be an interesting night.

Shay|Aodh|Gentry
Shay nodded. "I'm alright! It'll take more than a broken window to hurt me." He did his best to keep smiling, even though he was worried and honestly, very very scared. He nodded more vigorously when given direction, puffing out his chest just slightly and making his posture more confident. "Okay! Keeping people calm! No problem!" He'd done stuff like that before, but keeping younger siblings calm and soothing temper tantrums was a far different matter from keeping people from panicking when a dragon was attacking a holy sanctum. He stepped away from the flamen as she began walking to the door. Summoning a small orb of light to float around his head he took stock of the other equine around him.
There over in another force field was Asalah, with the rest of the group he'd arrived with. She was telling those hurt to come over to her. He could see at least two others who had been hurt by the falling glass. Running over to the edge of Delta's shield, but not stepping out of it, Shay addressed the room.
"If you're hurt, listen to Asalah and go under her shield! She's got healing regeneration and is a doctor! You'll be safe with her!" He couldn't project his voice with as much power as the adults, but he was doing his best. He summoned a second orb of light to float around Asalah's force shield as a beacon. He'd have preferred it float around her head, but his blessing wouldn't go through the shield so this would have to do.
"If we keep together and keep calm, everything will be okay!"
That last bit was mostly for himself. Being bold and brave in the face of danger was something he was still getting used to.

Tate|Aodh|Smuggler
Tate nodded as he stood along side Eleanor and Shay as the younger returned to their side bearing tidings of the outside world. The smuggler found it obvious that Shay was hiding the truth of what was actually causing the group by the door's distress but didn't want to bring it to Eleanor's attention, which Tate could absolutely agree with. Eleanor's poor demeanor would be absolutely devastated if the news was anything other than a wayward storm, as it was the poor servile slave was far too concerned about the prospect of their outfits being ruined by rain and spending a night in a sanctum. Tate made a noise of discomfort as Shay quietly updated him on Chevs outside. "Hardly good news, considering the news." Tate barely managed to get out before the roar of "thunder" shook the building. At least the unicorn assumed it was thunder. What else could it be?
At the second screech-like roar, thud, and the sounds of shattering glass, Tate instinctively ducked down, trying to get a grasp of what was happening. As he glanced up, he saw that one of the others of the group, or two of the group with the size of it, had thrown up a forcefield around the party attendees. Shay shot out a request for the group to stay close and stay safe, as Tate followed Eleanor and his friend over to the Flamen. "Let me know if I can do anything to assist as well." Tate stated softly, knowing there was little other than directing others that he could do. Being able to meld into his own shadow was a blessing that he had wished to hold a secret a little longer, but he might have to reveal it at this point.

SOLA
Sola peered into the building, and regarded the little vermin scurrying about inside. She recognized some of them – they had been to the Palace she called home. She knew their smell, and their fear, and her blue eyes blazed with hatred. But they were not the faces on her bonded’s mind. These were different critters, not worth her time. Gently, lovingly, she pushed him aside. She would not return before she had done what he wanted done.
Then, one of them spoke to her. Sola sneered, her scaled lips revealing a row of massive, white teeth. She remembered. She remembered the flames, the fighting, the blood. She remembered, a thousand years ago, when her first bonded died in the ashes of a frozen land, her own wings too weakened by the ice to save them. She remembered, and the angry flames within her danced at her lips.
Bonded’s thoughts, louder now. No. She would not live through the loss of another.
Behind her, a screech. Sola turned her head, and saw another pair of wings coursing through the storm. She looked back into the room, at the wide eyes of these traitorous creatures. She opened her mouth, and she breathed dragonfire and cinder. Yellow flames licked through the room, dancing on the surface of force fields. The marble darkened, but held.
Another screech. Sola reared her head, and was struck by sharp claws. Droplets of golden blood spilled. She took wing, jumping away from the roof and taking her course towards the Goldhead.

