DELTA Aodh | Labor Slave
The unfortunate thing about spun sugar is that it has a tendency to not last for too long. Delta had already managed to finish the kind treat and was now gnawing on the stick like a toothpick. Something to keep her mind occupied as the stallion next to her continued speaking. When he asked her to call him by his name, she nodded, “ Very well… In that case, my name is Delta.” Every so often she would nod her head or hum in agreeance to show she was listening. Jeremy had crawled up her braid and along the crest of her neck, now resting snugly on his belly between her ears. He would yawn occasionally, as he always dozed off after a meal. A familiar grey-brown child caught her eye as he bounced over to her. She gave him a genuine smile as he mentioned her bridle being off, “ Yeah. But it’s only for tonight. It’s gotta go back on before I leave…” she gave him a sly grin, “ However… it does mean I get to do this now,” the mare reached out her teke and ruffled the patch of hair between the colt’s ears, making them flop. She chuckled as he squeaked, “ It’s good to see you too, Young Master Aerynn,” She grinned as another, younger Slave came and joined them, introducing herself as Aerynn’s … babysitter? A foal watching over another foal amused her. She had forgotten how much she loved kids. It was impossible for her to be sad or grumpy around them, “ Well met, Suzan. I’m Delta.” Her smile faltered a bit as she looked back to the colt, “ I… almost didn’t make it anywhere a few weeks ago… There was… I… had a building fall on me.” she explained and only then did she remember that Taffy was still beside her. She looked at the stallion, clearing her throat again, “ Apologies. I didn’t mean to suddenly ignore you. That was rude of me,” she flicked her ear to the boy, “ I’m not sure if you’ve already met, but this is Emin Aerynn. He’s.. one of the only ones in this city I can call a friend.” After the two exchanged introductions, Delta remembered something. She gave Aerynn a smile, “ Hey… Do you remember me telling you I could breathe fire like a dragon? And make a Shield no one could see?” she asked the boy. She leaned in a little closer, taking her bridle from her back, “ I can show you if you hang onto this for me a minute?” WC: 435 Post: 3 Delta is mainly interacting with Aerynn, but is including Taffy and Suzan in the conversation.

Aerynn || Eminent || Post Three
Aerynn giggled as Delta ruffled the fluff between his ears, eyes wide and bright. As Suzan caught up, he flattened his ears with guilt for a second. "Sorry, Suzan," he stated simply, knowing that he was supposed to be better behaved than to run off without them. At least they'd caught up, right? As Delta mention that she'd almost not made it, Aerynn's eyes went even wider, filled suddenly with pain and fear. "Thank Lord Ignacio you're all right," breathed the colt, meaning every syllable with the full fury of his faith. Delta was one of the few in the city who showed him kindness; between her and Caron, he was beginning to learn that maybe the world wasn't so evil after all. Oh, but he had much to learn still.
As Delta mentioned her blessing, his eyes shone brightly. "Oh, please, please can I see?" He asked, bounding up and down in place, grin as wide as could be. "I'd love to." He suddenly realized that he too had been ignoring Taffy, and turned to the shop owner, dipping his head in greeting. "May the sun shine well upon you," he told the confectioner. "I really like your shop, and I'm glad you're here," he told the older horse earnestly. And then, a moment later, he was turned back to Delta. "Let me hold that and you can show me your cool stuff!" He told her, nodding to the bridle with enthusiasm.

Taffy "And the world tastes good, Cause the candy man, thinks it should~"
Post 4 | WC 238 Taffy tilted his head down to the two goals that ran up to the mare beside him - Delta. His heart broke, seeing the brand front and center of one of the two's chest. The poor thing. Though the grey foal did seem familiar, as he started to talk to Delta, about her bridle, and a building nearly collapsing on her! That must have been an awful day for the poor mare, and then, when she apologized about suddenly ignoring him, and with one of the children realizing… He laughed, bellowing and cheerful. "Oh it's quite alright!" He dismissed the apologies, smiling easily between the three in front of him. "Aerynn has been at my shop a few times after all, though not in the company of… Susan, yes?" Taffy hummed with a smile. "Well, Delta… I'd hope that you could also call me a friend as well." He hummed. "After all, we're all equal in Ignacio's eyes. So… Susan, tell me, what do you like? I'll make sure to have a treat prepared if you ever come in with Aerynn to get those Chocolate and Strawberry Cupcakes he so adores." He chuckled with a grin. "And in the meantime, feel free to help yourselves to my work on that table there." He gestured to the still full table of sugar sculptures. "After all, my work is meant to be eaten!" He laughed again, smiling at the two children. OOC: Interacting With Delta, Aerynn, and Susan. The children will have all the sugar.

Suzan Aodh - Servile Slave "It's okay!" Suzan cooed to Aerynn to try to reassure him; she wasn't angry. The foal listened intently as the grey mare introduced herself and then went on about what happened a few weeks prior. It was...shocking, to say the least, that the slave before them had survived a building falling on top of her. Suzan couldn't help but gape at that fact, eyes wide, jaw hanging. "Yes, thank Lord Ignacio!" The child mimicked their companion. Without missing another beat, Delta turned to address another whom Suzan didn't noticed until that moment [Taffy]. They had been so distracted by catching up to Aerynn, and subsequently the grey mares plight, they didn't notice the confectioner.Like Aerynn, Suzan dipped their head, but they made sure to lower it further; after all, they were lower than them, especially their charge. "Suns light upon you, sir!" They smiled brightly, "Yup! I'm Suzan!" They apparently liked telling everyone their name. Falling silent once more, they listened to the exchange between Delta and Aerynn, eyes wide again. Wow, fire? Kind of scary...but if they kept the fire to themselves...should be alright. Right? After a few moments, Taffy asked them what kind of treat they liked. The child felt a little put on the spot, so they quickly picked the same as Aerynn. "I'd love to try one of those cupcakes please! Thank you, sir!" Suzan beamed, then turned to Aerynn as he offered to hold Delta's bridle. "Do you want me to hold that instead? You don't need to be burdened with it Master Aerynn." |

"It really is!" Sunny hummed in agreement, looking back up at the art. She had a sappy thought run through her mind, which genuinely startled her. Misti’s eyes were striking, made even more so by the bridle they wore. She held her tongue, not sure how close she was allowed to get to a Flamen. Her eyes wandered, scanning the crowd. The child she had seen earlier was now talking to the equine that had candy, and her head tilted at the sight of Delta. She was intimidated by the slave, as she tended to be around horses who were clearly stronger than her. But she seemed pretty okay, for the most part.
She cleared her throat though, and looked back at Misti. "I'm glad I was able to make it. If I had known you were going to be here I would've brought those books!" She joked, looking at the Flamen before her. "I'm done with them and I wasn't sure when you'd want them back, so I uh... figured I'd ask now, since we're both here?" Sunny's tail swished behind her, and she briefly fanned herself with her hat. It was more of a mindless action, trying to give herself something to do before she said something silly. "Quite a crowd, hm? A few of them I can recognize from the Goldhead but the others... not at all." She admitted, knowing that there were important figures here that she should recognize, but her face had been so deep in her books that she never really paid much notice. It was something she needed to work on. Her mother often mentioned that in a kind voice, trying to be gentle with correcting her daughters attention issues.
Sunny shook her mane, some of it coming loose from under the scarf she wore, the harness making a small amount of noise that distracted her briefly. I should've brought Andromeda. She's always been good at keeping me on task. She thought, feeling a bit sad that the Furia was missing out. "I like your bridle, by the way! It's pretty." She complimented absent-mindedly, feeling relaxed with her surroundings still.