Asalah | Armiger
Yeah, ready for a lesson was definitely an understatement. Asalah turned her focus on the shield, ensuring everything she had was at maximum strength as the Dragon turned towards the group. "Lesson one, focus is key. The more you concentrate, the better the shield is going to be."
Then the fire came.
Fear blazed through Asalah as bright as the gilded flames that fanned over the shield she held up. Golden blood dripped down from the ceiling, and while she she could smell the burning of paper, she was glad to see that most of the horses that were under both her and the dappled mare's shields were safe. If she hadn't learned to get over her fear of fire from her sister, this definitely would've done it.
"Any horse with burns or in need of treating, to me." She called before glancing at Leonides. "You're doing great."
She looked up, concern rippling through her as she saw the second dragon. "Moira, do you still want us to leave the building? I think we're about to watch a dragon fight go down in our city."
She wasn't sure what to think of the matter, but she wasn't convinced that leaving the building would be wise.

Asalah is directly talking to / is with Leonides, Moonrise, Mickaiah, and Moira but is addressing the room at large. She still has her force fields up much like Delta, and they are maxed out.
Eleanor - Servile Slave
Eleanor recognized the dragon above as she continued to stand next to Shay. She had been around Isador only a handful of times, but she had heard of Sola and the beauty of the creature. She had not expected to see the terror of the creature as well.
Another scream escaped her lips as the fire ripped around them, her mind briefly forgetting that she was safe under the protection of the fields. She felt empty, full of nothing but terror as she watched the building around her burn, the flames dissipating as stone withheld against the heat of the blaze. She glanced at Shay, her stomach churning as she continued to think about what to do or where to go.
The thought of leaving here was... disquieting, but she didn't say anything against it. She looked at Shay, and then at Tate, her throat raw. She didn't want to talk or even dare breath for a few moments, and even then, she wasn't convinced her mouth would work quiet right.
Hearing the second dragon only made matters worse. All she could do was await orders, as she had no idea what was best to do in this situation.

S E R E Y AOf monsters and flowers
Strangely enough, Sola’s deafening entrance did not strike her as deeply surprising. Maybe Lux’s presence kept her grounded, and she was eager to do as the Advisor said. Maybe she had gotten her load of living, breathing wyverns recently, and expected Sola to appear publicly soon considering the recent events. It did not ease the fear, regardless. She jumped with the screams and breaking glass but stood steady on her hooves as she watched the immense beast and could finally get a good sight of the worrying color the sky had taken. She saw Sirocco return with a sigh of relief. But what she shared her bodyguard’s worries – if there were Chevaliers out there, and a wyvern now, it likely meant her mother was in danger. Fear washed over her as she felt herself sinking into the ground, heart pounding painfully inside her chest. She tried to ignore the voice in her head whispering the obvious. Of course her mother was in danger – of course she was likely plotting against Isador right now. This was no time to cry – but the sole thought of something happening to Rosalba sent her mind spinning. She wanted nothing more but to quietly follow the Flamen’s orders and Lux’s advice. But hearing the Envoy talking twice to the beast only made her own blood boil. As she mentioned the invitation received by her slave, something clicked – that must be where Rosalba and Edenne were. Maybe even Euonia. Anger took over her as she trotted towards the exit, wordlessly ordering her slaves to follow her and for Angélique to keep close, hoping Lux would not stop her. Bowing before Sola was not only pointless – but it was also bowing before Isador himself, and she would not stand for that. “ Ah yes, Envoy, a centuries old Sanctum with giant stained-glass windows certainly is the safest of places to hide from a horse-eating wyvern.” She hissed lowly, pupils forming a slit as she watched the dark unicorn. “ I’m sure dear Sola here really appreciates your kind words and will reconsider devouring us alive like she did in the past. Now I do not burn, but you do. I suggest you keep quiet and get out of here before hell breaks loose.” She adds with a sore grin, getting in line behind Moira, soon finding herself on the sanctum’s threshold. And oh, was she right. Her gut instinct was to push Angélique outside as fast as she could, watching with wide eyes the fire pouring inside the building, shielding the other filly with her scale covered body. Flames licked at her flanks and legs as her eyes snapped closed. You do not burn, she kept telling herself. You do not burn, she murmured as she refused to open her eyes and look up, only feeling unbearable heat trapping her. She couldn’t afford to panic this time, no matter how much the feeling overwhelmed her and alienated her. She was soon physically pulled out of the Sanctum by Sirocco- who jumped out of the nearest force field to rescue both fillies. “ You’re fine, Sereya. You made it out.” The mare whispered in her ear, wrapping her neck around the filly. She leaned into the embrace, sobbing quietly as her legs shook violently, threatening to give up under her weight. “ Angie- is Angie fine?” She asked in a trembling voice. “ She’s alright.” Sirocco moved aside, revealing the pale filly behind her, worried eyes washing over the smaller filly’s frame, wordlessly offering comfort. “ Thank Kaia-“ she sighed, giving her friend a weak smile. Her ears perked up as she rose her head to witness a second creature. One that she knew – and did not fear. “Lucius?” she let out, eyes stuck to the creature.