Keres did not take long at all to notice Gallus' greeting, turning with a large smile and immediately greeting him in return. "Gallus! It's wonderful to see you here as well my friend! I must also say I'm quite glad you're here seemingly unaccompanied..." He paused, realizing the error of his words as they went directly from his head out his jaw. "Uh- not to show any disrespect to your master, it's just...I will admit a bit of anxiety I have whenever I see him." He laughed to try and defuse the uncomfortable words he had let out to the other. In fact, almost immediately he turned back to the art and began to talk about that instead, hoping that Gallus would understand and not mention his previous statements.
"But yes, this art truly is wonderful! It's honestly incredible to see what kind of works are here. Once I heard about the art show I knew I had to come over. After all, as an art hobbyist myself it's natural that I would be attracted to visiting events like this. Though I do worry that I might admire the work a bit too much. After all I am a...large horse and the amount of space in front of a piece is only so much. I would really hate to get in the way of someone trying to admire the work...but I'm sure someone as strong and muscular as you would understand that!" He chuckled, obviously seeming more comfortable while talking to Gallus, even if he perhaps spoke a bit too much. After all, he was full of joy to see Gallus around, and also to have a chance to speak with his friend, but he also didn't want to overwhelm the other too much. "My apologies for my rambling, Gallus. I suppose I just have a lot to say tonight."

Gallus Aodh | Pit Slave mentions; melisande : talks to: keres
Keres' words certainly earned an entertained chuckle from Gallus. "You and I both, my little friend." His voice was calm and kind as he looked down at him, giving him a warm, relaxed smile. Neither of them were particularly fond of Brontide - as one shouldn't be - and Gallus didn't blame the younger stallion one bit. "Not to worry, Keres. He holds no power over you." He reassured him, glancing at himself.
"Ah! But you must forgive me for looking so odd. Surely I look strange without my bridle on, hm?" he hummed, before casting his glance up at the artwork with his friend. At the suggestion Keres was too large and taking up space, he was quick to shake his head and dispel his worries.
"Don't you worry one bit. I know how it feels, but..." He hummed. "I'm sure everyone can see just fine. After all," He motioned to the entire room around them. "We're surrounded by it. It would be hard to miss." Another soft chuckle. "I don't mind your 'rambles', Keres. I have told you before. It is nice to hear the gentle voice of a kindly friend."
With that, he glanced around once more, his gaze fixating on the pretty mare across the room, her stature and looks all but screaming upper class. Certainly, far out of his league, though the older horse couldn't help but feel the strings of his heart be pulled. "There's quite a lot of beautiful things here...isn't there." He mumbled, more to himself, but absolutely audible to Keres. He didn't stand a chance... but maybe he would get a chance to naturally approach. Something about art perhaps. Not that he knew a lick about actual artistic terms.

Eleanor | Servile Slave
Eleanor had spent far too long fussing over what to wear and how to look when Shay had so kindly reminded her that they wanted to get to the sanctum ahead of time. She knew that he wanted time to meet up with others of his status and because of it, she had also spent an obscene amount of time fussing over what the young master should wear himself. She was quiet proud of herself, the red and gold gilded bridle, the matching bracelets, all of the finery he could possibly muster made him look every bit the son of a Soleil, even if he wasn't of the noble sort. She was especially happy with the way the golden scale makeup and orange eye shadow looked, considering how much the boy had fussed when she had started her task. A smile set upon her lips, even if his outfit covered it up, she knew that at any point in the night he wanted to remove the finery, he'd still glow and look every bit the handsome young man he had become.
Her own bridle matched her masters, the bit a delicate piece of work that was, as Shay called it, the least intrusive on her mouth. Jewels covered the front and side, a fine red and gold pattern that she felt matched perfectly with the mood for the night. As sunset approached, she watched quietly as the ball of light shay produced lead them through the streets, her eyes alight in excitement.
There was a benefit to being the only slave in Shay's possession. It meant she got to enjoy nights like this, which were such a rare and wonderful treat for the older mare. She recognized Tate when they met up with him at his library but the other two mares were only vague in her memories, as they were related to another, she was certain of it, that would often visit the villa when given the chance. She pushed the thought off and continued on her way, happy, once more, to just be allowed to witness such a wonderful event.
Shay's excitement gave her reason to pause when they entered the sanctum, her eyes watching him closely with a gentle love she couldn't really explain to herself. Sure, she held little care for the lower classes of Aodh, but Shay brought out her motherly side, as it seemed he had no parent to really care for him. She refused to settle on that thought long though. She wasn't meant to feel maternally for any master, young as they may be.
She hadn't expected him to remove the bridle, but his gentle reassurances gave her reason to pause, a light smile falling upon her lips as he did so. "Oh you shouldn't have." She whispered softly, mentally screaming over his lax attitude but trying her best to hold it in to avoid any problems. Instead, she decided that dipping her head to him would be the best move, before she turned away to look at some of the other works. The lack of Isador's visage was strange, almost discomforting in a way, but the mare didn't dare think of it for long.
Post 1| WC:533 Eleanor is interacting directly with Shay, post mentions Airita, Asalah, and Tate
Asalah | Armiger
Asalah had accepted Shay's invite out a few weeks prior. Normally, she would've declined and spent the night focusing on other matters within the Casino. However, with recent events, she felt that it was wise of her and her sister to get out of the place for once. The boys and Kimiko were left with Aramis for the night and for the first time, in a very long time, the two sisters made their way through the city together alongside the young Gentry without much fuss. His little orb of light that lead the way through the streets was quite enjoyable to watch, and before she knew it, they were at the Sanctum.
She was no stranger to the sanctums. As a well to do Armiger who balanced life between the casino and her true passions of being a doctor, she often took the time to visit each sanctum within New Valore to ensure that it's residents and slaves were well cared for. She wouldn't say that she probably traveled the most within the city, but some days it felt like she had the busiest schedule in all of Aodh. Between appointments with the new courtesans (both for their general check ups and work at the casino), book keeping discussions with Airita, watching her sons, running the casino, and trying to find the time of day to do her actual passions, she rarely had a night like this where she could just relax. Tonight, was a special occasion, and for the first time, Asalah felt like she could actually see the beauty in the sanctum itself.
The obsidian pendant around her neck bubbled softly, it seemed that that she was not the only one who noticed with mild discomfort that there seemed to be a hidden agenda within it's walls. She marveled at the work that Moira had put into every piece, but every item lacking Isador's connections set her feeling uneasy.
What if those rumors are true? What if he has been going after other horses within the city? The discussion she had with Aleksei and Airita still hung overhead, heavy on her mind. Despite everything, the confirmation of the casino's own ledger had put her in an uncomfortable place. She had hoped tonight would ease those worries, but it seemed that would not be the case.
Moonrise's appearance gave her the push she needed to move away from such dark thoughts. The smile on her face was enough to give Asalah reason to come closer and share a bit of talk with the mare. "Glad you actually managed to make it! I was worried you'd be in the forge all night."
It'd be nice to say hi to her and get the bubble of worry dealt with, but Asalah already knew she'd be spending more of the night looking after others. There were slaves here that could use some tending to, and while she wanted to relax, she had reason enough to keep an ear open for any news or events where she would be needed.

Keres smiled at the other's reassurance, appreciating the fact that his friend was both unbridled and also got some mild joy from Keres' words. Even so, Keres was extremely quick to notice the other's gaze wander to Melisande every now and again. He felt himself smile at the the assumption he made of the other's plight, and found himself mentioning his suspicions out loud. "Someone's got a little crush, huh?" He chuckled, though he made sure to keep himself from sounding too much like he was making fun of the other for it.
Quickly after finding his humor though, the male continued on, seemingly motivating the other. He definitely didn't plan to be a wingman of any sort, but he could tell that the other needed some encouragement. "You should go say hello, Gallus. Find a way to sneak in a greeting while you can. After all, in a situation like this I can imagine the worst thing she can do is just ignore you." Keres didn't exactly know what Gallus saw in the mistress who caught his eyes, but then again he also wasn't attracted to the common aodhian beauty standard of lithe bodies, or women for that matter. Even so, he'd support his friend anyhow.

DELTA Aodh | Labor Slave
Aerynn’s relief that Delta was still alive was… nice to hear. It also saddened her that the only ones genuinely concerned for her well-being were children, “ I’m not stone-proof, unfortunately,” she said when the two foals thanked Ignacio. Turning her right side to face them, showing Suzan, Aerynn and Taffy the mosaic of cuts that covered her shoulders, neck and face. She huffed a short laugh, “ It did give me some more opportunities for a more interesting set of scars, though.” Looking over to Taffy when he voiced hopes of the silver mare considering him a friend as well, she gave him a smile, though it became less sunny when the sugar-spinner said that all were equal in Ignacio’s eyes, “ If only His eyes were enough…” she said quietly, “ That being said, I’d welcome your friendship. Though, I’d rather you have me earn your trust first. I must admit.. I'm not the best at making friends.” The mare gave a light chuckle. Delta laughed a bit louder when Aerynn insisted on having the mare show them her Blessings. His enthusiasm was like the brightest light and seeing the colt happy, Delta decided that whenever she saw him, she’d do her best to make Aerynn smile. She handed her bridle to Aerynn, smiling at the filly next to him when she offered to take it instead, “ How about a compromise, kiddo? You can hang onto Jeremy for me?” she suggested as the small bat flew from her neck to rest on the back of the younger Slave, “ Ah! Don’t roast me! I’m not a marshmallow!” he squeaked humorously. Delta gave the foals a warm smile, taking a few more steps back, “ Taffy, was it? You are more than welcome to watch as well, if you’d like?” The mare took a deep breath, “ Alright… let's see if I can do this without having to be in a war…” Lifting her left front hoof, she slid the point of her iron shoe back and forth along the stone, slowly, concentrating. The metal began to glow, heating up but never burning her. She struck her hoof to the ground, sending a wave of harmless, playful sparks bouncing towards the three horses in front of her. She laughed as she heard the kids squeak, the sparks quickly going out. Lifting her head, Delta puffed a small cloud of ebony smoke from her nose, accompanied by dozens of blue and white embers. An unseen Force Field, looking like nothing more than curved glass, kept the smoke above them, creating a false starry sky. A shot of sky blue fire hissed through her teeth, the flames choking out the smoke and clearing the air. All around them, fragments of what appeared to be broken glass flashed in and out of sight, their combined shape creating a small dome. Delta had to remind herself to not go overboard with her fire. Rather than roar a jet of flame, like she wanted, she settled for something a bit more elegant. Looking down, she could see Aerynn’s smile. A warmth spread from her chest and from her hooves came a wave of white fire. It curled harmlessly between the hooves of Taffy and the children, creating a filigree pattern on the ground. The flames were warm and comforting as they twisted and bent upwards from an unseen edge. As the fire weaved between the shards of her Force Field, the edges of the flames became rosey and golden all at once. Like the colors of a sunrise on the whitest of fluffy clouds, When the flames joined together in the top center of the shield, the image was merely of broken glass and fire. Delta’s fire had never been the color of a pastel sunrise, but rather a dark blue, aqua and, only once, a sickly purple. She looked at the three horses near her, giving them a collective wink. Suddenly, the dome, image and fire collapsed, funneling down the center. When the fire touched the stone, Delta struck the ground hard with her left front, the remnants of her Force Field creating a wave for the small golden sparks as they spread out around them before finally going out. Delta let out a heavy breath, slightly exhausted, “ Heh, probably pushed it, a little,” she sighed, smiling, “ I’ve never made a mosaic out of my shield before. Fair chance I won’t ever get to do that again, though, so I regret nothing.” the mare laughed, taking her bridle back from Aerynn and affectionately ruffling his hair again.

POST 2 | WC: 610
The dark crystal unicorn nodded at the Flamen's words, and gave a secret sort of smile at her wink. The flames of rebellion were growing- and all for the better.
She nodded to Lux as she moved on, letting others hear the wise words of the holy Flamen. A commotion caught her eye- two young foals, one noble and one slave, stood around a very familiar face. As she watched, Delta used her blessings, creating a burning wyvern. It was beautiful- even she could admit that. The mare must have been truly loved by Ignacio, once- before she had killed so many.
Her head held high, she walked over to the small crowd, giving a smile to the two foals. Any child was precious- a gift from Kaia- and she wished that the young hippocampus had not been born into a world of servitude. Such a young child deserved better.
Perhaps she would feel differently when the child grew older- but for now, she wished that the child could grow and run and play, not serve.
"Greetings, young Emin," she said, giving a nod to Aerynn. "How might you and your friend be on this fine evening?" She finished up her phrase with a gentle ruffle of the foal's forelock, a motherly smile lighting up her face.
The dark mare then turned to the hippocampus foal. "And what might your name be, young one?" She gave another soft smile, looking at the two foals and praying to Ignacio to guide them, and keep them safe.
She turned to Taffy then, giving a warm smile. "I suppose we have you to thank for the fine sweets this evening- they are truly works of art. I may have to hire you in the future, for when I return to Aodh to stay. Tell me, how can I reach you? We House Xoians are known for our love of sweets." She gave a quick wink, a wide smile on her face. Truly, the treats were incredible to look at- and she imagined they tasted as good as they looked. She would have to try one before she left.
Finally, she turned to Delta. Her face lost its smile- she knew who this mare was, and knew what she had done. She would pay for her crimes until the end of her days- and yet, there was pity in Eliina's heart for the mare. To have once been a brave warrior, only to break apart and lose everything- what a cruel twist of fate.
She cleared her throat before speaking. She was the bigger equine here- she could be civil to a murderer, perhaps even kind.
The mare could be of use one day.
"Greetings, Delta," she said, giving the mare a soft smile. "I am sorry to hear about your troubles- I can't imagine the life of a slave to be easy in any matter." She lowered her voice, stepping closer to the mare- she wasn't afraid, and why should she be? So the mare had size and strength on her- if she tried anything, she would burn. "I admire your gifts from the Smoldering Sun. You must have been favored by him in the cold of Onea. Speak to me later- perhaps I can help you with medication."
She gave the other mare a secret little smile. "Or, perhaps I can tell you of your friend- Kellie, was it?" Eliina gave the mare a look- she knew she had given the wrong name, but she couldn't help but rile up the mare a little bit.
She did enjoy a bit of drama.