Suzan Aodh - Servile Slave Suzan shut out the adults, many of which berated the Envoy for her actions. They weren't particularly interested in it, as their main focus was ensuring Aerynn was safe.
The raining glass hit Dom before Delta could completely set up her forcefield, the Gentry crying out as the shards left behind gashes. Suzan couldn't find their voice this time to assure the other youth, turning their head away to keep close to their charge.
What a night this turned out to be.
Suzan had experienced hardship before, what with being a labor slave for a month within the Dark District. It was scary, smelly. But they realized very quickly that they would have preferred that situation to the one that was now presented to them. Facing Chevaliers who ordered them around was so much easier to deal with than the idea the Kings wyvern could gobble them up or torch them. And even if none of those were to happen, they would have to deal with Aerynns' fathers. It had been their idea to come out tonight, alone, to get the young Master out of his fathers' hair. To do something fun, visit Flamen Moira, maybe make art of their own.
It was a lot to comprehend for such a young, unexperienced brain. They couldn't wrap their head around the situation, the only thing running through their head that they could understand properly was that 'they were in trouble'.
They remained silent, though trembling against Aerynns equally quivering side, keeping their muzzle firmly planted against the youths neck, their flanks touching. They were aware that the Young Master was crying, and it was a miracle that they had yet to shed a tear themselves. At the very least they had the strength to hold their own river at bay, though for how long, they couldn't be certain.
The Flamen announced they would be leaving.
To go where!? At least the Wyvern couldn't fit through the windows! Outside she could gobble them up!
Suzan gently pushed Aerynn closer to Delta, Dom and Taffy, feeling much more safe with the trio there. Eyes went up to the golden, blue-eyed demon still settled on the roof again. Why couldn't she just leave them alone? Eliina was right in that regard, that she had no reason for coming here. They were looking at art!
A faint screech, somewhat far off. The sound caused the demon to turn away, however briefly, and the child felt a bit of hope swell inside of them. Surely now, Sola would leave.
They were not at all prepared for what happened next.
The demon turned back to them, TO THEM, those beneath Delta's shield. She opened her fanged jaws, and out burst forth a plume of fire.
The brand on Suzan's chest alighted anew, a memory of the pain forcing a choked scream to bubble in the foals gullet. They bucked, twisting their small body, their weight shoving Aerynn closer to Delta, perhaps even under her. The fire and the heat did not make it to them, however, the flames flicking the building but leaving most things untouched save for an unfortunate painting.
The roar of the fire ceased, but another screech pierced the sky. Suzan, whether brave or foolish, peered back upwards with wide eyes. Something landed on top of Sola, shredding through scale and raining golden blood upon them.
Another wyvern!?
Sola was gone, and the shadow of yet another Wyvern could be seen beyond.
They most definitely should have stayed home. |