CHECKPOINT
Suddenly, the still and hot air gives way to a single strike of lightning. The Sanctum is briefly painted in countless colors as the light shines through the great stained glass windows. A count of five later, you hear the rumble of thunder.
A Chevalier walks in, and looks around, visibly unsure. His bay tobiano coat is wet, but not from rain – the distinct heat his body gives off as he steps inside is telling. This unicorn has come running. From amongst the crowd, he makes out the forms of several Flamines, and walks straight towards Pyre, her white coat sticking out to him more so than others. ”Your Holiness”, he says – to her, but loud enough for everyone around the Flamen to hear: ”Have you… Have you looked outside?”

Gallus Aodh | Pit Slave talks to; keres, melisande [ finally LOL ] Gallus was quick to startle at the suggestion from Keres, his ears flickering back nervously. Crush? Wasn't sure on that one, but she surely was the prettiest horse he'd ever laid eyes on.... And he already knew he stood no chance. He was very quick to dismiss it, shaking his head and taking a step 'back', furthering his distance from the pretty lady by another step; though they were already across the room from one another.
"Ah, no. I'm not sure about that, my little friend." While Keres was right; in a situation like this, she likely could just say no, but she was so far above him in looks alone that he doubted he stood a chance of anything more than a disgusted sneer. Then again, he did know that he was unlikely to face any violence from her, that just wasn't the Aodhian way. So...Keres had a point. Upon this realization, he grumpily huffed and lowered his head.
"I know you're right...." There was no proper excuse he could surely make in order to get himself out of this situation. What was wrong with saying hello, after all? They'd likely never see each other after this anyway.... if he didn't do it now, would he ever have the chance again? His life was long; did he want to have that regret hanging on him his whole life.
"Alright alright... fine." He huffed. "I'll go... say something." He remarked. "I mean...maybe she's heard of me?" Not entirely unlikely, considering Gallus's medium-celebrity-status as a Pit Fighter. He kept forgetting that detail ; nor did he particularly enjoy thinking on it. It was more than a strange position to be in as a slave.
Just as he was about to gather up his courage and trot over there, he was startled for a brief moment as a Unicorn burst in - a Chevalier from the looks of it - and he swallowed nervously. The words the horse spoke were loud and slightly concerning... but then again, he was willing to cast it away this one time. Especially since he was already halfway across the room, keenly aware of how out of place he was.
Another pep talk and he crossed the distance between himself and those around Melisande, before nervously clearing his throat and giving her a slight bow.
"Hello...em, there." The air around her made his head feel fuzzy, or maybe that was his own nerves. "It is nice to meet you - might I say you look quite lovely tonight?" He had never, in all his years, felt this flustered around a pretty mare before. He felt like he might fall over.

= M O I R A = The fire finds a home in me.
WC: 585 | Post 3 She watched, feeling a flash of satisfaction and relief as things settled around her- frayed nerves soothed, new acquaintances being made- and possibly something more, she’d noticed more then a few familiar starstruck expressions on guests tonight that was certainly not directed at the artwork.
It was nice to see, even if for a brief, quiet moment, she felt she stood alone in Azar. Surrounded by equines and with Ignacio’s light heavy on her back, she saw herself peering out at them all from behind her stained glass windows.
Loneliness wasn’t an unknown feeling. It’d been her companion for most of her life. She was familiar with its shadow, and gently set it aside. Tonight was not the time to dwell on old regrets, to long for things out of her reach.
She wondered sometimes, if Ignacio ever looked upon His people and felt the same.
Tonight, her old ghosts seemed happy to come haunt her, and she watched with a small smile as children romped merrily near them, her smile becoming pained as she observed the brand on one small shoulder. It hurt to see, as if the brand burned into her own heart, but she was almost used to the sight by now. She’d thought her heart might grow calloused and scarred and that the pain would eventually stop, but she was almost grateful it always felt just as fresh.
If she looked at a bitted foal and felt nothing, she would have truly lost herself.
But there was no time to dwell on memories, and she drew her own aura of tranquility around herself like a cloak. She breathed in deeply, tasting the faint hint of incense that always lingered here in Azar, the sweet smoke that hung around the stranger from earlier. She’d broken that habit decades back, but for a moment she let herself indulge in the idea of wandering over to see if the unicorn might wish to share some company over a pipe.
She drained her goblet at the thought. Wine was her main vice of choice, these days, and she dryly thought that she might go through a few casks before the art show was over.
But there were people to greet, an art show to manage, and a King to overthrow.
There would be time for memories and wine later.
A chevalier was approaching, and she set her empty goblet on a passing tray, turning to regard him attentively.
She inclined her head slightly to Pyre, inviting her along without a word as she looked sharply to the chevalier, nodding towards the front doors. Azar was a place of colored light- it came with its drawbacks. With all the windows made of colored glass, the outside world was a faraway dream.
The light that had been coming through them was tinted green, but she had been trying to ignore it for now.
“Lovely of you to join us, chevalier.” She replied serenely, silently wishing for a way to open the large front doors without anyone else seeing outside- she could not protect them from what was out there. They likely weren’t much safer in here, but it was hard to believe that when she stepped on holy ground. In Azar, she was untouchable- or so she liked to believe.
She hoped tonight would not put that to the test.
“Now, what seems to be the problem?” She asked softly, opening the door a crack and peering out, one bi-colored eye flicking up to the pulsing sky.
ADDRESSING: Nikolas and Pyre, but anyone is welcome to hear/follow Moira, she just might shoo you away later dliguhh (And obviously she cannot stop you from looking out the doors- the stained glass windows just give a distorted/colored view of outside if you look VERY closely)

She'd heard about the art show and knew she absolutely had to attend. Even if Euonia wasn't going to be there, she knew she could get away from the Sanctum for the night. It was warm outside the sanctum, so she knew it would feel homely inside. The evening lights flickered around her as she entered, astonished by the astounding stained glass. Oralee was beautiful, and Angélique would fight anyone who said otherwise, but she had to concede, the stained glass here was magnificent. She recognised the Flamen Moira, and felt her heart quicken, as it often did around those of higher social rank. She could feel the little bubble in her chest expand with excitement. Mingling, gossiping, trading news and sharing insights into the beautiful art on display. It was a night of dreams and beauty. Scanning the attendants of the party, her seafoam eyes settled on her dear friend Sereya, accompanied by her two slaves. She was talking to Lux, and the girl raced up to her friend. "Sereya!" She beamed, "Isn't everything so beautiful?" She looked up at the Advisor, dipping her head, and folding her forelegs into a neat curtsey. "Your Eminence." She greeted.
A quick flash in the corner of her eye makes her jump. The weather had been hot, but still when she had come in, and now a low, seemingly delayed, roll of thunder echoed around them all. "What-" she began, but looking up to the windows. Flashes of bright colours were cast across her golden coat due to the stained glass, bathing Angélique, Sereya and the others in blue, green, red and orange light. "Sereya..." She started, nervously stepping closer to her friend and Lux. She heard the doors open, and saw Moira gazing out. "Let's go take a look." She murmured to Sereya, giving her a nervous but curious look. As far as she could see from where she was standing, there was light flickering in the sky, perhaps a regular, thunderstorm resulting from the hot weather? But what if it was not? What if it was something else entirely? How could she miss out on that. She began to take a few steps towards the door, looking towards Sereya to see whether she would follow or not. Caron "Now the Fire and Wind guide me to Freedom."
Post 3 | WC 272 Aerynn bounced off, almost as soon as Caron greeted him, and the black kirin gave a small chuckle as another foal ran up after him, introduced herself and chased off after the young eminent. They sighed a bit, noting the brand on the white hippocampus’s chest - their ears flicking back as the sight reminded them of when they first met Shiya… While the two of them had been older than Aerynn and Susan, it was still something similar, with Caron simply following Shiya around where she pleased - Especially as she slipped out, and donned her mask of Shebella.
They took a shaky breath, a few crackles of electricity crackling from their hooves, as the others who had approached Moira left, splitting off to talk with others or to look at the art. Chiya sang a few notes as they continued to stay near Moira - A party like this… Caron truly did not know what to do with themselves as they noticed Moira approach someone - Two someones, and so they loosely followed - After all, it was either stay near Moira and at least feel like they were doing something right, or stand in a corner and just feel… Out of place, and as ignored as they had been when their bridle had a bit.
They pricked their ears to what the chevalier said, something was happening outside? Caron glanced at Moira at that, seeing her nod to the flamen the chevalier had first approached - Pyre, and started heading to the door. Well… Now they were curious, and so they followed as well, to have a glance outside to see what was going on. OOC: Caron didn't talk to anyone, but is standing near Moira like.. constantly. They need friends.

S E R E Y AOf monsters and flowers
Sereya knew that Lux was not one she could fool – better yet, the stallion seemed more than happy to join in her little scheme. Others however – she knew most of them would see only smoke. And she would not give her mother a reason to complain. “ You are correct, your Eminence. I’m afraid my mother had prior engagements, therefore I had to represent my House.” She sighs, theatrically lowering her lashes as a solemn, pained expression graced her features. There was no missing on the slight smirk that followed right after. “ We would never miss such an exceptional event – it would be a slight to her Holiness Moira.” She adds with a candid smile. “ I walked safely, thank you kindly for your concern, Adviser. I never have much to fear with my loyal companions by my side.” She nods towards Sirocco and Harlan – giving the two of them a confident look. “ And oh! What a charming lad! I am certainly pleased to meet him as well.” She says, politely dipping her head before the creature with an amused smile. They were soon joined by a familiar, welcome presence. A soft smile made its way on her face – a genuine one, for once. “ Angélique.” She greets. “ Glad you could make it.” She meant to ask the unicorn if she knew anything about her aunt’s absence – but would not do so in front of Lux. “ Eminence, this is my friend Ange-“ She was interrupted by a flash. Colors. Thunder. Angélique’s fearful expression. The heat, that suddenly felt unbearable. Her eyes quickly caught on Moira, and she gazed at her friend, mind racing as she spoke. The Flamen certainly did not appear to want to be interrupted, or noticed, for that matter. “ I’m not sure, Angie. The Flamen doesn't appear to want to be noticed - we better not bring attention to her and start a panic.” She whispers, leaning closer to the other filly and Lux. “... But I could send Sirocco peer discretely.” Her eyes flicked towards the red mare, who nodded in response. “ Adviser, what do you think we should do?” she asks, eyes turning towards the stallion. She did her best to hide her own confusion – she had yet to give in to fear. But the uneasiness she felt only built up by the minute.

S I R O C C O "Hit the bottom and escape."
“ Good job, love. Was he the former slave you talked about? That sounds like a strange story if I have ever heard one.” She certainly was one to tell stories – and lies. The kirin was someone she would be wary of. “ I wonder what business he has with the Flamen.” She whispers. So long as he opposed no threat to Sereya or Harlan, she cared little – but part of her wanted to look out for the Flamen as well. While she had spent most of the last weeks in Rosebriar Manor watching over Sereya, she was no fool to the tension that had built up in the meantime. She knew anything could make it explode and shed the shadows of terror to extinguish the glittering lights of Azar. She certainly was right. First, young Angélique walked up to them – she knew that could only be the sign for a long night. She politely dipped her head, nonetheless. Then, a flash and thunder. A sweating Chevalier made his way inside, running to Pyre in a visible panic. That could not be good. Sereya did not have to ask her twice – she knew what she had to do. She leaned in closer to Harlan, locking eyes with him. “ Watch the kids, I’ll be right back”. She gave him a slight smile in passing- brushing against him as she moved through the crowd and soon disappeared among other anonymous faces. She stopped at a good distance, staying behind a group of equines as her eyes carefully watched the Flamines and chevalier. She could not see much when the door briefly opened – but she would keep watch for now.

Pyre turned her head at the sound of her name, chains hanging from her bridle swaying wildly. She smiled at Moira but quickly looked away in a vain attempt to hide the tension in her expression. It’d been how long since she was appointed Flamen? And still she jumped whenever anyone addressed her as such. The attention and recognition of such a title were still entirely foreign to her. She’d spent so much of her life as nobody in particular, not even to her family, it frightened her to suddenly stand in a position of such influence and respect. Even as acting Flamen, Pyre felt as though she could retreat to the familiarity of an attendant at any time. This was only temporary of course, until they could find a suitable replacement, she’d tell herself when she felt overwhelmed. Only, that relief of relinquishing the title never came. It was only etched in stone. She felt it a little easier to manage, to pretend like her words came as easily as she wanted them to, that the candles melting on her back weren’t terribly uncomfortable, that she had all the right answers, at Ignis. Who could dispute her there? But here in another sanctum, with another Flamen, she still felt horribly inadequate. Why, one wrong word and-
Aura dug her claws into Pyre’s flank, careful not to draw blood. Pyre took a deep, shaky breath. Ah, she’d been doing so well too. Pyre smoothed down the dragon’s frills, ever thankful for her attentiveness. Aura had become a favorite among visitors as of late for this exact reason. She’d need to look into purchasing another animal to help around the sanctum.
The sudden flash of lightning made both Pyre and Aura jump. The flamen winced.
“Claws Aura. Claws.” The pygmy dragon unlatched her claws from Pyre’s back, apologetically licking at her fur.
Pyre watched the chevalier slip into the sanctum, only to approach her
“Have you.. Have you looked outside?”
“I have not.” she said, keeping her voice low. She looked to Moira, who motioned for Pyre to follow. The windows offered little information, distorting anything to be seen outside beyond recognition. The warmer colors did appear much less vibrant, now that she thought about it. She stood by Moira, tail flicking wildly behind her.
“What is it?”