CW: Brief mention of a burn injury
The evening descended from drastic to nightmarish in moments- Moira's speech was a moment of clarity among the crackling lightning outside, as though shielding them from each powerful strike. As much as Harlan preferred for the young mistress and Sirocco to be back in the safe confines of Rosebriar, the sanctum offered warmth and better company from whatever waited them outside, beyond the storm.
Until the beast's cry thundered through the air, following the barrage of lightning, and the foundations of the entire sanctum seemed to cover in fear. Harlan's heart pounded, drowning out the gasps and cries around him, and when he tried to back up to protectively shield Sereya his legs were numbed.
Thud. thud. thud. Was that his own heart beat or the sounds of the wyvern's colossal wings? In her gaze he felt transfixed, turned to stone, with words nothing more than ash in his mouth. Coward! The voice in his head roared with a fury that he could not muster himself. He had to get Sereya to safety- find Sirocco in the crowd- but all he could do was stare with abject horror at the King's great executioner.
Again it was the flamen's words that instilled courage in him, and the sight of Sirocco returning to his side that granted him use of his legs once more. He sprung to life, like an ancient stone statue awakening to guard its master, and addressed Sirocco and Sereya. "Better to contend with chevaliers than the wyvern-" Much as he loathed the chevaliers, the way their gazes looked past him so easily when he toiled as a labor slave, he could not let anything befall Rosalba's daughter.
He took a position on Sereya's other side, across from SIrocco, as they moved towards the exit. Just let us leave- Sereya has done nothing to you- please. He prayed silently, though the wyvern would not hear him and he reached out to no god in particular, for all but one were absent in his life. And then another howl and the room blazed to life, flames gleaming on the statues casting odd shadows under their eyes that made it seem as though they were screaming in pain. Burning.
And so was he- the long fins of his tail catching the fringes of the flame when he twisted his body protectively in front of those closest to them. No cry came from his mouth, only a gasp of surprise as he stumbled out of the sanctum towards Sereya, Angelique, and Sirocco. The vibrant orange and white patterns trailing on the tips of his fins were darkened, raw, and jagged. His tail thumped limp on the ground behind him and he staggered a few steps forward.
"Sirroco, Sereya-" The title was forgotten in the confusing merging of pain and relief, and he swept towards them. "Young mistress, there are side streets we can slip through. You and your company-" His voice caught in his throat and his head lolled forward, clouded from the lingering pain. "-We're getting you home."
Harlan is outside the sanctum with Sirocco, Sereya, and Angelique.

As the door opened, Delta saw Jeremy peek his small head around it. He must have been hanging from the outside handle. She felt a second of relief before he shrieked, "Mamma, the Shadow!"
The silver mare spun on her heels, facing the direction of Sola. It was enough time to watch the Wyvern's head rear back and blast a hole through the ceiling. Delta's blood turned cold for a moment as she took note of the jet of fire that engulfed her Shield. Sola had aimed at her! Her Shield! The Wyvern was targeting them!
The fire hammered at the Force Field and Delta felt the weight of the blast through the air. She strained against it, fighting the strength of the dragon trying to kill them. She looked around her, at the others. The children were hurt, scared. They didn't deserve to have this threat on their lives so early. None of them did. With herself as the exception, they were all innocent lives…
Collateral Damage.
The portion of the Force Field that was taking most of the flames cracked.
Then the mare became livid. Blinded by hatred towards one source. She wouldn't let this dragon hurt them.
She ignited, wicked purple and blue flames tore down her back. The fire illuminated the inside of her skull, the light shining through the soft tissue. It was a ghostly look, terrifying and furious.
"Not while I'm here, you bitch!" She growled, the crack in the Shield mending in seconds.
Then the fire stopped and her flames extinguished. Sola's blood rained from the hole in the roof. There was another dragon.