M E L I S A N D E "All I ever wanted was the world."
Post #3 | 444 The Mistress' idle chat with the nervous child from before lulled to a stop, her thoughts turning inwards as her eyes roamed over the various works of art before her.
Melisande raised the pipe closer to her lips, wrapped in silent poise and sweet smoke. She admired, for just a brief moment, the way the vapor looked as it looped and swooped in a slow climb to the ceiling, distorted by the glimmering windows. Yes, she'd enjoy these simple pleasures whenever she could, like a balm that smoothed over any bristles on her heart. It helped to keep her head collected and mind sharp. Could such a thing really be called indulgence when one worked so hard for it in the first place?
With a slow blink and deep breath, Melisande let her busy thoughts drift away like the smoke. She was not here to philosophize. Discussion of all sorts filled up the sanctum; the Mistress gathered a few words here and there from the buzz of chatter that surrounded her. But just as she honed her focus did a Chevalier walked into the temple, a subtle urgency in his step. Melisande eyed him curiously, looking over to the pair of Flamines with a newly ignited interest. Hmm... Something to keep an eye on.
Her attention was swiftly diverted, however, when a new face approached her. The stranger (Gallus) had offered a compliment, one that Melisande responded to with a curl of her lips in a small smile. She regarded the stallion steadily, the full gravitas of her scrutiny turning to him with a flick of her eyes. Had she seen him, before? There was something familiar about the stallion, though she couldn't say. Her eyes roved over the patchwork of scars that mottled his dark coat and the evident strength he carried himself with - a fighter, for sure.
"Good evening," Melisande nodded to him, a dip of her head that just barely disturbed her curls, "Your kindness is much appreciated." She had known the ever-gracious Flamen was welcoming slaves to her event, though certainly Melisande did not expect one to walk up and talk to her. She had to commend him for his bravery, at the least. Perhaps he could be useful. "There is something familiar about you, but I am afraid I can't quite recall it... Have we met, perhaps?" She lamented with a questioning tilt of her head, false humility in the flutter of her lashes. Meanwhile, in the back of her consciousness, she kept tabs on the growing situation with the chevalier nearby - who knew what would come of that, if anything. It was probably nothing.

Aerynn || Eminent || Post Four
Taffy's words were not lost on Aerynn, and he dipped his head respectfully to the adult. He even picked out a lollypop, strawberry - of course - and used his teke to pop it into his mouth, sucking on the sweet treat. He thanked Taffy softly, and turned his attention back to Delta. Aerynn's eyes went wide as Delta put on one heck of a fire show. Or at least, what he thought of one as being 'one heck of a fire show.' Considering that she was a slave, often condemned to wear her bridle and unable to use her blessings in public, she might be tired, out of practice. But Aerynn didn't care; he was way too happy with what he was seeing in front of him. "That was so cool!" Squeaked the young foal, practically dancing in place. He paid no mind to the weather outside, or the Chevalier that made his way into the event; people were coming and going at a rate that he couldn't keep up with. Instead, he simply turned his attention back to his sweet, speaking around it. "Thank you, Delta!" He called out, tail wagging almost like a dog's. "Wasn't that cool, Suzan?" He inquired, turning his attention back to his pal. They seemed happy enough with Jeremy, and he was glad that they were having a good time too.

Misti || Flamen of Palasa || Post Three
Misti couldn't help but feel their heart flutter slightly as they chatted with Sunny. Of course, they pushed the thought aside. They were far too busy to entertain such thoughts right now; it was a huge event, to see the work of the Flamen of Azar and her acolytes, other artists of Aodh. Wandering about with gooey thoughts in their mind wasn't going to be good for them. But that didn't mean they couldn't chat along with Sunny. Smiling, they dipped their head, speaking aloud. "Well, you can always bring your books back to Palasa for us to look over later," Misti assured Sunny with a small chuckle. "And...thank you; I don't dress up much, even when I'm doing my duties, so I have to admit, it's strange, but I'm getting used to it," they said with a smile in Sunny's direction.
"What about you? Other than the studying, what have you been up to?" They asked, cocking their head in Sunny's direction. "And have you been around the area," they nodded, "where they're giving out treats yet? For I could use one, for sure." As a Chevalier came in, suddenly, Misti's attention was dragged to him, but they didn't really hear what was being said, and turned back to Sunny quickly enough. They awaited an answer.

Dominosteine || Gentry || Post Three
Dominosteine found themself torn away from the artwork, as the door was flung open, and a Chevalier asked Moira if she'd seen the weather outside. A frown crossed the chestnut foal's face as they turned to look out the window...unable to see anything really. And curiosity was far too strong to let them go on their way. So they took the few steps towards Moria, peeking out from around her shoulder as best they could.
"What's going on out there?" Dom asked, raising a brow as the teen searched left and right, looking at the gathering stormy weather. It had been so hot and humid earlier...this seemed...strange. Was something good about to happen? Something bad? Nothing at all? Dominosteine wasn't sure what the answer would be to that question, and so they pressed closer, hoping that Moira wouldn't shoo them away like a child. After all, they were getting older now, and since the death of their mother, they had been in charge of much at home. They were old enough to handle whatever was going on out there. Weren't they?

Dominosteine is talking to Moira.
Misti is talking to Sunny.
Aerynn is talking to Delta, Taffy, and Suzan.

Gallus Aodh | Pit Slave talks to; melisande She was beyond beautiful, and she was looking at him. Gallus hadn't felt weak in the legs in a long time but he felt like he could crumble at any moment. He almost barely registered her words, too busy getting lost in the beautiful curls in her mane and her startling pink eyes all draped in gilded wonder.
But he couldn't be rude, and he was able to hear her inquiries. At the suggestion he was familiar, that gave the stallion reason to swell with a bit of pride. Perhaps she did recognize him from the Pit! He didn't blame her one bit for not entirely recognizing him; after all, not everyone deeply entrenched themselves in pit life, culture, or politics. He would be happy to inform her just exactly who he was.
"I would remember a beautiful face like yours, I'm sure of it." Gallus assured her, his voice not even trying to hide the admiration of her. He had no reason to. "I am Gallus, a Pit Fighter in the Crucible. You might have seen, or heard of me?" He looked up at her, hope written on his features.

Art by: Me Suzan Aodh - Servile Slave Suzan couldn't help but scrunch their face up a touch when Delta revealed the extent of her injuries. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on ones perspective, it wasn't something they were unfamiliar with. A single month in the Dark District was plenty of time to see the horrors that occurred to the horses there, and Suzan still wondered occasionally where Madhava had gone. Wondered if Csaba ever saw them again. Delta's seeming nonchalance about her scars didn't do much to assuage Suzan's concern, but at least it prevented the child from saying anything about it. Aerynn was given the bridle, while instead Suzan was given a more interesting thing to hold; a tiny bat. The child turned their head to look at the small, scarfed creature laying on their back, giggling at the squeak that it produced. "Aww, cute!" Yes, this would do just perfectly. All they needed was one of those lollipops Aerynn had taken from Taffy's table, and happily sucked on it when they plucked one for themselves. Delta was, as Suzan realized, a horse to be admired and feared. Admired for the fact she was blessed by Ignacio, but also feared because one of those blessings was fire. Fire was good, of course. But it was also scary. Fire made their skin hurt, and they definitely didn't want to fear the pain from a brand ever again. But at least...at least Delta's fire was beautiful. Fear aside, Delta's blessing were remarkable. It was hard to not to feel a little jealous. Aerynn was blessed by Ignacio, but little Suzan had yet to garner the Smoldering Suns attention just yet. No sooner had the golden sparks ended their glittering bounce across the floor, Aerynn was turning to them. Giggling, albeit a tad nervously, Suzan nodded with a smile. "Amazing!"Shortly afterwards, a dark mare [ Eliina] covered in gemstones approached. She seemed to know Aerynn too, which was nice to know right of the bat. Suzan knew that they would have to get to know this mare as well in order to keep appearances. When the unicorn turned her gaze to Suzan, the little foal promptly bowed. "Suzan, Ma'am!" A smile was quickly planted on their face, before taking their place next to Aerynn once more. Attentive, Suzan caught on who the mare was; she was a member of House Xoias. Though they couldn't remember much about the house in particular, they recognized that a House was a House, and they were to be called Eminent. "Oh, I'm sorry, your Eminence!" They bowed again to ensure their apology got across. The dark mare turned to Delta, but the flash of lightning that sent a scattering of rainbow colors throughout the building caught Suzan's attention. The child looked confused for a moment, but then the thunder that followed made them relax; just a storm. Ignacio was watching them tonight, perhaps. She looks around the room, for the first time really taking in the other horses within. Eyes peer to the door as horses enter. Among those entering the building comes a chevalier. He looks anxious, sweaty, and he walks over to a group of horses that Suzan recognizes to contain a few Flamens [Moira, Pyre, Caron, Nikolas]. They turn towards the doors after a brief chat, and Suzan tilts their head but says nothing. |

Leonides | Merchant
Maybe he was running a bit late. Leonides flicked a blond lock of hair from his face and glanced up at the darkened sky. He wasn’t bothered too much by probably having missed the opening of the art show. It would allow him a bit of an entrance. “Yeah, fashionably late.” Leonides smiled to himself, his hooves clacking on the stone street as he made his way over to the Azar Sanctum in a relaxed pace.
It had been a while for the café owner to go out and enjoy some socializing outside of work. He’d even taken his time in dressing up, figuring the event to be somewhat formal. Besides, one never knew, he might want to make an impression on someone tonight. Leonides adjusted the clasps of the short, red cape on his shoulder, using his golden teke to straighten the high collar of the long-sleeved white blouse he was wearing. Simple, yet elegant and comfortable in these temperatures.
The stallion was used to the summers of Aodh, how the heat would linger between the warm stone houses long after Ignacio’s sun had set. But this night felt a little different. He was glad to reach Azar Santum, hoping it would be cooler inside. Leonides had never been to this Sanctum but everyone knew about the stained glass. So as soon as the stallion walked through the door his gaze went up to the famous windows. “Indeed stunningly beautiful, actually even more impressive than the stories let on.” he thought.
It took Leonides a moment to lower his eyes again and scan for a familiar face as he walked into the crowd. Taking in the smell of candles and herbs, the stallion moved passed the art for now, his first objective was finding something cold to drink. He spotted the Flamen, easily recognizable with her candle lit outfit. Maybe he would go and greet her later when she wasn’t surrounded, for even the quick glimpses of art he saw made it clear a compliment would be in order.
Leonides paused at the table with refreshments. He saw a faintly familiar dark horse, which he recognized because of the orange scarf and the koi hippocampus at her side. He also recognized Asalah, which briefly brought him back to the unpleasant adventure their group had in the village of Hearth. That seemed so long ago now, so much had happened.
The sudden flash of colour filling the room snapped Leonides out of his thoughts and his teke juggled with his glass a few seconds as it slipped out of his grip. It shattered to the floor as the thunder rumbled overhead and the stallion cursed under his breath. Hoping that the sudden change in weather had at least covered for his clumsiness. “Well, as long as that’s all the glass that shatters tonight…” Leonides mumbled to himself, his annoyance washed away by optimism.

Tate|Aodh|Smuggler
It had been a busy few weeks for the library since Tate had returned from the bar from that fateful night. Most of the following days were spent notifying Shay of the behind the scene work of the Library and giving him some of the safezones in case everything from this went sideways, the rest of the time was spent as normal, except with more "rumors" being spread to anyone who would listen. The news of an event run by Flamen Moria was a very welcoming respite to the new chaos of the days, and would be a better way to get word out aside from the library patrons, which is probably the hidden meaning of this meeting.
Shay came by the library with one of his servile slaves, a very motherly equine that he learned her name Eleanor and had a very pleasant conversation about music styles with along the way to gather up two more of Shay's friends, the owners of the Casino. By the time the group had arrived at the sanctum, the party was in full swing, pictures of the Soleil family displayed along the sanctum. Tate spent his time glancing at all the art, sticking around Shay, just to stay near someone he was sure that he knew.

Taffy "And the world tastes good, Cause the candy man, thinks it should~"
Post 5 | WC 187 Taffy chuckled, as he watched Susan try to take the bridle instead of Aerryn, instead being given a small bat to hold, though he couldn't help the small wince he saw the still healing scars that Delta bore. "If it's your trust I must earn, I'm afraid I'm not quite sure how to go about that. I do try to help who I can, where I can though." He hummed, as Delta then invited him to watch the show as well, giving a small nod.
And he had to admit, the show was incredible, leaving him speechless for the moment, at least until a dark unicorn approached, as the children squealed in enjoyment from watching Delta
He smiled warmly at her as she greeted them all, chuckling "Of course! The Menagerie is always available for catering after all. You need merely stop by the store to make your request. Mr Taffy's Marvelous Menagerie of Sweets." He hummed "And I'm Taffy, at your service." He gave a smile as the unicorn winked, though he couldn't help but notice the familiarity that she spoke to Delta with - How strange.

"Well it is certainly a grand occasion for your first formal representation," Lux chuckled, not missing Sereya's ... enthusiasm for such a role. He could understand the sentiment for they were cut from a similar cloth, one which wasn't particularly partial to grand public events like this. Sereye was likely still adjusting as well, thrown into a world she had never been prepared for. Heirs were raised to this expectation, but Sereya had only recently inherited that title through tragedy. It would be a lot to process.
Across the room, he caught the nod of the War-Forged Envoy, her crystal horns distinctive. He nodded back politely, familiar with the noble in a professional setting rather than any kind of personal one. He knew of House Xoias, as opposed to knowing them. It would perhaps be prudent to arrange some kind of meeting with her with regards to her her work whilst she were still in Aodh, but now was hardly such an occasion and he turned his attention back to the filly before him.
One filly had become two.
A friend of Sereya's it seemed, which potentially boded chaos. He dipped his head in greeting to the young unicorn, but the introduction was cut off by flash and Lux lifted his head to look towards the window. The stained glass revealed little other than colour, but the telling rumble of thunder followed shortly after. It seemed a literal storm was brewing as well as a metaphorical one. How... apt. He turned his attention to room at large, eyes drifting over the assembled groups to gauge reactions. Large groups could be volatile, and panic often spread quickly when it set in. The two fillies seemed rattled, if the feeling was mutual within the room there would be some cause for concern. A tobiano coat stood out by virtue of being damp with sweat and Lux frowned slightly. They were not here for the show, whoever they were. News of some sort then? An urgent message? He wasn't sure.
His eyes lingered on the chevalier a moment longer as Sereya asked a question before he dropped his gaze down to her. He paused a moment to consider his words, eyes flicking briefly to the departing red mare before back to the kirin filly. "We breathe," he counselled, spying the slight unease that was starting to coil through the air. Bordeaux chimed a few notes as well, intended to be soothing though the birds heavily ruffled feathers didn't give him the smooth confidence he had perhaps intended. "And we assess. If you've sent someone to be your eyes, and you trust their information, you need not go yourself. Else, why did you send someone in the first place?" He wasn't sure if that would be a particularly satisfactory answer for a curious youth, but he would prefer it if the pair of them stayed away from the doors for now if there was something stirring. "Until then, there is no reason to make a mountain out of a molehill. Act, don't react. Wait for information. I believe you were making introductions?" he prompted.

M E L I S A N D E "All I ever wanted was the world."
Post #4 | 305 Oh, he was downright smitten, now wasn't he? Melisande couldn't help the ripple of amusement that flared in her chest. She knew the effect she had on others, but still it never ceased to entertain her.
The Mistress listened, as politely as she could, whilst Gallus introduced himself - until the crucible came up. Her smile grew carefully still on her face, soured by a sudden blankness hiding the heavy distaste coiling inside her. She felt like the lightning that rumbled outside was now echoed in her heart.
Ah... Melisande tried her best not to visit the Crucible if she could help it. The reminder nagged at years-old wounds in her soul. Even a decade later and still the blazing memory of her mother's execution lingered with her. The few times she had recently frequented the place hadn't been of her own accord, that was for sure. She must've by chance seen one of Gallus' fights, though the memory was fuzzy and distant. Her mind had been... elsewhere.
But Melisande was, if anything, an expert with her words; so she forced down the thoughts and gave the pit fighter her most winning smile.
"Ah yes..." Melisande hummed out slowly, deciding how best to handle this, "I have visited the Crucible here and there, I likely saw a fight of yours. I do not make a habit of attending, though I'm sure you are quite the competent contender." He looked the part, at least. His numerous scars marked him as a survivor. She briefly wondered how different a life he must lead, and was promptly glad she was able to enjoy the luxury of her hard work, unlike him. "I am Melisande, Mistress of The Pearl. Tonight, however, is not about business. I am just here to enjoy the atmosphere; the Flamen outdid herself, wouldn't you agree?"
(Interacting with Gallus; very briefly talks about Moira)

Moonrise laughed at Asalah's light ribbing about her workaholic tendencies. "Oh well, work's been busy lately, what with everything, seems like everyone's wanting a custom weapon or piece of armor these days. But I wouldn't miss this, especially not with my own pieces on display." She cast her gaze over to the Amadeus breastplate, sighing a little as she looked away and shook her head at Asalah.
"I'll be honest, I'm glad to finally be done with that breastplate, it was sitting in the workshop far too long. I might just donate it to the sanctum to be an art installment so I don't have to look at it in my forge every day." It wasn't that she didn't like the piece, it was just a case of working on something for far too long and just growing tired of it. It didn't happen all the time, but this was one of those.
The strike of lightning and clap of thunder took her off guard, and she sidestepped out of instinct. She craned her head to look up through the shining stained glass, she hoped that the thunderclap meant that rain might start and douse the oppressive heat outside. She knew it was probably wishful thinking, because it sure hadn't smelled like rain on the way over. She watched as a chevalier, slick with sweat, went over to talk to a Flamen.
"What do you suppose that's about?" She said, leaning over both to the Asalah and to Mickaiah. She passed her teke over the hilt of her sword, a gesture simply to comfort any nervousness that started trying to settle. She looked over to the refreshments table after a pause in conversation, smiling with a nod when she spotted Leonides, remembering him from the adventure in the sanctum months ago.
"Do either of you want anything to drink? I doubt the storm's going to bring any relief to the heat." Post #2 | Word Count: 321
Interacting directly with: Asalah, Mickaiah. Indirectly with Leonides. Moonrise also mentions Nikolas and Pyre

Asalah | Armiger
There was a quiet moment's pause that gave Asalah all the information she needed as Moonrise glanced at the piece that hung to their left. She knew that the artisan was proud of her work, but she also knew that it had taken a lot out of her to get it to look as good as it did now, and as the blacksmith mentioned that she was glad to be done with it, Asalah couldn't help but give a small nod. She understood. There had been a bridle she had been working on that had given her the same kind of feeling, and thinking upon it now, knowing that it was to belong to the very Pegasus that was pictured upon that breast plate, filled her with a sadness she could not explain. Maybe it was because she had once been young and foolish, but her mind turned briefly to the time when Amadeus had been in charge, and how hectic things had been. For some reason, she felt like it had been a less dangerous, less controlled chaos than what the herd was dealing with now, but somehow that had made it better. Though she wasn't sure if she was looking at it with the right lens. She had, after all, been at her happiest right before Isador had risen into power. Newly apprenticed to be a doctor, well acquainted with her insights to know that she didn't wish to just be a merchant for the rest of her days... It had been a fresh start. And she hadn't been called to war or had witnessed the death of a child before her. She shivered slightly as her mind strayed to the less pleasant past few years as Leonides entered her view. She hadn't been to his shop in a bit, and guilt pulsed through her as she realized, maybe a little too late, that his flirtatious attitude had been genuine that first time they had been together. A frown pursed her lips, and just as she felt herself slip into her memories, thunder clashed overhead. Asalah felt herself get pulled from her thoughts, the relief of it showing visibly on her face as Moonrise asked what the commotion was about. Probably for the better, as she would've relived that day in Hearth otherwise. She could already see the dead body, her stomach curdling at the thought. "I-I don't know. Sorry, you ah... nearly lost me there for a second." She smiled, ever so slightly before turning to the sound. "Probably heat lightning..." She added as an afterthought. "It didn't seem much like rain when we came out this way...""A drink would be nice, though. I'm going to ask Leonides if he's doing alright. He looks a little shaken." She added before turning away from the darker mare and seeking out the merchant. "You doing alright? I saw you nearly drop your drink there. Any shaking or random spells of clumsiness you haven't been telling your doctor about?" She asked with a slight smile as she came to stand beside the lighter stallion. It was meant in jest, but after all that they had been through, she still wanted to make sure the events from their last major encounter together hadn't caused him any lasting effects. You really need to get out of doctor mode, Asalah. She chided herself. Post 2 | WC 570
Eleanor | Servile Slave
The thunder interrupted Eleanor in her viewings almost immediately. Not waiting for a single soul to say anything otherwise, she turned to the nearest window. Nothing. She couldn't really see through the glass all too well, at least not here. Her ears and eyes were alert as she heard the door open somewhere else in the sanctum, and somebody ask if anybody had looked outside. She frowned further. She had managed to get pretty far in her viewing and was by no means near the entrance at this point, but a pit of worry began to form in her stomach. She probably would be better off if she stuck closer to her young master, as although she wasn't exactly equipped with enough skill to protect him, she could at least stop anything dangerous from coming directly after him for a little bit. Quietly, turning her head back towards the way she came, she trotted past the mingling guests and nearly tripped into a horse who had gotten his party some drinks. Mumbling a quick apology, she came back to stand beside the dragon Pegasus, her eyes ever vigilant.
"Master Shay, Master Tate, do either of you know what may have caused that absolutely dreadful noise? I can't tell if it's starting to rain outside, but I'm a little concerned about our trip home."
